I love this man.

I see Will as the type that knows who he likes and doesn’t really have a label for it that feels right to him so he’s unlabelled.

He’s had some relationships with men and women in his college years but nothing really felt too serious to him.

For the first few years after he realised that he was Queer he didn’t really feel comfortable coming out. The people he hung out with didn’t really respect him so he didn’t feel like they were the right people to tell. After he met everyone at the Sanctuary he felt more comfortable coming out as Queer.

He had a crush on Henry when he first met him and definitely felt close to him. Henry’s voice was the thing to calm him down when he was injected and changed. In my shippers heart they get together but unfortunately the show didn’t do that 😭

He gets frustrated when people say that he doesn’t seem queer when they find out. He knows that they’re stereotyping him and it makes him annoyed and uncomfortable.

He’s flustered when anyone is flirting with him.

The first person he came out to in the Sanctuary was Helen as he felt very connected to her and he felt she’d understand. Helen becomes protective of him after finding out but knows he can handle himself because he’s dealt with it every day his entire life but she will step in if he needs help.

Kate thinks it’s great because she’s bi and she can talk to him about stuff.

Henry is bi too and also eventually develops a crush on Will.

Everyone in that Sanctuary is Queer.

Helen frowns, pressing the back of her hand to Kate's forehead. "You're warm," she says, trying to keep the concern out of her voice. Kate hates being coddled-so very like Helen in that way-but some coddling may be in order here. She's feverish, and by the look on her face, she may not be hearing half of what Helen says.

"'s just hot in here." Kate's brows furrow.

It's absolutely not-Helen Magnus keeps her house perfectly comfortable, thank you very much-and Helen sighs. "You need to lie down."

"'m fine."

Stubborn, stubborn girl. Helen shakes her head. "This isn't a suggestion. Go lie down, and I'll have my old friend bring you something to drink."

With a huff and an eyeroll that reminds Helen far less of herself and far more of a ghost she cannot name, of blonde hair and ripped jeans and sneaking out of bedroom windows, Kate rises to her feet, only to sway on the spot. Helen catches her, barely, steadying her shoulders.

"Can take care of myself," Kate mutters, but her voice is smaller now, less sure. "Been doing it my whole life."

Oh, how she wishes she had met this young woman sooner, that she could have spared her the pain of fending for herself. But she's here now, so with a reassuring squeeze to her shoulder, she replies, "A useful skill, no doubt, but not one you've any need of employing here. Come. Let's get you to your room."

At last the fight seems to drain from Kate, and she lets Helen guide her through the Sanctuary halls to the messy bedroom Kate has made her own. Poor girl, Helen thinks, as she helps her settle in. So many people willing to help her, and she's still trying to make it alone.

The thing that I love most about "Sanctuary" is probably how this show creates complex bonds (especially platonic ones) between its characters and explores them in various contexts.

As much as I like playing with the idea of romantic Helen/Will (whether requited or unrequited, both is good), platonic Helen & Will have my whole heart. They are the cornerstone, the essence of Sanctuary experience for me. Their friendship, this almost tangible connection that they develop and strengthen during the course of the series is what truly makes this show stand out to me.

Apart from Helen and Will's connection, we also have genuine found family dynamic between all members of Helen's team. Big Guy is the caregiver for the whole group, a big softie, and a wonderful friend. Kate is the little sister, annoying at times, but protective of her own and extremely loyal to them. Henry, our genious tech guru werewolf, is the nerdy kid, and the fact that Helen raised him as her own and is basically his mom is so precious to me, I cannot even begin to describe it.

Moreover, we have the Five, and don't even get me started here, because I can talk for hours and hours about all of them together and each of them individually. Even those tiny bits and pieces that we got of their history together fascinate me. Helen and her boys. John, James, Nikola, Nigel, all brilliant in their own way, all daring to explore the unknown and to grasp something that is beyond their reach. And the bond between these brilliant men, plus Helen's relationship with each of them (sometimes romantic, sometimes platonic, sometimes a weird mix of both), the possibilities, the potential - all of this keeps me up at night, I'm not even joking.

With fanfiction.net the way it is, many people have been saying that it'll likely go down sometime very soon. So I'm going to try and save as many fics under the show Sanctuary as I can before that happens - maybe I'll manage to save all of them, who knows - in the hopes of preserving works that otherwise could be lost forever.
