What do you think about Mumbo's art cam in the newer episodes?

I am personally still shocked like, HE CAN DO ART NOW? This man won't stop suprising me, I love it so much, also I don't see many people talking about that and I have no idea why because for me it's the best thing ever.

the man does literally EVERYTHING.

when mumbo created @a.creative.junkyard for his art practice, only then I realized that he had literally been doing something like this for several years already. firstly for youtube, and after that he created many presentations of film projects to work with his clients, which already means a quite good basic skill in graphic design and especially the design eye.

still a big fan of his works from this account.

I love how he got creative with the start of season 10, using his skills to add some fun to the editing by creating new slides for his episodes. the way he’s sincerely passionate about creating such things, I empathically feel his joy.

mumbo started visualizing the whole stories through what he creates, and all the effort, work and fun is absolutely worth it. he may have had some small storytelling pieces before, but now it has definitely moved to another level.

the hand drawn concepts. if you look closely at the video, he strokes the colors manually. mumbo gets so immersed in the process when drawing these concepts, it feels therapeutic even. I always liked to see the concepts of the other hermit’s bases, that they drew by hand. since my main hobby is drawing, it always brings me closer to people on some other level when I see their drawings. as a big fan of mumbo, I’m so infinitely happy that he started to show this part of the process too. these concepts always add even more to the result, I don’t know how to explain it in words. just more. more sense of life from a story, from a building itself.

mumbo has knowledge and experience, but it's like he's been focusing on other aspects while building on the server before. in season 9, he started moving in a different direction more, and now it has achieved clear visible progress, he’s more actively experimenting and isn’t afraid to take on something that he has never done. now mumbo is even more confidently saying that he’s proud of himself.

this may seem insignificant to an outsider viewer, but

for a man who has been building redstone stuff and solid giant symmetry for several years in a row, it’s mind blowing.

You've been together for a month now, and him going to your house and vice versa was starting to become a routine. That day, he was the one who went to your house to spend the afternoon.

You were in your room watching a series, when you said you were going to the bathroom and left the room, leaving him alone there. While you were gone, he watched your room, looking at some posters on the wall, books on the shelf, a notebook open on his desk... – a notebook? - he thought. You usually left your desk tidy, so it was rare to have anything "dropped" on it.

He knew it wasn't good to see your things without permission, especially when you weren't there to let him or not, but he thought about taking the notebook and putting it on the shelf with the others. So when he went towards your desk to get the notebook, he didn't expect to see some drawings of him.

Tanaka Ryuunosuke

This man is in love with you more than ever, but now that he has seen your drawings, he is already sure that he would spend the rest of the days of his life with you.

I swear, he almost passed out right there.

As soon as you come back from the bathroom, get ready, because he will praise you until the end of the day (but it's not like he doesn't do this every day, but on this particular occasion his compliments would increase by 100%)

At that moment his eyes almost turned into hearts.

Whenever you would do some of his art, he would offer to be your model; doing poses, gestures, expressions, everything you can imagine.

Chikara Ennoshita

He honestly never thought you would draw him. Among so many things you could observe and put in your notebook, why him?

But other than that, he was quite happy, his cheeks turning pink and an affectionate smile appearing on his face as he watched your artwork that you made with so much affection.

When you got to the room, he would tease you in an affectionate way.

He would try to help you with his opinions when you were in doubt about something.

Draw on paper or digitally? What colors to use? He would try to help you choose these and many other questions.

Sugawara Koushi

He would be so proud of you, I swear.

That definitely made Suga happier than he already was (he always say to you that just being in your company is enough to make him happy).

He would give you lots of kisses all over your face as a thank you!!

There would be times when he would see you drawing, and Suga would sit next to you with a sheet of paper and a pencil and try to draw with you. Even if his aren't as pretty or detailed as yours, you'll have fun together.

He would definitely paste the art you gave him on his bedroom wall. And he would always look at them when he was feeling down as a way to cheer him up a little (and it almost always works).

Asahi Azumane

Someone call an ambulance please, he just had a heart attack...

I'm serious, he was so nervous at that point that at any moment he could let out a not-at-all-manly scream.

Asahi would definitely keep your drawings for life, and always checking them out from time to time.

And if you asked him to draw him someday, he would say yes but he would definitely be a blushing mess.

And I don't know why, but in my mind Asahi is a pretty great artist. He would also draw you, but he would never have the courage to show you because he thinks you won't like them or because they aren't good enough.

Please give him some kisses and praise his drawings, he will be extremely shy about it but his heart will warm with so much love!!!

Sawamura Daichi

He would find the drawings very cute!! If you saw his expression when he was looking at the drawings of himself, you would see a big smile on his face.

Daichi would give you the most comfortable hug you had ever received in your life, and kiss the top of your head affectionately.

He already knew that you drew, and even saw you doing some of them, but he didn't imagine that you would draw him too.

I imagine he would ask you and Yachi to make posters for the volleyball club, with you doing the arts and her doing the designs!

And one of the reasons he did this was not because he wanted to show everyone how well his partner draws, no way... (yes, he did!)

A/N — I barely started writing here and I already disappeared, I'm really sorry guys!!! This week has been really busy for me, so it was a little difficult to finish this one...😭😭😭

13) How much time are you forced to spend by Ivan's side?

"Most of the time, when I'm awake," Leo says, voice hoarse. "He has six workers under contract right now, I think." His eyes stay on the floor as he speaks. "In the beginning, it wasn't as bad, though. He only recently took a–" he swallows, choosing his words carefully "–took a particular interest in me. On nights that he wants me to fight, I usually... I don't, do what he wants, and so I c..." He pulls in a deep, heavy breath. "I don't get to sleep until the last of the guests leave, and then he usually has his men clean me up and bring me to him. When I wake up, it's bec-cause he's woken me up, and I spend most of the day with him in some form."

He forcibly draws in another breath, the color draining from his skin as pauses, closing his eyes.

"On days that he's busy with business, he usually leaves me to his men. I don't know which is better." ( -Leo, answered during the middle of the Ivan contract)

32) Where do you feel safer - with lots of people in the room or with Parker alone?

"With Parker alone," Leo says gently. He smiles, a sad but hopeful thing, and half-shrugs. "When he's alone, I feel like he's more genuine. I know Parker is imperfect... I know that he is, but I think he means well, and when we're alone, I get to see that side of him more. When he's in front of his friends, or his family, or even his colleagues... I never quite know which side of him I'll get. But alone, I think I trust him." ( -Leo, answered during the early parts of the Parker contract)

42) How much do you miss your past life, if you do so? Which aspects of it do you miss the most?

"I don't really allow myself to miss it," Leo says now. He speaks more easily, with less attention to when and where his buyer may be lingering. "For a long time, I didn't allow myself to think about it at all. Luke has asked, a couple times, but they kind of beat my ability to talk freely about my family out of me in training." He sips a bottle of water, and for a moment, you can see him considering a life he did not get the chance to live. "I miss my family most of all, though. If I tried to contact them, I don't know what kind of trouble that would put them in. I know what the DLS threatened me with, but I don't know if it was real or not. Luke's offered, though, a few times... to try."

He sucks in a sharp breath. "I don't think I'm ready for that, though. I don't know if I'll ever be ready to cope with the risk of what that could do to them." (-Leo, answered well into Luke's contract)

47) How much have you changed since the first day in captivity?

Leo's jaw locks and he glares at the camera, but one hand wraps around his stomach and the other grips into his shoulder. He won't touch the collar, or try, in any way, to interfere with what he knows will come next, but it doesn't mean he won't try to brace himself for it.

"Leo," the handler says from the corner. His voice is a mixture of equal parts annoyance and bewilderment at the late-stage act of defiance, and he reaches for the remote. "Just answer the question."

Leo doesn't, and just before the screen goes black, you hear the start of a gutteral scream. ( -Leo, not answered a couple months into initial training)

48) Do you have any plans or hopes for the future now?

Leo is calm when the camera is turned back on, although his face is red, and his fingers shake. He swallows, and says softly, "I hope to f-fulfill whatever requests prospective buyers have of me." ( -Leo, answered an hour after the last one)

50) Share one of your happiest moment of freedom for us!

Leo smiles in earnest. "The first time Luke played the piano for me is, to this day, one of my favorite early memories. I guess it wasn't exactly a moment of 'freedom,' because I was still very much under contract, but it feels like the beginning of my 'freedom', looking back. The first time he played it, I didn't even realize he knew how. I kind of thought the piano was there for show, and mourned its neglect constantly. One night he beat me home, and when I walked in I could hear it, and I think it was one of the first times I felt excited for something, in as long as I could remember. I couldn't wait to go watch him. It was one of the turning points for us, where he started playing again, almost every night, and eventually I did, too." ( -Leo, answered several years later)

So I talked about Frost Queen getting into the main story, and that a possible solution I could come up with being her just joining Dark Cacao in a story to recruit the dragons of his kingdom (assuming they do that), and my brain just kind of took that idea and started running with it, and it culminated in this

I personally like to read the text in a dramatic narrator voice

Also I don’t really know where the “Ice Cold Squad” bit came from, I just thought their names were too long and needed something else, and that’s what I did

Also my first time drawing Frost Queen. Her outfit wasn’t too bad, and I liked drawing her hair, but I did not like that crown. Also as to why Dark Cacao’s in that outfit and with no crown, well I thought since he’s going on a dragon recruiting trip, he probably wouldn’t bring his crown. And as for the outfit, well to be honest I just sort of started subconsciously drawing it. Also I thought “hey, Hollyberry’s got a different outfit than her normal one, give Dark Cacao one too (even though I just drew a pre-existing outfit)”, even though as I write this I realize that Dark Cacao’s outfit is a literal suit of armor and would probably be more suited for fighting than this one. The one excuse I can come up with for a new outfit is that the dragons’ domain is incredibly cold and he needs something better suited for it, as metal isn’t exactly going to keep him warm

But I mean honestly, maybe it’s because my brain has decided it’s interested in Frost Queen, and Dark Cacao is one of my hyperfixation characters, and/or it’s because I’ve recently seen quite a bit of content with Frost Queen and Dark Cacao, but I really want to see Frost Queen and Dark Cacao interact, and specifically the way I want them most to interact is just in a story where they have to work together, and it’s just them. I need to see how they interact, mostly because they both seem pretty similar in terms of personality, and that they both seem relatively antisocial and also dramatic. There’s some comedy potential with these two, along with dramatic potential

But yeah, enjoy them

Yesterday I watched Cartoon Saloon’s short “Screecher’s Reach”, and thought Daal’s hair was almost exactly like how I envision Mathilde Lachance’s hair, so I decided to try and draw her. Today I stopped cleaning up the sketch after about an hour because I got bored, so it’s going here.

Delve deep into her writing/character and expand on it and extrapolate ESP if the source material Does Not do her justice or doesn't give her the things she deserves. Find your pain in her pain and find her pain in yours and give her the things you will never have. Whether it was taken, starcrossed, or never meant for you. It could be for her. It could be.

Bestow upon her a gift, what remains of a life never lived. Leftover love of things that never fit right, never suited you, never were meant for you. Things you learned to love anyway, a love both real and manufactured out of necessity and survival.

And bestow upon her another gift, of love that has nowhere to go, of doors you've had to lock shut, doors you know go nowhere for you. Give her the key. Take up your pencil. Draw her in an adorable outfit. Draw her surrounded by loved ones, who love her so dearly back. Every drawing, a wish. That she can have a kinder life than mine. That I could give that to her. A parting gift, from me to someone who I can no longer host, that can now live on peacefully within her and lead an even better life than it ever could have within me. It was in the wrong house I had to rehome it.

#fun fact! yesterday i had to explain gandalf big naturals to my therapist.#i feel like. there is so much that can be said here.#it's not necessarily about seeing yourself in a female character bc i literally never have.#i could have a few things in common i could acknowledge like oh sakura from ccs has brown hair like mine #and she's in the same grade as me (when i started reading ccs as a kid). but that's where it began and ended.#the first character i EVER saw myself in was nonbinary. and after that i actually started seeing myself #in exclusively male characters. like. it gave me permission too.#but this isn't really about that it's about like. recogizing common ground (keeps you normal about women)#(bc DEAR GOD. w how close i am w my sisters w my prev life experience you think i would be. however #being transmasc can and WILL give you shrimp color insecurities and insane tendencies.)#but it's also about like. an entire life that has nowhere to go. both in the past and in the present actually.#like it's so much more than just dresses i still own and think are cute and pretty and don't have the heart to get rid of #what i'm trying to capture here is it's more than just what you had to leave behind that no longer suits you.#it's everything in the wake of living as yourself and being dead in the eyes of people who say they still love you.#a ghost that haunts itself by living.#and it's about things that just have never been and never will be. the grief of which will consume you forever #every drawing of sharena is a love letter and a wish and a gift. that's what she is to me.

#art review #year in review #art summary #art meme #my art #i wanted to look at them together :)))#i feel like 2018 is a solid start #2019 was a little rough as i learn a new medium [digital art]#2020 was mw sort of finding brand stability in the types of pieces i did #2021 was pushing myself to really improve with focus on texture and unintentional focus on lighting #and 2022 was a fucking STRUGGLE trying to learn how to put art out consistently while working full time #like for example. jan feb march of this year. i only put out one piece each month #bc i rly dont like my job lmao and it took so much out of me >moving cross country >starting first full time job >moving AGAIN across town #also the piece from july looks wonky to me now but it still is the most polished thing from that month bc i did a bunch of quick art fight p #ieces #unintentional themes for this year: realism. red/teal palettes [or more generally warm/cool contrast].#almost exclusively music fanart or mh/sta stuff #idk im always over critical of my year in review stuff when i first make them then warm up as i become nostalgic #you can also notice a trend of yellow slowly becoming completely absent from my works. this is bc my old laptop had issues with displaying #color and washed yellow out so i never saw it. hence why old drawings of ppl look RLY JAUNDICED. i couldnt goddamn see it #and i dont rly gravitate towards yellow too often #aqua is my fave color in general but also to work with #i didnt do 0 traditional art this year but i felt like i did less that usual probably bc i used to work on my bed but now i work at my desk #which is Very Small and doesnt have a lot of space for me to get out pens or paints or whatever #that and also. less time and energy than in previous years :(#my faves for each year by month: jan-21 feb-19 mar-21 apr-22 may-22 jun-22 jul-18 aug-22 sep-21 oct-#18/21 [tie] nov-21 dec-22 [altho i def seem to always push myself to make sth rly good in the last month of the year tbh]

i wish the ppl posting CSP brushes in the assets store would give more demonstration of how the brush actually works in practice rather than here is what a stroke looks like on a white background and here is a fully rendered and finished piece that i used this brush in somewhere

like....how did you use it to accomplish what you did? whats the point of giving us a tool with no instructions on using it? am i just needy???? are we just supposed to pick up on it? are we just supposed to futz around with it and hopefully produce something we like despite probably never figuring out how to use it as the original creator intended??? is that how art is?

#stupid shit #i think its part of why young internet artists get so frustrated #theyll ask artists they admire how they do what they do and get brushes and tutorials on how light works or something #which is fine but being given the resources is only one step #the next step is.... actually using them right. and it just seems like nobody will tell you how #i think its part of why i myself get frustrated ffs #i know anatomy. i know perspective i know how lighting works i know all of these things #but i cant get that Knowledge on the canvas in an accurate or appealing way and i dont know how youre supposed to learn that part #the very popular digital painting teacher who could have offered that to me in college retired the quarter before i got his class ofc #so how do i make the picture in my head come out? what brush do i use to make something look the way i want? what settings will create it??#i cant trial and error without even knowing where to start...#so i guess ill eternally draw like a child whose grasp of the world is outlines and flat colors with shading on top #bc i cant figure out how to do anything else right #the problem with literally needing structure and routine in your life in order to function is that when presented with full freedom #and told to just Do Whatever or Be Random!!!#you just get fucking stuck until something tells you what the fuck to do again #which is why i never get anything done in minecraft frankly #what do you MEAN theres no quests or goals. what do you mean just build and explore?
