Tumblr media
ACT ONE — PROMISES
Tumblr media
“you know, it’s crazy how one day we could be hanging out on the rooftop for the last time and we wouldn’t even know it.”
you muttered, hugging your knees as you turned to look at your best friend, park jeongwoo.
he scoffed. “like i’d ever let you stop having our daily catchup sessions on the roof,” he quipped, shaking his head. “you are stuck with me forever, love.” jeongwoo smiled, reaching out as he invited you into his embrace.
“well, good.” you chuckled, finding solace between the brunet’s arms. “because i’m not going anywhere, woo.”
“ooh, is that a promise, missy?” jeongwoo inquired, raising his brows.
you smiled, nodding. “yeah. we are gonna be besties forever and always.” you never felt more sure about anything than when you made the promise while watching the moon.
“forever and always, indeed.”
Tumblr media
ACT TWO — OBLIVIOUSNESS
Tumblr media
out of all the drama club traditions, melancholy mondays were definitely jeongwoo’s favorite.
it was when the drama club would get together and watch a movie that would somehow have most of their members in tears. and as sadistic as it sounded, jeongwoo enjoyed those days the most.
why, you may ask?
well, it was because there was something about you crying like a baby while being held by jeongwoo that did things to his heart.
he always waved it off as finding you adorable — which was without a doubt the truth — but there was something else to it too.
but jeongwoo just couldn’t put his finger on what that feeling was.
just like clockwork, every monday, park jeongwoo sat right beside you, enveloping his arms around you while you watched the drama club’s weekly sad movie, wiping away your tears as if it were his profession.
“why would he do that?” you cried, gripping tightly onto your best friend’s shirt. “they could’ve been so good together.”
jeongwoo nodded, patting your head softly. “could they, though?” he asked quietly. “he loved her enough to know it was the right thing to do. i would do the same, honestly,” he muttered.
you turned to look at your friend, your lips quivering at the thought of him not being there for you ever again. “don’t say that.” you teared up instantly, sobbing as you were pulled into his embrace.
jeongwoo winced, regretting his choice of words. “shit, i’m sorry. you know, i didn’t mean it like that,” he apologized.
sumin chuckled as he saw the two best friends, exchanging knowing glances with jinsik. “you can’t tell me they aren’t dating.” he raised his brows, skeptical.
“you’ll be surprised.” jinsik laughed. “that’s how they usually are.”
“like a couple?” sumin inquired, shocked at the response.
“exactly like a couple.”
Tumblr media
ACT THREE — PROTECTIVENESS
Tumblr media
“wow, such a gentleman you are.” you scoffed, frowning at your monitor, as you listened to the unsolicited curses from a fellow gamer. “could you speak one sentence without a curse word in it?”
jeongwoo paused his game as he looked up from his phone, brows furrowed in concern. “hey, love. what’s wrong?” he inquired, immediately at your side.
you pushed the mic upward with a sigh. “the guy’s just a sore loser. he started cursing everyone out, and when i told him to stop, he just targeted me,” you explained.
“hand over the headset, please?” jeongwoo didn’t even wait for your response, taking your headphones off before wearing them himself. “hi there. could you just repeat what you just said?”
you couldn’t help but crack a smile, amused at how polite jeongwoo was when you knew he was most definitely getting cursed out by the other guy.
“woah, dude. calm down.” he chuckled, shaking his head. “you kiss your mother with that mouth?”
“woo-” you tried to cut him off, not wanting him to get into a virtual fight unnecessarily because of you. “please.”
jeongwoo raised a hand to stop you, raising his voice as he spoke to the gamer guy. “no, man. you listen to me!” he exclaimed. “you may as well whisper in my friend’s direction; i will hunt you myself. good riddance.” he ended the game, shutting down your setup.
you bit your bottom lip, worriedly glancing over at the male. “woo, are–” you spoke, pausing when jeongwoo looked at you with furrowed brows.
“don’t let anyone speak to you like that ever, love. if they cause trouble, just let me know. i’ll take care of it for you, okay?”
Tumblr media
ACT FOUR — COMPANIONSHIP
Tumblr media
you let out a sigh for the umpteenth time as you felt your best friend poke your side, fisting your hand on the table to calm yourself down.
for the past half-hour, park jeongwoo seemed to find happiness in poking the side of your waist. the way he could distract you from getting your work done in class made him chuckle.
his actions earned snickers from the backbenchers, but he was more accomplished upon seeing your adorable frown every time you turned to look at him.
one more time. just one more time, and i swear–
“park jeongwoo, i swear i am this close to–” you seethed, holding your index and thumb together with just a sliver of space between them. “-ripping your fingers out of your hands, for real.”
the class fell into a pin-drop silence at your outburst, followed by your teacher kicking you out of the class along with your best friend.
despite your whining about how you did nothing wrong, you found yourself outside your class, mustering the harshest glare you could as you faced the one who got you into this mess.
you really wanted to be angry at him; you really did. but alas, one look at each other, and the two of you couldn’t help but burst into a fit of giggles.
fuck park jeongwoo and his fucking handsome face.
jeongwoo smiled. “damn, stop looking at me like that; i’m blushing,” he teased. “i might just think you want to kiss me, love.” he chuckled, his shoulders bouncing as he laughed.
“oh, you think about that a lot, don’t you, park?"
Tumblr media
ACT FIVE — UNREQUITED
Tumblr media
“will you just shut up and eat this, y/n?” jeongwoo sighed, not wanting to give up on his attempt to make sure you were properly getting your meals.
you whined. “woo, i’m literally carrying our team right now. one wrong move and we lose, so can’t i please eat later?” you asked, hoping he’d listen to your pleas.
“you’ve been telling me that for the last hour. i’m not falling for that again.”
“woo, please. come on, don’t be like that.”
jeongwoo shook his head, grabbing your collar as he pulled you closer. “i’m ending this game right now, guys,” he said into the headset. “i need to make sure my girl gets her meals,” he stated, and with a few clicks, he ended the game like he promised.
it made you laugh, seeing how the bare proximity between you and your best friend knocked the air out of your lungs while he seemed absolutely normal. his gestures, his words, his behavior — everything drove you crazy.
you didn’t really know why you felt like this, but then again, you knew exactly why.
“my girl, huh?” you focused on something else to distract yourself. “didn’t know i was yours.”
jeongwoo chuckled, nodding. “you would love that, wouldn’t you, love?” he quipped, clearly teasing you.
fucking hell, yeah, i would.
Tumblr media
ACT SIX — REALIZATION
Tumblr media
park jeongwoo sat between his friends, hands fisting in anger as he tried to register what they were talking about.
why would y/n date someone and not tell me about them?
“nah, but like, the way he asked her out was also cute, though,” sumin stated, noting the way jeongwoo’s expressions changed with every word he spoke. “with all her favorite snacks and those cute little notes.”
jinsik snickered, understanding what his friend was trying to do. “yeah, honestly, they are super cute together too,” he agreed. “i can’t believe it’s been one month since that day,” he added, instantly getting the younger male’s attention.
“wait, what? one month? y/n’s been dating him for a month?!”
“yeah, you didn’t know?”
jeongwoo scoffed. “of course i didn’t fucking know,” he grumbled, poking his tongue against the inside of his cheek.
“i mean, it’s understandable.” jinsik shrugged. “hyunwoo is a mutual friend of you and y/n, so maybe they wanted to keep it low-key in case it didn’t work out.”
why would you date one of my best friends and not tell me about it, y/n?
“no, it’s not understandable!” jeongwoo stated, raising his voice angrily. “how can y/n just date someone and not tell me?!”
“you are mad at y/n?”
“well, wouldn’t you be mad at your best friend if they were dating someone behind your back?”
sumin couldn’t help but smile, shaking his head. “actually, if i were you, i’d be mad at hyunwoo.” he shrugged. “you’ve known hyunwoo longer than y/n, so why are you mad at her?” he asked.
jeongwoo fell silent at his friend’s words, not understanding the logic himself.
exactly why was he mad at you more than hyunwoo?
though you were both his best friends, jeongwoo knew hyunwoo longer, so it was confusing as to why he was mad at you more.
“are you mad at y/n for not telling you?” jinsik inquired, raising his brows as he looked at jeongwoo. “or are you mad at yourself because all it took was a stupid lie for you to realize you like her?”
“huh, what?”
“y/n’s not dating anyone, jeongwoo. we just made it up because we know you like each other, but you were just too oblivious to notice it,” sumin admitted. “you like y/n, jeongwoo.”
yeah, i guess i like her. quite a lot, actually.
Tumblr media
ACT SEVEN — CONFESSION
Tumblr media
park jeongwoo stood outside your house, going over the words he wanted to tell you in his head.
after that chat with his friends, the brunet couldn't help but feel like an idiot, realizing how stupid he must've made you feel with his words and actions.
and all it took was for his friends to lie to him, for him to realize he had fallen for his best friend.
before he could gather the courage to ring the doorbell, you opened the door, having seen him standing outside for quite a while now.
for some reason, your best friend was distancing himself from you, and you didn't know why.
and now that he was finally at your doorstep, you approached him first before he changed his mind and ran away.
"woo," you softly muttered, cracking a small smile at him. "is everything alright? you haven't been answering any of my texts or calls properly lately."
park jeongwoo felt his heart break as he heard the disheartened tone in your voice, followed by the little pout on your lips.
"i'm sorry, love. i really am."
"n–no, it's alright. i just–"
"i'm sorry for not realizing it sooner." jeongwoo shook his head. "i'm sorry you had to think i never felt anything for you."
your eyes widened in shock, head tilted in confusion as you looked at the male standing in front of you.
he nodded, seeing your confused look. "i like you, y/n. and i was an idiot to not have realized it earlier," he admitted. "i like you very much."
"really?"
"yeah, we were always best friends, and i never thought i'd have to lose you to anybody. but the thought of you looking at someone else the way you look at me drives me crazy, and i wouldn't be able to live with that, you know?"
you teared up a little at his words, realizing they were truly heartfelt. you had never felt more loved by the way he looked at you, eyes filled with affection.
"so, what i'm really tryna ask is," jeongwoo paused, taking a deep breath, "would you kinda sorta maybe wanna be mine?”
“i’m yours, jeongwoo. forever and always yours.”

“Isn't he the cutest?”
Jeongwoo turned to face your eyes which were glued to your phone, he couldn't help but roll his eyes and look right back to his own individual device.
“I don't know what you find so attractive about him.”
“Well he's cute, he's nice too so I don't really know what there isn't to like about him.”
“There's better people out there.”
“Well, to be fair you're never gonna find the best person in the world. That's just delusional, the best person is who is right for us and that's different for everyone.”
Your best friend finally made eye contact with you for the first time since you both ate, you turned off your phone and placed it face down on the table.
“What about you?” You asked, turning your full body to face him, who was busy drinking his coffee.
He responded with a confused pitch “What about me?”
“Do you like anyone? I always talk about him so I just wanted to know if you had anyone like that.”
He glanced up at the ceiling thinking for a solid moment, he glitched out of reality and completely lost himself in his own world. You… who had now become awkward, laughed a bit which seemed to bring him back to his senses.
“I do like someone, but I don't wanna tell you.”
“Aw come'on now, don't be mean.”
“I'm not, I just don't go around telling everyone like you do..”
“See? That just proves my point that you're mean.”
“There's a huge difference mind you.”
Rolling your eyes, maybe because you were now genuinely curious to know who he may have liked, or because of how he was being a jerk. Nevertheless you brought yourself to stand up and went to the kitchen.
“I should start prepping dinner, is regular pasta okay with you?”
“If you're gonna treat me to some food then might as well make me something luxurious.” he taunted, a slight smirk creeping onto his malicious face.
“You're not worth my time and energy.” You teased back in which a visible frown appeared on his face, turning back to the front of the couch and turning on the TV to put on some random channel so he could at least try to assist you in making dinner.
Although Jeongwoo and you had known each other for practically forever, you both had what could only be described as a love-hate relationship even though you both were technically each other's closest friend.
“Jeongwoo, pass me the ball.”
“No, come get it yourself.”
“You always tell me that, at least kick it a little.”
“Make me.”
“I'm gonna get run over if I go over there!”
It was your favorite excuse because he knew you were right, and he couldn't bear to watch you get hurt. It was always the best thing to say when he didn't want to pass you a simple ball.
“Thanks, Jeongie.”
He pretended to not like that name, you knew he did. Despite you cringing when you said it for the first few times you got used to it and it became a way of teasing him, and now it was really more of a habit.
Moving into college you both became roommates, really no one could complain even though you liked to pretend it was the most miserable thing that could happen to you at first… well sometimes still like to tease him that way.
“You've got to be kidding me.” you muttered
“You know you like being with me.” he responded, flopping onto the couch.
“I've already spent the last 12 years of my life with you- I don't need to add another 4.”
“Hey, at least it's better than getting a stranger, you've known me for 12 years and know I'm not a creep at least!”
“You're gonna throw parties every weekend!”
“I will not!”
“Ugh… I knew I should've transferred.”
“I'll only throw parties with your permission!”
“I don't like parties so if you're gonna throw one, tell me at least 3 days prior so I can make plans to go out.”
“Deal.”
“Oh! And you're cleaning up after yourself!”
“Yes I know… I'm not irresponsible..”
“That's debatable-”
“Hey! Let's just make some rules and boundaries list. You make one, I make one and then it's a fair game.”
You thought about the offer for a moment until you nodded and made your list of rules to follow, that really applied for both you and Jeongwoo because all of them were reasonable.
And that's mainly how you ended up where you were, roommates with whom you perceived as an all too familiar face.
————————————————————————
“Do you wanna go eat?” You heard Jeongwoo ask from the other side of the couch.
You glanced at him, both of you had been studying in the living room, although he was in a different major, you did sometimes study in the same room because you knew very well that there were always those phone tendencies.
So you both completed assignments together sometimes in order to limit your access to those tendencies… So upon hearing him you wondered if he somehow got ahold of his phone and dialed some random friend's number so they could go get takeout together and you somehow were so laser focused on your assignment that you hadn't noticed him pick up his phone.
Just as you were about to scold him and tell him to focus, you noticed his phone on the table where it had always been. Confused, you looked over to see his eyes fixed on his computer before looking up at you.
“Are you talking to me?” you asked
“Come’on, don't get delusional. You would never be so focused on studying in order for me to go unnoticed when I pick up my phone. Yes I'm talking to you!”
“My bad-” you muttered, rolling your eyes at the unnecessary offense that he just gave you, almost wanting to reject him because of that but decided to nod just because you were hungry. “But you're paying,” you added..
He nodded slowly as he slowly shut his computer “Yeah… it's my treat”
He was getting up slowly and only then did you start to wonder if he was okay, he seemed off, kind of upset and a little stressed, you set your computer to the side and picked up your phone, “you okay?”
“What do you mean?” He replied, making his way to pick up his wallet which was sitting on the TV table, he opened it to check how much money was in it.
“You seem a bit upset, or nervous. Are you okay?” You asked again, this time he just simply nodded without saying a word. It was abnormal behavior for him and that kinda made you more suspicious, but maybe he just wasn't in a chatty mood and the only one who would be worsening it would be you, so you decided to stay quiet.
It wasn't late at night, but it definitely wasn't early. There was a fast food lot nearby so there was no need to hop onto a taxi, there weren't many students in the area like you expected, so the walk was pretty peaceful.
Glancing up at the moon and then glancing back down in front of the non-busy city “It's a nice night isn't it?” you could hear Jeongwoo say beside you.
“It really is, it's nice and quiet, there's a light breeze, and the lights are gorgeous…”
“I agree..”
You both walked in silence for another few moments before you looked up at him and asked.
“Speaking of- why did you decide to invite me all of a sudden?”
Jeongwoo turned to you and made quick eye contact before breaking it and looking back to your surroundings. “I kinda figured we both needed a break. Nice and simple explanation.”
“Oh that's cool but I don't buy it- I think you wanna tell me something.” You teased.
“I have nothing to tell you- you're a boring person.” He replied with a frown appearing on his face, slight pout as he placed his hands in his pockets and brought his face down into the crook of his jacket in order to shield his nose from the cold… sure it was fall, but to be fall it was definitely one of the warmer nights today.
“Still cold sensitive huh?”
“A little”
“Guess you've really never changed” you said with a sigh, slightly smiling and remembering the old times with your childhood best friend.
“I haven't thrown any parties ever since we became roommates. That was 3 years ago.”
You froze in place, you never noticed how close it was to the last year in your curriculum, and you also didn't realize how Jeongwoo, the life of the party… never actually threw his own ever since he moved in with you.
“Crap, I never noticed that we only had one year left, I'm moving out of the dorms next year.”
“That's right.” He answered to your comment, you who was slightly petrified at the sudden realization hitting you.
“I don't know if I'm ready for that yet-”
“Why? Because you wanna see -”
“No! Because I won't be able to see you again!”
Jeongwoo stopped in his tracks, looking at you confused, “you're gonna miss me?” He asked in which you replied with an annoyed pitch “you jerk, how would I not miss you? I've been with you for practically 15 years by now and you expect me to just forget about you?”
“Well- I kinda did…”
“I’ll find you and I'll show up to your wedding when you least expect it.”
You noticed his mood drop a bit and you wondered if you had said the wrong thing, you immediately apologized but he brushed it off.
“I won't show up to yours just know that.”
You lifted an eyebrow, staring at him confused by his words.
“Why?”
“I can't watch the girl I love get married to someone else.”
“What…?” You questioned, words shaky and almost trailing off into the air.
“Don’t say that you didn't know-”
“I really didn't -”
“Of course you didn't. You were too busy loving someone else to notice me.”
“Jeongwoo - I'm sorry… I really didn't know.”
Before you realized you had arrived at the food area, you glanced at him who was already making eye contact with you.
“What would you like to eat?”

◇ The Fight, If It Was Even One
You wipe the counter, missing the sprinkling of crumbs right in front of you. Your eyes are looking straight at it without actually seeing it. It’s the way you usually are these days, ever since the fight. The one that happened right in this very kitchen, if it could even be called a fight.
“Why is he here?” he had asked.
“He was drunk last night and gave my address to the taxi driver. It was nothing,” you had insisted. You had shrugged your shoulders and sipped from your coffee mug.
“It’s not nothing if he spent the night here!” he had hissed at you. How dare he.
“So what if he spent the night? This wouldn’t be the first time...” your voice had trailed off as you realised your blunder. You had bit your lip and glanced at him, wondering how he’d take that in.
He had stood there fuming. The muscles in his right cheek, the side that had been facing you, had twitched from the way he had gritted his teeth.
The person in question had appeared at the kitchen entrance then, only halfway done pulling his own shirt over his head, allowing the two people in the kitchen a glimpse of his well-toned abs.
“Noona, I think I’ll be going now. Thanks for...” he had shot a look at the man still standing motionless near the sink, then smirked to himself and continued mysteriously, “...last night.”
“Wait... aren’t you at least going to finish your coffee?” you had asked.
“That’s okay, I’ve had some. Besides, Junkyu hyung’s here now. I’ll just be in the way.”
“Well, let me just walk you out.”
“Really, it’s fine noona. I can let myself out. See you at work?”
“Oh alright. Yeah, see you.”
Junkyu had waited until he heard the faint sound of the front door click shut before he spoke.
“_______, I can’t do this anymore. Last time I believed you. This time... I don’t know. After what I saw, I just... I don’t know.”
You had looked up then. Am I hearing things? Has he finally grown some balls? Have I really pushed it too far this time? You had cleared your throat and put on your best poker face. “You’ll forgive me. Just like you always do. This time won’t be any different.”
At your words, he had looked resigned. “Are you saying that what I thought happened last night, happened?”
“What do you think?” you had replied, a challenge clear in your voice.
“Then it’s over.” Just like that, he had left.
You waited two weeks for his call: it never came. He didn’t text you to tell you that you were forgiven, like always. He didn’t come by the bar where you worked. In fact, there was no word from him at all. You weren’t worried, not at the time. You knew it would take him time. Another two weeks should do it. You weren’t going to panic and call or look for him. Oh no, you weren’t one to do that. He’d be back soon enough. Meanwhile, there was plenty of other game. You had thought of Jaehyuk then, and felt kind of guilty towards both of them.
◇ The Past, When It All Started
You knew you weren’t pretty, not what people would ordinarily call pretty anyway. Because of that, you made up for it with an aura of confidence that was irresistible to the people around you. You were no stranger to attention. In high school you hadn’t fit in anywhere--partly because you didn’t want to--but you always had a string of boys following you around, worshipping the ground you walked on. Hell, you’d even had a girl ask you out. And although girls really didn’t pique your interest, the way you’re attracted to him might have just proven that wrong. His baby face and full pouty lips. That smooth jawline. Unblemished clear skin. You would’ve thought he was a girl if it weren’t for his school uniform. You did think he was a girl that first time you two met, until he stood up.
“What do you think you’re doing?” you had asked the person you noticed lurking behind the bushes.
“Um... watching you play?” Such a bold answer from someone who’d been trying so hard not to be seen. It had totally taken you by surprise, which wasn’t something easy to do.
“Me, why?” The person had shrunk even lower behind the shrubs at your question. You had waited for an answer but when none came, you had said, “never mind if you’re not going to tell, keep on watching then”. And you had grabbed the ball you came for off the ground and flounced away.
“I like you!”
You had turned around, surprised once again. Twice in as many sentences. He had stood where you could see him, away from the bushes. You had liked what you saw straightaway.
You two had been together ever since.
Four years.
And you had never been faithful.
Maybe it was partly his fault. He kept on being so forgiving. Even when he had found you locking lips with Haruto, the dashing basketball team captain, behind the bleachers in the gym. Even when you had told him you’d be studying at the library, but his best friend Jihoon saw you making out in the art room with some guy. Even when you had broken off your date, countless times over the years, to go out with someone else. Even when he stopped by your workplace, just to keep you company on your breaks from DJing, and you had flirted with the good-looking younger bartender right in front of his eyes.
Always, he would just shrug his shoulders and say that you were just being yourself.
“I love you, because you’re you. You are your own person, and I wouldn’t change that for the world” is what he would say every time you asked if he was angry at you for the things you did.
But that fateful morning he had come to your house to see if you wanted to go get breakfast together, let himself in with the spare key you yourself had given him, found you in the kitchen with that same bartender, who was shirtless and hugging you from the back, had that conversation with you, and something must have snapped in him. For the first time in four years, Junkyu went away.
And stayed away.
The two weeks that you had thought would be enough had turned into two years. You had feared for the worst when he still hadn’t contacted you after two months. Your calls had gone straight to voicemail. You had found out that he resigned from his job. And moved out of his apartment. He had vanished, just like that. Out of your life, without so much as a single word of goodbye.
You had been living with many regrets these past two years. You should have been faithful. You should have treated him better. You should have shown him how much he means to you. You should have explained to him that he’s the only one you love. You should have told him you didn’t mean to hurt him. You were just worried that if you weren’t wanted by other guys, he wouldn’t want you either. You should have realised that you were being stupid, thinking stupid things and behaving even more so.
You should never have cheated on Junkyu. For quite a while you hadn’t intended to. Except when you started work as a DJ at one of the hottest nightclubs around town, things tend to happen. Especially when there’s a private function every other weekend, and leftover booze already paid for by the client gets shared among the staff. When you started working there, you managed to stay relatively sober at first. By the third private party, however, you had woken up the day after in somebody else’s bed. You had been so plastered, you didn’t even remember Jaehyuk taking your home.
◇ The Affair, Unintentional As It Was
Jaehyuk is hot, you had to admit that. And the youngster was really good at his job, which meant he could do those fancy things bartenders do just to show off, like flipping glasses in the air and juggling bottles, all while flirting with customers and fixing their drinks. Which meant he was a performer while being a bartender, and that only added to his hotness factor. He was also very much into you, which he had made clear from the first day you came to work. And although you had been very flattered at getting the attention of a younger man, you hadn’t meant to take things any further, even after you two had slept together.
And then it had happened again.
You hadn’t even been drunk. You had actually been stressing in your head for one whole day over what to get Junkyu for your upcoming anniversary and then, at work, some drunk had jumped up onto your DJ platform and managed to grope you before club security got to him. You had been shaken up by the incident and Jaehyuk had been so nice, giving you a drink to calm your nerves and offering to send you home after work. The two of you had talked during the drive and he had given you some good suggestions for Junkyu’s gift. When you arrived at your apartment, you had been the one to invite him up for a drink.
That time too, Junkyu had come to your house in the morning. He had seen Jaehyuk leaving and asked you about it, and you had lied. Although he looked at you somewhat suspiciously, he had believed you. You didn’t think much about it, until he had opened his mouth later when you were having breakfast together.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if you have something going on with that boy. I swear, those abs can really turn someone’s head.”
Amazed that he had even noticed, you had asked, “and exactly when and where would you have seen his abs?”
“Remember when your nightclub had that new year staff party and I came early with you to help? I happened to come out of the bathroom stall when he was changing his t-shirt.”
You had jokingly asked whether you should start getting worried about losing him to a guy and the two of you had laughed over that. But he had got you worried.
You had worried about being caught cheating on Junkyu with Jaehyuk. That you would get caught was inevitable: you always got caught. But the things you had done had always been one-time stuff. With people you had just met, or people you barely knew or had once known. You had never before been involved with a colleague, or a friend. And Jaehyuk was both. And you had worried whether that would be too much for Junkyu when he finally found out.
You quit your DJ job not long after he left. You couldn’t look at Jaehyuk and not be reminded that Junkyu was gone. Jaehyuk tried to make you stay, to forget Junkyu and be with him, but you stood by the decision you had made about your relationship that same day Junkyu last stood in your kitchen.
Late the night before, you had opened your door to the sound of the doorbell and an older man had stood there, struggling under Jaehyuk’s weight. You had taken Jaehyuk off the taxi ahjusshi, thanked him and put the tipsy Jaehyuk to bed. Of course you had ended up sleeping together yet again. But you had woken up very early in the morning, with an uneasy sense of foreboding. You couldn’t shake it off to go back to sleep, so you had gone into the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast.
You had sensed somebody watching you while you were pan-frying the second omelette. A shirtless Jaehyuk had been leaning against the kitchen counter watching you cook, all the while smiling that sweet smile of his. You had poured him a cup of coffee, and set down the omelette. In your head, you had been pondering how to broach the subject. When Jaehyuk had finished with his food and pushed his plate away to finish his coffee, you knew you couldn’t stall the matter any longer.
“Jaehyuk, I think we shouldn’t do this anymore.”
He had looked up from his cup, dismay all over his adorable face. “What are you talking about, noona?”
“I know you like me, but I don’t feel the same for you.”
“But noona...”
You had grabbed his plate and taken it to the sink. Standing there busying yourself with the washing, you had pondered your words carefully to try to be gentle. “I really hope you won’t make this difficult, Jaehyuk. We can still talk at work as usual. There’s just some things you have to stop doing. Like, you can’t just crash here whenever you feel like it. Like last night. And stop showing up at my door just because you’re ‘in the neighbourhood’. You don’t even live near here. You need to stop doing these things.”
You had flinched a little when you felt Jaehyuk’s arms snake around your waist. He had rested his cheek on your shoulder and whispered, “but noona, I don’t just like you. I love you.”
You had been struck speechless with the thought of causing him agony for that, but the feeling was fleeting. The moment to be gentle had passed. “That’s really too bad Jaehyuk, ‘cause I’ve never been serious with you.”
Jaehyuk had stiffened at your words. “No, noona, that can’t be. You feel something for me, I know you do.”
“Don’t kid yourself,” you scoffed. He had grabbed your shoulders and turned you around then, so that he could look you in the eyes, and that had been when you noticed the other person in the kitchen.
“________.” You become conscious that you’re staring into empty space. It’s almost as if you had really heard his voice. You look at the counter you have been absently wiping and see a few droplets of water among the crumbs. You raise one hand to your cheek: you don’t even realise you have been crying. You look back at the spot where Junkyu had stood two years ago, and more tears run down your cheeks. For two years you have held them away; two years of telling yourself he will be back, he always comes back. Two years of pretending nothing has gone wrong while your heart ached, burning with the emptiness of missing him. Two years of knowing you brought this on yourself and there’s no one else to blame. You couldn’t do this anymore. Just like two years ago, when Junkyu couldn’t deal with you anymore. You break down on the kitchen floor, sobbing uncontrollably, the crumbs on the counter forgotten.
◇ The Lesson, Learnt The Hard Way
Junkyu knows he had gone away for a long time. He couldn’t help but wonder: have you changed? Would you still remember him? Absence may make the heart grow fonder, but being out of sight might also result in being forgotten. He had been trying so hard to stay away, but it had been difficult, and the difficulty had not lessened with each day that passed.
Right now, he is home. It’s true he had ended things, or put them on hold the way he saw it, but deep down in his heart nothing has really changed. You still own his heart, completely and utterly. There’s nothing in the world that can destroy that, not even all your infidelities, and no amount of time will ever erase that fact. He stands in front of your apartment, the first time in two years, and hopes that the scene inside will not be like the last time. He reaches for the spare key in his pocket--he hadn’t returned it when he went away--and inserts the key in the lock.
You are sitting on the floor in the kitchen. Your eyes are dry now, you are silent. Your breathing is no longer wracked with sobs. You feel tired, like you haven’t slept in days. You grab at the kitchen stool near you to pull yourself up to stand, and that’s when you notice the other person in the kitchen.
You look at the man who is standing in the exact spot where Junkyu had stood two years ago. He seems so real. You’re not going to convince yourself he is, though, not this time. Just your imagination gone wild, you’re used to that now. But you do notice that he doesn’t look the same as how you always remember him. He looks… older somehow. He also looks lonely, well that hasn’t changed. He looks sad, that hasn’t changed either. No, despite these little differences you know he’s just a figment of your mind, brought up by your aching need to see him. You shake your head to vanquish the thought, and go to the sink to wash the rag you have been using to wipe the counter.
“_______.”
The voice startles you, you almost drop the rag. It’s almost as if you had really heard it. You continue to rinse the cloth. A part of you is telling you that the voice is real, but you couldn’t bring yourself to believe it. You have waited to hear that voice for two years. You’ve heard it so often in your mind, and you have always been disappointed. No, you tell yourself. No, it’s not real.
You flinch a little when you feel arms snake around your waist. A warm body against your back.
“_______, I’m home.” Warm breath against your neck.
You drop the rag this time. You twist around to face him, still in his arms. That baby face and smooth jawline. Unblemished clear skin. The thick dark hair you love so much. You reach up to touch his face. Warm skin under your hand. He smiles, pulls your hand to his lips and kisses your palm. You have voided your eyes of tears just a short while ago, yet they flow freely again in the joy of this moment.
You throw your arms around Junkyu’s neck and cries for the second time that day. He has come home.
Junkyu hugs you tightly and kisses your hair. His hand rubs soothing circles on your back. He is home.
All is forgiven once again.

“Hey Hwan, can we talk?” you say as you lightly grab your best friend of several year's wrist to stop him from going up the stairs to class.
“Oh, so now you want to talk?” He coughs out coldly.
“What?” you try your best to control your expression but you can’t help the hurt that briefly flashes in your eyes.
“Are you sure you’re not too busy with your guitar lessons with Jeongwoo? I don’t know, you two seemed really close. Maybe you should go talk to him.” he chides, yanking his wrist out of your grasp. At first, confusion and hurt clouds your mind, making it impossible for you to think about what could’ve made him act like this and then you remember.
“Junghwan… I-” you start to say but Junghwan cuts your explanation short, not wanting to hear about your lessons with Jeongwoo. It was painful enough for him to witness it but for you to tell him about it yourself, he thinks his heart would break in two.
“Forget it. I have to go to class and you should too.” he whispers low enough for you to barely hear him and then he’s gone up the stairs. In your 7 years of being best friends, he’s never acted so cold and distant towards you and now that he has, you never want it to happen again. His few words cut like ice, making you wonder if you did something wrong or if you would ever get a chance to explain yourself.
As the number of weeks since your encounter increases, so does the number of days it’s been since Junghwan last spoke to you. Having been friends for so long, you’ve never gone more than 3 days without talking to him so these weeks have felt like a lifetime of torture. Little do you know, it’s been torture for Junghwan as well. He had finally worked up the courage to tell you how he feels and then he sees you laughing and cuddling up to Jeongwoo? Everyone had convinced him that you liked him back and didn’t just view him as a friend but suddenly, all those words of encouragement turned into lies. How could you view him as more than just a friend if you liked Jeongwoo? He knew he had to get over you and the only way for him to do that was to avoid you at all costs. If he saw your beaming smile or heard the laugh that was music to his ears, he wouldn’t be able to let you go. So he tried his best but all he ended up doing was hurting you and himself in the end.
my y/niee~ ❤️‍🩹 can we talk? Read 5:56 pm please? Read 5:56 pm just meet me at our spot on the playground where we first met Read 5:57 pm
hwaniee~ 💟🐶 ok.  Read 5:58 pm
When Junghwan sees you, his heart sinks. You have the hood of (his) sweatshirt that you’re wearing pulled over your head to hide your face but he can still see the redness of your cheeks and how your eyes are puffy from crying. All he wants to do is pull you into a hug and apologize but he can’t because if he does, he’ll fall right back into the routine of loving you.
Feeling someone approach you, you look up from your seat on the floor of the playground where you and Junghwan first met all those years ago.
“Junghwan?” you ask into the darkness, only seeing a figure that shares a familiar outline with your best friend. The figure steps into the light from the streetlamps surrounding the playground, revealing themself to be your best friend who is also in the same disheveled state as you.
“Yeah, it’s me. Don’t worry.” His voice cracks a little as it tries to hold back all of the different emotions he feels. You gesture for him and he walks over to take a seat next to you. Once he sits down, both of you start to speak at the same time.
“You go first.” He says, motioning for you to continue what you were about to say.
“No, it’s okay. You can go first.” You whisper awkwardly before you squeak out a small laugh.
“What? Why are you laughing?” He questions but still starts to laugh along with you.
“It's nothing... We’ve just never been this awkward before. It’s kind of funny.” You say as you burst into a full on laugh that’s immediately followed by the sound of Junghwan’s. Once the laughter dies down, you know you have to explain yourself before the tears start to fall again.
“Junghwan… I-”
He cuts you off again, but this time, there’s no anger behind it, only remorse. “No, it’s okay. You don’t have to explain yourself.”
“But I do!” You exclaim, turning away from him to hide your face. “I can’t let you think something that’s not true! When you saw me and Jeongwoo together, he was teaching me the guitar. That part’s true, but it wasn’t because I wanted to get closer to him. We were together because I asked him to help me learn a song on the guitar, a song that was supposed to be a surprise for your birthday. Jeongwoo is only a friend who was helping another friend in need.” You turn back to look at him and see his eyes, full of regret. “The idea that you think I like someone else is tearing me up inside because you’re the one I like, Junghwan. It’s always been you.” You cry out, face full of tears.
“Oh, Y/n. I am so sorry for making you upset. I saw you two laughing together and the thought that maybe you didn’t like me filled my mind.” He sighs and runs his hands through his long, brown hair. “I had finally worked up the courage to tell you how I felt after like 7 years and then I saw you with Jeongwoo and my whole world came crashing down. I avoided you because I knew that in order for me to be happy, I would have to let you go.  I am so sorry, Y/N… for everything. For making you cry and for making you think anything other than the truth, which is that I really, really like you. It’s always been you. From day one until now. I’ve never stopped.” he says, wrapping you in a hug. “Are you cold?” he asks, pulling away slightly to look at your face.
Through chattering teeth, you admit, “Just a little bit.” Junghwan laughs but still takes off his coat and places it on your shoulders to protect you from the cold. He offers you a hand to help you up from the floor and never lets go. Not on your walk home, not once you both entered your house and sat on the couch, and not for the rest of the night. You were finally together and he had absolutely no plans to leave.

"Damn, this house is really nice." Whose house, you may ask? Hopefully, your future employer's. You recently started college and have been looking for a pretty lenient job, and that's how you got here. A man, not much older than you, named Yoshinori needed a house-sitter. So here you were, about to enter for an interview. "You got this, y/n. You'll be fine." You press the doorbell. "One second! Sorry~" A sweet melodic voice tweets from behind the door. "Hello, come on in!" Appearing is one of the most gorgeous faces you've ever seen in your life. Long brown hair, shiny soft eyes, high strong nose bridge, a bright smile, and a pretty mole underneath his mouth to pair with it.
"Can I get you anything to drink?" "Just water is fine, thank you." He leads you to sit down on the couch in his living room, which is quite cozy, with a light brown sectional, a wooden and glass coffee table positioned in front of a flat-screen TV and front window. He comes back quickly with a glass of ice water with a cute curly straw. "Sorry, how rude of me. I haven't introduced myself. My name is Kanemoto Yoshinori, and you?" "Y/n, nice to meet you, Mr. Kanemoto." "Oh, please just call me Yoshi…" He chuckles nervously and rubs his neck. "Alright, nice to meet you, Yoshi."
You soon find out that he's looking for a house-sitter because he frequently works long hours throughout the week. "I just need you to do basic tasks like making sure all the plants are watered, the fish are fed enough, and that dust doesn't collect." Simple enough, it pays really well, considering those are your only major tasks. "Also, you would get weekends off. That's when I'm at home. My son Jeongwoo comes to visit me, he lives with his grandparents during the week." SON!? You had to refrain from letting your jaw drop, but you can't help but be shocked, as Yoshi only looked at most 4 years older than you. "Oh ok, well if that's all, I'd be happy to house sit for you, Yoshi!" "REALLY? Oh, I mean—ahem—really? Thank you so much!" You can't believe this man has a child; he acts so innocently. You swear you saw stars in his eyes when you accepted his offer. "Let's discuss more in-depth about payment and schedule, hmm?" "Sounds perfect to me."
You ended up spending two hours with him, chatting not only about your new job but each other's personal lives as well. You learned he's a music producer for a very big entertainment company, he has to be there for long hours due to the number of songs he has to make for many different artists. You learned he went to the same university you're currently attending and he graduated just last year. He gave you pointers on all the best spots to make friends and eat. You told him about how you plan to major in Linguistics and he was ecstatic, being a polyglot himself.
The most notable thing is that of his son, a 3-year-old named Jeongwoo, he says he's very timid but well-mannered and caring. Although there was no mention of Jeongwoo's mother and it seemed like he was purposefully so, you decided not to pry. "What an intriguing man…" It was Saturday, you had two days before you start this job. "Why do I already want to start now?" Laying down, looking at your ceiling, you can't help but let your mind wander. Checking the time, you realize if you want to get everything together by Sunday night, you have to head to bed now. "Goodnight, Yoshi. Please take care of me in the future."
Tumblr media
"Daddy, how come I have to eat my salad if you haven't touched any of yours?" "Huh—" Yoshi looks down to realize he's barely eaten. "Oh, you're right, bud. It's not fair. Sorry, daddy will finish all his salad." He stuffs a bite into his mouth. "See, mmm yummy, now you have to as well, ok?" "Ok, daddy!" "Good boy." He couldn't stop thinking about earlier today. A pretty young girl like you wanted to get paid to do boring tasks around his house and just make sure nobody breaks in. You didn't even question too much about him and his son and seemed to be open-minded about it. This was something he surely wasn't used to. He couldn't place what, but it felt like you had bewitched him, all his thoughts were filled with you. It's a little weird because he just met you and you're just some 19-year-old looking to make some easy money. "I really should've gotten out more in college, not like I had much of a choice…" Creak "Daddy, you look sleepy, can we sleep together tonight?" As much as he feels he's missed out, he loves his kid so much. "Sure, buddy, let's clean up dinner first." "Ok!" He watches the little boy scurry with all the plates into the kitchen excitedly. "Be careful, slow down!"
"How come I never get to visit mommy?" Jeongwoo asks his father. Yoshi is a little taken aback. How could he tell his little boy that his mommy left them? "Well, you see, mommy lives very far, and it's not easy for you to visit her." "How far? Does she live all the way across the ocean?" "Yes, all the way across the ocean." "Can't we just take a plane?" "Planes are expensive, bud." "Can we do it once, when I have a holiday?" He adores his son so much, his persistence and curiosity is one of his favorite parts of being a parent. He can't believe that anyone could just leave such an amazing kid behind. "I'll see what we can do, buddy, but I don't know if mommy is going to be willing."
"Why?" His heart pains, he asks himself the same thing, why? He thought they were perfect together and that everything was going to be perfect just the three of them, but she left. "Mommy needs time. She's been through a lot." "Ok…" He can tell his son is no longer as bright as before, and it hurts just as much as he thought. "Hey, don't frown, daddy doesn't like when you frown. How about I sing you a lullaby tonight, hm?" The little boy eagerly nods his head in agreement. Before Yoshi can even finish the song, the little one is off to sleep, and he rests a peck on his forehead.
Your first day of house-sitting was a breath of fresh air after a hard day at school. You had a project in your semantics class. You were partnered up with a boy in your class named Doyoung. He's cool and all, but he talks a LOT, and consequently, not a lot of work got done. The house, thankfully for you, seemed to be in good shape. You went about your duties with care, watering the plants, feeding the fish, and dusting the surfaces. "Well, that was easy. Maybe I should look around the house, and maybe find a bathroom while I'm at it." While exploring, you came across a child's bedroom. There was a tiny kid's doctor's kit, music sheets along with a kid's recorder, and a drawing of the house, a man who you assumed was Yoshi, and a tiny kid you could only assume was Jeongwoo. It brought a little bit of warmth to your heart. You thought it would be nice to tidy up the room a bit, so you put everything in its designated spot and close the door. You could tell Jeongwoo was just as nice as Yoshi had described, and you could tell he cares for his son a lot.
There's another bedroom directly opposite the one you recently exited. It was most definitely Yoshi's. You could smell the subtle scent of a nice clean cologne emanating from the room. You decided it would be best not to enter there without permission. You eventually found the bathroom as well, but afterward, your stomach made an incomprehensible rumble. You ventured into Yoshi's kitchen, finding some basic ingredients for an omelet and toast. After a bit of whisking, chopping, frying, and toasting, you had a simple, wholesome meal ready. You took a bite and started to get out your computer when you suddenly hear the front door unlock.
"Ahhhh, where is it? I swear I left it right here. Oh—" You are confronted with a very disheveled Yoshi. Even then, he still looked as gorgeous as before. His eyes were like the ocean. "Hi, Y/N. Sorry to startle you." "It's fine. It is your house, after all." He has a look of surprise on his face mirrored by your own. "I had forgotten some lyrics I was working on last night." He chuckles, and the vibrations send a tingling feeling throughout your body.
"You didn't happen to see them lying around, did you?" "Uhhh, I don't think so. I'm sorry." "No, no, it's totally okay. I'll find them." A little less frazzled, he finally smells the food you made. "Oh, I made an omelet and toast from some food you had in the fridge. I hope that's okay." "Yeah, that's fine. I'm sorry for interrupting you. You can go back to eating if you want." You can tell he may need some help, but you appreciate him trying to be considerate. "Let me help you out. I finished pretty much all the tasks you gave me, so I can put off eating for a little longer. What did you say those lyrics looked like?" "It’s just a filing folder with lined pieces of paper. They should still be somewhere here in the living room," Yoshi explains, gratefully accepting your offer.
Together, you start searching by the coffee table, flipping through various magazines and yesterday's mail, to no avail. Yoshi checks the nearby shelves and cabinets, his brows furrowing in concentration. You can't help but steal glances at him, the way his hair frames his face, the smell of his perfume hitting your senses every time he slightly passes by. The moment is intimate but not uncomfortable. You both continue to work diligently to find his paper, and for some reason, you have a sense of responsibility for making sure the papers return to their rightful owner.
After about 30 mins of non-stop scouring, Yoshi lets out a small sigh of frustration, running a hand through his hair. "I could've sworn I left them here." You glance around the living room one last time when your eyes land on a small stack of papers slid underneath the couch. You reach for them, pulling them out. "Are these the ones you're looking for?" Yoshi turns to look at you, a sparkle flickers in his sweet eyes. He quickly moves over, taking the papers from your hands and flips through them, "Yes, these are it! Thank you, Y/N." “I'm glad I could help, Yoshi." You felt almost like you were more relieved than he was. But it didn’t matter all that mattered has the smile radiating from his face. He chuckles, shaking his head. "No, seriously. If you weren’t here who knows how long it would’ve took. My boss isn’t the most patient to say the least." “Oh trust me I know how that feels.” At that, you both laugh, the tension from before completely dissipated. It's a nice moment, one that makes you look forward to continuing to house sit for Yoshi.
Yoshi, having found the missing lyrics, quickly gathered his things, thanking you once again before hurrying out the door. Left alone in the quiet house, you turned back to your half-eaten omelet, the cool air making it lukewarm. It wasn’t too bad thought so you finished your meal, finding comfort in the cozy home. After cleaning up your mess you pulled out your laptop and opened up the project you had been working on with Doyoung. Working through the project was a challenge, primarily due to the fact you had to work through what pieces of information he told you were actually relevant. You check through the little notes you guys actually got down and come up with an actually solid thesis.
After a few texts back and forth you and Doyoung managed to make significant progress, feeling a sense of accomplishment as she you finally closed your laptop. In that moment the sun was starting to set, you did one last look around the house, making sure that everything looked just as intended. As you locked the front door behind you, you found yourself looking back on the day of house-sitting. Anticipating what the week would look like. The walk back was refreshing albeit a little lonesome, you didn’t know why, but you suspect it was because of him.
The first week of the job was full of getting accustomed to the new environment. The house, despite its larger size, had a warm feeling that made you easily unwind. You found yourself settling into a comfortable routine, taking care of the house and its inhabitants (fish included) with vigor. Yoshi, despite being absorbed with his work, made sure to check in with you throughout the week. He’d call or text asking if you needed anything and if you were feeling comfortable.
One day, when you mentioned that you had forgotten to bring lunch, he knew the fridge was empty so he surprised you by dropping of some food from the grocery store right quick. “Oh Yoshi you didn’t have too, I could’ve gotten something delivered right quick.” “It’s ok I was on my lunch break as well anyways.” It was a small act, but it spoke volumes about his thoughtful nature. There were other little gestures throughout the week as well. But the most memorable was when you came in on Friday with a note left on the fridge, 'Thank you for everything Y/N, have a nice weekend ;)' written in Yoshi's neat handwriting. The small gestures also made your heart flutter, you found that you had to remind yourself that he is probably this nice to everyone. That didn’t stop your mind from being filled with constant thought of him.
Tumblr media
“I mean you never know until you shoot your shot.”, Doyoung brazenly comments. "You play too much Dobby. He's just being nice, plus he's my boss," you get really defensive, however you’re not able to hide the blush creeping up to your cheeks. "And besides, he has a kid! I don’t know if he’s looking for that all, especially not from me." "Hey, all I'm saying is that the option is clearly available. And you can’t assume his feelings, positive or negative.” He smirks before taking another sip of his boba and continuing to work on your shared project. "Whatever Doyoung..." You roll your eyes at him, your voice trailing off.
Despite what you said, you can't help but acknowledge some truth in his words. Could there be a chance that your feelings for Yoshi weren't unrequited? You haven’t known him long but your thoughts were consumed by the image of him, even when you weren't at his house. His smile, his voice, his scent - they were all you hand on your mind these past few days. You shake your head, trying to clear those thoughts for now. "Doyoung, let's just focus on our project." He raises his brow at the comment but nods, turning his attention back to the work at hand. You try to do the same, but your mind keeps wandering back to Yoshi and the strange, yet warm, feelings that have started to bloom in your heart.
Every corner of Yoshi's house seems to leave an imprint of him. His music sheets scattered scross the coffee table, the doodles of him and Jeongwoo with little captions left on the fridge, the sandwiches left in the fridge for you in case you got hungry. You've gotten adjusted to his routine as well. You know when he gets off for lunch, what days he gets off early, his favorite snacks, and even his favorite songs and TV shows. He's your employer, but he treats you more as a friend, throughout the past few weeks you’ve been working for him you can’t help but feel like you’re relationship is a little more special than that of employer and employee. You can't help but wonder if this is how it always is for him, or if there's something more behind it. “Hey Y/N I have a favor to ask.” “Yeah sure Yoshi what is it?” It’s been about a month now you’ve started to eat dinner with Yoshi when he gets off early, tonight you decided on some chicken katsu, Yoshi was feeling a little homesick. “I was wondering if you’d like to meet Jeongwoo and if that goes well baby sit him this weekend? You’d get paid extra of course…”
Your eyes light up, “Really? I’d love to meet Jeongwoo!” He laughs, that laugh you have come to adore, “Yeah, my parents wanted to go on a day trip but I’m still going to have work that day so I’d need you to watch him till I get home.” “Sounds great to me!” You guys decided on which day this weekend you were going to plan to have you and Jeongwoo meet as well as what would be expected when you watch him the day Yoshi’s gone of course. You couldn’t believe it that Yoshi felt like he could trust you with something as important as this. Jeongwoo was his everything you could tell just from the way he spoke about his little one.
“Dude if you don’t ask him out already,” Doyoung wastes no time. After that project at the beginning of the semester the two of you quickly became best friends. “Oh my god bruh, shut up. Although…” “See I told you, you need to just start openly flirting and see how he reacts at this point because I don’t know anyone else who regularly eats dinner with their boss who also now wants them to meet his kid.” Doyoung has gotten more persistent in telling you to ask Yoshi out. “I just don’t know Dobby what if he doesn’t see me that way. Ugh, I don’t think I could handle that right now.” You were never this bad with rejection in the past but with Yoshi it’s different he’s perfect, he’s your shooting star. “If you wanna keep suffering from one-sided love that’s on you, I’ve already told you what I think. Now can we please finish looking over this textbook section I’m not tryna bomb this test tomorrow.” You sigh and agree, even when your friend ends up falling asleep on call you circle back on his advice. He’s right you’ll never know unless you try, and you decide you’re goal is after baby sitting Jeongwoo to ask him out.
Tumblr media
You were back to the beginning standing on Yoshi’s doorstep prepping yourself to push the doorbell, this time you heart raced with more anticipation than before. Having spent the past month and a half house-sitting for Yoshi was nothing when you consider that you were meeti g your boss’, you have a crush on, kid. “Hi Y/n, Jeongwoo is in the living room right now playing come on in!”As you walk into the familiar room you find Jeongwoo playing with his toys just as Yoshi said he was, he had a big toothy grin on his face and innocence in his eyes. “Hey buddy I got someone I want you to meet.” His gaze drawn to his fathers voice. He gets up hiding behind his dads leg as he studies your expression. “Jeongwoo this is Y/N she’s daddy’s friend. Introduce yourself.” He’s reluctant, “Hello Y/n I’m Jeongwoo.” you chuckled softly, he was so cute and resembled his father a lot. "Nice to meet you Jeongwoo. Is it ok if I play with you?” Jeongwoo looks to his dad for approval, once Yoshi gives an affirming nod, his smile slowly started to return, “Ok!” And you follow the little boy to sit down and play with the doctors kit you had put away many times before.
As Yoshi observed your interactions with Jeongwoo, he felt a storm of emotions. Watching you playing with his precious little one, seeing the genuine care and warmth in you had for him, Yoshi felt his heart twist and turn. Yoshi found himself lost in thought, reflecting on thesmall time you had spent together but noting just how comfortable and natural it felt. "Dad, look at this!" Jeongwoo's excited voice brought Yoshi back to the present, to show him a drawing you had help him make. “This is lovely bud, I’m gonna hang up right here ok?” “Ok, and Y/n helped so you should thank her too.” The look in his eyes being filled with sincerity, ”Thank you Y/N””Anytime Yoshi.” In that moment it became abundantly clear to Yoshi that his feelings for you were stronger than friendship or gratitude. He was in love with you.
Your first meeting with Jeongwoo was successful and you were set to babysit him this Thursday. And with Yoshi’s realization he was growing even more anxious. The last time he let someone into his life, the last time he loved someone, they left. Without a traces Jeongwoo’s mom left him, with only a note saying, “I’m sorry Yoshi. This is goodbye, take care of Jeongwoo for me. -XXX” What if you did the same, Jeongwoo wasn’t old enough to be affected when his mom lleft but if you left now… He hoped you wouldn’t, you were the best thing that’s happened to him a long a time. And Jeongwoo already loves you just as much as he did. “Please don’t leave me…” Is the last thing he mumbles softly, before drifting off to sleep.
Today is the long awaited day, arriving at Yoshi’s house around your usual time you enter. Before the boys get home you decided to clean up a bit, not neglecting the duties you were originally hired for, and as you finish up you hear a tiny footsteps from the front door. “Jeongwoo take of your shoes please before you—” “Y/N!” Before you have time to react the tiny boy has already jumped into your arms. “Jeongwoo~, ahh you’ve gotten so big since I last saw you.” “REALLY?” You try to respond right away but he sounded exactly like his dad on that first day you teo met and it instantly melted your heart. “Yes bubba! Now lets go take off your shoes and get ready to say bye-bye to your dad ok?” While directing him back to the front door you and Yoshi exchange a glance.
It was a glance of passion, of admiration, of love? You didn’t have to much time to think about it before Yoshi had to get going, ‘I should be back by around 7, have fun you two.” “Ok we will, Jeongwoo say bye.” “Bye Daddy~” They exchanged a embrace with kiss on the cheek and before you knew it he was gone. You and Jeongwoo started off with homework (which in pre k is addition, abc’s, and maybe some coloring sheets) which you knocked out quickly. After that you guys play for a while, you pretended to be his patient, “Oh no Dr. Jeongwoo will I be ok?” “Yes, it’s just a broken leg you’ll feel better soon. Your medicine is a cast and a nice big hug!” “Thank you so much Doctor.” Before you knew it it was dinnertime, hanging out with Jeongwoo has been so much fun that you didn’t even realize it was almost 7:30.
“Hey bubba I don’t know why your dad is late but I think it’s time to get ready for bed.” “Awww…” He gives you the cutest little pout just like Yoshi when you tell him you have to go. “I know but we can play more tomorrow if you really want to ok?” He nods. You then get him ready for bed and he goes to sleep without issues, but not it’s almost 8 and you’re really worried about Yoshi. Why is he late, did he get stuck in traffic, is he safe, did something happen at work? Until the front door opens in coming a very tired Yoshi. “Sorry I’m late there was a really bad accident on the freeway. How did everything go.” You didn’t care if it seemed inappropriate in that moment you were overcome with relief.
You hugged him a tight one at that, “I was so worried.” He doesn’t know how to react, you were worried about him? He accepts the hug, “I’m Sorry, next time I’ll tell you when something like that happens, I promise.” You step back allowing yourself to get a good view of his face and him of yours. Something is different tonight you can feel it. “Hey, do you wanna drink a beer with me? I’m assuming you put Jeongwoo to bed and are a little tired?” You chuckle at his suggestion as his cheeks turn slightly rosy. After cracking open the case of beers you guys sit and talk, Yoshi brings up that Jeongwoo likes you. “He couldn’t stop talking about you—” “Oh really?” “Yeah… and neither could I.” This time when your eyes meet you both see each other feelings very clearly now. “I can’t stop thinking about you, I need you, I wan’t you, shit I think…I love you.”
Tumblr media
In seconds your lips are crashed together, his hands navigating towards your waist as you both sink into the couch, “I need you so badly.” “Me too,” you gasp during the fight between your tongues. Your lips swollen mouth going numb from the intensity, “Are you sure you want this?” Yoshi asks breaking the two of you apart, “I’ve never wanted anything more than I want you right now Yoshi.” A low groan echoed from his lips, he quickly removes his shirt and helps you rid of yours. After, immediately reconnecting your wet lips together, teeth and lips and tongues clashing against one another as the space between you continued to decrease. He starts to trail down your neck, leaving small kisses scattered across your plush skin. “You’re so gorgeous,” he murmured against your chest, nipping lightly at your skin and leaving fluttering kisses across your torso. “So, beautiful baby.”
You are startled when his skillful hands undo the clasp of your bra, hastily tossing it to the side. His touch on your skin felt like burning bruises. You were melting at his touch and his scent overwhelmed your senses. “Yoshi,” you whimpered, clinging to him like he was going to ruin away, “I need you…now.” “Yeah?” He started to unbutton your pants, sliding them down your legs and throwing them with the rest of your clothes. His followed soon after. He teased you pulling at the hem of your underwear. “Love, do you really want this?”, he asks a final time before continuing. You nod, “As cute as your facial expressions are, I need words babe.” It’s a little late to be embarrassed now isn’t it, “Yes. Yoshinori please make love to me.” He smirked at you, that’s all he needed to hear. He quickly dealt with your underwear and proceeded to settle in between your legs. Letting them fall naturally over his shoulders. “I think that’s something I can definitely do.”
He kissed up your thighs, biting gently and leaving faint marks over the bare skin. You shuddered with every pressed kiss. The one on your clit giving you an instant of pleasure and relief where you needed him most. “You ready baby?” That melodic voice and glowing eyes you fell in love with looking for your approval once again yet this this time filled with lust. You were tired of holding back. You nod giving him the go ahead and he waste no time burying his face between your legs, licking a slow stripe over your entrance, “You smell and taste so good baby. You’re so perfect love.”
You could only hum in response, the way his tongue and his lips felt against your body had your mind running laps. Threading your fingers through his hair and pushed his face harder against you, he couldn’t help but letting his groans reverberate off you. Your orgasm was climbing up faster than you anticipated. You hadn’t had sex in a while so you knew it was gonna feel good but not this good. “Wait, Yo-Yoshi,” you managed to moan out, pushing his face away from you. He looked up at you, your arousal dripping from his chin. Did he do something wrong? Did you change your mind? “I need you inside…I wanna cum with you…”
He chuckles with a grin forming on his face once again leaning in to give you another passionate sloppy kiss. “Let me see…” He goes over checking in the TV stand for some condoms to no avail. “Shit…Love i’m sorry I—” You grab his arm and face him towards you, shutting him up with a kiss before speaking again, “Im clean and on the pill. I wanted you raw anyways baby.” Hearing how badly you wanted him as much as he wanted you put him at ease. He finally releases his dick from his boxers painfully hard and covered in pre cum. “Are you ready?” He asked softly lining up with your entrance, caressing your hair out of your faces gently. That look of care as if you were going to break with his touch. “I’m so ready.”
You squeezed his shoulders and gasped softly, trying not to make too much noise as he slowly bottomed out. It’s unlikely you’ll wake Jeongwoo considering he’s all the way upstairs but it’s better to be safe than sorry. He lets out a disheveled moan into your ears, hands gripping your hips hard enough to leave bruises in the morning. “Fuck, you’re so tight.” Yoshi groaned quietly, his breathing heavy as he let’s you adjust to his size. “Move. Please…” you finally whimper, “Please… I need you.” His pace was slow to start, thrusting fully in and out of you making sure to feel every inch of you. Your lips locked together as to hide the lewd noises that threatened to escape at any moment. God you were so beautiful all he could do was whisper sweet nothings to you.
“I really love you, Y/N,” he moaned, “I don’t know the last time I loved someone as much as you.” “I love you too. So much,” you whined out, coming closer to your climax your vision became less and less focused, “Yoshi—Baby—I’m so close right there—mmm” Watching how good you felt and feeling how well you were milking him all he could do was agree. “Me too, baby, cum with me.” You nodded quickly, whines escape your lips from the overwhelming passion in your core. His pace started to stagger, “Fuck, I’m coming, baby.” Circling your clit the two of you came together. He held you closer to him as he released into you. You’re both out of breath, “Y/n…” suddenly his eyes are back to the Yoshi you know. “Yeah baby?”, looking at him you can’t help but fall in love all over again. “Please don’t leave me…I don’t know what I would do, what Jeongwoo would do if you left us now. Just stay with me ok, not just tonight but every night please?” “Oh Yoshi, how could I ever leave you.” You give him a quick peck on his sweaty forehead before reassuring him that you love him.
You end up laying there for a while before you both get up to do aftercare and cuddle in bed. You weren’t sure how things turned out this way exactly, or how you would explain it in the future but that didn’t matter to you right now. All you needed in that moment was each other and that was enough.

BS: The Return of Superman, Episode 3 “I Think I Love You ” Part 2.
LM: This condo is absolutely breathtaking. The simple black and whites give off the vibe of modern minimalist layout. Once we pull back the floor to ceiling curtains the high ceilings warm up the space by revealing various artwork once hidden in shadow.
The living room is impeccably clean, for a second your daughter, Luna, is shown laying on her stomach adjacent to her younger brother Minho. The two take turns patting away at the foot of a massive teddy bear they received from their uncle Seungkwan.
BM: Ahh! I know who this is.
LM: Really? I haven’t been able to guess because I’ve been so busy admiring the artwork, it looks like Superman is either an art collector or a painter.
The camera captures how the kitchen perfectly overlooks the living room. Such a small detail can make a world of difference when you’re taking care of children. Zooming in closer towards the opened kitchen the audience sees a pair of hands chopping away on the counter top not going past the wrist level.
“What gift should we give Jeongwoo?” a voice asked before transferring the chopped carrots and onions into a bowl.
“Traditionally speaking clothes and Money should be fine. We’re not part of the intermediate family so we can avoid things like gold.” A second lower voice could be heard off screen, the camera capturing him boiling a pot of water.
“Sounds perfect,”she agrees before placing her used knife and cutting board into the sink as she adds, “I’ll stop by the bank on the way home.” She places her apron on a hook inside their pantry door. Dusting off herself from the ingredients she prepared for her husband to cook while she’s gone. “Are you sure you’ll be okay with them?”
“I promise, now go enjoy spending time with your friends. It’s about time you get a break.” A smile of adoration appears on his face before he leans down to give him a kiss just as the cameras pull up to show their face.
BS: Welcome Seventeen’s kind lead dancer and renowned painter Xu Minghao and renowned makeup artist Y/L/N Y/N. Hyung and Noona I missed seeing you!
LM: Myungho! What a sweet husband.
“Hyungsik might stop by, he said Luna left her project that’s due tomorrow at his house.” Y/N continued as she puts on her shoes in the foyer.
“Okay, I’ll keep an eye on the door camera.”
“See you later babies, I love you.” She calls to her kids with warmth in her voice after kissing her husband on the cheek.
Luna is heard yelling from the living room, “Bye mom, I’ll take care of bàba and didi while you’re gone.”
“That’s my girl. I’m so lucky to have you as my daughter.”
Tumblr media
“Hello I’m Seo Myungho better known as Xu Minghao. I am one of Seventeen’s artists. I’m also more proudly known as Luna and Mingyue father.”
“Hi. I’m Y/L/N-Park Luna. I’m five years old. I have a baby brother name Ming Yue. I want to become a artist like my bàba.
“My name is Y/N Y/L/N, I’m a professional make up artist by trade and a passionate skincare business owner. Im also the mother of these beautiful babies. Thank you for inviting our family onto this show I’m a huge fan so this is a dream come true.”
How did you meet?
“I was doing some solo promotions while our Korean members were in the military. Originally I had a makeup artist through PLEDIS but she was about to go on maternity leave. I asked around my friends if they knew anyone that would be willing to take a temporary position. Dokyeom’s wife got in contact with me and relayed how great Y/N was.”
“I worked with Dokyeom doing stage makeup for musical theater since he played King Arthur. I got a message from Lee Y/N asking about Myungho and I immediately said yes. We’ve met before in passing and with other people so I took it as an opportunity for a better introduction.”
“She did quite the job helping with my appearance but also helped calm my nerves when I performed on different stages. Without that introduction I don’t think we would’ve found love the way we did.”
When did you realize you wanted to introduce Myungho to Luna?
“It was pretty early on. I was very upfront about having recently gone through a divorce. Being the amazing man he is, Myungho knew Luna was first priority and wasn’t scared of that.”
“If it were up to me I would’ve met her as soon as we started going out together but, I knew how delicate their situation was, especially because they were figuring out the custody arrangements.”
“Ultimately they did meet in person after 2 years. He was amazing at soothing my concerns and ultimately made me realize that he was in this relationship for the long haul.”
“We officially dated after that, got married and had Mingyue this year.”
What has co-parenting been like for you?
“It’s the best thing I could’ve asked for. I’ve always loved the idea of having a kid and Luna really made me enjoy that even more. I love seeing her grow and figure out who she is. At the end of the day on paper she may not be my biological daughter but in my eyes she will always be my little girl. I have Hyungsik Hyung and Y/N to thank for that.”
“Hyungsik and I much to people’s disbelief ended things on good terms. Now that we’re both remarried I hope that people show us respect for our blended family. I can’t speak for him but I know he’s really thankful for Myungho being another amazing father figure in Luna’s life. I’m so thankful that even when disagreements occur that they look past that because of their love for Luna.”
Do you have any messages for our viewers?
“I know netizens have had their misconceptions of who I am and the relationships I’ve had. I don’t blame them I hope through this show however, they’re able to rewrite their perceptions of myself and my family.”
“Y/N is an amazing mother and partner. To see how the media has manipulated this to benefit their own interests has been something we’ve been trying to fight against. I’m so grateful for the support given to us from my members, carats, Y/N’s fans, and our families for being so supportive during this time. Without you guys I don’t think we would’ve had the courage to share our love story to the public. My goal for our time on this show is to heal from the damages inflicted onto us in the past and expose our viewers to our family dynamic. Ultimately if we help even a single person to become open to blended families like ours I can proudly say that we’ve done our job.”

Tumblr media
pairing: park jeongwoo x reader (f)
word count: 8.3k
genre: angst, adventure, slowburn.
warnings: violence, death, toxic relationships, mention of kidnapping.
synopsis: jeongwoo embarked on a quest to prove himself to his father, blackbeard, by attempting to kill his nemesis, whitebeard. however, he was unaware that whitebeard's true identity would completely alter his path.
author's note: after two years since my last update, i'm back! i wrote this fanfiction some months ago and decided to post it now since the reboot is coming (i'm so excited!). i think of this as a origin story for pirate jeongwoo hehe. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did!
author's inspirations: show - our flag means death (max). song - i bet on losing dogs (mitski)
Tumblr media
Jeongwoo had finally accomplished it. After years of meticulous research, tracking ships in secret, studying combat skills, habits, and victims, he had gathered almost all the information he needed to defeat Whitebeard, one of the most notorious pirates of the sea. This was his chance to avenge his father and prove himself once and for all.
As the son of Blackbeard, the infamous pirate, Jeongwoo had grown up in a world of ruthlessness and violence. Blackbeard had collected countless enemies and was feared by even the most dangerous pirates. However, when a new pirate named Whitebeard emerged in the Caribbean, he became Blackbeard's worst enemy, taunting him with his name. Determined to confront the newcomer, Blackbeard engaged in a battle at sea.
During the fight, Blackbeard's crew seemed to have the upper hand, but Whitebeard's intelligence and strategic prowess turned the tide. They damaged Blackbeard's ship, disabled his strongest crew members, including Blackbeard himself, and plundered all the treasure. Whitebeard, however, never showed his face or set foot on their ship, maintaining a mysterious identity. Many believed he suffered from a terrible disease that prevented him from engaging in direct combat. Now, Jeongwoo was about to uncover the truth.
Under the guise of trading treasure on a nearby island, Jeongwoo secretly planned his move. He knew that Whitebeard's crew frequently replenished their supplies on a small island to the east. After carefully avoiding attention and hiding in the island's woods for several days, he spotted a large ship docking on the beach. Observing from a distance, he became certain that it was Whitebeard's ship.
Waiting for most of the crew to disembark, Jeongwoo infiltrated the ship, incapacitating anyone who stood in his way. He intended to execute a silent assassination, killing the captain and escaping and leaving behind a letter signed by himself. Jeongwoo was confident that Whitebeard, who never left his room, would be there. However, as he cautiously opened the door, he discovered an empty room, devoid of any presence.
"Where could he be hiding?" Jeongwoo whispered to himself, feeling a mix of relief and unease. This was the moment he had prepared for all his life, yet something felt off.
He scanned the room, filled with disarray—clothes, medicine, and books scattered around. A large world map adorned one wall, while a plush bed covered in fabrics and blankets dominated the center. Suddenly, he noticed a slight movement coming from beneath the blankets—a rhythmic rise and fall. There was no doubt about it; Whitebeard was concealed there.
Jeongwoo steadied his weapon, standing before the bed, prepared to end the man's life. However, a strange feeling compelled him to see the face of his father's greatest adversary before delivering the fatal blow. With trembling hands, he slowly pulled back the blanket, but the sight that greeted him was unexpected.
Instead of Whitebeard, he found a young woman with white hair, dressed in a beige satin dress with long sleeves. The boy was momentarily paralyzed by the sight before him. This innocent girl had been mistaken for the fearsome pirate captain.
"A girl?" he murmured to himself, unintentionally waking you from your slumber. Your eyes opened slowly, leaving him with no chance to hide within the cabin.
"Hello," you greeted, your voice filled with sleepiness.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Jeongwoo asked, his voice filled with surprise, unable to comprehend the calmness in your demeanor despite the danger you were in.
"You seem nervous." you remarked, observing his reaction. “My name is Y/N.”
"I came here for Whitebeard." Jeongwoo stated, trying to make sense of the situation.
A faint smile graced your lips. "Well, then you found him. I'm Whitebeard."
Jeongwoo's heart pounded in his chest as he processed the unexpected revelation before him. The girl with white hair, Y/N, claimed to be Whitebeard—the very person he had intended to kill. The tremor in his hands intensified, betraying his nervousness. He took a step back, struggling to comprehend the truth. It seemed inconceivable that someone so young could hold the title of a feared pirate captain when he himself struggled to gain respect among his own crew.
"You're lying! Where is Whitebeard?" Jeongwoo demanded, unable to accept the reality unfolding before him.
Your laughter filled the cabin, carrying a hint of amusement. "I'm not the lying kind. The truth is, my name was originally intended to be Whitehair, but people misheard it as 'beard' and I went along with it. I must say, I'm quite surprised you managed to reach here without facing punishment from my crew. You must be a formidable pirate."
Jeongwoo's confusion deepened even more, his conviction wavered. He found himself unable to act upon his murderous intent as he looked upon the spirited girl who awaited her fate.
"I don't understand," Jeongwoo stammered, his disbelief evident. His grip on the knife loosened, his hands dropping to his sides. The confusion within him battled against the impulse to carry out his revenge.
Chuckling lightly, you settled onto the bed, examining the young man before you. "I can see why you're surprised. Most people react the same way, especially new crew members. By the way, that's a good choice of weapon you have there. Sharp and effective for breaking bones. Luckily for me, I've been feeling like dying these past few days. So, what are you waiting for?" you asked, your gaze fixed upon him.
"I... I can't do it. You're a woman," Jeongwoo confessed, his voice laced with uncertainty.
A glimmer of curiosity danced in your eyes. "You've never killed a woman before?"
In fact, Jeongwoo had never killed anyone before, regardless of their gender.
From a young age, Blackbeard had trained Jeongwoo to embody his strength and eventually succeed him as captain. However, the weight of taking a life was a burden Jeongwoo couldn't bear. Fear gripped him, rendering him unable to follow in his father's ruthless footsteps. Consequently, Blackbeard became increasingly ashamed of his own son, distancing Jeongwoo from perilous battles and treacherous islands, effectively dismissing any notion of him becoming his successor. The once-promising young pirate had been reduced to a mere kitchen assistant.
The very reason he was driven to prove himself, came from his father's relentless pursuit of molding him into a fearsome assassin of the seas.
The absence of a response made it clear to you that he wasn't a killer. Despite your preference for staying in your room, you had a knack for understanding people through their behavior due to all the books you’ve read. The boy, who was around your age, appeared scared and confused. It had been a long time since you last talked to someone young. It made you question if this was how you were expected to behave. Should you also be afraid of life and death just like him? You wondered what those emotions were like.
"Well, if it makes you feel more at ease, I could take my own life and you can pretend it was you," you suggested, trying to ease his discomfort.
"What? Why? Why would you do that?" Jeongwoo asked, bewildered.
"Why wouldn't I?" you responded with a nonchalant shrug.
Jeongwoo felt like you were toying with him, playing games with his mind.
"Cause... you're Whitebeard! You possess wealth and power beyond imagination," he argued.
"I can understand why you might think that," you replied calmly. "But having everything doesn't guarantee happiness or fulfillment. There are things in life that money and power can't provide."
Your words brought a pause to the conversation as Jeongwoo tried to process this perspective. The idea that there could be something missing from the life of someone as influential as Whitebeard intrigued him.
“For instance, I've never had a pet dog because I’m afraid it might fall into the sea. Why would I live if I can't have a dog?”
Wanting to die because of a dog? It didn't make sense to him. After all, many ships had dogs as companions, and the fear of losing one to the sea seemed excessive and irrational. The boy couldn't help the thought that perhaps you were just a crazy person, he found it difficult to take your words seriously.
You rose from the bed, stepping onto the wooden floor with your bare feet, standing directly in front of Jeongwoo. The boy remained frozen, unable to move in your presence. Your intense gaze made him feel self-conscious.
"Will you do it?" you asked, your voice filled with anticipation.
"No..." Jeongwoo admitted, his voice filled with resignation. "I can't."
"Coward." you snapped, your anger replacing your previous calm demeanor.
Without warning, you forcefully pushed the knife out of Jeongwoo's grip, catching him off guard. A struggle ensued as both of you fought for control of the weapon. You pushed the knife towards your own neck, while Jeongwoo desperately resisted, pushing back.
"Stop it immediately!" Jeongwoo pleaded, his voice filled with fear.
"No! I want to die!" you exclaimed, your voice filled with frustration and despair.
The fight abruptly stopped as you both heard the sound of an explosion coming from outside. The sudden noise caught your attention, momentarily distracting you from the intense struggle and bringing a sense of uncertainty to the room. Momentarily stunned by the unexpected blast, you released your grip on the knife, which clattered to the floor. The urgency of the situation overshadowed your previous conflict as you instinctively turned your attention towards the chaos unfolding outside the cabin.
"The ship is on fire!" one of your crewmates screamed, her voice filled with panic, as she desperately tried to open the door to your room. Despite her efforts, the door remained stubbornly locked.
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in alarm, and he turned to you, searching for answers. But instead of panic, he found you smiling to yourself, a strange gleam in your eyes.
"The ship is on fire," you repeated softly, almost in awe.
Confusion and concern filled Jeongwoo's voice as he asked, "What are you talking about?"
Ignoring his question, you hurriedly rummaged through your belongings, searching for something specific. Your hands found a large box of gunpowder, and without hesitation, you tossed it onto the floor of the room. The contents spilled out, forming a dangerous circle of flammable material.
Realizing what you were about to do, Jeongwoo lunged forward, desperately attempting to stop you. But it was too late. The room was already filled with thick smoke, making it difficult to see and breathe.
A struggle ensued between the two of you, the suffocating smoke clouding your senses and heightening the chaos. You fought against Jeongwoo's attempts to restrain you, pushing him away with a desperate strength fueled by a strange determination.
In the chaos of the struggle, Jeongwoo lost his footing and fell to the floor, his body slumping unconscious. The smoke continued to billow around the room, its suffocating grip tightening with each passing second.
Tumblr media
Jeongwoo had made many mistakes in his life, but none compared to the decision to kill Whitebeard. Despite knowing that it could lead to his demise, he had hoped for an honorable death, a valiant battle against one of the revered kings of the sea. Now, he was dead, and his crew would remain in perpetual waiting, unaware of his fate.
However, as Jeongwoo surrendered to the embrace of death, a peculiar sensation washed over him. Instead of the anticipated darkness and stillness, he felt a gentle breeze upon his face, carrying with it the unmistakable scent of the ocean. In the distance, a captivating voice sang a haunting melody, unfamiliar yet oddly comforting. It was not the symphony of death, but something entirely different.
Slowly, Jeongwoo opened his eyes, his surroundings shifting from darkness to a blinding brightness. And there he lay, not in the clutches of death, but on the sandy floor of a beach, safe and unharmed. Beside him sat Y/N, the source of the melody that had captivated his senses.
Confusion and relief washed over Jeongwoo as he struggled to comprehend his current state. "Am I alive?" he questioned, his voice filled with a mix of astonishment and gratitude.
You turned your gaze towards Jeongwoo, a mischievous smile playing on your lips. "No, my friend, we both died and unfortunately, we didn't make it to heaven. Welcome to hell." you joked, adding a playful smirk.
Jeongwoo looked at you, slightly taken aback by your remark.
"No, we're not dead. Well, at least you are not dead," you clarified, your tone now more serious.
As Jeongwoo settled down, his eyes adjusting to the sunlight, he couldn't help but inquire about the fate of your ship. "What happened to your ship?" he asked, evident worry in his voice.
"Oh, it burned down completely. I had to carry you all the way up to the beach cause you refused to wake up." you explained, a tinge of exhaustion in your voice. "My crew already gave up on trying to find me. Whitebeard is finally dead."
The weight of your words lingered in the air, mingling with a sense of irony and regret. Jeongwoo absorbed the gravity of the situation, his thoughts drifting to the consequences of his actions and the unpredictable path that lay before them.
"What are you going to do now?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
"I don't know," you replied, your eyes tracing the vastness of the ocean. "But I'm happy I'm not really dead. And now you can say that you killed Whitebeard as well.”
Jeongwoo clutched his knees tightly as he contemplated the implications of your words. A mixture of guilt and disbelief washed over him, realizing the weight of his actions and the role he inadvertently played in Whitebeard's demise.
"Can I ask you something?" Jeongwoo said. You nodded, signaling your willingness to answer.
"Your room was full of medicine, what is that for?" he inquired, his eyes reflecting genuine interest.
"Oh, that. I have a weak body, you see. That's why I never actively participated in battles. The medicine I had in my room helped me manage the pain and discomfort that came with it." You maintained a positive demeanor, even when discussing serious matters. "I should've thought about that before I burned my room down. Now I have no access to those medicines anymore."
Jeongwoo listened intently, realizing the extent of your struggles and the sacrifices you had made. It deepened his understanding of who you were beyond the legendary figure of Whitebeard.
"Can I ask you something too?" You said with a hopeful look in your eyes.
"Of course," Jeongwoo replied, curious about your request.
"Could you take me with you on your ship?"
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in surprise. "What?"
"See, I want to experience life as a pirate without being the captain. I've always been sheltered and protected, spending my days confined to that room because my crewmates feared for my safety. I want to be a regular crewmate and see what life is like beyond my previous duties. Please, bring me along to your ship."
Jeongwoo hesitated, taken aback by your request. "I'm sorry, but..."
"Please, I promise I won't be a burden. I was always the brains behind our quests, I can help out if you need it. I'll be good company, and once I find a new place to live, I'll leave, I promise!"
"Y/N," he interrupted, seriousness in his voice tone, "I'm a Blackbeard pirate." He braced himself for your reaction, unsure of how you would take the news.
But instead of being devastated or shocked, you looked at him with a knowing smile. "Oh, I already knew. The moment I laid eyes on your knife, I recognized it. That type of blade is exclusively crafted for Blackbeard's crew. I intentionally left yours in my room to make it look like you're the one who caused my death."
Jeongwoo's eyes widened in surprise, his secret now out in the open. "You knew all along?"
You nodded, a playful glint in your eyes. "I told you I'm smart."
"And you still want to join my father's crew?" Jeongwoo asked, concern etched on his face.
"Father? Oh, that's news to me," you replied with a hint of surprise. "But yes, I do!"
"Listen, if he finds out you're Whitebeard, he might do something drastic. I am his son, but I have no idea what he's capable of." Jeongwoo warned, his worry palpable.
"That's a risk I'm willing to take. After all, I'm already familiar with pain." you said, a tinge of determination in your voice as you alluded to your health condition.
Jeongwoo carefully considered the situation, contemplating his father's nature and your resolute spirit. Finally, he made a decision.
"Alright. You can come with me. I'll help you get the medicines you need and we'll disguise your appearance so that your crewmates won't recognize you if they happen to come across us. Having white hair won't exactly blend in well with my crew."
You listened attentively, ready to fulfill your part in the plan.
"But there's one more thing," Jeongwoo continued. "We will have to convince my crew that I killed you, I mean, Whitebeard. It's crucial to ensure your safety. Can you do that?"
A mischievous smile crossed your face as you accepted the challenge. "Consider it done. Together, we'll weave a convincing tale that even Blackbeard himself won't question."
With an agreement in place, you and Jeongwoo embarked on a journey filled with secrets, transformations, and the unpredictable dynamics of a notorious pirate crew.
The crew of Blackbeard was going about their usual activities. Some pirates diligently cleaned the deck, others sharpened their weapons, and a few studied maps. Amidst this routine, the sharp-eyed navigator, Jaehyuk, spotted a tiny boat approaching their ship. He recognized it instantly—Jeongwoo had returned after two long months.
"Jeongwoo is back on the ship!" Jaehyuk’s voice echoed through the air, grabbing the attention of the sailors.
The crew quickly gathered, eagerly awaiting their comrade's arrival. As Jeongwoo stepped onto the deck, he was warmly embraced by his friends.
"Welcome back, mate!" Jihoon, Blackbeard's trusted right-hand man, exclaimed with joy.
However, Jeongwoo's demeanor betrayed a sense of terror rather than excitement. He surveyed the surroundings, his father conspicuously absent. Soon, he would have to reveal the lie he had planned.
"Where's the captain?" Jeongwoo inquired, his voice tinged with apprehension.
"Blackbeard is in his cabin. We're preparing to dock at a new island." Jihoon responded, noting the unusual behavior displayed by the young pirate. "Is something the matter?"
Without uttering a word, Jeongwoo swiftly made his way towards his father's quarters, leaving Jihoon with unanswered questions.
"Well, look who we have here..." Doyoung, the ship's chef, remarked with a sly grin as he peered down at the boat beside the ship, catching sight of you.
Jeongwoo hesitated for a moment before mustering the courage to knock on his father's door. He did it and Blackbeard's voice boomed from within, "Who is it?"
"It's me, Captain. I'm back." Jeongwoo responded, his voice slightly shaky.
There was a brief pause before Blackbeard granted him entry. Jeongwoo pushed open the door and stepped into the room, which resembled more of an office than a living space. A large desk cluttered with papers and boxes of weapons dominated the room's center.
"Hello, Father," Jeongwoo greeted, standing before the imposing desk. Blackbeard remained engrossed in his maps, not bothering to look up.
"I have something important to tell you," Jeongwoo continued, his voice earnest. "I lied about going to trade treasure. In truth, I've been working on a plan to eliminate a rival captain. And... I succeeded. I killed him and burned his ship, leaving one of our knives as proof. I'm certain the news will reach you soon."
"I understand. But you didn't mention the crucial part," Blackbeard stated, his voice laced with curiosity. He fixed his intense gaze on Jeongwoo, waiting for the revelation. “Whom did you kill?”
Taking a deep breath, Jeongwoo summoned his courage and spoke, his voice tinged with both apprehension and resolve. "I... I killed Whitebeard, sir," he confessed, the weight of his words hanging in the air. The significance of his action was not lost on either of them.
He looked down, awaiting his father's reaction, but to his surprise, Blackbeard remained focused on his maps, seemingly unperturbed by the revelation.
"Father?" Jeongwoo stammered, seeking acknowledgment.
Without looking up, Blackbeard replied with a dismissive tone, "I heard you. If what you say is true, then I will wait for the news to reach me in due time."
"Additionally, I brought someone back with me to the ship. I hope that's not a problem." Jeongwoo said.
"Your guest is your responsibility. Now, return to your usual duties. "
Jeongwoo's heart sank at his father's lack of response. It seemed that his confession had fallen on deaf ears. He couldn't help but wonder what lay behind his father's impassive facade.
After leaving his room, Jeongwoo hurried to the boat to bring you up to his room. However, to his surprise, you were no longer there. His crewmates had already taken the initiative to escort you to Jeongwoo's quarters. As he entered the room, he noticed Doyoung lingering by your side, a flirtatious smirk on his face.
"Here's some clothes from our shortest crewmates. These are men's outfits, but it might fit you for now!" Doyoung said, placing the garments in your hands. He made a subtle move, his hand briefly brushing against yours in a flirtatious manner.
Jeongwoo's annoyance grew as he witnessed Doyoung's advances. It seemed that his friend couldn't resist flirting with any woman he encountered.
"Oh, Jeongwoo. Hi!" Doyoung greeted, his playful tone evident. "Did Jeongwoo tell you he's my assistant?"
"I think that's enough, Doyoung" Jeongwoo interjected, his voice tinged with annoyance.
Noticing the tension, you decided to break the ice. "Hey, how did things go with your father?"
Jeongwoo glanced at Doyoung and then turned to you. "Doyoung, could you excuse us for a moment? I need to talk to Y/N privately."
Doyoung shrugged, his flirtatious demeanor fading slightly. "Sure thing, Jeongwoo. I'll catch up with you later."
As Doyoung left the room, Jeongwoo closed the door behind him, creating a sense of privacy for your conversation.
"Did you tell him?" you asked, your curiosity piqued.
"Yes, I did. But he didn't believe me," Jeongwoo replied, frustration evident in his voice. He paced back and forth within the confines of the small room, trying to process his father's disbelief.
"I see," you nodded, understanding the situation. "Let's not dwell on it for now. It's only a matter of time before news of my... his death spreads throughout the Caribbean."
Jeongwoo sighed, releasing the tension in his brow. "I hope you're right," he murmured, his thoughts preoccupied with the uncertainty of their plan. He shifted gears, changing the topic. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm doing well," you replied, a hint of a smile playing on your lips. "The medicine we got on the way is helping a lot with the pain. Your crew has been welcoming and friendly."
Jeongwoo's expression softened, glad to hear that you were finding some comfort amidst the unfamiliar surroundings.
He took a better look at you, taking in your changed appearance. The clothes you wore were clearly mismatched and of questionable quality, and your long hair was concealed beneath a knit cap. The shoes on your feet seemed ill-fitting and out of place.
"Once we land on a commercial island, I'll make sure to get you proper clothing," Jeongwoo assured you, his voice filled with determination.
You nodded appreciatively, grateful for his consideration.
"This is my room. It's very small compared to yours, but it's the only one on the ship. At least I have one advantage as the captain's son," Jeongwoo chuckled, a hint of self-deprecating humor in his tone. "You can keep it to yourself."
"Really? But where will you sleep then?" you asked, concerned about his sleeping arrangements.
"With the other crewmates on the deck," he replied nonchalantly.
"Well, if you can sleep on the floor with them, you might as well sleep on the floor here," you suggested.
"I'm fine, don't worry," he assured you.
"Come on, we've been camping together all these past days. There's no difference between that and sharing a room," you reasoned.
"Fine, I'll think about it. But for now, I have to attend to my duties. Stay here, and we can talk later," Jeongwoo said, his attention turning to his responsibilities.
"Your duties as the cook's assistant?" you teased playfully.
"Hey, stop it!" he exclaimed, a faint smile gracing his face as he left you alone in the room.
The rest of the day deviated from your usual routine. In your previous life as Whitebeard, your days were consumed by studying and strategizing. However, in these past few days with Jeongwoo, you had taken on the role of his mentor, teaching him the art of combat and imparting your knowledge. It has been an enjoyable experience for both of you.
Now, with a moment of solitude, you seized the opportunity to remove your knit cap, allowing your hair to cascade freely. As you explored Jeongwoo's belongings, you stumbled upon a knife. Remembering his words from earlier, you made a decision. Determined to embrace this new chapter in your life, you courageously chopped off all of your white, long hair, leaving it shorter than Jeongwoo's own hair. It symbolized a fresh start, a declaration of your commitment to this new identity.
When Jeongwoo returned to invite you to dinner, he was taken aback by your new visual. The sight surprised him, but it also reassured him of your determination and commitment to this new chapter. You informed him that you weren't hungry at the moment, so he kindly brought you a plate of food to enjoy later.
As the night settled in, Jeongwoo made the decision to accept your request to become roommates. He settled himself on the floor while you took the bed, contemplating what the future held in store for both of you.
The next morning, a loud knock on Jeongwoo's door jolted him awake. Doyoung's voice came through, urgently informing him that Blackbeard wanted to see him. Panic surged through Jeongwoo as he realized you were no longer in your bed. He sprang into action, hastily making his way to the deck, anticipating the worst.
To his astonishment, instead of a tense confrontation, he was greeted with lively music and jubilant celebrations. The crewmates were in high spirits, reveling in the festivities.
“He’s awake!” Doyoung called out, drawing everyone's attention.
Blackbeard turned towards his son, his eyes filled with pride and joy. He opened his arms, welcoming him with warmth.
"My son," he said, placing a hand on Jeongwoo's shoulder. "Last night I sent Jihoon to the nearest island to verify the information you shared. He found this." Blackbeard retrieved a newspaper from his coat and handed it to Jeongwoo. The headline read: "Pirate Whitebeard killed by a member of Blackbeard's crew."
Jeongwoo looked up, his confusion deepening as he saw his father's wide grin. "I am proud of you, son." Blackbeard proclaimed, turning to address the rest of the crew. "My son has killed Whitebeard!" His words were met with cheers and applause, filling the air with jubilation.
Jeongwoo stood in disbelief, his emotions swirling. The truth had been accepted, and his father's pride washed away any doubts he had carried. It was a moment of validation and a turning point in his journey as a pirate.
"Where's Y/N?" Jeongwoo inquired, scanning the surroundings.
"Your new companion? She's over there, reading books to the boys!" Blackbeard pointed towards the stairs where you sat, engrossed in storytelling for the crew members. "It's a rare find to have someone so smart and well-read among us!"
Jeongwoo's heart swelled with a mix of emotions as he watched you captivate the crew with your storytelling. Gratitude, pride, and a lingering sense of guilt churned inside him. He had never felt valued by his crew before, and his father had never expressed pride in him until now. The conflicting emotions gnawed at him, but he couldn't deny the happiness that bloomed within.
Doyoung, ever exuberant, nudged Jeongwoo towards the festivities. "Let's celebrate!" he exclaimed, urging him to join the merry chaos unfolding around them.
And so they celebrated, laughter and music filling the air throughout the day. Jeongwoo revealed the joyous atmosphere, savoring the newfound recognition and acceptance. Yet, underneath it all, the weight of his guilt remained, a constant reminder of the choices he had made.
The following day, Jeongwoo found himself relieved of his duties in the kitchen. Blackbeard had a different plan for him - to train his battle skills under the guidance of Jihoon. It was a clear indication that his father saw potential in him beyond being a mere cook's assistant.
Meanwhile, you were slowly carving out your own place on the ship. Your ability to read and your intelligence had garnered respect from the crewmates. You found yourself aiding them with your knowledge, and even Blackbeard himself sought your assistance. In return, you received new clothes more suitable for a female pirate, as well as supplies of medicines and books to feed your thirst for knowledge.
Jeongwoo, too, experienced a transformation. He was bestowed with a new sword, a stylish monocle, and a pirate hat that accentuated his growing stature within the crew. Everything seemed to be falling into place, almost too perfectly.
As the months passed, Jeongwoo vowed to prove himself even more, to earn his place honestly and make his father truly proud. Yet, deep inside, despite the newfound recognition and joy, he couldn't fully embrace it without confronting the truth that simmered beneath the surface.

"Land ahoy!" Jihoon shouted, breaking the silence in the ship.
Blackbeard, standing beside Jeongwoo, turned his attention to his son. "Do you think that's the right island?" he inquired, testing Jeongwoo's knowledge and instincts.
"Yes, sir." Jeongwoo responded confidently, his gaze fixed upon the island ahead.
You, too, recognized the island. It held a special place in your memory, as it was rumored to be the location of an ancient treasure. However, you had never had the opportunity to search for it, as your fellow sailors deemed it too dangerous for you to venture ashore.
“Let me see…” Blackbeard assessed his crew, pondering who should accompany him on this expedition. After a brief pause, he made his decision. "Jihoon, Junghwan, Jeongwoo... and Y/N," he announced. "The four of you will join me. The rest can remain on the ship."
The crew members were taken aback by his decision to bring you, a girl, along on the expedition. They were well aware of the island's dangers, knowing that other pirates might be lurking there. However, despite their surprise, no one dared to intervene or question their captain's choice.
Blackbeard's trusted right-hand man, approached you with a serious expression. "Can you handle a sword?" he inquired, assessing your combat abilities.
"I'm actually better with guns," you replied confidently, recognizing your own strengths.
Jihoon nodded in understanding, reaching into his pocket and retrieving a gun, which he handed to you. "Good choice." he remarked, acknowledging your preference and arming you accordingly.
As you accepted the weapon, a sense of determination washed over you. “Thank you.”
You noticed Jeongwoo stealing glances at you with his familiar anxiousness. Understanding his concern, you nodded reassuringly, silently communicating that you were prepared for the journey ahead.
After the ship docked on the island, the five of you disembarked and ventured into the forest. The dense vegetation made progress difficult, but Blackbeard and the other two crewmates forged a path ahead, diligently following the directions on the map while clearing obstacles along the way. Jeongwoo and you trailed a few steps behind them, engaged in a quiet conversation.
"You should have said you didn't want to come," Jeongwoo voiced his worry.
"Why would I? It sounds like an adventure," you replied with a hint of excitement in your voice.
"But it's dangerous, especially for you." he expressed his concern.
"Don’t underestimate me, Jeongwoo. Despite my limitations, I still possess a wealth of experience." you assured him confidently. "I was once a great fighter before my health condition started to manifest. In the early days of my crew, I always embarked on new adventures.”
Jeongwoo's apprehensive expression softened as he took in your words. He couldn't help but appreciate your bravery and determination, even if it worried him.
"I'm actually glad you came with us..." Jeongwoo admitted. "I don't think i could do it without you."
"Absolutely, we're a team now," you replied. "A crew within the crew!"
The boy couldn't help but think about how different you and Blackbeard were. While you were known for your kindness and care, Blackbeard was renowned for his strength, brusqueness, and his position at the forefront of battles. The juxtaposition of your gentle nature and his fierce demeanor struck a chord with Jeongwoo, prompting him to realize that not every captain had to conform to the same mold.
As you continued your trek through the dense forest, a sudden shift in the atmosphere caught your attention. Your instincts heightened, and you swiftly halted your movement, causing Jeongwoo to turn towards you, a questioning look on his face. With a finger pressed to your lips, you silenced him, your senses alert and focused.
A strange, almost imperceptible sound reached your ears, causing a shiver to run down your spine. It was a sound that didn't belong in the natural rhythm of the forest. Gripping the gun that had been entrusted to you, you prepared yourself for the unexpected.
Breaking the silence with a commanding voice, you called out into the surrounding wilderness "We know you are here! Show yourselves!"
The declaration startled not only Jeongwoo, but also Blackbeard, Jihoon, and Junghwan. They turned their heads, scanning their surroundings with wide eyes, suddenly aware of the imminent threat.
In a matter of moments, the once seemingly tranquil forest came alive with movement. Figures surged from the foliage, surrounding you and your crew in a threatening formation.
"I see you have a map here," one of the enemy pirates jeered, a mocking laugh escaping his lips. "Give me that, big boy," he taunted.
The audacity of the pirate's words sent a ripple of amusement through the crew, as they witnessed someone daring to challenge the infamous their captain. Blackbeard's laughter echoed through the air, a deep, menacing sound that reverberated with power.
Without hesitation, Blackbeard drew his sword and his crewmates followed suit. The clash of steel filled the clearing as the two opposing forces collided in a fierce battle.
You and Jeongwoo fought side by side initially, hwever, the sheer numbers and tenacity of the opposing pirates overwhelmed you. In the chaos of the skirmish, you found yourself pushed back, stumbling and falling to the forest floor. But Jeongwoo remained in his protection, his unwavering loyalty shining through.
The battle raged on. Each swing of a sword, each evasive maneuver, and each determined strike propelled the conflict forward. The forest floor became a battleground, marred by the footprints of those engaged in the struggle.
Despite the enemy's relentless assault, Blackbeard's crew fought with a ferocity and skill that set them apart. The enemy pirates, though formidable, paled in comparison to the experienced warriors under Blackbeard's command.
Finally, the tides of battle began to turn in your favor. The enemy pirates, weakened and disheartened, succumbed to the relentless assault of Blackbeard's crew. The forest grew quiet, the heavy breaths of combatants punctuating the stillness.
As the final enemy pirate fell, defeated and broken, a sense of triumph and relief washed over the clearing. The remaining combatants stood tall, their bodies bruised and bloodied, but their spirits unyielding. Blackbeard's crew had emerged victorious, their reputation for strength and indomitable willpower reaffirmed.
Blackbeard firmly grasped the pirate who had dared to speak insolently before, his powerful hand closing around the young man's neck. Bloodstains marred the defeated boy's battered face, yet he still managed a defiant smile through the pain.
As you struggled to rise from the forest floor, Jeongwoo hurried to your side, concern etched across his features. He noticed that your white hair, previously covered by a knit hat, was now exposed. A sense of urgency filled the air as you frantically searched for the lost hat amidst the sand. Jeongwoo, ever attentive, joined in the search, determined to find it for you.
However, before the hat could be retrieved, Blackbeard's commanding voice broke through the commotion. "Jeongwoo? Come here, son," he beckoned, his grip on the pirate tightening as he pressed him against a nearby tree.
Jeongwoo obeyed, making his way towards his father's imposing figure.
As Jeongwoo stood beside Blackbeard, his father's piercing gaze bore into the captive pirate. Blackbeard's free hand reached into his coat, retrieving a knife adorned with the unmistakable mark of Blackbeard's crew. The knife, reminiscent of the one he had used when he first encountered you.
"Take this knife," Blackbeard commanded, placing it in Jeongwoo's hand. "Let's teach this kid a lesson. Show me exactly what you did to Whitebeard."
Jeongwoo's heart pounded in his chest as the weight of his father's expectations settled upon him. He tightened his grip on the knife, his fingers trembling ever so slightly.
Blackbeard callously dropped the defenseless pirate to the ground, creating a space for his son to reenact a murder that had never occurred. His request bore down on Jeongwoo, leaving him disoriented and unable to think straight. He had never imagined his father would be capable of demanding such a horrific act, yet deep down, he knew he shouldn't have been surprised.
"Go ahead, son," Blackbeard urged, his voice cold and demanding. "Kill this bastard and burn his body afterwards. Show us that you're capable of being my successor."
Jeongwoo stood frozen, his mind in turmoil. Every fiber of his being rebelled against the notion of carrying out his father's command. The weight of the knife in his hand felt like an anchor, dragging him into an abyss of moral conflict.
Time seemed to stand still as a deafening silence enveloped the forest. Blackbeard's frustration boiled over, his anger erupting in a primal scream that reverberated through the air.
"SHOW US!" Blackbeard bellowed, his voice filled with rage and disappointment.
But Jeongwoo couldn't bring himself to carry out such a heinous act. He refused to become a mere pawn in his father's ruthless game, to succumb to the darkness that Blackbeard represented.
"I won't..." Jeongwoo whispered, his voice barely audible.
"What? What the hell did you say?" Blackbeard seethed, his face contorted with anger.
Summoning his courage, Jeongwoo spoke with a newfound strength. "I said I won't kill him!" he declared, his words clear and resolute.
Instantly, his father's fist collided with his face, a brutal punch that sent Jeongwoo sprawling to the ground. The force of the blow reverberated through the air, the sound of impact echoing in the silence that engulfed the scene. The crew stood frozen, their gazes fixed upon the fallen young man, a mixture of shock and disbelief etched upon their faces.
"Enough!" a commanding voice rang out, cutting through the tension. Surprisingly, it was you.
Standing tall and defiant, you aimed your gun directly at Blackbeard himself.
"Put an end to this madness, Blackbeard," you demanded, your voice steady and unwavering. "Your son has made his choice, and you will respect it."
A stunned silence descended upon the forest as all eyes turned to you, the unexpected voice of reason in this chaotic scene.
"Who do you think you are to talk to me like this?" Blackbeard screamed, his voice filled with fury and disbelief.
"Whitebeard..." a voice interjected, joining the tense conversation. It was the defeated pirate whom Jeongwoo had refused to kill. He spoke slowly, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "I've always heard whispers on my island, rumors that a young girl was kidnapped from our church to serve as a scribe on a pirate ship, but instead she became the captain. The girl with the unmistakable white hair. Now I see, my people were right all along.”
The revelation hung in the air, casting a spell of astonishment over the assembled crowd.
Blackbeard's face contorted with a mixture of emotions—shock, denial, and a flicker of recognition. The realization that the formidable Whitebeard, revered as a fierce male pirate, was in fact a kidnapped child who had seized her own destiny.
In that moment, the power dynamics shifted, eroding the foundation of established hierarchies.
As the crew stood frozen in shock at the revelation, the fallen enemies seized the opportunity to strike back. Swiftly, they immobilized Junghwan and Jihoon, their movements deft and calculated. Meanwhile, Jeongwoo remained sprawled on the ground, still recovering from the forceful blow he had received.
Blackbeard regained his senses and unsheathed his sword, charging towards you with lethal intent. His eyes burned with rage and his sword gleamed menacingly in the sunlight. But before he could reach you, a resounding gunshot pierced the air, causing Blackbeard to halt in his tracks.
He clutched his chest, his hand stained with crimson blood, as his body crumpled to the ground.
The source of the gunshot was not you, however; it was the defeated pirate who had found an opportunity for redemption. He had chosen to intervene, taking justice into his own hands.
You rushed to Jeongwoo's side, your hands cradling his face gently as you tried to convey the depth of your emotions. The confusion in his eyes slowly gave way to clarity as the reality of the situation settled upon him.
"Jeongwoo..." you whispered, your voice trembling with a mixture of sadness and compassion.
He looked at you, his gaze filled with uncertainty and searching for answers. "Y/N... What happened to my dad?" he asked, his voice tinged with apprehension.
"Jeongwoo..." you began, your voice catching in your throat as tears welled up in your eyes. "I'm so sorry..."
Before you could finish your sentence, the assassin who had intervened earlier, stood before you, interrupting the somber moment. He addressed you respectfully, seeking confirmation of his suspicions.
"Milady," The boy spoke, his tone filled with reverence. "Was I right? Are you the girl who was kidnapped from Pueblo Esperanza?”
You nodded amidst your tears, acknowledging the truth. "Yes. It is true."
"My name is Haruto. I lived there as well. I think I recall seeing you when I was young. A white-haired girl like is not easy to forget.” He said, extending his hand towards you. "We should leave. Their crew is now aware of our presence, and they'll come searching due to the gunshots. I can guide us to safety."
Your gaze shifted briefly to Jihoon and Junghwan, who were bound and held captive by Haruto's crewmates. Then, your attention returned to Jeongwoo, his expression clouded with conflicting emotions.
"Jeongwoo, please, come with me." you pleaded, tears streaming down your face.
"Did you kill him?" He asked, his mind still confused because of the attack he suffered.
"I didn't kill your father. I never wanted any of this."
Jeongwoo's eyes narrowed as he processed your words, the weight of his own emotions evident. He uttered his thoughts slowly, his words heavy with regret and pain. "I should've killed you first."
The anguish in his voice pierced your heart, and you recoiled as if struck by his words. Desperate to reach him, to bridge the growing chasm between you, you moved your face closer to his, your voice filled with a mix of sorrow and determination.
Desperately, you pleaded with Jeongwoo, tears streaming down your face. "Please, listen to me… I can't do this without you…" you begged, your voice filled with anguish.
But Jeongwoo's response was a soft whisper, barely audible. "Don't touch me."
The weight of his words struck you like a blow, leaving you stunned and heartbroken. Slowly, you rose to your feet, your eyes devoid of any remaining hope or emotion. In that moment, you felt a profound emptiness settle within you.
You turned to Haruto and accepted his outstretched hand. "Don't kill them," you uttered, your voice barely a whisper, but filled with a resolute plea.
Haruto met your gaze, his expression unreadable. "As you wish," he replied, his tone tinged with a mix of understanding and restraint.
As you bid farewell, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air, knowing that your time together had come to an end. And thus, your journey took a different path from Jeongwoo. The circumstances had led you to part ways, each pursuing your own destiny.
After regaining his senses, Jeongwoo found himself confined to his father's bed on the ship. For two weeks, he secluded himself in that room, needing time to process the overwhelming events that had unfolded. Memories and emotions swirled within him as he struggled to come to terms with the loss of his father.
When he finally mustered the strength to step out of the room, the crew's solemn faces confirmed the grim truth—Blackbeard was no longer alive. The weight of grief settled heavily upon Jeongwoo's shoulders, a reminder of the void left by his father's absence.
In the midst of this somber moment, another revelation awaited Jeongwoo. The crew had chosen Jihoon as the new captain, recognizing his strength and leadership qualities. However, Jihoon surprised everyone by stepping down from the position. He declared that Jeongwoo had always been the true successor, even if his father had never explicitly acknowledged it.
Jeongwoo's heart swelled with a mix of emotions — grief for his father's passing, astonishment at Jihoon's unwavering support, and a newfound sense of responsibility. The weight of his heritage and the expectations of the crew now rested upon his shoulders.
For his first order as the new captain, Jeongwoo didn't request weapons or treasure. Instead, he had a different goal in mind. He gathered the crew together and instructed them to bring forth all the maps they had in their possession. It was time to embark on a quest to uncover a specific place, a place of significance.
As the crew members spread out their maps on the deck, Jeongwoo's eyes scanned the collection. He studied each map carefully, searching for a particular name that held deep meaning to him.
"I found it..." Jeongwoo spoke the words aloud, his voice filled with a mix of anticipation and determination. With a steady hand, he traced the outline of a small island on his own map, marking its location.
Pueblo Esperanza, the village you were born in.
Tumblr media
You awoke in a cozy bed, the gentle breeze and melodious chirping of birds filling the air around you. As you rose from the bed, the cool touch of the concrete floor greeted your bare feet.
Casting a glance at the mirror, you took in your appearance. Your hair had grown, cascading down to your shoulders, and you wore a comfortable nightgown. With a sense of purpose, you reached into your bag and selected a simple dress, swiftly changing into it. Slipping on a pair of shoes, you completed your morning preparations.
Exiting the room, you made your way to the living room of the house. There, seated at the table, was a woman dressed in a religious outfit. As she patiently waited, a warm smile graced your lips.
"Good morning," you greeted her, your voice filled with genuine kindness.
"Oh, good morning, dear," she responded kindly. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes," you replied. "I'm still adjusting to being on land instead of the ocean, though."
"Well, you better not get too used to it if you plan on returning," she responded, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Haruto seems quite eager to come back to the sea."
You contemplated her words for a moment before expressing your thoughts. "Well, he only came here to visit, but... I still haven't decided if I want to continue my life as a pirate."
The woman nodded with a sense of understanding. "That's perfectly alright, my dear. You are welcome to stay here at the church for as long as you need."
"I appreciate that," you replied, a sense of gratitude in your voice. "I have a feeling that Pueblo Esperanza has many things in store for me."

trust yourself ☆ jeongwoo

!: a bit of angst here and there because reader is sad :(
#: idol!bf!jeongwoo x gn reader, comfort fluff
[💌: hi anon here you are ! i hope this fic can keep you warm on rainy days even tho its short and not that goodjdjdj!! also trust yourself by balming tiger is so good and so true,, ive added it at the bottom heh]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
having a significant other means sharing the good and the bad with them. it means laughing together, crying together, and everything inbetween. yet, having an idol boyfriend is a bit different... at least, it is for you. Jeongwoo is your everything.. so you don't want to hurt him. you close off when you're sad so he won't have to risk his mood being ruined by listening to you vent.
little do you know, his day is ruined when you don't vent. he's your boyfriend, for pete's sake! he gets worried when you close off and he'd rather cry with you than have you shedding tears all alone.
maybe it's because Jeongwoo, and maybe also you, are both so young. maybe you think that he has to be protected because of his young age. maybe it's something else.
Jeongwoo doesn't know.
he rattles his brain in the waiting room for answers after reading and rereading your text to him.
i'm sorry i've been mia, Jeongwoo. things are not so great and i don't want to burden you with that.
why would you be burdening him? why would you think that way?--
"hey, jeongjeong! watchu doin'," Jaehyuk asks Jeongwoo, sliding in beside him on a touch.
"just thinking," Jeongwoo mumbles back.
"about?"
"y/n and how they won't share their sorrows with me because they don't want to burden me."
"ah.. y/n is just really considerate. but i get you.. it's hard to wait so long for a loved one. you don't have to force anything out of them--how about you just do something they love with them to cheer them up?" Jaehyuk explains.
Jeongwoo's eyes light up and he smiles.
"you're right!"
-
"Jeongwoo, 1 minute until camera rehearsals," a staff points out.
"i know! just let me--" Jeongwoo aggressively types out a text to you, telling you to meet him at your favourite café after his schedule is over. he pokes his tongue out as he types, focusing hard.
once it's done, he puts his phone away and joins the other members to prepare to rush on-stage.
meanwhile, you're at home watching the live of the music performance. you've been having such a hard time these days but your boyfriend and his group always make you feel a bit better. treasure are up next and just as they're about to go up, you get a text from Jeongwoo?! isn't he busy right now?!
you read it and smile, knowing that the typos must be from him typing his message to you in such a rush before his stage.
just watching him perform their comeback already fills you with so much joy, so you're giddy as you get changed and rush out to meet your boyfriend at the café. on the way, you hum treasure's songs, walking a little faster than usual and enjoying the warm breeze.
Jeongwoo is already there, still slightly sweaty and makeup+hair still intact as he smiles in your direction.
"y/n!" he stands up, grinning at the sight of you.
you're gorgeous despite your tired frame, and he's so happy to see you that his knees start feeling weak. you feel shy as you run up to hug him, butterflies filling you as his arms wrap around you. his hug is warm and his scent is like home.
"take a seat, i got you your favourite drink," he says, pushing the cup towards you.
you take it and drink, relaxing even more. the two of you are seated by the window and you briefly glance outside, watching as couples walk together.
"what's the occasion, Jeongjeong?" you ask.
"well... i know things haven't been so amazing for you lately. i just wanted to meet you in person to tell you that i love you and i'm rooting for you," he says, only meeting your eyes after he's done talking. he doesn't want to make you feel worse.
the effort he's made for you makes your heart ache, but in the best way possible.
"if you want to talk to me, i'm here. if not, i'm still here. i'll wait for you. and.. i just want you to trust yourself, no matter what's happening. please know.. it's okay to not be alright, and that things will be alright eventually. just take your time, everything will fall into place!"
you have to fight back tears as you reach for Jeongwoo's hands, giving them a big squeeze.
"i really needed to hear that, Jeongwoo. thank you," you say.
Jeongwoo's own lips wobble as he watches you get emotional, and he stares at the ceiling to stop himself from crying.
"hey, you big crybaby! don't cry because of me, i'll get sad.." you whine.
"i'm not crying!" he says, as his lips quiver more intensely.
you laugh, stroking his soft hair and caressing his cheek.
"i just love you, y/n. i won't let this world hurt you, ever." his eyes sparkle as he speaks to you and your heart is filled with warmth.
in that moment you realize that no matter what happens, you can overcome it, because you'll always have at least once person rooting for you.
and one of those people will always be me, dear reader. me, milky. ♡

why won't the butterfly go away
— because sometimes, feelings suck.
cast: wooyoung x gn!reader
genre: hurt/angst
wc: 437
warnings: cursing, overall negativity towards romantic feelings, y/n struggles with their feelings in this one so pls don’t follow their example LOL, proofread but i am half asleep.
a/n: i'm pretty sure the metaphor is obvious. but in case it's not, it's a play on the phrase "having butterflies in your stomach," and these feelings are represented by a singular butterfly. y/n obviously isn’t fond of the butterfly. you get the point—might turn it into something larger. lwk haven't had time to write properly with school, but enjoy.
taglist: @restlessmaknae
and as always, if you want to help a girl, reblog.
Tumblr media
you dribbled the ball back and forth, establishing a rhythm that guided your movement. a singular butterfly flew around you.
perhaps it was the red shorts that made you look like a awkwardly tall flower, one who attracted way too many insects.
the butterfly in particular showed up at inopportune times, like when you tried to interpret graphs in statistics, or when you needed to score baskets for your university team, or you just wanted to sleep.
its wings of red and gold were a rarity—quite a beauty, you'd admit that, but that was all. those same wings that glittered in the sunlight annoyingly fluttered around you, brushing your skin ever so often like an unwanted itch. you concluded that the butterfly was just a distraction in important moments, something to keep you from achieving the goals you had set for yourself.
that butterfly flew to places that you knew you couldn’t reach, and you’d be a fool to let it guide you.
stop fluttering, you’d think, hoping you could somehow will it into flying somewhere better. you weren’t so cruel as to want to squash it entirely. at least, not yet.
it felt entirely possible that you had reverted back to the habits of high school, considering how the butterfly found it amusing to fly around you and jung wooyoung, as if you ever stood a chance with him.
the reality was that your social circles didn’t intersect enough, and coupled with the fact that you were introverted as hell, you felt odd about trying to pursue anything further than acquaintanceship.
just like old times, right?
you thought you'd grown so much from then (and you had), but trying to start a relationship from a connection that only existed through having a common friend seemed less likely than your brother, jeongwoo not singing in the shower.
even statistics wanted to screw you over.
the damn butterfly continued to taunt you, knowing you'd have to settle with admiring wooyoung from afar. it was a reminder that you would never make a move towards him anyways, never shoot your shot.
you watched as the ball sank through the hoop, as it usually did. with that, the butterfly left for now. at least you could somewhat function today without being lost in your feelings. that could come later in the day, when you didn't have to concentrate on the art of "dribbling and shooting a ball", as your friends called it.
but in any case, you'd either have let the butterfly stick around or tell it to politely fuck off, and you weren’t looking forward to choosing.

admin I was reading through your master list and noticed that for treasure, the reaction to a fight+s/o fainting doesn’t have anything for dobby ruto woo and Hwan! Now that they’re older might you consider writing that for them? (I just love angst)

KIM DOYOUNG
🐰 doyoung never lets fights escalate, always calming you down before it gets too serious
🐰 but with you being sick, it only ticked you off more when he did so
🐰 "babes, please sit down. you shouldn't be walking around when you are sick."
🐰 he was being nothing but sweet to you, but obv in your sick state, you were only pissed off by his words and gestures
🐰 "i will sit when i fucking want to!" you yelled, your own voice giving you a headache
🐰 doyoung was at your side as you clutched your head, wiping away the tears that fell down your face
🐰 "baby, talk to me. what do you want? what can i do for you?"
🐰 you felt bad instantly, guilty at the fact that you yelled at your boyfriend, who wanted nothing but the best for you
🐰 "i'm sorry. i really am. i'm so sorry."
🐰 you repeated your apologies over and over, your words slurring as your headache was too much to handle
🐰 doyoung knew what was happening before you could even get a word out, making you sit down on the sofa as the spots took over your vision before you passed out
🐰 he kept his calm even though he was internally freaking out, only heaving a breath when you opened your eyes, finally regaining consciousness
🐰 “gosh, princess. you gave me quite the scare right now, you know?”

WATANABE HARUTO
🦙 bro is in full panic mode as soon as you raise your voice at him
🦙 ruto is so convinced you are gonna leave him when you two get into an argument
🦙 and he's just creating contingencies in his head to make you stay with him bc he doesn't want you to leave him
🦙 “baby, please don't raise your voice. let's talk this out softly, hm?”
🦙 you knew you were going overboard and your migraine didn't help at all
🦙 not wanting to hurt your beloved bf further, you turned on your heel, attempting to take a step away
🦙 but all you are hit with is a wave of nausea and dizziness, making you still in your place
🦙 you only managed to say “haruto … i don't feel good” before fainting, falling right into his arms as he caught you
🦙 he is going insane with the things running through his head, wondering if what was happening was normal or not
🦙 but he also knew of your migraines and how iffy you got when you had them
🦙 he'd analyse your behavioral pattern as he laid you in bed, realizing you were having a super bad migraine
🦙 haruto would have your meds by your side as you came around, giving it to you as soon as you opened your eyes
🦙 he's also not leaving your side until you agree to go to a doctor bc he's not about to have you fainting on him again
🦙 “no idc if you think this is normal, i won't be able to rest well until you check this out with a doctor, okay, babes?”

PARK JEONGWOO
🐺 he doesn't get angry often, but when he does, it's an absolute war
🐺 woo would get too angry to even notice the signs of you not feeling well
🐺 you usually kept quiet when he got angry so he thought little of your silence when he was ranting
🐺 it wasn't until you tapped his shoulder mid-rant that he realized something was definitely wrong with you
🐺 he'd see the tears on your face and wonder if he went too far, but what happened next only screwed with his mind even more
🐺 “i understand we have our differences, but we must—jagiya, what's wrong?”
🐺 you didn't even have enough time to get out the words you wanted to say, falling directly into his arms
🐺 jeongwoo would be in full-blown panic, tearing up instantly as he felt guilty for not being more observant of you
🐺 “jagi. jagiya. please open your eyes and tell me you are alright. please.”
Tumblr media
SO JUNGHWAN
🐮 junghwan didn't really mean to get as angry as he did when speaking to you
🐮 he knew you were sick and strictly ordered you to stay in bed and not worry about doing anything around the house
🐮 but when he came back home and saw you doing a deep-clean, he couldn't help but get angry at you
🐮 “y/n! i told you to stay put! why are you doing everything i asked you not to?!”
🐮 you'd be startled at his reaction, tearing up instantaneously at his words
🐮 “i'm sorry, hwanie. i really am. please don't leave me. i'm sorry.”
🐮 junghwan would instantly pause at your words, realizing he must've scared you
🐮 “no, no. hey, y/n. i didn't mean it like that. why would i leave you? i'm sorry for scaring you like that.”
🐮 he'd apologise constantly, afraid to approach you as you cowered in the corner, clutching your head as you quietly sobbed
🐮 junghwan would realize immediately that something was wrong when you rested your hands on the floor, a dazed look in your eyes
🐮 before he could ask you, your body gave away, falling to the floor with a light thud
🐮 instantly, junghwan is by your side, tapping whichever hyung’s number came up first as he called them to get help
🐮 they'd calm him over the phone, letting him know it was just a moment of being overwhelmed and that you weren't seriously unwell
🐮 once you wake up, he's holding you in a tight hug, muttering apologies repeatedly
🐮 “i'm so sorry for making you feel like that, y/n. i promise i won't ever do that again. please don't leave me. i love you, please. i'm so terribly sorry.”

How can this day be worse ? Impossible ; that was the worst day of all your life.
Everything started when you woke up ...late. And as you were already you were in a rush and you forget your coat and SURE you missed your bus so you walked to your high school, in the cold, without your jacket, late for your classes.
And as if it wasn't enough, when you were running in the corridor to find your class before the second period, you bumped into a tall and tough figure, making you fall and as if it wasn't enough the one you bumped into was Jeongwoo, your enemy. Jeongwoo wasn't a mean guy, he was even funny and kind with a lot of people but you just couldn't stand him he was always agitated with TOO MUCH energy and you don't know why, Jeongwoo hobby is to tease you.
You were on the calmer side and just seeing Jeongwoo just gave you headaches.
"You okay Y/n?" The boy asked with a smirk on his face as he held you hands to help you to get up. "Do I look okay ?" You replied, frowning angrily while the boy beside you chuckled. "I'm fucking late" you sighed then, without looking back at Jeongwoo, you rushed to your classroom.
"Y/n Y/l/n you are late... sit fastly and I will have to talk with you at the end of the period." Your professor said, seemingly disappointed by you. You weren't a bad student, even if school wasn't your favorite place you were always listening in class, paying attention to what your professors were saying and, being late was unusual.
You were lost in your thoughts when your seatmate suddenly spoke to you, your seatmate : Doyoung a.k.a the nerdy and smart boy in your class, the one who was always the first in EVERY subjects, wasn't only clever, he was also very kind and sweet and, even if you would never say that to your friends, you actually found him handsome. I mean who wouldn't ? His face was perfect.
"I think she's gonna scold you" he whispered as you sighed "Yeah I know...But it's usually my brother who wake me up and yesterday he slept at his best friend's so I woke up late..." you replied ,feeling a bit ashamed as you told the truth to Doyoung, yeah you were in high school and your brother was still taking care of you, your brother was always here for you and he liked babying you and to be honest it didn't bother you at all . The little chuckle that left his mouth made your cheeks warming slightly : was he making fun of you ? "Kim Doyoung don't make fun of me" you warned in a quiet voice "I'm not ! I just find it cute" he assumed, a smile plastered on his pretty face.
The hour passed by fastly and before you even knew it, the class of the first period were finished. As every student walked off the classroom, you stayed with your professor who wanted to talk to you "Y/n you were late this morning, It's kind of disappointing from you. You were one of the best student but recently your grades are low and you seems like you don't care of high school at all. It's really disappointing Y/n." The professor spoke as you felt your eyes being teary.
Maybe some will say that you're too sensitive but being yelled at wasn't a thing that usually happened to you and the professor being especially harsh and rude, you could only feel bad and sad. "I'm sorry Miss" you apologized before leaving the classroom to walk to the next class.
Mathematics wasn't your favorite subject but at least you were sat beside your bestfriend, Yedam. "Y/n I can read your facial expressions and right now I can see that you're sad." Yedam said with a gentle smile as his hand made its way to your back, stroking it softly to comfort you.
Yedam was your bestfriend since you went to elementary school when your teacher told you to pair up together for a school project. That was probably the best idea your teacher ever had because you two became bestfriend since then. Yedam know all of your secret and you know all his, you two couldn't live without the other. "The professor yelled at me" you pout as Yedam smirked "It's okay Y/n don't be sad because of that, you're an human too you don't have to be what people want you to be". Yedam was like a part of you, your second half, he knew what to say when you felt down and he also knew how much you always pressured yourself to be good at everything.
Yedam always understood your emotions, like if he could read in you like an open book even though he couldn't even understand his own feelings, he couldn't understand how he fell for you.
You were only his bestfriend right ? So why were you always on his mind ?
____________
"Do you have classes this afternoon ?" Yedam asked as you both walked out the classroom, his arm naturally making its way over your shoulder. "Nope do you want to come over at my house ? Asahi will probably be here" you replied before Yedam spoke again " I'm used to his presence, you know Y/n, Asahi is like my brother now" he smiled. Yedam and your brother, Asahi, had always been close, Asahi is only 1 year older than you and Yedam.
"Wait for me Y/n, I have to give this book back to Dayeon, stay here I'm back in ten minutes" Yedam said, showing a big book in his bag as you nodded.
While Yedam was running away to give the book back to its owner, you felt a strange and unknown weight on your shoulder and as you looked to see who or what was on your shoulder, you noticed him : Park Jeongwoo, his elbow leant on your shoulder like if you were friends. "Y/n I was looking for you" He spoke as you moved your shoulder away, making his arm fall against his own body. "What do you want Park Jeongwoo" you replied, seemingly annoyed by the boy next to you "I'm just here because your ring fell when you bumped into me this morning but since you were so nice with me... I won't give it back to you" Jeongwoo ironically said with a smirk plastered on his pretty face.
You looked at your hands only to find that he was right, your ring fell and you didn't even noticed "My brother gave me this ring, give it back to me Jeongwoo" you madly said, making Jeongwoo laugh a bit "Nope, goodbye Y/n see you soon" he teased as he walked away, waving at you.
Suddenly you felt Yedam delicately threw his arm around your shoulder as an habit. "I'm back, why were you talking to him?" He said, accentuating the last word, making you understand what he thought of Jeongwoo " Nothing Yedam, no worries" you mumbled, you knew that Yedam wasn't friend with Jeongwoo at all and you didn't want a war to start between the two of them.
_________
As you and Yedam walked in your house, two loud laughs caught your attention, one of them was your brother and the second was a laugh that you knew by heart : a laugh that can make you smile everytime you heard it, a laugh that make your heart beating so fast everytime your heard it , a laugh that you could recognize between a billion of laughs ; it was Yoon Jaehyuk.
Jaehyuk was Asahi's bestfriend and your biggest secret crush...
I mean, everyone has a crush on Jaehyuk.
His smile can easily make every heart melt, his face itself can put someone into a cardiac arrest (I swear it's true!) And, the most important, he's the sweetest and kindest little bean alive. But Asahi will kill him if he touch you because Asahi is the most protective brother, he may be calm and quiet, he's always taking care of as if you were a 5years old child.
As you were lost in your thoughts, you heard a voice yelling "Who's here? Y/n it's you?" Your brother must have heard the door open and, since your parents are working, it can be only you. "Yup I'm with Yedam" you replied, raising your voice to Asahi to hear you. "I'm in the living room with Jaehyuk you can come play with us, we're playing at Mario Kart" Asahi said as you saw Yedam nodding to approve the idea of your brother. The two of you made your way to the living room , when you entered in, your eyes fell automatically on Jaehyuk, he was gorgeous as usual. "Hi Y/n, Hi Yedam" Jaehyuk waved at you, even though he was talking to you and your friend, his eyes were on you, staring with his loving eyes at your figure.
Asahi handed the controller to you and Yedam and the four of you started a Mario Kart tournament and.... you were clearly losing. Jaehyuk and Asahi had probably played their whole life to this game because they were definitely better than you were.
"Oh I forget to say it before but the loser have to cook for the three winners" Asahi said once you'd already lost. "What ? Hey that's unfair!" You protested, whining like a kid. "I'm hungry Y/n hurry up" Yedam teased, a cocky smile on his face.
You sighed and got up, walking to the kitchen as you were murmuring 'how unfair this situation was' and 'if they're hungry they just have to cook by themselves' even though you were still gonna cook for the three boys.
"Faster Y/n ! I'm craving for ramen right now" Asahi teased too, you could hear that he was smiling and it made you more upset 'bastard' you muttered to yourself.
_________
You were cooking Asahi's favorites ramen when a hand softly fell on your waist, making you gasp, the owner of the hand was behind your back and you couldn't see who it was."It's just me Y/n, I'm here to help you" a low voice whispering in your ear, making your heart beat faster, you recognized this voice, it was obviously Jaehyuk, his hand was warm against your waist "I noticed how upset you were to cook our meal so I want to help you, I hate to see you mad" he continued, the hand that was on your waist moving to take a knife "Let's cut vegetables it's always tastier when you put vegetables inside ramen" he said like if nothing just happened. "Not sure Asahi will like it" You mumbled, your cheeks still burning.
"Let's not care about what he likes, do you like it?" He asked, looking at you as you avoided any eye contact "Yes but-" you tried to speak only to be cut off by Jeahyuk "If you like it, let's do this".
To be honest Jaehyuk wasn't that bad at cooking... He was even good ! The ramen were the best you ever tasted and even Asahi liked it (he absolutely despise vegetables). However, during the whole meal you felt your cheeks burning again because of Jaehyuk eyes on you, even Yedam seemed to notice.
"What was that ?" Yedam nervously asked when you both entered in your room without your brother and his bestfriend. "What're you talking about Yedam?" You scoffed, you never saw Yedam this nervous before "You and Jaehyuk, Y/n it's a bad idea, Asahi will kill you if-" Yedam spoke fast "Yedam calm down we're not together or anything" You didn't let him finish his sentence as you talked.
"Good... I won't let him steal you from me" Yedam whispered while his long arms were wrapped around your waist, hugging you tightly. Yedam was like that, a little fluff ball who loves hug and any other type of affection, especially if it's with you but this time, it felt different, your cheeks were warm and butterflies were flying in your stomach."Hm... Do you want to sleep here Yedam ? We can do a movie night as usual" you said, your cheek against his chest as you were still hugging. "What a good idea in your small brain" he teased, pinching your cheeks.
You started by famous movies you'd already saw thousands times like LaLa Land, Pulp Fiction , La Boum, and even some of the Harry Potter movies when you suddenly saw that someone tried to text you.

You
How the fuck you have my number Jeongwoo
Park Jeongwoo 💀
A little bird told me (read : Yeseo)
See ya tomorrow Y/n
You
See ya.
You sighed, Yeseo was one of your friend and she was a cheerleader so she was close pf the basketball team in which Jeongwoo was. Yeseo was a perfect friend except the fact that she is a little bit naive, you still loved her.
"Who are you texting?" Yedam asked, his eyes leaving the screen. "Park Jeongwoo...This bitch found my ring and now he want me to hangout with him to give me back my ring" you whined, your body moving close to Yedam's to cuddle with him. "I can punch him if you want me to" he said confidently "No need to Yedam" you said while patting his chest .
"And...how's it going with the Dayeon girl ? Is my Yedamie in love ?" You teased Yedam making him blush hard, yes he was in love but obviously not with Dayeon, she was just a good friend and she wasn't even interested in boys. "Why? Jealous?" Yedam mocked, and now it was your turn to be flustered. "Absolutely fucking not." You exclaimed whilst hiding your head in his chest.
__________
"Hi Y/n, you're not late today" Doyoung cheerfully greeted you when you sat down beside him, ten minutes before the beginning of your first class. "Yedam woke me up today" you smiled but it only made Doyoung frown. "You slept with him?" He asked, he seemed tense. "Yup ! We did a movie night" you exclaimed happily, for Doyoung you were just an innocent baby that he need to protect from the mean high schooler.
"Oh Miss Y/n, Mr Doyoung you're here ! I wanted to talk to the both of you" your professor spoke as she went closer to your table. "Since Y/n's grades are getting lower I think it's a good thing if you tutor her" she said, looking directly at Doyoung and before you could answer, Doyoung talked "Sure we'll love to !". Your professor nodded happily.
You stared at your teacher walking away from you as you were still too stunned to speak "You were quick to accept Dobby" you laughed, the name made Doyoung uncontrollably blush. "Sorry, if you don't want you, I didn't mean to force you to do anything" he mumbled, embarrassed,he maybe got a bit carried away. "No Dobby,I want you to be my tutor, you're always the number one after all... and you're the kindest." You whispered the last part.
As the two of you were flustered, a high pitched voice caught your attention "Y/n ! Y/n-nie !" The cheerful voice could only belong to Yeseo. "Someone told me to told you to come in front of the chemistry classroom for lunch" she fastly spoke. "I... didn't understand anything" You assumed as you heard Doyoung laugh. "Hum...You have to meet someone in front of the chemistry classroom at lunch" she resumed, showing you her pretty smile "Oh okay I guess" you replied, Yeseo waved at you then walked away to her own class.
_____
It was lunch, you walked to the classroom like Yeseo told you before but who wanted to talk to you ?
"Y/n where are you going?" You heard a familiar voice behind you. "Someone is waiting for me, sorry Yedam !" You replied then walked away, letting Yedam alone.
When you arrived where the mysterious person was waiting for you, you saw the tall figure of the one you always hated : Park Jeongwoo "So, you came" he said in relieve. "Jeongwoo what do you want again?" You sighed, you would lie if you said that you felt nothing when he was talking to you, your heart always seems to beat faster when he's around, but you had too much pride.
"I feel guilty" he assumed, he wasn't looking at you anymore but at his feet, he looked ashamed. "Guilty for what ?" You sincerely asked. "Here, take your ring, I'm sorry" He handed you the ring he took the day before, you were highly confused by his behavior, Jeongwoo was always acting confident, it was the first time you saw him shy. You took the ring, sliding it to your finger, then you spoke "Well...Thanks I guess ?".
When you were about to go finding Yedam, Jeongwoo grabbed your wrist "Wait Y/n... You remember what I told you yesterday about finding me at the basketball court after school? If you w-want we can s-still hangout together." He stuttered, his body became suddenly red and sweaty. "And why would we do that ?" You genuinely asked. "To become closer ? You know hanging out but... as a date ?".
A date ? Jeongwoo wanted to have a date with you. THE Park Jeongwoo, the one you despised the most but also the one you make you flustered? You must be dreaming.
"A-a d-date ? Of course s-see ya!" You whispered before running away, what the hell was going on, Jeongwoo was taking you out for a date.
When you spotted Yedam talking with Yeseo, you rushed to see them : they definitely needed to know the conversation you just had with Jeongwoo. "Guys!" You exclaimed when you sat down. "Park fucking Jeongwoo asked me to go on a date with him!"You continued as Yeseo gasped, however Yedam stayed quiet. "That's amazing ! Please tell me you say yes!" Yeseo squealed happily. "Sure I said yes" You giggled. "Aren't you supposed to hate his guts ?" Yedam asked, seemingly angry. "Yedam I can't hate him my whole life, aren't you happy for me ?" You were worried when you spoke to him and when he didn't answered and just got up, you were even more worried, did you do anything wrong ?
"Y/n can you come over at mine after school ? You know for our study lessons." Doyoung said running to you when he saw you with Yeseo. "After school she can't she have a date" Yeseo giggled. "But after I can" you cleared your throat, hitting Yeseo arms for what she said. Doyoung seemed surprised "I'll text you my address, come when you can" his charming smile warmed your heart as he walked away.
______
School went by pretty quickly, so now you were walking to the basketball court, kind of nervous for your date with Jeongwoo. When you entered in the court you were surprised to see... no one, the court was empty.
"Guess who" someone whispered in your ear "J-Jeongwoo ?" You stuttered, your heard him giggle then he spin you around for you to face him "Since you guessed it right, you won a cheek kiss and a candy" he said before pecking your cheek and hand you a sweet which you took and quickly shoved in your mouth.
The date was beyond your expectation, Jeongwoo learnt you how to play basketball, then you walked together along the court, just talking. "Y/n before I'll have to go, I'd like to ask you something" Jeongwoo talked, holding your hand "Why do you hate me?" He continued, the question hitting you. "Well... I don't hate you anymore but before I kind of... tought you were annoying and noisy" you explained. "Just for that ?" He chuckled, squeezing your hand "Yeah, that's childish I know" you said, obviously embarrassed.
"I have to go Y/n, I hope we can hangout like that again, bye!" He quickly pecked your cheek then walked, leaving you stunned.
After some seconds you took your phone only to see that Doyoung texted you his adress.
Your tutoring session wasn't as boring as you thought and Doyoung was a really good tutor, you liked his company, however Doyoung wasn't flirting with you , it sound stupid but Doyoung always flirt with everyone... except you. 'Am I that ugly ?' You thought when you entered in your home after the tutoring session, thinking about Doyoung.
"Your brother is sleeping" a voice woke you up from your daydream, you jumped slightly, scared by the voice. "Did I scare you, I'm sorry" the owner of the voice said, genuinely worried for you.
"J-Jaehyuk" you said when you saw him, he was the owner of the warm voice. "It's me, why are you coming back home so late?" He asked. "Doyoung was tutoring me" you answered, your eyes traveling on Jaehyuk figure. "I was so worried" he sighed in relieve, his arms suddenly mentioned you to come closer to him, and that's exactly what you did. "I missed you." Jaehyuk whispered in your ear whils his arms hugged your shoulders, his hug were definitely the best. "Now go to sleep, little one, you seems tired" he guided you to your room, then left you alone with your heart beating like crazy : what's going on.
During one month every of that continues :
Jeongwoo took you on many dates and they always were incredible, he often kissed your cheeks and held your hands, making your cheeks go warm.
Doyoung was still tutoring you and your chemistry grades got a lot better but everytime you saw him flirting with a girl, you suddenly felt insecure, you wanted him to flirt with you and not with the others.
Jaehyuk was basically living with you and claimed the couch as his bed. Everytime you came back for school he was here to sweetly talk to you, making you feel loved.
Yedam, however, was still distant to you, you guys were not like before, he was obviously hiding something to you. Everytime you talk to him about Jeongwoo, he suddenly seems mad and that tear your heart apart.
______
"School is ...OVER it's weekend !" Yeseo high pitched voice resonate in the hallway when she spoke, only making you giggle at how cute your friend was, you were also excited because the day after, Saturday, you'd a date with Jeongwoo and he told you he has something to tell you. Before you walked out, someone grabbed your hand softly "Y/n do you wanna study together tomorrow? I really want to spend some time with you" Doyoung asked, his hand leaving yours to fall straight against his body. "Hum yeah I'll text you my answer!" You said with a smile.
Your smile fastly faded when you received a text from Yedam.

I’m starting over on my rec list
I ended up dropping some of the comics I’ve recommended before, so I’m only going to recommend completed stories from now on.
A Shoulder to Cry On (Dongmul)
When Dayeol is framed for assault by Taehyun, he nearly loses his archery scholarship. But instead of feeling the least bit remorseful for nearly ruining Dayeol’s life, Taehyun starts to torment Dayeol even further.
I can’t tell you how much I hated Taehyun in the beginning of this story, but by the end, my heart belonged to him. I usually don’t like assholes with sad backstories as love interests, but Taehyun is the exception.
Trigger warning for self-harm.
Official English translation available on Lezhin.
.
Fools (Yeongha)
Shounen Ai - After overhearing a fight that new student Jeongwoo had with his boyfriend, college senior Eungi finds himself becoming increasingly confused about his feelings toward Jeongwoo. Jeongwoo, meanwhile, fresh out of a long and rocky relationship, isn’t ready to act on his feelings toward Eungi. Commence awkward not-dates.
This is the most relatable depiction of the uncomfortable early stages of a romance that I’ve ever seen. It also shows how trauma from past toxic relationships can affect new, healthy ones. But it’s never too heavy-handed about it. It’s really funny at times, but also has its fair share of angst.
In the official English translation, their names are Edward and Justin, but I think it’s weird when they do that.
Official English translation removed by author from all official platforms.
.
Heesu in Class 2 (Lily Zuzu)
Shounen Ai - Despite both being big dumb idiots who don’t know anything about relationships, Heesu and his next door neighbor Seung Won agree to help each other out with their respective secret crushes. Little does Heesu know, he is the real subject of Seung Won’s affection.
Heesu’s and Seung Won’s best friends are the best wingmen, and extra points for one of them being a well-written female character. My only complaint is that I wasn’t interested in the second couple at all, but if you tend to like side pairs, you’ll probably like them.
Official English translation available on Lezhin.
.
How to Hate Mate (Reck, Yeongha)
Alternate Title: Hate Mate
Shounen Ai - Two years ago, Subin drunkenly confessed his feelings to his straight roommate, Hyunwoo. After that, Hyunwoo left for his mandatory military service, and Subin hasn’t heard from him since. Just when Subin is finally ready to move on, Hyunwoo reappears and things get complicated.
Listen. Hate Mate hurt me in a big way. Don’t read this if you’re looking for the warm fuzzies, because you will not find them here. I loved this story for its realism. All the characters are seriously flawed, and even though it ended the way I hoped it would, nothing feels fully resolved. This comic will hurt you and skip the aftercare. Anyways, have fun.
The authors announced that they are working on a second season, so I guess this one is technically ongoing. But if I don’t like the new ending, I’ll pretend season 2 didn’t happen.
Official English translation has been removed from Lezhin.
.
Just Kidding (Cho Hyerim)
Alternate Title: A Strange Joke
Shounen Ai - Min Kim is an unremarkable college student who is firmly in the closet. Sijun is a heartthrob who, for reasons Min can’t fathom, has taken a sudden interest in him. As the two grow closer, Min can’t help but wonder if their connection is more than friendship.
This story holds a special place in my heart. It will have you ugly crying in one chapter and ugly laughing in the next. Min and his friends are a bunch of drunken dumbass college students in the best way.
Trigger warning for grooming.
Official English translation available on Pocket Comics.
.
Roommates (Young Seok)
Shounen Ai - Kisub just needs to crash on Jinwoo’s couch for a few days, or months, or forever. Which is a problem, because Jinwoo has secret feelings for Kisub, and they’re bound to come out eventually.
Roommates is just too funny. The art style and story are pretty simple, but it has a lot of funny little details that make it relatable. Jinwoo is affected by the tiniest things that Kisub does, like putting a medication patch on his neck. Oh if he were an icy hot patch against that neck…
The second season is a new story, completely independent from season one. It’s not as light-hearted as the first season, but like it too.
Trigger warning for sexual assault in season 2.
Official English translation available on Tappytoon.
.
Shape of Your Love (Park Nodeok)
Alternate Title: For Your Love
Shounen Ai - Jung Yohan thinks unrequited love is for idiots, but joke’s on him, because he’s the biggest idiot of them all. When Yohan realizes that his upperclassman Moogyeong has feelings for another guy, he makes it his mission to get the pair together. But the more time he spends with Moogyeong, the more he resents Moogyeong’s secret crush.
Yohan is easily the best thing about this manhwa. He has the greatest facial expressions. There is a spinoff involving two side characters from this story, but I haven’t read it and I don’t plan to.
Official English translation available on Pocket Comics.
.
Someone Else’s BL Manhwa (Bbobariee)
Shounen Ai - Loner by day and cross-dresser by night, Kim Seunghee has managed to keep his double life a secret, until he’s caught in drag after a bad date by class president Park Seungtaek and class trouble maker Lee Kyubin. I’m not even gonna spoil who the pairings are, because it’s not immediately apparent.
Seunghee is a bit of a brat, but that’s part of his charm. He’s not for everyone, but he’s my favorite character. All of the characters turn out to be different from how they first seem, which I adore. There is a HUGE portion of the comic dedicated to the side pairing (hence the title) but both the main and side pairings are cute as hell.
This was one of the first BL comics that I read, so there’s a nostalgia factor there for me. I honestly love it too much to be objective about it. Do I love it because it’s good or is it good because I love it?
Official English translation available on Tappytoon.
.
Soulmate (Bing Ke Ran, Wenzhi Lizi)
Shoujo Ai - 27-year-old Yu Qi has been dating Yuan Zi since college, but Yuan Zi’s health has been declining. When Yu Qi wakes up one morning ten years in the past, in her 17-year-old body, she decides to use it as an opportunity to meet Yuan Zi sooner and prevent her illness. Meanwhile, 17-year old Yu Qi wakes up in her present-day body and doesn’t know Yuan Zi.
This is such a sweet story. The girls are so cute together, and I love everything about Yuan Zi. A beautiful romance that will make you believe in soulmates.
Official English translation available on Tapas.
.
Unintentional Love Story (Pibi)
Shounen Ai - Wonyoung is fired from his job after being falsely incriminated in a corruption scandal. By sheer luck, he happens to run into the company chairman’s favorite ceramic artist, Yoon Taejun, who has been living under an alias. He’s told he will likely get his job back if he could convince Taejun to partner with the company. Wonyoung tries to get close to Taejun without revealing that he knows his true identity. What he doesn’t plan on, though, is falling in love with Taejun.
This one is where the DRAMA is at. The story doesn’t ignore the fact that the relationship was built on a lie. It hurts so good.
Official English translation available on Lezhin.

Tumblr media
“Yn” you say taking the hand he offered you to shake
“How do you like the school so far?” He asks
“Well it’s only 8 in the morning and this is the first class of the day so I don’t know” you say shrugging
“Oh yeah, right! Uh so Uh what is your lunch period?” He asks
“5th”
“I have that hour! Do you want to eat with me and my friend Cidney?” He asks. You ear does a slight twitch gaining his attention. He was just now noticing that you were a hamster.
“Something we have in common” he thinks to himself
It was refreshing to see another hamster hybrid other than himself and the art teacher.
“Uh yeah sure” you say
“Great! We’ll come get you what’s your fourth period?” Sunoo asks making you shake your head
“Uh no need for that, I can find the lunchroom. Thanks though” you say causing him to nod
“O-okay. Did you think about joining any clubs?” He asks making you sigh
“Your like the third person to ask me this. I don’t think I want to” you say shrugging
You were kind of nonchalant and it looked as if you didn’t want to bothered with him or anything around you.
“Uh okay that’s understandable. I hope you like it here” Sunoo says leaning back into his seat
“Yeah. Me too” you say turning your attention back to your phone, pulling the big solo beats back over your ears to blast Megan the stallion
Sunoo looked over your features. You were really pretty. You had wide brown eyes, a medium size button nose that shinned from the brown highlight you had applied earlier with two nose rings and septum hanging. You brown chubby cheeks shinned with the same highlight. Your small brown ears rested on your head, almost hidden by your fro.
Sunoo let his eyes drop from your features to your clothing and accessories. Your neck had different types of crystals draped around them along with an evil eye.
Both of your wrists had different colored beaded bracelets and your fingers adorn silver and gold rings. Honestly you were aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Tumblr media
Sunoo looked up as you and…jeongwoo walked into the lunchroom. He put a hand on you shoulder and you immediately started smiling at something he said. He returns the smile before handing you a strawberry milk box.
You nod your head thanking him before he walks off. You scan the room looking for Sunoo. You spot him walking over to the table. Sunoo burned holes into the carton.
You finally sat down into the chair across from him. You give a wave putting your bag into the chair next to you
“Where’s your friend?” You ask
“On her way. She had to make up some stuff.” He mumbles
“Oh okay. Is she nice?” You asks
“Very friendly. Where’d you get strawberry milk?” He asks
“Oh my science partner gave it to me. He said it’s a welcome gift” you say poking the straw through the tiny hole
“Mm” Sunoo says watching as you brought the stare to your gloss covered lips. He so desperately wanted to grab it and throw it in the trash. How dare Jeongwoo give you something.
Then Sunoo had an epiphany. Why was he angry? What was he so jealous about? Why was he acting so territorial over you? You two just met this morning.
“Hey! Sorry I’m late but I got us snacks- hello and who are you?” Are girl with vibrant orange hair asks
“Yn. I’m new” you flatly says
“Oh.my.gosh!!! Your just the most beautiful thing!” She says. Her southern belle attitude brought a smile to your face
“Thank you. I like your hair” you say
“Well thank you. Sunoo said it’ll bring to much attention” she says sitting down next to you
“Some attention is good” you say nodding
“Tell him again-Oh my! Are you a hamster?!” She asks making you nod
She points to you then Sunoo who starts to flush. He already knew what was coming next
“Oh my gosh! What a kawinkidink that there are two of you?” She asks
“Cindy…don’t start. We’re not the only hamsters here” Sunoo says covering his face
“Besides the art teacher, you are! You two are like meant to be” she says smirking
“Stop embarrassing me! Your going to scare her off!” He mumbles
“Im sorry but think about it! The same hybirds end up together. Taehyun and beomgyu are cats. They are together! Milian and Shawn they are both ferrets! They’re together. It’s basically inevitable” she says shrugging
“Arent you a cat attracted to a dog?” Sunoo asks with a raised brow
“I was! You know I’m feeling Jungwon” she says
“Okay whatever let’s stop talking about it, Yn might not be comfortable” he says pointing at you
“Huh?” You ask pulling off the solo beats
“See she didn’t even hear us! Nothing sweatpea what’s your schedule like?” She asks taking your schedule off the table
Sunoo sighed shaking his head. There couldn’t be a chance and heaven that a girl as pretty as you was his soul mate.
Cindy leans over with a smirk to whisper in his ear
“You know they say hybrids of the same kind are destined to be together” she says making him groan
“That’s a myth Cindy that’s not even true!” He says
“Is too! That’s why me and Jungwon will be together!” She says in confidence
“It’s not! My mom is a rabbit and my dad is a hamster. It’s not true!” He says
“So your like…hamster and rabbit?” She asks
“No I’m fully hamster and my sister is rabbit” Sunoo explains
“Oh my gosh! What if you and Yn make cute little hamster rabbit babies!” She says with excitement
“Cindy stop!” Sunoo shouts causing her to giggle
Tumblr media
Sunoo walks into his house with a sigh. Throwing his bookbag down plopping down first face.
“Sunoo? That you?” He heard his dad say
“Yeah!” He shouts
“Your home early…no hanging with Cindy?” His mother asks
“No. She embarrassed me in front of the new girl” Sunoo says muffled
“How so?” His mom asks sitting down next to him on the couch
“It’s this new girl and she’s a hamster and Cindy kept going on about how we’re meant to be and we’ll have cute hamster babies” Sunoo says
“She still going on about that silly old myth?” His das asks
“Yeah” Sunoo mumbles
“I remember her mother going on and on about it high school. She was a nice girl…you remember her honey?” His dad asks
“Yeah! She was a sweet girl! Such a shame what happened to her” his mom said
“Back to me please!” Sunoo says
“Oh yes sorry! Is she nice?” His mom asks
“Yeah. She’s really pretty but she also has her moments where she’s very nonchalant” Sunoo says
“Strong silent type…invite her over for dinner” his dad says
“Dad…I don’t know her! I can’t just invite her over for dinner” Sunoo says
“Well invite her to hang out with you and Cindy. I’m sure she needs some friends seeing as she new” his dad says
“What if she thinks I’m weird because of Cindy” he asks
“Who cares? She’s just a girl” Sunoo sister says walking into the house and up the stairs
“I also got mad that another guy gave her a milk box” Sunoo mumbles ignoring his sister
“You were jealous?” His mom asks
“I-I think I was” Sunoo says
“Maybe it was meant to be” his dad says teasing him
“Dad!” Sunoo pouts getting up from his seat on the couch. His parents laughing at him as he made it to his room
Tumblr media
“How was your first day?” Your dad asks
“It was cool. I meet another hamster” you say
“Really? You know we’re kind of extinct”your dad say is making you cringe
“I hate how you talk about us as if we’re animals” you say scowling
“But we are yn. Rather you like it or not” he says
“We’re human just like we are animals. It’s 50/50” you say
“Yeah but full humans don’t see us that way” he says
“Whatever dad” you mumble with an eye roll
“What’s his name?” He asks
“Sunoo. He has orange hair” you mumble
“Mmm orange. I remember you wanted orange hair. You begged your mother so hard she caved in. Now we can’t get you to stay away from hair dyes” he says chuckling
“Yeah.” You say flatly
“Do you think you’ll like it here?” He asks
“I don’t know. I miss home. Our old home. With Jordan and cami” you say
“Well Jordan and cami didn’t want to be apart of our home…so now they’re somewhere they want to be” he says making you even more mad
“You don’t even know where they are! Do you even care where your kids are?” You ask
“They made there decisions! They left! They left knowing your mother’s condition!” He shouts
“It was your fault for pushing a Sick women onto high school graduates! If I were them I’d leave to”
“Yn shut up! You don’t know what your talking about! Another word and your grounded” he says making you chuckle
“See if I care. It’s not like I have anything to do anyway” you mumble
