with the focus on the revolving door again in ep 16, i just want to say a little smth abt the door as an autistic person myself.
i know some ppl are frustrated with wyw's difficulty in using the door, saying it infantilizes her and that "she's a 27 year old lawyer, she's seen a revolving door before, she knows how they work." but the thing is, it's not abt her being familiar with revolving doors at all. at least not in the way you think. it's not "oh look at this lady, she doesn't understand this door bc she's autistic." it's a sensory issue.
autism affects our senses and the way we process them. what many allistics don’t understand about autism is that we’re not just overly sensitive to sounds and bright lights. we can be underly (is that a word??) sensitive to stimulus as well and have a hard time controlling our senses. this includes all seven senses. that right, seven. there’s the five you know, but also two you probably don’t: the vestibular sense and proprioception. these two have to do with body awareness, balance, and spatial orientation. that’s why many of us walk “weirdly” (if i ever catch you saying someone walks weirdly i am coming into your house and punching you in the face) or are clumsy. we have issues with our bodies in relation to the world around us and often have a hard time balancing. i walk into walls all the time and miscalculate and walk into doorways instead of through them.
so it’s not that wyw doesn’t understand the social concept of a revolving door, but that they’re difficult to navigate through due to her vestibular and proprioceptive sensory issues. i myself have a hard time with revolving doors! so pls no more “this makes her look dumb” or “this is so unrealistic”. if wyw is bad representation and is stupid for having problems with a revolving door, then i’m an unrealistically stupid autistic that walks into walls.

rewatching buck coming out to maddie and it really does not seem like she’s surprised he’s into men.
she’s surprised that it’s tommy who had him figure it out
“i just, didn’t think that’s where your interests would lie” keep in mind she heard buck rant to her about eddie and tommy’s new friendship. chim even helped tease him about his obvious jealousy.
“wh- it’s the same tommy? eddie’s friend?”
“i don’t think you’re a fraud. i just think maybe you’re not sure of your own feelings yet, and if there’s something you need to tell eddie, you will. just- in your own time”
buck literally came out to eddie in the next scene we saw of them, so there’s no way it could’ve been about that.
she’s not surprised about him being queer (we all know he is bisexual but currently he does not label himself so i am choosing to respect that for the time being!)
and also- maddie would absolutely Never say “i think you’re confused about your feelings” about her brother’s sexuality. she would absolutely never question him, especially because that isn’t her place and she knows that.
so what else could it be? we also know that oliver admitted buck still doesn’t know who or what he was jealous of last episode, just that he was feeling strongly about something.

steve being overly tactile with billy when they become friends. slinging an arm around billy’s shoulder’s while they’re watching a movie. putting his hands on billy’s waist to move past him. tucking billy’s hair behind his ear to look at his earring. slipping a finger through the loop of billy’s jeans to tug him closer. grabbing billy’s chin to tilt his head because oh, you have freckles..
steve telling himself that sure he touches billy a lot but. he’s always been a touchy guy. it doesn’t mean anything.
steve not accepting that he has a crush on billy and that’s the reason he can’t keep his hands to himself.
because obviously steve isn’t a queer.
as if.
billy being simultaneously overwhelmed with and loving all the attention. because it’s steve. steve pressing his face into billy’s neck when they’re high. pulling billy’s hand close to play with his ring. running his hand over billy’s stomach when they pass out in the same bed and he thinks billy’s still asleep. tracing circles around billy’s ankle as he listens to billy read.
because it’s steve. steve who billy’s had a thing for since he arrived in hawkins. steve who can’t like billy like that. steve who isn’t like billy. steve who likes girls.
steve who called byers a queer.
billy wondering if this is just what it’s like to have a friend. a best friend. if this is just what you do. because billy doesn’t know. wouldn’t know. no one’s ever gotten close enough. billy thinking it’s all in his head. that he’s twisting his and steve’s relationship. making it into something it’s not.
steve staring at billy’s lips and wondering what it’d be like to touch them. billy wondering if steve’s gonna break his heart without even trying.

some of you all really think louis and claudia got together in november 1917 and said "you know what would be so funny? if you wrote in your personal diaries that you didnt think anyone would read about how we were abused by lestat even though I wasnt/was exaggerating/ was the actual abuser so we could trick a bunch of white people in 100 years to sell a book and so I can kill myself. that'd be hilarious" and i need you to use your brains for literally 15 seconds
