the thing about hotd is that it's very smart of them to instead make it a clash between rhaenyra and alicent because absolutely no one would have actually seen aegon II the dogshit and actually wanted him so they had to actually conscript olivia cooke to do some intense love/hate lesbianism pining 600k hurt no comfort for the show to actually sell

Ok but can we talk about how out of all the major male characters that Ryunosuke interacts with throughout the story, van Zieks is the ONLY one that isn't hiding something from/lying to him at one point or another?? Sholmes lies about Kazuma being alive, Kazuma hides the fact that he's going to Britain as a hired assassin, Yujin hides details about the Professor killings from him in 2-2, Stronghart lies about... Well, everything really. Like there's so much I could say about him lol. Gregson hides the fact that he helped frame Genshin for the Professor killings, McGilded lies about having been the culprit in the omnibus case, Jigoku lies about having been the one to kill Gregson... Etc etc. I personally can't remember a single point where van Zieks was hiding things from Ryuu or just straight up lying about important things to his face. He's an ass to him at first, sure, but he's ultimately on the side of justice and finding out the truth, even if it means hurting his cases or having his worldview challenged (except maybe in the case of Klint, which I'll get into).
Now one might say, "Oh but didn't he hide the fact that he had a brother from Ryunosuke at first?". And to that I say... So what? From van Zieks' point of view, details about his personal life (and ESPECIALLY about Klint) are hard to talk about and, frankly, Ryuu really had no reason to need that info about him, other than just to be nosy. That's why he's so cagey about the topic in 2-3, and why he's (somewhat) more willing to talk about it with him in 2-4/5, because at that point Ryunosuke absolutely DOES need to know more about Klint (and the Professor killings in general). And as for Ryuu's point of view, he really has no reason to be asking about van Zieks' personal life at first, other than the fact that he's just curious about it.
Anyways. I really do believe that, despite how rocky these two's dynamic is at first, it's been built on honesty and straightforward-ness from the start, and I really appreciate how we have an Ace Attorney prosecutor who's more than willing to not hide the truth from his lawyer rival (even if he's making dunks on Ryunosuke half the time, lol)

Kindred spirits appear when you least expect them (geddit?).
Normally it wouldn't be a massive deal hating something popular, bc inevitably, everyone's gonna hate something popular at some point in their lives. But what do you do when you hate Me Before You and LOVE Sam Claflin, what do you do then? What do you do, when you see an article about him and get that dreaded feeling in your stomach as you click to open it, bc you know that film will be mentioned? (I want to hug every journalist who doesn't bring it up. Nicely done work, Men's Health.) What do you do when you see all the comments from people who love that film saying how much they cried? (Why? WHY???? What is there to cry about? How easily impressed people are by a cheap tearjerker?) What do you do when that film is sold as the best thing in romance, a True Love (how?), a "doomed love story" (how????? Romeo and Juliet is a doomed love story, not this trash). What do you do when you know there are much, much better, more quality films with Sam to watch, with better developed female characters AND love interests--but everyone ignores them? What do you do?
Will: You're the only thing that makes me wake up in the morning.
Also Will: kills himself.
How truly inspirational! /s

i don’t look at prsk fandom much less vbs fandom even though theyre my 3rd favorite group but anhane is #good in canon because an’s mental illness is so good. where she’s wanted to achieve a dream by herself for so long that she doesn’t know how to go about sharing it with someone (kohane) without belittling them and subconsciously seeing them as inferior and she has to really make steps towards understanding them as an equal and not someone she has to guide or protect

I can't imagine there will really be any more content of the Seisho girls after Climax. Not only was it a reinterpretation of the movie, but it definitely acted like a finale. I hope this means Aina Aiba can get out of Bushiroad hell soon b

The Belle Agency's means of recruitment
The Belle Agency acts as a talent agency but secretly is a supernatural awareness foundation. They carefully use the most appealing and skilled members as agents by utilizing the most common talents or skills they might have to be able to be known for (for example Shanice is a model and actress, and Alasie is a teen idol) to give an excuse for them to be known all around thus granting them more access to more locations than just their main branch.
The recruitment tactics of the Belle Agency in recent decades versus when it first started are drastically different. At the end of the day, the agency's ultimate goal is to protect the supernatural and those with extraordinary abilities. However, the methods are built through calculated pragmatism such as often those recruited as agents are usually the most exploitable from vulnerability to foster loyalty. The unspoken agreement of being indebted to the Belle Agency creates a complex dynamic where loyalty is both a choice and a consequence.
This highly contrasts the genuine compassionate legacy of the original founders before the new head, Natasja Belle took over a decade ago (she's the oldest daughter of the original founders and a dhampir). The original magical human and vampire married pair (Wilma and Clavell Belle) that founded the Belle Agency and treated it for the abnormal and supernatural to have a safe environment to live in, building it to be a society or to eventually adjust to a human-run society (whichever they chose). They used Wilma's acting career as a way to help fund the foundation.
