Eh, I'm of two minds wrt Possessed!Byleth. On the one hand, this proves that Intsys does not really care about consistency in their main games and just want to sell units. On the other hand, Nopes is an Alternate universe of FE16 so *shrugs*. That said, I'm dreading the wank that'll probably come from Edelstans and (maybe) Khalidstans, cause you know they're going to start shit on how this is why Sothis, and Byleth & Sothis BaD respectively.

Why would Khalidstans react negatively to this alt?

Granted, I haven't interacted with them at all (I think?) so I don't really know how the discourse goes in those circles.

(I mean, are Khalidstans even taking Nopes as canon? Given what it says about Almyra, I'd be pretty pissed if I was an Almyra fan!)

FeH cannot say Billy became possessed to avenge Jerry, else we will have to wonder why and how Jerry kicked the bucket which will raise two sets of interrogations :

How the fuck Tru Piss exists as Flamey works with the people who killed Jerry and Billy never brings it up - and just like Dimitri snapped when Flamey went "idgaf about Duscur" or the lolcalised "IDK", a Billy who rushed to the forest and is willing, in Nopes, to offer their body to a foreign entity for vengeance doesn't seem that open to listen and but the "I had to work with Uncle bcs Rhea BaD but I swear for realsies I never knew what was going to happen and I forgot to tell u Monica was Kronya, an assassin who wanted to hide the experiments made to create my "reserve troops" well yes i knew some students were going to die but did you know Rhea can turn in a dragon thus isn't human!!!"

Why Jerry died in Nopes - and no route can be canon, so...

I joked about it in the first post following the reveal, but even Nopes itself retconned Billy as someone who didn't want vengeance for Jerry (as opposed to FE16) by having them fight against Sothis's control and letting Barney win - in a rush to make Lizards BaD, Nopes retconned (not the only retcon though) FE16 again lol

Personally I'd rather see the entire Hollywood movie industry fall apart than the strike fail. Movies won't stop being made, they will just stop being sponsored by worker abuse, and if that means no more millions of dollars worth epics then so be it idc

EDIT: OK this is gaining way too much attention while being vague and hyperbolic and ranty so let's make one thing clear - I am NOT lauding projects which don't adhere to union requirements, this is about the fact that big studios pretend like they are the only ones who can give you entertainment and if they can't make projects, you'll be sad and bored forever, and also that the only worthwhile pieces of media are projects worth an ungodly amount of money. This is obviously a lie, since there have been studios that agreed to work under new union requirements, and that's what I mean by "movies won't stop being made" - there will always always always be projects, big and small, that won't ignore what unions have to say. And in a dreamlike hypothetical future where big Hollywood industry falls apart, other smaller and more manageable studios will rise to take their place, and they'll have a cautionary tale on what will happen to them if they try to push it again.

#i literally see no downside to this situation. workplaces will have to be rearranged #but that is better than continuing on like this. anything is better than empowering predatory businessmen because we want movies.#eernatalk
