Don't read this unless you want to ruin your day
Alright, I need to get something a bit controversial off my chest. Here goes:
Chrollo would still prize the troupe over his darling.
There, I said it! Here me out! The spider is everything he's ever fought for. He gave up his personality, his childhood, his life for the spider. He's not going to give it up for one person, no matter how much he loves them.
I get it, I'm just as fond over the idea as Chrollo holding you over anyone else, but it's time to face the sad truth. It's not to say he wouldn't feel sad picking you over the troupe. But he wouldn't feel bad about it, unless it happened to be the death of you. Because part of dating him and loving who he truly is, is accepting the things he does, has done, and will continue to do. It also means he you'll just have to accept the fact that the spider is his first priority. Again, it doesn't mean he doesn't love you. Of course he does, and he'll sure put up on he'll of a fight to make sure you know he loves you and to keep you safe. But, c'mon, let's be honest with ourselves here. Do it truly sound characteristic for Chrollo to give up the spider because he fell in love?
I feel like you could make an argument for Yandere Chrollo, because Yan! Chrollo is mostly about interpretation. So this one is a personal belief of mine and I'm open to debate this with Yan! chrollo. I can see Yan! Chrollo maybe Carrington more about the reader than the spider, but also not. I mean, yandere is an obsessive love. But deep down, it's still Chrollo. And I feel like something everyone is forgetting that regular! Chrollo is a yandere, too. Not your stereotypical kidnapping and forcing you to love him yandere, but still. It's very subtle, but the man is a mass Murderer and theif. But that's a separate debate. The point is, exaggerated Yan! Chrollo could possible hold darling over spider, but again, it's open for debatd.
But regular Chrollo? I'm sorry, love, but it's just not true. Chrollo would love you with all his heart, and a huge part of his heart belongs to you. But the whole of his heart belongs to the spider. I'm sorry. And the sooner you accept that, the better.

may I introduce you to my current obsession: this two losers right here
Tumblr media
I love them. Love their song(s). Husk is my favourite character of Hazbin Hotel, and Angel is immediately second. I love Angel's italian dubber, he manages to express so much emotion in his voice (even if you don't understand italian I suggest to watch a few little minutes of that dubbing, especially the ones before the song "Losers, baby" and the song "Poison", "Veleno" in italian). And I love the chemistry that there is between this two. They love eachother so fucking much. I fucking love huskerdust and I don't care if it's not canon because it is in fact it's enough to look at them to get it. If something bad happens to them I'm going to fucking catch you Vivienne.

usually lately I try to stay away from all this so as not to aggravate my moral injuries, but I want to speak out now because I know that it also hurts people like me
"Oh, and when Hamilton dominated, was there something different?" they say, and you know what? even these people know it's true. because it was different when it was the era of Hamilton, the era of Vettel, Schumacher, Senna and Prost, Lauda and Hunt, Stewart, Clark and Hill, Fangio, Nuvolari and Varzi.
it was different because even if they dominated, they were passionate people with a mad love for motorsport, with a desire to compete, someone more talented, someone more diligent, but they were all madmen in their own way, they all burned with a passion for cars and speed, and they shared this with people to the best of their characters
and who do we see now? a man who takes success for granted, and not as the long and hard work of tens of thousands of people around (and their legal team), without passion and love, a man who was forcibly brought into this sport because his father had ambitions that he himself was never able to realize, a man who is not even interested in competing or doing it fairly
so was it different when others dominated? Yes, it was, because now I'm watching a person do something because his parents forced him to
you might as well watch a reality show about the life of a medical student whose parents dreamed of seeing their child in medicine

It's been years since the show ended but I have a confession to make:
I shipped Park which Chase.
I thought that while yes, Chase is very bisexual coded (as is almost everyone in the show, fucking hate crimes m.d), the relationship he had with Park could have been more, even if I really liked their friendship.
If they had Cameron marrying Chase, that could have done something about Park with him, at least it wouldn't have been as toxic as that.

I'm basically obsessed at the moment with Red White Royal Blue (as you all can see) and I just have one infinitesimal complain about the movie, it's not even a complain it's more like a thousand things I liked about the movie and one that I didn't (I might actually write a post with the thousand I did, and it is the way (I almost write gay) Henry treats Alex in the beginning. Examples of what I'm talking about (take into account I'm only listing here the ones previous to them actually getting together):
In the hospital, when they're shoved into the closet: "Are you seriously telling me that one meeting...has occupied such a vast mental and emotional space in your head?" Fucking savage. I could probably understand that is one of those situations where he feels threatened and just lashes out, but still even more telling taking into account that night was when Henry fell for Alex. I don't know it just feels wrong.(I know after Henry apologizes and everything, it's just that sentence feels so out of place for me)
During the turkey conversation: "Can you think of anything more wasteful? Perhaps this conversation" I was crushed, even more knowing is their first phone conversation. And after, this one I get as a little more playful, when Henry says "That's what the big red button is for" I don't know, again it just feels out of character.
When they hook up for the first in Alex's room after the prime minister party thingy: "this doesn't change anything between us", "we just have to keep it very casual" and "I can't afford for you to fall in love with me" in perspective it's comprehensible where this is coming from and why he's saying that, but in the moment it just feel heart wrenching and kinda dismissive towards Alex and his feelings. (Also in this scene when Alex tells him, he is bi his reaction seems off, but maybe this have more to do with the fact that I'm bi and that reaction would hurt my feelings)
Sooo yeah, it's not a lot or anything, but something that along the movie kinda bothered me, just because it seems like Henry is kinda toying with him. I don't know maybe I'm reading too much into stuff, I just feel that he is one foot out of the relationship all the time (which he is and I understand why) but making it seems like less interested in Alex than he actually is; whereas in the book, even though he is terrified of loving Alex and just being with him and all that, he "never has acted any less than in loved with him since the first time he touched him" and that's not the vibe I get from Movie!Henry.
Having said all that I fucking love the movie, I think is fantastic, I've watched it at least 5 times already and their relationship and how Henry looks at Alex makes my knees weak and I literally cannot function without watching gifs of them constantly.

I see many people upset that Roier voted three times yesterday but lore wise doesn't it make sense? I mean Melissa, Abueloier and q!Roier are three different residents of the island. Sure they are played by the same person but on the island they are distinct people who have their own 'storyline' and their own opinion so they should therefore all be allowed to vote if you want the vote to be fair and have the opinion of all the inhabitants of the island.
Ofc for that to make sense Roier would also have to take into account while voting with each character what would make sense lore wise for them to vote and not just vote for what q!Roier wants 3 times, but personally I don't see why Melissa and Abueloier shouldn't have the right to vote seeing as they live on the island too.

Why do manga readers romanticize EVERYTHING?
I have had ZERO thoughts or suspicions that Uraraka and Toga are into eachother. I mean...have you guys ever even had healthy friendships with the same sex?? Because that’s what it iiiiis, cute and loving SUPPORTING of eachother!! Please watch movies (non-anime), read books (non-manga), GO OUTSIDE and you’ll start to see how things really work!
It’s just so sloppy looking through any of the bnha tags and it just makes me believe those people have no clue how human interactions work
EDIT: Just to be clear I DO NOT HATE THE ONES WHO SHIP FOR FUN, I have my own secret ships too lol. I’m against the ones who get hella agressive with their posts or ships and refuse to consider things otherwise, they scare me:)

Here are some thoughts about Crosshair in Episode 3.
This is my opinion, and you are not obligated to agree with me. I write this for myself because I need to get it off my chest.
I was thinking how much courage it must have taken Crosshair to go sit with the other clones. We know how prideful he is and how much he dislikes regular clones. I can't avoid thinking that he was feeling so alone and he just wanted to feel some kind of company, to be with his brothers, like the old times with The Batch, and considering how much time he was stranded on Kamino alone. 32 rotations is a lot of time. Imagine being alone with your thoughts, wondering if you are going to make it or not, or if someone's coming for you.
I know that he made his decision and is now living with the consequences of it. Cody acknowledged that at the end of the episode. I KNOW! But I just cannot be like, "I'm glad he is suffering; he deserves it because he is mean."
I hated how Rampart was so unbothered when he was speaking to Crosshair; he even laughed about how many days Crosshair was stuck on that platform and how he came back afterward.
I got flashbacks about Krell and Dogma: "That's because you were the biggest fool of them all." "I counted on blind loyalty like yours to make my plan succeed."
He mocked Dogma's loyalty; he mocked his suffering. That's why I just can't find it funny or be happy about how Crosshair was left behind on that platform. I'm not denying Crosshair's wrongs, but I think some have forgotten how much all the clones have suffered, and I think it doesn't make me a better person than Rampart or Krell if I find Crosshair's suffering funny.

Still not fully understanding why people continue to behave as though Chrissy doesn't like her life at all. Okay, we know her mom is emotionally abusive. It's implied her dad is no help. But she has a little brother, and she's captain of the cheer squad, and she seems to enjoy cheerleading. Her boyfriend (I have said this in so many ways so many times) does not actually seem abusive or evil until he snaps after she dies, so that can't be miserable either. She has things in her life that don't all make her unhappy, right? Like. Why are we acting like what Chrissy wants to do deep down inside is smoke weed and run away from home? She comes from a comfortably-well-off family (so it seems), she has friends, she has a life outside of the hardships at home and without the Vecna visions, the only things I can think of for her to be struggling with are her self-image issues and her abusive mother. And absolutely, abusive moms are a lot for a teenager to deal with (for anyone to deal with). Self-image issues are a real problem, especially for adolescents. Yes. But lots of people (if not ALL PEOPLE) struggle with the latter, and I don't get the impression from many of them that they hate their lives. I would understand why Chrissy suddenly gets overwhelmed or fed up with her problems and it all comes to a head when the Vecna visions start, for sure. But that she hates her life? All of it? That's not realistic. Or that her friendships and her social status are something she doesn't want? You're telling me she's a teenager in the 80's and she doesn't want people to like her and admire her? She doesn't want to be popular? Doesn't care about getting good grades, doesn't like her big house and white picket fence? Doesn't like the boyfriend with the perfect smile who can sweet-talk the entire student body? Doesn't like dressing nice and having people envy her? Miss me with that. She's not shallow. She's not rude or self-serving or the type to wield that popularity against others. We saw that she's a sweetheart (not mean and scary) and genuinely well-liked (look how many peers showed up to/were crying at her funeral). Grace Van Dien has said she considers the character to be "a cinnamon roll". So she's not a jerk, but it's unrealistic to assume (I mean, to me) that Chrissy feels trapped in a seemingly-perfect life. Most girls would kill to have what she has - money, friends, nice clothes, a boyfriend, the leader of the cheer squad.
I think what Chrissy does want deep down inside is some peace. To feel loved and safe. With no pressure. I think Chrissy likes the vast majority of her life. I think she's content with it because it's what she knows. Maybe everyone does have high standards for her and that is rough, but it's not something that would naturally make her want to introspectively implode and leave everything behind. It's just something she probably wishes were different. She might have an eating disorder, yes, and that's not good. (Never fully confirmed, but I'm not against the headcanon. Yes, I saw her throwing up. Yes, I heard Vecna-Mom quoting the "loosened the back [of the dress] for you" thing.) If she does have an ED, that's serious and painful and needs addressing. Also, her mother is definitely making a large part of her life hard, emotionally, and that should be addressed. And maybe she feels like she can't go to Jason with her deeper issues, and maybe it's hard to bottle up what's going on at home and pretend things are fine to her friends, yes, that's realistic. But to say she hates it all and wants to chuck it and run away with Eddie Munson and become a stoner metal-loving girlfriend with zero ties to Hawkins and zero love for anyone there except him? Again. Miss me with that.

hey tumblr user strhwaberries i would LOVE that thinkpiece on the ways the teezers kiss hwa
yeah okay, i'm leaving this here but only bc it's you
woo: he knows hwa doesn't like it so he goes for it fully bc he lives to annoy his members, hwa obviously cringes and woo is greatly satisfied, typical woohwa interaction
sannie: it's swift, almost as if he doesn't care, hwa was preparing to cringe again but is kinda relieved
yeo: he's a bit reluctant but still very soft, hwa is all "aww"
joong: he obviously doesn't want to do it ?? i'm putting question marks bc why wouldn't you want to kiss hwa, i bet his cheeks are soft and he smells nice, i would sell my organs so i could kiss him so i don't relate ahaha - his lips barely graze hwa who's like "what" but it's also typical of their interactions
mingi: now that's what i call a proper kiss, he even uses his hands, i 100% approve !!! but he also does it fast bc he knows hwa is uncomfy
yunho: his kiss is very natural, hwa doesn't seem to cringe particularly, if anything he seems happy
jongho: he doesn't want to do it and hwa gets flustered and gently gets his revenge, "you didn't want to kiss me so i'm gonna kiss you", another very typical interaction
ofc these are only my interpretations

So we watched Dead Poets Society last night.
CW: Suicide, abuse, romantic manipulation/coercion(assault) all below the cut.
Also spoilers, obviously.
Besides having a completely white (and mostly male)cast...except for one black dude in the kitchen we saw for literally a second...and the main characters basically being rich kids in prep school, the message of 'don't conform, be an individual that seizes your own life' is a good one, but feels off somehow. A constant theme of the movie is the attempt to be authentic, but within specific parameters, lest ye be punished.
The english teacher, Keating(Robin Williams), is highly unorthodox. The first thing he has the students do is leave the classroom and go stare at the pictures of students from previous years. He starts talking about carpe diem to inspire. He gets them all to rip out the cold and analytical introduction that reduces the quality of poetry to a graph. He shakes up preconceptions and pushes people to explore themselves. These are inherently important to self-actualization, and I genuinely enjoyed those aspects of the movie.
But that's where it stops for me.
"Carpe diem", "life is short", "live fully and authentically"; these are all good messages. Except, in the context of the movie, it's specifically about the next generation of the white owning class seizing their lives, living authenically, and self-actualizing. With one exception°, none of the teens are directly prevented from exploring and pursuing their passions.
This includes one of the 'leaders' of the group of 17 year olds falling in love at first sight with a high school girl he's never met before. When he gets back to his own group, he says it's a tragedy that she loves some oafish jock, that he loves her so he'll go tell her, no matter what. This leads to him first calling her, to which she expresses happiness he called(uh oh), and she invites him to a party that her boyfriend is throwing. At said party, he winds up feeling rejected because he wasn't getting the attention he wanted from her. Eventually we come to him on the couch, dejected and intoxicated, when he notices the blonde girl passed out next to him is the girl(read: object) of his desires. This leads to him leaning over and kissing her on the forehead while she's asleep, which is noticed by no one. Except one of the boyfriend's jock friends sees and directs everyone's attention to it. He's immediately attacked for what he did, but for some reason the girl leaps to poetry boy's defense and gets mad at her boyfriend for throwing punches, not at the guy who was assaulting her in her sleep. After apologizing and leaving, he continues his obsession and pursues her at a later date, confessing love and reading poetry he wrote to her in the middle of her classroom, and after telling him NO multiple times. Just before the big play of the movie, she shows up at his school to warn him her bf is on the warpath, and that she isn't interested in him at all, which he takes as her playing hard to get, because why would she warn him if she didn't care?... So he pleads and prods to let him take her to the play as a date, promising to finally leave her alone if afer the date she still doesn't like him. I hate this trope so much. It seriously reminds me of Revenge of the Nerds, and the whole nice guy 'just let me show you how much smarter/better/faster/stronger I am and you'll suddenly care about me' thing...eugh..
°The exception being one of the main cast wanted to be an actor, it was his whole being, but his father wouldn't have it, and forced him to drop anything that would distract from becoming a doctor, including any leadership roles he was already in. This eventually led to the character lying to his father about being the lead in a play and being found out, which his father orders him to drop out of the play, even though tomorrow is opening night.."I don't care if the world ends tomorrow..." He also lies to his poetry teacher, and others, about talking to his father. Halfway into the play, dear old dad shows up, thankfully waits til the end, then rips him out of school, informing him he'll be enrolled in military school. This leads to the character killing himself in his father's study and launches an inquiry into why this could possibly happen, because surely this boy's home life was immaculate. No question of abuse from the father. None.
After one student flops and tells the administration everything, the rest are forced to sign a document stating that everything that happened was because of the teacher, who is immediately fired. The final scene involves the headmaster showing up to teach the english class, and RW's character drops in to grab the last of his things. As he's on the way out the door, students start standing on their desks, saying 'O captain, my captain' in a show of solidarity, defying the headmaster literally shouting them down.
Aand credits.
So while it has an "overall good message", the 'target audience' severely lacks diversity, and the tropes used are disturbing, at best. The comraderie between every student, save for the snitch at the end, is almost unrealistic. Almost. There was no real hierarchy save for parent/authority vs student. Everyone supported each other unconditionally which feels surreal in our current day, until we remember that these kids are part of the white owning class.
So really, just another day.
