Officer Dunn -FNAF Alternate Universe

This was a really good question and one I wanted to tackle in semi-comic form. The version of events that lead to Officer Dunn possessing Glamrock Freddy are ones I have put my own twist on based loosely on the FNAF novel The Silver Eyes by Kira Breed-Wrisley and Scott Cawthon.

In my opinion Officer Dunn was a character that had a lot of potential and had an excellent base for true and meaningful motives that could have driven him and the FNAF lore forwards.

I’ll start with some background. Officer Robert ‘Bobby’ Dunn was new to the department in Hurricane, Utah. At the start of his career he had taken on a number of cold cases. One of which being Hurricane Utah’s most infamous, the disappearances of 5 children at local pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear’s.

Bobby dug into the evidence surrounding the events that transpired. He began investigating further, which led him to the doorstep of the then closed building that had once been operating as the restaurant in question. He made multiple trips to Freddy Fazbear’s and was able to uncover old files, blueprints of the building among other documents. All of which aided in fleshing out missing details from the original report.

The chief of police found out about Bobby’s ventures and advised against his continued digging. He was worried for his officer’s safety in a building that was legally condemned by the city. Despite this however Dunn returned to the restaurant, feeling he needed to take one last look.

It was raining hard the night Officer Dunn arrived at the rundown establishment. Upon going inside he had the strangest feeling that he was being watched. Bobby made his way to the back office, in the hopes of retrieving files that may have been left behind. Employee records, spreadsheets, checkbooks, anything.

The next thing he knew his throat felt like it was burning and he couldn't breathe. The last thing he saw…was a rabbit. Decrepit and laughing wildly as it loomed over him while he bled out on the dirty checkered floor. Bobby’s world went dark… The moment that he was self aware he found himself standing in that office. With no concept of how much time had passed or- what happened to him. Thinking it had all been a strange dream he attempted to leave but each time he tried he would wind up right back where he started… in the office.

Bobby soon met them. The little ones. The children who had gone missing. First there was one…the bravest. Then there were two. Soon he was in the presence of more.

They were scared...Bobby realized almost like he had forgotten- that they were the reason he had come here. Any relief Bobby had felt by finding them evaporated when he realized they were like him. Gone…just not entirely.

Over time Bobby gained their trust, learned their names and heard their stories.

Each child had met the same golden rabbit dressed in purple who lured them away from their families and led them to their end. Bobby promised them that no matter what happened… he would protect them. He would not leave them and that somehow…he would see justice carried out.

They stuck together from that day forward, becoming some version of a family. Bobby had always wanted children and they needed him. The officer took it upon himself to ensure nothing happened to any of them. The children showed him the suits that their bodies had been hidden inside of. One of them… the bravest, had excitedly shown how he could manipulate the robot itself. Making it talk and do exactly as he wanted rather than whatever it had been programmed to do.

The Animatronics were their safe space, the item they felt secure to hide away in. Bobby, having not been stuffed into a suit at his end, had the freedom to move about where he saw fit…on an endless security patrol. After all, he had no reason to hide.

The case files that Bobby had looked into, stated that five children had gone missing from the Pizzeria but he had only met four. Gabriel who resided within Bonnie, Susie who remained within Chica, Fritz who hid inside of Foxy and Cassidy who took up residence inside Freddy. Cassidy was the only child who ever hid from Bobby, wanting nothing to do with him. She was aloof and untrusting. Angry and spiteful. She had died on her birthday and she definitely asserted herself to be the ringleader of the others at least for a time.

At first Cassidy would use the Freddy suit like the others but eventually she seemed to vanish entirely. Losing interest in the suit like a child outgrowing a toy. They all looked for her but never came back to them. It almost seemed as though she did not want to be found.

Bobby had thought maybe she had…passed on. Moved on, perhaps found peace? At least that is always what he had hoped was true. Though he was not entirely sure, sometimes he thought he could still hear her. Eventually with her absence persisting and the children wishing him to stay closer to them Bobby begain to occupy the Freddy Animatronic.

He has been inside every sense. Every rendition the mascot has undertaken , every upgrade. It's still him. Hiding like the rest of them. In plain sight but unseen.

Over the past forty years Dunn was able to put together the full story. Which quickly became stranger than fiction .

One of the founders of Fazbear Entertainment, William Afton, was responsible for the murder and disappearance of the children, Officer Dunn and countless others who had worked for the company. He was tried and acquitted of all charges…found not guilty by the courts due to the lack of evidence. Meaning he got away with it. He got away with all the lives he stole.

The justice system failed…but karma seemed to come back around for Afton. In a fitting twist of fate that man who had dismembered and stuffed the bodies of small children into the suits of animatronics met his end inside of one. He died…but he didn’t leave. He remained inside that crumpled bunny suit until Bobby walked into that office. Giving him a new victim.

William Afton’s soul lives on…free from meeting the justice for his actions and free to continue his twisted experiments within the catacombs of the pizzaplex. The children’s souls can not truly be at rest until he is gone for good and Officer Dunn has sworn to put an end to this cycle once and for all. Protecting everyone to the best of his ability, as he swore to do when he first donned the badge.

Happy 1 week til the FNAF movie! Today’s artwork goes to the first two games in the franchise, FNAF 1 and FNAF 2!

9 years ago on August 8th, Scott Cawthon released the very first Five Nights at Freddys game. It was the start of a booming francise that grew and grew with each new game. This game already had tidbits of secrets that Scott hid throughout the Pizzeria, secrets that would only spiral and develop with each new installment.

Five Nights at Freddys 2 was released just three months later on November 11th. As more and more people heard about the new horror game, the fanbase expanded rapidly. Youtubers and theorists alike picked up the game quickly and viewers watched excitedly for what the new game would bring.

Hey DogMan, random question but do you still like the Dsaf games and the fans keeping the series alive?

I wrote out 6 different incarnations of this answer and I had to delete them all because they either sounded more bitter than I was intending or sounded too optimistic to be honest. This is my best draft. I promise it ends on a very positive note, if it seems negative at first. Also, I know this is long, but this is very important for me to state. Just give it a chance.

The truth of the matter is: 

I work on Dialtown now. Statistically, almost everyone who plays DSaF does not try Dialtown out, which I know because I have access to both my GJ and Steam site-analytics. The reason why: because Dialtown is not Five Nights at Freddy's related, pretty simple. DSaF's success has literally nothing to do with any of the positive qualities of my own work: it's because it's a fangame of a very famous series that some big youtubers promoted years ago. That statement is true of most FNaF fangames and I’m 100% at peace with that fact. The series doesn't really need to be 'kept alive'. It gets hundreds of downloads a day (despite being over for years) and has every single day since I started DT development. I get nothing from DSaF. GJ doesn't even give me ad revenue anymore. I just host the games bc people would download them from dodgy sites and get viruses otherwise. It’s the right thing to do. There's DT ads all over the DSaF page, so, y’know, DSaF fans know where to find me. The fact they don't follow through shows that these fans aren’t interested in DT. They're uninterested because they know Dialtown isn’t another FNaF fangame, y'know? Therefore, it's a lil odd when I get questions about whether or not I'm happy whether or not the series is still alive because it doesn't have a whole lot to do with me, these people don't like my work, they like FNaF. These are Scott Cawthon's fans, not mine. I'm still very much attached to some of the characters I made, though telling DSaF fans that my original (non-FNaF related) DSaF characters appear in DT did not attract them to DT. I like the story I told in DSaF, but telling fans that DT's story has similar themes but is WAY better executed did not attract them to DT. DSaF's success is specifically and totally... just because it's a FNaF game on GJ that people have heard of and ultimately, the same thing largely happens to other game devs when they move on from making fangames. I’m not in any way unlucky in this aspect, this is very normal. It’s very important for me to say: I'm not a victim or anything, quite the opposite! Dialtown has done better than I ever thought it would as an independent product and it's really neat to say that DT achieved (mild) fandom status, even though the DSaF fandom broadly ignored it and most youtubers in my circles refused to touch it because it wasn't Five Nights at Freddy's related and therefore: easy clickbait. I have so many DT fans that never touched or even heard of DSaF, and that's really special to me. It shows that the game succeeded on its own merits, and that it isn't just riding on DSaF's or even FNaF’s coattails. I love the Dialtown fandom. The amount of fantastic fanart I get is astounding, just look at what I share here and on Twitter! I have intelligent, empathetic and very supportive fans and I couldn't be HAPPIER with my current fanbase! I even get MONEY for doing DT, which is such a really nice bonus. DSaF was just something I did for free, kinda... thanklessly. The fandom was honestly really hard to handle at times, very volatile and the amount of fucking crazy people that felt entitled to vast amounts of my time was just... ho boy. I never got paid a cent to deal with any of that (save for me having a lil Patreon tipjar during 3′s development which didn’t net me a whole lot either), I just... did it out of the kindness of my heart, and in the end, it seemed pretty unappreciated, seeing how that fanbase talks about me on other sites now. I’m not really sure how ostracizing a developer for content in a game that someone still follows/actively promotes, when the developer doesn’t stand by that content and has humbly apologized for it, but the game timelessly displays it forever makes a whole lot of sense, but hey, what do I know, right? I’m so so glad to say: I've never had to delete DT fanfics that display minors in NSFW situations! Not as much for DSaF. I've never received a graphic (or any sort of) death-threat from a Dialtown fan. Ditto. When I mess up, my fandom helps me correct my errors and improve myself without insisting I intentionally did something wrong as soon as they have a possible argument to make. I remember when I launched DSaF 3 and one of my artists included a very commonly used word (big internet meme at the time) that I found out was offensive later. Some DSaF fans instantly made out that I’d intentionally said something offensive and wanted to go scorched earth without even approaching me to ask first. Being seen as a human by my fanbase is so so important to me and I’m really happy to learn from and acknowledge my mistakes if people are willing to let me do so. I’m a human and I’m always up for learning how to be a better one. I don’t want to do anyone intentional harm, so if you ever see stuff in my writing that can be more sensitive to delicate social issues/marginalized groups, please (politely) let me know. I love-love-love my current fanbase, no other way to put it. So, this isn't a sad story, but a happy one. There's content in DSaF that I outright HATE now, and DT is entirely free of it! DSaF had some ignorant (not intentionally hurtful, mind you) jokes in it (being a meme game from the last decade), and DT is free of that content as I've now learned better. I'm happy with how things have turned out. Of course, I get that not everyone can move on from things, people on the internet like conflict, they like ostracizing others and taking other people down a peg. It’s not really about about protecting anyone or anything like that, more so just angry people wanting to bully others but wanting to phrase it like they’re doing a good deed because they can’t bear to be spoken to the way they speak to others. So, they exclusively target people they can blame for saying something ignorant in the past and will go digging for something to throw at a person they want to see others target, often finding quotes from times when people were en-masse way less socially conscious and before someone’s views evolved. It’s different being a public figure on the internet because your social evolution is public and locked in time. To become more socially aware/sensitive, you have to first have been less socially aware and finding someone that is openly and very supportive towards marginalized groups said something ignorant without realizing that they’ve apologized + corrected isn’t really as big a thing as people think it is. Likewise: Telling someone to kill themselves, no matter what they’ve done, does not make the world a better place under any circumstances and if anyone tells you otherwise, they are not looking out for your best interests. We live in a very radical and angry age where people are looking for someone to blame for how bad things have gotten. Be kind. The world needs it. But to circle back, DSaF is not a part of my life anymore and while the idea of going back to it one day and 'fixing' it (even still now!) is very appealing because it was my first big thing that people played and it’d be cool to do it again, but better and show off my new skills: my main priority right now are my loyal DT fans, who don't just follow my work because it's popular, but because they genuinely like it. They like my characters, my stories, it's not just a FNaF thing. I'm so, SO grateful for my current fanbase, y'all have no idea, and if you’re a DT fan reading this, remember: that includes YOU. I really hope this helped clarify my exact position on things. I'm very very okay with how things have turned out, don’t get me wrong. I simply couldn't ask for a cooler fandom and better friends than I have now and I don’t wanna go back to how things were before.

like outside of those things you mean? here's the ones i'd listed/instantly came to mind. a lot of things people rag on him about are like OLD old (early 2010s, like the whole "basing pyro's sex off of weird pseudoscience), which is why i won't be listing Every issue i've had because i want to assume he's grown and changed since then, at least with those things. anyways

has a weird tendency of equating video games to real-life murders. the first time i can remember him doing it was with the first ever fnaf theory, where he said it was about the actual murder of chuck-e-cheese employees and that you played as the murderer rotting in hell. which is. weird enough. but that was 2014, nearly 10 years ago, shit happens. however. that was the only time he's done this. it happened again in 2017-2019 with petscop, equating the game to the murder of a 10 year old girl. and, to his full defense, the creator of petscop ALLEGEDLY said that he did start basing his game off of that case, but that he severely regrets it and regards it as an extremely stupid decision. that doesn't make matpat's actions any less weird, because if you realize a game is Actually tied to the killing of a real-life child, just. don't fucking comment on it. it's weird and even the creator regrets his decision to do so.

on a theory about what i think was a alleged fnaf arg, he asked for his followers to help him "discover more clues" by asking them to physically call/visit locations in the real world he believed were connected to this so-called arg. (from my knowledge, this arg doesn't exist btw.) at NO point during the writing, producing, recording, editing, etc of the video did he manage to connect the dots that, hey, doxxing real-life locations for my fans to swarm to is a Bad Fucking Idea, meanwhile every other major fnaf community rushed to shut it down the SECOND his video came out, with large reddit, twitter, etc accounts imploring for fans not to listen to him, and that similar incidents have happened in the past and led to nothing (to the point where scott cawthon himself has had to step in and tell people to knock it off). i can't remember exactly how long it took for him to take it down/call off the masses, but the fact that it even got published in the first place is honestly just inexcusable, both for him and for his team (this was june of last year)

he blamed etika's suicide on cancel culture and has never apologized. the tweet is still up, for some insane fucking reason, although multiple people both close to matpat and close to etika corrected him on completely erasing the issue of mental health (this was 2019)

and lastly, while i've heard rumors of him stealing theories for years now, the only first-hand i've seen was his hermitcraft theory. the original creator of the theory can be found here [link], alongside all his theories, evidence of theft, etc. she has never been properly credited for this, and those who tried to comment on the video to properly do so had their comments instantly deleted. (this was late 2021)

i had this dream last night where matpat game theory released another fnaf video, but it wasn't a traditional game theory video, it was a discussion video. but the thing was, he didn't make it a proper game theory video because he thought about something that blew all of the lore wide open, and he didn't want to make it an official video because he knew people wouldn't like what he had to say. so he sat down, (and i was there, of course, because we were besties) and he said "the answer has been right in front of us all along and we didn't realise it. scott [cawthon] said to look for clues in ALL fnaf properties. and there's one property we haven't looked at yet," and he stopped dramatically and said "voltron."

now, to awake dustee this is ridiculous because voltron is very much NOT a fnaf property, but IN MY DREAM it was. and in this dream, voltron was set AFTER what happened in the fnaf security breach dlc ruin and the clue was Cassie from ruin was ACTUALLY Pidge from Voltron when she was younger and somehow? this answered ALL the questions. like...all of them. and everyone who heard him say voltron was fnaf was skeptical at first but when he said that Cassie was actually Pidge Holt they were immediately on board. i dont know where i'm going with this, just that i've consumed way too much fnaf and voltron content over the years and i think i need to reevaluate my entire existence

Reminder 2014-2018, and ongoing

He started making games for his kids. Whom were teens and younger at the time.

Even after getting snarky comment about his characters being creepy, went on to create FNaF. He still made these games with his family in mind.

Scott always been vocal about his family and friends. Supportive, loving, being an actual good father and husband to his wife.

Scott is possibly a baseball fan. There is a Mike Schmidt baseball player, and a jazz/blues fan. There is a singer named DeeDee. This is a guy that grew up in the 80s. A lot of his inspiration is heavily influence in both books and games. Including now movies.

His donations totalling over $1,250,000 towards cancer & other charities. He would often go on twitch, YT and other places where people he met online, hired or heard the news of. Giving them a ton of money in support. $10,000 or MORE!

Remember Freddy in Space 2? Scott met a fan named Skylar Ginn. A kid with cancer, loved FNaF and knew who Shadow Springtrap was. He was taken from his family and friends way too soon.. Playing the game, in the credits. Scott had it down that this game was made for Skylar.

2018, Scott expressed that he planned on getting THREE MOVIES done. He got the money to make all three happen. First one in 2023 is a huge success, he even disguised himself to watch it in person with several other crowds of fans. Calling a Chica cosplayer, a superfan. Currently a second movie is in the works. So quick, after the success of the first one.

As Matthew Lillard stated, the movies are a love letter to us fans. Scott is doing this mostly for his family, and for us.

Scott cares. When the fandom gathered enough evidence to get a pedophile kicked out of the fandom, LadyFiszi. Scott made a reddit post on the topic, saying that LadyFiszi is no longer working for him. There is no place for pedos in FNaF.

Let's hope PinkyPills is next 👀 She tried to defend a pedophile, and moment she made that post in LadyFiszi's honor, she deleted it in seconds. Seeing Scott obviously doesn't agree with pedohiles.

Pinky herself is a known tracer, doesn't have an original artist bone in herself. Not a single one. Harasses people on DA and several other places, picking fights first. She, like few others who got zero creativity, made her William Afton fat and a pedophile, in poor attempt to be fatphobic and make disgusting cheap drama.

(You can have a villian that kills kids, and not make him a pedo for sake of quick attention. Just a fyi. And he can be fat. He was canonily fat as stated in the books. Don't do it to have an excuse to be fatphobic like PinkyPills.)

After the success of kicking out LadyFiszi, the fandom saw another problematic one, Phisnom. On August 2, 2023, Phisnom was fired by Scott Cawthon, due to controversies involving death threats and gore videos.

Scott has always been transparent, uplifting, and does the things he does with good intentions. Does this mean he thinks these things through? No. Not all of the time. He tried to do NFT once, not knowing what it was. Some idiot came up to Scott, thinking he was an easy target to leech off. The fans came rushing in, telling Scott what NFTs actually are and Scott listened. He backed off, rejected NFTs due to that.

in light of all this talk about the FNAF movie I just wanted to say fuck Scott Cawthon and I wish I could have found a way to pirate the movie but I couldn’t find anything and my parents insisted on us going to see it so I couldn’t even like- opt out

for those out of the know, Scott has been caught donating to violently right-wing legislators and just generally putting his money in nasty spots.

I’ve heard some people say he wasn’t making any money off the film but I haven’t had any confirmation on that and I highly doubt it.

Naw, I didn't engage with FNAF at all past the first three games, and then when it got revealed that Scott Cawthon donated all that money to a buncha Republican politicians, I lost all interest in anything FNAF beyond what I originally found interesting about it. I'll appreciate those first experiences for what they were, back in 2014. Scott knew how to make something look scary, and I like to learn from wherever and whatever. Dissecting what about the first game made it so unnerving has taught me some valuable lessons about horror. I just don't see value in Scott as a person. He's harmful to people like me.

Plus, I'unno, I heard through other people what the lore of that series is now, and, eh. They overcomplicated it, I think. By explaining every little thing, that Unknown is gone, and so is the horror that came with that unknowingness. Why explain the origin of a ghost? Is it not enough that it's there? The implications and what they do to our imaginations was so much worse than what they revealed.

Even if they did keep the heart and soul of the original trilogy, though, Scott's not getting a cent from me, lol.

In FNaF VR Help Wanted, there’s a parts and service level for Freddy. In the game, you are supposed to take out his music box to fix him and then place it back in. However, in the process of placing the music box back in, you drop the music box. This causes Freddy to go into attack mode. In attack mode, Freddy’s eyes glow red, as show in the pictures below. (Pictures found on Google, not mine)

Granted, these red eyes aren’t the same as in the movie, but that’s because the movie is a movie. It is a LIVE ACTION filmed movie, meaning the movie is filmed in real life and not generated by computers, unlike the game’s 3D animation and models. There are going to be inconsistencies between real life and the games, because video games are different from reality.

Besides, Scott Cawthon, himself, is working on this movie. FNaF is his creation, so he wouldn’t add anything he didn’t see fit into this movie. If he didn’t see the red eyes as fit, he wouldn’t add them, and would’ve asked Jim Henson Creature Shop (the creators of the animatronics for the film) to change them.

So stop saying that the animatronics look weird, or that the designs are on the same level (or worse) than the original Sonic design for the Sonic movie. That was different. The Sonic design was objectively terrible, and needed to be changed. Do you really think that these two images are comparable? (Pictures found on Google, not mine)

If you all bully Blumhouse and Scott into changing them and get this movie delayed again, I am going to lose my shit. I haven’t even been in this fandom for that long. I only just joined near the start of the pandemic of 2020, and even then I joined through the FNaF Gacha community and barely knew any accurate lore that wasn’t added by the FNaF Gacha community. I’ve only been in this community for about 3 years. When I joined, the most recent major release was FNaF VR. I know a lot of other people in the fandom have been waiting for this movie for longer than I have, but I swear if you all get this movie delayed, I am going to be really angry.

William made Springtrap to be somewhat inspired by himself, He had bad intentions but never acted on them. So more like an intrusive thought 24/7 kind of thing, but how William actually got there was through a dream, a kind of vision if you will, the animatronics stuck in the game with their pain and anger, were getting RESTLESS. But the one that truly brought him through to the dimension of the game was Cassidy. She had been the one to suffer the most being the first victim, they had taken years in the backstory to adapt to life stuck inside. She struggled to move. Struggled to breath, and was stuck for a very long time, so out of pure anger and spite of her creator keeping them trapped like this she thought of a way that they could make William understand her suffering. SOMEHOW, Cassidy managed to make a way through worlds, a portal of some kind (giving me Minecraft portal vibes 😭) (Cassidy had coded the portal herself (I like to imagine she really didn’t know what she was doing but after like hours and hours of work she FINALLY got it) Cassidy taunted William in the dream/vision he backed up. Cassidy knows that she can’t hurt him from his dimension, but if she could bring him to hers, she could. And She PUSHES William through, he stumbles back and falls through (wow, what a nice dream) and then, he woke up, relieved it was “just a nightmare”, but everything seemed way more colourful and well, not like earth at all! He was then stuck in the game, and the only way to get back was through the portal. (Cassidy had more likely gone through and arrived back to where she started, literally having NO IDEA where William was, and thats when she started searching.)

The Scott Situation Retrospective / Rant

I think the Scott Cawthon situation that happened was an example of people repeating the same stuff over and over again. That he didn’t deserve to be harassed. Which no one was advocating for. I and many others merely criticised his choices. Some harassed his family. There’s a difference. A massive difference. People online conflate criticism with wishing ill on others, which is madness. There are four main camps of belief on the Scott Cawthon situation, I call it Scott temperaments: critical-civil, critical-harasser, supportive-civil, supportive-harasser. Critical-civil people are those who don’t agree with his donations but do not harass anyone about it, critical-harassers are those that did harass his family about it. Supportive-civil are Scott defenders who don’t harass those who don’t support his decisions, and supportive-harasser are the incredibly annoying ones who do. To give a personal example…

I got tagged in a mass apology back in the day, but I am not sorry, and never will be sorry, for saying simply that I didn’t agree with him donating to politicians that want to restrict the most basic of human rights. Being a victim of harassment does not mean you are immune to criticism. I was in the critical-civil camp, and I am not going to apologise considering the following facts everyone ignores. These are not opinions I hold, these are facts. Scott donated over ~$20,000 to politicians. These politicians I have looked over hold these opinions: (excluding trump because well… we all know his opinions…)

A defence I have heard is that Scott donated to a democrat (one I think he used himself as a defence) and a black man. That ‘democrat’ in question was hardly progressive, and is now independent. Even then, she’s always been flip-floppy with her opinions on abortion & queer issues. And that black man in question compared abortion to slavery, denies climate change, denies evolution, compared Obamacare to slavery, and called refugees ‘rabid dogs’. And made a slippery slope argument for homosexuality. He’s a walking contradiction. Neither of these are good examples of ‘progressive’ politicians. Now, let me be clear. It’s obvious what positions Scott holds. He has been open in his Reddit post.

Oh, *sigh* I forgot. Another ‘hey I also donated to THIS black politician’. I don’t know enough about this person because I’m not an American and there’s hardly any information about her online, so fine, Scott gets this one. Fallacies aside…

His sentiment that Trump would have dealt with ‘America’s Enemies’ is the biggest nationalist dogwhistle I have ever heard. I hardly consider it a dog whistle. As for Trump’s economic policies… ehhh, as someone who has had to live in the “country” with the most b$ economy ever, I won’t really criticise it here… moving on.

I’m confused on how exactly he believes that other politicians would have worse perspectives on queer issues. I mean, again… look at the statistics I provided. 4 were staunchly against queer people.

Ah, the infamous line. He’s a Republican. He’s a Christian. He’s pro-life. He believes in God. He believes in equality and… science? Guess the 4 climate change denial thing I put up earlier is kind of ironic now. The people he voted for sure didn’t believe in science.

I just… the counter arguments for this are so silly. It doesn’t matter what Scott believes on a personal level. It doesn’t matter that he donated to the Trevor Project. It really doesn’t. If you slap an old man across the face but save a woman’s child from a car coming their way, that doesn’t mean slapping the old man was okay, you know?

The amount of YouTubers who upon hearing Scott’s retirement tried to play off his actions and celebrate him is disgusting. Scott donating to LGBTQ+ charities does not exonerate him of his actions. If Jack The Ripper donated to a woman’s rights group, would that suddenly make him a good person? (I am being hyperbolic. It’s called a joke. I know Jack The Ripper is worse that Scott by a long comparison. Don’t even start.)

To use a less example, would a politician who voted for LGBTQ+ rights be free from criticism even if they no longer support it? Not thinking of anyone specifically relevant here (lie). Most people would say the damage is still done.

And yes, it’s his money and he can do what he wants, that doesn’t mean that it’s okay. He didn’t just donate a few dollars to these people, he donated thousands that would go towards their campaigns of vitriol and hate. No one is immune from criticism. No one.

This situation is old but still annoys me. Let me make this clear. Scott’s family didn’t deserve to be harassed. No one is saying they did, and I am not. You cannot say that the only thing that happened was harassment. You can’t justify someone’s actions just because they’re a victim. Why were people so salty back in 2021 about people choosing to NOT support someone? Scott isn’t going to lose money because someone didn’t buy something from him. And frankly? No one is owed like… people buying your stuff. Even if everyone of his fans stopped supporting him, it’s not like… anyone’s job to give him money. He’s a (retired) game developer. It’s not like he’s a Tesco employee where he’s owed a weekly salary. I don’t get the weird guilt tripping if ‘oh so you’re going to cancel and ruin someone’s career over opinions’ like my brother in Christ he RETIRED. And how was he ‘cancelled’ when he has thousands of supporters and his games are still doing well? The man has a lot of money to last his life. How come it’s about ‘personal choice and opinions’ when it comes to Scott voting for vile politicians, but you voice an opinion against Scott, that’s suddenly heresy? He can hold whatever beliefs he wants, and he can be criticised. If he has the freedom of speech and expression to vote and believe what he wants, so do I and others have to criticise it. This is just a quick rant post, and I do not have time for people who will argue in bad faith.

Is Scott a terrible person individually? Maybe. We don’t know him. Considering he does donate to charities, even if it doesn’t absolve him of his responsibility, still is an indicator he’s probably not a terrible person. Are the actions he has taken detrimental to queer people, women and minorities? Yes. Absolutely. At the very least, Scott isn’t as bad as someone like JKR, who actively uses her platform to promote her bigotry. Overall, I believe Scott deserved and still deserves criticism for his donations in the same way your homophobic uncle does. Not quite a massive deal, but still kinda an issue. Did his family deserve to be harassed? No, obviously not. Not only were they completely uninvolved, but harassing someone just makes them able to form a blanket statement that all critics are ‘cancellation’ and that every argument is in bad faith. This is what happened. Because of the spineless few who harassed Scott’s pregnant wife and kids, as well as him, him and his supporters were able to make this a very open and shut case of him ‘doing nothing wrong’. It’s a tricky situation. Still, Scott retired ages ago when this all happened. So it’s not really as big of a deal as if he actively used his platform to promote these harmful ideas. It’s just kinda a shitty situation all around looking back on it. There was no room for civil discussion, the Reddit thread on his post had to be locked by moderators… yikes… 2021 was a pretty boring year for me, but that sure was a massive event in FNAF history.

Scott is a person. He’s not perfect nor above criticism. And you don’t know him as a person. If I claimed he was an evil mastermind all along that would equally be as weird. He just has some shitty positions. I wish people wouldn’t worship him or attack his family. There’s a middle ground.

Edit: Hello. It’s been over a year since I posted this, I think. I just want to say that in a server I was in a long time ago, someone once remarked that they “thought the drama was stupid.” I.. it saddens me to hear people chalk this up to drama. It is not drama to endorse policies that can harm the lives of minorities, regardless of whether you are one or not. It’s actually a very serious topic. No ill will to anyone who has said this, and trust me, I’ve heard many people say this, but it’s very insensitive to chalk such a serious matter up to ‘drama’ when real lives are at stake. That’s all.

whats the fnaf thing all about? i only play pokeyman and mineycrafta like a fucking child

Uuugh it's too much to explain anon 💀 if there a NINE HOURS lore video about it, that's for a reason...

But to put it simply, it started off as a dumb jumpscare bear game > Markiplier makes a viral playthrough > became one of the most successful indie game serie of the last few years. It created a whole new horror genre : Mascot Horror, and a bunch of copycats have been consistently trying to ride that way (with more or less success) : Garden of Bangtan, Poppy Playtime, Bendy and the ink machine Choo Choo Charles come to mind.

What's important to not is that FNAF wasn't supposed to have a sequel, so Scott Cawthon (its creator) creator the lore as the games went by. It's surprisingly pretty consistent (although it got retconed 2 times lol - notably in FNAF 4 which momentarily established the previous games as a dream 😅)

Scott got cancelled a few years ago after being exposed as a registered Republican. Fans (mostly left aligned zoomer) started putting parallels between the game main storyline of child sacrifice and abortion criticism (which is super based idc lol). This prompted Scott to not being directly involved in the game development but still managed their overall direction as some sort of "conductor". However he's the co author of the books....which are now part of the lore (which confused many fans bc they originally weren't).

And it's without counting the fangames (that aren't developed by Scott's team)...but that still get Scott's approval (I heard that Scott created some sort of incubator to fund teams creating those fangames) and contain lore (example: Five nights at Candy's). So FNAF lore is now spread between to "official" games, the books, the fangames.

That's why the suspicion regarding Scott's personal beliefs extend to books. Such as the B-7 book story (cowrote by Scott), where a boy mutilates himself (to become an animatronic) only to realize once as an adult and after trying to unalive himself- that it was pointless and ultimately decide to accept himself as a (hu)man👀. Many have seen an anti trans narrative and I can't blame them 👀

There are so many other things to be said abt the whole remnant/soul ties thing (that makes the animatronic come too life) but I don't want to be too long.

As goofy as it may look, FNAF tackles extremely dark things but for unlike 99% mainstream media, it doesn't glorifies or donwplay it. The moral sensibility of that gaming license is STRONG. William Afton is an AWFUL person - a CHILD MURDERER. He's not displayed as anything but that. In one fangame you literally play him in "hell" where you have to fight against all the animatronics/children he killed.

I can't help but see a message of the perversion of childhood in it. The animatronics attack you the way the human spirit of the child possessing them died : chica does it screaming because the child screamed, Foxy runs super fast bc the child died while trying to escape, Puppets is crying because the child died a slow death crying...

Just finished it and that's the far the best FNAF lore video I've seen. It's Extremely detailed though so it's definitely longer than other FNAF lore video (that also may not take into account the latest books/fangame for example )

oh im SO glad you asked short answer is that a man named jack kennedy teams up with dave miller/william afton to kill children and then hijinks ensue and jack ends up killing him after he finds out dave killed his sister back in the 1970s(?), OR dave kills children and jack helps the children's souls move on to the afterlife (and also he kills dave) there is, however, a much longer and more detailed explanation under the cut :-) (it's VERY long it's literally an entire timeline map of dsaf)

>he comes back and they go into a portal to the third floor which is designed around 80s-90s fazbenders locations. on the third floor we meet steven who’s just been there the entire time, and he INSTANTLY assumes they're there to kill him and makes them battle robots until they find him huddled in a corner. he rambles about how he’s unsaveable and they should just leave him and jack has to pull him from his spiral to tell him he’s still worth saving even if he was a bit of a dick to everyone

>dave makes another portal and they head down to the last level of the flipside and jack and dee remark about it being peters house and how weird that is because only jack and dee would remember that place >they wander around for a while before finding peter sitting in a room, to which he remarks about being a trap and this confuses everyone

>jack’s soul appears in the form of “blackjack”, who is taking the form of jack’s dead dog sparky. blackjack is enraged that jack even exists, believing himself to be “the real jack kennedy” to which they argue and blackjack mentions how he has henry sitting in a void for all eternity as torment, this INFURIATES everyone to which they all collectively go “?? dude no we need to Kill Him.” and blackjack is pissed about it but he decides that “ok fine they can kill henry” so long as he gets to join them >they fight henry and during it he takes down everyone by nitpicking their deepest insecurities, besides jack who then revives them all and they kill that bastard

>everyone leaves except for dave and jack and it’s revealed that since jack doesn’t have a soul inside him he cannot go with, so instead he gives blackjack off to dave so that he won’t be alone

Disclaimer: This story does not follow Scott Cawthon's FNAF games or books. However many of the characters and events are the same or have been adapted. These characters do not belong to me, but the rearrangement of events and character adaptations are my own works.

I hid in my room for the next couple of hours, hoping to stay unnoticed by my family...and William. Sitting on my fuzzy purple beanbag at my wooden desk, I tried to bury myself in a piece of artwork I was finishing. Drawing and painting had become my way of "coping" and it turns out, I'm not too bad at it. I'd even started doing commissions, starting with illustrating children's books and more recently doing posters and murals for businesses.

Despite my numerous complaints, when I turned sixteen, mom told me it was time to get a job. So I interviewed and started my brand new job waitressing at Applebee's. I lasted two months before my manager got sick of my "hopeless negativism". Whatever that means. I didn't really care though, I hated being around all those people who despise me and I told mom so. If I'm being honest, I was too hard on mom last year. She deserves better than me. Tired of fighting with me, frustrated at Michael's poor grades at the time, and exhausted from working three jobs, she gave up. Told me to stay home and be lazy if that's what I wanted. I felt good about winning that battle for about twenty-four hours, that's when the guilt really set in. After apologizing to my mother and with the help of a friend, I began to submit my artwork to publishing companies and after just two weeks, got hired to illustrate a children's book called Bigfoot Loves Pizza. Goofy, I know, but it was a moneymaker and it made mom happy. I was also offered a job as part time waitress and full time graphic designer at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza 2.0. This was shocking to my entire family since the restaurant was owned by...Charlie's dad. And Charlie's dad shouldn't want anything to do with me.

My sweet solitude, sadly, didn't last long enough. A soft knock echoed from my door and I saw Michael slowly peek around it.

"Hi, Lizzie," He walked into my room, dragging his feet. "Mom says it's time for supper."

I inwardly groaned. Mom had been planning 'our first family dinner in nine years' all week. She even dragged me into mashing the potatoes for one of William's old favorites. Cottage Pie. I personally don't like the stuff, less because William likes it and more because I'm not a fan of ground meat. It looks too much like cat food for my taste.

"Tell her I'm busy." I went back to my drawing. It was a large, purple robotic rabbit with a red bow tie and electric guitar. Bonnie the bunny was an animatronic that William made for his first restaurant, Fredbear's Family Diner before I was born. Except now he was one of the main mascots for the restaurant I worked for and I was drawing Bonnie with large, red, star-shaped sunglasses, playing the electric guitar, and surfing a gnarly wave on a red and purple surfboard. Behind Bonnie were the emboldened words

"That's cool." Michael stared over my shoulder. "Is Bonnie your favorite?"

"Yeah, I like Bonnie okay." Bonnie had been Charlie's favorite. I focused on some dark shadowing under Bonnie's sunglasses. Suddenly, I heard a crash behind me and nearly jumped out of my seat. Whipping around, I saw Michael trying to pick up my violin case and music stand he had knocked over.

"Okay, buddy," I helped him put everything back into place. "Maybe we should go down to dinner."

Michael grinned and dashed out of my room, sprinting down the stairs in front of me. As I followed him my thoughts stayed with my violin. Music had become my other way of dealing with my emotions. Music was something I could get lost in, let every single drop of hate, anger, and shame pour out into a song before they can stream down my face. Art is more about control. It's the precise bits of emotion that are patiently and deliberately depicted on a page.

My mother sat at her usual spot on the left side of our large, oaken kitchen table, beaming over the steaming casserole dish in the center. At the head of the table, sporting a barely noticeable smile, only detectable by the slight dimples forming in his cheeks, was William. Michael had taken his spot next to mother and I wanted to kick myself when I realized my normal seat was right beside William. I slunk over and sat down, making sure to scoot my chair a good twelve more inches away from him. I pretended not to hear the sigh I got from my mother and ignored the conversation between her and William about how she hoped he would like dinner, and how he was sure he would and oh how delicious it looked. Michael mentioned how I helped make it and I gave myself a headache trying not to roll my eyes. 

Throughout the rest of dinner I tried to soothe my headache by drinking several large glasses of iced tea and water, and basically ignored everything that came out of William's mouth. He acted nice...too nice. He asked mom about how the house was holding up, if there was anything he could fix, how Michael liked school, how his summer break was going, and what he'd been up to lately. I had just finished my food and was looking for a chance to escape, when William turned to me. 

"How was your school year, Elizabeth?"  

My gaze cut sharply to him, startled. His eyes were shifting, flowing in waves of blue softness and aquamarine steel. 

I shrugged, "I don't go to school."

"Why doesn't she go to school?" William's face bore a hilarious appalled look. 

"Elizabeth is homeschooled," My mother cut in, "and she does mostly college classes online." 

"Because I don't want to spend my time around imbeciles." I mumble, earning a glare from my mother. 

"We just didn't see it as the best option at the moment." Mom gave me a 'don't you dare say another word look'. 

"But Michael goes to school?" William was obviously confused.

My mother was fumbling for words. "Michael does better...socially than Elizabeth. It's just easier for him to...be around so many people."

"You got that right." I mumbled again. 

"Elizabeth Annette," My mother's face threatened corporal punishment if I opened my mouth one more time.  

I bit the inside of my cheek, lifted my chin in defiance, and dared to speak anyway. "Well it's not like it's my fault I can't go to school. In fact maybe I should go to school like Michael!" 

My voice was mockingly cheery and I hoped William caught every hint of sarcasm.

"I'm sure being the daughter of a child murderer will make me immensely popular in school. Who knows maybe I'll even be the homecoming queen and for my speech I can tell the story of how my father stabbed my best friend in her sleep! Wouldn't that be lovely!" 

My voice tipped into a British accent  when I said lovely and I knew my degradation of William had gone too far. My mother's face was a mixture of shock and rage, her fingers gripped hard onto the table, turning whiter than I thought possible. Michael cowered beside her looking as if he was about to cry, and William...WAS SMILING AT ME?!? His pearly white teeth flashed at me, although the grin did not meet his eyes and I could see the indention where his teeth were pulling at the inside of his cheek. 

"Yes, I can see why you wouldn't want to go to school, Elizabeth." He stood slowly, purposefully, but i caught the slight quiver in his hands. "Now if you'll all excuse me I believe I need to go out for a quick fag." 

Mother stood and retrieved the cigarettes and lighter I didn't know William had from the kitchen counter. He had never smoked when I was a child. 

"Thank you dear. Dinner was lovely..err...delicious." He walked out the front door without another word and through the window I saw a small flame glowing. 

I almost sighed in relief until I saw my mother glaring at me. 

"Young lady," If looks could kill I'm sure she would've burned a hole through my head. "We need to have a talk."

With a strength I didn't know she had, being several inches shorter and leaner than I, my mother held my wrist with a pressure that I was sure would leave indentations on my very bones, and towed me to her room. I was in trouble now.
