Rain Code Ship Week 2024
Date: August 8th - August 14th
Welcome to the Rain Code Ship Week account! This account is dedicated to all the ships within Rain Code, from the wholesome, to the toxic, to the crackships, to whatever fits your fancy!
Since this is a general ship week, everyone will have a chance to vote on the prompts! You can vote for what the prompts will be below:
This poll will be open for two weeks. Once all responses have been collected, I will share the results and show the final prompt list.
More info about this event under the cut!
This is a general Rain Code ship week, which means that anyone can participate! Wholesome ships? Sure! Toxic ships? Go wild! Selfshipping? Of course! OC x Canon? Absolutely! All ships will be tagged first with the most popular ship name, if applicable (i.e. ship art of Yuma and Desuhiko will be tagged as kokobolt), and then by the character names divided by an "x" (i.e. Yuma x Desuhiko).
For you work to be shared on this event's accounts, please tag your works as #raincodeshipweek2024
--
This blog is not spoiler free! However, any and all spoilers will be tagged as "rain code spoilers" and "mdarc spoilers"
--
This blog will permit NSFT content under the following conditions:
The work is tagged as "nsft" and "18+" along any other content warnings that may be needed.
The work is linked through an external website such as pixiv, AO3, or poipiku.
--
Hate, harassment, and discourse are not welcome here! This event is for fun, and I do not care about shipping discourse. Any bad faith actors invading the ask box or tags will be blocked and ignored.
Thank you, and I hope we'll have fun!

Fandom Gripe #23: I know that fandom is in some deep denial about its treatment of female characters that are canonically involved with fan favorite m/m ships, but do y’all realize that when you disappear female characters from the narrative wholesale to push the idea that your canonically straight fav was “secretly gay all along!” you’re making several bad implications? That 1) bi men don’t exist, 2) bi men do exist, but those who have genuinely loved a woman before cannot genuinely love a man after that (therefore bi men don’t exist in practice), 3) women cannot inspire genuine love and devotion in men, therefore any relationship with a woman is “lesser” than the one they later have a man (see previous parenthesis), or 4) to acknowledge the existence of a lovable woman who isn’t a terrible person, where if a relationship previously existed, it did not end because of “incompatibility,” is enough to destabilize the present relationship between two queer men?
Because why is the tgcf fandom allergic to acknowledging that He Xuan had a whole ass fiancée that he loved? Why does no one ever seem to remember that the kidnappings and murders of He Xuan’s sister and fiancée were the final straws that sent him on his rampage, and he still keeps a shrine to them in the present-day of the story? Why is her entire existence and significance to He Xuan as a man, character, and to his character arc disappeared in favor of pushing Shi Qingxuan—the brother of the man responsible for his fiancée’s death—into that same role, as if to say that her impact on He Xuan is significant... just not when it's from her? Why does He Xuan’s life in fandom essentially begin not just after her death but because of it?

kirbytober 2023 21 + 26 : fav characters + ship [ prev || next ]
putting this at the top because it's extremely important but i received a message implying that some folks headcanon these two as drastically different ages. you may headcanon whatever you like of course, but in my work i firmly think that they're both full adults who are at least 25+. this is abundantly clear in my work. i'm not interested in headcanoning any of them as literal children and i would never touch that shit. dni if you think that sort of ship would actually be okay. don't be a freak. thanks.
very typical to take your favs and then also shove them together but isn't that the point. anyway i have literally never seen anybody else ship them (if you're out there... hello... 😭) despite them both being very main characters and i don't know why?? they could be so cute i think...
they are both industrious adventurers, prolific hard-workers (team task doers), and a little cheekily competitive!
i think that bandee is no stranger to a wide variety of close and intense relationships; he's beloved by many and loves them all equally but distinctly in turn. magolor on the other hand has been sooo isolated and lonely for such a long-ass time, he barely knows how to be friends let alone really care for someone. bandee is smart enough to be suitably wary but kind enough to give him a chance despite that, which i think would knock him off his non-existent feet instantly. in reply, magolor could give him something unique by loving and prioritising him utterly singularly, in a way bandee wouldn't even have realised he was missing
in awtdy (pictured in the sketch page; if you see a tattered looking magolor in my art it's probably this au) in particular they are both thrown into the angst soup together and come out insanely trauma bonded at the hip. their friendship/relationship is central to the plotline; together they're working on a solution to the timeline anomaly, while also hiding that they even really know each other the whole time

Man was far too quick to respond 🤔
[image description: two uncoloured digital comics of Joel and Jimmy from Empires SMP.
First comic - Jimmy sits in the foreground, looking up at the giant muscular statue of Joel in Tumble Town. In the next panel he is looking away, blushing while laughing to himself, saying “He’s so annoying ha ha ha”
Second comic - Joel gestures casually with a hand on his hip as he says “I was wondering if you’d make a child with me?” Jimmy begins taking of his vest looking determined, saying “I never thought you’d ask.” End ID]
