damn are people on twt really gonna get mad at people for playing on the server rn?
is that where we're putting our energy?
like aypierre was one of the french ccs that spoke up, and he's playing today, and said that changes are being made, isn't that enough to trust?
like when was a boycott agreed on among ccs? never? okay yeah so whats the issue
People like to be angry about anything if it’s Twitter. Nothing will ever be enough and they would rather virtue signal then appreciate the changes made already. Such is the culture that is Twitter

i get that megan is missing is a "horror movie warning about talking to strangers online" but the SA was just disgusting and too much.
I defend anyone's right to make any weird disgusting art of their choosing. There can be all sorts of fucked up art, made for all sorts of reasons. That's one of the many functions of art, and a main function of horror, to work through disgusting gross feelings we may have in a space where it hurts no one. But Megan is Missing is one of those where I go "oh yeah this feels bad and not in a good way". There is a Good Bad feeling you can get when something is fucked up but cathartic. You want to take a shower but you're happy about it. Nothing cathartic in that film.

Anyways my last post about the topic chz im sleepy and wanna read dunmeshi is that i dont think you should find one language learning app you like and just stick to it. I think its good to use a variety of apps that offer different things so you dont fall behind in a particular area. i dont know if i believe theres one true best way to learn a language i think its good to try different techniques and find what works for you and even step out of your comfort zone with it

i think something to keep in mind about The USAmerican Internet etc. is that that concept only applies to the internet in English - while neither USAmericans nor English speakers are even close to the majority of the world's population, the majority of English-speakers(/readers) (particularly native ones) ARE USAmericans. i think to some extent you get the same phenomenon with other languages - my (Latvian) family speak Russian, and a lot of the Russian Internet assumes that the reader...... is Russian
so sorry for the late response to this ask. it was likely old when I saw it and then I thought about it for a couple days. I might also have forgotten exact details on what the original post said
I don't have any experience with non english internet; so I'm sure what you say is true. it makes sense that a lot of people make assumptions based on language spoken.
but since English is so broadly used globally, I think that to assume everyone is american makes less sense. iirc the original post didn't deny americans were the majority of users. the chief complaint was that being a majority meant that they had a blindspot to people who aren't in america, or viewed foreign countries with a very american lens.
to be clear I don't ascribe fault or blame on americans. but imho it would go a long way for more americans to treat the english speaking internet as a shared global community, like everyone else has to

W….what if one of the new grandkits is named Petalkit, after Hootpetal
bonus points if her suffix is something really dark, cause I think that would be funny
“What’s your name?”
“Petal—“
“Oh let me guess! Petalsong? Petalheart? Petalpool?”
“PetalBLOOD”

🔥CaptainFlash's way of writing the female cast is only following IS's already bad example.
Ehhhh hmmmm ahhhh so so
Like, maybe in some ways I can see that: canon Ede|gard genuinely is somewhat childish, she isn't really self-aware, she's very self-centered, which are traits Woobiegard certainly has in spades. Fem!Byleth is very noticeably "cuter" than Male!Byleth with her design being more immediately expressive than her male counterpart, which is very decidedly against the core concept of her character - in the same vein, Cap'n writes fem!Byleth as being far more expressive and emotive than Byleth is supposed to be. Things like that, yeah, the game can be at least somewhat at fault here.
But like. Ede|gard doesn't find herself ugly, or a monster, nor is she particularly domestic or fond of children - that's just Woobiegard. And Edelgard's harmful childishness, self-unawareness, and self-centeredness are part of what make her the villain that not just loses in all of the other routes, but is actively defeated by the player - here, it’s... never acknowledged as her being those things. And while fem!Byleth is in fact noticeably more expressive than her character ought to be, she's still not outright acting like a child, nor is she equated to one ever, and nor does she long to only ever be by Ede|gard's - or anyone's - side to find happiness - that's just Ficleth.
And on top of that, Ingrid doesn't violently assault every man that gets on her nerves, nor does she hate her father or was abused by her father, nor does she ever express guilt for rejecting Dorothea's creepy advances to the extent that it was "one of the worst mistakes she ever made," nor are her tomboyish preferences ever implied to be her being trans because women not liking women activities must make them men. Lysithea never expresses any interest in wanting to be seen as beautiful, or becoming a mother. Marianne never says she feels ugly. Rhea's feelings for Wilheim were never implied to have been the one thing saving her from being evil like the fic portrays.
So maybe the game has a few issues with its portrayal of women - sure, you can argue that. But a lot of how Cap'n generally portrays women is entirely his own invention, without much of it coming from the game. Maybe some aspects of Ede|gard and Byleth, but even they are very noticeably written far more... ugh here than they are in the game

REMINDER TO MINORS ONLINE- DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR AGES LIKE IT'S GOING OUT OF STYLE. PEOPLE CAN BE WEIRD. PEOPLE PROBABLY WILL BE WEIRD. STAY SAFE
this reminder brought to you by people in a mc server nonchalantly saying that they're younger than all of my brothers like it was nothing and the subsequent "aunt/uncle (gender neutral)" instincts that flared up and still haven't died down 2 days later because I'M LITERALLY OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK (BUT ONLY BY A FEW YEARS) AND THESE KIDS ARE A FRACTION OF MY AGE.

I had so much fun drawing Ranpo for my fanfiction, and he’s not even in it yet. But! A few details:
-Everyone in the AU has wings, because I love wings.
-Ranpo is a bluejay, which I picked because of vibes and because they’re super smart.
-I included tail feathers into the wing design as if it’s an actual part of the wing. I saw a few designs online like this when I was looking up references and decided to give it a shot.
Also I should mention a few of my markers bled, so Ranpo is a touch more tan than I intended—but I kinda like how it looks! Regardless, enjoy my latest hyperfixation.
And if you want a fanfic with rare pairs and me being overly dramatic about birds, here it is. There’s so much pointless lore and me putting way too much research into birds.

📱 : How full is your character’s Pokedex?
Tumblr media
When Sylvia first began her journey, she had a normal Pokedex like any other Pokemon Trainer. Since the first-ever digital Pokedex was created in the Kanto, Sylvia and her siblings were handed imports from that region, all save for Lucas, who was given a modified version handmade by Professor Rowan. Since Lucas aimed to be a Pokemon Professor--and potentially Professor Rowan's successor--he was given favorable treatment as well as special assignments to complete over the course of their adventure through Sinnoh (keep in mind, Sylvia began her journey at relatively the same time as Ash did).
Over time, Sylvia began using her Pokedex more and more, as she got more curious about Pokemon, and practically absorbed information about them like a sponge, to the point that her basic model Pokedex became almost obsolete halfway through her adventure through Sinnoh. She requested a version similar to Lucas's, which allowed for more functions, such as journaling, creating new entries, taking photos, and reading TMs. Using that, she was able to document information she learned by observing Pokemon in the wild, even without catching a vast majority of them.
Since Sylvia's Pokedex is an unusual model from that point forward, constantly getting updated and upgraded, she often ended up maxing out the data storage on it and sending it to her personal computer to filter through the personal and professional mess later. Though it's not "full" in the same way other Trainers' Pokedexes are, Sylvia's is by far one of the fullest Pokedexes in the entire Pokemon world simply because of how much she records on a daily basis. A lot of the time, she doesn't even feel like using her Pokedex, though, so roughly only half of what she learns is digitally saved, while the other half is scrawled into hundreds of notebooks stacked and collecting dust at home. Her bedroom in Sandgem Town may as well be a pastel library of personal information and Pokemon data collections.

If Harry at some point comes out, but to do so he has to deny Larry, what would you think? I personally would still believe it is/was a real relationship and the denial would be a tactic to be free and out without making Louis come out too
I do think one of them could come out without automatically outing the other. But yes, some kind of Larry denial (at the very least) would be necessary. So no, that wouldn’t immediately cause me to believe that it was never real or they’ve broken up. But Harry has always been noticeably reluctant to deny Larry, so I kind of don’t think he’d do that.

Nope! Any magic will do, however different forms of magical input will be better at producing different results. You would have a hard time forcing a fae to change physically through use of buddhist magic for example, being that buddhism puts most of its typical efforts towards enhancing what is within.
Something like diabolism, however...
Tumblr media
“Don’t worry, I have a plan if anyone ever finds it out!”
Oh yes, that’s another thing. Contacting a magical being’s true name creates a connection between the two, it can be used against the would-be soulbinder in rare cases of fast-acting, witty or manipulative outsiders.
