been thinking about how ambrosius is largely shown commanding and acting as a leader to the knights for most of the movie, especially in the movie's climax. I also keep thinking about how he graduated at the same time as bal, and the time jump between then and the rest of the plot can't be longer than a few months.
all this to say that chances are, ambrosius was immediately forced into a position of leadership on account of his lineage, which puts his internal rant to the director in a whole new light

I've seen a few pieces of fan art of Shadow Draculaura where she's given a teardrop tattoo on her cheek, but in the movie it looks more like a diamond. Which makes me wonder if the artists know the meaning behind teardrop tattoos.

I haven't seen anyone talk about it in detail if at all, so I'll just throw this out there: Is it just me, or are Ashley's feelings for Andrew very not romantic?
Just to be very clear-- this isn't me trying to sanitize the incest present in their relationship or twist it into pure unproblematic platonicness despite everything in the game being a hellish, dystopiant, grotesque, unapologetic mess (in a good way), just an observation that's been on my mind for a while.
We know Andrew is absolutely, 100% romantically attracted to his sister especially through both his inner monologues, relationship with Julia and of course, The Scene. But I never really got that same attraction from Ashley. She loves to degree where it can't be considered platonic, but there's a blunt edge to her affection I wouldn't call romantic either.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's obviously been obsessed with him from a young age as he's the only person she had to cling to without worrying that he'd leave her. She doesn't treat him like a person, she treats him like a coveted toy that only she can play with. Between borderline neglegent parents, untreated apathy issues, a major abandonment complex and a parentified brother/psuedo-dad, unhealthy attachments and toxic tendencies can go real bad real quick. Go figure. It's possessive, referring to her brother as hers and something that's considered stolen the moment someone else has an interest in it, but it feels a lot more "innocent" than Andrew's possessiveness of her. Andrew is hers to have because he's her brother, just like how a plaything would be hers because it was bought for her-- there doesn't seem to be anything more to it than that.
I think the best example of that is their reaction to the Vision in the Burrial route:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike Andrew, who is disturbingly flustered rather than reasonably revolted, she just... doesn't have a reaction to it. They've already trapped themselves in a box with each other and commited some of the worst atrocities imaginable, so she just chalks it up to another thing to add to their crimes list. Her causual playfulness and indifference to the situation is such a strong contrast to Andrew's desperate denial and really shows her feelings about the whole thing. Or lack of, as she isn't at all fazed about it. You'd think that she'd be thrilled, or excited or equally as flustered as Andrew at the thought of their relationship taking the next big step, but there isn't any of that here. Despite her jealousy, obsession, possessiveness and extreme closeness, it doesn't seem that there was ever any romantic intent involved on her end (or at least none that she knows of). Heck, she even voices her confusion when Andrew confesses he read her actions that way:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is something funny about going through the story thinking ''ok i get it she's the obsessed yandere sister with a brother complex i see you game'' only to be hit with the revelation that it's the complete opposite way around. Basically just Ashley hitting both Andrew AND the players with the "wait you really saw me like that what did i even do to make you think that??" at the very end and it is baffling. The fact that she seems genuinely oblivious to how she comes off is both a little cute and unexpectedly innocent, but also cements just how little she grew up from when she was a kid.
But I think this line from her really encapsulates their relationship perfectly:
Tumblr media
One way to keep him around. She won't sleep with him because of some repressed sexual tension or genuine (messed up) affection, but because she views it as transactional. She loves Andy, that version of her brother who went along with whatever she wanted and cared about her despite all her issues when no one else did. She always acts uncaring towards other people, but it's so obvious that she's lonely. That the people she cares about not caring about her has an effect on her. We see it with their mom, the way she continued to call her despite the abuse and neglect she put her through and immediately assumes she wouldn't have wanted them to find her because she feels that unwanted. We see it with her ''friends'', the way she felt so betrayed by how they basically left her for dead in that apartment without bothering to try throwing some food up their balcony. She didn't even care if they would've succeeded or not-- she just wanted someone to try. She clings so viciously to her brother because he's all she has left. She's been labelled unlovable by everyone else in her life, and the moment he leaves her for someone more stable, she's alone for good. Andy needed her the same way she needed him, but now he's gone, and Andrew is more unpredictable than ever. His nightmares have gotten better, so he doesn't need her to sleep easier at night (not that he did in the first place). He's better at having a social life too, so surrounding himself with others and getting his life together shouldn't be too hard. He doesn't need her the way she needs him anymore, but she knows that Andrew wants her, so she'll give herself to him before anyone else can if it means that he'll stay. Which, by the way, is such a good parallel to her mom's own mindset when it comes to relationships (like mother like daughter ammirite). It's so far from love; it's just blatant codependancy she doesn't acknowledge on her end, something we see Andrew both enable and take advantage of whether he realises or not. And I think that's a more nuanced, fascinating trait of her character rather than just the ''yandere sister in love with her brother'' trope.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading this messy, hopefully coherent analysis of our gravecest couple, mostly focused on Ashley. And who knows, maybe she IS in love with Andrew and I completely misinterpreted her feelings for him, but until proven otherwise I'll keep clinging to this theory. This GAME THE-- [GUNSHOTS].

Entry #7 : Vox and Blackouts, Connection, etc.
A/N / Disclaimer : Fanfic is fanfic, and people are allowed to make things as OOC or just in their own image as possible, so I'm not shitting on that at all. Everyone has the right to make whatever tf they want and explore concepts and stuff.
This is just me vomiting ideas that have been plaguing me for a while.
If I'm proven wrong by the show, then I'll eat my hat and apologise for this one, but for now I'm trying to think about this stuff like - as logically in the frame of what's canon as possible.
It's funny to say that when this is the topic but yeah haha 💀
Ah yes, theorising about the goddamn TV Man again.
Cw: SFW to NSFW/18+ (below cut)
Tumblr media
- So, let's establish some things before I begin to truly dig into this haha.
- Vox is not wireless, and thus does not get effected by things that are not directly connected to him. This is seen with him directly plugging into his set-up before being able to control all the TV's and devices connected to the main-frame.
- This would most likely mean that when the whole system goes down, he isn't affected by it and vice versa if he's not directly plugged into it. So yeah- if he blue screens or glitches out like he does just casually while not plugged in, then the whole city most likely would not blackout.
- An anon asked me about whether he would just go offline if the WiFi was down or if he would be just fine and yeah - he'd be just fine if he wasn't plugged in. If he was, however, then he'd most likely lose reception. He'd probably blackout/shut down.
- For an example: if he's plugged in and it's storming outside and lightning hits the main tower, then he'd probably be pretty injured because his system would be fine. But if he wasn't plugged in he'd be absolutely fine.
- I also could see his face dropping to low resolution and voice doing the blocky-glitchy thing audio over calls does if he's plugged into the system and the reception goes to absolute shit.
- Think 180p quality display and audio Vox lmao.
(Here's the other post as well)
- Having said all that, I also don't think that there wouldn't be any effect at all on surrounding technology if he starts glitching out.
- If he's near things like phones, laptops, lights, etc. Etc. He'd likely effect them, but on a way smaller scale then what most people seem to write about.
I'm gonna start going into directly NSFW below the cut
- So yeah, if you're just casually fucking Vox really hard and he starts glitching or goes to the point of bluescreening while coming, the whole of Pentagram city isn't going to experience a blackout because he's not plugged into the system.
- However
- He would most likely start effecting the direct surrounding technology.
- Think lights blinking on and off or getting brighter and then dimmer to the pace you're screwing him at. Think surrounding devices turning on and off.
- Think light bulbs and phones and clocks in the room - anything electrical or running on batteries - exploding into shattered bulbs, being destroyed, getting fried, etc. When he comes.
- Bro basically starts doing what ghosts/poltergeists start doing to mess with people lmao.
- The trope of him causing whole city-wide blackouts when hes fucked so hard is funny as hell in theory, but going off of canon that wouldn't happen that way.
- And maybe you're saying 'okay - but what if Vox is plugged into the system' That would also not happen.
- Yes, if you did screw him into bluescreening while he's hooked up to everything then yes it would most likely happen.
- but, it goes against literally everything we know about Vox to have that ever happen.
- He is all about appearances and looking perfect 365 days 24/7 to the public.
- I keep seeing these fics where that happens and he's all embarrassed and cute about it, but if that ever happened with what we know about canon Vox he'd be mortified and fucking pissed as all hell around it.
- I feel like if you're in a relationship with Vox, the first thing he'd make abundantly clear is how important his image is to him.
- So if reader was riling him up in his office while he's around all the machines and stuff or actually directly plugged in - he wouldn't be going 'no, stop it' as a kind of bratty thing, he'd be seriously telling you to stop.
- Like, to push him to causing a city-wide blackout by having sex would absolutely in my mind based on all we know about Vox; be violating his boundaries to one of the highest degrees there are.
- His public image is everything, and you would be let know that from day one. Hell, dude would probably jeaprodise/push your relationship to the side if it fucked up his image. Thats how important it is to him. The boundaries around doing something to fuck his image up would be set in stone from the second you enter his life.
- So doing that and causing that to happen wouldn't really be?? Like the cute fanfiction trope it is, he'd be rightfully angry as fuck that that's happened because it's what not to do 101 to not screw up his image.
- The 'blackout' you'd be able to cause and not have him absolutely hating you afterwards would be with your house, hotel room or wherever you're doing the do.
Tumblr media
I'm way too passionate about this, i know, but like I see it so frequently, and it just makes like absolutely no sense to me at all, haha. I liked it the first time i saw it but after actually thinking about it I just find myself raising my brows and cringing each time I see it in fanfics because it just feels inaccurate asf 😭

Sirius had very mixed feelings about Barty Crouch Jr’s execution. On one hand, he was insane, and tried to get Sirius’ godson murdered. But on the other hand, he was the last trace of Regulus left. He was the last one who knew Reg, and it was like the last remaining piece of Regulus had died.

The constant visual parallels between Lou Jitsu and Raph is especially heartbreaking when you remember that Lou was primarily valued only for his fighting prowess and was taken advantage of because of it. Raph then embodies the image of an ideal fighter with his big figure and inclination towards physical activities. If Raph wasn’t taken in by Splinter, no doubt he would’ve been used as Lou Jitsu’s prime successor and would be used in the same way he was

random but I see a lot of takes like "well if voldemort used to look like that no wonder Bellatrix fell in love with him!" and ok but... She met him as a 40 year old man when she was 15 if not barely 16 (if we're assuming she met him when he officially came back to england and applied for the post of DADA teacher one final time in 1967) and was not particularly good looking by then.
He'd made five horcruxes, Dumbledore could tell he'd done something awful to himself because his 'skin was waxy' and his eyes were 'bloody looking'. Bellatrix met him as this man and at some point in the time she spent with him - maybe as his student, maybe later as his death eater - she fell in love with him anyway.
We're talking about one of the most vain, conceited, good-looking witches to have ever lived, the eldest daughter of the Black family - a family known for looking down on others, for their infamy and their looks.
I think given this, she didn't fall for him because of just his appearance. I think his charm, his excellence with all magic - not just dark - his adventures, his teachings and the offer of freedom he likely gave her was exactly what made her fall in love with him.
Side bar: we also know he had many witches who followed him and were deeply devoted to his cause but yet he himself had a preference for keeping Bellatrix closest to him both militarily and personally (DH shows us a lot more of them, she's always beside him in casual settings and in battle she's at his left). Their appreciation of each other is likely mutual, though for his attraction to her I'd have to write a whole other post...

Cedric is not a supportive figure for Sofia because of his trauma, but because he made himself into what he would want Sofia to have that he never got. Having horrible parents does not make you the perfect parental figure, in fact it makes it even more difficult to break the cycle and take on the role of a parent because you have to acknowledge the bad habits you've developed from growing up so you don't hurt people the same way your parents hurt you, and that involves acknowledging all the pain you've endured as unfair as it was.
