THE DAY YOU HEALED MY SOUL
Main characters Kit and Jade
Parallel Universe
PART 4
Titre : AN EMERGING FRIENDSHIP.
Tumblr media
Upon their arrival, a symphony of aromas wafted from the colorful stalls overflowing with tropical fruits, exotic spices, and artisanal products, accompanied by the sounds of vendors calling out their enticing offers. The intoxicating scents of local cuisine mingled with the spicy aromas of fresh herbs and the delightful fragrance of freshly caught fish. The stalls were adorned with piles of golden mangoes, juicy pineapples, and vibrant-toned bananas. Exotic-shaped vegetables and brightly colored spices added vibrancy to this lively and colorful market.
The merchants were smiling warmly, offering samples of exquisite fruits and traditional seafood dishes. The air was filled with lively conversations and a gentle ambient music played by a local band.
Kit took a deep breath. "It's incredible, Jade. A real little tropical paradise."
Jade nodded, joyful. "There are so many delicious choices. I often come here with my sister or my mother to shop for the restaurant. Come, let's pick out some treats for you."
Jade was warmly greeted by all the merchants as they made their way through the bustling crowd. They stopped here and there, tasting pieces of fruit and chatting with the sellers.
They found themselves in front of a seafood stall, where large, freshly caught, succulent red prawns were displayed and ready to be enjoyed. Jade made a joke that made Kit laugh. "That's Scorpia."
She chatted with every vendor, delighted to see her and curious to meet her new friend.
Spice Vendor: "Jade, sweetheart, how are you? Need some of our magical spices today?"
— Absolutely, Juan. Let me introduce you to Kit; she'll be working at the restaurant. I'm introducing her to our flavors."
— Welcome, young lady. If our Jade is sharing this moment with you, it means you mean a lot to her."
— Don't mind Kit, Juan loves to joke around
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and Kit was feeling more and more integrated into the island community thanks to Jade.
They continued their stroll and stopped in front of the fruit vendor.
— Kit, let me introduce you to Lucia; she grows the best mangoes on the island.
— It's good to see you, Jade. Who is this lovely friend ?
— Oh, let me introduce you to Kit. Our bartender
— Welcome to our place. A friend of Jade's is already a friend to all of us.
— Thank you, Lucia.
Jade's reputation and kindness seemed to have a positive impact on everyone she met. Kit felt fortunate to be accompanied by someone so well-liked and kind.
— You see, Kit, each person here is like a piece of the puzzle that makes up this island. That's what makes it so special.
— Lucia handed a mango to Kit. "Let me offer you one of our best mangoes. They're sweet and delightfully juicy. Perfect for a day as hot as this one."
Kit accepted timidly. "Thank you.
She took a bite of the ripe fruit, savoring the sweet and juicy taste. A trickle of juice ran down her chin, which she quickly wiped away with the back of her hand.
Jade grabbed a paper napkin that Lucia handed her and approached Kit gently. "Let me help you."
With tenderness, she gently wiped the mango juice from her friend's face. Their eyes briefly met. In that moment, Kit felt the weight of her grief transform into a deep connection with Jade.
Feeling a bittersweet embarrassment, she sought an escape from this sudden intimacy and turned to Lucia, who was waiting with an amused smile.
— It's really delicious. Thank you.
She was trying to regain her emotional stability, refusing to forget Emma and the real reasons for her visit.
— Ready to head back ?" Jade asked with a smile.
They left the local market. Kit carried with her the taste of the island and the excitement of this morning filled with discovery.
*******
They returned to the apartment, arms laden with bags brimming with fresh and assorted products.
— Thank you, Jade, for taking me to the market.
— You're welcome. I loved showing you this part of our life," she replied while placing the bags on the table.
They began to unpack the groceries.
— These mangoes are truly delicious," Kit exclaimed as she took the fruits and placed them in a bowl.
— Oh, absolutely. We make some excellent cocktails with.
They continued to unpack groceries while chatting. Kit was feeling more and more comfortable with Jade. This day had created a special bond.
As they worked side by side, their hands inadvertently brushed against each other. A shiver ran down Kit's spine. Her fingers made contact with Jade's, and this simple touch triggered a flood of emotions in her. On one hand, there was this feeling of closeness with Jade; all her movements were filled with tenderness. But at the same time, there was this pain that overwhelmed her. And this simple sensation of Jade's hand, though soothing, brought back the presence of Emma.
She quickly withdrew her hand and averted her gaze, hoping that Jade wouldn't notice the emotional turmoil raging within her. The two friends resumed their tasks, but Kit remained acutely aware of the connection, both comforting and painful, growing between them.
It was at that moment that Jade's phone rang. Kit felt relieved.
"Yes, Mom. Everything's fine. I was at the market with Kit... Alright, I'll tell her and I'll join you"
She hung up and looked at her friend. "I'm sorry. It seems my mom needs me. I have to go."
— Of course.
— However, you're eating with us. Don't forget your itinerary.
— Oh, I don't want to impose, Jade. It's really kind of her but…
— You know, sharing a meal at our place is a way of showing affection.
Grateful for the warm welcome, Kit gave Jade a sincere smile.
— Thank you for making me feel at home here.
— Well, you're here for a while, so you might as well feel comfortable.
Kit hesitated for a moment before speaking.
— Jade, thank you for showing me this beautiful part of your world.
— I hope you'll let me into yours as well.
Jade left, leaving Kit with mixed feelings of gratitude and pain.
She found herself alone, emotionally lost, her thoughts centered on Emma.
"Everything I experience here is for you. My heart belongs to you," she whispered, her voice filled with tenderness and pain.
*******
— Why did you bring Kit to our secret refuges! You know they're reserved for our family! » Scorpia exclaimed furiously.
— I understand, but you should have seen the wonder in her eyes. It was like thousands of stars lighting up," Jade spoke calmly and serenely.
— Oh, no, don't tell me...," Scorpia interrupted, her anger mixed with concern. "Pull yourself together; you're headed for disaster. There's no place for you in her life or her heart, for that matter!
— I just want to be there for her, nothing more.
— What will you do when she leaves? Have you forgotten the pain Grace caused you?
— Kit has nothing in common with Grace.
— How can you be so sure? You don't even know her!
— Cause she came to honor the memory of her lost love. When she talks about it, you can feel so much passion but also immense sorrow.
Scorpia's sharp words awakened an old pain in Jade, the memory of the day Grace broke her heart. The recollection was painful.
*******
The two sisters were sitting on the beach that bordered the family restaurant, watching the waves break on the shore. The wind gently blew through their hair.
Scorpia sensed the sadness in her sister's eyes. "Is everything okay?"
Jade stared at the horizon, then suddenly burst into tears, crying her heart out. It was a deep pain she was expressing, her breath hitching between each shed tear.
Scorpia held her in her arms. "What happened ?" She asked the question even though she knew the answer.
— Grace left me. She claimed she found someone else who could give her more than I ever did.
Scorpia was both deeply saddened and incredibly angry at the person who had just broken her sister's heart. She couldn't hide her emotions.
— I never liked her. If I ever run into her, I… (She held her sister tightly, as if trying to contain her anger.) I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm here, little sister. I won't let anyone hurt you again. I just hope you won't let this wound stop you from loving again. You deserve to be loved the way you love others.
Scorpia's anger pulled Jade out of her sad memories.
*******
The tension was palpable between the two sisters.
"I haven't forgotten, Scorpia, what you told me after you comforted me," Jade said.
Melissa arrived at that moment, putting an end to the argument.
"Kit has just arrived."
Jade joined her, leaving her sister with her mother.
— Honey, you shouldn't have brought up Grace's name. Arguing with your sister won't help and won't change her mind. She's an adult and will make her own decisions.
— An adult!!!! With her crazy dreams!!! And... She shouldn't be getting attached to Kit like this, in such a short time. Mom, we all know that sooner or later Kit will leave, and Jade will be hurt. (Scorpia couldn't contain her anger.)
— Feelings aren't something we can control, and they're not limited by time. Sometimes, it sweep us up instantly, without warning. That's the magic of human connections. Neither you nor I can predict what tomorrow will bring. (Melissa spoke to her daughter, her gaze soothing, hoping to calm her anger.)
Scorpia let out a sigh. "I've always been there to fix her mistakes, but this time, I don't think I can."
Melissa placed a comforting hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Scorpia, my honey, you can't control your sister's feelings. Whatever happens, it's important that we're there for her, that we support her, even if we don't fully understand her. Let's go eat."
"I have things to do."
*******
The meal had taken place in a friendly atmosphere, but Scorpia's absence was a silent reminder of her argument with Jade.
While Kael had enthusiastically spread out a map of the island on the table, he had started showing Kit all the beautiful places to visit. Each of the descriptions was filled with anecdotes, fascinating details, and personal stories, making each location even more appealing.
Jade slipped gently into the conversation, adding a touch of humor to it, although the weight of the argument with her sister still lingered in her mind. She wished she could share this warm atmosphere with her sister, to show her how special Kit was. She hoped that with time, Scorpia would get to know her and eventually accept her presence.
« By sharing each of our adventures on this island with her, Kit is with us until dawn," Jade said.
Kit smiled, and even Kael's expression seemed to soften. He grumbled, "Go help your mother in the kitchen."
The itinerary that Kit had meticulously prepared for Emma was now spread out before them. Her fingers delicately traced the paths drawn on the map, highlighting each place carefully chosen by Emma, as if she could feel her presence through them.
Jade approached gently. Her proximity made Kit startle. Her heart began to beat faster, and her body trembled from within. She tried to hide this internal conflict, as her feelings for Emma were still very much alive within her.
"You know, there's so much more on this island than what can be seen on a map. Some of the most fascinating stories remain hidden. Each place holds a little secret, a story waiting to be discovered. Just like this place," Jade said.
The moment Jade placed her hand on the map, close to Kit's, the latter slowly withdrew hers, overwhelmed by a feeling of attraction and fear. She forbid herself from betraying her lost love.
Kael, who had been silently following the conversation, chimed in, "That's what makes this island so special. There's a magic in its lands that goes far beyond appearances."
Kit let her thoughts wander, "I understand Emma's passion for this island and her desire to come here better now."
Kael, surprised, was about to speak up when Jade stopped him with a nod.
As the conversation between Kit and Kael progressed, Kit was swept away by a wave of nostalgia. She thought of her father with the painful certainty that she would never share this kind of experience with him. She was both overwhelmed by the determination to honor Emma's memory and saddened by the void her father had left in her life. Kael brought her back to reality.
— Young lady, I hope all of this will help you during your stay with us.
— Yes, thank you for your help.
— Jade, why don't you take your friend to get her car?
— Let's go.
*******
When the two friends entered Boorman's warehouse, the air was immediately filled with the distinctive smell of metal and wood, a mixture of aromas that was both raw and rich. This place was a true maze of treasures. All sorts of strange and bizarre objects were stacked from floor to ceiling. Old, battered cars were next to ancient statues, age-old musical instruments, works of art, and heaps of other unusual curiosities, including some broken items. It was as if the two young women had just stepped into a museum of eccentric wonders.
What captivated Kit the most was the name of the warehouse written in handwritten capital letters above the entrance: "Boorman's Bazaar. Everything you seek, Boorman finds for you." She couldn't help but smile as she read those words.
— What is this place, Jade? It looks like a location that would hide all the lost treasures of the island.
— You haven't seen the end of your surprises. Wait until you meet the owner.
Kit couldn't resist the temptation to touch the strange objects piled up on the shelves. She reached her hand towards an old copper lantern, her fingers sliding over the worn surface, and then a pirate compass adorned with gold, admiring the smooth texture against her skin.
She was interrupted by a cheerful voice coming from the back of the warehouse. "Careful, young lady. We touch with our eyes, not with our hands, otherwise who knows what might happen! Each item here is magical."
Boorman, the man behind this artistic chaos, was just as eccentric as his hideout. He wore a top hat crowned with round glasses, dressed in a paint-splattered waistcoat, and his beard and long black hair gave him a mysterious and enigmatic air.
"Welcome, ladies, to the sanctuary of the unpredictable," he exclaimed in a voice that echoed throughout the warehouse.
Boorman zigzagged his way toward them through the mountains of objects.
He addressed Kit, "Are you looking for something specific, or would you prefer to let chance be your guide?"
Kit and Jade exchanged an amused glance. The place and the man were so eccentric that it was hard to tell if Boorman was serious or not.
But Jade put an end to his act, saying, "Stop it, Boorman. She's with me. We're here to pick up the car."
"Ah, okay. You must be Kit. Follow me."
He led them through the maze of odd objects to the back of the warehouse, where a collection of vintage cars was parked.
They stopped in front of a lime green Jeep Wrangler with an orange interior, which amused
Kit. "You certainly like colorful cars," she remarked.
Boorman grinned widely and theatrically tossed the car keys to Kit.
"May it bring you as many adventures as the island itself, young lady. And don't forget, if you need anything else, Boorman is here to serve you."
As she was about to get into the vehicle, something caught her attention. It was a small vintage motorcycle, a gray-purple Honda Super Club C50. She approached the motorcycle, admiring the design. She could feel the slight roughness of the chipped paint under her palms, the smoothness of the aged leather saddle, all the irregularities of wear that spoke of many past adventures. Her hands wrapped around the handlebars, and she felt the familiar sensation of rubber against her skin. Every contact with the motorcycle seemed to awaken a long-dormant passion within her. The scent of the bike, a mixture of old oils, gasoline, and metal, was the scent of adventure and freedom.
She looked up to meet Boorman's enthusiastic gaze. "It's amazing!" she exclaimed. "A Super Club C50, am I right?"
Boorman nodded, impressed by Kit's knowledge of motorcycles.
"Exactly. It hasn't been ridden in years," he said, pausing before continuing thoughtfully. "Here's an offer for you. If you can get it up and running again, it's yours."
"Really ?"
Kit was tempted by the offer, but she remembered that Emma had been against the idea of her riding a motorcycle, fearing she might lose her. Out of love, she had agreed not to pursue it, but life had ultimately taken Emma away from her.
"Thank you for the offer, but I'll have to decline," Kit said, choosing to respect her lost love’s wishes.
Before the girls left the warehouse, Boorman called out to Jade, "Don't forget about Wednesday night. We're expecting you and your sister."
Jade replied with a radiant smile lighting up her face, "I'll be there. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us."
Boorman turned his gaze to Kit and said, "Hey, young lady, you're welcome too."
Kit smiled but remained silent.
"Tchao, Boorman," Jade exclaimed before they left.
As they stood in front of Kit's apartment, the street was bathed in the gentle glow of the moon, casting mystical shadows on the sidewalk. The silence was broken only by the sounds of waves on the shore, accompanied by the nocturnal chorus of animals.
Jade turned to Kit with a friendly smile. "So, what do you think of the car?"
"It's an absolute joy to drive."
Before Jade left, Kit called out to her. "Thank you, Jade, for this day, for... your kindness and your family's hospitality towards me. Thank you for everything."
"Oh, it's nothing. It's just how we are. Come on, get some rest, tomorrow you start your first day at the restaurant. See you tomorrow. Have a good night."
"Good night. See you tomorrow."
Alone at home, Kit thought about the day, which had been both joyful and sad. She had spent wonderful moments with Jade, but she couldn't help thinking about Emma's absence, the void in her heart that seemed impossible to fill. Doubt crept in.
"Emma, my love, these beautiful moments, I imagined them with you by my side. You wanted us to come here to help me heal my wounds. This motorcycle could bring me a hint of freedom if I accepted Boorman's offer. But I made the right decision. If you had met this man, not only would you have thought he came straight out of a fantasy tale, but his demeanor would have also made you laugh a lot."
This day had introduced her to the warmth of Jade's friendship, the kindness of her parents, and even the endearing eccentricity of Boorman. She had felt the weight of her sadness slightly lift. She lay down, closed her eyes, and fell asleep, letting the memories of these moments blend with those of Emma in her dreams.

Kit was both excited and nervous; it had been a few years since she'd last worked as a barmaid. As she entered the restaurant, the bewitching aroma of the kitchen filled the air. Jade, welcoming as usual, came to meet her.
- Ready for the first day ? she asked
- Yes, but I haven't been in the business for three years. Kit replied, trying to hide her nervousness, her fingers discreetly brushing the edge of the counter.
Scorpia came out of the kitchen and joined them. "Hello, here's the cocktail menu and in this notebook designed by our mother, you'll find the different ingredients used. If you need anything, don't hesitate." She declared confidently, frowning slightly, before returning to the kitchen.
Kit couldn't help joking to dispel her anxiety about the first days of a new job and the coldness between them. "Good, General." she murmured.
She stood behind the counter, anxious, feeling Jade's soothing gaze.
- Everything's going to be fine. Don't worry." she assured him, offering him a comforting smile.
Melissa arrived just then, "My darlings, I'm so proud of all of you. You're going to make this restaurant magical." she declared tenderly.
Kit felt a sense of gratitude and encouragement at these kind words, offering her a little more serenity.
During the first few hours of service, Jade would stand by her side, helping her master the preparation of cocktails while sharing anecdotes. Every time their hands brushed or their eyes met, Kit felt overwhelmed by a wave of conflicting emotions. Jade's gestures were fluid and assured, but every time she touched her, a spark of electricity ran through her body. These shared moments were both enjoyable and confusing for Kit. She tried to stay focused on preparing the cocktails in order to dissipate this growing inner tension.
For her part, while organizing the utensils, a concerned Scorpia kept a watchful eye on the budding relationship between the two young women. Melissa, busy supervising the preparation of the dishes, couldn't help smiling at her daughter's protective demeanor. "They seem to be adapting well to each other," she said in a gentle voice.
- I don't know, Mom. I don't want Jade to get hurt again.
Melissa put a hand on her daughter's shoulder, "Sweet heart, Kit seems like a beautiful person. Look how your sister glows. Give her a chance. Don't be too hard on her."
Scorpia nodded slightly and frowned "I'll keep an eye on them anyway."
She resumed her work, continuing to cast occasional brief glances towards the counter. When she felt they were too close, she opened the kitchen door and discreetly waved in Jade's direction.
"I must go. My sister's waiting for me in the kitchen to serve. But if you need anything, I'm not far away." she added,
As Jade walked away, Kit's nervousness gradually subsided, replaced by a sense of calm.
As the day progressed, Kit felt his anxiety gradually dissipate, exchanging knowing smiles with Jade.
The restaurant was buzzing with laughter and lively conversation, fragrant with the culinary smells emanating from the kitchens. This atmosphere took her back three years, to a time when she was working in a pub to serve a clientele of university students and finance her studies.
*******
The nostalgia of this memory was both warm and melancholy.
That evening, the atmosphere seemed to be peaceful, until the arrival of a group of four friends, including Emma, who had come to celebrate her birthday.
"Girls, this is my party! Let's have some fun! The cocktails are on me." she exclaimed, beaming and full of energy.
The moment she entered the pub, her presence lit up the atmosphere with her joyful laughter, which mingled with the ambience. Kit was immediately captivated by the sweetness of her voice and her mischievous gaze. She couldn't take her eyes off the graceful figure, dressed in jeans and a bustier, which highlighted her natural beauty. As her friends settled in, the young woman approached the bar. A dazzling smile lit up her face, captivating Kit's gaze as she tried not to feel unsettled.
- Hi! Can I have your most special cocktail to celebrate my birthday ?
- Sure, I think I've got just the thing. Kit replied, with a mixture of nervousness and enthusiasm.
As she prepared her drink, she couldn't help but sneak glances at Emma, who occasionally turned to her impatient friends.
- Here's your birthday cocktail.
The young woman took the glass, her sparkling eyes meeting Kit's, a spark of complicity emerging between them, revealing reserved emotions.
- Thanks, Kit. It looks delicious.
She raised the glass to her lips, gazing languorously at her interlocutor. The drink was both soft and sweet.
- Wow, that's excellent. Can you make three more for my friends ?
- I'll bring them to you.
Emma returned to her group of friends. As she sat down, one of them teased her, "I think you've made a real impression on her." For her part, Kit was fascinated by the way she radiated happiness and drew people around her.
The evening unfolded in an atmosphere of cocktails, laughter and lively discussion, to the musical beat of a local rock band. In the midst of this festive atmosphere, the two young women exchanged a fleeting, even shy, smile, an invitation to share this fleeting moment of complicity.
Time had passed quickly and the evening was drawing to a close. Before leaving the pub, Emma approached the counter. "Your cocktail was really delicious. I'm Emma, by the way."
Kit felt her heart skip a beat, "I'm so glad you liked it. I'm Kit."
A glint of excitement shone in Emma's eyes as she walked away with her friends. A shy smile played on Kit's lips as she murmured, "Maybe I'll see you soon."
*******
"Kit, are you okay? You seem out of it." Jade asked, noticing the distant expression on her friend's face.
The young woman blinked, returning to the present moment, smiling sadly. "All's well. Thanks, Jade. It's just memories resurfacing."
Jade sensed the complexity of her friend's emotions, "Memories can be both sweet and heartbreaking."
Much more than just memories, Kit had felt that Emma had walked through the doors of this restaurant to find her. "I thought that by coming to The Brigthly Stars Island, I might find some semblance of inner peace, but instead, this place keeps rekindling my far too deep pain." She murmured, letting out her pent-up emotions.
- Sometimes places that seem to be refuges become mirrors of our sorrows.
The morning was drawing to a close. The last customers had finished their meal and were about to leave the restaurant. In a burst of joy and excitement, Jade, her face beaming, grabbed Kit's hand, "Bravo, all the customers seemed delighted, even our regulars." The young woman, caught off guard by this friendly gesture, folded her fingers so as not to graze Jade's. "Thank you, Jade, for your support."
Melissa approached the counter, a benevolent smile on her face, accompanied by Scorpia. "I'm delighted with the work you've done this morning. She winked at Scorpia, "Good job. That's not all, but I need to clean the kitchen."
A few hours later, Jade joined Kit sitting by the beach, holding her itinerary tightly like a precious treasure.
"May I ?" Jade asked softly.
Kit looked at her furtively, "Yes."
She sat down beside her, preferring silence so as not to rush her or hurt her with words that might be awkward, her eyes fixed on the ocean.
A brief moment passed, thus, in an understanding and respectful silence, before Kit finally spoke. "This itinerary is all I have left as a link with Emma."
- Emma lives inside you, in every heartbeat, every breath, every memory.
Kit smiled discreetly, touched by her friend's empathy.
Jade stood up, "Come with me."
- What ?
- Come with me.
- Are you going to take me to one of your secret places ?
- Oh no, much more than that, I'm going to lead you to my dream.
Jade led Kit to the fishing port, a completely atypical place where the colorful boats, each uniquely designed and painted, seemed to sway on the crystal-clear waters. Each boat was adorned with symbols, protective signs, carefully placed by the island's fishermen to honor the mystical spirits of the sea.
Sunlight bathed the place in a soft golden glow. As they moved forward, a sea breeze caressed Kit's face, carrying with it a light scent of salt. The turquoise waters sparkled like a shower of tiny diamonds.
The soft murmur of the waves whispered tales of distant lands and forgotten legends in Kit's ear.
Each little hut had its own unique charm, its own little touch of magic, each standing like a rainbow wall.
Jade stopped in front of a medium-sized sailboat dancing on the shimmering waters of the harbor, seemingly straight out of an enchanted fairy tale. Its pure white hull, smooth and polished, was adorned with wave-like patterns and floral designs that came to life under the caresses of the sun's rays. The silvery sails resembled light feathers, ready to unfurl and vibrate in the breeze. Decorated with stars, each one containing a piece of magic shimmering beneath its brilliance.
"This is my dream." Jade murmured with a touch of emotion in her voice. Every word carried her aspirations.
- It's magnificent.
- Come on, let's go aboard.
Kit had just entered a veritable enchantment, intoxicated by the smell of wood. She walked among sculptures of mythical sea creatures, mermaids and nymphs, ready to awaken at any moment.
- Did you carve all these figures ?
- With my father. Come on, I'll show you around.
It was magnificent, and she could feel the softness of the wood as she placed her hand on the shiny banister. The young woman discovered a cabin, with walls adorned with marine animals - dolphins, seahorses, starfish - lit by a soft orange lantern casting a warm glow. The bed faced a window offering a superb panoramic view of the ocean. She was dazzled by this sailboat, which seemed to be inhabited by Jade's magic and dreams, ready to take her on marvellous adventures at the whim of the winds.
- It's incredible! It's like entering a magical world. You've put so much passion into every detail.
- It's not over yet, I still have more to do. I want this boat to reflect adventure and freedom.
The two young women now stood at the stern of the sailboat, admiring the sunset reflected on the ocean, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere. Seeking respite from her inner pain, Kit allowed herself to be drawn into the growing complicity with Jade. Jade, noticing a subtle change in her friend's expression, gently suggested, "You know, you could join me on this adventure, make this boat even more beautiful than it is."
Kit gently turned her gaze towards her, disconcerted "Ho... I... Jade, I…"
Seeing that his proposal had confused her, she pulled herself together, "I mean, you could think about it."
She smiled discreetly. Suddenly, Jade delicately took her hand, gently caressing the bandage. Surprised, Kit wanted to pull it away, but the way her friend was holding it prevented her from doing so.
- Do you want to talk about it ?
Kit's eyes turned away, staring at the orange horizon, reluctant to share this trying stage of her life, but Jade's sincere affection urged her to speak up: "They're just painful memories. Emma was convinced that coming here would allow me to mend this scar. Unfortunately, some scars can't be fixed."
Without a word, the young woman hugged her, eager to ease the weight of her grief. Reluctant at first, Kit eventually relented to the comforting embrace. She clung to Jade as if to absorb all the comfort she was offering and closed her eyes, savoring this intimate exchange, letting the pain of the past temporarily fade away. Jade's embrace brought Kit a brief moment of sweetness in her troubled world. Feeling the warmth of this friendship had shaken the shell she'd built around her grief. The waves rocked the sailboat as if to soothe them together and strengthen their embrace.
When they parted, Kit was a little lost between the pleasant moment that had brought her a little affection and the emotion of betrayal towards Emma's memory, like an infidelity to have found comfort in the arms of another.
Jade's tender gaze brought her back to reality, breaking the flow of her thoughts,
"We've got to get back to the restaurant."
The young woman nodded silently.
By late evening, as Kit made her way home, emotions were swirling inside her. It had been an exhausting day, but Melissa's warmth and Jade's embrace had brought her a tenderness she thought she'd never experience again.
She sat on the edge of the bed, lit by the subdued light of a bedside lamp. She carefully removed a photo of Emma from the shell of her cell phone. Despite the photo's wear, Emma's smile was as radiant as ever. Kit placed it beside her, grabbed her notebook, in which every page mirrored her innermost thoughts, and began to write a fictitious letter to the love of her life. Her eyes went from her words to the photo.
"My dear, sweet Emma,
Here I sit, surrounded by the memories that unite us. How I wish I could hear your voice, your laughter, cherish you, share every moment on this island by your side. This place, which for you was supposed to bring me comfort, continues to carry the weight of this pain that still haunts me.
Today, I let myself be carried away by this new emotion that only increases when I'm in Jade's presence. I never thought I could feel this way about anyone else. Sometimes I feel as if I'm betraying you by sharing my sorrows with Jade and giving in to her affection.
She's full of tenderness and understanding that gives me a little respite and helps me to let go of this suffering. I feel torn between my love for you and this new encounter.
It's so difficult because every smile I exchange, every moment I share with Jade pushes me to let go a little more of my pain and my past. Every moment spent with her is a painful reminder of my internal dilemma.
It frightens me, because I refuse to lose you forever, I refuse to forget you. I want to keep you preciously in my heart. You hold a place in my heart that no one else can take.
I love you."
She fell asleep, Emma's photo against her heart.

CHAPITRE 5
Titre : NAVIGUONS ENSEMBLE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On va s’amuser !
— Voici ton cocktail d’anniversaire.
— Merci. Ça a l’air délicieux.
« Kit ça va ? Tu as l’air ailleurs.

CHAPITRE 4
Titre : UNE AMITIE EMERGENTE.
Tumblr media
Kit accepta timidement « Merci beaucoup. »
« Grace m’a quittée.

— Viens on y va.
*******
« Ha ok, tu es sûrement Kit. Suivez-moi. »
Je me trompe ? »
— Oh, ce n’est rien. C’est notre façon d’être. Allez, repose-toi, demain tu commences ton premier jour au restaurant. A demain. Passe une bonne nuit.
— Bonne nuit. A demain.

KIT AND JADE QUEER ROMANCE FANFIC
THE DAY YOU HEALED MY SOUL
PART 3
Title : Jade's Secret Havens.
Tumblr media
The fishing port of The Brightly Stars Island was a picturesque place where colorful boats gently swayed on the crystal-clear waters. Sunlight bathed the area in golden light, creating sparkling reflections on the waves. The port was surrounded by small wooden cabins, each housing fishing equipment, nets, and crates for storing the precious sea bounty.
When Melissa and Scorpia arrived, Kael was already hard at work, busy unloading nets filled with freshly caught fish.
« Has the fishing been good, my love ? »
Kael stepped off the boat with a crate of fish, saying, « The waters have been generous today." Addressing his daughter, he added, "Scorpia, help me, take the other crates. »
The small boat, named « The Ocean's Foam » painted in bold white letters on the side of its azure blue hull, evoked both the wild beauty of the sea and Kael's dream of sailing the waves in search of lost treasures. This well-maintained vessel appeared to have seen countless adventures. Its white sails created a striking contrast against the deep blue of the hull.
As they worked together, Melissa called out to her daughter,
— Scorpia, honey, you went a bit too far with Kit.
— I want to know if she's worthy of joining our family business
— I know you want to protect us, especially your sister, but don't be too hard on her. I think she is going through tough times.
— I've noticed that, Mom, but... It's just that... I don't understand why Jade doesn't want to run the restaurant alongside me. She has the skills.
— Honey, everyone has their own dreams and aspirations. Let your sister follow her wishes.
Scorpia couldn't hide her anger. « What wishes!!! Those of going on adventures aboard the boat she's renovating with Dad's approval!!! This restaurant is our legacy, both of ours. Jade could help it grow with me! »
Kael intervened while remaining calm. « It's important to support your sister's choices, even if they differ from yours and ours. The restaurant will thrive under your management. »
Melissa gently placed her hand on her daughter's cheek to soothe her concerns. « I know you're worried about the day your sister will leave. You won't lose her. The bond between you two will never be broken by distance. »
Scorpia sighed.
— Come on, young lady, come help me, we still have work to do, all these fish won't wait.
*******
Jade was driving her hippie Beetle along the road lined with palm trees, with Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" playing in the background. She pulled Kit out of her thoughts.
— I want to apologize for my sister's behavior. She may seem tough and authoritative, but deep down, she's a very caring person.
— She's just trying to protect her little sister, Replied Kit with a smile.
— Sometimes a bit too much. She's going to be a tougher boss than our father.
— I think it's great that she's taking over the management. This restaurant is your whole life.
Jade sighed and turned to Kit. « "Yes, it is, but... Scorpia has always been the more responsible one of us two. She really wants to make the restaurant prosper, and that's commendable. She wants me by her side, but me... »
— What do you want ?
— My father left me a boat that I'm renovating with him. Oh, it's in perfect sailing condition, but I just want to make it more beautiful and give it a name. I want to see the world beyond this island. It's still a contentious issue between my sister and me, who believes it's my duty to manage the family business.
— I'm sorry, Jade, to hear that your dreams are a source of conflict with your sister. I know how important it can be to follow one's desires.
A sense of sadness washed over her as she thought of all the dreams Emma would never fulfill. Sensing her friend's sorrow, Jade decided to change the subject. « I'm going to take you to two beautiful places where I like to recharge. »
As they were carried away by the stroll, sharing stories and laughter, Jade's gaze was filled with tenderness and affection, revealing her desire to get closer to Kit. The young girl was avoiding this budding connection, her eyes getting lost in the passing landscape. Kit's heart was still trapped in the memories of her lost love.
« The first place I'm going to take you to is a natural sanctuary, a place of meditation for me. The perfect spot to recharge and connect with nature. »
Her demeanor, her gentle words, her smile, her passion for adventure, and the magic of The Brightly Stars Island all created a complex mix of emotions within Kit. On one hand, it was comforting to find certain qualities of Emma in Jade, but on the other hand, it stirred up the pain of loss.
« We've arrived. We'll have to walk »
The two young women left the old Beetle behind and entered a trail leading to the sanctuary. It was like stepping into an enchanting world where nature was at its peak. The narrow path wound its way through a lush forest where each tree seemed to tell an ancient story. The symphony of tropical birds adorned the atmosphere.
Excited to show her this place, Jade spoke with enthusiasm. « Welcome to the Natural Sanctuary. To access it, we have to cross this small wooden bridge lit by lanterns. Come, follow me. »
Kit followed her cautiously. Each step resonated on the wooden planks, and the soft light from the lanterns guided them until they reached the small pond of the sanctuary, surrounded by moss-covered rocks and tropical plants. The water was so clear that Kit could see the fish swimming among the colorful pebbles. She hesitated for a moment before plunging her hand into the water.
Jade smiled warmly. « You can, there's no risk. »
When the coolness of the water touched her skin, Kit felt a soothing sensation. The Natural Sanctuary was, in fact, a tiny island located at the center of this pond.
« It's a place of serenity and well-being. Somewhere you can find inner peace. That's why I named it The Serenity Sanctuary. It's my little secret refuge, » Jade spoke with a contemplative and gentle gaze.
She approached the lanterns arranged around them and turned a small crank beneath each of them. To Kit's surprise, a soft glow began to emanate.
« How do it work? » Kit asked.
« They're hand-crank lanterns. They're designed to work without electricity. It's a bit like making a wish every time I light one. I made them with my father. »
« Why did you bring me here? Why share your secret refuge with me? »
« Sometimes, it's nice to share a special place with someone who can understand and appreciate its beauty. Have a seat. »
They settled into small hammocks suspended, facing the pond, ready to savor the tranquility of the sanctuary.
« It's a beautiful place, isn't it? » Jade asked.
« Yes, it's wonderful. »
Kit looked at the pond, her eyes lost in the dancing reflections on the water, her gaze betraying a sense of melancholy. After a brief moment of silence, carried away by the serenity of the place, she let her thoughts escape aloud. « Emma would have loved this place. »
The mention of Emma intrigued Jade. « Emma? Who is she? »
She hesitated for a moment before responding, still gazing at the pond. « She was the most extraordinary person I ever had the chance to meet. »
Surprised to hear Kit using the past tense, Jade inquired, « Was? »
« She's gone. The illness took her a few months ago. »
« I'm truly sorry to hear that. » After a brief pause, she continued, « You came here for her. »
But Kit remained silent, her emotions still too raw to express with words. In this moment of calm, Jade glanced discreetly at Kit's right wrist, wrapped in a subtle bandage.
« Come, let's go see The Majestic Falls. »
The two friends ventured further into the lush vegetation of the island. Their footsteps echoed on the ground covered in leaves and gnarled roots. Each note of the living symphony carried Kit into a state of bliss. The birdsong was an intoxicating melody, and the insects provided a subtle percussion that added depth to this natural composition. She could catch glimpses of the vibrant colors of plumage as birds took flight among the branches.
As they continued, the sound of water grew louder, a soft and soothing murmur guiding them. Kit breathed deeply, letting the air of the tropical forest fill her lungs. The sweet, intoxicating scents of nature, a heady mix of fragrant flowers, rich earth, and invigorating humidity, enveloped her senses. Her keen eyes scanned their surroundings carefully. She ran her fingers along the delicate fronds of ferns, appreciating the slight velvety texture against her skin. Kit felt the coolness of the air like gentle kisses that awakened every inch of her skin.
Lost in her thoughts, she felt a hand on her arm. She startled slightly and turned her head to see Jade by her side.
« Be careful with the tree roots. It can be a bit slippery in places, » Jade cautioned.
When Kit heard the roar of the water, a shiver ran down her spine. She approached the edge of the pool, her breathing slightly quickened, and her pupils dilated. A spark of wonder and surprise danced in her eyes. A soft breath escaped her lips, as if it had been momentarily deprived of words. Her gaze got lost in the crystalline waterfall. She remained still for a moment, allowing herself to be enveloped by the fresh scent of swirling water, the soothing sound of droplets crashing against the rocks, and the gentle sensation of the moist mist on her skin. The echo of the waterfall's roar resonated in her chest, in tune with the beating of her heart.
« Wow... I didn't expect something so grand, » Kit exclaimed.
Jade's smile widened, pleased to see that Kit was sharing her enthusiasm.
« Come on, let's dip our feet. I warn you, the water is really cold. »
Kit turned to Jade, a smile spreading across her face, and followed her lead.
They removed their shoes and dipped their feet into the icy water.
Kit shivered. « Oh! It's really cold! »
« Yes, but it feels amazing. »
Fish darted between their toes, brushing against their skin and creating a tickling sensation.
The two friends burst into laughter.
However, behind this wonder, there was a pain that never left Kit, like a silent hovering shadow. Emma was always there, present in her thoughts, in every place she discovered. She felt a dull ache that mingled with her amazement. But she had to learn to live with this duality, to accept that the beauty of the world could coexist with the pain of loss.
« Let's go sit on those rocks, » Jade suggested.
The majestic waterfall cascading in a silvery curtain filled the air with its soothing melody, like a natural symphony that caressed their ears.
Kit spoke tenderly, as if her lost love were sitting beside her. « Emma, look at this, it's... magnificent. »
« I'm Jade, » she replied gently. « But I'm sure Emma would have loved this place. »
Kit felt embarrassed by her mistake and quickly apologized. « I'm sorry. »
« Don't worry. The beauty of this place can really make you feel close to those you've loved and lost. »
« It's just that... it was Emma's dream to come here. She would have loved to see this place. »
« It's wonderful that you want to honor her dream. But you have the right to create new memories. »
Kit took a deep breath, searching for the words to express her feelings. « Every memory I create in this place will be imbued with her presence in my heart and in my soul. »
After a moment of silence, Jade suggested, « How about we go shopping for the things you need? There's a small local market not far from here. »
« I'm with you. »

THE DAY YOU HEALED MY SOUL
Part 2
First steps at The Brigthly Stars Island
Queer romance Fanfiction
Main characters : Kit and Jade
Tumblr media
Located in the heart of the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean, The Brightly Stars Island was a hidden gem, protected by ancient mysteries. Surrounded by white Argentine sand beaches and lined with majestic coconut palms. This island paradise was a veritable sanctuary of natural beauty. The air was infused with enchantment. The sun's golden rays played with the foliage of the trees, projecting luminous flashes onto the ground, creating a bewitching dance of light. The bright, shimmering colors of the tropical flowers embellished every corner of the island, as if nature herself had decided to paint a living picture. The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island were home to dazzling marine life, with rainbow-colored fish, majestic turtles and playful dolphins that seemed to welcome visitors to their underwater kingdom.
At the heart of the island lay a lush forest where the trees seemed almost alive, whispering ancient secrets to one another.
Enchanted paths wound through the dense vegetation, leading to magical glades where fireflies danced in the night.
At dusk, the sky turned shades of gold and orange, offering a breathtaking spectacle. And when night fell, the sky's vault was adorned with thousands of twinkling stars, as if the galaxy itself had bent over this island, offering its cosmic magic.
The inhabitants of The Brightly Stars Island were renowned for their benevolence and human warmth. They were the guardians of the secrets and legends that permeated every corner of this island. Some claimed that invisible magical creatures roamed the woods, protecting the island from all evil.
Time seemed to slow down and every moment was an invitation to lose oneself in the splendor of nature and magic. The Brightly Stars Island was a place where burned hearts and souls could open up to the wonders of the world, bond with nature and heal from deep suffering.
These were the reasons Emma had always shared with Kit her wildest dream of coming to this place. Convinced that this magical island, full of mysteries and wonders, would have closed the gaping emptiness tearing at the heart and soul of her sweetheart.
*******
Kit woke up slowly but gently, often grumpy in the mornings, "My little grumpy darling" as Emma used to call her.
Her first night on the island was lulled by the gentle murmur of the waves caressing the beach, the chirping of the crickets and the heady scent of exotic flowers, giving her a sense of well-being and serenity she hadn't felt for too long.
Kit got up 1 hour before sunrise, showered, changed into a light outfit and headed for the restaurant where Melissa was waiting to share breakfast.
When she arrived at the restaurant, Jade's mother greeted her warmly, her radiant smile reflecting her love and joy at finding her again.
Fresh, juicy, sweet fruit and local specialties such as baked salted fish fritters, cornmeal porridge and plain milk were all on offer, creating a tantalizing picture that whetted Kit's appetite.
The place was mythical. Their restaurant was a veritable haven of peace and charm, perfectly integrated into the island's paradisiacal environment. The delicately hand-woven wicker chairs seemed to blend harmoniously into the natural setting. Their comfortable shapes and soft cushions invited you to relax and contemplate the breathtaking landscape. Under the benevolent shade of the majestic palm trees, their slender trunks formed a kind of natural canvas, gently filtering the emerging light.
Mélissa had placed candles on each of the rustic wood-scented tables, adding a subdued glow to the first light of dawn.
They sat down at a table on the beach, with a breathtaking view of the sparkling ocean and their feet in the fine sand. It was pleasant. The beach was deserted, silent except for the waves, which provided a soothing symphony. The white sand formed the restaurant's natural floor. Bare feet sank deliciously into this natural carpet, offering a unique warmth and softness.
Melissa began the discussion.
- Sorry I made you get up so early. How was your first night here? I hope the accommodation suits you.
- It didn't bother me at all. It was simply magical. The sound of the waves and the soft air gave me a serenity I haven't felt since... The apartment is perfect. Thank you so much.
Kit's heart was torn between the wonder of that first magical night on the island and the deep sorrow of not being able to share it with Emma. She remembered the tenderness of their embrace. The pain of no longer being able to experience those moments together was heartbreaking, for Emma was the person who had made every moment special and prodigious. She wished she could have been in her arms that magical night. She would have whispered in her ear the words of love she treasured in her heart. That first night brought her face to face with the reality of losing her sweetheart. For the first time since Emma's death, she allowed herself to feel the pain of this absence, while letting the magic of the island bring her a little comfort.
- I'm so glad you're feeling well. You'll see, this island has a calming power. It's a special place where nature offers comfort.
- I feel this island is a refuge for the soul. I came here to…
Whenever their eyes met, Melissa could see a fleeting glimmer of sadness in Kit's eyes. As if the memory of Emma made her vacillate between the joy and pain of the past. Melissa was a person with a loving and caring heart. She was deeply touched by Kit's suffering. As a mother, she wanted to offer her support and listen, but she also understood the importance of giving Kit the space and time he needed. She felt she needed time to open up and share her pain. When she was ready, she would be there for her.
- I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Enjoy your stay here. Know that you're welcome in our family. We'll be with you every step of the way.
- Thank you so much for your welcome and kindness.
They exchanged a knowing smile, marking the start of a new adventure under the sign of the love of this family and the magic of the island.
- Oh, look, the show's starting.
The sunrise was a breathtaking spectacle, a veritable symphony of colors and sensations. As the darkness of night began to dissipate, the horizon blazed with a palette of warm, shimmering hues ranging from orange and gold to shades of pink and purple. The first rays of sunlight danced over the glistening ocean, melting into the horizon with infinite softness. The blue and turquoise hues of the water blended with those of the sky, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
The majestic palm trees that lined the beach seemed to be adorned in gold, their leaves shining like jewels under the rays of the rising sun. A gentle sea breeze brought with it the intoxicating scent of the ocean, filling the air with a salty, invigorating perfume. The sky was painted in increasingly intense hues, like a constantly evolving painting. The clouds, which seemed like soft touches of paint on the celestial canvas, were transformed into a gradation of striking colors, adding even more magic to this marvelous spectacle.
The seabirds awoke, launching their joyful songs into the morning air. Their silhouettes stood out against the sky, adding a touch of life and movement to this enchanting backdrop.
As the sun continued its slow ascent, the whole island seemed to light up with a golden glow. Nature gradually awoke, offering a harmonious concert of sounds and colors.
Time seemed suspended, where the soul felt connected to the pure, eternal beauty of nature. This spectacle was a reminder of the beauty and magic that permeated the island, bringing hope to every wondering heart.
The golden rays caressed Kit's skin. She longed to realize this dream with Emma. Yet, in this timeless moment, she could feel her presence. Their love could transcend time and space. She knew Emma's dreams would live on in her. She imagined her beside her, contemplating this wonderful moment.
Suddenly Kit saw a small fishing boat sailing in the distance. She remembered one of the legends Emma had told her. That of a magical lighthouse that lit up the darkest nights of sailors lost at sea. She used to say that this lighthouse was the brightest star on the island, guiding dreamers to their deepest wishes.
Kit's gaze fell on the horizon, where the sun was just rising. She knew that Emma was now that star shining in the night of her heart, bringing her courage and hope. Her heart filled with love and memories, Kit murmured softly to herself, "You're right, my sweet, this island really is a magical place. I know you would have loved these colors, this light. I know you're here, somewhere in this immensity. I feel your presence in every breeze that caresses my face, in every ray of sunshine that warms my heart. You'll always be by my side, in every step I take on this enchanted earth and in my whole life."
Kit let herself be carried away by emotion, tears glistening in her eyes. She felt a deep connection with Emma, as if their souls were bound for eternity. She continued to contemplate the sunrise. She felt an inner strength growing within her, drawn from the love she had shared with her Beloved. Her memory would shine in her heart forever.
- I'm so sorry. It's the emotion. It's... so beautiful.
She apologized to Melissa for her tears.
- My young child, don't be. You're allowed to cry. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of the island, let it guide you to the path of your healing.
Kit smiled.
Jade appeared in the distance, accompanied by her sister Scorpia. Kit discreetly wiped away her tears. The words exchanged would remain between them. A silent act of respect and trust from Melissa for the girl's privacy.
They sat down.
- This is my sister, Scorpia. She works in the kitchen and will be the future manager.
- Hello.
- Hi.
Scorpia, tall and slender, carried an obvious assurance, a sharp, empathetic gaze. Her husky voice sounded like a melody both mysterious and fascinating. Her red hair, pulled back in a neat braid, added to her straight, confident look. Yet what lay behind this outward appearance was a caring, compassionate soul.
Both sisters discerned Kit's delicate gesture, the fleeting sweep of her tears. Like their mother, they remained silent about what they had observed, but looked at each other briefly.
While breakfast was going on in a warm atmosphere, Scorpia fixed Kit with her piercing gaze. She spoke in an authoritative voice, revealing the self-confidence she had inherited from her father.
- So, you're joining our family team.
Kit sensed the intensity of the question in the young woman's eyes and voice. She understood that this opportunity was not just a job, but an invitation to join the family legacy. The elder of the two sisters wanted to see if Kit was ready to get involved.
- I'm honored to be part of your team.
Scorpia watched Kit attentively, analyzing every word, every expression. After a brief moment of silence, her face softened slightly.
- Welcome. Working with us means being part of a family where everyone gives their best.
Scorpia's determined character was evident in every word she spoke. She was uncompromising when it came to the family business.
Jade, sensing the intensity of the conversation, decided to bring a note of gentleness to it. She turned her attention to Kit, a benevolent smile lighting up her face.
- What my sister means is that for us, it's more than just a job. It's our way of sharing our passion for cooking and creating special moments for all the people who come here.
Her voice was soft and soothing, contrasting with her sister's commanding assurance. Jade had always had this natural ability to bring comfort and empathy to those around her. She continued, enthusiastically.
- Every dish we serve has a history, a tradition, and we truly believe in the importance of transmitting these values through our meals and, of course, the cocktails you'll be serving.
Kit felt her heart warm at Jade's words. She appreciated the way she managed to strike a balance between her sister's assurance and her own gentleness.
She imagined Emma sitting at that table, sharing that breakfast with them, laughing and chatting with the same sweetness and authenticity they displayed. It was a painfully beautiful vision, an alternate reality Kit would have loved to experience. She would have loved to hear Emma's sweet voice mingle with that of Jade, Scorpia and their mother. She wished this family could have known her. She could almost feel her presence, imagining shared smiles, tender gestures. She knew that if Emma had had the chance to meet this family, she would have been immediately welcomed with affection for her gentle, loving nature.
Despite this deep desire, reality could not be altered. Emma was gone, but her impact on her life and her heart remained, the imprint that guided her and urged her to honor her memory.
As the conversation continued, the waves gently caressing the shore and the sun illuminating their little corner of paradise, Melissa, in her gentle voice, interrupted the moment. She stood up with Scorpia.
- My darlings, it's time for both of us to welcome my husband back from his morning fishing trip.
Her tone expressed a combination of respect for family tradition and pride in her husband's work.
Jade, who had remained seated, turned her gaze to Kit.
- My father has always been very attached to the sea and fishing. He likes to share what he brings in with us and the restaurant's customers. It's a tradition that goes back generations.
Jade's admiration and respect for her father was evident in her voice.
While Scorpia, her mother and Kael gathered near the shore, Kit watched the horizon. Alone with Jade, she felt her gaze imbued with a touching benevolence. Yet this attention made her uneasy. In the depths of her soul, she knew she wasn't ready to open her heart again, to let a new person into her life.
All those intense moments shared with Emma were still far too present, every laugh, every caress, every word. She didn't want to replace her. She neither wanted nor could erase this history with a new romance. Her complex emotions showed in her eyes as she met Jade's gaze. She offered him a shy smile that couldn't hide her bruised heart.
Jade understood, her gaze soft and compassionate. She wouldn't press Kit, wouldn't try to break down the barriers she'd erected. She would let time do its work, trusting that hearts would heal at their own pace, aided by the magic of the island.
The scene seemed suspended in a delicate balance between past and future, between pain and healing.
As Jade watched Kit intently, she intuitively sensed the pain that lay within her. However, she didn't insist, respecting Kit's need to keep certain emotions private. She chose to share a magical moment linked to the island.
- This island has a unique way of touching our hearts. It offers a refuge for our emotions. I think everyone finds a haven for their soul here.
Kit noticed the similarity between Jade's words and Emma's, as if the two women shared the same vision of The Brightly Stars Island and its healing power.
The young girl smiled softly, touched by Jade's wisdom. Their eyes met in a silent communion of shared emotions.
As the sun bathed the island in its golden light and the waves continued their dance, Kit knew she wasn't ready to love, but perhaps she could begin to heal.
Jade rose gracefully to her feet, her smile as warm as ever and her presence soothing. She'd promised Kit she'd go shopping with her. An offer that showed her willingness to be there for her without rushing her.
- If you're ready, Let’s go shopping. On the way, I could show you a few places. This will give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the island. I could also help you get settled.
Her soft voice reflected genuine sincerity. She wanted Kit to feel at ease as she acclimatized to this new environment.
The young girl was touched by Jade's kindness. She took the gesture as an invitation to share a moment together.
Kit stood up, guided by her budding friendship with Jade. Together, the two women made their way to the famous colored ladybug, ready to explore the island and share this moment that heralded a new beginning.
