summary: after a twitter thread was made talking about the struggles you faced in a horrible way, you release a song you wrote with charles to talk about it

authors note: i am in no way saying olivia has struggled with or is dealing with anything mentioned in this story. this song means alot to me as someone who struggles with both addiction and my mental health so if im projecting..no one needs to know😁 i honestly have no clue how this is going to turn out but we will see. anything in bold italics is french

authors note 3: after reading it over i realised i never actually explained what i was talking about in the song thread so quickly, charles’ and yn split for a short period after yn started shutting him out, she spoke to someone (the stranger) who helped her start to extend the branches back out to charles and they got back together around 11 ish months before the song was released!! the fans never knew why they broke up, there was some speculation but most of it was dropped when they got back toegther

you are not weak for struggling, you are not weak for finding ways to cope, no matter what they may be, you are not weak for shutting people out and you are not weak for reaching out for help, no matter how little you think you need it. you deserve help, no matter how small your problems may seem to you, you are worthy of being safe, you are worthy of being happy

Eddie looks cute sitting in front of your desk in your soft backed chair. He's curious but careful as he picks over pen stands and coloured pencils.

"Can I see some of your work?" he asks.

You could kiss him right there for calling it 'work'. He's never once been dismissive about your art, though most everyone else in your life calls it a hobby or your 'little side job'.

You stand up from the bed and move to his side. His arm wraps around your waist lightly, easy as you open the desk drawer for your current small sketchbook where you thumbnail paintings.

"All my canvases are down in the garage," you say.

"I'd love to see them."

He opens your sketchbook with infinite care, arm quickly stolen from your skin. You hover anxiously by his side, waiting for his verdict. He's quiet as he turns each page, not patronising you in pretending that every single sketch is interesting, but an honest peruse of your talents.

He stops on a drawing of him. Quite recent, you'd forgotten all about it. In his club shirt with the sleeves pushed up, a quick rendering of the planes and shadow of his arms, less detail but enough to make out his face through a curtain of curls.

"Is it biased if I say this is the best one?" he asks, hands splayed over the page, face turned to you. He's grinning.

"Very biased," you say. "I've messed up all your tattoos. You were moving too fast."

He turns to the page and raises his eyebrows. "They look just fine to me."

He's lying, of course. They're blurs of dark without detail.

"You have to say that."

"I don't have to do anything," he says. You shiver as his hand wraps around your back again, his touch featherlight. A ring scrapes your skin as he slips his fingers under the fabric of your t-shirt.

"If you'd only stay still," you whine.

He tips his head back and pouts at you mockingly for a split-second before chuckling warmly. "You're tortured, bub."

The pet name has your chest aflame with heat. You look at his shirt rather than his face, toying gently with one of his messy dark curls. "Whatever," you say, wanting to move on before he does something to tease you.

He pushes the chair back and encourages you into his lap. You sit tentatively on his leg, aware of every point of contiguity between you as his hand finds your soft tummy over your shirt. The other arm he lays flat on your desk.

"Take a look."

You rub your face with your shoulder, unsure. Eddie squeezes you, reassuring. "Go on."

Your relationship is new enough that you haven't seen every tattoo properly. You leap at the chance to study them. Despite your nervousness at this proximity you lean forward on his knees and take his arm into your hands.

You like the first one over the smooth inner stretch of his forearm, it suits him, a demon of some sort puppeteered by a bony hand. Turning his arm over, you find his flock of bats tapering over his elbow. Familiar, you could likely draw them from memory.

You're holding your breath as you turn in the circle of his arm, finger pushing carefully under his shirt sleeve to expose the scary bird/lizard amalgamation that you don't recognise, its frilled spines flared and its mouth open.

"I like them," you say.

He pulls you up his leg. "Yeah?"

"Mm. Would you ever get something in colour?"

"Sure, I'd love some colour. S'just expensive as shit, so…"

He sounds embarrassed. It's not what you meant to do, and you rush to fix it with a spur of the moment thought.

"Could I colour one?"

"Could you?" he asks, voice low, laughing a laugh that's more breath than sound.

You burn, shifting forward to take a marker into your hands. He keeps a good hold on your abdomen to keep you anchored. It's nice.

You take a light red into your hands, slow and steady as you set it to his pale skin and fill in the majority of his demon. Then, with a slightly darker red, the midtones. You round it out with a dark purple in the shadows, giving the demon a more three dimensional feel.

"Is it too cold?" you ask as you go, voice a murmur.

Eddie rubs the tip of his nose against your shoulder. "It's fine."

"You don't want to watch?"

"No way. Tell me when you're done, I want the full effect. Blow me away."

You nod and flush with heat and finish up as the heat of his body soaks into yours, relaxing in his lap as time passes.

"There," you say, capping a black fineliner. "I'm done, Eds."

Eddie pushes his chin over your shoulder to take in what you've done.

"Baby, that's fucking sick. Oh my god," he sounds sad, beggy, in that awful way boys do. "I want that for keeps."

You smile because you're glad he likes it. You'd thought you'd done a pretty good job, too.

"You have talented hands," he says into your ear, voice warped by a clear double entendre.

You melt, a shiver coursing down your back as you lean towards him unthinkingly.

"I'm not gonna shower. I need it forever."

Spell quickly broken, you wrinkle your nose. "That's disgusting."

"That's punk rock, babe."

im going to put my answers below bc i know some of these vids are likely not returning to dnp and i do agree with that i just wanted to do a fun poll abt if you could have another of these vids then which would you choose. ofc like ive said before we have no control over dnp uploads and i fully know some of these won’t come back lol

she surprisingly got up, stumbling around before she threw a hand at me. she punched my nose and scratched my cheek.

i felt the burning sensation on my cheek and my blood sprinting down my cheek.

“you motherfucker!”

she furiously yelled at me, with tears running down her face, mixing in with the blood.

my eyes shot down to the gym floor. it was one big puddle of blood. i grinned crazilyーlike a fucking serial killer.

we were both standing in fighting positions, ready to quite literally kill each other.

i caught chris’ big blue orbs staring at me. he was also grinning. he knew the rivalry that me and amelia have; that’s why he never stopped me.

the crowd was chanting my name. they all backed me up on this rivalry comepletely.

our faces were both decorated with blood. but mine didn’t have tears streaming down them.

i knew i was going to penalized for the tournament. i most definitely was; without question.

this beef wasn’t with any of our other teammates, it was only between me and her. though everybody knew what amelia did to me last season.

the referees and her teammates finally pulled us away from each other. both screaming profanities at eachother.

but suddenly whilst she was walking back to her bench. she fell. its all because i knocked her outー

as my coach walked me to the locker room, i heard cheering, applause and more loud chanting of my name. they all knew the beef between amelia and i.

i got to the locker room with my coach and sat down.

“you’re expecting me to yell at you or something, hm?”

my coach monique said.

“yep.”

“well i’m not. i’m so proud of you for beating that bitch up.”

coach monique laughed.

“thank you! i thought everybody thought i was a monster for doing that”

“you’re a monster on the court. but thatーthat was just handing pure business.”

“thank you coach”

coach monique walked back out the the court to settle my team and talk to the refs.

suddenly, chris walked in to the locker room.

“oh hey chris”

“hey baby”

he went in to hug me but i gestured no.

“unless you want blood on your shirt, i don’t think you should.”

“i don’t really care”

he hugged me tightly and i hugged right back.

“so how’d the fight even start y/n?” chris questioned

“well first she slapped me because i was supposedly “cheating” then told me that you were only dating me because i was a “good fuck” and you didn’t love me”

i explained calmly.

“that little bitch.” chris said low-toned.

“and that’s exactly why her nose is crooked as fuck”

i grinned, remembering how her nose looked.

“i’m gonna go back to the stands and get to car.” chris said.

“okay see you in a bit baby”

he gave me a swift kiss on the lips and walked out the locker room.

i grabbed a wet towel and dabbed at my cuts and bruisesーa burning sensation each time i dabbed at them.

changing back into my clothes and taking my sports bag. i head to the car and greet my friends.

i hated the media. and now they were following me.

i stepped out the door and walked to car where all my friends were. i ran up to nick first.

“hey babes!” nick said excitedly.

“hey nickk” matching his same energy.

group hugging lauren and angelina (angie) happily while getting tons of dumb questions from the media that was previously following me.

also greeting matt aswell, making sure to make him smile.

parking into the driveway, me, matt, chris, and nick got out the car and heading inside the house.

nick and matt went to their rooms, leaving me and chris to go to our shared one.

“i need a shower” i said.

“okay baby i’ll go after you” chris said.

i closed the bathroom door and started stripping my clothes off. once fully done, i stepped inside the shower, turning the water on and letting the water stream down.

the water mixed in with the little blood that was left on me. falling on the shower tiles.

i took my loofah and put soap on it and watched it grow soap suds on it. i got lost in relaxing feeling of hot water and sudsy soap. it just rejuvenated me.

hopping out the shower, and drying myself with my towel. i threw on my clothes that were laid out on the counter. i opened the bathroom door and felt the cold air rush past me.

i stretched out on the shared bed and get a call.

it’s from my aunt. she never calls me. why now?

“hey y/n it’s me”

my aunt sounded like she was crying. but why?

“yes auntie?”

“y/n y-you’re parents died.”

i dropped my phone on the bed.

no. this is some kind of sick joke.

my eyes darted everywhere, trying to register what i just heard.

they couldn't have died. i saw them last night when they flew to London.

when they disappointed me telling me they couldn't make it to my game. i had totally forgot about that when i looked around in the stands.

then, i broke out into a loud, ugly, sob.

chris’ eyes immediately shot to me.

“what happened y/n??” his voice laced with worry and concern.

"my parents- they-" i couldn't finish my sentence.

"take your time ma" chris said gently.

i could hardly believe my parents died. it just wasn't possible.

chris hugged me tightly and kissed my forehead, trying to get me to calm down.

i sobbed. i loved my parents so much. sure we weren't on the best terms with eachother lately. but i still loved them dearly.

and the worst part is, the last thing i ever said to them but "i hate you both"

"chris the last thing i said to them wasn't even i love you!" i wailed, still sobbing.

"shh y/n" chris calmed.

then chris just held me there. no words. no sound. nothing.

just silence.

he knew what had happened by the hints i dropped.

i just couldn't bring myself to say it. not yet.

i awoke, wrapped in chris' arms. i looked over the time,

1:56pm

a solid 13 hours of sleep.

yet i still felt tired.

i had no energy. so many missed calls and texts.

i knew what they were all gonna say,

"We're so sorry for your lost! If there's anything we can do to help let us know."

well you most certainly cant fix those empty parental figures;

hell, i'm an orphan now.

so bullshit.

i opened tiktok bored out of my mind and started scrolling.

i saw a tiktok of a girl who looked around my age with both her mom and dad , doing a dance.

why cant that be me?

i was at my desk a couple minutes later, hatching a plan.

because what if my parents really weren't dead,

what they faked it?

well its time to find out.

chris woke up groggily,

"morning ma" he yawned.

"morning baby" i answered swiftly.

"what are you doing?" he asked.

"we're flying to london."

OOOH okay SO theres this book called Just Ash by Sol Santana, and the main character is intersex!! ive only ever once seen an intersex character in a piece of media, and that was 7 years ago. Oh, this is easy peasy lemon squeezy. If you’re an autistic person with a love of lore and stories, there’s no better match for you than Guy, our resident storyteller!

One, we love an A4A relationship, and Guy has got to be the dictionary picture of an AuDHD dude, you know? Two, Type Two’s are characterized as being friendly, giving people who want to love and be loved, and Guy would be a good match for you because he is just so loving, so affectionate. I’m not gonna lie- I don’t super know what this song means, and neither would Guy. I do know that it’s fun, it’s a love song, it’s indie rock, and it’s a classic. This strikes me as the type of song that Guy knows all the words and can perform without a second thought, thus he loves turning it up and singing it at you whenever it comes on in the car.

Runner-Ups:

David is a runner-up for you because I love A4A pairings, and David is my favorite Redacted boi to headcanon as autistic after Guy. However, I do prefer Camelopardalis as a runner up; he’s not autistic, but I think his nature is more outwardly effusive and affectionate than David’s which would be better for a Type Two.

I love all these lfmb memories 😭taking me back to my childhood and happier times. The part where Fernando shows up with her diary, and he says he liked her drawing, it kinda looked like a child had drawn it, I laughed a little bit, was that just me? Don't you think they infantilized Lety a tad too much in this version? At least pre-Acapulco that's the vibe I got from seeing her purse, her desk decor, and just the overall way she behaved. Not that there's anything wrong with this because considering how sheltered she was, it made sense. Moreover, it is an adaptation so I'm fine with the characters having a different approach. But do you think that it was done on purpose to soften her part in the affair and the financial fraud? A lot of the harsh criticism people have for Betty is that she was "the other woman", so perhaps they wanted to portray Lety as more innocent (she's even deeply religious and is shown going to church constantly) although it kinda goes against the intent behind Betty's character as a whole which was to present a morally gray and flawed protagonist. Also, when they go to Cuernavaca, she will not sleep with him again and tells him over and over that she feels guilty and bad for doing that to Marcia. Just something I thought about after seeing your post about her diary and the drawing.

No, bc I laughed too. It's hard to take seriously despite Fernando being so sincere. Betty's diary is shown to have doodles but not drawings like Lety's. Weird that she drew stick figures when I think in this version they established that Lety was an artist of sorts.

Yes, they did infantilize her too much but they also infantilized Fernando too in a lot of ways. So it's fine? (Equality?).

I think their mutual infantilization was done for multiple reasons. Bc it's sole genre was comedy, bc it was meant to be 'family friendly', bc producers wanted this version to be different fm the original. Ive said before and I'll say it again, Rosy Ocampo (the producer) is the main reason the mexican version is like that. Bc she specialized in children's programing--that's why you have Marcia at the end saying she learned her lesson and now she's a good person who will never judge someone by their appearance. (Marcela would never say that, lol).

It's also a similar issue to Betty in BeNY, where they don't know how to deal with a character that's incredibly naive but incredibly smart. So in this version they go to the extreme with Lety but for comedy's sake. Regarding her upbringing--the relationship Lety has with her parents feels even more....She's more of the quintessential 'good girl'\'good daughter' than Betty is bc she lacks Betty's inner rebelliousness. For example, she ends up telling her dad that she lied about her job at Conceptos, that she started as a secretary who later got promoted. Why? Bc kids shouldn't lie to their parents. It's the hidden message imo.

But do you think that it was done on purpose to soften her part in the affair and the financial fraud?

A little bit. It's a tiny part of the 'multiple reasons' bit.

There's a part in the filler where Fernando has a daydream nightmare where Don Erasmo confronts him and says 'you corrupted my daughter by involving her in fraud AND an affair'. Which i thought was interesting bc now its presented to the audience that Fernando feels he is to blame for things Lety's done and that he feels guilty of said corruption. It's similar but different take to how Armando sees Betty's fragility and innocence.

Actually, a lot of the filler is spent on establishing that Fernando and Lety feel guilty for what they're doing. And that does feel like it's on purpose. It reads like the morality police.

A lot of the harsh criticism people have for Betty is that she was "the other woman", so perhaps they wanted to portray Lety as more innocent'...

Betty to this day gets a lot of criticism for being the other woman and for standing up for herself. And for ending up as president of ecomoda while Marcela leaves empty handed. When it was originally airing and it was revealed that Betty wasn't a virgin....it was a big deal. It's literally unheard of for female telenovela protags to have any sexual experience. She was a trendsetter. But yes, she is morally grey and complex. Lety is not morally grey at all despite making similar choices to her original counterpart. That's not a crime. But it is done on purpose---so that the general audience roots for her.

Nothing is really Lety's fault bc she was just a naive girl in love. And she feels bad about everything all the time so it's okay that these things happened the way they happened.

I've yet to see Lety be criticized the way Betty is in comment sections, btw.

I haven't rewatched the last third of the filler, but yeah despite having multiple opportunities to have sex again they don't bc Lety's feels guilty, which is insanely stupid and done in part bc of the original script and also bc they need show the audience that Lety is a Good Person Who Thinks Of Others.

Meanwhile in the original the only reason Betty doesn't sleep with him again is because she reads the letter and believes he never loved her. It's not because of guilt. If she had never read it, I can assure you that after the Arboleda event Armando would have gotten lucky. At the very least, heavy making out in his car.

Sidenote, Lety and Fernando should have slept together a third time if they wanted the letter to actually hit Lety where it hurts after all that filler. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

Also htf never does anything special wih their come backs imo, take Still Alive for example so I DID expect for the episode to be just a regular episode. But that wasnt even an episode like 😭😭😭

YEAH THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING the other game tie ins were all REALLY GOOD EPISODES that if you didnt know were technically ads you wouldnt know! bc all there is about the game is right at the end! theyre just THEMED around them so it still makes you wanna get the game but its enjoyable in its own right! this was just. ugh.

its so annoying that people fuck you over despite your kindness like really... is it SO hard to be nice to people back 😭 like im tired of being the only one who gives a shit. and it's so fucking annoying because they always wanna know shit about my life asking me as a friend like for gossip purposes.. "omg what happened during your ----? who's ----?" but in return when i ask them too ???? literally i know nothing about my own friends . its so sad because i genuinely care for them but to them im just somebody 😭 like its so fucking hard. they never tell me anything about them while they expect me to tell them everything about my personal life? that's not how that works bro like i get that some things are private but seriously? they'll talk about those same private things about their crushes and boyfriends in front of me but won't tell me when i ask about it ? and don't even think that im a snitchy type of person because im not. they might have their reasons not to tell me but i'm so fucking sure that they just don't consider me as that close of a friend (because ofc, i become an actual friend only when they need me 💀) all i have ever done was be good to them and yet they treat me like this. obviously, ive learnt from this a long time before and i stopped telling them stuff abt my private life too since they won't tell me theirs, but it fucking hurts. because ive been friends with them for so long. and i realised that i don't know them at all. i don't mind if they talk about their stuff in front of me bc i know not to ask— i simply don't give that much of a fuck about their crush or whatever. but the fact that they're allowed to know shit about me but im not, is pissing me off and im so glad that we're going off to different schools soon. fuck them for being so shitty to me when i never did anything to them. i didn't even wanna speak abt this in the morning but i just saw some other things which led me to becoming so irritated. anyways bye 🏃‍♀️

Obi-Wan is sooo brave for taking these leaps of faith, I love him so much. He makes a resolution in the next chapter (though it will be a bit hard for him to act on):

The most important thing is this: Anakin still doesn’t know what he is. The second is this: He cannot be allowed to find out, or Obi-Wan will lose him. Anakin may have married him for reasons Obi-Wan will never know, but being an alpha is surely a nonnegotiable part of that. Unless… Unless Anakin loved him. If Anakin, perhaps, were in love with him, the way Obi-Wan is in love with Anakin, then perhaps he could tell the truth. Perhaps he could be held and kissed and accepted in his entirety, as though he weren’t a failure of an alpha, a failure of an omega—

Baby hasn't even figured out that Anakin is already in love with him, or that Anakin doesn't give a shit that he's not an alpha. It's just so hard for him to detach his designation from his sense of self worth 🥺😔

And yes I made Anakin taste like cinnamon!! I only decided that an omega's slick tastes (mostly) the way their arousal smells like halfway through, so I'm SO GLAD that I gave him a good scent and not like. Something weird, idk. Some things smell good but I do not want them in my mouth. Also I'm not sure if you remember this post but it sure does lend a whole extra layer of meaning to it 😂

The scruffing I'm so absolutely obsessed with and idk why! Obi-Wan's emotions have been so out of control in these last few chapters, and it's such a sweet way for Anakin to lend him comfort, while also being hot as fuck in the right circumstances. I need him to pavlov Obi-Wan into getting horny when he scruffs him.

(Also please study for your math quiz baby, the sex will be there to reread when you finish 🙌)

OK this was literally like one of my favourite lines in this whole chapter ❤️❤️ It's so indicative of Obi-Wan's character and also the absolute root of their relationship problems. Obi-Wan is holding himself back from telling the truth, from telling Anakin he loves him, from biting him, all while Anakin is doing the same, because neither of them wants to scare the other away. (It also just hasn't occurred to Anakin that he hasn't said he loves Obi-Wan yet. He's so focused on holding himself back physically that he forgets about the words.)

Obi-Wan needs therapy soooo badly, poor thing. I love him but he is definitely unwell™. I don't want to say he's blowing things out of proportion (these feelings are obviously real and he's struggling with them a lot), but they are absolutely a byproduct of the way he keeps spiralling. He'll be feeling sky high one minute and then he'll crash to the ground again in the next. Some of this is his depression but also his hormones are out of wack because his supressants are failing!! 😬

I've been trying not to fall into that rut of "romantic partner cures depression magically" by having Obi-Wan slowly, like, rebuild his support system (Feemor and his friends), find an identity outside of being an alpha and being emperor (like that same thing from earlier about detaching his sense of self-worth from his designation and his job), indulging/discovering hobbies and interests (anthropology, embroidery, time with his friends), and showing vulnerability to others (Anakin is a big one here, but Karishma was an important milestone too).

On one hand I understand it's imporant to study but on the other hand !!! This fic also bounces around my head on a pogo stick 🤭🤭 I always love to see which things you noticed and which things you liked because it gives me so much motivation to keep writing, thank you!!! 🤗💕💕
