A continuation of the Genshin Impact characters as cats and how you ended up adopting them. Featuring: Albedo, Kaeya, Sucrose, Rosaria, and Mona! Special thanks to @eenochian for inspiring the first post!

Summary: Somehow, you've ended up adopting a few cats! How did you get them? What are they like?

Albedo:

The first cat you adopted was a cream color, with mid length fur, and turquoise colored eyes.

This cat was remarkably intelligent, as well.

You saw him at your neighborhood park one day, and because he was so well kept, you thought that he had an owner already.

When you found him sitting outside your front door the next morning, investigation one of your plastic plants, you found you were wrong.

You took him to the vet just to confirm.

"He's in good health, but his chip doesn't track to anyone anymore. A remarkable cat all around!"

You took him home, deciding to keep the little cutie.

Albedo was a quiet kitty, though he was always looking around your house, getting into your cabinets, once he even got stuck under your kitchen sink.

He especially loves to watch you cook. To keep him off the counter while you're doing so, you pulled a spare chair so he can sit next to you and watch what you're doing. You like to narrate what you're doing during these times.

He also wants to sniff your food when you're done, and since he very rarely takes bites, you let him always sniff your first bite.

One time he swiped the bite off the fork though after his sniff. You thought it was because it was a shrimp based meal, but then he pushed your plate off the table and hissed at the mess.

He didn't eat it, and wouldn't let you eat it either. With a sigh, you made a fresh batch with a new bag of shrimp, cleaning up the mess.

Before you dumped the mess away, you checked the date on the first bag of shrimp.

Oh. It was a month out of date.

Albedo very nearly looked smug at having kept you from having a nasty case of food poisoning.

You gave him a hefty serving of the new batch as a reward.

Kaeya:

A dark gray cat who was missing his right eye. Long and lean, and with a very extroverted personality.

He had quite long fur, and his tail especially was very long.

You found him sitting on the streets in the rain, looking more than a little forlorn.

You brought him in and dried him off.

You had friends over once, and one of them brought a bottle of wine for a celebration.

Kaeya sat himself in that friend's lap for the entire evening, watching you through one slit eye.

Scared of thunderstorms. When one hits, he crawls under your blankets and stays there till the rain stops. but another bolt of thunder will send him scrambling back.

Sucrose:

A small pale gray kitty, almost green if you catch her in the right light. Her golden eyes are soft, and very shy.

Sucrose came wandering by one day, and caught the attention of Albedo from the windowsill.

You came running when you heard him meowing, only to realize he wasn't hurt or mad.

You looked to see what he was meowing at, and accidentally frightened Sucrose. She took off running, and Albedo meowed again.

She came back the next day. And the day after. Everyday.

You began to leave the window open, and leave a small dish of food and water out for her as well.

One day, you come home from an errand, and find her curled up on the couch with Albedo and Kaeya.

Much like Albedo, she's curious and investigative.

Unlike him, however, the results can leave her fluffed up and spooked. If the pan sizzles loudly while she's watching you cook bacon, she'll run to the other end of the house.

But she'll come back soon. She always does.

If Kaeya comes on too strong with his affections, she'll bat him away gently or run away.

She really enjoys being held and cuddled.

Perfect lapcat size.

Your little baby.

Rosaria:

She's the biggest cat you own, and can be quite bossy, but mostly she just lays in a corner of the room.

Until the others drape themselves all over her.

She looks rather grumpy when this happens, but if you can get close to her, you'll catch a soft, harsh purring.

She's a light color as well, but more reddish in tone than Sucrose.

She's a fighter as well. You can't count how many times you've walked in on her beating Kaeya up in the living room.

She keeps her claws sheathed when she's inside.

You're not actually sure why Rosaria came to you.

She was initially a wild cat, but one day she came in through the same window that Sucrose likes.

Now she spends about an equal time between inside and out, always coming home for bedtime. Or dinner, depending.

You wish she'd stay home, but the last time you tried to keep her inside, she actually broke your window.

You can't afford for that to keep happening for months.

You do manage to get her to the vet for a tracking chip, so while you're at work you can keep an eye on her.

For a while, she brought you some... interesting gifts. When she noticed you didn't really like them, she stopped. Instead, she'd bring back leaves and flowers. One time, it was a single, fragile butterfly wing. You preserve these things that she brings you, it shows you that she does care about you, too.

One time, she woke you up in the dead of night with an aggressive hissing. You woke up to find her flinging herself off the bed and attacking something on the floor.

You turned on the light to reveal what she was attacking. A venomous snake had found it's way into your room. Before you could intervene, however, Rosaria finished it off.

Albedo carried the remnants out much to your dismay. You had to pry it from both him and Sucrose, and threw it out.

When you finally returned to bed, Rosaria curled up nex to you, and began audibly purring.

Mona:

Mona, a gorgeous black cat with pale green eyes, was an accidental acquisition in a different way.

You were at the pet store looking for toys and treats for your pack of kitties, and you passed by the cats up for adoption.

She sat tidily, her tail tucked around her paws. Her head was tilted slightly, and she was staring directly at you.

The attendant laughed. "Well that's a first. She usually ignores all the customers, and has been so disagreeable in general. It's like she wants to go home with you."

Thinking about your other cats, you mumbled, "Maybe she does."

You thought about her while you finished collecting all of your items, and finally, after a few minutes, returned to look at the mysterious kitty.

Her long fur caught the light in fascinating ways, making it look like a small galaxy was constantly shifting across her body.

She slow blinked at you, and you sighed. "I'll be right back."

You ran back to the cat supplies, and picked up a new food and water dish set, new color, and a few more things, most of them in navy blues or purples.

When you came back, she stood up, stretched, and started meowing.

You told the attendant that you'd like to adopt her, and they laughed again before responding that they'd be happy to help.

Mona waltzed into the cat carrier with ease, and when you brought her home, she waltzed right out.

Fairly quiet, though she seemed to know the weather changes an uncanny amount of time before they happened. When it was going to storm, she'd drag Kaeya to the bed so he could hide early.

If it was going to be a clear night, she'd wait by the window with the clearest view of the sky, just waiting for night to fall.

You'd decided after Mona you were done adopting strange cats.

The cats were happy with this.

They often all spent hours draped over each other on the sofa.

Rosaria and Mona fought a bit at first, but then somehow became really good friends.

Mona also gets along quite well with Kaeya.

Sucrose loves Mona, often following her around, almost as much as she follows Albedo.

No night is complete without your kitty cuddle puddle on the bed.

He simply must have your eyes on him. He adores being brushes so lovingly too. Maybe he should have you brush his hair when he’s back to normal.

Al Haitham

Virtually no change. He may still try to read though he won’t be able to turn the pages as easily. He doesn’t mind a few pats but he mostly prefers to be left alone in the nice warm sun to nap the day away. He’s definitely a grey tabby.

Kaveh

He is so distraught! He meows a storm in fustration as he finds he is completely incapable of finishing his projects! You simply must take care of him! You need to have him strapped in like a baby carrier on your chest because he’s just so clingy. He needs constant reassurance and attention. He’s so needy but so cute. Probably a cute little cream colored kitty.

Kaeya

He is also probably a bit annoyed. While yes he gets a complete day off, he can’t do much as a cat. So he’ll probably try to find some entertainment if you don’t keep him thoroughly entertained. He will find a way to sneak out and go play with Klee or annoy Diluc if you don’t keep him in your grasp at all times.

Neuvillette

He is very confused but also curious. On one hand this form is verrrry different than he’s ever had before but its also very beneficial to him. People are far less intimidated and strangely he enjoys being coddled and pet more than he would. Of course miss Furina is teasing the crap out of him but he doesn’t really care. Sitting on your lap, small and warm. Its such a unique experience he will probably never have again.

Wriothesley

Once the dust settles he’s quite relaxed. This is temporary so might as well enjoy it. Sigewinnie has become very attached to him as she constantly makes sure he’s okay. But in particular he loves being held by you. He’s used to being the big strong man who lifts you all the time etc etc. its nice actually being the reverse here. He gets fed special fish from the cafeteria and gets to spend his day in your arms! The perfect break for him! He’s almost sad it’s temporary but he knows he can’t stay like this forever.

Childe

Oh he’s mad! Even when it’s confirmed to be temporary, he is annoyed! How can he improve his fighting skills if he’s a kitty! Sure he’s a adorable little kitty of course but he looks like a baby! Oh his ego is in shatters. It’s unfortunate too because it wasn’t even around his family so he could play with his little brother at least. He’s practically quarantined to keep him safe. He can’t go on kitty adventures. Therefore YOU must make it up to him. He spends his time sulking and trying to play with anything he can. Dangling uniform piece? New toy! Someone’s foot? New toy! He bites! He meows! He hardly naps. He does love cuddling with you though. Still he’s a ball of energy and he cannot simply sit still for long! No doubt will his office be trashed. You’re making him clean it up once he’s back.

Thoma

Stressed! So stressed! He has so many chores! He cannot hold a broom with two paws! You have to make arrangements for him to have the day off which was hard because everyone was upset by his sudden cancellation. Even so he tries to help. He tries to drag the broom but it doesn’t do anything unfortunately. Oh he feels so useless. You must pamper him. Lavish him with kisses and gentle praise. Call him the cutest little kitty in the world! Oh he’s such a affectionate boy too. He acts like a cat with separation anxiety almost. He cannot sleep if you’re not there with him. Therefore you end up spending the day with him, trying to dissuade him from trying to clean a mess and just making it worse, distracting him with a warm blanket and pets.

Zhongli

He probably did so on purpose actually. Perhaps he was a bit bored and decided to spend the day exploring Liyue from a different perspective. It was quite fun for him actually. He watched as people came over to pet him. Unfortunately they also tried to feed him seafood which wasn’t too good. But after the long day he returned home to see you panicked as to where he could be. He decided to come on over to you, still in his cat form, and distract you. It worked as he helped you relax.

You werent too amused when you found out that cat that broke in was him.

Pantalone

He is quite annoyed. Angry in a more agitated way. Don’t mess up his fur! Pet him properly! Don’t ignore him now! He is a demanding little feline. He is not content unless you are entirely focused on him. He even wants you to break up the fish ro serve to him. He isn’t going to eat like a animal! Oh but he is such s cute kitty. Entirely black with big expressive yellow eyes. Oh you can’t help but comply and spoil him a little more! And he has such lovely fur! He does like hearing your gentle praises as you pet him. He never knew how lovely it felt to be small, sleeping on a nice warm lap, being gently brushed, and told sweet little compliments. He may actually want to do this again sometime.

Diluc

Biggest drama king! How can he protect you or Mondstadt like this! Therefore you cannot leave his sight or he’s convinced you will immediately die. You must stay with him so he can protect you? He is a very warm kitty though so it feels nice to snuggle with him. His fur is a bit messy so you’ll have to brush it. Despite him trying to stay vigilant he ends up falling asleep quickly.

Genshin men as cats!

What if genshin men turned into cats, what will they be like?

kaeya, diluc, childe, zhongli (x reader)

Fluff fluff (kinda comfort/hurt)

Kaeya: he turned into a cat after accidentally drinking albedo’s “tea” which turns out to be a potion. When he turned into a cat, he didn’t panic, rather, he was happy. He thought that becoming a cat doesn’t sound so bad after all..you’re a big cat lover so if he become a cat, your love for him will double right? not to mention that he’s exactly like your favorite breed, grey british short hair. So he immediately ran back home and meowed in front of the door, his meows is so loud you can barely ignore it. So when you opened the door, your heartbeat stopped. A fluffy cat…with pretty meows….and and…FLUFFY PAWS??? You take him inside and feed him with tuna, you kissed his head thousand of times, rubbing his tummy while he just purrs. Kaeya is already drowning from your love! But suddenly he turned into the normal kaeya again..*sigh*, you were disappointed that the cat is gone….. If you were to pick who to abandon, it seems obvious that kaeya is your choice, the cat? You keep it. Ever since then, kaeya has been trying to turn into a cat, sometimes his failure lead him to an unbearable fever or…a success. You ended up showering him with tons of kisses, pats, and belly rubs that he enjoyed like no one..he’s such a clingy kitty cat. Even when you bite his cheeks, he would meow happily.

diluc: he. is. horrified. He suddenly becomes a cat after eating a snack from sumeru that he was given to as a way for him to know “nature”, well at his defense, he didn’t know it means he would be turned into a cat!!!…It’s ironic that he becomes a cat in the first place. He has a cat allergy…why does he become a cat?! He can be a dog…why a cat?! He was pissed. He doesn’t want his fur to be everywhere…he’s an orange persian cat, a sassy persian cat with huge furs. He hates his catself and decided to hide himself under the table. “Diluc..?” You came inside his room and he immediately meowed..that’s a yes respond from him, you thought?…but how come diluc is a cat?!! You searched for the cat and immediately grab diluc’s tail when you found him. Hugging him. “Why are you hiding…you’ve become so cute after becoming a cat— w-wait?! HUH?! WHY ARE YOU A CAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!” You were confused as well and immediately laughed. Diluc was pissed and bite you for that! “Ouch!! Bad boy!”, and you realise. It’s not good that diluc has a huge fur like this…oh no…you have to deep cleanse his room just incase his allergy came back after he turned into a human (presumably). So he kept on purring for himself and snuggles himself behind the cover of the bed, you clean his room like a clean freak and afterwards have some snuggles with him using a “no-fur” jacket. He turned into a human 3 days later and…you seem to love his cat version more since he’s much more of a lovable fluff…

childe: he was turned into a cat after one of his fatui peers experimented on him, it’s safe to assume that he’s okay..it’s just…he has turned into a feline form of himself, a cat... he’s a tabby orange cat, the types of cat that are stereotypically unhinged. He was fine with it, he thought it’s a good idea to have an off schedule while he’s a cat. Well childe is unhinged so being an orange cat is exactly what he designed to be, so it’s fair…and when he gotten home, he didn’t bother to knock, just like a feline, he jumped through the window of your bedroom and goes to the bed while his paws knead the covers, theoretically, making a bread using his paws. When your footsteps march towards the bedroom, he didn’t bother to hide, he just kneads the cover until he’s exhausted and sleep. “AAAAAAAAAAA WHY IS THERE A CAT?”, you screamed ajd he was awakened. He meowed cohesively and sit down like a polite gentleman. He realise you might not understand his meows, he’s a cat now so…he goes to his picture and points out at the picture using his paws, understanding the cat body language you screamed again…”YOU’RE AJAX???”, this time confused…but also…”you look even cuter like this let m—“, with your very own cuteness aggression urge you jump to the bed and hug him. Kissing his cheeks while he meows. He’s being abused by your love and he’s kind of dizzy from it. He meows everytime and his soft paw try to resist because he wants to sleep but…being kissed by you this much makes him…weak. He stole food from other people to eat, it’s fun, he even stole some fish from some old men and brought it back for you to cook, it’s the opportunity to be a criminal while he’s in this cute form…and..he can sneakily make people fell in love with his cute face as he stole their steaks (his favorite indeed). He turned into a human again…months later. Being an orange cat is his life duty…

Zhongli: he’s bored. He already knows how it feels to be a dragon..a woman..and a man. Zhongli has been keeping an eye towards the stray cats near liyue, how come they’re so chonky and so..cute? So many people love them. Even you love them. so without further ado, with his no purpose in daily life for current recent..he becomes a cat. A black cat. A normal black cat with a shiny golden bell on his neck. Everytime he walks and has a stroll, his golden bell rings, people would take an immediate look at him, and pets him. His meow is deep, raspy too, yet the purrings are gentle, it makes the locals fell in love with him. This time he strolls near your favorite place, wanmin restaurant, you love to go there and has been addicted to their crab roe tofu ever since you guys are dating. So he jump to the chair beside you and sleeps…he’s enjoying your presence, even without pets from you. He’s happy just to hear your love for the food there or your presence all focused to that solemn food. you burped and it made his ears twitch. He just wants to follow you around and be with you. Suddenly you recognise the cat beside you and immediately carry it to your lap. “such a lovely black cat…i’ve never meet you before..”..you pat his head and carress his back. Oh my, he loves the back caressing…it feels like he’s being massaged on his old back…he kept on purring. He’s quiet and it makes you love this cat even more. When you carry it again, it just seems not to care and it makes you incredibly attached to him. At the same time he become a cat, you kept on searching for zhongli, still not getting the hint that he’s now a cat because zhongli barely give you a hint!! oh by the way, he turned into his human form only for 3 business days per week, because he wants to be pampered by you and follow you around while you gave him attention and space.
