Sometimes Donghyun would wake up and feel like he was suffocating on his own scent. He smelled like an isle of fruit, and everytime anyone commented on it he felt nothing but shame. It was a constant reminder. Anywhere he went, anything he touched, it smothered him. He picked up a pen and it was left with a coat of jelly. He smoothed the wrinkles in his pants and they were smeared with jello. He stopped touching other people years ago. He would feel so guilty leaving them with red and orange fruit stains.
A person can’t smell their own scent, but Donghyun was convinced otherwise. Why else would he wake up choking on perfumed air? Maybe it was in his head. Maybe it was his own fear. Or maybe it was the handful of plums the Lord so graciously handed him.
Donghyun didn’t want plums and oranges and strawberries. He prayed for tall glasses of salt water. But this is what he was given. This is what he had to live with.
Even now, staring at the black ceiling waiting until his breathing slowed he had to lie in a bed with apples and grapefruit.
Donghyun always wondered why he was plagued with nightmares. Why he woke multiple times a night trembling and drenched in sweat. He can’t even remember what he dreamed about. If there were faces or demons, if they were bloody with guts or traumatic with lost family members. He just… can’t sleep.
He sat up. Imaginary cherries rolled across the warped wooden floor.
What was the point of trying again? He would just stay awake. Everything was so fitful. Ghosts that he couldn’t remember in his sleep. The crushing weight of failure during the day. It’s like he was stuck in limbo. One foot in the Garden another in Hell. God even gave him a pomegranate to remind him. Look at what you did to man.
The floor was cold, and the light outside was blue and silver. A full moon.
Yellow and blue, Donghyun turned his desk lamp on. Its light was soft, but it took a second for his eyes to adjust to the sudden warmth. His room was small. All of their rooms were small. That’s just how boarding school is, he supposed. Twin bed, desk, a dresser, a radiator, garbage can.
He had been inside other rooms before. They had cork boards with memories bottled into tickets and pictures of their pets. They had framed photos of their parents, siblings, aunties and uncles. Some had old family crests. Some of them had gifts from home. Hand knitted blankets that smelled like their dams, small baskets of their favorite snacks they couldn’t in this small town tucked away deep in the pines.
Donghyun was an orphan. His walls had a calendar and a crucifix. His bed had a synthetic blanket that the school provided. His desk had textbooks and notebooks.
He felt so very alone, and when he started smelling so sweet he understood why he was abandoned. Who would want this?
The few personal items he had weren’t much. There was a bible bound in leather with gold lettering. There was a rosary with white, pearly beads. There was Celery, a worn stuffed rabbit. And then there was Celery’s rosary, of course, currently wrapped around his plush neck. That one had plastic yellow beads. He had a few books of his own. A few outfits.
It’s not like he needs much. It’s not a very holy thing to have so many possessions, anyway. Donghyun was content with his minimalistic room, but… maybe one family photo would be nice.
He’ll have to repent for the jealousy later.
But there was one more thing. His eyes fell on it standing all alone in the dim yellow light that washed over the desk. It was pushed a little farther back, a memory lost to a corner, school and bible studies had taken precedence.
It was a butterfly. Blue. Carefully pinned inside its black frame. It was easy for Donghyun to see the care that went into it. It was a gift from someone special to someone special. Truth be told he hadn’t thought of this person in years.
They were kids when they met. Donghyun had crawled out of the window after one of his nightmares. Lost himself deep in the forest. He was a child then. So was the boy he met. Skinny. Pale. Donghyung was afraid of him at first. Some kind ghost. An evil spirit to entice him into sin or lead him into a lake and drown him. But he was just a boy. A strange boy unnaturally comfortable in the dark woods.
He said his name was Daehwi. He said he was from a village farther up the mountain. He said his family thought of Donghyun’s boarding school as a religious cult. A place full of false prophets and lies. Donghyun was deeply offended at first, but it didn’t last long. They met nearly every night for a long time. He would go into the forest and talk to his friend under the moon. It didn’t matter that Daehwi thought Donghyun was living in religious bondage and following lies and it didn’t matter that Donghyun thought Daehwi was a heretic spreading harmful pagan ideas and living secluded in the woods like a freak. They just worked somehow, and they both learned not to question it much.
Things fall apart when you question.
Daehwi loved butterflies. He pinned their corpses and hung them around his cabin. That’s what he told Donghyun, who thought it was a little strange at first. But Daehwi gave him a gift. And Donghyun wasn’t one to question gifts. It was like a piece of his soul that he entrusted Donghyun with.
Donghyun swayed, still looking at the little soul in the black frame. It was important to Daehwi. Why hadn’t he gone into the forest recently? Why did he stop years ago? If he went back would this small child still even be there? And what would he look like now?
Donghyun was moved to pull on proper pants, socks, shoes, and a jacket before he even really considered what he was doing. Sister Catherine said that sometimes the Lord works in hidden ways. That He pulls you into actions you would never take and when that happens all you have to do is trust Him and follow what He’s pulling you towards. Donghyun steeled his faith as he pulled his first floor window open.
In a last thought he pocketed the white rosary, and then he swung his feet out his window and carefully lowered himself into the shrubs below.
It was a dream, or maybe a memory. He always conflated the two.
The air had a bite to it. Needles swayed in the wind above his head. His feet worked from memory, and everything was bundled in the silver gauze spun by the moon herself. Donghyun started to fret. Would Daehwi even be there anymore? Had he forgotten too or was he bitter with Donghyun’s sudden abandonment? What would he say to him if he was there? He hoped they wouldn’t fight.
The tree they met under was still there. Daehwi said it was a bigleaf maple. It was massive and covered in moss. Thick branches sprawled in all directions and seemed to encompass the entire sky when you stood under it. A leafy Atlas bearing the brunt of the stars on its bark. A few of those branches had collapsed recently, breaking off from the trunk and horrid angels. They were still attached by a few woody tendons, and the entire scene made Donghyun think that something had died in that tree, even though it remained alive above its dragging limbs.
“Softwood rots in humid places like this.”
Donghyun started and turned towards the sudden voice. He appeared silently, as if he had melted from the moonlight. He did that the first time too, when Donghyun was lost and on the verge of tears. He stared for a second, a little awed at the moonghost standing in front of him with his hands in his pockets.
He wasn’t very tall and nor had he bulked up. He was still fairly pale and his eyes still had that clear, freezing gleam.
Donghyun didn’t know what to say. The words that came out were a little stupid, but what was he supposed to say?
“You’re still here.”
Daehwi narrowed his eyes. “I haven’t been. I gave up awhile ago.”
“Fated,” Donghyun took a step closer. “God wanted us here. Together.”
Daehwi cocked an eyebrow. “Your god, maybe.”
Donghyun shrugged, lowering himself into a squat. They used to sit here for ages. Neither one of them cared about how damp their pants got or how the cold would start burning into their bones. They would be too focused on each other. Too busy listening and talking. Daehwi always did all the talking back then. He would tell Donghyun about the stars they couldn’t see under the tree. The butterflies he liked the most. The saints and gods of his religion. How to slaughter a lamb ethically and painlessly. He was without God, but he was fascinating.
He was silent now, regarding Donghyun cooly. Was he angry they stopped meeting? Had he waited in the forest night after night in vain? Donghyun had told him he might stop coming. That things were getting more and more complicated the more he thought about puberty. About presenting. About his future. Did he understand?
“I like to think of Him as everyone’s god,” Donghyun said softly.
Daehwi scoffed. “Of course you do.”
An owl hooted somewhere in the distance. Daehwi looked off in its direction as if he could watch it take flight from here. Even the air around him felt icy and tense. Donghyun traced his angular jawline, eyes moving from his small ear to the tip of his chin. He had grown well. Donghyun wondered about him. His identity, his education, what had happened in the few years they cut each other out.
“My friend, talk to me.” Donghyun’s voice was almost a whisper in the cedars, tangling in the small vine maples and getting lost. “What have you been up to these days? What happened?”
Daehwi’s gaze turned back to him. Donghyun winced. It was dripping with something he couldn’t exactly put a word to. Apathy? Hatred? An unsanctioned marriage between the two?
“I waited, for one thing. I waited for my friend to come back, but he ran off with my gift.”
Donghyun could only flinch and grimace. Gifts were so important, in both of their secluded little sects. Pieces of the soul. A promise from one person to another. The start of a dialogue between the two. He had ghosted a courtship.
“Of course then I realized we were kids mimicking things we knew nothing about and that it never meant anything in the first place. And that hurt for awhile. But you get over it eventually.” He shrugged stiffly looking off into the black distance again.
Donghyun was silent for a few moments. These things had to be navigated so carefully. He was crossing a river by jumping from one small rock to another. They were so wet… covered with wigs of algae and robes of fresh water. A quick sign of the cross and he had to jump.
“So much happened. So much I wanted to die.”
Daehwi’s head turned slowly back in Donghyun’s direction. His gaze was still pained, but a little softer. Donghyun wondered if he ever really got over it.
“What happened?”
“I wanted to be a priest.”
“And why can’t you?”
Donghyun sighed and stood up. There were so many smells in the air. Moss. Water. Wet bark. The forest was alive with scent. It was easy to hide out here where the wind blew everything away so quickly you could barely catch a whiff of it. It’s not like a classroom behind stone walls where you could smell everyone in nearly every adjacent room. So he stepped closer, almost closing the gap between them, and pulled down his coat collar a little and baring his neck in a dramatic flair.
Fruit.
Daehwi’s nose twitched.
“They won’t let us in. Too… compromised. Prone to sin. Made to serve God in other ways.”
“An old stereotype.”
“Religions are full of that.”
Another awkward silence. Daehwi cast his gaze downwards. Donghyun wondered if apathy was his protection the way isolation was his. The wind was picking up, and the treetops were rocking now. Donghyun crossed his arms and shivered. The air started to smell a little bit like rain.
“Do you hate me?” Daehwi’s tone was flat. Emotionless.
“No… why would you say that?”
He shrugged, the leaf litter seemingly more interesting than Donghyun’s face. “I just thought you were supposed to.”
Donghyun didn’t know what to say and hugged himself tighter.
“When you left, I guess I thought you were tired of hanging out with someone your people damn to hell.”
Donghyun kicked at the rotting leaves. He guessed it was true. Daehwi wasn’t even baptized. Where else would he go? But that’s not what the religion is about either. There are core tenets of understanding. Of love. Of forgiveness. Donghyun forgave Daehwi the day they met. Shouldn’t He have?
“Well… what do you think of me?”
Daehwi finally shot him another glance. “I think you’re misguided.”
Donghyun sighed again.
The world around them grew steadily darker. Clouds were blowing in blocking the weak rays the moon could provide them. Donghyun began to dread the walk home. Daehwi was a always a mindreader. He smirked a little, finally lightening out of his pensive and emotionless mask. “Need me to walk you home? Gonna get lost again, little kid?”
“I’d appreciate it. I can’t see well.”
They walked in a single file line. Donghyun was cold and unsettled. He wasn’t sure where they stood. They were talking at least, but it didn’t feel like how it should. Daehwi was upset. Their religions were a wall. All Donghyun wanted to do was climb over it, but he was too scared to find a foothold. He was on one side of the river, and he was too busy fussing over the stones in the middle to even try to cross.
Stone walls and lights in the distance. Daehwi walked him all the way up to his open window, and the rain finally started to fall.
Donghyun swayed, unsure, but desperate to extend some sort of olive branch.
“It’s gonna pour.”
Daehwi grunted in agreement.
“You should… come inside.”
The smaller man studied him for a moment, eyes traveling across Donghyun’s facial features, scrutinizing. Looking for something. But God had other plans. The rain picked up quickly, going from a drizzle to something steadier with threats to let loose into a storm.
“Yeah,” Daehwi agreed, and they climbed into Donghyun’s dark room before they could be drenched. Donghyun shut the window. Daehwi loitered until Donghyun turned the desk lamp back on.
The shrubs outside rustled and rubbed against the wall. Daehwi sniffed.
“It’s bare in here.”
Donghyun shrugged. “What did you picture?”
“A nest at least. You’re such a fucking monk.”
Donghyun let himself laugh a little. “I was raised by nuns, I guess it shows.”
Donghyun could smell him in here. He smelled like a mass on the beach. Incense, pews, salt water, sand. It was infinitely better than fruit, but Donghyun briefly wondered what they smelled like together. Cranberries growing in the ocean? Pineapple on white sand? A hidden apple underneath a church pew?
The butterfly on his desk. Daehwi was running his fingers across the top of the frame. “This was my first one. It’s crooked. I’m better now.”
“Make me a new one.”
“If I do, you can’t leave again.”
Donghyun reached into his coat pocket, feeling the beads he stashed earlier. The rain outside persisted, running down the window like steady lanes of traffic.
“Do you forgive me?” Donghyun asked gently.
Daehwi turned to him, crossing his arms. “For leaving? If you don’t do it again.”
“You said we were kids.”
“We were. It didn’t mean anything except hurt feelings then. If we do it now,” he quirked a brow again. “It’s for real.”
Donghyun took a deep breath. “And you don’t… care? About me?”
A brief look of confusion crossed the younger man’s face before it was back to apathy. “What’d you mean?”
“That I… that I’m… like this.”
Daehwi’s brow creased. “If I cared I wouldn’t have even walked you home. Shouldn’t you be more worried about God?”
Donghyun shook his head. “I don’t think so.”
Silence.
“I prayed to be a beta.”
“That sounds like you.”
“I wanted to preach so badly, Daehwi. I don’t know what to do now.”
Daehwi shrugged. “I don’t know either.”
Donghyun wasn’t even sure a courtship between them would work. It was a matter of religion. They weren’t converting each other. One wasn’t about to drop his belief entirely. They were both feverish with faith. And that made Donghyun afraid. But he pulled out the white rosary anyway and offered it to Daehwi.
“It’s important to me.”
Daehwi looked at it pointedly before slowly taking it from him.
“And if I decide you aren’t for me?”
“Give it back to me.”
Daehwi nodded. “I’ll hold onto it for now.” He hesitated before stepping closer, twisting his head towards the shell of Donghyun’s ear. “You smell good, by the way.”
Donghyun shivered.
Daehwi glanced outside. The rain weakened a little. The night was growing old. “It’s the full moon, Donghyun. I have things to attend to.”
Donghyun nodded. “Just come back?”
“Yeah.”
Silence. A heavy pause, each unsure of how to proceed around the other. Each made a little dizzy by the other’s scent, each afraid of spitting at their faith, each terrified of ending up alone.
“Lend me an umbrella?”
A cloth torch passed from one hand to another. Sound and wind filled the room when the window open and then Donghyun was alone again, just as suddenly as he had left the room earlier that night.
Deep down he knew they wouldn’t last. He just hoped their fling would be worth it.

Your heart dropped when you heard those words. “Why is she there?” You barked, “I don’t know I think she’s sick, she’s been visiting quite a few times recently,” Daehwi replied. “We need to find out why?” you said sounding concerned, your hand reaching for your necklace.
She had been poorly before she left you, had you holding her hostage made her that unwell. Maybe she was unwell because she missed you, a slight smile spreading across your face. You knew the feeling, your life hadn’t been the same since.
“Have her watched more,” you ordered your younger brother. You mentally heard his eyes roll and you smiled knowing that he had acquired a soft spot for her that he wouldn’t hesitate to keep a more closer eye on her. “Just make sure she doesn’t see you,” you said biting your lips. “Daehwi you haven’t told Woong have you?” you asked. “No he’s too busy filling into your shoes these days to care about anyone let alone Y/N,” he said sounding a little disappointed.
All you thought of was of Y/N, worrying for her health. Holding every memory of her the way she smelt, the Way she smiled, her smart mouth, her grip around your throat which always made you smile. The way the pain burned when she grinded alongside your days old shot wound. The wound that your own brother caused because he knew you and Y/N had fallen for each other, a permanent mark and all you had left from her.
Your thoughts was disrupted when the phone went, it was your father. He had asked for you to visit Woong, their was trouble brewing from the mess Woong and Youngmin caused with Jonghee. Apparently he was alive hanging on in intensive care like most of his fallen men. But rumours of your family link to them was floating. Your father’s concern for your brothers and their ability to deal with it had you ordered to return.
You had mixed feelings being back in the same country then Y/N. The desire to watch over her threatening to make your usual stern reasoning feel a little too fluffy for your liking.
You was sat in a local bar with Woong when your phone rang. You excused them to the quiet garden answering the phone to a worried Daehwi. “She’s back at the hospital again,” he panted. Your heart fell, she must be really poorly to be back there. “Follow her, find out what department she’s in,” you ordered. “That’s the thing Hyung, I already have and yeah well she ……….” Daehwi said before disappearing. You looked at your phone it’s lifeless black screen in your focus. “Fuck,” you cursed, the phone had died, you had come straight from the airport. You tossed your dead phone back into your pockets, your mind running through all sort of scenarios that could have her unwell.
“Are you even listening to me?” Woong growled as you was hugging your whisky. “Yes I am,” you replied, Woong’s eyes glaring over you with frustration. “Your such a liar, who was on that call that got you so lost?” he asked, looking a little concerned. “What call?” you scoffed, downing the whisky burning your throat. “The one that had you rush out to the garden to take,” Woong said raising his eyebrow at you. “That was Daehwi it was nothing, his usual droning on,” you said trying to sound uninteresting.
Woong’s phone then went off and he excused himself to leave. It wasn’t long before Donghyun arrived as he slouched next you on the stools around your table when Woong returned looking a little frazzled.
“We need to take this somewhere a little private,” he said his face looking concerned. “Their about to wake him,” he said glaring at you, your heart sunk knowing what he meant. Once he was awake he would know what your family had done.
You left the bar, but before you could get into the car your eyes widened, standing across the road behind Woong was her. Your Y/N, she looked radiant, she didn’t look unwell. “I’ll meet you back at the house,” you said to Woong before watching his quizzing Scoff and enter the car. You hastily dashed across the road following the path that you last saw Y/N. You barely saw her in the distance entering a shop with her mother.
You stumbled into the shop, your eyes searching for her, the desire to see her up close overpowering yourself. It was then you felt some hands clasp over your shoulder and you spun to see Donghyun looking at you, his eyebrows raised. “What are you doing in a baby shop?” he quizzed. But before you could even reply noticing the baby items surrounding you, his face paled as his eyes froze behind you.
“Is that Y/N?” he whispered as you spun around. Donghyun was right she was in a baby shop looking up baby clothes. Frilly pretty little dresses in her view as she was feeling the material. “Brother why is she here?” Donghyun whispered. “Maybe she’s buying a outfit for a pregnant friend,” you replied.
You then remembered your calls with Daehwi, he was about to tell you why she was at hospital. Your heart thumped, you needed to get closer, hear what she was saying. “Really?” You heard her question her mother who was gleaming with pride as she took the dresses in. “Well my granddaughter deserves the best,” she said looking at you with pride as her eyes took to your stomach. Y/N moved to her side and their was no mistake a small but defiant bump on display.
Your legs almost gave way, she was pregnant. Was that your baby? Was you about to be a dad? You stumbled reaching the clothes rack in-front. She turned your direction, you moved with her throwing yourself to the floor, your weakened legs happy to oblige as you crawled around trying not to be seen. It was then you found Donghyun. “Brother what the hell you doing,” he chuckled. You yanked his arm down. “Get down before she sees us,” you growled. “It’s just Y/N,” he chuckled trying to stand up. “She can’t see us, ever,” you scowled at him. His face looking saddened as he remembered the pact you had shared.
“What is she doing here anyway did you find out?” he said peeking through the racks. “Wait that’s a bump,” he whispered. “She’s pregnant, is that Woongs baby do you think?” He said. Your heart sunk remembering their time spent together. You knew they had slept together several times compared to your one hot time with her in the car on the way home.
The chances was that was Woong’s baby she was carrying, but the slight chance that baby was yours crept into your thoughts.
“Just because your in a baby shop doesn’t mean you have to crawl around like baby’s,” a voice chuckled above you. Daehwi was standing their arms folded but a grin at seeing his hyungs hiding. “It’s ok she left just now,” he chuckled as you stood up, you yanking his collar.
“She’s fucking pregnant and you didn’t say,” you said shaking him as he brushed your hands off him. “Hyung I did say, it’s not my fault your phone died on me,” he said scowling. “I even know there’s no father noted down too and how far gone she is,” he said smirking. “Please tell me it’s Woongs baby,” Donghyun said excitedly like a school child that earnt you scowling at him.
“Yes she’s 18 weeks pregnant, that’s our flesh and blood she’s carrying,” Daehwi said with an almost doe eyed expression. “That’s great news, because bringing a child to our world is what we want,” you scoffed, your brothers both looking at the floor saddened. “We made a deal, what ever happens we stay away, and we can’t tell Woong. We both know he would be the first to break that promise,” you said looking serious at them. “But Hyung she’s pregnant that changes things,” Daehwi said looking softened. “And that expression right their puts her and that baby in danger,” you scowled at him. “Once people realise that baby belongs to us that baby will have a price on their head,” you added. “Her head,” Daehwi replied with a sickly sweet smile, “it’s a girl,” he added his grin widening.
You felt the dizziness return when you realised it was dresses they was looking at and her mother described the baby as her granddaughter. Y/N was carrying your daughter, or possibly your daughter. You put your hand to your head to help you recompose your expression. Daehwi and Donghyun looking at you like you was a parent deciding if they could have a puppy. “That makes it worse, can you imagine what they can do to a girl especially when she gets older, or have you all forgot how we met Y/N,” you said, their face falling as they took your words. “Look I’ll ring Taehoon, I’ll get a team put on to watch and keep her safe. But we have to stay away, and not a single word to anyone. No one can know she’s carrying one of our family members babies,” you said.
You stayed longer then you should, the situation with Jonghee calming down as the attempt to wake him up not being fruitful. You was packing your belongings to go home, when Woong busted through the door. “He’s awake Woojin,” he said panting looking shaken. “If they go searching for Y/N and find her,” he gulped pausing, “I won’t ever forgive myself,” your heart thudding in its wake. You couldn’t have Y/N anywhere near you and Woong. You promised to never come back, you knew her heart couldn’t say goodbye twice. You knew she had a boyfriend, your heart splintering at the thoughts of those two together when Taehoon told you. Your heart feeling heavy at imagining those two together, that she had moved on so quickly. But at the same time you felt gratitude, he was going to keep that baby safe, play the dad you knew you could never be. A chance to be normal, have a safe life.
But things had changed. Because of Woong, because of you she was in danger, so was the baby. You reached into the draws holding the keys to your secret lodge in Baeksasil Valley. “Get Donghyun and Daehwi to take her here,” you ordered him. “While me and you find a way to bring calm down here,” you added, his face fell at your suggestion but he took the keys and left.
It wasn’t long before your meeting with Woong and your men was cut short by Daehwi and Donghyun’s return. You was taken back as they should be on their way to Baeksasil Valley and not here. You scowled as their sorrowful face met yours and Woongs. You both threw worried glances at each other across the table. You excused yourself encouraging Woong to continue with the meeting. He looked hazily at your frustration at being kept out the loop.
You three made your way to the corridor your finger on your lips before you found yourself in the business sitting room. “Please tell me you didn’t bring her here,” you spluttered. “She’s not here,” Donghyun said, his eyes refusing to meet yours. “She refused to come,” Donghyun added into the silence. “What? you telling me you left her there?” You growled. “Brother she doesn’t want anything to do with us, she told us to leave her alone, and to stop following her,” Donghyun said his eyes watering. “Could none of you drag her ass here,” you shouted, the panic rising in your throat. “She’s pregnant what did you want us to do? drag her kicking and screaming stressing her out while pregnant?” Donghyun choked.
“Well now we know it’s not Woong’s baby and that boyfriend of hers we should have done just that,” Daehwi said rolling his eyes. You gasped in his direction, “That’s right she told us to leave her, that pretty boy and there baby alone,” he said coldly. “I told you she was bad news but you and Woong wouldn’t have it,” he added. “Daehwi, and you said your the clever one, do you ever listen to Taehoon. He’s basically acting the dad, he isn’t one,” you bit out. “No brother your wrong she swore that baby was his, apparently they slept together as soon as you dropped her home. That’s how much she’s pining after us,” Donghyun said scrunching his face.
No this had to be Y/N being stubborn, she wouldn’t have told you she loved you and fallen for someone else. That baby had to be yours or if not yours Woongs, but not another.
“Wait if your here who’s watching her?” You quizzed. “She told us to go so we left, I’m not babysitting a whore,” Daehwi spluttered. “Daehwi she still pregnant and she’s still in danger because of us, because of Woong and also You,” you shouted. “What more can I fucking do,” Daehwi screamed, you felt your blood pressure rise. What had she said to turn him anti on her again. “Daehwi I’m not asking I’m telling you, get back there and watch over her, nothing’s changed,” you growled your face inches from his.
“What’s going on brother?” Woong asked entering the room not long after Donghyun and Daehwi left. “Y/N being a typical Y/N that’s all,” you said pouring a whiskey. “She refused to come didn’t she?” he asked. You knocked the whiskey back. “Can you blame her,” he added as you poured another shot. “All we’ve done is try to kill her and pimp her out,” he said as you knocked back another shot letting your throat burn. “What are we going to do?” he asked. “You and me are going to solve a way, leave Donghyun and Daehwi to keep Y/N safe,” you said pouring another shot letting the lightheaded feelings spread through you. Your brain was Beginning to hurt and you hated over thinking.
Two days had passed and you received that call the one you feared. “I don’t know how to tell you this, but they have her,” Taehoon’s voice chilled down the phone. Your heart sunk, before you could respond a curdling scream left your mouth, everything near you was thrown or smashed. Your brothers rushing to the room. Woong’s arms trying to cradle you. “They have her, They have her,” you cried as your legs went. Woong’s face paled as he fell into you, silence leaving his lips. Donghyun and Daehwi’s faces twisted to glance at each other.
Because of you, Y/N and the baby was in more danger then ever!

okay so this is gonna be my first bulletproof bulleted scenario/headcanon so wISH ME LUCK PLS
sO instead of those super duper cliche plots i’ll try to make this as cliche-ly realistic as possible haHA sike no i can’t do that
anyways
so you live in this nice suburban town where everything was nice and chill
not much happened out of the ordinary
not many people moved in and out of here
it was kinda close knit and relaxed
but then
all of sudden
in the smack dab of one summer while ur still in middle school/junior high
your parents decided to interrupt your wonderful nap to tell you that a new family moved in next door
and in your half asleep daze
you accidentally forgot that your parents invited them over for dinner
(when ur parents have more of a social life than u do e.e)
so you wake up like half an hour before dinner to your mom banging on your door and telling you to get ready
“waIT WHAT NO I’M NOT READY WHAT THE HECK MOM”
*cue frantic scrambling to look nice or else your mom would ground you for a week*
in the midst of wildly attempting to fix yourself up a doorbell rings
“y/N OPEN THE DOOR”
clumsy you decided to dash down the stairs and ended up skidding down the steps and ended up with bruises on your knees
(oUCH BE CAREFUL)
(btw you got them on ur knees bc you landed on your knees rlly hard on the last step)
but you pulled your outfit down to hide the scratches
and you rushed to the door and braced yourself for sOcIaL iNtErAcTiOn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you open the door to a kid that looks around your age !?!??!
???
you open your mouth but nothing comes out
but the boy speaks first
“hi my name is lee daehwi!! you must be y/n! nice to meet you ^_______^”
you give him a small smile and he gives one of his bright smiles back and his eyes crinkle and you feel your chest tighten bc w h a t
you’re about to introduce yourself back but then his parents appear behind him
“oh hello! you must be y/n l/n, right? your parents talked about you and we’ve heard wonderful things. i see you’ve met our son, daehwi!”
you politely greet them back and let them in
anyways so you guys end up having dinner and slightly awkward/polite convos
and the adults like talk about life so you quietly slip away and daehwi follows you to the backyard where you have a set of swings
you guys quietly swing in awkwardness bc u dunno what to say
(me in every social situation ever)
daehwi notices the scrapes on your leg and !!!!
“oH- that must hurt!!”
you look at him wildly confused like
what is he talking about
is this kid ok
but you see him kneeling down on one knee in front of you
and he has a molang bandaid in his hand
“...”
you haven’t spoken a word to him at all this entire time
and he looks up at you
you’re avoiding his eyes but you ask
“do you always carry around molang bandaids?”
he stares at you for a moment and you feel your face flush red and you’re about to get up and leave but
then he lets out a huge laugh and ruffles your head
wow he must have long freaking arms if he can reach your head while kneeling
“ah you’re cute,,” “but be more careful !!”
did he just call me cute ????
he put the bandaid on your knee and you eventually warmed up
you started talking to him about life and your fav cartoons
and before you know it your parents poked their heads outside
“y/n! daehwi! it’s time to go in”
and that’s how you met daehwi
now you guys lived next to each other
so naturally that meant that you both went to the same school
(this isn’t some private academy or gender specific school scenario haha)
at school
as much as you wished to be with daehwi you sadly weren’t in the same class as him (y u gotta be so cruel)
bc of his gr8888 personality and cute looks he was really popular even in middle school
y’all didn’t talk much in school bc of separate classes and diff friend groups
but he would walk with you home
and you guys would talk about almost everything
you considered him your best friend which was amazing since you had only met him only awhile ago
on the weekends sometimes he’d climb over the fence with popsicles and you’d both chill on the swings and hang out
just the two of you
nobody knew you both were really close tho cuz they didn’t see you guys together in school
then high school came
you eventually matured and grew a little taller (THANK GOD) (you also got even more gorgeous if that was possible)
but
oh boy
daehwi on the other hand
he got a complete glo up
he dyed his hair from black to a sandy blond which made him eyecandy for 90% of the student body
his chubby cheeks lost their fat and he became a lil toned from athletics and sports and dancing
everyone loved him
tbh you felt a little insecure bc wow he had changed so much and here you were
(DON’T WORRY READER I LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE AND IK UR AMAZING SO DON’T FEEL INSECURE AT ALL <333)
you hadn’t seen daehwi in awhile since he was so busy with everything in and outside of school :(((
man this boi was doing everything and working his lil ambitious butt off
but
you did well with academics and had your own passions too
but seeing daehwi made you feel a lil incompetent so you subconsciously avoided him when he wasn’t busy to walk home
and at home
things were getting kinda rough with all the expectations put upon you by your family
and you had so many activities you were getting rlly rlly stressed out
and your friends tried to help but you were getting stuck in a hole you had dug
all you knew was to study, work, sleep, eat and repeat
you didn’t remember the last time you genuinely laughed or did anything for fun
it wasn’t a good situation at all :”c
daehwi worked rlly hard too
cuz he was going thru a similar struggle
but
you worked so much harder than he did
and it was noticeable
daehwi would always notice that the light in your window would always be on even after he went to bed
and you hadn’t been going outside to your swing lately
but he felt bad bc he hadn’t talked to you in awhile
until one day he got a text from your friend asking him to talk to you
????
alarms started to go off in his head bc
nOOoOoooO his y/n
during the weekend you were so tired you didn’t know what to do anymore
school was being a huge pain in the ass
you couldn’t even function
what was life anymore
and that’s when you heard a knock on your door
you groan and slightly bang your head on the table in frustration bc
who?? what?? WHY NOW??
you trudge to the door looking like a hot mess (in reality you look as beautiful as ever c; )
you open the door
and there’s daehwi in sweatpants and a sweatshirt holding a molang plushie and some bags in his arms
“hey y/n”
“d-daehwi???”
??????????????????????
“what r u doing here??? don’t u have dance practice now??”
he shakes his head no and lets himself in
you’re standing there shocked
daehwi’s acting as if nothing was wrong and he’d been doing this for awhile now
so as he starts unloading things from the bags onto the kitchen counter
“i brought your fav drinks, spicy ramen, and some candy! you’ve been looking a little malnourished nowadays y/n-ie, make sure to take care of yours-”
he looks over
and
as much as you try to control yourself
you start sniffling bc w o w he did this for you?? and it meant a lot??
and he sees you covering your eyes a little and he knows that you don’t cry very much often (nOooOoooo don’t cry love)
and he walks over and ruffles your hair and gives you a big warm hug that you didn’t know you had been missing for awhile
and you just bury your face into his comfy sweater and drown in his love bc
<3333
and he just draws circles into your back until you calm down
so you decide to relax and take a break
but
he notices while you help put the food away
you had cuts on your hands/arms???
you were always clumsy and would get random injuries from doing basic tasks and not even know
and he tsked
you looked over in confusion
and WAPOW
he magically holds out a molang bandaid
and he gently holds your finger as he puts the bandaids on the cuts
and chides you for being so careless
“y/n take care of yourself!!!”
you just laugh
bc daehwi hasn’t changed a bit on the inside
he was still the cute kid from middle school who carried molang bandaids around 24/7
(srsly tho)
and you guys decide to eat some snacks and watch cartoons together
just like back when y’all first met
AWW THE CUTE MEMORIES
and you’re dozing off a lil
and daehwi looks over and you’re leaning towards the side of the couch
but he gently tilts your head onto his shoulder
and he smiles lovingly at you bc
he finally got to see you again after awhile
and
here you were
being so soft and lovely as always
and he presses a light kiss onto your head
u stirred a little bc you were having such a great dream
and you felt something on your head???
and you woke up all sleepy and cute
and you saw daehwi flushed bright red
bc SHOOT
UR AWAKE
NO
THIS WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SMOL CUTE ROMANTIC MOMENT THAT ONLY DAEHWI KNEW ABOUT
and you’re trying to comprehend wtf just happened
“daehwi...”
“did u just kiss my head or did i imagine that”
nOW YOU GUYS HADN’T TALKED IN AWHILE
BUT YOU KNEW THE TELLTALES OF WHEN HE WAS LYING
HE LEARNED HOW TO COVER HIS TRACKS
but he couldn’t control the redness of the tips of his ears
and you saw his ears turn.. pink?
w h a t
you freeze for a moment
and process that
your best friend who was also ur neighbor had just kissed you on the head
(secretly screaming on the inside bc WE ALL KNEW THAT THIS WAS COMING)
you look up at him again and he’s fiddling with his hands in awkwardness bc wtf was he gonna do now
he got caught
and you just giggle slightly
bc aww look at the perfect daehwi being all flustered
you muster up some courage
bc
you knew
you liked him too
who wouldn’t?
and you pecked his cheek
and he looked up in surprise
huh???
“you... you like me back???”
“well if i didn’t i would’ve probably kicked you out by now you idiot”
his face turns from consternations to joy
and he smiles
like even the sun couldn’t stand a chance against this boy’s smile
and he just ruffles your hair
and you guys just cuddle on the couch
and soon fall asleep
and you knew that you had a lot to deal with now
and it would be hard
but at least you had your family and friends to help
and ofc
daehwi
your boy next door
-
“u don’t live in a house anymore”
“what???”
“daehwi wtf r u talking about”
“i’ve saved you in my heart now”
“from now on you live in my heart and my heart only”
“oh my GOD”
“istfg I’M GONNA KILL PARK JIHOON”
a/n: hey everyone! i hope everyone’s been doing well lol sry for the lack of updates!! i’ve been in school and i haven’t had time to do much but thank you for reading this and i hope you enjoyed it! i’ll be writing for wanna one from now on too so look out for them scenarios <3333

《First and last love》
[AB6IX Daehwi, R18 oneshot]
Pairing: Daehwi x Fem!reader
Note: Image(s) is not mine and credit goes to its original owner.
Tumblr media
Summary: Forbidden love --- You, a scientist, had participated in the creation of a male android, designed to serve women for pleasure.  “Daehwi,” the android, has been attached to you ever since he was created. He fell in love with you in the process. But love between humans and androids was not approved by the law of science.
"Master, tell me the warmth and taste of your lips.'' Your thoughts were cut short when Daehwi's rough but soft lips jabbed into mine. The kiss was heated from the beginning. He was kissing you roughly and you were trying to kiss him with the same amount of energy back.
"Master..." He grabbed your thighs, sending shivers down your spine while he pulled you up. You wrapped your legs around his waist and he slammed you against a wall. You wrapped your arms around his neck and grabbed his hair as one of his arms circled around your waist, the other was running up your stomach.
"Master..." He bit your lower lip for access. You hesitated but let him in. He kissed all around your mouth. "Master's mouth..." Exploring every inch and encircling your tongue with his. "...feels so warm." His hand reached up to your nipple and proceeded to rub circles on it. You moaned into his mouth and he got rougher with his tongue. You pulled away for a breath quickly.
"That's how you should service your future master," you said breathlessly, "Daehwi-" before you could finish your sentence, he smashed back into your lips.
Daehwi's tongue was now less rough but still hot. He squeezed your nipples which caused you to moan and squeeze his waist tightly. You could feel him getting harder by the minute. He settled you down on the floor, not breaking the kiss and unbuckled his belt. He then picked you back up and rammed you on the wall, putting his thigh in between your legs. He rubbed you slowly and then faster and faster. You started moaning non-stop to the point where the experiment laboratory was filled with your lewd sounds.
He stopped kissing you, followed by moving to your jaw and sucked deeply. He went lower and lower. Every time he stopped, he would lick a spot and kiss it. He was grinding against your groin while undressing you.
Once your bra was off, you could feel the cool air graze against your skin. You were a bit mortified to see your breast bare. Meanwhile, Daehwi was mesmerized to have a small apple cupped in his hand, with a dark berry for a nipple. "Cherries," he murmured as his thumb and forefinger gently pinched it.
"Ahn! S-So sensitive...Daehwi, gently please," upon seeing your reaction, he started sucking your nipples. He licked around them and tugged on them with his flexible tongue. He was pleased to see you breathlessly moaning at his service.
"Master...I can't take it any longer." He snuck his hand into your pants. He slapped your pussy and started fingering you with his warm hands. You were moaning really loud and he quickly slammed his lips onto yours. "Master, if you're too loud, people will hear." You knew that you shouldn't be that loud but his touch made it hard to keep your voice in.
You kissed him back as hard as you could. He played with your nipples again with his other hand. When he sucked on your neck. you felt your muscles tense up and before you realized it, you came all over his hand. He kept fingering to drag the orgasm as far as he could. After you came, he let go of you.
"Time to reward you, Daehwi~" You grabbed his hand and pulled him towards you. It was your turn now.
You grabbed his hair and kissed him again, slipping your tongue in his mouth. He tasted like peppermint. You reached for his crotch and just as you thought, he was as hard as a diamond. Lifting his shirt up, you licked all the way down his abs until you got to his waist band. You pulled his jeans and boxers down. By far, his cock was the biggest you've ever seen.
"Master, I don't think you should. I'm meant to be serving you-" You sucked on his balls to shut him up. You licked from the bottom of his cock to the tip, earning the most beautiful whimper ever heard from him. You circled your tongue on the tip and let your tongue rub up against it. Another hottest moan was heard.
"Master...more please," he grabbed your hair and you took him in whole. You almost gagged but adjusted till it wasn't painful. You bobbed your head and he groaned multiple times which sent your head spinning from the pleasure. He tugged your hair harder and forcefully moved your head up and down. Your throat made a humming sound which sent him over the edge. Finally, he came in your mouth and you swallowed all of it.
"I love you." He pulled you up one more time and gazed at you intently, hoping to get a reply back from you.
"I lo-" You were about to answer him that you felt the same. However, you let him go and stared at each other. processing what just happened. "Ma'am, are you in there?" You heard someone knocking on the door of the lab, triggering the alarm in your head. You sent Daehwi a look and he instantly got the message. Both of you quickly got dressed.
"Come in." The door opened to reveal your assistant, San.
"What is it?" You questioned in a monotone voice.
"It seems that a customer has requested for android Daehwi. May I know if he's ready to be delivered?"
Your heart dropped to your stomach upon knowing of the news, you stole a glance at Daehwi, he mouthed the words, "please don't let me go, I don't want to leave you".
"Ma'am?"
You were in a dilemma. You had been with him since the moment he was created. He was attached to you for as long as you could remember. As much as you hate to admit it, you had fallen for him too. You didn't want to let him go but you knew you had to be professional at the same time.
"By the way, the customer asked for a permanent service, not a temporary one."
You looked at him one last time. His eyes were begging you not to send him away. If you let him go, you're certain that you would not see him again. But if you don't let him go, your secret affair with him may be found out by others and you may risk your career. You wished you know the solution to your problem.
"Ma'am, do you need some time to think about it? I can always reject the offer-"
"No, it's alright, I made up my mind." Daehwi's eyes lit up, he knew that you felt the same as him. After all, your love was meant to stay.
"He's ready."
His eyes welled up with tears and began to flow out uncontrollably. He ran to you and held the bottom of your lab coat. You slapped his hand away and your face darkened subsequently.
"Send him away. Quickly." You waved your hand off.
"Yes, Ma'am. Please take him away." Another two scientists, Yeonjun and Sunghoon, appeared behind San, one of them at each side of Daehwi, they had to drag him as he was pulling at your sleeves.
"NOOOO, MASTER!!! PLEASE DON'T!! MASTERRRRRRR!!!!!!" His voice became fainter as he disappeared out of your sight.
You locked the door and turned around, dropping to the floor with a thud. Your tough front cracked and you wailed loudly, making sure to release all your anger and sadness. No matter how you tried to wipe them away, they kept on flowing. Your heart was throbbing tremendously, the pain you felt couldn't be described in words. You cried and cried until you were numb to the pain.
You had fallen in love with an android. But love between humans and androids was not approved by the law of science. In the end, you couldn't defy the law and chose to let him go. You protected your job but at what cost? You had lost him forever.
/TIMESKIP/
You chanced upon a photograph you took with Daehwi 10 years ago. 10 years ago, you were young and in love. But now, something has changed. You no longer felt the butterflies in your stomach when you recalled the memories spent with him. You then proceeded to throw the photo into a nearby bin.
10 years ago, you fell in love. But this love was not meant to be.

Hit Me Up?
super short oneshot featuring lee daehwi as your love interest; you play hard to get; university au!
read the sequel here
“Here’s your small mocha,” you smiled at the customer, handing their drink over to them. You worked at a café on campus, and despite its busy and long yours, you enjoyed your time there.
“I need one large iced Americano!” Your co-worker Jaehwan called loudly, and you nodded at him, quickly preparing the drink in the cup that Jaehwan handed you.
“Here’s one large iced Americano for…” you quickly checked the name, and groaned when you saw it, “Daehwi.”
“Thanks, love,” Lee Daehwi, resident sweetheart and genuine pain in the ass, winked at you as he collected his drink.
“Keep walking, punk,” you rolled your eyes as he blew you a kiss, heading out. Daehwi and you had gone to the same high school together, but when you entered university, he’d suddenly gotten super hot. Most girls drooled over him, but since you’d seen the nerdy side of Lee Daehwi who danced enthusiastically to girl group songs, you really didn’t see the appeal.
“Wow, (Y/N), so cold,” Jaehwan snickered at your look of disgust.
“He comes here every single day asking for the same drink with some stupid new pickup line,” you sighed, pushing your messy hair out of your eyes, “it’s getting really old.”
“He’s cute, though,” Jaehwan smirked at you, “I can tell you totally think so.”
“I mean, yeah, he’s cute,” you shrugged nonchalantly, “but I’m not gonna go date a player just because he’s cute. I don’t want to get hurt.” No way in a million years would you tell people that you actually had a small crush on Daehwi in high school.
“Hey, your shift’s almost over,” Jaehwan commented, checking the clock, “you can just leave now, if you want?”
“Thanks, oppa!” You smile widely, quickly taking off your apron and collecting your things. Happy that you were able to get off work early, you walked cheerfully back to your dorm, scrolling through your social media feeds. As you were about to unlock the door to your room, you noticed something on the doorstep—a bouquet of roses.
You plucked the small card from the bouquet, narrowing your eyes as you caught sight of the ~lee daehwi
Why did he insist on constantly giving you things and trying to win over your affection? You knew that as soon as you said yes—if you did at all—two days later, you’d be kicked to the curb in favor of his next romantic pursuit. That’s just how Lee Daehwi was.
+
“(Y/N),” Lee Daehwi stood in front of you, arms crossed. You looked up from your notebook, which you were trying to set up before class started.
“What do you want, Daehwi-ah?” you asked, not really in the mood to deal with Daehwi.
Daehwi ruffled his hair with his fingers and took the seat next to you. “Go on a date with me, (Y/N).”
“What?” you jolted in your seat, surprised that Daehwi would go so far in his little game as to ask you out on a date.
“Why do you keep rejecting me, (Y/N),” Daehwi whined, looking up at you with his wide, adorable eyes, “I don’t understand it, what did I ever do wrong?”
“You date like twenty girls a week!” You hissed, frustrated that he wouldn’t leave you alone, “and regardless, I’m not having this conversation here, in the middle of a lecture hall.”
Daehwi frowned at you, crossing his arms. You hoped that he’d just give up, but at the end of class, he grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the room, all the way to the courtyard.
“There, now we’re out in the open,” Daehwi shouted, lifting his arms up, “Will you date me now, (Y/N)?”
“Maybe if you would stop fucking a different girl every night, I’d consider it,” you shot back, folding your arms. As soon as you said it, you covered your mouth, eyes wide open. Daehwi froze, and a slow smile crept on his face.
“So you admit that you’d maybe date me,” he said slyly, getting closer to you.
“I said maybe,” you replied, crossing your arms as well, “and the conditions are take it or leave it.”
Daehwi grinned and wrapped an arm around your neck, jumping for joy. “I’d leave everything for you baby.”
“Yah, Lee Daehwi, those pick-up lines may have worked on other girls, but they won’t work for me!”

you’d be watching a horror movie together
knowing him, he would be scared right with you
would cling onto you for dear life
he wouldn’t even try to hide his fright from you
he’s warm. and cozy
his arms around you (squeezing you), and his head being pressed into your neck
shy giggles
after the movie is over, you both would sleep in each other’s arms, scared that the monsters would get you if you were to detach from one another.
“let’s cuddle all night so the monsters don’t eat us!”
Kim Donghyun
Tumblr media
you both would be walking though a haunted house
you were already gripping his hand for dear life, feeling it get clammy with how scared you were
at first it’s fine, but then oh no
a random jump scare makes you scream, and you practically jump into Donghyun’s arms
he was shocked too, but when he saw your trembling form, he chuckles
your grip on him would be very tight
wraps his arms around you, pressing gentle kisses to your temple
whispers gentle words into your ear, and rubs your back

he was busy searching for clues on how to escape, and you would be right next to him
wouldn’t want to leave his side, and honestly, he wasn’t complaining
all of a sudden, a shrill scream is sounded over the speakers, scaring the living daylights out of you
you jump, grasping Woojin’s arm tightly, as you squeeze your eyes in fright
he only looks at you with an amused face, ready to make fun of you, until he saw how scared you really were
presses a soft kiss to your nose, and caresses your cheek
“baby, you’re so silly. you really think I’ll let you get hurt?”
Lee Daehwi
Tumblr media
you two would be watching a horror tv show
he would scream here and there, because we all know this boy doesn’t like horror
as the show progresses, you suddenly see one of your worst fears pop up on screen
you yelp in fright, and then bite your lip, as you feel tears threatening to fall
you grab onto Daehwi’s hand, interlacing your fingers, and holding it tightly
he would freeze, turning to you, and watching at how you practically burry your face into his neck, and hold him tight
after seeing how scared you were, his fears would fly out the window, as he pulls you into his lap, and hugs you tightly
his fingers would play with your hair, and soft kisses would be pressed all over your face
“it’s okay to be scared angel. I’m here.”

Boys and Girls
Prompt: #131 for @clairince77 – “I got tired of waiting.”
clairince77 said:
Can I request a fluffy #131 with Daehwi?
Pairing: Lee Daehwi x reader
Genre: university au / fluff
Warnings: none
Word count: 719
Tumblr media
There was a lot that you enjoyed in life. The taste of ice-cream on a summer’s day. Rain falling on the roof in a soothing rhythm. Cats and all their mystical ways.
And seeing your boyfriend waiting for you.
Grinning, you waved when you caught Daehwi’s eye, breaking out into a faster gait so you could reach him quickly. He caught you effortlessly despite his somewhat bashful laugh. “Y/N!”
“What? I missed you,” you countered, looking at him and puckering up your lips. Daehwi ran a hand through his hair awkwardly before leaning down to kiss you. What was clearly meant to be a peck turned deeper with your efforts. You had worked so hard in class today that you felt your energy was only coming back to you through his lips. Finally, you stepped back and admired your handiwork.
“You need to stop doing that, we’re in public,” he chided and you shook your head animatedly.
“Why should I? I love kissing you.”
“And I do too but… I like it in private more than out here for everyone to see.”
Daehwi led you back to his car, unlocking the door for you to get in and climbed into the driver’s seat. As soon as his door was shut, you leaned over and captured his lips in a breathtaking kiss.
When he managed to catch his breath again, Daehwi shot you an incredulous look. “What are you doing?!”
“I thought you liked kissing me in private more,” you teased, smirking as you put on your seatbelt. “There’s no one here who can see us.”
Daehwi shook his head with a chuckle. “One day, you’ll be the death of me.”
Tumblr media
It wasn’t always playful. More often than not, as your relationship with Daehwi progressed, he stopped waiting for you as much as he had in the beginning.
“I got tired of waiting,” he proclaimed one time.
“It’s raining; I don’t want to catch a cold. You were alright taking the bus, right?”
“I wouldn’t have made it there in time.”
It made you disgruntled and mourn the loss of your boyfriend’s previous chivalry.
“Do you think he’s not that into me anymore?” you asked Woojin in class one morning and your mutual friend glanced at you and frowned.
“Daehwi? He idolises you!”
“He doesn’t prioritise me anymore,” you admitted with a pout. “It’s silly, but I liked when he’d surprise me by turning up and wait for me after class.”
Woojin grinned. “But it’s not a surprise if you expect it.”
“Yes but…”
“Have you told him this?”
You shook your head. “Not yet.”
“Maybe you should. I’m sure there’s a good reason for why Daehwi isn’t meeting up with you on campus anymore.”
Later that week, you decided to put Woojin’s advice into action, no longer able to take it. You rolled over on your bed to glance over at Daehwi sitting writing a song over on your desk. “Hwi.”
“Mm?”
“Can we talk?”
“Five minutes, Y/N,” he requested hastily, still scribbling in his book.
“No, now,” you confirmed and Daehwi groaned before looking at you pointedly.
His expression eased when he noted yours. “Are you okay?”
“No. Something’s bothering me. Why don’t you pick me up anymore? Did I kiss you one too many times in the car and put you off of it?”
“What? No. I like kissing you.”
“Then how come-”
“I was giving you the out,” Daehwi announced and you frowned.
“An out?”
“I overheard you saying you don’t like clingy guys, and well, I thought that maybe me taking the time to pick you up after your classes ended each day was getting to be a bit too much for you.”
You blinked. “I said that?”
“To Sori,” he commented and you gasped noisily.
“Oh my God, Daehwi! I was agreeing with her! She was dealing with someone really overbearing! So I was just supporting her decision to leave him! I don’t see you as clingy at all!”
“Why do you say something you don’t dislike?”
“For support!”
“Girls are weird,” he breathed and you laughed.
“So are boys.”
Daehwi grinned, moving over on to the bed and pulled you in for a hug. “I’ll pick you up tomorrow.”
“You promise?”

"Thanks for the invitation," Daniel pulled Yoo Man in for a hug, realising the number of people at the party was significantly lesser than before he left to send So Jung home.
"No problem. Geundae... have you seen So Jung?" Yoo Man craned his neck, looking around.
"Ah... I sent her home."
Yoo Man blinked, visually astonished.
"Anni, Jae Woong turned up--"
"Ahh... Arrasseo. Understood." Yoo Man nodded immediately, patting Daniel on his shoulder. Daniel looked upon him, confused. Yoo Man merely gave a lighthearted laugh before turning Daniel around by the shoulders and ushering him out.
"BYe!" Yoo Man laughed, waving goodbye before closing the door.
Seong Woo rushed off to the larger 6-seater SUV, grabbing hold onto the car handle.
"Yah inma! You had beer just now didn't you?" Minhyun yelled, watching Jihoon, Jaehwan, Guan Lin and Daniel who headed for the passenger’s seat.
"Get your ass over here! There is no way I'm letting you drive after watching you down that mug of beer. Min Hyun will drive the SUV tonight." Jisung shouted from infront, the 3 younger ones seated in the back. Seong Woo pouted, exchanging glances with Daniel.
"Don't look at me, you're the one who drank." Daniel shrugged, opening the passenger door seat of the SUV. Seong Woo made a "hmph" sound, before dragging his feet to the smaller car. Minhyun sat in the drivers' seat of the SUV, with Daniel in the passenger seat and Jaehwan, Guan Lin and Jihoon from the left to right at the back. Jisung drove the smaller car, with Seong Woo who was yawning in the passenger seat and the 3 younger ones completely knocked out in the back.
As the car drove out of the mansion property, Daniel looked at the wing mirror, noticing Jihoon staring blankly out of the window as he sat right behind him. Jihoon had not said anything since their persuasion to get him to attend the party, and he was pretty sure Jihoon was only in the arcade room because he was the oldest out of the maknae line and saw it as an obligation to be there.
"Huh?" Min Hyun raised a brow, suddenly stopping the car. Jisung's car stopped suddenly, their apartments only 5 minutes’ drive away.
"Jisung ah, give me ears and eyes on what's going on." Min Hyun pressed a button on the panel of the car. They had mechanically installed a walkie-talkie radio system between their cars.
"There's a woman on the road. Holding a knife. She's just sitting there, in the middle of the road." Jisung sounded worried.
Min Hyun and Daniel exchanged glances, well aware that Jisung's car was in a much more vulnerable position as the members in his car were either intoxicated or knocked out from the day's work.
"I'll go." Jihoon's voice sounded from the back. Guan Lin and Jaehwan looked to him as he pulled a knife from under the car seat together with its glove.
"I'll go. Drive up further to level up with Jisung's car and make sure the kids are out of reach." Min Hyun quickly instructed before pushing the door open and running after Jihoon. Jisung noticed Jihoon's shadow from behind him before he even saw him.
"Don't get too near," Jisung grabbed hold of Jihoon's arm. "I think she's on drugs. Her eyes are way too red for her to be drunk." Jisung whispered.
"We're trained for this, it'll be okay. I'll see if I can figure out what's going on." Jihoon replied, his eyes trying to convince Jisung. Minhyun rushed over to Jisung's side, watching Jihoon carefully approach the woman. Daniel had the SUV levelled up with the smaller car, watching Jisung and Minhyun's back face the cars. The woman's grip on the knife was so tight that the groves on the handle had bruised her palms, her breathing was unstable and she was muttering some incoherent words.
"Put the knife down, and we'll help you." Jihoon raised his palms, showing that he wasn't armed. The woman suddenly remained still, before surging forward and swinging the knife at her arm's length, nearly slitting Jihoon's face. Jihoon backed up, barely missing the tip of the knife. He grabbed the woman's forearm and pulled her into an armlock, forcing her onto her knees and dropping the knife.
Minhyun rushed over and pulled up her eyelids, noticing how swollen and red they were.
"She's intoxicated. Get the police." Minhyun instructed Jisung, who fished out his phone and dialled the number. They got out some plastic ties from the car and strapped her wrists and ankles together, moving her to the grass patch by the side of the road. Jihoon sat there, a few feet away from her, who was shaking and swaying back and forth in her position.
"Head back first. Jihoon and I will make sure she gets to the police station." Minhyun suggested to Jisung, who listened well and returned to the car. As Jisung's car moved off, Daniel drove up infront of Minhyun and rolled down the window.
"How are you guys getting back?" Daniel raised a brow.
"Cab. Public transport. It's not that far away, we can handle ourselves." Minhyun smiled, looking back at Jihoon.
Daniel nodded before rolling the windows back up and driving off.
"Nam Min Ji?"
"Yes... Who is this?" Min Ji swiped the tears of her face, choking into the receiver.
"This is the state police. Your mother is Lee Mi Young?"
"...yes." Min Ji croaked, her eyes threatening to release more tears.
"She reportedly assaulted someone. She's now at the state police station and the people who reported her are here to. I'm not sure if they are going to press charges--"
"I'll go. Just... I'm not taking her back."
"Understood. We'll be taking her to the rehab centre at 1.30am."
Min Ji carefully pushed the door of the station open, her eyes catching the movement of the two officers who looked up from the desk.
"I'm here to look for Lee Mi Young?" She asked, loud enough for the officers to hear. One of the officers nodded, dragging himself out of his seat. He led her into the detaining room, with two males sitting on the bench in one section of the room, with her mother in the detaining section. She was just sitting on the ground, her fingers wrapped around her ankles as she rocked back and forth in her position.
Min Ji scanned the males' faces, unable to believe her eyes.
"Hwang Minhyun, Class 5 Literature and Linguistics and... you." Min Ji stared at Jihoon, his almond shaped eyes that held such clear and sparkling eyes. His face was symmetrical and god, he looked like an angel.
"We're not pressing charges." Minhyun got up and bowed, giving her a small smile, understanding her position.
"I'll make sure none of this gets out to the school tomorrow. Rest well." Jihoon stood up after Minhyun finished his sentence, leaving the detaining room before Minhyun did. The older boy looked at Jihoon's back, before returning to Min Ji's distraught and confused face. With one last bow, he bid her goodbye and left the detaining room, leaving a daughter and her lost mother.

Welcome back after five weeks hope your ready for a dramatic twelve weeks due to the 2-3k words on average per Chapter compared to the 1-2k words I be doing one Chapter per week instead of two.
“Y/N,” The Radiographer called, “That’s us,” you whispered to your bump as you patted. “Ready?” your mum said holding her hand out.
It was your 18 week scan, you was nervous, excited and scared all at once. You entered the darkened room greeting the staff and obeying their instructions.
It wasn’t long before you saw your baby on the screen moving just as you felt they was doing inside you. Their was no mistake your child had their father’s family temper. Your stomach and especially your spine being their very own punch bag. “This one’s quite an active littlein,” the radiographer said as she placed the transducer over your stomach. Grimacing as your unborn child made her job harder she checked to make sure that they was growing well. “Y/N’s always moaning the cherub’s keeping her up,” your mother chuckled. “He is ok isn’t he?” You asked, looking worried at her silence. “Oh, sorry so far so good, just,” she went silent before finishing her sentence. “Did you say he?,” she asked. “Well yes in my head i suppose that’s what I imagine,” you smiled. You imagined him just like Woojin, his temper, his grumpiness, but his smile, the rare one he shone that warmed your heart, even though you knew that the very chance was this baby could be his brothers.
“Well I think you might be a little disappointed then,” she smiled as the news sunk in. “Wait, it’s a girl?” you asked. You never imagined you could be having a daughter. Woong’s pretty features flashing your mind as you easily could imagine his daughter. “Yes, and from what I can see a very active but healthy girl,” she said, handing you a paper towel to mop the gel from your Stomach.
“Your husband will no doubt be going grey from that unexpected news,” she chuckled, your face falling. “I’m not married,” you confessed. “The dad isn’t around,” you added tears threatening you. The radiographer apologised and went to write in your notes.
You held your hand over your stomach, your heart hurting yet a strong protectiveness growing. You could do this, be a single mum, keep this bundle safe and away from the very world that Four months ago you didn’t want to leave. Their was a time that you would have done anything to be near Woojin again. But now you had felt your child move in your body, your desire to keep her safe so fierce and so strong, them finding out you was pregnant scared you. You needed to keep your little girl safe from their world, even if your heart ached over Woojin’s absence in your life.
Your mother had dragged you to the baby store the second you emerged from the hospital. The proud grandmother excitedly looking through the baby girls clothes section looking at dresses. You smiled as she got lost in her excitement when you saw something odd from the corner of your eyes. Someone was watching you.
You spun around looking at the empty spot where you swore you saw him. You was certain your body felt the very energy of him there near you. Your mind was then taken to your stomach as your unborn daughter decided to kick really hard. You swore she was validating his presence, could she feel him or was your mind playing tricks? “You ok Y/N?” your mum asked. “Yeah,” you lied. The thought that Woojin had found you pregnant and buying baby clothes scared you at the same time then making your heart feel warmth.
You somehow though tried to convince yourself that your mind was playing tricks with you.
Weeks had passed and you swore at the corner of your eyes you felt your very movements being watched. It unnerved you but sometimes brought you comfort as if Woojin was watching over you. You had a mixture of happiness but sadness that he hadn’t made himself appear. Your pregnancy hormones making you a bag of confusion.
Flora had to dash, she had made arrangements with Yuto to drive you home after leaving you to close the bar. You went to the back to put the rubbish out and found two blokes leaning by a car, feet from you. They straightened theirselves standing and started approaching. “You need to come with us,” one growled. You knew the moment you feared had come.
Woojin had come for you, but he should know better to think you would do as you was told. “You can tell Woojin that I’m sorry but I will have to decline,” you said bitterly stepping backwards towards the door. “That’s so cute she thinks Woojin sent us,” the longer hair shorter man chuckled to his accomplice. Your heart fell, Woong had sent them, of course he would, only you and Woojin knew you slept together and you knew Woojin would likely not have spilled that secret.
Before you could answer a gun shot went off missing them by inches. They looked startled and looked to the right of them. The muscular one of the two scowling as he stepped forward. “Next time I won’t miss, i promise,” you heard a voice that instantly made you smile. “I wouldn’t piss him off, you know what men and their whores are like,” you heard the high bitchiness pierce the air.
Your eyes widening as you took Donghyun and Daehwi in. Donghyun’s face more scrunched up, the gun aiming at the two men, looking a lot more fiercer then you remembered. Daehwi his usually air and graces as he raised an eyebrow at you. “And that whore is ours,” he said, his eyes not leaving you.
Another shot bellowed out this time it impacted with the muscular man’s leg, he buckled looking surprised. Seven men you knew who was Woojin’s appeared, guns all aimed at both the men, “Last warning,” Daehwi threatened. The men heeded the warnings and hastily left, the car screeching as it left you all.
You instantly wrapped Your arms around Donghyun as he chuckled into you. You went to hug Daehwi before he backed away. “I don’t think so missy,” he shot out. “I’m sure that wasn’t in the deal when we let you free,” he added pointing his finger at your bump.
Your heart dropped they knew, you knew you hadn’t imagined it.
“They know?” You said twiddling your fingers. “Did you think we would leave you unguarded?” Donghyun said smiling as he walked towards you. “To your question Woong doesn’t know,” Daehwi said raising an eyebrow. “Woojin decided it was best he didn’t know, otherwise your ass would have been dragged back home,” Donghyun said his hands holding yours. “But this changes things, this you living a normal life it’s not safe for you Y/N or the baby,” Donghyun added. “It’s time to come home Y/N,” he said placing his hand over your belly, “both of you.”
You stepped backwards your mind racing, this was the very thing you didn’t want. Woojin knew you was pregnant and he didn’t come, and Woong was still blissfully unaware. That world wasn’t safe for you let alone your baby. Donghyun’s face fell watching your mind race. “I can’t Donghyun, I have a life here,” you said. Daehwi rolled his eyes, “their was me thinking you had changed now your becoming a mum, but nope,” Daehwi scoffed. “Your world it’s not safe for me and my baby,” you said, taking another step back as Daehwi stood closer, his jaw clenching. “Y/N they know your pregnant, they know your linked to us, your in more danger then ever and if you think for a second I’m letting my own flesh and blood be put in danger you can think again,” Daehwi spluttered. “Y/N the second Woong finds out he’s coming for you anyway, that’s his baby it’s not safe,” Donghyun said softly.
Your heart beating as the words slipped out, “It’s not Woongs baby.” Though it was a half lie you heart broke telling it nevertheless. Donghyun looked confused as Daehwi rolled his eyes, “Y/N stop lying we all know you and Woong was sleeping together and the dates all add up. Don’t mistake this pretty face for being as dumb as them,” he said.
Your face fell, “how would you know my dates?” you asked. Daehwi’s eyebrows raised as if you was asking a dumb question. Of course Woojin found out your dates, he was the kind of man to find that information. “Well if you know the dates you would know that I fell pregnant when I got home. Remember Daehwi I’m a whore,” you spat out.
“Ok you expect me to believe that,” Daehwi chuckled.
“Well yes because this baby’s mine,” a voice behind said, your heart thumping as those familiar arms pulled you in. Donghyun and Daehwi eyes raised almost in shock.
You gulped at how much your boyfriend had heard!

In a matter of a day, many things could happen. In fact, in less than 24 hours, your best friend was found injured, his broken arm in a cast as he trudged his way to the boxing club, Woojin looking over him with worried glances as he walked by his side. You rushed out of the door as fast as your legs could carry you. Your uneven breathing was not caused by your quick feet but was due to the worry and panick enveloping your chest as you see your dear friend hissing in pain just by the slightest sudden movement. Without hesitation, your feet brought you right in front of him, taking him aback as he stared back into your teary eyes.
"What happened? You didn't answer my texts last night at all," you questioned him as you glanced over to the casted arm, bruises still evident and fresh on his knuckles. His eyes lowered once your eyes travelled back to his, guilt swallowing him up just by the tone of your voice.
"We ran into some guys, that's all," he mumbled in reply before slipping past you, towards the boxing club building. It felt like an arrow had been shot right through your chest as you looked at the figure of his back facing towards you. There never was a time when Jihoon would hide something from you aside from surprising you on your birthday. And today was indeed not a special day. Well, you planned for it to be one but with what the situation had turned into, you felt that it was best to keep your feelings aside and go head on into the problem at hand first. His pain was far more important than a confession.
Woojin gave you a weak smile before sighing, a sign you knew too well whenever Jihoon was facing problems he would never tell anyone. Not even you or Woojin - his best of friends.
"He's been like this ever since he found out the dude broke his arm. He wouldn't even utter a single word when he was done with the surgery. If this continues on, I'm afraid he might just drop boxing altogether," Woojin mumbled as he walked beside you, afraid that his words would further upset his friend. You inhaled deeply, trying your best to absorb the sudden flood of information as Woojin continued to whisper the incident that happened the night before.
"If he's quitting boxing, where will he go to?" The thought of not being able to see him achieve his dreams felt like a nightmare. Ever since the two of you had been acquainted in middle school, all he ever talked about was dreaming to attain achievements and trophies in boxing, constantly mimicking punches and upper cuts from competitions that were broadcasted in the middle of the night.
"Beats me. But I'm not going to just stand here and see him mope. We have to think up of something, and quick," Woojin sighed frustratedly. Albeit the heavy tension between the three of you, he shined his signature snaggletooth smile as he ruffled your hair.
"You better don't mope along with him or you'll give me twice the worry, okay?" You nodded your headed firmly, your smile mirroring his before he jogged over to the mats to do his warm up routine.
You glanced over to the sidelines of the 'Battle Zone', a name the boys had given the boxing ring after the numerous merciless fights and sparrings that left them with bruises and tiny cuts. If it wasn't for Jihoon constantly dragging you to see matches whenever you came over his apartment, you would have not easily gotten used to the bloody scenes that you encounter almost every day at the boxing club.
Jihoon's eyes were no longer twinkling when his eyes set on the boxing ring, uneasiness filling him as he was reminded by the fact that he would not be able to participate in the upcoming competitions, let alone box for the next month or so. With a full expression, he left the ring and sat on one of the benches as he fetched out his laptop from his backpack, his typing pace slowing down with his cast being an obstacle. After constant grumblings and mumblings on how the white thick bandage obstructed his productivity, he slammed it shut as a sigh left his pink lips. It further worsened the thoughts that barged through, constantly reminding himself of his worthlessness and the accident he could have avoided if he hadn't provoked the gang leader from last night. With a heavy heart, he settled on resting his eyes, the events weighing on his spirits and instead filling him with fatigue in his entire body.
After Jihoon began lightly snoring in the corner of the room, you admired his features. They were indeed feminine, sometimes to the point where you would become jealous of his good looks that could easily swoon anyone that glanced his way. You noticed every single one of his beautiful features, but your eyes always settled on his plump lips and imagining how they felt like against yours. But your thoughts were pushed out as you shook your head in denial. Jihoon would never fall for someone as average as you and was definitely way out of your league by the way he was known across his entire school and neighborhood. Whereas, here you were, the boxing club owner's daughter that only had friends because Jihoon was by your side. He was the main reason you were able to befriend Woojin, someone you would have never talked to due to his mysterious and intimidating looks that he didn't intend to show.
You rubbed your face in hopes that you would be able to see Jihoon as only a friend and nothing more. But once your eyes peeked from behind your palms, your heart thumped vigorously once more, the sensation becoming a familiar one. Your attempts for giving up on your silly crush was futile as you shook your head in disappointment - although a little part of you would prefer staying this way, silently watching from the sidelines.
As your fingers brushed through the stack of neon yellow post-it notes, an idea popped up into your head. You had recalled many moves from movies of secret admirers and their anonymous letters. So you decided you could cheer him on in pen and paper if your words fell on deaf ears. Hastily, you scribbled encouraging words, tearing a piece of it if it was too obvious that you had written it. And after many attempts at perfecting your 'fake handwriting' and the structure of your sentence, you slipped away from the front desk and tiptoed your way to Jihoon, watching out for the others who were bound to arrive any second. You quickly pasted the sticky paper onto his laptop, nearly running away in anxiousness. Just as you were about to slip behind the front desk, the main doors burst open, the rest of the nine boys came bustling in. Some of them had just ended their school activities while others had come straight from work, as boxing gave them a platform to vent their stress and worry onto. But something felt off, it was obvious that once they had stepped in and laid their eyes on Jihoon, their spirits were dampened and the fatigue from their busy day began to settle in. You noticed almost every single one of them had small cuts and wounds on them while others were mentally hurting from the scene that took place last night. And when your father arrived, the surroundings only seemed to worsen.
-
"How will I be able to show my face at the competitions when the entire town heard about you rascals thrashing the place with a bunch of thugs? We're already low on manpower but you boys just had to waltz into a fight." Your father screamed, pointing his finger at everyone of them as their dull eyes admired the floor. Even looking at them for another second longer was too painful for you to bear. Thus, with a swift turn of your heel you walked out from the building, taking a seat on the curb as you inhaled the fresh air.
Numerous thoughts bombard your mind as you looked over the other buildings towering over you and sheltering you from the merciless rays of the sun. What if you had been there? Would you have been able to prevent the fight between them and the other men? Would you have been able to prevent Jihoon from experiencing an unwanted injury? All you could ever do was think and a realization hit you. There was never a time when you were helpful towards them.
"What's with the frowning?" A voice pulled you back to reality as you looked towards its source, only to see the last person you wanted to see.
"Who would be smiling in a situation like this?" You chuckled sarcastically, looking back to the rows of shops you had grown up around.
"Right," he laughed nervously before plopping down next to you, supporting his back with his arms as he wonder what could possibly be so interesting about the old town this boxing club was placed on. As his mind soon wandered to what you were currently thinking, possibly about the situation that all of you had been put in, making his chest drop. 'It's my fault isn't it,' he thought, his eyes glancing towards your worried expression. He retraced his thoughts back to the gruesome fight that was still clearly etched on his mind. If he hadn't punched first, his friends would have been unscathed and he would still be able to participate in the upcoming competition that was frighteningly waiting around the corner.
"Don't think too much about it okay?" Your voice was close to a whisper as you playfully nudged his side before leaving him, the tension between the both of you were becoming too much to handle and you didn't want to worsen the friendship with words you didn't mean - especially with your insecurities that were eating you right up.
Jihoon watched your every movement as your steps were closer to the ground than it used to be - a sign that you were obviously upset about something or someone. Of course he would notice your little actions. Who wouldn't be able to notice the actions of someone they had hopelessly fallen in love? Jihoon was sure he loved you, with every fibre of his being, but he couldn't confess his feelings to someone that only saw him as a friend; something he assumed from numerous rumors made by the other boys
-
After an earful of lectures and a much stricter routine as punishment, most of them began to pack to return home and rest their aching bodies. Out of everyone, Daniel took the most beating seeing as he had to catch up to replace Jihoon for the competition, his eyes already drooping in exhaustion as his limbs swung in the air, pain coursing through every fibre of his being as his entire body stung and a burning sensation overcome him.
"Rest up, guys. See you tomorrow as usual," You smiled in sympathy as you tossed the sweat-filled towels into the basket that was supported by your other arm as some of your friends replied in an apathetic tone while others attempted to cheer you up with wide smiles. You searched through the big crowd of boys for someone in particular. But once your eyes laid upon him, your breath hitched and you regretted your decision as you see the scene before you, unable to peel your eyes away from him.
Jihoon finally noticed the little post-it note as he removed it from his laptop to inspect it further, curious as to who had left it behind.
'Don't give up. I believe in you and so should you :)'
Your words were simple and short and yet it deeply resonated with him as he didn't realize his lips were tugging into a small smile. With a soft laugh, he slipped the note into his wallet into the section where it was shown from beneath the transparent film, as a reminder for him.
Your heart was pounding through your ears as you smiled at the sight, your cheeks heating up and colour began to set in as the tips of your ears matched with them. Your little mission was accomplished and you could only hope for the best for him and cheer him on anonymously. You didn't mind if he didn't know who was behind the post-it note even if a part of you wanted, your priority was to cheer him up and you weren't going to let your selfishness get the best of you.
But Jihoon wasn't going to let this anonymous go. He knew by the way the words were structures that it was written by someone with a heart of gold and it was only right for him to thank them for their simple act of kindness.
-
Day by day, you left a note by Jihoon's bag whenever he was distracted or was called out by the others as a judge and a temporary mentor. And day by day, Jihoon got even more frustrated. Your words of encouragement definitely fired him up to recover soon but it also fired him up even more to find who it was. Many people come and go at the boxing club and it wasn't only him and his friends that would drop by. He eliminated his numerous choices and narrowed them down to his closest friends which compromised of Woojin, Guanlin and you. And for the past few days he watched the three of you like an eagle. Surprisingly, whenever his eyes fell on you, you were busy filing documents and payments made by the customers that came by. And you definitely took notice of his strong gaze on you. Well, everyone did.
"Psst, hey (Y/N), do you know why Jihoon keeps staring at us? It's starting to creep me out. Do you think the thugs punched a few screws out of his head?" Woojin questioned you while he packed his belongings, attempting to make it as discreetly as possible.
"Maybe? I would tell you if he wasn't staring holes through us right now," You mumbled, barely moving your lips as you spoke. Woojin looked up from tying his shoelaces to see Jihoon's eyes on the both of you, only for him to retreat his focus back into keeping the supplies in their rightful places.
" Hey Jihoon, are you going out soon?" Woojin hollered as he swung his bag over his shoulder.
"Not yet. I told (Y/N)'s dad that I' ll be staying here to study until he closes," Jihoon replied as a small reassuring smile tugged on his lips. Woojin nod his head with understanding as he called you over.
"We'll be heading out then. Take care Jihoon! Call me if there's a problem," You waved goodbye as you walked side by side with Woojin, walking out of the vicinity.
"So what is it? Did you finally confess to him or-" You smacked the back of his head quickly, your cheeks turning a bright hue of pink by the second he had mentioned it. "Why do you always talk so freaking loud? Besides, it's just about a bunch of postie notes, that's all," Woojin rubbed the back of his head as he scowled at you before continuing his investigation.
"Post-it notes? What about them?" He questioned trying to recall if Jihoon was holding onto one.
"Well, I've been writing a bunch of encouraging words on them and pasting it on his stuff to cheer him up but I can't find the courage to own up to him. Especially since..."
"Since?" Woojin was now on the edge of his seat. What had you done that you were too afraid to own up? You were just doing your duty as a best friend to cheer him up, so what's so wrong with doing that?
"Well, I might have, kinda, confessed to him," You mumbled in embarrassment, and as soon as the words tumbled out from your lips, your hands covered your tomato red cheeks before slapping them, hoping that the warm yet comforting feeling would vanish away with the pain you had inflicted onto yourself.
"Then that means my first question was right, airhead," Woojin shook his head as he looked at you with disdain. But before you could send another attack to the back of his head, a familiar voice echoed from behind you, a voice you were least expecting to hear.
" It's you?" Jihoon questioned as you hesitantly looked at him with fear in your eyes. You weren't expecting to confront to him about your secret so soon, especially when it involved more than just cheering up a best friend.
"I'll leave you two to talk," Woojin mumbled, the tension in the air making it hard for him to increase his voice over the deafening silence. He patted your shoulder as an encouragement to face Jihoon head on, before he walked away briskly, hoping that everything would turn out alright and the outcome would be something he hoped to happen for quite some time.
Jihoon walked over to you, fiddling around with the strap of his bag pack as he attempted to keep his eye contact with you. His chest felt heavy and his incessant heartbeat pounded through it. A part of him was elated that his anonymous cheerleader was none other then yourself, but the other part of him was hesitant when it came to your feelings. Although he had feelings for you, Jihoon had no choice to force himself to see you as only his best friend, especially when your mannerisms around boys you liked were completely different when you were around him, or so he thought. You would act more touchy with them, an unfamiliar feminine side of you was always shown whenever you were around them but it was always the other way round when you were around him. You were much more comfortable, sitting however you liked and not minding if he had seen the many unglamorous angles of you. But that was one of the many reasons why you liked Jihoon, he was the only one that you could truly be yourself with.
"I'm sorry Jihoon, I did it on a whim and I wasn't thinking right. I just wanted you to feel better because it hurt me to see you frown. I know how much you liked boxing and since you couldn't compete in the nationals, I knew you were deeply upset by the news. The confession was nothing, I was desperate to get your smile back and I... I ruined everything instead. I ruined our friendship and made it more worse than it was, " At this point, you were now bawling your eyes out, imagining different scenarios all at once and all of them ending with Jihoon rejecting you and your friendship altogether. You trembled in your spot, wiping away your tears swiftly as your head hung low. You couldn't let him see you like this. You couldn't allow him to see you at your worst.
But the cold breeze stopped as you were in the midst of your waterworks, a warmth enveloping you instead. It comforted you from within as your tears trickled down your cheeks. You looked up to see none other than Jihoon, a small smile adorning his face as he looked at you with his arms wrapped around your frame.
"What do you mean you ruined everything? I've never felt better ever since you sent the very first note. And the latest one..." He trailed off, his smile widening just by the thought of it. You instinctively hid your face in your palms, already feeling the heat rush up to your cheeks as he spoke. Jihoon lifted your chin with his index finger, uncovering your face with his other hand to reveal your teary eyes and tear-stained cheeks. He chuckled at your vulnerable state, as he wiped your cheek and admired the way your eyes twinkled under the golden rays of sunlight.
"I hope you don't regret writing it, because I've finally found my cause to carry on,"

Lee Daehwi Super Powers Au
Tumblr media
Waddup So this was written yesterday and idk whether to do a powers au so I guess this is just a try??
In other news I got Seventeens new album for my bday today and got The8 i am blessed. Anywhere, here we go. also pls tell me if I need to tag any triggers, I’m not great at this stuff whoops.
 • Lemme get one thing straight, you didn’t want to use your ability for bad,  • It just kinda happened that you became a theif,  • You were trapped,  • You were a teen when you got dragged into a whole mess of a gang, when you went to take out a loan to pay for treatment for your brother’s illness,  • Because your brother was the most important thing to you but your family couldn’t afford his treatment,  • But you didn’t realise the loan company was actually kinda not a company and you had just officially ruined your life,
 • With gastronomic Interest, you had to pay them back the money with no way of being able to do it,  • Read the small print y'all,  • So they offered you another option: you hated it but there was no other way to help your brother, and they threatened to cut your brother’s treatment if you stepped out of line,  • And in a world made with certain people who had abilities, they made sure to utilize yours,  • Aka the ability to change your appearance and voice to fit it,  • They had you as a thief, and with your skill and ability you quickly became notorious around the city,  • Which made you extremely paranoid, causing you to constantly switch appearances,  • I don’t mean switching looks every minute or something bizarre,  • I mean you never showed your true appearance anymore, you were always someone else and started to panic at the thought of people seeing the real you,  • So you stayed in your place by day planning heists the gang had sent you to do, and went on the missions by night,  • And you hated everything about the way you lived, but you knew your brother was getting better, so you kept at it,  • The gang sent you a particularly dangerous heist one night, and you did not think it was a wise idea at all,  • Like there were shit tonnes of guards and cameras and the switch overs were smooth and the codes hard to crack,  • As a thief, you were known to be able to go in and out before anyone would even realise anything was gone, shifting into guards or ceo’s or customers,  • And you trained your ability to perfection, having no flaws in your transformation and being able to quickly switch features,  • A master™  • But you plan this near impossible heist anyway because you have to, you have everything to lose,  • And while bits of the heist are a bit by chance or freestyle,  • You hate yourself for being quite confidant, as always,  • But heists had started going wrong lately,  • A guard unconvinced and almost omniscient,  • Or the whole place closed for a day as if they already knew,  • Little things going wrong preventing the heists and causing them to go wrong,  • You didn’t know how because they were all planned to perfection, but something was happening,  • You heard whispers of a mole but no one ever told you anything so you had no idea really,  • So you’re dropped off by the usual gruff looking men who are going to wait down the street, safe for them,  • You where dressed as a medium height middle aged woman with brown hair, trying to blend in with the people around you,
 • Like a chameleon damn,  • You float into the bank and act naturally, milling around the atm’s and looking at posters,  • A boy around your actual age seems to keep glancing at you, which sets your nerves off,  • Not only is he cute, it’d be insanely weird for someone his age to be staring at a middle aged lady,  • You try to sway away from his prying eyes and keep your heart at normal pace and prevent your hands shaking,  • You always got nerves before a heist and this dude really wasn’t helping,  • At all,  • Smh doesn’t he know it’s rude to stare?  • You’re nearly set on going over there and telling him yourself, but with your ‘can I see the manager’ hair style you play your role and send him a disapproving mum glare and shake you head, moving on,  • Perfect, v realistic,  • But the dude doesn’t stop sending u shady side eyes, so you decide to get the hell on with it,  • So your eyes scan the floor before slipping into a side door,  • Smooth as always, might I add,  • You change your appearance quickly into a guard and take out a hand mirror quickly to check that you’re perfect,  • Indeed you are perfect,
•You were about to take off down the hall when the door slides open again,  • You’re about to get into character when the boy from earlier locks eyes with you and lunges,  • You dodge as quick as a whippet and a fight™ ensues,  • You can tell idk how to write a fight omg,  • DW I’ll get better,  • You’re both incredibly good to the point you defo know this ain’t just a usual kid who’s taken some martial arts classes,  • Because as soon as you dodge one punch and throw your own, he’s dodged that and is launching another assault with a knee or elbow,
 • He keeps saying something along the line of 'Stop I’m trying to help’ but you ain’t buying no shady nonsense,  • And you’re both getting pretty beaten, bruises and small cuts appearing, a bloody nose or a broken finger,  • But shit really hits the fan when a guard comes round the corner and then you’re both in for it,  • You’re internally having a meltdown you’ve never had to deal with this before,  • And then your tryna fight the boy and the guards and - shit,  • A bullet grazes your leg but it instantly burns and shocks you to hell,  • Your appearance flickers before returning to the middle aged lady aka the wrong disguise, who0ps,  • Your leg burns and the shock throws you off balance long enough for the boy to wrap an arm around your shoulder and have you against a wall in a second,  • You’re about to swing your leg back to hit him when chloroform and damn you’re out cold,  • Actually outraged in your knocked out state,  • Who DaRe?  • Like you don’t blame them, you’re a damn thief, tbh you’d probs knock yourself out if you were in their situation,  • but hOw DaRe tHey?  • And you’re defo worried about who just chloroformed you but whatever,  • Idek if you can think all this while passed out but you find a way,  • You wake up with someone’s hand on your forehead and you stay still, trying to gather your bearings and figure stuff out before you let them know you’re awake,  • I mean the hand thing is so weird but you deal with it you til you gather that your head’s also in someone’s lap and your skin is tingling and you decide this is very weird,  • I mean not a hard conclusion to come to but a conclusion all the same,  • You slowly open one eye and wow,  • Bright lights,  • But you soldier through it and stare straight ahead at the face of the boy ahead of you,  • You’re about to jump out of your skin but the boys eyes are closed and he looks so peaceful with flawless skin and a slight frown, his brow creased in concentration,  • And then you realise your leg doesn’t burn and your hand and knuckles don’t scream like they did before you dropped,  • And you realise he’s someone like you, he’s a healer,  • And it makes your heart fly with joy, you’ve found someone else with an ability and all of a sudden you feel safer,  • Especially because he’s a healer,  • But then your eyes trail to your arm and your body and all the safety is thrown away,  • You have no disguise, no fake face or fake voice; it’s purely you and it makes you dizzy and sick,  • He must sense your panic because his eyes crack open and he smiles widely at you, removing his hand from your forehead,  • Wow his smile settles your heart and warms your cheeks,  • A million questions run through your foggy brain, where are we and what happened? Who is he and why is he so cute? Where’s the boy from before and what’s going to happen when your former gang know you’re not with them?  • “Y/N, right? I’m Daehwi, and give me a sec and I’ll tell you all the gossip,”  • While his soft voice is calming when you sit up, a wave of dizziness hits you like a wrecking ball ridden by Miley cirus  • (Wow my pop culture references about 5 years too late),  •But despite your swimming head you quickly change your skin, opting for the first thing you can think of, which happens to be Daehwi,  • You change your hair quickly and alter your face and body to match his within seconds,  • You’re kinda embarrassed that you just changed into him but you’re panicking,  • While the boy next to you may have seen your face, you’d prefer if no one else would,  • “That’s increadible,”  • The look on Daehwi’s face, as well has his bubbly laugh, makes you flush but you’re heart is still beating a mile a minute and your chest feels a little too tight,  • “While that’s really cool, and I’m really flattered, I thought your natural face was much prettier,”  • Your face (or is it Daehwi’s?) blushes violently at the comment but the fact you don’t look like yourself calms you a little,  • “A healer, then?”  • You ask simply to change the subject, although it’s pretty obvious at this point,  • “Yep, not one of the coolest abilities but pretty handy. You’re obviously a shape shifter, damn the whole city knows you’re a shape shifter, but seeing it myself, damn, it’s way cooler than I thought”  • He talks in such a laid back manner, leaning back onto his hands, his whole presence relaxing,  • He really suits his ability,  • “I think healing’s the best ability, you get to help,”  • Your voice is quiet but your words are the truth, and you can see Daehwi’s about to reply when the door swings open and the boy from earlier wonders in, doing a double take at the two Daehwi’s sat on the bed and sighing before dropping down into a nearby chair,  • He’s hardly met you and he’s already done with your shit lmao,  • But you’re eyeing him suspiciously because this guy FRICKEN chloroformed you and you still have no answers as to what the hell is going when he launched into a Hella Long explanation,  • To put it simply,
 • Daehwi and the boy, Guanlin, are part of an organisation that rescue abilities from sticky situations and tries to stop the people with abilities for using them nastily,  • (Avengers who?)  • There was indeed a mole in your gang as they planned to rescue you whilst intercepting a heist of yours,  • They didn’t expect you to fight so defiantly back but I mean,  • So then you explain that you’re really not nasty, I mean you used to put milk in before your cereal but yOu’vE cHanGeD,  • You explain your situation and they agreed  that they’ll see what they can do for your brother and you feel like you might cry because this is too good to be true,  • Half convinced this is some awful experiment or teasing you,  • So you spend a few days in the room you wake up in, just in case, in which you discover is actually Daehwi’s room,  • Which is kinda awkward,  • But you honestly can’t ask for a better first friend in the base they have there,  • Daehwi is oh so patient, painfully so, encouraging you to take your time and helps introduce you to the many people in the base, most of which have powers themselves which blows your mind a little
 • You’ve never seen so many abilities,  • And it takes you a while to trust Guanlin, but as soon as you do you realise he’s just a goof and you apologise endlessly for hurting him,  • And you start helping out at the base, doing small missions to help others by using your ability,  • And it feels good,  • Especially when you can come back to Daehwi at the end of the day and laugh and relax into the night,  • And you visit your brother for a very emotional reunion and he’s getting better and life just seems to be good,
 • And in the middle of it all is Daehwi, who you would trust with your life,  • I mean he is a healer many people trust him with their lives,
 • So you’re sat in his room (or your now shared one - you refuse to sleep anywhere else, feeling unsafe) chatting into the night,  • When you both reach a lull in conversation,  • “Y/N, why do you never walk, or sleep, or eat, or live in your normal skin?”  • The question is so out of the blue that your eyes snap to his,  • Which rest on you,  • They always rest on you,  • And you try to figure out a way to say it without feeling stupid,  • Because in your mind it is a whole concept and fear, but there aren’t enough words to describe how you feel, and to condense your thoughts into words belittles them endlessly,  • “It’s scary, showing your true self. I used to fear people would recognise me and arrest me, for being a thief, but nowadays it’s almost as if I don’t trust people enough. Enough to see my face,”  • You pick your words carefully but still feel as if it’s a weak excuse,  • “You don’t trust me, y/n?”  • His words shock you, make you question yourself, and you look into those soft, open eyes and brace yourself,  •You know he’s right as you relax, completely relax for the first time in years, letting all of your facade melt away to show your true skin, your true eyes, your true being,  • And there’s something in Daehwi’s eyes that you love as he looks at your pure self,
 • You feel insanely exposed but Daehwi himself settles you,  • And you know you no longer need to hide yourself from Daehwi anymore when he leans over, wrapping an arm around your real hips,  • Cups the back of your head,  • And gently smiles and he places his lips on your real ones,

-Chapter 13-
*Daniel’s pov*
“Let’s breakup” I nodded when I heard those words and forced a smile to Jieun. I walked away from her apartment slowly, with my head hung low. My tears flowed down slowly. I love Jieun, I don’t want to let her go. I’ve never loved someone so much. But if this is really what she wants, I can’t stop her either. Maybe letting her go is the best for me and her. Maybe we’re not meant to be, maybe this is how much fate we have. I reached home and started pouring my emotions out. It really hurts that I just lost someone I love. I looked at the pictures we took together before on my phone. I miss her smile, her hugs to me and everything else about her. I don’t know how I can live without her. I guess I’ll just let time heal.
*Jieun’s pov*
I just sat at my porch and cried. I cried like there was no tomorrow. I don’t want to let Daniel go but I have to. I have to leave for Australia in a few month’s time. Yes long distance relationships can work but I don’t trust it. I guess the best way right now is to let time heal everything. Once I leave, Daniel will not be that hurted anymore and soon he will accept that I’m no longer around and forget me. You decided to sleep and escape reality for a while since there is school tomorrow.
*The next day*
I woke up and did my usual routine. I was chilly again and I checked the weather forecast, temperatures going as low as 18°C. Oh wells, I’m just gonna wear a hoodie over. I walked to school as usual since there was still time and decided to drop by to the cafè nearby again. I went into the cafè and ordered my usual drink and a sandwich for me to eat on the way to school. I collected my order and decided to continue walking to school. As I was about to leave, I saw Daniel at the door. I didn’t know what to do and he just stared at me with those eyes I missed. After a few seconds, I snapped out of it and wanted to cross, saying “sorry” at the same time. He gave me space to cross and I continued my way to school.
When I reached school, I sat back my usual spot in the lecture hall. I took out my notebook and continued with my notes. Soon after, Daniel arrived as well along with the other students. The spaces were filled up such that Daniel ended up sitting beside me. I wanted to change my seat but it was too late as all the spaces were taken. Daniel did not say anything as well and took out his materials. The lecture started and I found it a little distracting as he was beside me. I couldn’t focus so I decided to go to the washroom. After I gained permission, I walked out of the hall slowly to the washroom. Telling myself to focus later on.
Suddenly, someone held my arm from the back and I stopped my tracks. I turned and look, it was Daniel. I asked him coldly, “What do you want? and let go of my hand” His eyes were the same as yesterday’s. He answered, “Why are you being so cold to me?”
“We’ve already broke up, what else more do you want from me?”
“I know we have broken up but can’t we at least be friends?”
“I have my own reasons for doing this so please stop disturbing me”
Daniel heard those words and let go of me and stood there while I went to the washroom. I entered the hall and went back to my seat, feeling awkward beside Daniel. I couldn’t believe I did this to him but I did not have any choice.
Timeskip
After lecture
I walked back home and found a mail in my letterbox. It was from Australia, from the company I am supposed to be going.
I read the letter as I walked into my apartment.
“Dear Jieun,
I’m sure you’ve accepted our offer to the company and aware that you’ll join us very soon ! I hope you are able to work for us as soon as you get your results and we will make necessary arrangements for you. You should join us latest by this June and I hope you’ll enjoy working here !
Yours sincerely,
Kang Joshua, Cheif of Industrails of Chemical and Engineering”
I sighed at that letter, I questioned myself. I questioned why did I accept this offer to go through such pain. I just wanted a relationship that can make me happy and last. I remember I did it for my parents, they worked so hard. I’d never forget that, but I wish I could repay them in some other ways and not give up on Daniel. However, I did not want to reject the job as it would give people an impression of not being responsible. I guess I would just have to live with this.
A/N : Hey guise ,, I’m back after a long hiatus..I actually forgot to post the previous chapter when I written it a long time ago , so sorry !! I’ll really try to write more often as I’m currently having a writer’s block. This chapter is really short at the same time and I’ll try to write longer ones too !!
