thinking about how the three of the biggest relationships in bucks life are pretty significantly tied to helicopters/helicopter crashes,,, (partially inspired by this post by @maygrcnt)

taylor kelly: met her when her news helicopter crash. not the first person he seriously dated but definitely is the most serious romantic relationship he had yknow. can’t forget the whole couch metaphor arc.

eddie: i mean it’s pretty self explanatory but eddie’s helicopter crash when he was in the army caused him to be discharged and forced to be reliant on his family again, which is what made him move to la, where, of course, he met buck. they’re literally thee most important person in each others lives. they’re besties. coparents (when the only help eddie’s had as a coparent is shannon, who left (no hate to her it’s complicated shit and she did die but still she did), and his parents, who were controlling and not what either of them needed and also just generally really shitty to eddie at the time (ESPECIALLY re his parenting). and then buck comes along and like within a year he’s like i trust you with my life and my son and my sons life! after everything!! and puts buck as chris’ legal guardian in his will—) n e ways yeah that but also eddie’s ptsd related to the whole helicopter crash incident was super significant later in their relationship too bc eddie was at his lowest point (a place he’d been before but back then, his wife left him and his parents actively made everything worse instead of helping) and buck just like. steps in WITH eddie and gives him what he needs and like takes care of eddie and chris in they way they both need instead of forcing them into what he thinks they need like eddie’s parents did. yeah. and eddie actually did some healing then unlike the last time. so eddie is easily the most important and serious and intimate (like platonically but also Not) relationship buck has ever had, more so than any of bucks gfs.

and then tommy comes around!!! a fuckin helicopter pilot. he and buck first meet not necessarily in a helicopter crash but in a helicopter. in an emergency situation. and they draw SO MANY parallels between tommy and eddie and taylor (he and eddie have a lot in common like with the whole army and martial arts stuff and they get really close really fast and then BUCK HIMSELF drawing the taylor parallels. literally biting at my enclosure.) and wow! look at that! they kiss (and soon start a relationship) and tommy is literally not only the first man buck has ever kissed, but also the catalyst for buck realizing he’s bi. (or, at least, that those feelings bucks had for men in the past (cough cough eddie) are like mushy romantic/sexual/Very Not Platonic things.) literally even if they just kissed that once and had no relationship past that it’s still a massively impactful (non)relationship for buck!!!

and somehow. somehow the most important relationships in bucks life are all connected to helicopter crashes/emergencies. and they’re only characters who have such big connections to said helicopter crashes/emergencies. and they all have relationships that are incredibly important and impactful to buck. this is literally canon.

i will be totally honest with y’all i can’t see Hobie (ATSV) in a romantic relationship ever. like, i can’t see him seeing anybody ever as “the one” or even having multiple partners or anything. I can barely see him having friends outside of the ones he already has. I can somewhat see the “are we dating or are we not dating” thing being something he gets involved in, but not really. i think a lot of people either don’t know or just forget that he’s probably homeless and that his world is shit rn and that stuff he needs isn’t easy to come by 😭😭 and a lot of homeless people just don’t have time/energy for shit like romantic relationships and the stuff he’s doing canonically because they’re so focused on trying to survive. That’s why when I make posts about him casually flirting or whatever it’s never serious, it never goes anywhere, because honestly! Between music shows, trying to find your next meal, fighting the power, trying to find a shelter for the night, helping other homeless people and others in need as both a civilian and Spider-Man, dealing with dimensional threats, trying to find a place to get clean, i just don’t think Hobie has time to even consider it. Sure, maybe there are facilities in the HQ to make it easier, but after that stunt, i think he’d avoid using them as much as possible. do you see what i mean??

#like i know he isn’t confirmed homeless in the movie. but like #like. i know. i also don’t like to think about homelessness and how terrifying it is esp for black guys #but you gotta realize he does not have all these damn hair products. he probably doesn’t smell good either #and he probably doesn’t have good breath most days or good teeth at all #and his clothes are probably dirty more often than not #and he will not be fun. people are not fun when their basic human rights are stripped away and they’re treated like garbage for a majority+#of their life #like. i genuinely think people just don’t consider a lot of shit he doesn’t do or even get the chance to bc he’s homeless #and how you’re treated like a pest and as if you aren’t human and don’t deserve human decency/necessities #now don’t get me wrong. i love to imagine hobie having a reliable space at the commune! with karl and kamala and all them. but +#that doesn’t mean he has reliable food sources and it’s basically a middle class well stocked and cared for house #of course i can’t/won’t police you because i don’t give a shit about what others do regarding him but yknow. keep it in mind at least #don’t even get me started on the knowledge of fixing pipes and other broken shit. god i could go on forever lol #this post was about Hobie not dating anybody and it turned into this 10/10 to myself actually #hobie brown #spiderpunk #spider punk #m&m posts

Idk I just like really like Wyll yk. Like he’s so unflinchingly and unfailingly good. Of course he’d sell his soul to help people. maybe hot take but I actually think close my eyes is sadder than wfttwtaf as a whole. like wfttwtaf as an album could be reflecting on a moment of crisis, spiralling from the shock of getting back from holiday and realising you feel so behind in everything youre trying to do that you don’t ever know if it’ll be okay and it just reminds you of everything else that’s going on—ending with a song about how you can face it, how you’ve been doing the same thing again and again but expecting different outcomes your whole life but now you’re aware of it (with the implications that maybe you’ll try things different now). even diamonds is a testament of survival; I’m so much older than I ever though I would be; of your worries coming to nothing, it was always going to be fine in the end. even mum is the victory of actually reaching out to someone who can genuinely help for the first time, letting them in, not worrying anymore about making them worry for you but deciding that doing what it takes to survive is better and to stick around for them you’ve gotta let them help. but close my eyes is just ‘I regret my entire life’ and I genuinely don’t know how to put a positive spin on it

Sick and tired of reading about people say that Dazai knowing about the plan beforehand somehow takes away from the genuineness of the skk moments

You mean you WANT Dazai to choose to kill Chuuya for the greater good and then not give a shit immediately after?? Ignoring the speech for a second, the reason he was able to be so carefree after “killing” Chuuya is because he KNEW Chuuya was gonna be okay.

First of all, Dazai knowing Chuuya wasn’t gonna die doesn’t take away from his speech. He replayed all those memories for himself, nobody else was seeing what was happening in his head. He was GENUINELY upset at the idea of losing Chuuya and having to put Chuuya through that, DESPITE knowing Chuuya would be okay. He was STILL upset. That’s way better than him thinking he just killed Chuuya, sparing him a thought, not even crying (bc no that wasn’t a tear) and then just moving on being silly as if nothing happened.

And then the other speech him saying that they’re destined to - do you seriously think he’d just make that up for shits and giggles? He was being serious. If he was gonna play it up for Fyodor’s sake he would’ve said the most emotional out of pocket line to ever be written, which to them would be related to him leaving Chuuya behind. But no he just said they’re destined to do something.

Dazai talks a lot about the past to Chuuya (Chuuya does not participate) but those two are clearly emotionally constipated bc they never have a conversation about what they mean to each other (which I think is bc Asagiri is not ready to reveal that yet). This was clearly Dazai taking his opportunity to say what he REALLY thinks / feels forcing Chuuya to listen without the commitment. Bc if anyone gets the ick later he can use the convenient excuse of “oh I didn’t mean that” which is bullshit.

And I do think an element of this idea that it’s worse that Dazai had everything planned comes from the misunderstanding that Dazai has completely changed since he was in the port mafia. Dazai just tends to make “better” (as in more objectively good) choices, but he very much still puts on a front. You guys do realize that his silly persona is just that right? A persona? He’s literally being fake every time he’s silly. That’s not his real personality. He’s a morally gray character. He never became a purely good person and he never will. It makes MUCH more sense that he planned everything out with Chuuya beforehand.

He met up with Akutagawa before getting arrested, he probably did the same with Chuuya.

And yes, this means he DID use and manipulate Sigma the entire time. Why wouldn’t he? Sigma has an ability Dazai needed. I’m sure Dazai planned for sigma to not die bc in his role as a detective it’s part of his job to mitigate losses of innocent lives, he knows this, but also bc Dazai needs to know what sigma learned. I genuinely hope there isn’t anyone out there thinking Dazai wouldn’t manipulate sigma bc he cares about him? He just met him. He has no personal investment in him. But he WILL make sure sigma is alive bc of the aforementioned reasons.

it really fucking sucks to be a horror fan & specifically a controversial content fan at times when you have ptsd because it makes it impossible to just enjoy plenty of perfectly good quality content. especially as a firm advocate that we shouldn’t police what is & isn’t allowed to be portrayed & that sometimes portraying awful things is in fact relevant to the story & necessary. like I just wish I could pussy up sometimes lol

#meg talks #abt to head back into work #the start of a long fucking week #last time i tried to go back to work i literally collapsed on the ground from how tired and sick i was #if anything it feels like im just getting worse now #my nerve pain is so bad #and my coughing fits make me see spots #at least i don’t have fever anymore and the congestion isn’t as bad #i can breathe okay #but god. im scared that this will be my new baseline #which will mean that i can’t work here anymore…#and it’s just too early to tell. it could take weeks to get my full strength back and i might be fine #but that’s weeks of wondering #and trying to muscle through #which could be making things worse. fuck if i know #i want to quit so bad but at the same time i don’t want to. i don’t want to be muscled out #it just sucks so bad.#and they let this happen to fucking ten out of fifteen of us all at the same time #they really don’t give a shit about our lives #they can always just replace us with cheaper labor.
