My review of live action one piece:

7.5/10

I liked it, I knew going in that there were going to be changes from the original bc otherwise it would be boring and some things just can’t be translated to live action. there were some decisions I really liked and made me a bit teary eyed and there were some I didn’t fully understand and/or liked. Some changes they did make was the order of events, Coby stand of with Alvida, Buggy’s influence on events and Coco village knowing why Nami worked for Arlong.

One decision I really loved was the Garp subplot with Coby and Helemeppo (funny now that I think about it I don’t think they ever say helemeppos name??). If it was somebody who hadn’t seen the show before the Garp being Luffy’s grandpa reveal would have been amazing, so well done!

The script was good the majority of the time but sometimes it felt a bit stiff in the wording or it felt a bit out of place but I just might be really picky with line delivery.

Idk if anyone else had problems with the sound while watching? Almost always the background music or ambiance was louder than the dialogue and I couldn’t hear what they were saying even if I tried to adjust the volume.

But yes overall a solid show, opening scene made me cry it was so well made, same with the end of the show. Idk how someone who doesn’t like One Piece would like it? But I think a lot of people who are fans of the anime/manga would like the live action. It definitely set a standard for live adaptations!

India Amarteifio as Megara (she can sing!!!)

Instead of Black Adam, you know who actually deserves a live action movie centered around them and actually has a fanbase already Mr. Freeze, I for one never get tired of his story and about how he wants to save his wife. I would have loved to see his origins, him and Nora before she got sick, him creating the suit and his powers. Him trying to save her.

I have mixed feelings about the series but I think they are really giving it their all to make a good cast. They really look like the original characters 👍🤩👏 and I am happy that new faces get their chance to appear on screen.

And speaking of new actors ... Klahadore is really handsome 😵😍 looking forward to one of my favorite arcs.
