Like my previous Deadpool illustration, I went into this piece with much more of an empathetic light than anyone would expect for the radioactive man of all characters. Someone just told me it was a ’Black Friday’ yesterday, I thought it was next week but in fact we now have a ’Black Week’. //LOCKDOWN-MELTDOWN - I made this for the digital art contest 'digi-inc', hosted by @petrichor.iitpkd - - The theme for the competition was 'life in lockdown' which really got the clogs in my head turning as I wasn't so sure how I was gonna share this universal experience and also keep it subjective. In the end tho, I decided to just lean into the only thing which kept us connected yet also bounded to this day throughout this entire debacle. That white noise that keeps those intrusive thoughts away. The black mirror in all of our pockets. Our mobile phones. Also, the composition of this piece is inspired by a painting called 'disease' from one of my favorite artists @aleksandrawaliszewska and that one scene from videodrome.
