I feel a deep sense of anger and grief for Palestine. I’m angry at God, at the world powers donating to those who are killing civilians, angry at people looking away and encouraging you to worry about yourself when people can’t even walk down their streets without being attacked. I’m angry that my friend donated, only for it to be stolen and taken by the soldiers abusing Palestine. I’m angry that I can’t do much of anything but tell you to at least CARE about the people being bombed and slaughtered. Please, if you can’t do anything please just CARE about these people and listen to their stories. Hold them in your hearts at the very least. Don’t pretend they don’t exist or just brush it off as “its been going on for centuries, there’s no point in stopping it.” I want to do more, I want to make people care and love those who need it, rather than continue spreading anger and hate.
Tumblr media
These are real people I’ve drawn. Keep the people of Palestine in your heart at the very least please.

I'm once again thinking about the missed opportunities to have Klaus and Kol bond more. Part of Klaus' whole motivation as a vampire is to get his werewolf part back and to finally be stronger than Mikael (sort of, I'm simplifying) both of which can be obtained by breaking his curse. But Kol? Kol is the only other original that can relate to having a fundamental part of themself ripped away from them. Klaus might not have known he was a werewolf until he killed, but he likely still had a connection he couldn't explain, as evident by him going to watch the wolves transform. And something he'd never been able to explain was now gone. He might only be able to realise the connection afterwards through its absence.
Kol though. Kol had grown up with magic, a connection to nature and the world around him in a way the rest of his siblings supposedly didn't have. And then he gets turned. And not only has his baby brother died, his father has just murdered him and the rest of his siblings after forcing them to drink human blood, which he'll later learn. Now, not only does he have to deal with the grief of Henrik's death and also his own but also the loss of his magic. A loss that's likely only worsened by Kol being a self-proclaimed child prodigy.
Kol is pretty much the only one who could understand what Klaus is going through with the binding of his wolf. We know Kol searched for ways to get his magic back/carry on practicing magic in the same way that Klaus was looking for ways to break his curse. While Klaus likely could still feel his wolf there despite being bound, Kol has no access to his magic anymore. I just think they should've been able to bond or connect over their shared loss of an intrinsic aspect of their selves at the hands of their parents
#TVD#The Mikaelsons#Kol Mikaelson#Klaus Mikaelson#briefly back on my the originals shouldve gotten to be a family goddammit and as someone from a big family im personally offended bs#i did right a lil snippet about them bonding over this that i havent posted yet for the joml verse but still think its an unexplored concep#need more witch!kol acknowledgement honestly. just need more content of my boy#anyway. klaus having a fascination with the moon and kol telling him about celestial events and how it affects his magic when theyre boys#klaus losing that connection to the moon feeling lost & extra tempermental feeling his wolf claw at its binds and vowing to break his curse#kol determined to get his magic back at any cost relating to that devasting loss and promising to help him find a loophole for his curse#kol who becomes extra reckless and determined when he learns that theres a way to break klaus' curse so maybe he can get his magic back too#that knowledge and recklessness combined with his loss of magic driving him to become the volatile vampire that we see#that leads to him being daggered repeatedly but that first time breaks something in that bond between him & klaus that never fully recovers#it makes him bitter and resentful only fueling his reckless behaviour particularly when there seems to be no leads on reclaiming his magic#that he becomes distant from his siblings in the process especially with finn still daggered but that distance only cements the idea#to his siblings that hes a danger and cant be trusted that he needs to be daggered if theyre to stay safe from mikael#the loss of his magic leading to his spiral as a vampire and him being ostracised by his family > actual tvdu kol canon#klaus being trapped in a room staring at the corpse of his little brother knowing he never repaired that relationship with him#and now he never can so he refuses to look away as penance and a reminder of his failings to his little brother#*edit: one of the reblogs on this post is the author of big bad wolf and honestly she does an amazing job at portraying the mikaelsons#as actual siblings if you havent read it its one of my favourites for characterisations but we need more 😭 i want it to be the norm

So I'm confused about something. There was a cover story about Ms Goldenweek and other Baroque works agents breaking Crocodile out of prison but he just. Told them no? And stayed there with Mr 1 and Mr 2? I don't get why he wanted to go to Impel Down just to break out when he had the chance
I can't tell you 100% why Crocodile chose to stay in prison and go to Impel Down, but my best guess really is that he was just...
Taking the L with grace
More specifically. Crocodile had lost everything. I think deep inside he might've been literally too depressed to want to go free again.
Tumblr media
Like he does literally say that. He gave up.
He had been building his reputation as "the Hero of Alabasta" for at least 10 years at this point. He had built not just a criminal organization that he had been running for four years, but also he had been running legal business stuff (like his casino) for probably longer than that. A decade's worth of work and effort to take over a country, and most importantly, get away with it. The reason he had orchestrated that whole rebellion was so that the rebels and the royal family could "take each other out", leaving the country wide open for a World Government Official such as himself to take up. The reason Baroque Works was doing this all in secret was so that the WG never found out, otherwise they wouldn't have let him have Alabasta.
But indeed, his plans were foiled by a kid in flipflops in less than 24 hours, just at the final moment before Crocodile would win. He lost everything. And the World Government found out about what he had been planning.
So even if he escaped from that prison with his former agents, what was he going to do?
He wouldn't be able to take over Alabasta anymore because he did not have manpower (as he had lost all his goons), and having lost his financial empire he wouldn't be able to build a new army any time soon. And even if he did, now that they knew what he had done the people of Alabasta would not accept him as their new king, even if he personally assasinated Cobra and the entire family. Not to mention, the WG finding out about his plans meant that they had every fucking reason to try and stop Crocodile if he did as much as set foot on that island again. By which I mean, they could launch a Buster Call on his ass. Send all the fucking Admirals after him. And so, even if Crocodile still believed Pluton was somewhere in Alabasta and that he just had to comb through the entire desert to find it... Between the Alabastan people and the WG in the way, finding Pluton would not be easy. Especially when Robin wouldn't even be there to just point him directly to it. It could take years, if not decades, while fighting off the WG by himself. And that's while assuming Pluton was somewhere in Alabasta. Like WE the readers now know Pluton is in Wano, but since Robin didn't tell him that. All Robin said was that the Poneglyph "didn't mention the weapon", and Cobra's reaction to the name merely proved the weapon's existence in Crocodile's mind. But surely, because Crocodile is a smart young man, he'd understand there was a risk that Pluton could exist, but just not be in Alabasta, right? Like that would be a possibility too, right?
I think this is why Crocodile has given up on Alabasta. He had one opportunity at seizing the country, and he failed. And without Robin, he could spend the rest of his life combing through a haystack for a needle when there's no needle, and he'd have no idea. I think is why he explicitly says in Impel Down he no longer has "interest in that country". He won't be able to pull off another stunt like this, ever.
And that leads us back to "why not escape earlier and avoid going to Impel Down to begin with". Thanks to his status as a Shichibukai, Crocodile hasn't been on the run from the WG for like two decades. And the past 10 or so years he has seemingly lived a life of luxury in his funny little casino. But now, having lost everything, he'd be back on the run. And because he's a world famous former "hero of the people", there would be nowhere he'd be able to go where people would not recognize him and send the marines after him. So he'd be on the run, for the rest of his life or until he'd get capture again. And mind you, the guy does not trust anyone, so he'd be on the run alone. Without any purpose or goal.
And you might be thinking, "Daz and the rest of BW was still there!", yeah, arguably true. But at this point Crocodile had no reason to trust any of them. Like personally, I think the reason Crocodile ended up taking a liking to Daz was BECAUSE he chose to follow him to Impel Down when he really did not have to. Like Daz showed an unusual level of loyalty to Crocodile, and I think Crocodile recognized that. That's why Daz is still with Croc, post-timeskip. But Miss Goldenweek and co? Crocodile had no reason to believe they wouldn't betray him if given a chance and a reason. And if the WG would come chasing his ass, they'd have plenty of reason to try and betray Croc (handing Crocodile over to spare their own lives). Not to mention, when they come release their former boss from jail, what did Miss Goldenweek say?
"Let's do Baroque Works again"
As I've already explained in detail, I think we might know why Crocodile wasn't interested in being Baroque Works' "boss" again.
So. Yeah. If in Crocodile's mind he'd be on the run from the Government for the first time in two decades all alone, in a situation where rebuilding what he had before would be bloody hard if not downright impossible, and he wouldn't be able to obtain what he had spent the last decade working for regardless...
Taking the L and just going to prison might've been the easier option
#Moon posting#Asks#OP Meta#Sir Crocodile#Long post#Mind you Crocodile only *left* jail because he saw AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY for petty revenge#Like had it not been for that war bringing Whitebeard out he probably would not have bothered to try and fight WB again#Otherwise he could've just escaped prison with Goldenweek and co and travelled to the New World to fight the old man right away#((Also theoretically Crocodile might've been slightly suicidal with the ''taking WB's head'' thing))#Also worth noting that Crocodile choosing to stay in prison could've had two other purposes re:the former agents#It could've been a test of loyalty (to see if anyone would stay with him or would they all abandon him)#Which could be important to Mr Trust Issues (and to be fair he did find at least one loyal subordinate in Daz)#((Like if they had all told Croc they'd stay with him...... Who knows. Maybe he might've chosen to escape after all?))#Other option: Crocodile escaping with them would mean the agents would be in much more danger than they'd be without him#Like the WG wouldn't send tons of marines after the individual agents if they all scattered to the winds#But if they all stuck together they'd become a bigger target. And even more so if Crocodile was there to lead them#And like. IDK if Crocodile was willing to leave out Goldenweek from the assassination order and spare her... Maybe this was the same#Maybe he wanted to spare Goldenweek (and the rest?) from being put into danger by going with them?#I dunno man this reptile has far too many layers to him I can't tell what's going on in his head

I know it's a classic trope of danny phantom x dc crossovers that the Justice League or the Batfam finds out about Amity Park and immediately starts an investigation, but honestly, that doesn't really make sense in world.
Like, there are ghosts in Illinois. Whoopdeedoo. There are aliens in Metropolis, assassins in Star City, metas in Central, and every type of crazy imaginable and a few that no one would ever think of in Gotham. The DC world is a very weird place.
More than that, I think it kind of misunderstands what the Justice League originally was. A lot of the time fanon and canon both treat it like some kind of centralized superhero organization with the main group as the bosses. This isn't really how it started in the comics though, from what I understand. At first, the Justice League was a bunch of independent supers with their own independent territories who occasionally talked to each other. They would get together if say, there were aliens in Star City and Green Arrow needed advice on how to take care of them, or if there was a worldwide threat they needed to work together to address, but for the most part each hero had their own jurisdiction and they were not fond of people intruding in that territory. Local problems were dealt with by local heros, and if there wasn't a local hero? Just wait a couple of weeks, the police can handle it until someone pops up.
My point is that the League is really unlikely to try to swoop in and completely figure out Amity Park's situation, or even to really care about it once they realize that they already have both Phantom and Red Huntress. At most they might invite them to a few get togethers for networking.
I bet Batman wouldn't even care that much. I know he's the king of paranoia and contingencies, but he focuses almost all of that on people he knows are threats. He doesn't have time to care about a couple small town heros with small town problems, the Joker just got out of Arkham and he's going to kill hundreds of they don't catch him fast. (This isn't to say I think B would look down on small timers, but he would probably see them as little leagues, because he has no reason to suspect that it's that important. People with the power of the Justice League aren't just crawling out of the wood work, and it makes far more sense for him to assume that the problems in Amity Park aren't particularly powerful. Like how non Gothamites never believe that normal human rogues could actually be that dangerous.)
Crazy stuff is everywhere in the DC world, and unless you make it their problem, most supers assume that it's taken care of.
That said, it would totally be awesome if the Justice League was throwing a get together for lesser known less powerful heroes and just didn't realize what they had invited until it smacks them in the face.

parting deferred
For perhaps the last time, Joui talks to Liz. pre-desconjuraçao, also posted to my ao3.
////////
Shamefully, his gaze passes over her at first. She’s only another old woman sitting in the back of the library, white head bowed over a study table. But the way she frowns at the mess of papers before her is all Liz.
Joui tries his best to assess her condition as he navigates the shelves. She’s alive. And unhurt, and perhaps even sober. He can breathe more easily now that he sees her.
Someone unexpectedly exits a row in front of him—he startles, reaches for the weight at his hip, apologizes, heart racing—arrives.
Another moment of unfamiliarity. Joui could be looking at someone else’s grandmother reading the paper.
He shakes off the moment, and the uncertainty that suddenly rises in his chest.
“Liz-senpai?”
It takes a moment for his voice to register—she’s absorbed in whatever the papers are telling her. He can see the recognition in her face, the way the hand that holds the pen stops its motion.
She covers her notes as she turns to him. He tries to suppress the sting.
“Joui? What do you want?”
“You didn’t respond to the group chat,” he says, his tone more accusing than he means it to be.
“I muted it. It was distracting me.”
“We were worried. Liz, I went to your apartment and the landlord said it had been sold. And you weren’t answering calls or texts and—“
“How did you find me?” she asks.
Joui is thrown off. “Ce-Kaiser tracked your phone,” he says honestly.
Liz purses her lips. “I see.”
“We were worried,” Joui explains. (I was worried) “You disappeared—what if something had happened to you?”
“Well. As you can see, I’m fine. As fine as I can be. You can tell that to the others.”
Joui looks at the pile of papers—newspapers, dated recently. “Liz-senpai, what are you working on? Can I help?”
She slips her notebook into her bag, covering the table with the other hand. “Joui—I appreciate your concern, but I’m fine. I can take care of myself.”
And she can—Joui knows Liz, and she’s strong—but how strong is she now? She’s smart—smart enough to get to the bottom of this, whatever it is, and put herself right back in danger.
He misses hearing her theorize, brow furrowed and eyes alight. He misses her laugh and her smile. He misses Liz herself—she’s right in front of him again, but she feels a thousand miles away.
“Don’t disappear again,” he pleads. “We need you.” (I need you, he wants to say, but he’s terrified that it won’t be enough to keep her with him.) “The Order needs you.”
That makes Liz laugh—a bitter echo of his memories. “The Order doesn’t know what it’s doing.” She straightens the papers on the table. “Symptoms,” she says. “They’re treating symptoms, and the heart is rotten. We throw ourselves into a brick wall over and over until every one of us is dead and broken.”
Joui doesn’t know what to say. It’s a mirror of the thoughts that haunt him at night, laid over the memories that never fade. He doesn’t have words of hope—he has to be the strong one now, but he doesn’t know what to do.
Liz turns over the newspapers, arranging and rearranging them feverishly. Joui watches and he doesn’t know what to say and he doesn’t know what to do.
He puts a hand on her shoulder, finally, clawing past the uncertainty that freezes him in place.
“Liz-senpai. Look at me, please.”
She meets his gaze, and whatever he’d tentatively planned to say next escapes his mind. Her eyes are older than the wrinkles on her face. The eyes of the monster of death flash into his mind—a thought he despises as soon as he has it.
“Liz-senpai?” he repeats.
“Get out, Joui,” she says, and she just looks tired now.
He isn’t hurt that she’s still putting herself in danger—he understands the itch to do something, anything. He’s hurt that she doesn’t want him beside her. Joui isn’t sure of many things these days, but he knows bone deep that they need to protect each other. If he loses Liz—and Arthur and Kaiser—every part of him that matters will have died.
“If you think I’d leave you, you don’t know me,” he snaps.
Something flashes over Liz’s face. “I suppose I can’t make you do anything—it’s not like I’m your mother.”
Joui wishes she had hit him instead. He tries to say something else and can’t manage it.
He thinks she wants to say something else too. She pauses as she walks away, looks back—but she leaves anyway.

guess who finished talia’s ref/propaganda post!
Tumblr media
talia is one of my oldest splat ocs (both in creation age [july 2016] and character age at 24) and honestly not much has changed about his design since i made her! the main difference is literally just some fun new piercings and a lgbt pass
@splatoonpolls :]
talia is 5’10” and the middle child in his family! he has one older sister (taller still, a firefighter named moselle) and one younger sister (ren, new ranked battler) and they all come from calamari county where they were primarily raised by their mother :]
he moved to inkopolis at 15 to get into turf + to try to meet the squid sisters since they’re from the same area! there, he met peri, and they became roommates for about a year before they started dating
talia is highly money motivated mostly because she wants to make sure ren and her mother especially can live an easy life. she also wants to do something good with her life like moselle, who she looks up to as a hero.
sooo after a couple of years turfing with peri (an e-liter main) and working part time at the crust bucket, grizzco opened and the two decided to check it out!
turns out they’re very good at it + get paid very well as a result so that quickly becomes their priority and are very consistently ranked at profreshional
talia believes he’s doing something good to help out both mr. grizz and inkadia so he’s happy
after a while, grizzco’s splatlands branch opened and the two were forcibly relocated invited to move to the splatlands to help out with egg retrieval and training, and subsequently hit eggsecutive vp with victoria and fiorello in their now complete quad
talia knows jacinthe (my agent 3) but at the moment he does not know anything about the true nature of grizzco.
talia is a very trusting person and will typically take whats in front of him at face value. as mentioned before, she’s very tall and is pretty loud/high energy, so can be unintentionally overbearing when meeting new people. he also has the worst name memory ever so will typically nickname everyone he meets to something he can easily remember (peri is a nickname! jury’s out if he remembers her actual name) such as eggs for victoria and safety for fiorello. however, talia is very afraid of being perceived as a rude person, so tries very hard to be seen as the opposite, typically with gifts. can be unexpectedly emotional—cried over clam mochi being different when homesick, whenever big man loses, etc
her favorite idol in the splatlands is big man because she feels like she relates the best to him (and often feels sorry for him). his favorite splatbands are diss pair and front roe, but feels no connection to squid squad.
splatfest wise, he will consider his favorite idol’s alignment first before his own preferences. ex. he’s terrified of ghosts but likely will be on big man’s team for splatoween
in my imagination, his tentacles are box braids in human form :]
splashtag maker 👍🏽

Periodic reminder that the Jedi don’t kidnap kids, they rescue them, and that’s not propaganda.
Force-sensitive kids who are born to loving families and/or in societies with a strong social net just...grow up to be talented folks. The Nightsisters. Plenty of Mandalorians. So many people.
Kids about to be kidnapped and sold into slavery because they’re Special? Orphans about to burn down their village? Those tykes get a new Temple Home.

Hey, if you're going to make a post archiving evidence of real-world harm someone is committing; like being a TERF, or racist, or a homophobe, or anything else like that, do not mention any fandom bullshit.
I doesn't matter what fictional shit this person enjoys and it has no place being mentioned in a post warning people that someone is genuinely dangerous. When you bring up shipping and other fandom crap it majorly trivializes your point.
I don't care what this person does to literal objects; the only thing that matters is how they treat real, living people! When you're warning people that someone is dangerous, leave fucking fairy tales out of it. They. Do. Not. Matter!

Who are dipper's parents in this au?
They're parents! And arguably, not the best ones ever - they've been mostly out of the picture since the twin's magic showed up, which is when they were sent to Stan.
They don't have any names in canon, so I've never come up with any for them either!
#I still would like to get to a 'Dipper sees his parents for like the fourth time in 9 years' fic#But that will happen after Confessing It ends#answers#Magical puberty is like ten times more arson-y than regular puberty#But it's still a shitty excuse for ditching your kids with your one reliable (?) magical relative#There's probably some meat on the bones on Stan's experience of this too#Going from 'oh hey. Children in my home. Guess I better show 'em the ropes'#To 'Hey summer's almost over when are you picking em up' while also going 'aw man I'll miss these kids'#To 'what do you *mean* you aren't picking them up'#To flashbacks to Stan and Ford's OWN shitty childhood#To probably standing in the doorway checking in on these kids as they slept#Taking in the enormity of the task#Holy crap these are two whole human children in his 'care' such as it is what the hell does he do with that#A terror in Stan's heart as he realized *he* was gonna be the main influence in their lives until someone else took over#(Spoiler: Nobody else took over)#And staying up all night trying to figure out how to spin an extended stay in Oregon as a 'fun idea right???'#Telling himself 'C'mon Stan the parents just panicked it's not like either of the twins have really dangerous magic'#'You get 'em settled into their stuff and it'll all be sorted out in a few months'#Bless you Stan you were not at ALL prepared for this#But you did way way *way* better than anyone - including Ford - expected#Demon marriage not withstanding and even that worked out incredibly well due to your influence#Dipper definitely thinks of him as 'Dad' somewhere deep inside his mind#Bill instantly clued into the paternal relationship but hasn't seen a reason to bring it up#It's all human drama whatever#No skin off his nose
