“Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” —Psalm 143:9-10 (NIV)
“Safe in God’s Hiding Place” By Joyce Meyer:
“David prays in today’s scriptures that God will lead him on level ground. I have always thought of this as a request for God to keep him emotionally stable. David was being pursued by his enemies and declared that God was his hiding place. When I pray, I often ask God to hide me in Him. We are kept safe in Him.
David had many opportunities to become flustered and allow his emotions to affect him in negative ways, so he prayed that God would keep him level or stable. Emotional stability is very important. We all have emotions, but we should not let them have us. With God’s help, we can learn to manage them instead of allowing them to manage us. We can live beyond our feelings by knowing and acting on God’s Word rather than on the way we feel.
We cannot do this by willpower alone; we need God’s grace. We need His help and power because emotions can be very strong, and without God’s help, they will lead us in wrong directions.
Have you been allowing your feelings to control you? If so, begin today to ask God to lead you on level ground.
Prayer of the Day: Father, I am sorry for letting my emotions lead me at times and I ask You to keep me stable and lead me on level ground.”

Jesus Came for the Brokenhearted
By Rick Warren
“He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18 NKJV).
Any idea where the phrase “broken heart” comes from?
It comes from the Bible and is thousands of years old. In Psalm 69:20, David said: “Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless” (NIV).
David wrote about it centuries ago, but doctors say it’s a medical reality. When you go through a traumatic event, your brain releases chemicals to deal with it, and some of those chemicals actually weaken the tissue of the heart. It’s called broken heart syndrome.
What causes a broken heart? Here are some of the most common ways our hearts get broken:
We get disappointed because things don’t turn out as we’ve planned.
We’re rejected by someone we love or someone we think loves us.
We resent others by holding on to past hurts.
But here’s some amazing news. It doesn’t matter what you call a broken heart or how you got it; Jesus can help. In fact, in Jesus’ very first sermon, he says it’s one of the reasons he came.
Whether you’ve been let down by disappointment, rejection, or resentment, Jesus came to heal your heart.
Jesus said about the Father, “He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18 NKJV).
If you’ve been hurt, God wants to help. The Bible says in Psalm 147:3, “[God] heals the heartbroken and bandages their wounds” (The Message).
You’re never closer to God than when you’re hurting. He’s here to help.
Will you let him?

Some of the challenges we face in life may be very difficult ones, but God never allows more temptation to come upon us than we can bear. In fact, with every temptation, He always provides a way out.
The scripture above not only says He provides a way out, but it also says He gives us the strength to bear up under trials with patience. That means we can go through them with a good attitude! Maintaining a good attitude in the midst of something unpleasant is the key to victory, and it enables us to enjoy the journey.
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for being with me through all of life’s difficulties. Help me today to keep a good attitude, knowing You are working on my behalf behind the scenes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL DAILYDEVO Daily Devo Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers. — 3 John 2 (AMPC) View Previous Devo November 18, 2021 Earthly Blessings Adapted from the resource Power Thoughts Devo - by Joyce Meyer In plain, everyday language, this Scripture could read, “My dearly beloved children, I want you to have every earthly blessing you could possibly imagine, but only to the degree that you have spiritual maturity and Christlike character." When you look at the Scripture this way, you get the message, "I need to grow up!" You don't need to talk God into blessing you. He wants to bless you. In fact, He wants to bless you more than you can imagine being blessed (see Ephesians 3:20). But even more than He wants you to have something, He wants you to be something. He wants you to be Christlike. Once you are spiritually mature, you will be able to handle having the earthly blessings He desires for you and use them for His glory. Prayer Starter: Father, it’s time for me to grow up, but I’m going to need Your help. In Jesus’ name, amen. #textagram #textgram https://www.instagram.com/p/CWarXvILk0bT5NB5asWnL20u0y_cW3UJOp4ERQ0/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Rock Almighty Devotional, Praise, and Worship With The Rez Band! DAILY DEVO from -  https://joycemeyer.org/dailydevoThe Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. — Exodus 14:15-16 Put The Rez Band On Your Playlist @Apple Music/iTunes - http://bit.ly/REZBandAmazon - http://bit.ly/RezBandAMZSee Your Favorite Artists Live!  http://bit.ly/TicketNetworkFave Adapted from the resource The Confident Woman Devotional - by Joyce Meyer When God called Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses felt very inadequate and kept telling God what he could not do and did not have. God asked him what he had in his hand and Moses replied, “A rod.” It was an ordinary rod, used for herding sheep. God told him to throw it down, implying that Moses was to give it to Him. When God gave the rod back to Moses, it was filled with miracle-working power and was used by Moses to part the Red Sea as well as for other miracles. If you will give God what you have, no matter how little and ineffective you may think it is, God will use it and give you back more than you gave Him. In other words, it is not our abilities that God desires, but it is our availability He wants. He wants us to see possibilities, not problems. Don’t spend your life thinking “if only” you had something else, then you could do something worthwhile. “If only” is a thief of what could be. Prayer Starter: Lord, I make myself available to You, just as I am. Please use me to do Your will, and help me to begin seeing possibilities everywhere I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Joyce Meyer Dauky Devo 02/13/2019
Many sophisticated, intelligent people lack wisdom and common sense. God’s Word says, If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him (James 1:5 AMPC).
I am amazed how many people think they must stop using common sense in order to be “spiritual.” Spiritual people don’t float around all day on clouds of glory; they live in the real world and deal with real issues in real ways. They need real answers, just like everyone else—and those answers are found in God’s Word and revealed to us by His Spirit.
We do the seeking, and God does the speaking, but He is the Spirit of Wisdom and will not tell us to do anything that is unwise. Many times we ask God to speak to us and lead us, but if He does not give us a specific word from Scripture or speak a word in our hearts, we still have to live our daily lives and make decisions.
God is not going to dictate every little choice we make, but He does give us wisdom and common sense—and those two make a winning combination.

John 2:24-25. “But Jesus [for His part] did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all [men]; and He did not need anyone to bear witness concerning man [needed no evidence from anyone about men], for He Himself knew what was in human nature. [He could read men’s hearts.” (AMPC)
John 2:25. “No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart.” (NLT)
“Loving People, Trusting God” By Joyce Meyer:
“Jesus loved people— we see that in His interaction with people, especially His disciples. He had great fellowship with them—traveled with them, ate with them, and taught them—but He did not trust Himself totally to them. Because He knew what was in human nature.
That does not mean He didn’t trust them at all; He just didn’t open Himself up and give Himself to them in the same way He trusted God and opened Himself up to His heavenly Father. He didn’t expect them to be perfect toward Him and never disappoint Him.
We can be thankful for the example of Jesus because He shows us how we should live. We should love people, and we can trust them, but never give them the trust that belongs to God. He is always trustworthy, and He always has your best interest at heart.
Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You for the example of Jesus. I love and trust the people close to me in life, but my ultimate dependence and trust is in You. Thank You for always having my best interests at heart, amen.” 🙏

How to Choose Good Friends
Adapted from the resource Hearing from God Each Morning Devotional - by Joyce Meyer
If we listen, God will speak to us about our relationships—our marriages, friendships, business associations, and even casual acquaintances. He may ask us to sever friendships or relationships with people who can tempt us to stray from His plan for our lives.
We can easily become like those we spend time with. If we spend time with people who are selfish and self-centered, we may soon find ourselves often focused on ourselves, thinking about what we can do or get for ourselves. In contrast, God may encourage us to make friends with someone who is a giver. If we spend time with such a person, before long, we will be givers, too.
It is enjoyable and beneficial to spend time with someone who really hears from God, someone who truly senses what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing. It is not fun to spend time with people who are dull in their spiritual hearing, and we can tell when we are with someone like that.
The verse for today says that “iron sharpens iron,” and we can sharpen our ability to hear the right things by being with people who practice listening for God’s voice and obeying Him.
Prayer Starter: Father, I lift my relationships up to you. Help me to know who I should spend time with—the people who will influence me in a positive way and deepen my relationship with You. Help me to also be a positive influence in the lives of others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Move Fast to Do Good
By By Rick Warren
“Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them” (Proverbs 3:27 NLT).
We’ve talked for the last couple of days about when to move fast in response to God’s Spirit. Here’s what we’ve said so far: Obey quickly when God tells you to do something. Move fast when you need to forgive or ask for forgiveness. Be quick to keep your promises to God. And when you’re faced with temptation, run!
Today we’re going to look at two more times when you should move fast. First, move fast when you have the opportunity to do good. The Bible says it over and over: When you see a chance to do something good for someone else, do it immediately.
This year, God will put people in your life with needs. Their needs might be physical. Some could be emotional, like a need for kindness or encouragement.
Proverbs 3:27 says, “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them” (NLT).
If, for example, you see someone who is experiencing homelessness, don’t say, “I’ve got to help the homeless someday.” Instead, help right then.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:4, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done” (TLB).
There’s never a “perfect” time to do anything. Plus, none of us are guaranteed even tomorrow. In John 9:4, Jesus says, “All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, for there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end” (TLB).
Finally, the last time you should move quickly is the most important. You should move quickly when God offers salvation. God has offered you salvation, and today is the day to accept it.
When I was a teenager, I had a poster on my bedroom wall that said, “Not to decide is to decide.”
When you say, “Not yet,” you’re actually saying no to Christ. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, “Right now God is ready to welcome you. Today he is ready to save you” (TLB).
How do you accept salvation? You turn away from yourself and toward God. You trust Christ to come into your life, forgive your sins, and make you who he wants you to be.
If you want to start your new year by accepting God’s salvation, you can pray something like this:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Amen.
Saying yes to salvation is the best way to start the new year.
PLAY today’s audio teaching from Pastor Rick >>
Talk About It
When did someone do good for you last year? What did that feel like?
What opportunities to do something good have you been putting off? Choose one of those things that you can do today.
Have you said yes to God’s offer of salvation? If not, reread the prayer at the end of the devotional. Is that something you’re ready to pray today? Remember, not to decide is to decide.
Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL DAILYDEVO Daily Devo Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). — Ephesians 4:15 (AMPC) View Previous Devo November 15, 2021 Growing in Maturity Adapted from the resource The Power of Being Thankful - by Joyce Meyer God does not expect us to be perfect. In fact, it is precisely because we never could be perfect that He sent Jesus to save us and the Holy Spirit to help us in our daily lives. If we could do it by ourselves, we would not need help. Thankfully, Jesus came to forgive our imperfections and to wipe them away in God’s sight. We actually are perfect through Jesus, but we can never be perfect in our own performance. Jesus did say, “Be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48 NLT), but study of the original language reveals that He meant that we should grow into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character. God is not disappointed that we have not arrived at manifesting perfect behavior, but He does delight in finding us growing into maturity. Prayer Starter: Father, I am so thankful that You help me grow into spiritual completeness and maturity. I’m not perfect, but because of Your work, I thank You that I’m okay and I’m on my way! https://www.instagram.com/p/CWS4lpbrqa7SR27T7D2fS-WWbqVJ8OBNeFS4Z40/?utm_medium=tumblr
