Icenote's real name is Julianne Eirace, and her brother, Josh, is Airtwist.

Icenote is actually older than a good portion of the rest of the Central Point Gang, but prefers to be less prominent.

Her biggest flaw is being a pushover, but she won't be pushed beyond her morals.

Speaking of morals, she has very strong morals, very black-and-white, with not much room for grayer points. She clashes with her brother over this, but sets the argument aside when needed.

Icenote does not like being the only real adult in their pillar. Seriously. She hates being "mom". And she's kinda mad that these kids couldn't just be kids. Why couldn't the break point just be a few years later.

Dragonite is the hero alias of Clara McSwatski, a British Uni student who struggles to hide her scales and wings long enough to get her degree. This leads to her taking mostly online classes, which are also a lot easier to fit around crime-fighting.

Dragonite is the main contact for superpowered events happening in England.

Dragonite has reddish skin and scales, black hair that she keeps cut short, and fire breath. She mixes aerial combat with close range combat, and is very good at keeping her identity secret.

Dragonite got roped into the Pillars after Nightwatch ended up in England after a spell gone wrong with Magique. Dragonite tried to fight him after he fell out of thin air. They realized they were on the same side after a quick conversation once they both returned to the ground.

Dragonite is supposed to be kept far away from Tsunami and Ravenwing, but sometimes they all fly under Nightwatch's radar. And usually something gets blown up. Which is why they aren't supposed to be around each other.

so I do still work off and on on my original content btw, and I was rotating the ideas around for a while was I was doing a chore today, so here's a thought or two. Basically just an infodump on something no one else knows about oopsie.

for some context: in my world, there's a few different ways you can get powers, but most common are:

the "Natural" ways- where you're born with them basically. these power can have been present from birth or unlocked later, depending on genetics basically.

the "Accidental" way, where one's powers come from something like The Flash's backstory, an accident that messes up your genetic code and as a result, you gain powers. This is not very common compared to the natural way, but a little more common than

through "relics" or artifacts or whatever, objects imbued with powers that are granted to the wearer/bearer/wielder.

Additionally, once one hits the age of majority, whether they have powers or not, they are sent a form to register their powers with the local government (Though this can be done earlier, or in the case of accidental or relic powers, edited later), and they are also given a few options when doing so. There's a section for what you want the public to know about, a section for the actual details of your powers, and an option to register for a special license (I don't want to call it a hero license bc mha but it's similar). This license lets one legally interfere in a superpower conflict, especially if the conflict will otherwise inflict harm on civilians, both those with and without powers. Effectively, this allows someone to be a "superhero" legally if needed, and some people go pretty ham with that, costumes, secret identities, the whole deal.

There is a catch. If you are registered with that license, you can be dispatched on missions to help the government, if you have well-suited powers or abilities. Most people find that acceptable, so typically it's not a problem if someone gets a letter or email and take a quick trip somewhere else.

these registered "superheroes" don't have to keep their identities secret, and there are different levels of "clearance" that the registered person can grant to people of their choosing. For example, if a young teen in a bad home situation registers new powers, but doesn't want their parents to know about these powers, they can choose to keep this information fairly secret from everyone including their family, but may choose to grant their friends more information.

There are downsides to this sstem, but in general, it tends to work. This system also helps to track most of the rule breakers, I'm not going into that a whole lot right now.

ANYWAY. where I was initially going with this. There is a 4th category, but it's very rare. "Synthetic" powers are usually only obtained either illegally or through a lot of money, and involve literal dna editing and splicing. The wealthy who have this done can pick and choose their powers, sort of. if one does this legally, you are limited to one power gene. a power gene may have only one power, but might also have multiple, loosely related powers. A single power power gene may simply have an animal mutation, but a multiple gene may include the entirety of waterbending, so to speak. those are just examples.

There are potential drawbacks. Powers of the first three categories tend to either be well suited for the body they reside in, or to change the make up of the body just enough to make it stable. Synthetic powers don't necessarily do that, and sometimes, like a bad organ transplant, the body can reject the powers.

Anyway, yeah, I've been toying with the idea of a character who has synthetically gained powers thanks to wealthy parents, but the powers are ill suited to their body, which is where most of this train of thought came from.

as a kid, I walked into a closet, saw an enormous snake, and then walked out. I walked up to my dad, as you do, and said "dad there's a huge snake in the closet"

so he smiled smugly, grabbed his knife (I think it was a machete?), walked off, and then I heard him scream followed shortly by three panicked slams
