Izuku wasn’t one to think about danger. When someone called for help, he followed their voice, and when he saw something he wanted, he followed his heart.

It came as no surprise that instead of running away from explosions, he ran towards them.

I really like it when a power occasionally behaves in a sort of independent/instinctive way as a response to its wielder's feelings/emotional state/etc and. Blackwhip 🥹 blackwhip first bursting out because of Izuku's protectiveness over Katsuki and then repeatedly going berserk because of that same reason... and when it comes to the memories episode I wonder if Izuku avoided to use it on Katsuki on purpose, or if once again blackwhip reacted without him commending it to. Like when they did (when they will do?) the catapult thing, imo outwardly blackwhip was a way to stabilise Katsuki's arm, but it was also a way for Izuku to subconsciously reach out to him. Handholding = physical proof that Katsuki was alive and fighting alongside side him; blackwhip = a mirror of his emotions = everything that he was feeling at that moment came out as well/he reflexively reeked reassurance that what was happening and Katsuki's presence were real
