“And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their children and their wives.” —2 Chronicles 20:13 (AMPC)
“Sometimes You Just Stand” From the book “My Time with God” By Joyce Meyer:
“I especially like the verse for today and the fact that an entire nation stood still before God. You see, in God's economy, standing still in faith is action. It isn't physical action, of course; it is spiritual action. Often in our lives, we take action naturally and do little or nothing spiritually. But when we discipline ourselves to be still and wait on the Lord, we are engaging in powerful spiritual activity. Our willingness to be still says to the Lord, "I am going to wait on You until You do something about this situation. In the meantime, I am going to be peaceful and enjoy my life while I wait on You."
The people of Judah, who stood still before God, had every reason to try to do something— anything other than standing still. Faced with an overwhelming force descending on them and threatening to destroy their land and enslave them, they must have been tempted to revolt or at least defend themselves. But they didn't. They simply stood still, waiting on God and He miraculously delivered them. Waiting on God brings strength (see Isaiah 40:31). We may need the strength we gain while waiting in order to do what God will instruct us to do when He gives us direction. Those who wait on the Lord hear His voice, receive answers, get direction, and gain strength to obey what He speaks to them.
Prayer Starter: Father, help me to stand firm in faith, that in Your perfect timing, You will move my mountain, give me answers and direction, and the strength to obey You as you speak to my heart, Amen.”

Indecisiveness
Tumblr media
I recently finished a booked by Joyce Meyer called DO IT AFRAID. I've always loved Joyce Meyer's books but this hits different. For a person who has been dealing with anxiety, the book has reminded me of what God is capable of doing: getting us through our difficult season.
There's a part of the book that I particularly love, it was when she mentioned that being indecisive is a SIN. It hit so hard because, I am a very Indecisive person. I change my plans consistently, I won't push through unless I'm 100% sure that it will go perfectly as I planned. If I have a month to plan for it, I'll definitely maximize that month just to make sure that all goes well. This is because I'm afraid. I'm afraid to fail, I'm afraid to waste the money I worked hard for, I'm afraid to disappoint people around me if something goes wrong. And if we are all being honest, we are all afraid to fail.
Being Indecisive is a sin because it means that we don't trust God enough to deliver us. We allow the devil to have his time to play around us and waste our time and opportunity. The devil fills our minds with "what ifs" to keep us from trusting God's plans for our lives.
In the book, Joyce Meyer mentioned that in life we really do fail. Everyone, even the richest and smartest people, has experienced failure. It maybe scary but failure is also a way to success. It help us grow and it teaches the best lessons in life. When our plans don't work out, it means that God has something better in store for us.
We need to remind ourselves of who God is and what He is capable of doing. We should remember the miracles He has already performed in our lives. If we truly trust God, surrendering our decisions to Him means allowing Him to take control, regardless of the outcome. When we're on God's side, we're already on the winning side. So whatever decision you're struggling with right now, surrender it to God because it's in His hands.

Daily Devotional “Prophecy Without Love” Be different! August 16, 2023   “If I have the gift of prophecy . . . but do not have love, I am nothing” (1 Corinthians. 13:2). There are still a couple weeks left to read Iron Widow, but we’re voting for our next book now so we have plenty of time to get it for the first day of reading on October thirtieth! Book summaries are under the cut! Each new title is in bold for clarity.

The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud
Nathaniel is a boy magician-in-training, sold to the government by his birth parents at the age of five and sent to live as an apprentice to a master. Powerful magicians rule Britain, and its empire, and Nathaniel is told his is the “ultimate sacrifice” for a “noble destiny.”
If leaving his parents and erasing his past life isn’t tough enough, Nathaniel’s master, Arthur Underwood, is a cold, condescending, and cruel middle-ranking magician in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The boy’s only saving grace is the master’s wife, Martha Underwood, who shows him genuine affection that he rewards with fierce devotion. Nathaniel gets along tolerably well over the years in the Underwood household until the summer before his eleventh birthday. Everything changes when he is publicly humiliated by the ruthless magician Simon Lovelace and betrayed by his cowardly master who does not defend him.
Nathaniel vows revenge. In a Faustian fever, he devours magical texts and hones his magic skills, all the while trying to appear subservient to his master. When he musters the strength to summon the 5,000-year-old djinni Bartimaeus to avenge Lovelace by stealing the powerful Amulet of Samarkand, the boy magician plunges into a situation more dangerous and deadly than anything he could ever imagine.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
Kell is one of the last Antari—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black.
Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.
Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.
After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.
Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

“Can you give more info on how you perform the tarot Bible study? It seems cool”
To cleanse my tarot deck before I start, I shuffle my cards three times, symbolic of the Holy Trinity. The card that ends up on top is my main focus. For today, it is the Seven of Wands. I’m still learning what each card means, so I primarily use Google to help me.
Tumblr media
The main sites I use are:
- The Tarot Guide
- Biddy Tarot
- Labyrinthos
- A little Spark of Joy
- Tarot . Com
- as well as many others to get a general idea on the vibe of the card drawn
For the Seven of Wands, we have strength of will, challenges around you, not giving up, persevering, etc.
Next, I look at my three devotional books.
The first one is my United Methodist daily devotional, The Upper Room:
Tumblr media
I write down one verse and quote from this devotional that sticks out to me, especially if it has to do with my main focus. If another Bible verse not mentioned comes to mind, I include that in my study.
Next, because I am nonbinary, I feel that it’s important to read from a feminine devotional, geared towards women, titled The Confident Woman, by Joyce Meyers.
Tumblr media
Here we see that our Tarot Bible Study is leaning more towards how God is with us in adversity, adversity spoken of by the Seven of Wands. Because this is a Minor Arcana card, it has to do with the day to day. I am reminded of how we are to DAILY take up our cross like Jesus did, but we are to remember from Jeremiah 31:3 that God is with us in EVERYTHING.
Next, I look at a masculine devotional, geared towards men, titled An Anchor for the Soul by Christian Art Publishers.
Tumblr media
Ah, here, when it comes to the daily trials of life, we are to wait for God to direct us. “Be still in the Presence of the Lord and wait patiently for Him to act.” God is with us, we cannot forget that! But as our Lord, we must not jump to conclusions and act on them; we must be still and listen. When was the last time you just sat quietly in the Presence of God. Remind yourself that God isn’t angry with you, that He loves you, and He will help you with your daily stresses because “He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Overcoming Rejection
This writing from Joyce Meyer's Daily Devotions from Psalms was a great reminder. Over the last 7 days I have suffered through rejection wondering just who in the world I am? Harsh words and actions bring me down. I have to be reminded that there is a God who loves me dearly despite how the world may treat me.
The Best Way To Overcome Rejection
Psalm 27:10 says, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."
"The psalmist writes of an extremely painful type of rejection---abandonment by a father and mother. Rejection of any kind, by any person, can cause a person to feel sad, hopeless, and even depressed.
To be rejected means to be cast aside, to be thrown away as having no value, or to be unwanted and ignored. Human beings are created for love and acceptance, not for rejection, and the emotional pain of rejection is one of the deepest wounds a person can suffer. The closer we to the person who rejects us, the deeper the hurt.
Overcoming rejection is not easy. It does take time, but it is possible through the love of God. Receiving His love is the best way to break free from the pain inflicted when people reject you.
God never rejects us but accepts us completely and loves us unconditionally in Christ. The apostle Paul prays for believers in Ephesians 3:17-19 that we will be "rooted and established in love" and have the "power...to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge."
Let me encourage you to be looking for all the ways God shows His love to you.ll He does this through various means, and if you ask Him to help you recognize His love, you will soon begin to see it all around you. The revelation and understanding of God's love for you will heal any rejection you have experienced."

Joyce Meyer Devotional For Today 17th January 2024 – Practice Makes Perfect
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joyce Meyer Devotional - Practice Makes Perfect
The Topic of Joyce Meyer Devotional for 17th January 2024 Is “  Practice Makes Perfect”
SCRIPTURE:  Deuteronomy 13:4 (AMPC) You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cling to Him.
JOYCE MEYER MESSAGE FOR TODAY 17TH JANUARY 2024.
Once we begin listening to and hearing from God, it is important to obey whatever we hear Him say. Obedience increases our quality of fellowship with Him and strengthens our faith. We might say, “Practice makes perfect” when it comes to hearing and obeying Him. In other words, we become more and more confident as we gain experience. It takes a lot of practice to reach the point of complete submission to God’s leading. Even knowing that God’s ways are perfect and that His plans always work, we still feign ignorance sometimes when He asks us to do something that requires personal sacrifice, or we might even be afraid that we are not hearing clearly and therefore too cautious to take action. Don’t be fearful of sacrifice or of making a mistake. There are many things in life that are worse than being wrong. Jesus said, “Follow Me.” I firmly believe that when we have done our best to hear from God, then we must “step out and find out,” if we truly are hearing His voice or not. Shrinking back in fear all of our lives will never allow us to make progress in our ability to hear from God. He did not say, “You take the lead, and I will follow you.” I have learned that we may as well do quickly whatever God says, because if we don’t, I can guarantee that we will be miserable. When our children are learning how to walk, we don’t get angry when they fall down. We realize they are learning, and we work with them. God is the same way, and He will teach you how to hear from Him if you walk in faith and not fear. Joyce Meyer’s Daily Devotion Prayer Starter 17/01/2024. Father, I come to You today in the name of Jesus, and I thank You for this day, I ask that You help me to always recognize and listen to Your leading guidance. I ask You to help me walk in faith, rather than fear, and to help me grow in confidence as I fellowship with You, amen. Read the full article

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” —Proverbs 23:7 (AMP)
“Choose Your Thoughts” By Joyce Meyer:
“One of my favorite things to say is, “Where the mind goes, the man follows,” because the way you think determines the way you live.
If you think you’re going to be defeated, then you’re going to have an attitude that leads to defeat. But if you choose to think about God’s promises, you’re going to have a faith-filled, expectant attitude.
Yesterday, you may have let your mind focus on the negative— what you can’t do, how badly you’ve messed up, all the things that could go wrong—but today you can submit your mind to the Word of God. You can actually choose the thoughts you are going to dwell on.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, you can change your thoughts today. You can choose a better, more positive, more fulfilling life.
Prayer Starter: Thank You, Father, for helping me think positive thoughts. I am grateful that I am not a prisoner to negative thinking and that I can choose happy, and joy-filled thoughts, which will lead to a more fulfilling life, amen..”

Devotional Content:
My Time With GOD Study
By Joyce Meyer
The devil attacks us in a variety of ways, but we can always have the victory if we will lift up the shield of faith against him at the onset of his attack. Recently, early in the morning, he attacked my mind with critical thoughts about several people I know, and this morning it was fear and worry. Both times, the Holy Spirit made me aware of what was happening and I released my faith in God by remembering the faithfulness of God and trusting Him to take care of everything that was attempting to annoy me. I also replaced the wrong thoughts with good ones, because that is one way that we overcome evil with good (see Romans 12:21).
When the devil is attacking, we dare not be passive and do nothing. We must come against him. We submit ourselves to God and His Word, and we resist the devil and he flees (see James 4:7). No matter what lie the devil is whispering to your mind, don’t believe him, but instead wield (use) the sword of the Spirit that is the Word of God.
Replace thoughts of criticism with thoughts of humility and love. Replace fear and worry with trust and confidence. Faith is a shield, and it will protect us in every battle if we will “lift” it up by simply declaring our trust in God.
PRAYER:
Father, always reveal to me when the devil is attacking me and remind me of relevant scriptures to replace the evil thoughts he is suggesting. Help me lift up my shield of faith at all times. Thank You!

Focus on Loving the Lord, Not Mistakes
Sometimes when I make mistakes, I think that God doesn't love me, but that is not true. This devotional from Daily Devotions from Psalms written by Joyce Meyer opened my eyes more to the great love God has for us.
Day 39: I Love You, Lord
Psalm 18:1-2 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.
"What God wants more than anything else is for us to love Him. When a teacher of the Jewish law asked Jesus what the most important commandment is, He replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). Jesus also said, "If you love me, keep my commands" (John 14:15).
Notice that He did not say, "If you obey Me, I will love you." God's love for us is unconditional, and we we can love Him only because He first loved us (I John 4:19). He wants us to receive His love as a gift and then respond by obeying Him gladly, knowing that everything He asks us to do is always and only for our good.
Sometimes we struggle to obey God in areas where it is hard for us to obey, but instead or simply trying harder, perhaps we should focus on loving Him more. The more we love Him, the easier it is to obey Him. We want to please God, and any sacrifice we need to make in order to do it iss worth it. If you struggle with a weakness or a particular sin, spend more time with the Lord and in His Word. you will find that to be more successful than human effort and struggle. Tell the Lord several times each day that you love Him, and thank Him for loving you."
