You ever come across a sad adult film? Well, The Real ODP certainly has and this takes us down a path that, well, it’s certainly a path. Mike DeWine and his fellow Republicans are a bunch of bitches. What’s the best easily available ice cream? With Gabriel back in the saddle for the first time in a while we hand the reigns over to him for a good chunk of the show. He tells us of some of his adventures in the Pacific Northwest including a visit to DUDESTOCK 2022 and karaoke with strangers. He also finds out that Ohio has a reputation across the country and it would seem there’s work to be done in The Heart of it All. And to wrap up the all-Gabe extravaganza, Gabe’s infamous TV breaking child strikes again and breaks another piece of high-end electronics. We walk on down to the mean streets of the Reddit Sub-Reddit AITA. We have an update from a previous week’s AITA as well as some other bangers. We wrap it up with our entertainment suggestions including the return of our Great British Bake-Off Podcast Krème Patisserie now in it’s own feed that we certainly hope you continue to or start listening to. Two Jews celebrated a very merry Crissmas in DC with DC last night. Watching @ darrencriss perform live, whether on Broadway, in concert playing his original songs and Disney covers, or giving a not-at-all-shitty TED Talk interspersed with Crissmas songs is always a magical and totally awesome experience. It has been incredible watching his career from musical boy-wizard to today, and waiting in the cold to meet him at the stage door was 1000% worth it. I am so grateful that the handful of celebrity favorites of mine who I have been lucky enough to meet have all proven to be so kind, thoughtful, and generous with their time, and Darren was all of that and more. Cannot wait to see what's next for this wonderful and talented human.

THE HAUNTED LINCOLN THEATER - Belleville, Illinois. This operating movie theater (built in 1921 as a Vaudeville venue) is said to be haunted by a number of ghosts: seven different spirits, reportedly. As found in many such haunted theater abodes, the Lincoln is home to an elegant “Lady in White” female specter - perhaps once a performer or patron who stayed well beyond the curtain call. A mischievous “boy in blue” is said to be seen running up and down the stairs and aisles. A noisy poltergeist has allegedly been heard to make an occasional racket in the looming projection booth. Most fantastic of all are the supposed tales of the visages of famous performers like - Groucho Marx or Houdini - taking the stage (one they both are said to have performed on) one last time before shuffling off to eternity. A number of ghost hunting groups have explored here and have experienced/documented strange voices and bizarre EVP. A beautiful theater from a glorious bygone day, worth visiting at any rate. “MIMI OF BATON ROUGE”

Opening its doors in 1949, the Lincoln Theater at Myrtle and Eddie Robinson Drive in Baton Rouge was one of just three major theaters the African American’s could attend. “For 75 cents”, Peggy Bates with the Louisiana Black History Hall of Fame told WAFB, the black-owned business provided “hope in a time where hope was hard to come by.” Closed in the mid-80s, the theater once again tried to make a go of it between 2000 and 2007. In 2014, in the midst of renewed efforts to rehabilitate the theater, Australian artist Rone made a stop in his U.S. roadtrip to paint this wall. Describing his work as the friction point between beauty and decay seems a particularly poignant description for this lovely portrait of Mimi, a girl living just two doors away from the boarded up property. @r_o_n_e @museumofpublicart
