idk how conservatives and other bigots can ever think that more diversity = less safe of a community. the more queer, interracial, and muslim a community, the safer i feel. like how can you not see a whole load of people from different cultures and lives peacefully vibing in the same area minding their own buisness and NOT go 'oh thank god theres some level of tolerance here I can just be myself and not have to be constantly on edge all the time bc of it'

i genuinely love when you can tell an older show was Not made with high quality video viewing in mind. i am watching knight rider and constantly seeing all the little mistakes they surely brushed under the rug thinking nobody would see them on their crunchy little CRTs back in the 80s, that are huge attention grabbers now in HD fullscreen on my 3 foot computer monitor
the biggest one of course is all the drivers/controllers for the (in-universe) self driving car, kitt. there's guys tucked down in the footwells who can't always stay out of the shot. there's a guy who has a Car Seat Suit to blend in and look like the drivers seat from a distance, but you can always tell when that's the method they're using for a particular shot because its so much thicker than the passenger seat next to it and the headrest is missing it's cutout section. in at least one instance he starts taking the suit off too early, on a focus shot of the damn car, so its REAL visible.
all the extremely obvious stunt drivers or performers who look nothing like the character they're supposed to be
props, such as animals, vanishing from the car interior for stunt/race sequences.
the production crew (or their shadows) being visible in the background. only at a glance, but its especially hilarious in shots where nobody else is supposed to be around
the camera panning out from a sound stage set far enough that you can actually see over the edges of the set and into the stage they were filming in. mostly this happens with their truck trailer mobile unit thing.
this one isn't a mistake but every time the car "turbo jumps" they CLEARLY hide the ramp behind another car, a prop, the environment, and its just. so charming. sometimes its blatantly on screen just for a moment. like... of Course in real life this car isn't magically leaping 20 feet, of course its a ramp, but it's still so silly and fun to be reminded of how they were doing those stunts to begin with.
also not really a mistake but related, the bracket they keep on the front of the car for stunt work.... is just left on half the time. cuz it's a pain to take on and off.
and there are more examples that are more unique that haven't cemented themselves in my head well yet, but these are the more notable or common things i see and it's really charming. if i'm not giggling to myself noticing the "seams" and flaws and so human imperfections of your show or movie what EVEN is the point. hollywood is too flashy these days i think!

[ID: an illustration of Delores as a mermaid swimming in a pool and looking at Five. It is a distant overhead shot in 3 point perspective. They are in the ruins of what might be a courtyard or a bathhouse. The color palette is made of teals, oranges, pinks, and yellows. Also in the ruins are a handful of trees and plants, a stone bench, and a frieze of a mermaid. End ID.]
i dont really know what this is. why is delores a mermaid? what is this building? why is there a mermaid in it? what does this have to do with the umbrella academy? where did five find a mermaid? all of these questions and more are completely unanswered and you can decide for yourself. i just wanted to draw a mermaid, and tile, and five and delores, and a statue, all at the same time. enjoy!

revolutionising the world w my nanami video essay someday i promise you guys. in the meantime this is a playlist of daise approved utena video essays if you even care. i have um’d and ah’d about including the clear and sweet aou analysis series bc i think it’s wonderful in so many ways but do disagree with the fundamental read of the movie so. ehh. my general rule for including something on this playlist is ‘the analysis must be considered, somewhat original, something that i either agree with or think is valuable to keep in mind’. if there was less ‘the series isn’t as good’ and half-reaching at what my interpretation of aou is, then that aou series would probably be on here. i do recommend it but it just doesn’t feel right to have it on here sorryyy

starting to become obsessed with saix. i have to be real. like one of the only org members that it seems like really believes in the org. actually takes his job dead seriously. the days manga dynamic of axel specifically having to go toe to toe with saix to protect roxas and xion and their old connection slowly fraying because they can’t understand each other. joins the org AGAIN. VOLUNTARILY. when he gets recombined. has COMMITTED TO THE BIT. goes back on all of this instantly and completely and becomes normal and decides to help axel coparent his two kids immediately after 3 no hesitation. That’s what dying in a man’s arms does for a guy.

Is it impossibly cynical of me, when I see posts about reddit users finding tumblr so cozy and non-confrontational, to think to myself, "Oh honey, give it a year."
I mean, I came back here for reason, but I'm just saying, let's not pretend tumblr isn't also a PvP enabled zone. 😅

I really am so obsessed with the concepts presented in Warframe.
The tenno were once the soldiers of the oppressors, they were the blade of the revolution, they became the legend of the oppressed, they are an ever present ghost whispered about in fear by the oppressors of the current age. They are back with blade and gun in hand.
And then you find out they're just kids. Traumatized kids, experimented on kids, war trained kids.
Kids that made a deal with an eldritch entity that gave them psychic powers. So now they can control magic robot ninja warriors made from blueprints designed by injecting a bioweapon into soldiers until the scientists got the results they wanted.
Insane little game. Absolutely full of nonsense. I love it.

Fun fact, in the DR Development Plan, Fuyuhiko tries to invite the imposter to join the yakuza. Imposter saids no and then proceeds to read Fuyuhiko; "You're a good man, Fuyuhiko. Honorable as they come and pleasant company." 1) I feel like the Imposter is super empathetic to understand/take other people's identities. Hajime and Imposter works together to make sure all their classmates are doing well. 2) Would Kazuichi be upset he wasn't invited to join as well???
Anon u got me very happy rn
