“Sean, he’s repairing his bike again, and he’s smoking,” you mutter under your breath while watching your annoyingly loud neighbor. “Babe, the music is blaring, and he’s flicking his cigarette butts onto our lawn.”

“Y/N, just leave him be. That guy is a biker and I bet he’s got a gun. Do you want me to get killed over some cigarettes and loud music? Jesus, stop being so uptight. No wonder—” Sean shakes his head as you storm toward the front door to give your loud neighbor a piece of your mind.

“Mr. Barnes,” your neighbor drops a tool into a toolbox as you waltz toward him and his bike. “I need to work on some papers and can’t think clearly as your music is too loud. And can you not flip your cigarette butts onto my lawn?”

“Doll, a good afternoon to you too, pretty lady,” how you hate the cocky biker. He still crouches in front of his bike, humming as you step closer to poke his shoulder with your index finger. “What can I do for you?”

“I want to work and need silence. Can you just not be an annoyingly loud neighbor. Act like an adult for once,” hands-on your hips you watch the biker get back up and tower over you. Fuck, he’s so much taller up close. “Mr. Barnes.”

“All you had to do was ask nicely, doll,” he smirks now. “Give me a second and I’ll turn the music down. I can’t make a pretty lady like you mad at me. Maybe I want to ask you out one day and you’ll say no as I was too loud.”

“I got a boyfriend, Mr. Barnes,” you jerk your head toward Sean who pokes his head out of the front door. “I’ll appreciate it if you stop being so loud.”

“Anything for you, pretty lady,” he holds out his hand. “Please stop calling me Mr. Barnes. Mr. Barnes was my father. You can call me Bucky, doll.”

You look at his hand, huffing. “I’ll stick to Mr. Barnes,” you reluctantly shake his hand, feeling your heart beat out of your chest as he leans closer to whisper in your ear.

“Baby doll, the moment you get to know me better, you’ll always call me Bucky. Maybe you’ll even scream my name, huh? How about you ditch that douche and come over to my house later.”

“What? I—” you nervously splutter. Heat creeps into your cheeks at his words. “Mr. Barnes, this is inappropriate. I’m in a relationship and y-you can’t just say things like that.”

“Sweetness, I can say whatever I want,” he laughs at your pained expression. “I can also tell you that your boyfriend is a douche. Do you know how often he stares at one of my friends? Last week he tried to hit on Natasha. She’s fucking engaged to Clint.”

“Why would I believe you?” you huff now. “I knew you are an annoying guy, but I didn’t think you are a lying bastard too!”

Bucky watches you storm off, muttering under your breath. He winks at your boyfriend, not giving away he’d like to punch Sean’s face.

“Sooner or later, you’ll see he’s an asshole and come running to me, doll,” the biker shrugs before he turns his attention back toward his other doll. “Let’s get you fixed, pretty girl. If she finally comes to her senses, I want her to go on a ride with me.”

“You won’t believe what that degenerated and rotten biker dared to say about you. He,” you point at Bucky, panting heavily, “dared to say that you tried to hit on one of those biker groupies.”

“What?” Sean huffs as you keep on ranting over the things Bucky just said. “She’s a hot piece of ass and I was a little tipsy. I only told her she’s pretty.”

“You what?” gaping at your boyfriend you feel like someone punched you in the guts. Not moments ago, you called Bucky a liar and now, your boyfriend admitted he did hit on that girl. “Sean! How dare you!”

“Man, it didn’t mean shit. She was hot, and I was drunk. Nothing happened, babe. Stop being such a drama queen,” he walks away, ignoring you call his name. “You should calm down, Y/N. If you are normal again, we can have a movie night or crap.”

“I—you…what?” you’re so angry at Sean, at yourself, and the biker who pumped up the volume again that you are shaking. “He can’t just do such a thing.”

“Hey, doll,” Bucky yells from the other side of the street. He waves at you, smirking as you try to balance two paper bags full of groceries. “I hope you had a great day.”

The bastard is walking toward you, wearing nothing but a pair of jeans. He doesn’t even wear his biker boots today. Bucky shows off his shirtless and tanned chest, making you swallow thickly as droplets of sweat run down his chest.

“Mr. Barnes,” you curtly greet your neighbor. “It was—okay. I guess. I hope yours was good too.”

“Sold another bike to one of those yuppies,” he takes the bags out of your arms before you can protest. “Saw your boyfriend come home earlier today. Why didn’t he help you with the bags?”

“I didn’t ask for your help,” you roll your eyes as Bucky walks up the three steps leading to your veranda. “Listen, I can handle this.”

“You shouldn’t have to ask for help, doll. It’s your man’s job to keep you happy, satisfied and do shit for you,” he grins as you unlock your door. “See, he’s a douche.”

“Mr. Barnes, can you just not,” rubbing your tired eyes you sigh deeply. “I had a really bad day at work. My feet hurt. I’m hungry. And on top of all my car makes an odd noise.”

“Your car,” Bucky’s eyes light up. “I can have a look at it, doll. Neighborly help and all. Just come over tomorrow and I’ll fix your car.”

“I—” you nod, but don’t intend on letting your rowdy neighbor have a look at your car. “I could come over if I find the time. Uh-thank you for carrying my bags, Sir.”

“Bucky,” he smirks as you take the bags out of his arms. He holds the door open for you, glancing inside your house. “I told you to call me Bucky, doll.”

“And, I told you that I’ll call you Mr. Barnes.”

“We will get you there, sweetness,” he looks you up and down before turning to leave. “If you need more help, just holler.”

“Like hell,” you whisper as you walk inside your house. “I don’t need your help and don’t want it, bastard.” Kicking your front door shut with your foot you huff. “Sean. Babe! Can you help me with the bags? I got more in my trunk.”

“Babe, I just had a shower. Can’t you handle this?” again, you huff. It’s not that you expected Sean to help you with shit lately. If only he could be more like…no, you won’t think of that man.

“Mr. Barnes!” you storm out of your house, yelling loud enough to make some of Bucky’s friends flinch. “It’s 2 am! Some people have to go to work in the morning!”

“Oh! Doll!” oddly the biker runs toward you. “Great you want to celebrate my business success.” You squeak as he wraps one arm around your waistline to guide you toward his friends. People are cheering as you wiggle in Bucky’s grip.

“Buck, a new girl?” a tall blonde guy with shoulder-length hair stumbles toward you, making you shriek as he wraps you and Bucky in a hug. “She’s a pretty and cute one. A keeper.”

“What? Hey! Let go of me!”

“Aw, an angry one too,” the tall biker flashes you a smile. “What’s your name, little one? I’m Thor, over there,” he points at a raven-haired man in leather pants and a green shirt, “that’s my brother Loki.”

“That’s Y/N, my new neighbor,” Bucky exclaims. “You already know Thor,” he guides you toward the others, ignoring that you try to break out of his embrace, “over there is my best friend Steve, and the guy next to him believing he’s a good-looking bastard is Sam.”

“I heard that, Barnes,” Sam flashes you a smile. “And I’m damn good-looking. The ladies love me.”

“Ignore him,” he whispers in your ear. “He’s just jealous that I got you in my arms.”

“Bucky, another round,” a beautiful red-haired woman asks. She flashes you a smile and offers you a beer. “Hi, I’m Natasha, but you can call me Nat.”

“Listen, I’m not here to party with you,” you finally break out of Bucky’s embrace. “I need sleep. I got to get up for work in not four hours. I know you’ve got no clue about regular working times, work, and how to behave like a decent human but if you don’t want me to call the cops, stop being so fucking loud. What will you do when I finally got a baby? Will you wake them at 2 am too?”

“Oh, she said a bad word,” Steve snickers as his friend’s features darken. “What now?”

“As far as I know, will your douche of a boyfriend not give you a baby anytime soon,” Bucky smirks darkly as your face falls. “Didn’t he say that he’s not ready to have kids?”

“You spied on us?” you gape at Bucky. “What the fuck!”

“It’s not spying if your neighbors fight loud enough for me to hear every word. And I wouldn’t try for a baby with a guy like him,” he lifts your chin with two fingers, smirking as your lips part. The blue-eyed bastard chuckles while you fight the tears. “Go for a real man, doll. A man knowing what you need.”

“Leave me the fuck alone! I will have a baby soon enough!”

“If you want one, let me help you out,” he calls after you as you storm off. “I bet Sean won’t be too mad. He only has eyes for every woman crossing his path.”

“BASTARD!” you stop in your tracks to look over your shoulder. “One more word and I’ll rip you a new one. Sean is a good man. Unlike you! BIKER BOY!”

“Damn, she gave it to you good,” Steve puts his hand on Bucky’s shoulder. “What is your master plan?”

“I’ll get her sooner or later, Steve…Just wait for it...”

“Again? You were on a business trip not two weeks ago, Sean. I told you we should try for a baby,” you cross your arms over your chest as your boyfriend of five years just walks toward the door. “You tell me you are going on a trip the day you leave?”

“I need space, okay,” Sean groans while walking out of your house. “You wanted to buy this house. You wanted to settle down and marry. You want to have a baby.” He mutters. “You never ask what I want.”

“I ask you all the time!” you can’t believe you are even fighting over this. “When was the last time you asked me what I want?”

“What do you want, huh?” he growls as he storms toward his car. “You are sucking the life out of me.”

“You didn’t complain when I sucked your dick while you played video games,” Bucky watches you yell at your boyfriend with amusement. He snickers as you growl and scream. “You want to know what I want? How about a fucking orgasm! You never even try to get me close to one. Or, how about I want a man helping me out when I need him! Last month I was in pain, and you just went downstairs to watch football.”

“Don’t be a bitch!” he places his suitcases in front of his car and turns around to glare at you. “You were on your period and didn’t have a stroke!”

You slap his face, hard. “A thoughtful and loving partner would’ve taken care of me,” panting heavily you realize you gave the cocky biker a good show as Bucky laughs loudly, making you even madder at Sean.

“You know, that’s why I’m looking at other women. You’re so complicated and hard to live with. I’m just done hiding that I want to bang my secretary. At least she knows when to shut up,” he grins. “Especially when she sucks my dick.”

“Fine. Go ahead and fuck that skank,” you start walking, make a beeline around Sean’s car to storm toward Bucky, snapping your fingers. “Biker. You. Your cock. Now,” on your way toward Bucky’s house, you wrap your hand around his wrist, tugging hard to make him follow you.

“Doll, whoa…why the hurry,” he eagerly follows you toward his house, opening the door for you. He yelps as you immediately jump at him. Bucky catches you and helps you wrap your legs around his waistline, hands pawing at your ass. “Y/N, slow down.”

“You wanted to fuck me. So, fuck me. Make me scream your name so everyone in the neighborhood knows Sean just lost my cunt to you,” Bucky smirks darkly as you try to grind against his growing erection. “Come on. Don’t be all talk and no orgasm.”

“Doll,” he presses you against the wall to look you deep in the eyes. Bucky cups your face with both hands smiling as you wait for his next step. “I’ll not fuck you before we had at least one date.” His lips claim yours in a soft kiss, tongue swiping over yours. “Do you know what we are going to do today?”

“No,” you whine, still grinding against him. “Fuck like rabbits?”

“No. We will throw Sean’s shit out of your house. When we are done I’ll invite you over to my place and cook for you. After we finished eating, I’ll tell you more about my life, and you can tell me about yours.”

“Bucky, I—” glancing at his lips you realize he still smiles. “You don’t want to just fuck me?”

“No, baby doll,” he’s kissing you again, more passionately this time. “I wanna make you my girl and when we are ready, I’ll give you as many biker babies as you want…”

“Hi,” you shuffle from one foot to the other. Standing in front of your new neighbor’s door, smiling softly you try to find your voice. “Uh—I cooked for me and my friends, but they canceled our dinner. Do you want some?”

“Food,” the brunette eyes the food container in your hands warily. It’s been ages since a stranger tried to be friendly to Bucky and now he doesn’t know if he should check you for weapons or thank you for the food.

“FOOD?” Sam opens the door wider to glance at the food in your hands. “Ma’am, if you got food, you’ll be my best friend from now on. I’m starving and was close to feast on Bucky’s sofa.”

“OH! It’s enough for two, Sir,” you push the food container into Sam’s hands. “It’s pasta and bread. I got dessert too if you want some. I made my infamous tiramisu.”

“Tiramisu,” lips parting, Sam eyes the food in his hands. “Bucky, you must become the best neighbor ever. When the food tastes the way it smells we will feel like in heaven.”

“No—no, it’s just food, Sir,” feeling your cheeks heat up you giggle at Sam’s comment. “Nothing special, really. I just thought you must be hungry after carrying everything upstairs.”

“Sam, ma’am,” holding out one hand Sam gives you a soft smile. “You can call me Sam and it’s more than food. It’s a nice gesture.”

“Y/N,” you reply, shaking Sam’s hand. “If you want to, I’ll bring you dessert later. I got more than enough.”

“Eat with us,” Bucky can barely follow the conversation going on, busy to eye you up and down while Sam already invites you to join them for dinner. “This is more than enough for three, Y/N. Why don’t we eat together and get to know each other?”

“What? No, it’s fine. You should relax and eat the food at your new apartment. I’ll bring you dessert later,” you shake your head, not wanting to intrude you decline Sam’s offer. “I should go back to my place.”

“Nonsense,” Sam pushes the container with food into Bucky’s hands. “Let me help you get the dessert. I won’t let a pretty lady eat all on her own. Right, James.”

“Huh?” looking at you shy away from Sam, Bucky wants to punch his new partner’s arm. He can see you don’t feel comfortable around people and wants to comfort you. “If she wants to join us, Sam. If not, leave her be.”

“Was that a yes or what?” rolling his eyes Sam tries to help Bucky open up to more people than the ones he knows. “James?”

“I should go—” not wanting to cause any trouble you turn to leave. “I live down the hall, the last door on the right. Apartment 15B.”

“Wait, James didn’t want you to go, right? He’s new to this place and you are the first friendly neighbor we met. Please, join us for dinner,” Sam begs, holding out his hand.

“O-kay,” you give in, fall for Sam’s charming smile. “Let me get the dessert first.”

“Good morning, James,” you greet your new neighbor. “Do you like your apartment?”

“It’s—” he looks around the hallway, feeling uncertain once again. Should he talk to you or just leave? Maybe you want to talk about his past. “Nice.”

“Great,” offering a soft smile you are close to running off. Something about Bucky makes you feel like a young girl crushing on an actor. “I wish you a nice day. If you ever need help, you can ask me. I know how it feels to be all alone in this crazy town.”

“You’re alone?” he asks, stepping closer. “No family? But you mentioned friends, right?”

“More like colleagues who like to come around and demand stuff but never show when you invite them. I’m a loner, you know,” embarrassed you drop your gaze to your feet. “I didn’t want to sound like a loser.”

“Why?” cocking his head Bucky watches you shuffle from one foot to the other. “I got no friend either. I had one but he left and now I got this new partner, Sam. He’s…”

“Nice and friendly,” he laughs, nodding as you grasp for this gloved hand. “It’s okay to not have many friends. When I came here, I knew most of my friends won’t stay in contact. It’s hard to find new friends in this huge town.”

“He’s so hot. I bet he can spank my ass with his metal hand and make me scream in no time,” one of your neighbors’ coos, eying Bucky like her latest meal as you pass her by. “Right, Y/N?”

“I don’t know,” you shrug, already walking away.

"Come on. He's a perfect bad guy."

"He's not a bad guy," growling the words you look over your shoulder. "Just leave him be!"

“Y/N, hey!” Sam smiles wildly when he opens the door to Bucky’s apartment. “My favorite girl. Uh—what do you bring us today?”

“I got muffins. I made too many for my colleague’s birthday and figured you’d like to have some.”

“AWESOME,” while Sam reaches for the muffins Bucky shakes his head, not wanting to take another gift from you without giving something in return.

“I can’t take these. I—I need to stay in shape, you know,” you choke out a sob, eyes trailing down your body. Self-conscious you believe Bucky thinks you are fat.

“I’ll take them,” taking your offered muffins Sam frowns seeing the tears well up to your eyes. “Y/N, is something wrong? Do you need help?”

“No, it’s just…I got to go,” he doesn’t get the chance to ask you about your day or why tears run down your cheeks as you storm off, running toward your apartment.

“Dude, free food! You do not say ‘no to free food!” Sam tuts, looking at the muffins. “I wonder why she ran away. Any ideas?”

“No,” Bucky can hear you sniff behind your door, and he frowns. “I got no idea. Maybe I should apologize for not wanting her food? I just didn’t want to become greedy. We never offered anything in return.”

“Free food, James. Free food…”

“Why not ask her out?” you can hear Sam and Bucky talk in the hallways. “Dude, you got to get out of here once in a while. She’s a pretty girl and likes you. Ask her out.”

“She’s not my type, okay. Period!” while Sam tries to convince Bucky to go out, you sneak toward your apartment, not wanting to let them know you heard every word.

“James, she is interested and showed it more than once!”

“I—you see,” Bucky huffs, eyes drifting toward your closing apartment door. “There is someone I like but I’m no good for her. I will not go out with Macy.”

“Morning, doll,” Bucky waves at you. Over the last week, he got more confident and decided to ask you out. But now, you duck your head and almost run toward your apartment. Ignoring his whole existence. “Y/N?”

“Morning,” you grumble under your breath, not looking at Bucky when he stands behind you, fighting his trembling hands. “I’m sorry for offering food to you. I know you must think I got nothing in mind but food.”

“Food? Huh? No, I wanted to ask you about—” he stammers, watching you unlock your door.

“You know, don’t waste your breath. I got that I’m not the kind of girl you want to spend your time with. Don’t hurt yourself. Tell Sam I’m sorry for not bringing him food anymore.”

“Doll? What?” the door slamming into his face confuses Bucky. “Did I say something wrong? Y/N?”

“You need to stop pacing the hallways. James, you look like a lunatic ready to pounce on the poor girl. For three weeks you are watching Y/N. What happened?”

“I don’t know. She said something about food, slammed the door in my face and since then, she doesn’t talk to me,” Bucky sighs deeply. “I tried to ask her out and then…”

“Maybe this has something to do with the muffins you didn’t want to accept. She seemed to be sad about it. I saw tears and—”

“Wait,” Bucky gasps, eyes glued to your door. “You saw tears? Why didn’t you tell me so?”

“I wasn’t sure about it. How should I have known this was about the food. Talk to her, James.”

“Fuck, no,” Bucky adds a huge amount of icing to the muffins he baked for you to hide he burned them. “She will hate it.”

“I’m telling ya, man, you should’ve bought the cupcakes. Your kitchen looks like a battlefield. You’ve got chocolate and icing all over your shirt and you burned the muffins,” Sam stuffs another cupcake into his mouth, moaning at the taste.

“I wanted to do something special for Y/N and apologize for whatever I did to her. Y/N is angry at me, and I want her to talk to me, Sam. Now stop bugging me and help me here.”

“You can do this…you can do this,” Bucky knocks at your door, nervously glancing at the ruined muffins on the plate.

“Uh—hi,” you whisper, opening the door. “What can I do for you?”

“I,” clearing his throat Bucky shows you the muffins he baked. “I wanted to apologize. I don’t know what I said to make you angry at me, but I made you muffins.”

“You made me muffins,” glancing at the burned muffins you hold back a chuckle. Icing runs down the black mass along with pink sprinkles. “That’s nice.”

“I wanted to show you I’m sorry for whatever I did. You were kind and I just told you to not give me muffins. I’m sorry,” he smiles when you take the plate. “I burned them, though.”

“I got cupcakes,” you offer, “and roasted chicken. If you want to come inside and have dinner with me.”

“Like a date,” Bucky asks hopefully.

“Like a date,” smiling you open the door wider to let Bucky in. He follows you inside, looking around your living room, smiling.

Your home is warm and inviting. “You can sit on the couch, or we can have dinner in the kitchen. I got no dining table, sorry.”

“We could sit on the sofa and talk,” nervously looking around your living room Bucky tries to keep his cool. “Whatever you prefer.”

Dinner is pleasant. You eat and talk, finding out more about each other while laughing and joking.

“Doll, I’m sorry for the burned muffins. I tried my best.”

“If you want to, we can make muffins together next time,” you offer. “We could give Sam some too.”

“Next time,” he nods, grasping for your hand to hold it gently. “We can cook together.”

“Yeah, that would be nice…” you lean your head against Bucky’s shoulder, smiling softly when he tells you about the recipe he used for the muffins.
