A new law in Spain allows people to freely change gender from age 16. Euronews reports on what this means for the children, adults and families concerned. A new national law for "real and effective equality for trans people" came into force in Spain on 2 March 2023, allowing a person to change their gender identity in the civil register without undergoing a two-year hormonal treatment or obtaining a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria, as required by previous legislation. Euronews reporters Valerie Gauriat and Davide Rafaelle Lobina travelled to Madrid to hear the testimonies of those who are affected by the law.

I really hope this reaches more people, I'm only reposting this information from Instagram, the least that I can do. (Update: I changed their upbringing as it appears to have been listed wrong) Wiki page
When I just saw this information I couldn't stop crying thinking about it, and now my heart aches. They were the same age as me, I know for a fact like any other teen they dreamt of their future, who they would want to become, what to achieve, create, wondering if they meet those in the future they can call friends, wondeting if it'll get better when they grow up, maybe wished to leave that terrible place or maybe wanted to stay. How could anyone let this happen, why were they discharged from hospital so easily? And the school, we all know why. I hate to think about how, even with all the progress made, these things still happen.
"murdered schoolgirl Brianna Ghey on February 16, 2023. Candlelit vigils are being held across the UK this week for Brianna Ghey, 16, who was stabbed at Linear Park in Culcheth, Cheshire last Saturday. Brianna was a transgender girl and police are now investigating her killing as a hate crime. A boy and girl, both 15, have been charged with her murder"
An article that explains trans hate crime murders as on 2023
I hate everyone who have ever committed such vile hate crimes, I wish them in prison and hell. But i would never go down to their level. But I also blame the government, the school, and even those bigoted online accounts that teach their followers hate. In this case LibsOfTikTok, who targeted the teacher of this school, who supports lgbtq+, so they had to leave their position. It must have been the push for this to happen. I think their tiktok account has been thankfully deleten. But i have no idea about Twitter or any other. Please check and mass report them if it still exists. (Link to Instagram reel that this information is from)
ADDITION, PLEASE MASS REPORT THESE ACCOUNTS

"Glamour UK launched its digital June Pride cover this week featuring a pregnant transgender man.
The cover features transgender activist and author Logan Brown standing topless with a suit painted over his chest and his pregnant belly on full display.
“I am a transgender pregnant man and I do exist, so no matter what anybody says, I literally am living proof,” Brown told the magazine.
Glamour UK, an online women’s magazine published by Condé Nast, launched its Pride cover issue on Thursday, coinciding with the start of LGBTQ Pride month. The magazine has previously showcased prominent figures in the LGBTQ community, such as Grammy-award winning artist Kim Petras and "Queer Eye" cast member Antoni Porowski.
This year’s issue “celebrates the allyship between women (cisgender or not) and transgender people through our shared experiences — in particular pregnancy, healthcare and childbirth,” the magazine explained.
The cover interview, which was conducted two weeks before Brown, 27, gave birth to his daughter, Nova, recounts the cover star’s experience with an unexpected pregnancy and navigating the medical system as a trans man...
Despite the backlash, the cover star expressed his desire to educate those who may hold misconceptions about transgender individuals.
Brown shared with Glamour that he is working on a children’s book and an autobiography that highlights his pregnancy, and hopes it will serve as a resource for other transgender people.
He added that he would also like the book to reach people who aren’t transgender but “are curious and want to know about the situation,” referring to trans pregnancy."

Especially heartening to see this coming out of the UK, given the dramatic rise in transphobia and TERFism there the past few years.
Right now, it can be a really stressful and heartbreaking time to be trans. Widespread change takes time that it often feels like we don't have. But we're here, and we will always be here, and despite what it may feel like, we have made unbelievable amounts of progress in the last 20 years alone.
I promise you this: the transphobes are going to lose.

if you dont know, the supreme court just allowed Idaho to ban gender affirming care for trans youth !! please send love to any transgender youth you know, especially anyone in Idaho.
this is absolutely terrifying, as a trans youth myself living in a state absolutely filled with right wing individuals, i am scared for me and my fellow trans youth living in ANY state, but especially red states like mine.
i'll reblog this post with anything i can find on how to help stop this, and you should too. please boost this, this affects all trans people, but especially trans youth, who already lack so many rights just for being youth.

I cannot even BEGIN to tell you, as a Florida teacher, the relief I feel.
Under the terms of the settlement, the Florida Board of Education will send instructions to every school district saying the Florida law doesn’t prohibit discussing LGBTQ+ people, nor prevent anti-bullying rules on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or disallow Gay-Straight Alliance groups. The settlement also spells out that the law is neutral — meaning what applies to LGBTQ+ people also applies to heterosexual people — and that it doesn’t apply to library books not being used for instruction in the classroom. The law also doesn’t apply to books with incidental references to LGBTQ+ characters or same-sex couples, “as they are not instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity any more than a math problem asking students to add bushels of apples is instruction on apple farming,” according to the settlement.

Yesterday (20/12/23), two fifteen-year-olds, referred to only as Girl X and Boy Y in court, were found guilty of the murder of 16 year old trans girl, Brianna Ghey. Mrs Justice Yip on the trial has now stated the two can be identified when they are sentenced next year.
On Saturday, 15th of February 2023, Brianna Ghey was found stabbed 28 times in a park in Warrington. She was pronounced dead by paramedics roughly one hour after she was found, and her killers were arrested within 24 hours of the murder. Early into the investigation, investigators said there was little evidence linking Brianna's identity as a trans woman to her murder, stating they had "no information or intelligence to suggest" it was a hate crime. At this point in the investigation, police had restored deleted WhatsApp messages between the two convicted, revealing that they had spoken about killing five people, one of whom was Brianna Ghey. Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Evans of Chesire Police said "“I think if it hadn’t been Brianna, it would have been one of the other four children on that list."
Brianna was first mentioned by Girl X about two months before her death, and, according to police, seemed to be "obsessed" with her. Boy Y responded with some "horrific, dehumanising, and transphobic" language, using transphobic slurs to refer Brianna, and almost exclusively calling her 'it'. In one of his messages to Girl X, he wrote, "I want to see if it will scream like a man or a girl”.
Chesire Police said that Girl X had attempted to kill Brianna before, and had told Boy Y that she had given Brianna ibuprofen tablets earlier that year. Brianna's mother, Esther Ghey, said that Brianna had had to stay home from school at the time due to being extremely unwell, though she did recover. The messages also reportedly showed that Girl X asked Boy Y for other methods to kill Brianna when the tablets did not work. Girl X's defence during the recent 18-day trial said this was part of a fantasy the two teenagers had shared.
Both suspects pled not guilty to the murder, however after a jury deliberation of over four hours, Brianna's killers were found guilty of murder.
On Thursday, 21st of December, the judge on the trial said that the defendants can be named when they are sentenced in February next year, an exception made due to "strong public interest".

"Singapore will repeal a law that bans gay sex, effectively making it legal to be homosexual in the city-state.
The decision, announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on national TV, comes after years of fierce debate.
LGBT activists in Singapore have hailed the move as "a win for humanity".
The city-state is known for its conservative values, but in recent years an increasing number of people have called for the colonial-era 377A law to be abolished.
Singapore is the latest place in Asia to move on LGBT rights, after India, Taiwan and Thailand."
