Hello, I am from Gaza, due to the shortage of medicine in Gaza, my mother who is a type 1 diabetic and was supposed to undergo urgent eye surgery, has not been able to get insulin or any medical care for the past three months. . Some members of my family fled to the southernmost part of Gaza (Rafah) in tents. But my parents and sisters have nowhere else to stay. They are forced to stay in the Nuseirat refugee camp, which has been bombed since the beginning of Christmas. "I am on my knees asking for your donations. Please help me. where you can.
I am so sorry about your situation. I pray that you and your family, along with thousands of others, are able to find peace soon. I promise that I am trying my best to do all that I can, and I will keep you and your family in my prayers every night.
THIS IS A REMINDER FOR EVERYONE. THE GENOCIDE ON GAZA HAS NOT STOPPED. JUST BECAUSE YOU HEAR LESS OF IT, DOESNT MEAN THAT IT HAS DISAPPEARED. PLEASE, PLEASE, IF YOU ARE ABLE TO, DONATE.
DONATE MONEY AND SIM CARDS. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES OR MPS. WRITE LETTERS TO YOUR GOVERNMENT. BOYCOTT. PROTEST. BE THE VOICE FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE. REGULARLY REPOST AND SHARE INFORMATION. STAY EDUCATED.
YOU DO MAKE A CHANGE. YOUR VOICE DOES MATTER. PLEASE, DO NOT STOP. PLEASE, DO NOT WAVER. WE WILL WIN. FREE PALESTINE.

I feel a deep sense of anger and grief for Palestine. I’m angry at God, at the world powers donating to those who are killing civilians, angry at people looking away and encouraging you to worry about yourself when people can’t even walk down their streets without being attacked. I’m angry that my friend donated, only for it to be stolen and taken by the soldiers abusing Palestine. I’m angry that I can’t do much of anything but tell you to at least CARE about the people being bombed and slaughtered. Please, if you can’t do anything please just CARE about these people and listen to their stories. Hold them in your hearts at the very least. Don’t pretend they don’t exist or just brush it off as “its been going on for centuries, there’s no point in stopping it.” I want to do more, I want to make people care and love those who need it, rather than continue spreading anger and hate.
Tumblr media
These are real people I’ve drawn. Keep the people of Palestine in your heart at the very least please.

as a jew, seeing what all of these israeli leaders have said is sickening. as a jew, anti-palestinian rhetoric is sickening. as a jew, zionism is sickening.
how dare my people -- a people who've been massacred, ethnically cleansed, dehumanized, forcibly removed, and discriminated on religious grounds for their entire existence -- do the same to another people? how dare we turn our backs on them, when they suffer like we have?
i understand that so much of us have been fed zionist propaganda our entire lives; the same happened to me. i understand the desire for a homeland where we don't have to fear antisemitism at every turn; i want that too. but it doesn't take much thought to understand that a homeland for us, which actively oppresses and kills another people, is antithetical to what we want.
if you, as a member of an oppressed group, believe that your freedom and safety can only exist when you oppress another group, you are acting no better than the people who oppressed you. such a belief is horrible, and cynical, and wrong.
as a jew, i want jewish people to be happy and safe and connected to our heritage; as a jew, i also want other peoples to be happy and safe and connected to their heritage.
don't call the palestinians "amalek". you are turning us into amalek.
doesn't the torah tell us to have empathy for those beaten down by the world? doesn't the torah tell us to make the world a better place? doesn't the torah tell us to free people of their shackles and help them escape oppression?
i have so many israeli aunts and uncles and cousins; i fear for their safety. of course, my parents do as well. i'm worried that this fear, in addition to anything they were led to believe earlier in life, is placing my parents even deeper in the zionist camp. but it doesn't have to be this way! my relatives' safety does not rely on the continued oppression of gaza!
it is easy to be uninformed, to be swayed by propaganda, to blindly hope that israel was founded in good faith -- but we can't lie to ourselves. a world steeped in senseless hatred (which we are now promoting!) could never be a home for us. none of us are free, liberated, equal, until all of us are.
as a jew, to other jews, i implore that we stand with our palestinian siblings. i want us all to be happy and safe. i want us all to live in harmony -- in the holy land and around the world. that is what we all deserve. <3

it actually makes me sick to see people share the BDS boycott list but continue to support companies on the list lmao
one of my mutuals just made 3 tweets in a row about getting mcdonalds when a month ago they were making a thread of helpful information, posting the bds list, and tweeting the watermelon emoji
like do you actually give a fuck about whats happening or are you only virtue signaling for retweets? this shit is so fucking mind numbing like im so pissed off and i know im directing my anger at something small retrospectively but how are you going to be a hypocrite in this situation how are you going to pretend to care how are you going to ignore the simple things we’ve been asked to do i want to just scream
when the bare minimum is not supporting corrupt brands, and self proclaimed leftists can’t even do that, how is anything going to change. am i going to be angry for the rest of my life

Just a reminder: calling Jews "pigs" is "an allusion to the fundamentalist antisemitic slur that Jews are descendants of apes or pigs."
Prefacing it with "zionist," as in, "Fuck you, zionist pig," does not give you plausible deniability.
Real-life examples of its usage, from the Telegram account for Hamas & its associated groups:
October 6, 2023, 1¼ hours before Hamas officially began its Al-Aqsa Flood massacre: (warning, that link shares extremely graphic details)

none of my business whether yall self ship with hazbin hotel characters or whatever, but since im seeing an influx of it (likely because of the new show) i'd like to remind yall to please boycott it (and pirate it if you must). it is being hosted on amazon, one of the BDS's pressure targets in the strike for palestine's cause– while it is acknowledged that you realistically cannot fully boycott targets like amazon (because of their monopoly over shipping), it will still be helpful to drop things sponsored by it that you ultimately do not need.
the self ship community has presented itself as an open and diverse community for years– prove it by being willing to stop giving profit to media that has a stake in hurting others.
support palestinian self shippers.

As people who took a break from regular selfship posting for March 2nd start to come back online and pick up where they left off, I just want to leave a little reminder. Please do not ever stop caring about people in Gaza. Do things in real life, not just online. Talk to people. Help how you can. Show support. Learn and retain. Don't let Palestine or the genocide leave the public consciousness. Not now. Not ever.

“Zionist” really does just mean either “Jew I don’t like” or “the Jews but I don’t want to make the dog whistle too loud” here huh?
Anyway these last few months have been a good reminder that Tumblr is not a reliable news source, and that there are always bad actors. And just as many people willing to be chill about bad actors so long as it looks like they’re doing anything.
Not sure which is worse really. The bad actors or the genuinely well-meaning people.

A pattern I’ve noticed lately on a lot of posts about Palestine is that most of the bigots and rude people in the comments section are NSFW/kink blogs with default icons
Saw someone making borderline misogynistic comments on a post about how women are getting nasty infections from a lack of feminine hygiene products, and when people clarified the purpose of the post they said a lot of nasty swear words and insults at those people, telling them to go f-ck themselves and that they and their parents are pieces of trash. (Not going to quote them exactly since they said some really disgusting things, though if you know what post I’m referring to it’s easy to find) They had a default icon, I viewed their profile and Tumblr said it was an 18+ account. I viewed it, and lo and behold, there was NSFW content.
Just about every comment I’ve seen where people say nasty sh-t like this is by a p-rn blog. And I see these kinds of people on almost EVERY SINGLE POST about Palestine.
If someone in the comments of a pro Palestine post has a default icon and posts NSFW content, just block and ignore them. If this pattern isn’t just a coincidence, it’s likely that they’re just trolls and they’re not worth your time. I almost wonder if these accounts are all run by a group of people trying to mass troll users, they all have the same way of typing and always post NSFW. Maybe it’s a coincidence, or they are connected, to some extent.

anyone who actually believes that MURDERING innocent civilians in Palestine and destroying innocent people's homes is a good form of retaliation is a fucking nasty, blood hungry, horrible person. i don't care. i wish nothing but bad things for you.
like i cannot put into words how much i despise Israel supporters.... Oct 7 2023 was something that was bound to happen!!!! Palestinians deserve to live in PEACE! not one person in this entire world deserves what is happening to these people. Israelis saying they "live in fear" are fucking morons, I'm sorry! YOU'RE living in fear????!!!!! come on!!!! can we compare how many lives have been lost in both Palestine and Israel??? it is not equal! Israel wants to kill off every Palestinian, even the innocents.
it's just so frustrating, my heart hurts for them. the world is watching Israel destroy a whole land. AND NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!! fuck the US government and fuck joe biden and fuck ANYONE who doesn't want a ceasefire. FREE PALESTINE!

You bought pleasing products as well, and we have known for years that the people around Harry aren't good people. You're a hypocrite
I have bought pleasing products in the past, you’re correct and we have known for years that the people harry surrounds himself with are horrible at best, however harry has still ALWAYS spoken about his stance on global issues and his silence now is deafening. You can call me a hypocrite all you want but the point I was making is, how can anyone now, with the knowledge that jeff and irving signed that stupid letter and jeff’s sister has a whole highlight about the war in israel, AND with harry’s cricket mentality while still pedaling a new pleasing collection at us, in good conscious, decide that’s where you’re going to spend your money ??? I don’t know about you but I don’t have money like that to throw around let alone to businesses that don’t align with my morals. The fact of the matter is the girlies are shoved so far up harry’s asshole sometimes they don’t see an issue with continuing to support a company like that, who has a mission statement on their website portraying the exact opposite ! promote your new collection, have your mom post about your haircut, I do not care but it is laughable that they’re pretending at best not to see what’s going on and not caring at worst ! I’m always of the belief celebrities should say less about politics but harry has already put himself in the position of being someone that speaks out for what is right, and it is OKAY for me to expect more from him, let alone his company. Pleasing will not be receiving a single dollar more from me unless they make a serious change, and even then the knowledge that they have seen what is being asked of them and every day are deciding to stay silent, is extremely disheartening and will take me a long time to ever come back from, if at all. The only people upset about what I said are probably guilty of doing the exact thing that they have enough knowledge and chronically online hours to know what was going on, and decided it didn’t matter enough to them to care otherwise. If the shoe fits 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is not hard to boycott a company let alone one that is charging $85 for a beach bag and $135 for a perfume, that will not cause you a single inconvenience if you do not own, I need y’all to be fucking for real

One request for the people talking about the i/p conflict: please don't post graphic videos of death without actively making sure you're telling people it's graphic videos of death?
Also, don't post unmarked links to them either.
Your advocacy cannot come at the disregard of other people's safety.

Since we're in an election year, I'm gonna politely suggest that people be very mindful of what they post and share so that they're not spreading outrage bait. There's a lot of horrible things going on globally (specifically the ongoing massacre in Palestine, lest anyone assume I'm trying to downplay that by being general), but let's try to limit what we share to things that are from verified sources (links to news articles or tweets from authenticated users) to keep misinformation from spreading.
Here is a reminder on how negative emotions can become 'addicting' (and that no one is immune to clickbait or propaganda - including me)
Now, as a social media platform that has to ride the line between being a diary (or addressing a small group of friends) and being a soapbox (making posts that are intended to 'break containment' as this one is) so I hope I'm not coming across as demanding that no one expresses anger or pain as atrocities continue to be inflicted on vulnerable people.
Please try to be avoid making or sharing unfounded, exaggerated claims on what is factually occurring. I specifically mention it is an election year because this website is very US-centric and has been used to spread misinformation with the explicit goal of swinging the 2016 election... and succeeded.
All I'm really saying here is; people are hurting and dying and we need to keep talking about that (or more importantly HELPING THEM however we can) but let's also not blindly spread unverified claims that sow discord and despair. Let's NOT do the facists and colonizers work for them, yeah?

Heads up--my next reblogged post will contain graphic and upsetting descriptions of the genocide in Gaza, because it's going into detail about the case filed against Israel in the ICJ by South Africa. So if you can't take that on right now, I'd recommend scrolling past it quickly. It has several images of tweets, and then documents with green highlighted text.
I know it's hard to see things like this on a regular basis--and I'm not here to be one of those people that's sanctimonious about that true statement. ("Oh you think this is hard? Imagine BEING there!" Yeah, obviously, that would be a million times harder...but that doesn't mean this side of it doesn't suck too, in its own lesser but very genuine way. It's not that helpful to pretend that it doesn't.)
Because for the average person with a heart, who has a government that doesn't listen to them and isn't effectively doing anything at all to stop this genocide, seeing these posts IS still hard. Aside from boycotts, spreading the word feels like the only thing I have the ability, means, and spoons to do to support Palestinians. But the despair of constantly seeing that this atrocity is real and ongoing, and there's almost nothing you can do about it, is significant.
I don't reblog absolutely everything I see about it for that reason. We can't function if we're paralyzed by despair, anger, and helplessness. And unfortunately, our lives' demands don't stop because of crimes against humanity like these. (The fact that I even have to write that sickens me. But my landlords are not gonna accept that I don't have the rent because I couldn't perform at my job because the world is on fire. A fire that could be calmed, but instead, my country is ignoring its citizens and supplying the gasoline that's making it worse.)
All this to say: it's not inherently insensitive to have an upper limit on the information your heart and mind can handle about Gaza at any given time. If anything, that's a sign of caring--your heart still hurts when you hear about it. Just do what you can when you can. Caring without consistently being able to perform that care on social media still counts.

noticed a dip in posts about palestine on my dash, so i think it deserves to be said again: palestine is not a trend. caring about genocide is not a trend. there are still reports about humanitarian aid trucks intentionally blocked off from gaza, meaning so many fucking gazans, a big portion of them children, are just bleeding out with no help. it just came out recently that israelis disguised as women and medics infiltrated a west bank hospital, at which point they killed 3 palestinians (whom they claim were militants. right). these people are living day to day without even the most basic utilities. anyone who claims to have “activism fatigue” needs to question why they’re so severely lacking in the most basic forms of compassion. you don’t get to just grow bored of talking about palestine. please never stop calling attention to the genocide happening full force in front of us.
