I love when pokemon games use a character’s team to tell us more about them.

Take Ghetsis from black and white 2 for example. Did you know that his Hydreigon can use the move frustration at maximum power? frustration is a move that gets more powerful the more a pokemon dislikes their trainer, which means that Ghetsis’ Hydreigon literally hates him.

Did you know that his Hydreigon is also a whole ten levels below when the pokemon would normally evolve? While this isn’t uncommon for NPC’s in pokemon games, you could make the argument that this specific instance of it suggests that Ghetsis somehow forced his pokemon to evolve earlier than it ever would have naturally, which isn’t exactly out of character for him.

I’m not even done with Ghetsis and his affront towards nature yet lmao. Did you also know that his Hydreigon is specifically designed to counter N’s team? Y’know, his own foster son.

It has dragon pulse for his legendary

Fire blast for his Vanillux and Klingklang

And focus blast for Carracosta, Zoroark and Archeops

He also has a Cofagrigus who can nullify the legendary’s ability with his mummy ability.

It’s very likely that no matter the outcome of N’s battle with us, Ghetsis was always going to turn on his son to take the dragon for himself. And looking at his team I could believe he would succeed.

Let's look at a slightly more recent example.

In pokemon sword and shield, chairman Rose actually does some preparations before waking up Eternatus, specifically it seems that he did some research into Eternatus’ typing (Poison/Dragon) and designed his team to counter it. He brought a full team of steel types to fight it, which are not only immune to poison but also heavily resist dragon as well. With everything he knew, it really was one of the smartest choices he could have made.

But if he was so prepared then how did Eternatus wipe the floor with him so quickly? Surely he could have easily defeated the legendary and capture it himself right? 

Well there was one thing Rose didn’t take into account when designing his team. One thing he couldn’t have possibly known, even with his extensive research into the creature.

Eternatus knows flame thrower.

He brought nothing but steel types.

He never stood a chance.

I think Makima's woken up.

But already a small series of observations for this chapter I loved

- CSM's curse is to lose his loved ones, if he has no one left to lose, Denji can't become Chainsaw Man again.

- Just as Asa loves Denji AND Chainsaw Man, Denji loves Asa AND Yoru because he can't tell them apart.

- I have the impression that this is the first time Denji has asked for help.

- Denji doesn't want to fight to protect, he needs to protect to fight

- Yoru hands over to Asa several times, because rummaging through rubble and mourning are human things, but that doesn't mean she's immune, because she's also mourning her opponent.

Asa doesn't like sushi, probably because it's often made of fish.

But what's important isn't culinary taste, it's the symbolism of these fish.

When Denji restored Asa's hope, he literally gave her back her strength by feeding her.

A hope that naturally repels Asa, who is not used to it.

What this chapter is about isn't just "I feel like eating sushi".

It's : make me hope again among the rubble

Make sure there's someone behind me when I fight you

Finding a loved one lost to Chainsaw Man's curse is already fighting Chainsaw Man.

Now that we've talked about water, how about fire?

The symbol of fire is not loss, despite the title "charred remains".

Fire in Chainsaw Man now has a precise symbolism, conveyed by the fire demon itself, allowing co-contractors to become whoever they want.

That's why, symbolically, in front of his burning apartment, Denji wanted to be CSM.

But Nayuta also came close to this dreamy fire

By being literally pointed at by a firearm by Barem, weapon of the flame thrower, co-contractant of the fire demon

Charred remains is the old Nayuta

Focus on fire

What Nayuta wanted to become or become again

For this, Chainsaw Man needed to be wounded, completely inactive.

And Control Demon to be alone again

What this chapter indicates is that several cycles are closing

Asa has been helped by Denji, who asks for her help,, closing where time left off with virtually the same protagonists, at the aquarium.

The element of water, hope

That's why Yoshida's question only makes sense now: is Denji in a state to literally face death, i.e. his own mourning?

And then part 2 gently embraces not only its beginning with water but now part 1 with fire, what we wish to be

Deep down, in choosing to be CSM Denji has chosen to be alone

And Nayuta has finally answered the question

Both decided to return to their own starting points, one running after the devil of control, the other embracing her new-found solitude.

You know, I said earlier that Yoru was also mourning the loss of an adversary. Don't you feel that we're bitterly trying to mourn our own? That of our own antagonist? But as fire signifies rebirth… not loss… A remnant… For Nayuta… A carbonization… For Makima.

To fight, Denji needs… Nayuta For the demon of control has awakened in her…

Jon Snow, the man who thought burning a man alive was so utterly cruel and inhumane, very publically defied a Kings orders in front of him, and everyone else in attendance, by showing Mance Rayder mercy and shooting an arrow into his heart before the fire could start to engulf him.

Totally justified, the man whose uncle and grandfather were also burned alive, would ever side with the burns alive with flying flame thrower queen whose father was the one who burned his uncle and grandfather alive.

Ok Real Question.

What is with all the circus imagery in Hell? Like Lucifer is obviously a ringleader, and when he's singing with Charlie the background is that of a circus tent (along with a spotlight on her at one point) But there's so many other things!

So there's the obvious ones of the lions and the elephants on the fireplace. Lions and elephants being staples of animals you'd expect to see in a circus.

There is also ringmaster canes above the fireplace. Probably a reference to Lucifer himself, but it still counts as circus imagery.

We've got horses and lions on the walls. Horses also being staples for circus's.

The obvious circus tents on the doors and windows.

With these ones I recognize it's probably a reference to Lucifer, but snake charmers are a thing in a circus too, so it's still on theme, and a sign that says tickets.

Then we get to Lucifer related shit. In this shot along there's circus tent imagery as well as a circus elephant teapot.

We've got a circus tent, then puppets.

A knife thrower board. (See the circled knives)

More circus tent backgrounds from Luci.

And even a spotlight on Charlie during this leap. That pose also seems pretty circus-like in and of itself.

We also have the line "When I tried this all before" from Lucifer.

So my theory/question is, did Lucifer maybe have a circus instead of a hotel when he was trying the same thing? I think yes, and I think even the sins were involved in his attempt at what Charlie is doing now. Let's just look at Helluva Boss.

First things first, circus shit seems to be completely ingrained in hell.

We've literally seen that clowns are so popular that they are basically celebrities, so much so that there's whole competitions that are widely popular to see who the next big clown will be.

Then we have the sins themselves. We've only seen 3 so far (not counting Lucifer if he is the sin of pride)

First we have mr clown himself, Mammon. He's obviously a clown and runs all the clown competitions and clown related shit.

Then we have Bee, let's be honest she's probably supposed to be a beast tamer given her domain seems to be over the hellhounds.

But she could just be a "food stall person" because she's handing out snacks, including the signature of her song, cotton candy, a circus staple.

Now here comes the harder part... Ozzie.

There's no absolutely clear answer as to what he could probably be, I could make many jokes that he's supposed to be the contortionist (which would still work)

We do see silks above his bed, so he could also be a performer who uses aerial silks.

But honestly, I think he's a fire breather, we see flames are a part of his skill set.

And we literally see him blowing fire onto the stick for Fizz to use in his performance. (So he still fits into the theory)

Unfortunately we haven't seen any other sins (again I'm not counting Lucifer for this) So I don't know how they would fit into the theory here.

But I am firmly in the belief that Lucifer did in fact try redemption shit before but with a circus instead of a hotel and the sins helping him, and that would be why circus shit is so ingrained in Hell and why there's circus imagery fucking everywhere. (Tho it is more obvious in Helluva boss)

So, you tried to kill yourself. This couldn’t have gone any worse for you. It would have been better if the sweet angel of death had found you but no. Nothing ever goes your way. Instead, Dabi finds you clawing at the rope around your throat as you hang from the shower rod in the bathroom you two share.

He immediately rushes into action, burning the rope until it’s on its last string before roughly yanking you into his arms. He unties the rope from your throat with quick and scarred hands.

The flame thrower crouches down on the bathroom floor, transitioning into a sitting position while holding you in his lap. You open your eyes, gazing up at him.

“Fuck…” you cough.

“Yeah, ‘fuck’ is right. What the hell, Y/N? What the fuck were you thinking?!”

“Oh, I don’t know. I really wanted to see ghosts and shit. The fuck do you think I was trying to do, asshole?” There’s a bite in your voice, prickling with pent up poison. You’re infuriated that he stopped you from finding the sweet release you’ve been craving after two years of putting up with this psycho!

“You really wanna get mouthy with me, doll face? Think that’s a good idea right now? I oughta make you beg for death. Should make you hurt so badly it’ll be all you fucking think about. It’s only fair, right? After you just tried to take the one thing I love away from me.”

He holds your face with one hand right at the base of your jaw. He gazes into your E/C orbs with lightning blue ones. It’s as if an electrical storm is glaring right at you. A deep rumble fills his chest with something akin to a growl.

“You’re mine. You always have been, and you always will be. I’m not letting you go. Quit trying to fight me, quit trying to fight everything I give you and do for you. Just…fucking stop.”

Your hands shake as you try to force his hand off of your jaw. “Please, Dabi, I don’t want to live like this anymore. I don’t want to live like a captive.”

“Well, maybe, if you had been more open to living with me in the beginning, I wouldn’t have had to do all of this.”

You sit up straighter in his lap, your nails digging into burnt flesh. “You burned down my apartment building! There were people and animals that died!”

“I did it all for you!” he shouts back in your face. “What choice did I have?”

You smack the sleeve of his jacket. “NOT THAT ONE OBVIOUSLY!”

Yelling, back and forth. It’s all that fills the air as you two argue about your current situation until Dabi is so fed up with you that he picks you up and takes you into the bedroom only to literally body slam you on the mattress. It knocks everything out of you, and you struggle to breathe as he removes his heavy hand from your sternum.

He picks up something that you haven’t seen in a while, something you’re not keen on being forced on your body again.

The chains. If he can’t trust you by yourself while he’s gone, then he’ll go through extra measures to make sure you don’t do anything to try to escape or hurt yourself.

It’ll ease his worries while he leaves you tormented at home.

You scream, trying to fight him as he wrestles you for your ankle. You kick him in the nose, causing droplets of blood to leak from his nostril. He wipes it away with the back of his hand before lighting his palms on fire and grabbing your calf. You cry out in pain, wailing to the ceiling with how much agony you’re in. You can feel your flesh bubbling, melting like wax as he brands you with his hand.

Then, you hear the clink and click of the chain closing around your limb, and you look down at the chain attached to your ankle. You lie back on the pillow, a quivering hand covering your mouth so as not to give him the satisfaction of hearing anymore of your whimpers or sobs.

He looks down at you, wanton revenge expressed clearly with the curl of his patchwork lips, the metal binders rising with his wicked grin.

“Now, for punishments. How do we make sure you learn that you’re mine and that you’re not going anywhere?” For the third time that night, Dabi engulfs his hand with a cobalt flame. “Any ideas? I’ve got a few.”

This is your only chance to get out of whatever fucked up punishment he has in store for you.

“C-come on, Dabi. Can’t you just hold me right now?”

Something flashes in his eyes, something dark and twisted, causing his lopsided grin to grow even wider.

“I mean, I could really use some affection right now. Maybe that would help?”

“Some affection, huh? Want me to run my hands all over that soft little body?”

You look down at your ankle, a good reminder of your situation. Glancing back up at him, you nod your head.

“I guess I could always just hold off on punishing you until tomorrow. Mental health and all that good shit, right?”

“Yeah…thank you.”

He shrugs off his coat and gets into the bed behind you, holding you plush against his chest. His hands roam, but you allow it.

Facts about Casey I think people forget.

He's a fan of dogs.

He talks in the third person often, usually while singing his own praise.

He is a dumbfuck (affectionate) socially but the kid can build very intricate machinery and is creative with random junk. He rebuilt a hunk of metal into a working car. He made a makeshift flame thrower for his bike with a paint can and a taser out of a potato masher for his glove.

He took on four footbots with nothing but his hockey stick and some pucks AND WON!

He got eaten by a space worm and had to crawl his way back into the worms stomach from its intestines. :(

He's an inch taller that Donnie. He's also made kissy faces towards donnie to tease him.

They compared gap sizes for their teeth which I know is in reference to something else but I think it's funnier literally.

Anyways this is all jonatello propaganda because I think he'd make the most soggy, wet dog of a boyfriend imaginable and I'm making ship headcanons soon.

I will never ever stop calling out Bruce for the abusive hypocrite that he is and here’s one of the many instances why:

Also, this is gonna be a lengthy read because I'm gonna elaborate on Identity Crisis a little first, so grab a snack, I guess? lol

A couple of days ago, I finished reading Identity Crisis, and a recent visit to twitter revealed to me that... it's not as well received as I had thought?? I mean, sure, it had its flaws, but most of the arguments I have read about it arises from a lack of a sufficient grip on the essence of the story.

One such argument being that "Jean only wanted to scare Sue, yet she brought a flame thrower with her." So did everyone collectively forget that she was institutionalized at the end of the story? Not to mention that she had a history of mental instability already, (Or so I've read about her) meaning she was mentally ill. She was very definitely lying through her teeth saying that she didn't mean to kill Sue.

Another was the leaguers being morally compromised because, 1) they altered Dr. Light's brain after he threatened to repeat everything he did to Sue and worse to their wives and family, and 2) Because they wiped away memories of a certain leaguer and kept what they did to Dr. Light a secret?

I don't know about you, but to me, that only shows that for the exception of one literal alien, they're all human at their core. They have flaws, they have fears, and they're not above making mistakes. For me, it painted what would be a bunch of one dimensional characters, in a more complex picture.

On another note, I understand that there may have been continuity errors, but honestly, what comic run doesn't have them? It's just become a feature of the comics over the years and given them a flexibility to explore new stories, ideas and themes.

Now, if Deathstroke was buffed up from fighting kids to one-man-up the League, if Firestorm died a little too randomly, you'll just have to excuse the poor writing in those respectives. This happens to the best of stories. At age ten, I found such ridiculous plot holes in Harry Potter of all stories it was seriously embarrassing.

Moving on,

Why did reading this comic specifically strike a nerve in me about Bruce and Jason in respect to the events of Gotham War? Because after what Dr. Light did to Sue and threatening the leaguers to do the same to their families, too, they made the choice to jumble his brains a little so as to stop such tragedy to ever befall again. Of course, Bruce wasn't there for the voting, but then he comes back when they're in the middle of transforming Light's personality. And this is what ensues:

Say what you wanna say, it was more about Batman's authority than anything else or whatever. But don't you think Bruce would have stopped it and lashed out, either way? Well, I do. Because so many times, he's shown to be more sympathetic to monstrous criminals than to a boy he raised.

Look the whole Mandalorian culturing thing is a product of the EU, both EUs spinning shit out of Boba Fett, who had a cool costume and got some recognition from Vader and that’s it. He went out like a chump.

okay okay so basically

We have 7 ocs (<33), all based in a modern AU for ATLA. Its in todays world, so we have all of the tech of today. In this world, benders are the minority and the subject of a lot of prejudice. Some people love em, most hate them because they’re far more powerful than the average human and everyone is threatened by them. A few smart people make friends with the benders (big brain) but most everyone is terrified by them (peasants).

In Tabs' words:

"Benders in the modern world are a minority and are oppressed and demonized. Any person known to have bending powers are locked in jail, killed, or sent to illegal bending arenas to fight to the death. 

The Avatar spirit has been missing for generations. There is no hope, there is no brighter future for benders. 

The Avatar is gone. Lost. 

Until he was found in the body of a man named Revon.

Revon, forced to hide for the entirety of his life, seeks not to bring benders and nonbenders together, but to eradicate every last one of the benders so that he alone holds all the power.

He will unite the world, under his rule. 

That’s where a small rebel group, known as the Steel Hearts, comes into play. A vigilante group dating back to the times of Avatar Korra, it is led by a young waterbender. Once, her parents led the group, before they disbanded under mysterious circumstances. 

For five years, the waterbender has languished in hiding. Once a formidable assassin and a powerful bloodbender, now only a tender of a tea house.

Her tranquil life is flipped on its head one day, when an airbender running from her past seeks the waterbender out, begging her to pick up the pieces of the decades old rebellion and put them back together. 

And here is where our story truly begins."

The characters are based off of my best friends, the people in the infamous Infinity Gauntlet GC, and the adults are based off our teachers (they love it i swear)

Kara [she/her] (me) -> Waterbender, Bloodbender, trained assassin, weapon of choice: throwing knives <33, Orion's S/O

Akira [she/they] (@tabsters) -> Firebender, Lightningbender, (lore to be revealed), weapon of choice: pistol, Rexen's S/O

Rexen [they/them] (@iirexenii) -> Earthbender, Metalbender (second to only Ren), (lore to be revealed), weapon of choice: dual scythes, Akira's S/O

Ren [he/him] (@halfghostlyfires) -> Earthbender, can literally bend every sub-element, most powerful earthbender right after Toph Beifong, resident rich guy #1, weapon of choice: Kyoketsu-shoge (“KNIFE ON A ROPE” according to tabs)

Amara [she/her] (@serenaisproblem) -> Airbender, hacker, weapon of choice: pocketknife (violence when she has to)

Artemis [he/him] (this is the Artemis that Tabs and I refer to) -> Waterbender, resident rich guy #2, weapon of choice: handheld dagger (only resorts to violence when he has to)

Zephyr [they/them] (@im-just-here-for-the-comics-r18) -> Non-bender, absolute badass and will not hesitate to kill, weapon of choice: a goddamn flame thrower

Akio [he/him] (@tdog451) -> Firebender, one of the most powerful in the group, weapon of choice: also throwing knives and his firebending, if you haven't guessed by now, this is Kara's lost lost twin brother

Orion [he/him] (@yourlocalapplejuice) -> Airbender, doesn't do violence except to protect those he loves too, weapon of choice: airbending, Kara's S/O

Villains:

Revon: based off of my humanities teacher, has some history with Kara (we literally dont know what yet), the Avatar and Kara’s direct opponent, weapon of choice: throwing knives

Vexx: based off of no one because Vexx is creepy and weird and none of us like him, weapon of choice: literally any kind of knife and gun, Artemis’ direct opponent

Lilith: also not based off of anyone because she is terrifying, runs an illegal bending arena, both Rexen’s and Akira’s direct opponent, weapon of choice: gun

Those are the three main villain as of now, we’re still developing Amara’s and Zephyr’s

Backstories: 

Kara: parents were assassins, bloodbenders, and leaders of the Steel Hearts, passed that down to Kara. Her parents ended up killing each other (no explanation yet <33)

Akira and Rexen: both were kidnapped at a young age and forced to fight in a bending arena. Rexen escaped first, but was forced to leave Akira behind. Akira finally escaped, met up with Kara's gang, then finds Rexen, and now those two make out at every opportunity after 6 months of being apart

Ren and Artemis: their stories are intertwined. Both were best friends in their youth, but Artemis’ parents being killed led to a rift in their friendship (if you want more on this specific one, tabs and I have a ficlet)

Ren: abusive parents, rich dude, but runs away, ends up getting kidnapped and arrested, his parents have put out a bounty on him

Artemis: actual loving parents, but they’re dead now (heheh) so artemis is forced to live on his own at 12, ends up being successful but chooses to look for his parents’ killer

Amara: oldest kid and has to take care of her siblings. After striking a deal with some pretty shady people, amara shoves her family in a safe place and runs. She is the first member of the steel hearts, and she is the one who encourages Kara to restart it

(We’re still figuring out Zephyr’s backstory lmao but I will put it in here soon)

Have you ever heard of Palworld? It's an upcoming game that's literally GTA meets Pokemon. It's 100% cursed and I know I'll probably die 7 days after playing it but I'm going to get it when it comes out.

This is exactly what the video game world has needed for a while now.

Baffling to me that I continue to see people act like rui was even remotely in the wrong for very calmly telling tsukasa off in the main wxs unit story. Rui brings his childhood best friend who he cares so much about to a group to help her start pursuing her dream again and instead nene just gets a repeat of the worst day of her life with the added bonus of tsukasa berating her. Rui had nothing to apologize for & every right to tell tsukasa off. Tsukasa literally agrees that he was being a dick. I love Tsukasa Tenma I think he’s a great character but the way people will go Well Rui Was Mean To Him :( as if the narrative doesn’t very clearly spell it out for you that tsukasa was 100% in the wrong. Tbh Tsukasa was lucky that Rui isn’t a mean person. He was also very lucky that robonene didn’t have the flame throwers yet.
