it took a ridiculously long time to find "sunshine" in my wips considering how much I compare wille to the sun, but here it is (from my folklore au):

He races her into the sea to yells of approval from his friends and sister, and when he throws himself into the glittering water gleefully and emerges soaking wet with his shirt sticking to his chest and the sunshine in his face, he sees Wilhelm, staring at him with his mouth open and a deep flush crawling up the side of his neck.

for gentle, this is from my hades and persephone au

 He’s in a flimsy excuse for an outfit– a white button up with blue stripes tucked into black pants not doing much to shield him from what Simon knows must be freezing cold to anyone primarily used to the gentle warmth of spring.

Hello lovely! 💜

G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Both, I guess. When I write the fic, I write it in order, but if I have ideas for scenes I want to add in, I write them down in a note on my phone. I don't actually write that scene until I have written the fic, though. I just write down the bones of it. The general premise, maybe some dialogue I want to add. Other than that, I leave it until I've reached that part of the fic. It's just easier for my brain to keep it focused that way.

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Usually 3.

1st draft is just writing. A vomit draft, if you will. Every thought gets put down on paper. Nothing is left out, and the detailing isn't very good.

2nd draft is the editing phase. I read it and edit it here. I cut things that aren't needed, I add things that are. This is when I check to make sure everything makes sense and the overall writing is coherent. It usually still isn't perfect after this. Voicemail Box the OG got to this stage, but not past it.

3rd draft is finalization. This is when I listen to it. I have my computer read it to me. I read along and catch the errors, fix them, and move on. This is usually when I get the closest to "perfection" though there is no such thing as a perfect draft.

So three drafts. Two revisions.

Lisa looks at him over the cup of her own black coffee and states frankly, "Well, you seem to be aware that I am neither blind nor dumb. So even though I had a lovelier time on this date than with many others, I don't like to be the consolation prize for anyone. Especially not if they're ogling the actual prize while said date is happening."

Wille splutters and turns a probably impressive shade of tomato red. "I– what–– no. I mean–"

"Okay, let me rephrase this then: You wrote on your profile that you're queer. You've been staring at the handsome man standing over there"– she nods her head in Simon's direction– "on and off since he went to stand at the counter. And while this man is quite nice to look at, I was fine with looking at him once and appreciating the overall package, while your count is up to ten. Which leaves me no choice but to conclude that you’re completely smitten with him and haven’t worked up the courage yet to do something about it. Am I onto something?"

Ha, that is a very good category of fic indeed! But considering this is sort of the Heavy Angst fandom... not always easy to find.

“Simon, we are an inclusive group. It’s an adult queer romance book club, I doubt that anything you are wearing could–” Wille trails off with a splutter and stares at him as Simon opens his coat and shrugs out of it. Simon doesn’t know if he should feel self-conscious or proud that he made an obvious man of words lose them with cutout tights and a glittery mesh top under his big, violet fleece scarf. It really does leave very little to the imagination, he thinks to himself as he unwraps the fleece. Wille clears his throat, squeezes out “I’ll get you a hoodie,” and turns on his heel to speed walk to the other direction of the shop. 

29. Biggest surprise while writing this year? How well all four coops with @pagegirlinwriting went and how much better of a writer it made me. It challenges you if you have to keep up to another excellent writer.
