Hmm....how hard can large scale mosaic possibly be? I feel like my plans for the room I'm working on could use something really shiny and impactful and maybe I want to make a fold-down cutting table and maybe I want to do it out of mosaic, even though that will be ungodly heavy.

It's a fun idea. I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

I haven't done mosaic since a one-off high school art class but I feel like the component skills are ones I already have, sooooo....

I have been keeping to a blue and gold celestial theme for both my guest room and my art workspaces, because if and when I move those spaces are likely to be combined. Cutting table, even though it would be for a different room, falls in the same vein, so I'm thinking something with a nice dark night sky and maybe some branches or leaves...

#if nothing else #I am likely to bleed less on my project than I did on the one in high school. #i sliced my arm open and bled profusely and never quite got all of it out #the third bedroom in my house is basically a junk room rn because the layout is awful #and i have been rotating that room in my head for weeks trying to see how it fits together in a functional way #it's going to still be storage but also my digital workspace/home for my modern tools #aka four ink printers #the laminator the 3d printer the laser engraver the cutting mats the paper storage #and also random crap like luggage and wrapping paper. #i think im settling on a library/bindery vibe #so loooots of built ins. #on a budget level i cannot afford to start this room for a while yet #and the same is also true on a time management scale #but for each project like this I tend to prefer to have everything fully realized in my head before i start #so im doing that now #mentally putting together lumber cut lists and figuring out if im going to have to buy a jigsaw

I've kinda had Reverse Robins on the brain recently so here's my take on it

First of course is Damian: Talia has a crisis of consciousness and drops a baby Damian off at Wayne Manor. He grows up greatly admiring Batman and the work he does for this city, leading to he sneaking out to follow his father a lot. Bruce curses himself for giving Damian all those lessons for the sake of "self defense" when he finally has to break down and let the boy join him (he kept overcoming all the security features).

Cass is next because I said so: Remember how I said Talia had a crisis of consciousness? Yeah, that didn't last long. She was temporarily overcome by this cute little bundle of joy that looked so much like her beloved but quickly realized she wanted her heir back. This resulted in a lot of kidnapping attempts. Like a lot. One of which included luring Damian away with one of their assassins undercover as a friend. And guess who was elected for that position being relatively close in age? That's right, Cass. Congratulations, you get a cookie you smart cookie.

Unfortunately there's a problem with this plan. You see, the Waynes are just too dang nice! Cass finds herself not only falling in love with the outside world but also with the Waynes so she eventually confesses everything. As it turns out, the Waynes aren't dumb. You don't navigate high society as the richest kid on the block without learning how to tell when people have hidden intentions. At the same time Damian sensed that Cass was lonely and maybe even a little desperate so he went along with it and managed to convince Bruce to go along with it too. Overcome with this acceptance Cass vows to be Damian's bodyguard from further kidnapping attempts as well as helping to bring peace to the city (despite the Waynes best attempts, it's going to take Cass a little longer to mellow out and not be as protective of them).

Next we have Duke: His story is pretty much how it goes in canon sans the We Are Robin stuff (he's too young). When Duke's meta powers first start manifesting, Damian convinces Bruce to let him introduce Duke to his super friends so they can help mentor him. Much to Bruce's horror they do a little more than mentor him because next thing he knows, Duke is proclaiming he wants to be a hero too.

What if Hope couldn’t convince her that not all was lost, and that she wasn’t responsible for the strings around her hands. That she wasn’t a monster.

What if Pandora and Hope found a way to trap everything in the box again. What if Pandora couldn’t do it. What if she didn’t want anyone else to feel the guilt she did. What if she thought that trapping the horrors in the box would just doom everyone into the same cycle. What if she felt she had to break it by bearing the suffering of everyone else. What if Hope tried to convince her that it could be better. What if she wouldn’t save herself. What if Hope had to kill Pandora for a chance to save everyone, including her. What if they both were sealed in the box. What if no one ever knew what happened to them. What if their last words to the world and to each other were “I love you.”

What if the world ending was never Pandora’s fault, but in her guilt and grief she blamed herself for it, and the Hope that voluntarily stayed by her side had to take her life to save it.
