I’ve had the stupidest omegaverse idea and it’s bringing me so much joy to write fictional inheritance law as it applies to the extended Cinderella family in my incredibly silly omegaverse universe. It’s also providing the precedent that I needed to establish in order to make some of my convoluted political marriage ideas work, so I am feeling very accomplished in my daydream universe today
#please somebody talk to me about my convoluted political marriage ideas#I am Desperate To Talk#my fiance is wonderful as a human but he doesn’t like omegaverse and therefore is not a useful sounding board here#I have so many thoughts about inheritance law as written by people who are trying to legitimize themselves and their kingdoms only#while fully not thinking about the possibility of their families not working out to be perfect and heteronormative#like what’re you going to do if you’ve written in that only men can inherit??#sure you added a clause that your daughter can many a nobleman and he can rule by her side as a team situation#and her children will be considered legit for inheritance purposes#but what if your daughter can’t produce children with this man???#what if you’ve written specific inheritance clauses into your law because you are soooo worried about royal bloodlines??#what if there’s no eligible royal men who could help get you out of this situation??#anyway this is why there’s adoption and surrogacy laws regarding inheritance that are specific to Charmingsburg#which is Cinderella’s kingdom in my heart#Charmingdale is where Snow White lives but that’s actually just the city not the kingdom#I have a lot of thoughts that aren’t just hehe omegaverse sexy for this AU#like the population of the isle has way more male omegas and female alphas than Auradon does#in part because they’re less common in the general population and considered weird and deviant on some level#which means that they’re sort of pushed aside for being inconvenient and not fitting into the Prince/Princess dichotomy#and being pushed aside means that more of them are likely to align with villains#and therefore get sent to the isle#also talk to me about my incredibly useless chart of alpha/beta/omega subtypes#I have a whole fake scientific history about how they were established…..

How did Optimus get the scar on his chest?
also for a knight he doesn’t really have a lot of scars which could mean he’s either really good or really inexperienced (or both)
The scar on his chest is from this incident right here!
Granted this AU doesn’t have a linear plot in mind organized, I‘ve just used this event as a major conflict Megatronus and Sir Orion face. It would take place not long after Optimus finds out ‘Megatronus’ is actually King Megatron himself. Obviously this reveal wouldn't go down so well, making their partnership out of convenience so much more high stakes now that Optimus knows that this mech he’s shared his journey (and his heart) with isn’t after a bounty on the sacred Allspark at all–but has every intention of securing it by any means necessary to save his own people.
In the height of all this drama, Megatron leaves Optimus’ side per the Knight’s wishes, soon after facing a near blinding blizzard and getting ambushed by a hoard mercenaries who caught word of the mission and had every intention of taking both down getting everything they knew about the Allspark out of them. Optimus ends up following after Megs (those damn FEELINGS) and ends up taking a couple of very nasty hits by the straggling few Megs managed to miss after he was finally brought down! Here is where KOBD shows up to pull the near frozen mechs out of the snow and drag them along to the Dinobot Isles where they eventually recover
He doesn't have many scars, but the arrow wounds definitely are the worst of them.
And you're right, it's a bit of both!
Optimus, Sentinel and Elita were all knighted about a decade after the Great War. The Council found themselves in need of a lot more Guard leaders with the looming possible threat of the Decepticons making a return, as well as the dire need for spirited and eager to serve young mechs to venture out for their kingdom to recover the Allspark, wherever it may be. All three nobels were set on the fast track for knighthood due to their status, as well as their prowess on the training grounds.
There were few things that could keep Optimus’ mind occupied from the weight of being the last member of House Orion, pushing his skills and body to the limits in his training seemed to work best. Out of his partners, Optimus was without a doubt the most experienced and promising of all.
Knight Elita’s untimely death was a terrible loss for both the Guard and Council, as Iacon lost one of it’s most promising potential command units which quickly fell apart due to grief. Sentinel and Optimus never emotionally recovered and the rift between them was to great for even the Council to make attempts to amend, such wasted potential…..Knight Optimus was promptly demoted from his station after claiming fault for the incident, however, he still holds the title of Knight for ceremonial/status purposes despite being removed from official service.
Since all those years ago, he does not lead any guards whatsoever and he mostly helps to train young and plucky new guards in basics. (He is the favorite instructor of just about every soldier that comes his way) So no, Optimus has not seen true battle nor faced much injury in his time as a ‘glorified’ Knight within Iaconian walls. Again, grueling training, and now his ragtag group of unlikely friends, Bulkhead, Bee, and Ratchet, are some of the few reasons that gets Optimus up in the morning.
Currently though, the quest to recover the Allspark is his sole purpose in life so that he may pay his penance to his Kingdom and Elita. He’s faced a lot of danger throughout his quest, but with Megatron watching his six, very few have come close to touching him.

The FINAL chapter of my huntlow tangled AU is HERE
fic summary: Of all the magic on the Boiling Isles, none is more rare or powerful than the healing magic of the Titan's Blossom. For years, Philip Wittebane has used the flower's magic only for himself. But when the infant prince of the kingdom falls gravely ill and the Blossom is taken to save him, Philip becomes enraged. He'll take the Blossom back, even if it means taking the entire prince with him.
16 years later, young, down-on-her-luck Willow Park is a thief just trying to escape her situation. Stealing the golden mask of the lost prince would set her up for life, but first she needs to get it back from this strange boy with ridiculously long golden hair she found in this tower.

【大海原 AU:暗黒星の冠】 イダ竜
【WATGBS AU: COTDS】 IdaTatsu
Idate and Tatsumiya 🖤🤍❤️💙
WATGBS AU: COTDS
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an Idate and IdaTatsu centric AU between me and my friends 💞 COTDS stands for Crown of the Dark Stars 👑💫 Its other name is Ankokusei no Kanmuri.
I just wanted to post some rough sketches/WIPs of my magical oarfish wife, and my homicidal oreo, my cat cot son 🤗 Magical oarfish MILF x Buff chaotic demon DILF.
I'm planning to give Tatsumiya matching Star and Moon earrings to match with Idate's Black Sun and Star ones...
Read more under the cut if you're interested in our IdaTatsu AU!
Our WATGBS AU is named Crown of the Dark Stars (暗黒星の冠, Ankokusei no Kanmuri) 💫👑 It's an AU with its own story, separate from the original WATGBS.
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an Idate and IdaTatsu centric AU between me and my friends 💞 COTDS stands for Crown of the Dark Stars 👑💫 Its other name is Ankokusei no Kanmuri.
WATGBS AU: COTDS, which stands for Crown of the Dark Stars, or Ankokusei no Kanmuri, is an Idate centric and IdaTatsu AU between me and my friends that's a complete revamp and rewrite of WATGBS.
WATGBS AU: COTDS is an AU between me and my friends! We all contribute to it whenever we have time to draw and write for it 😌🙏
Summary of WATGBS AU: COTDS would literally just be: (Yoinks characters and the settings, makes an original story)
It's just us writing our own stories and exploring our ideas with the characters, mainly focused on him and his dynamics with other charas. We made up our own lore and revamped the characters' writing and designs. It's just us playing with our revamped and rewritten blorbo OCs in our sandbox 💞
WATGBS AU: COTDS is centered around Idate, a chaotic evil demon orca man who originally wanted to unleash the apocalypse, but became too mellow after meeting Tatsumiya.
It's an Idate centric AU that heavily focuses on IdaTatsu (Idate/Tatsumiya), and the platonic familial dynamic between the orca brothers, Idate and his older twin brother, Takama. And it has a heavier emphasis on fantasy elements. And we have our own OCs we created for it too, like our IdaTatsu fankids 🤭
Idate: The Star Eater and Grand Demon
Idate (伊達 (イダテ)) is the evil protagonist of WATGBS AU: COTDS 🖤🤍💙 He is Tatsumiya's husband and Takama's younger twin brother.
Idate is the "Star Eater" and Lord of the Underworld. Idate drinks peoples' blood and eats their souls as nourishment. He and his older twin brothers are Demons. They're secretly Grand Demons (大魔王, Dai Maou), who have much more powerful magic than other Demons. They originally lived in Iceberg Isle, but Idate ends up convincing Takama to move to the Blue Sea Kingdom with him so he can live with Tatsumiya.
He's a chaotic evil demon orca and the evil protag of our AU, which makes him very fun for me to write! 🐬💞 I love writing for IdaTatsu and the others, and coming up with and adding onto each everyones' ideas whenever we discuss.
He's extremely chaotic and the world's most insufferable wifeguy /endearing that falls devastatingly in love with and eventually gets married to Tatsumiya. They feel drawn to each other, someone who's the complete opposite of the other, someone who represents what the other has never known, and tries to figure each other out.
Idate's character theme is "Void" 🖤
Idate eating and stealing souls also plays up to his whole void theme.
He's the Lord of Space and the Underworld, whose void world that contains the dead souls of all the people he ate for power.
Idate's powers represent the concept of "Void."
Idate can access a different dimension (the void between worlds), to create darkness and call it from within himself. Infinite darkness. An infinite void. Idate can create and access voids, and can call upon and manipulate darkness.
Idate's leitmotif is the Black Sun. His void is a black hole.
Idate can make makeshift weapons from dark energy. It's a black demon aura that can be controlled at will and slash into things.
Stardust is the source of all magic in the sea in our AU. Idate can make makeshift weapons from dark energy (black stardust).
Tatsumiya: The Dragon Flower and Grand Sorcerer of the Blue Sea
Tatsumiya (竜宮) is the Grand Sorcerer of the Blue Sea Kingdom 🤍❤️ She's the Lord of Creation, and Idate's wife. And also my wifey wife wife <3 🥰😘 She's a magical oarfish that serves the Blue Sea Kingdom's Princess, Lucinda, our Blue Sea Princess (BSP) OC. Her specialties are healing and star magic. 🌠
She's known as the Dragon Flower (龍花, Ryuuka) because her reputation with the sword spread across the Blue Sea. She has soul restoration and soothing properties with her powers to calm souls.
Tatsumiya is the Messenger/Aide to the Blue Sea Kingdom's Princess 💞 Her title is Grand Sorcerer (大魔導士, Dai-Madoushi). In our WATGBS AU, she took on the role after Meikai's disappearance.
Tatsumiya's leitmotif is the Moon.
As the complete opposite of Idate, her main powers are controlling flowing water, star magic (creation magic), and healing. Her royal duties as the Blue Sea's Messenger, are similar to a shrine maiden's.
Tatsumiya is so wifey to me 🤭
In WATGBS AU: COTDS, she is Idate's wife!
IdaTatsu: The Two Messengers, the Sun and the Moon
Tatsumiya is the Blue Sea Kingdom's Grand Sorcerer. Idate is one of the Grand Demons that came from elsewhere. The two Messengers of their opposing Gods.
Idate and Tatsumiya are opposites in terms of their powers, personalities, and roles. Both Idate and Tatsu are Messengers of their opposing "Gods" and queens. Our own OCs, Algol and Lucinda, are the Red Sea Princess (BSP) and Blue Sea Princess (BSP) respectively.
Tatsumiya, one of the brightest stars in the sea, and Idate the Star Eater 💞
WATGBS AU: COTDS' headcanon versions of the characters' designs
In our WATGBS AU's revamped versions of the charas (our headcanon designs), Idate is buff and has scars.
He wears blue eyeliner, and black sun and star earrings to match with Tatsumiya's red eyeliner and star and moon earrings 🌠☀️🌕
(I'll add Tatsu's earrings in the future!)
Idate wears blue eyeliner, which is the same as Tatsumiya's favourite colour, ultramarine blue (群青色, gunjyou iro) 💙
At first this was coincidental, I added it to his design cuz I thought he looked nice with eyeliner and so it'd have great visual contrast with Tatsu's design, but then I found out that Tatsu's favourite colour was ultramarine blue. So the colour I chose for Idate's eyeliner coincidentally, ended up being the same as Tatsu's fave colour…
Unintentional big brain play from me 😌
I want to give them matching couple eyeliner and earrings! Idate wears black sun and star earrings, and Tatsu wears moon and star ones ☀️🌙🌠
Ofc these are still WIPs, so I'm planning to add them eventually.
IdaTatsu are the Sun/Moon, Yin/Yang, Light/Darkness themed couple in our AU <3 The Black Sun and the Moon ☀️🖤🌙
IdaTatsu's leitmotifs have a lot of narrative significance in COTDS, which ties back to our AU's central themes 🙏 I've given a lot of focus to their relationship ☺️
Name Meanings
Idate (伊達) 伊達 = Meaning “elegance; gallantry; sophistication; showy; having style”, or “putting on airs; showing off”
I chose the kanji reading Idate (伊達) cuz both meanings fit him very well! 🖤🤗
Idate (伊達) is my headcanon kanji reading of Idate's name. Since I wanted to pick a reading with a fitting name meaning for him!
My son. My homicidal oreo… 🐬 Oreorcat
I'll eventually turn these WIPs into concept art reference sheets! Though I might format them differently.
Tatsumiya (竜宮) 竜宮 = Meaning “Dragon Palace”
It's an alternate reading of Ryuuguu 🐉🏯 The Undersea Dragon Palace from the story of Urashima Tarou in Japanese folklore.
It comes from 竜宮の使い (Ryuuguu no tsukai), a giant deep-sea oarfish, known as "The Messenger/Envoy of the Undersea God's Palace" which is exactly what Tatsumiya represents as a character!
I chose kanji readings of Idate and his older twin brother Takama's names, as well for our other OCs in WATGBS AU: COTDS, like our IdaTatsu fankids. I'm excited to show them in the future 🤗💞

I secretly like to imagine that one of the unnamed peak lords of SVSSS is Irish. How did they get to the four kingdoms? No one knows. But they're red-maybe-blonde, pale as fuck, and very "from ye olden emerald isle, don't question my anti-fairy wards and just give me more salt and iron please"
The reason I like to imagine one of the peak lords is Irish is because Ireland has no native snakes and only one lizard.
I really, really like the idea that there's this one peak lord that's mortally and morally offended that Zhuzhi-lang exists, on pure principle.
"There is no need for there to be so many scaley things and what do you mean this one doesn't have legs, kill it with fire immediately!"
That seems like the sort of misunderstanding where all the demons think that Zhuzhi-lang has a very passionate admirer.
Irish peak lord telling people about how gold is to be found at the end of a rainbow, guarded by an angry short person in green - no, that's not a reference to Shen Jiu's green robes, sorry Liu Qingge. He comes off as hot-tempered next to the more stoic Shen Jiu - particularly with how easily his face flushes red with anger.
The Irish peak lord if really good at brawling and fighting (as a result of having to fight off curious peers / adults who want to touch his red hair.)
And then there's also his need to fight all the weird animals who shouldn't exist. Like the one snake who keeps appearing like every month, trying to slither in his hair...

HTTYD Books Fanfic Poll
Hello, my fellow Dragonmarkers! Today, I've decided to make a poll. There are several ideas I'd like to work on, however, I'm struggling to choose which one to start on first. Granted, I have a feeling I know what you guys want me to work on first, but I still want to ask anyways. 😏
So before you vote, I'd like to list down the options below and a little summary as to what each choice will be about.
Poll will end on Hiccup's birthday on February 29th. So spread the word. 🙏🏻😉
『 All of these story ideas will try to cling to canon events as much as it can, or at least be loyal to it as canon-inspired. 』
<><><><><><><>
Thuggory's Saga
This story will be on Thuggory's POV throughout the Books and what was going on behind the scenes when Thuggory wasn't around.
Thuggory Name Parody Series
This work will be a one-shot series consolidated into one story that has Thuggory doing various things based on what his name is (i.e. Thuggory will be thuggish, Muggory will be drinking a mug or mugging somebody, Chuggory will be chugging ale, etc).
Fishlegs' Second Impossible Quest
(Post Book 12) Fishlegs drags Hiccup into yet ANOTHER Impossible Quest when Fishlegs seems to have forgotten his lesson and was caught sending love poems to Barbara the Barbarian. Suffering scallops, Fishlegs! Didn't Hiccup just say to NOT do this again?! 💢😠😒😑🙄🤦‍♂️
Actually, wouldn't it be hilarious if that's how Hiccup got married because everyone thinks that the love letters were HIS and not Fishlegs, causing him to marry Barbara or some other chick. lol 🤣
Exile on Cannibal Isle
(Book 1) What if the adults had decided to banish their youth that evening after their failure, regardless of the thunderstorm? Our hapless youths end up becoming Outcasts — not on the Mainland, as planned, but on Cannibal Isle instead: an island filled with natives and Outcasts who had a fondness for human flesh. How will Hiccup, Thuggory, and Co. escape their current predicament? And will they return in time before the Green Death roasts their Tribes to well-done human kabobs?
The Tale of Two Swords
Told from Endeavor's POV (and sometimes from Stormblade's), this story delves into their respective origins, how they came into the hands of their respective owners, and the events leading up to the conflict between Alvin the Treacherous and Hiccup the Third. Two swords, two grudges, two wills, two forces, and two ideologies will clash for supremacy!
Hiccup's Saga
(Post Book 12) This story will focus on Hiccup's story AFTER his ascension as the 13th King of the Renewed Kingdom of the Wilderwest. As well as his achievements, his experiences, his struggles, and his life milestones. This will try to stay loyal to the books and to the books' epilogues.
Hiccup the First's Saga
Told from Hiccup's POV until he meets Wodensfang, which will then transition to Wodensfang's POV ever afterwards. This will get into the details of his birth, the war with the Uglithugs, the Hooligans getting ousted from the Mainland and their migration to Berk; it will get to Hiccup's childhood and adolescence, the start of the brutal Human-Dragon Wars, and how he eventually meets Wodensfang; then his defeat of Merciless/Green Death, the founding of the Kingdom of the Wilderwest, and his achievements and milestone events as King, until his death.
Hiccup the Second's Saga
This will focus on Hiccup the Second's life from birth to the time of his death, including his life with his adopted draconian family, and his reunion with his father and family, and his struggles ever afterwards. I plan on this being told from his POV. Not sure whether to have this be a third-person narrator like what the Books were, or to have it be in the first-person in the manner of Hiccup writing an autobiography.
What do you guys think?
Hiccup's Young Chief AU
This story idea dives into what would happen if Hiccup had to become the new Chief of Berk early on in his youth. From this point, we have several options to choose from.
1) Have this be a sequel to "Exile on Cannibal Isle" if the ending ends up being tragic for the adults, and Thuggory and Hiccup are left to pick up the pieces after slaying the Green Death.
2) Have this set in Book 2, if Stoick dies in the fight against Alvin, as a consequence of the curse of Grimbeard's treasure.
3) Have this set in Book 7, when Madguts the Murderous was about to execute Big Bertha and Stoick in revenge, and Hiccup failed to return on time.
4) Have this set in Book 9, when Stoick is missing (via Excellinor the Witch), and Hiccup never finds him again.
5) Have this set in Book 9 when all the adults are missing or perished, and the Warriors-to-Be are the only ones left in the School (aside from the Outcasts, obviously), and so everyone has to fight together in order to escape.
6) Have this set in Books 10/11 when Stoick dies in battle and Hiccup is forced to lead his Tribe in their fight against both Alvinsmen and Dragons.
Old Wrinkly's Saga
(Pre-HTTYD) This focuses on Old Wrinkly's POV, from his origins, to his life, to the events of Humungous Hotshot and his daughter, to her eventual marriage to Stoick, to how he came to live with the Hooligans, aaaaaall the way to Hiccup becoming King.
Valhallarama's Saga
(Pre-HTTYD) This story focuses on Val's POV from her birth, to her romance with Humungous, to her marriage to Stoick, to her son Hiccup's birth, to her many MANY Quests, aaaaaall the way to her death.
Alvin's Saga (or Saga of the Outcasts)
(Pre-HTTYD) This focuses on Alvin's origins: from his birth, to his upbringing, to how he turned his Tribe into one of the most "modern" and dangerous Tribes in the Archipelago, how he came across the Legend of the King's Lost Things, his fateful encounter with his future arch-nemesis Hiccup, and his gradual elevation to ultimate power. I might have this story end once he meets with Hiccup. Or maybe I end it with his death. That's up to you guys.
Snotface Snotlout's Saga
(Pre-HTTYD / HTTYD) This story focuses on Snotface Snotlout's origins: from his birth, to Hiccup's birth, to the origin of his rivalry with him, and so on — right up to his death! (Or I could keep him alive instead?)
Norbert the Nutjob's Saga
(Book 4) This story is about Norbert's origins: His birth and childhood, his father's death, his dream to go to the New World, and turning the Hysterics into the greatest Viking Tribe in the Archipelago; his fateful encounter and feud with Hiccup the Third, and his eventual downfall. And then his return!
Deadly Shadow's Saga
(Book 10) This story is about the Deadly Shadow's origins: From birth to hatchling, to their fateful encounter with their mistress, Fishlegs' mother; her meeting Alvin and giving birth to his child; the death of Termagant and the Disappearance of her only child; of their eventual conversion to Furious' rebellion, and of their reunion with Fishlegs; and much more.
Furious' Saga
(Book 8) This story is on Furious' origins: His birth, to his meeting with Hiccup the Second, his life with him, facing his 'brother's' death, imprisonment, his meeting with Hiccup the Third, his escape, his rebellion, and finally his departure.
The Viking Tribes of the Barbaric Archipelago
This is a nonfiction fanfic that dives into the geography, history, culture, and customs of every Viking Tribe in the Archipelago (in the Books). You can look at this as a Guide to the Archipelago (an All You Need to Know About X book), or as a history book composed by a future historian. Take your pick.
<><><><><><>
Thank you very much for your support! I look forward to the results of your votes, and I'll let you guys know what the top 3 choices were by the end of February 29th.
Long Live the Wilderwest!

It had been a fortnight since you had seen Prince Danforth. You had enjoyed your time with him more than anything, that kiss was still lingering in your mind and lightly kissed your skin with warmth. Yet, the haunting discovery that he had revealed beneath the isle of paintings detailing his ancestors had left your bones rushing cold.
You couldn't daydream about his lips against your skin, or fingers intertwining together underneath a veil of moonlight, there was a possibility of him being mistreated — how he confessed he felt like a humming bird tethered in a gold cage with disloyal eyes around every corner — and your mind couldn't abandon the thought. It was almost feverish; it hurt to even scavenge a nightmare that raw, but you couldn't betray him that way.
"I promise, I'll tell you everything." He said, his forehead gently brushing against your own, he was so close you could remember his breath soothing your jaw, your lips. There was something so tragically intimate a lot that moment. How Derek had so many secrets and this was one of those rare, naked occasions where he was being faithful to himself. Where he had trusted you. Alas, he bit back everything. Derek was not only afraid for himself, but for you, and you only.
He swore under his breath with that twinkling smile that could soothe even the deadliest of vipers. Then, he had pulled away and part of you still craved that closeness, "I love you too much to let you get hurt because of my ignorance. Time will tell, just be patient." Derek's obvious attempts to shy you away from your worries didn't work.
You were still driving yourself mad thinking about him. Thinking about those secrets. Thinking about your kingdom. So many people you cared so deeply for could possibly be in danger.
"Pardon me, Noble Talis?" your secretary tip toed across the overflow of documents and books scattered across your floors. He stiffened, clearing his throat and dove his gaze into his papers. "The Danforth House has arrived for your date? By the Weeping Woods."
"Don't worry, I haven't forgotten." You answered as your eyes searched through what used to be your bedroom. Your treasury, statues and silk coated mattress were blooming with rogue papers. You had forgotten you had been busy these last few days researching as much as you could. With no leads, it went as frustrating as you could expect. "I'll be down in a moment," you stumbled through the floors. It was hard not to slip. "I just need to find my trousers,"
Maybe your date with Derek could give you some answers to cool whatever firey whim was dancing in your head. The Weeping Woods was apart of your land and you knew it better than anyone. It was secure, private and lush. Derek could tell you everything he needed to and if there were spies looming in Tallis, well, you had no present conclusion on what to do next, but you were sure if you got your answers everything would be easy to map.
You prayed he wasn't hurt in any way. It'd just kill you to see him in pain, even if you hadn't seen him in a long time, you still loved him — Derek was your best friend. Hopefully you would be proven wrong. Of course he wouldn't be injured. Why would Queen Danforth sent her ill son to Tallis — one of their greatest patrons? Yes, yes. He's probably safe and sound, fresh as a daisy.
You had rushed down the steps, formally greeting your loyal workers until you had reached the grand, pearly doors and tugged your best smile together. Once opened, the gentle morning light had calmed your nerves well enough to face the royal carriages mounted below. Your eyes had searched and searched, but no Derek.
You began walking down, only remembering a few faces. Micky Barnett, or Sir. Barnett was Prince Danforth's second, his loyal secretary. So, you inhaled sharply. "Greetings," you bowed your head lightly, "um, where is Prince Danforth? I figured he'd be here . . . waiting for me." Disappointment clinged to your tone. Did he not want to see you personally? Or was something wrong?
Oh Heavens, you were overthinking again.
Micky adjusted his collar and then took out his pocket watch. Probably to distract his eyes, he felt slightly intimidated by your presence. He sucked his teeth, "Went to the stables a few minutes ago. Said he was waiting for you,"
"Ah, thank you, Sir. Barnett." Relief washed over your body language and your shoulders fell and you couldn't help but smile softly. As excitement began to rile, you bowed your head a second time and fixed your wear. Derek had flashed in your mind and it was already naming you so flimsy. How did he do that?
"No problem, Noble Tallis." He smiled lightly.
You didn't know Micky very well. But you knew that he and Derek were closer than anything and that they were inseparable, even when they were children. You had a few vague memories of running across the palace but they were thin in your mind. Silence began to trail and he was swallowing his breath, as if secretly begging you to leave.
You didn't want to talk to him further anyway and you just wanted to see the Prince once again. You were eager, desperate even.
How was he? Was his skin and hair as fair as you last saw it? Was his smile still great enough to make you fuzzy? Was he alright?
You couldn't keep boiling yourself with these questions because you were nearing the stables and you had to keep your sight pierced. Though, Derek wouldn't be much of a challenge to find since he was always making himself stand out like a sore thumb with blinding jewelery and rich gowns.
Your boots seeped into the mud and you strolled through the flattened yard. There was no sign of him. Though, you had noticed a horse was missing from her post. Before you could even think, the stomping of hooves began to present itself closer and closer within range. You spun around to see a tall, white coated mare flicking her tail with a sparkly silhouette perched on her sattle.
"Beautiful weather, were having?" Derek smiled. His grip was tight on the reigns, and his cheeks reddened apologetically. "Sorry I wasn't there to greet you. I was far too educated, I mean, horses! With you!"
"Well, hello to you too." You replied, "And it's no problem, I was taking a bit long to get downstairs anyway."
"Oh, how come? Royal duties?" Derek tilted his head.
Or a mountain of rubbish research flooding your room. "Yes, but it was nothing important. Nothing at all,"
He chuckled and slowly trailed behind you. You could hear his horse growing tempered at the lack that of speed, which wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The mare he has selected was Blizzard, an impatient, thrill chasing creature who was always overwhelming to handle. Though, Derek was enduring her quite fine — how curious.
"Well, what are you waiting for? You wanna ride or what?" He challenged, his face beaming with excitement.
You had decided to your own horse, Quail, a thundering mare with a golden flease and dune-like eyes. Derek may have gotten the quickest horse, but you had the wittiest. You knew this forest and you were sure to throw him of course — and lead him far away from the palace, where you could finally talk.
You both had arrowed through the marshland, crushing bushes, twigs, leaping across boulders and streams. The adrenaline was running hit and sweat was pearling on your skin, which was already halting your breaths. Derek was nearing the front, "You'll need to be a lot faster if you want get the best of me." he cackled.
"It's on, pretty boy." You teased.
"Oh, resorting to pet names, are we?" The Prince was shining with competitiveness, his thirst for victory was nothing but blazing. He howled loudly before urging Blizzard to increase her speed. You could taste flakes of dirt hitting your face as he descended into the woodland, so you steered and rode downward. You were above Derek now, galloping quick enough to jump down and stumble back into the lead.
"What? Where did you—" he rasped. "Oh, cheater!"
"Not a cheater. Just smart!" you cooed.
Laughter shot through the forest like gunfire. You felt like a kid again and for once, you weren't thinking of all the bad in the world. Just Derek Danforth. Your faces met for a few seconds and you swore he was feeling the same thing.
There was a brook by the edge of the woodland and you were both determined to hoof it to your now titled finish line. It was neck and neck, but Quail bucked herself toward as quick as the breeze itself and came to a sharp halt at the rim of the tiny shore. Derek scrambled a few seconds after, huffing.
"It feels nice to beat you again." You turned to see a messy Prince catching breath above a seemingly indifferent steed, "Oh, you look rough."
"It's been a while." Derek insisted, running his hands through his blond locks. He smoothened his face, "Plus, I was just going easy . . ."
"Someone's a little sour." You snickered, basking in the crown of glory.
"Prince Danforth is never sour." Derek protested. His tone was still soft however and he narrowed his gaze lightly across the greenery. "It's fantastic here. We don't have wild life in our House, it's mostly just stone."
You slipped off your saddle and tied Quail to an oal tree, which acted as your post. "Well, would you like to explore? We can walk around, maybe catch up?"
Derek glared into the apex. Then licked his bottom lip and nodded, face softening. "I'd love to." You could get lost in him for days, weeks even.
The trees soared into the deep, blue skies and families of wildflower webbed across the thrush landscape. Sunlight was flickering through the waving tree branches and the scent of the sweet streams coarsing through the grass land and cattails was blooming in the air.
You both began walking down the trail, Derek's hands were binded behind his back. He drank up the scenery, tone no longer holding a seductive ring, but rather something comforting and domestic. "It's been so long since I've been in Tallis. I missed it so much. Well, I missed you more."
Your face warmed, but you couldn't fall for his charm right now. You had to ask, "Derek, about the royal ball—"
"Before you continue." He interrupted, "I have something to show you."
You shut your mouth and watched him dig his gloves into his pocket, taking out a thin slip of paper carefully. It was an envelope with a yellow print of a bee, but it looked like it had already been opened.
"Derek, what is that?"
"Read for yourself." He extended his hand and you took the page, gripping it tightly. The edges were spoiled with age but the handwriting was careful and nearly perfect. Your eyes ran across the text, you read outloud:
*May it please Your Majesty, it has come to my attention in the body of Talis that the public is stirring suspicion. Your patrons have been growing jaded — whispering about abandoning your allyship in return for relations with Queen Talis, along with her court — and our scouts have been following as best we can to gather as much as possible.*
*The previous shipments mentioned in your previous encounter with Adam Clay will be returning shortly. Due to the seas opening for the other Houses our services may be sluggish.*
*I pray our meeting under the blue moon is still in session. We've decided to take heavier precautions this time around, and our smiths have created some keys as a way to monitor members. A lot of spies have been discovered this fortnight.*
*— Best regards, General*
"General?" You echoed, "What kind of name is that?"
Derek explained, "That's what I said! Look, it mentions an Adam Clay, my mother has been meeting him. It looks like she's involved with something. Just don't know what," he continued. "I did some research in my study. The symbol belongs to a Clan of bounty hunters, Beekeepers, they've been around for centuries now."
This was so much to take in. "What would your mother need assassains for? She has her royal guard. You don't think she's . . . planning to use them on anyone, are you?"
Derek was stunned and there was doubt shading in his dark eyes. His response was atypical, "I don't know, Tallis. I never expected this from her and it's making me worried. I think my subjects are spying on me, now."
He took your hands and you traced your thumb against his fingers softly. Derek exhaled, "I trust you with this information. Your library is more bigger than mine and by now, I think my mother is ordering to destroy any books relating to it."
You drew him close. "Derek, this is madness. We need to tell the other Houses about this and—"
"No! No, you can't. If you do, my mother will probably send those hunters. She won't hesitate to kill people!" Derek snapped and his nails dug into your arms. "Promise me Tallis, swear to me that you won't tell anyone. I'm begging you." He shook your wrists, "Please?" his voice lowered.
"I promise." You nodded gently. "I won't tell a soul." Derek dropped his head and his gaze was wrinkling with tears. He was rambling, "Thank you. I knew I could trust you,"
Then, he straightened himself and hummed softly. "I apologize if I got too intense, it's just been so much to hold in. It gets so overwhelming,"
You pulled him into a light embrace. If there was the possibility of war brewing, it could result in the tranquil society the Houses built to collapse into ruin. You could see blaze cutting the air, the rolls of remains and the charred bits of what used to be utopia.
You melted into his arms to fend off the nasty wolves clawing in your mindscape, holding him tightly. You ran your fingertips across his shoulders, seeking great comfort in touching the wear he was clad in. Derek breathed into your neck and you shivered, "I hope this didn't muck up our date."
"Not at all." You whispered, "It actually put my mind to rest." and you opened the gap between yourselves once again. You grew flustered, "And it was fun racing you and all."
"You're acting as if it's all over." Derek said softly. "Our date is supposed to last all night isn't it, hm?" He took your hand. "Let's not let it go to waste."
— — —
14 days ago . . .
His fingertips graced the edges of the envelope, eyes hawked on the golden print with a perplexed gaze. Derek was resting on the foot of his bed, palm running across the darkened monarch's pelt. He was locked within his chambers, isolated from outside theory. He didn't know why he was so fixed on the design of a silenced envelope. For some reason he couldn't open it. It felt wrong. Like some outside force was intertwined with his brain — compelling him, tempting him to shove it back into the enclosure of his cabinet — yet, he finally sucked in his nerves and tore up the flap.
Now this was no time to think about manners. He acted as if he had lost the lion shares, feeding on scraps as his eyes ran across the page. The letters were in careful writing, yet the page was stained with age.
*General*? Who leaves their name as *General*? An alias, perhaps? He then noticed the engraving was stamped onto the page. The same bee.
His hands pryed into the envelope and dragged out a curious, long blue key. The same symbol on the blue stem.
Why was his mother involved with all of this?
Derek stuffed the key into his pocket, along with the envelope. This symbol felt familiar.
He quickly exited his bedroom, racing down the hallway and warmly greeting a few cleaners sweeping the quartz floors. Derek rarely went into the library. He already had a shelf full of heavy reads he never escaped to, the only people he figured would go inside would be Wallace or his Queenship herself.
They were both busy tonight and if anyone was inside he'd pester them away; he was Prince after all, even if his power worked to an extent.
The trip through the labyrinth of contents was overwhelming at best. He had nothing but candlelight flickering in the darkness and even with the vague light he knew there wasn't anything about bees.
Maybe he was working in the wrong sections. The note mentioned something about scouts, shipments and the blue moon — nearly a few twilights a way.
War.
Derek quickly raced through the isles with firefly light and hushed breaths, eyes flickering through large titles overhead until he found his designed genre. His hands traced through the engraved books, until he found it. The bee symbol.
Not just one book. Nearly a dozen. How far did this history go? Whatever, he took all of them; scattering the books all across the table. He took the nearest he could see through his bubble of fire and flipped as fast as a hummingbird. Bounty hunters, assassins, advanced weaponry. They were cunning as foxes, dripped in light iron and skill.
"Beekeepers," He whispered. "Why would you talk to my mother?"
"You shouldn't be here." A voice commanded. Derek felt his hair stand up, but he tightened his fist and gazed behind his shoulder with nervous eyes.
Wallace Westwyld had seemingly manifested from the darkness, only now arriving into the bubble of flickering candlelight. "What are you doing, Master Danforth?"
"Catching up on reading." He swallowed. "Just needed something to help me sleep."
"I never took you for the historical type," Wallace's gaze didn't stir. "Regardless, you should be returning to your room. It's late,"
He wondered what Wallace was doing out so late himself. But, he couldn't harness anymore suspicion. He stood up, cleaning the sand from his eyes. "Yes, you're right. I should. Goodbye, sir."
MWallace's gaze fell to the books scattered across the tabletop, and his face stretched out in shock. He muttered, "Oh, child. What have you gotten yourself into?"

In Princess Luz Au: So Luz can get Vee to trust her, but how can Camila convince Hunter and Amity she can be trusted around Luz? Hunter's baseline for "Luz's Parent' being Belos, and Amity's baseline for "Motherly Figure" being Odalia means they can finally agree on something!
GOD. this question immediately spawned a million potential interactions and made me feel so soft. you're right hunter and amity WOULD distrust her. i can Just See hunter tensely being like "just because she's blood doesn't mean she has to be family, i would know-" and luz being like "hunter relax. it's not like i'm letting her take over the kingdom" and amity butting in like "no he's right. I Would Also Know-"
like thank you both for the vote of confidence. really making luz feel more confident about an already awkward and fraught situation I'm Sure !
if we're working with a timeline where camila has known vee for two years, though, then she has several major advantages. she knows more about what to expect from the isles than her canon self (even if some of the world's Creatures still take her by surprise). she's spent time studying magic and theory to try to find a way into the isles. and she's emotionally braced herself for the worst. whatever the worst may be.
i think that the main way camila would convince hunter and amity that she's trustworthy is by simply..... not trying to convince them. she remembers a lot of this from getting to know vee. all the mistrust and anxiety and occasional aggression.
like. she'd treat hunter and amity (and honestly, also luz) like stray cats. hi, i'm warm, i'm affectionate, i probably have food, i am Not going to try to pet you or scoop you up or get in your space. te lo prometo!
i think amity would spend a really long time trying to figure out camila's Secret Agenda. and come up with completely inaccurate and completely insane conspiracy theories. the trust comes slowly, frog-in-boiling-water style. it's not all that dissimilar from how she eventually starts trusting that luz is a kind person.
and i think hunter would be combative from the get-go. and that camila would IMMEDIATELY clock at least Some of the reason for this. and that it would be hard for her not to go into mama bear mode.
like, hunter's eighteen or nineteen here, he's Technically An Adult (TM), but he So Clearly has been doing this for Such A Long Time. camila just wants to be like. no baby it's Okay. i won't let anything happen to either of you i Promise. you don't need to take the world on your shoulders
but she can't!
because she is the thing that hunter's worried is going to happen to them!
so like. it's just. showing a stray cat that you're a safe person. hunter is extremely transparently terrified of leaving luz and camila alone together, so camila never suggests it. hunter tenses up when camila gets too physically close to him or luz, so she's careful with her movements and body language. hunter always positions himself in a way where he can easily get between camila and luz, no matter where they are or what they're doing, and camila doesn't say anything about it.
amity and hunter are clearly luz's People, whatever words luz uses to describe it, it's probably a long while before camila feels familiar enough to ask. she and luz have the same approach to people, in just. Relentless Kindness. Forever
i'm overtired so i haven't reread or edited this stream of consciousness, i just. waugh.

Could you try and do one for the Maleficent AU where Maleficent herself shows up somehow. Maybe Gilgamesh is like hello there beautiful and Thena gets all jealous and protective and then they have a fluffy comfort at the end.
Stunning.
She was elder than Thena, not that one could tell a fae's age based upon appearance. But something about her...she was a faerie of old magic. Black horns coiled from her head, her wings were black in some light and brown in some. They were huge, long and silken, practically dragging on the ground behind her.
Her lips were red like a fresh pomegranate.
"Thank you for escorting me, captain," she thanked in a silken voice. She smiled, the colour of her lips making it clear when they tugged upward gently.
Gilgamesh blushed.
Thena pursed her lips to herself, observing from a respectful distance.
The fae was from the Moors, word had it. She belonged to another mothernest entirely, one more inland and to the north. She had a great control of magic that most fae didn't even possess anymore, much less know or teach. But her relationship with the humans was good, and thus she was acting as an ambassador of sorts.
"I will bring word back to the queen and to my own flock. I'm sure the mothernest will welcome any of yours who would like to see our ways."
"I'm sure some of us will take you up on your offer."
Thena tilted her head, trying to get a look at Gil's face as he said it, but his back was facing her. She didn't like how eager he sounded.
"You have done good work to associate with the humans here, it is admirable," she congratulated him, her eyes still catlike and intimidating.
A bird - a crow, or perhaps a raven - cawed on the head of her staff.
Thena tried to at least get a good look at the fae's familiar, but its head tilted too often.
"It hasn't been easy at all turns," Gil admitted freely. "But I think we're making real strides. Some of us here have good history with humans, so we're trying more, I guess."
Thena smiled; he was mentioning her, in not so many words.
"I value a fae who can see past a human's nature," the woman said with a hint of a laugh in her voice. "I have a...complicated history with them, myself."
Gil laughed. "I gotta admit, I wasn't all that fond of 'em. But I guess they're growing on me."
Thanks to her, Thena mused as she waited and waited and Gilgamesh to conclude his conversation. He usually wasn't one for idle chatter with his charges.
"They have 'grown on me' as well."
The fae had an interesting speech pattern, like she wasn't used to conversing with her own--or conversing in general, perhaps.
"You are welcome in the Moors as well, of course."
Thena's wings bristled, her feathers raising in their follicles. Just what kind of invitation was that? An invitation to the mothernest was one thing, but was this fae proposing Gilgamesh come and take a tour of her home?!
The bird cawed again (definitely a raven).
The woman's hand stroked its feathered head, and Thena saw that she even had long claws on the end of graceful fingers. Perhaps it was a trait of northern forest fae. They had trees to scale to make their nests.
Thena pursed her lips, raising her wings into proper posture as she decided that she had waited enough. "Excuse my intrusion."
"Thena?" Gil said aloud, surprised by her interruption.
"Of course," the female observed her with those same predatory eyes.
Thena did her best to keep her wings still behind her as she stopped behind Gil's shoulder. "I was rather fond of the humans who inhabited the Isles a number of decades ago. I understand you have a good rapport with the human kingdom close to your mothernest in the north."
She tilted her head, her bird mirroring the action. "Indeed, the queen of the coastal kingdom and I are quite close."
She said it like there was more to it than that. Thena tilted her head in return, "Gilgamesh does well with the humans. They're fond of him."
She smiled, "I'm sure they are."
Thena's feathers raised again, although she did her best not to seem too ruffled by the technically innocuous statement.
"Thena's the one who's built the best relationship with them," Gil shifted, even putting his hand on her shoulder. "It's thanks to her that we've made any progress."
Thena tried to look at Gil in thanks for his praise, but she had far too much trouble taking her eyes off the woman facing them. She seemed amused; was what Gil said humorous?
"Thank you for your hospitality," she smiled at Gilgamesh again. Then, she turned to Thena, "I hope we will cross paths again. You should meet the humans of Ulstead."
Thena nodded, not entirely sure what to make of the exchange.
"Until then," she nodded, her ruby lips upturning again. Her wings outstretched, and her familiar took to the sky ahead of her, "guard, Thena."
Thena and Gil nodded to the woman as she launched herself into the sky. Her wings were truly strong, letting her climb at an incredible rate. Beautiful too.
"She was nice."
Thena glanced over at him, with his hands on his hips and a dumb grin on his face. She sighed, letting her fangs breathe.
"I figured you'd like her."
Well, since he seemed to like her so much. "Hm."
"You should see the Moors, I bet you'd like them, based on how she described them."
"Would I?" Thena asked him, irked that he was suggesting so openly that she go visit this...stranger. "She told you about them at length, did she?"
"Well sure, she asked about the mothernest here, what the forests are like," he shrugged as they started walking back in the direction of the cliffs. "The Moors sound interesting--magical, she said."
"Did she?"
That came out a little too sharp. Thena felt it as soon as it was off her tongue, and obviously Gilgamesh received its sharpness. She avoided his eyes as he looked at her. "You okay?"
"Of course," she muttered down at the sandals on her feet. "I'm glad you enjoyed your time with her."
That came out even sharper, somehow. Gil tilted his head but Thena even moved somewhat away from him as they walked.
"Hey," he said more gently, pulling her back by the hand, "wait, just look at me."
She didn't want to. She felt flustered by how strongly she had reacted to a strange fae smiling at him. Well, it wasn't just that, it was how he had smiled at her, too. Thena squirmed (as did her wings).
"Thena," he prompted, "did she...bother you?"
She frowned, feeling heat creep up her neck. "You seemed rather impressed with her."
Gil stepped closer to her, his smile turning more gentle. This was more like the Gilgamesh she knew and...knew. "She was nice. She knows a lot about humans. And she's flying back to be with her family."
Thena peeked at him.
"I told her all about you," he said with a grin. "Told her about how you came up from the southern Isles and I've been enchanted by you ever since."
She rolled her eyes. He would not charm him way out of trouble this time.
He leaned closer, though, moving his hands to her cheeks to make her meet his eyes. "Don't believe me?"
Thena's eyes fluttered, his breath hitting her cheeks. "You seemed rather enchanted by her, as well."
He chuckled before leaning in, touching their lips together gently. "Did I?"
He damn well did. Thena kissed him again, rising up on her toes.
"How could I be?" he smiled, moving his lips to her cheek as he slid his hand up her back and between her wings. "When I've already found the most beautiful fae in all the realms."
Thena inhaled as her nose hit the robes over his chest. He smelled of sea air and of pine forests. She nuzzled into him, although she felt something in the folds of his tunic.
He had her feather slipped into his robes, over his heart.
"Am I forgiven?" he asked as she wrapped her arms around him as well. He massaged between her wings with one hand and held her waist with the other. Their heads hovered close, their horns even knocked together slightly in their proximity.
"Just," she offered minimally. She still wasn't happy with how taken he seemed with the beautiful fae, no matter how little she blamed him for it.
"What if we stop by the human farms on our way home, ask for some apples?" he suggested as he grasped her hand in his.
"Hm," Thena sighed, parting with him somewhat reluctantly. Her wings fluffed behind her. "I suppose that would be agreeable."
He could clearly tell her ire wasn't nearly what she made it seem to be. But he played along, bowing to her as he would when they had first met and were coming to know one another.
"Will you carry them home for me?" she asked needlessly. Of course he would, but she was savouring the idea of a feeling like a fae with a perspective mate wrapped around her finger.
"Anything for you," Gilgamesh promised her, bending his head to kiss her shoulder as she passed him to take off first.

The Shadowlands have haunted the continent for years. The shadows encroach upon more and more territory each month, slowly eating away at the natural magic and resources. Creatures birthed from its incorporeal form run within its clouded cover, darting between magic sources and eating voraciously. A deep chasm and large mountain range were supposed to keep the threat at bay, but the careless actions of a king now gone have rendered one particular kingdom near defenseless. Between a gap in the mountain range with a path leading right into the blotted chasm and general instability after a severe social upheaval, this kingdom is essentially the entire continent’s last defense before the monsters take over. Unfortunately, what was once a bright union has been divided. The oncoming blot has put portions of countries at risk of becoming uninhabitable, diplomatic relations have fallen apart, resources have been strained, and some countries are virtually isolated - politically and geographically.
Pyroxene has all but cut off relations with other countries, focusing on protecting its northwestern border from shadowed devastation. The Coral Coast has seen a massive increase in difficulty trading, with only one country allowing access to the continent’s goods and the Shadowlands’ influence slowly driving their year-long winters to harsher extremes. The Queendom of Roses places strict regulations and high tariffs on all passing economic activity, granted authority to do so and the economic stronghold by maintaining the strongest relations with neighboring countries, The Coral Coast, and even the far-off land ruled by Che’nya. The Scalding Sands has outgrown its domestic market and needs to stimulate the technological advancements of the nations to spread the limited fresh water and improve foreign trade. The Sunset Savanna has fallen behind on social progress, using expensive galas to promote international relations rather than focusing on strengthening its independent improvement. Nobody has seen or heard from anybody in Briar Valley or the Isle of Woe, but at least rumors managed to escape the Isle.
Your country is small and holds little renown or political influence. Perhaps this is because many countries, former allies, began to shy away once civil unrest turned into a revolution. The former king had spent too little effort on protecting the people from the spreading shadows, instead diverting resources to protecting your resources and his life of luxury. After years of strife, the people finally overthrew the king - and, as your family played a major part in the uprising, it was decided by the people that you would take over in his place. It was supposed to be a reward, but the farmland was no longer as fertile as it once was, torn apart by blot and war; the people were mourning lost loved ones, lost homes, lost livelihoods; the countries you once would have depended on were no longer allies of yours; the blot was approaching day by day. There was no joy to be had in the tattered remains of a selfish king’s castle.
Your father, the leader of the rebellion and now the king, gave you an important task. While he guided the reconstruction of the kingdom and kept the Shadowlands at bay, you would act as a diplomat. Your country needed help to prevent social, economic and general collapse. As the future heir, it would be beneficial to make these connections in person. Thus, you were sent to befriend the current rulers and heirs of the neighboring kingdoms in the hopes of acquiring new alliances and resources to rebuild and defend your homeland. All you had to your country’s name were the crystal and magestone deposits the old king managed to salvage (about the only thing he did right), and your last shred of hope that the war hadn’t snuffed out. It might take a miracle, but regardless, you set off on a quest to save your country, the continent, the world, from complete Overblot.

Your Kingdom + General Information
When I say "royalty AU," I am kind of operating with a European royalty vibe. 1st - I know that "European royalty" is a vague term and encompasses MANY different cultures. I'm thinking the fairytale vibe of a Disney movie (ha) or just a generic kingdom, yknow? Secondly, for characters like Kalim and Leona, I'll lean on what canon already gives us for their kingdoms. I just want to address that I will be relying on what comes naturally to me so it won't be 1:1 with reality! I am going for that general fairytale princess vibe for this whole AU. I'm sure you get what I mean <3
You get to name your kingdom! This is because, when I came up with his AU, I made the kingdom name based off of my last name, which I don’t want to expose. So feel free to create your own name for it! (also just realizing that the name for me kind of sounds like a known bacterium…..so it’s better i keep it to myself LOL)
Also, the reader is implied to have both parents and some siblings, though most of the time they won’t do much more than make a few appearances. Some assumptions I’m making for my sake: your father was sort of the head of the rebellion and is taking over as the king, your mother plays a bit more of a background role and is a little sickly (it’s not specified, nor is she meant to be deathly ill - unless i need drama later lol), and your (younger) siblings are not taking this quite as seriously as you. If you have older siblings, you can pretend they were either already married and settled in life and were simply granted some noble status, or they passed on becoming the heir and since your family has gone a non-traditional route, what’s one more disturbance?
You have also participated in the rebellion. Whether you were mainly a soldier or only fought occasionally and spent most of your time strategizing, rationing, providing medical aid or what have you, you know a little bit about fighting and a lot about war. You still have much training to do, as you wouldn’t do well against another country’s more stable forces, but you can hold your own in a scuffle.
Your kingdom may not hold much political power but you still have a very valuable export that can be used as a convincing bargaining chip…….access to the most magestones in the entire continent. In fact, your kingdom mainly provides other countries with precious jewels and gemstones, plus most of the magestones in circulation. The naturally occuring magic in the area mostly goes to your land, upholding the border between it and the Shadowlands, which means less people in your country are mages than others.
Also this is a fantasy world all of your mining practices are SAFE
Due to the fact that your country relies heavily on mining (and the fact that generally you live in a very rocky nation), I imagine the country’s official color to be gray/silver. However! It’s not as dreary as it sounds! Any dresses or suits you may wear can be more silvery instead of gray, and I do imagine that there will be more color brought in eventually ;)
I have a little map of how I originally imagined the world (subject to change but I’ll doodle a new one if I change it) and will explain a little bit of the effect their location has on the country if it’s important in the respective housewarden's section. (trust the image ok it’ll make sense. hopefully)

Also there are more waterways and geographical features and such!! I just marked major ones to get a feel. Idk how geography works I’m American
For now, my focus is on the housewardens. I do intend to explain the other characters eventually, but it will take time!
Ok i think that’s it! Now, onward to the story!

No, not me casually teasering future content
You see, there is actually much more to Megabird and Angst lore than... Megabird and Angst themselves... so I really need to divide regular Sky from everything my brain made up about it.
You thought Four of the Isle and Umbra was it? *maniacal laughter* No, my friends. Why do you think we do such strange dailies as admiring the sapling or rainbow? Why do we celebrate days of gratitude and feats as separate holidays, even if they are about the same thing? We may not know, but those are legacy of ancient entities who once watched over the kingdom, but now left. And I made a whole au about them and their dynamics with elders, who are also interesting characters who deserve love.
It might be a series of posts that later will grow into comics or something else. Anyway, I am very pleased to finally give at least a glimpse of what I've been brainstorming with my friend. Closing Sky plot holes is hard, but I try and hold it dear to my heart.
*dissappears in the dark*
