The late hours of the night should have been for sleeping, or so it was like that for most people, except Mike, the guy who had forgotten what it meant to sleep for more than a couple of hours per night. Reason why there he was, sitting on the old swing set, a rather oversize sweater ( definitely not his ) almost keeping his whole frame hidden, only the tip of his fingertips barely peeking through the sleeves, & gaze focused on the dark night sky, barely any stars in sight.

At least he had company, albeit there was silence stretching between the two of them, it was a comfortable one, until whispered words broke the spell, ❝ Sometimes it feels like we are just monsters afraid to find a child under our bed. ❞ Cryptic words, or perhaps he was simply reminiscing his lost childhood.

Dozens of deaths reveal risks of injecting sedatives into people restrained by police

At least 94 people died after they were given sedatives and restrained by police from 2012 through 2021, according to findings by the AP in collaboration with FRONTLINE (PBS) and the Howard Centers for Investigative Journalism. That’s nearly 10% of the more than 1,000 deaths identified during the investigation of people subdued by police in ways that are not supposed to be fatal. About half of the 94 who died were Black, including [Demetrio] Jackson. Behind the racial disparity is a disputed medical condition called excited delirium, which fueled the rise of sedation outside hospitals. Critics say its purported symptoms, including “superhuman strength” and high pain tolerance, play into racist stereotypes about Black people and lead to biased decisions about who needs sedation.

Paramedics drugged some people who were not a threat to themselves or others, violating treatment guidelines. Medics often didn’t know whether other drugs or alcohol were in people’s systems, although some combinations cause serious side effects. Police officers sometimes improperly encouraged paramedics to give shots to suspects they were detaining. Responders occasionally joked about the medications’ power to knock their subjects out. “Night, night” is heard on videos before deaths in California, Tennessee and Florida. Emergency medical workers, “if they aren’t careful, can simply become an extension of the police’s handcuffs, of their weapons, of their nightsticks,” said Claire Zagorski, a paramedic and an addiction researcher at the University of Texas at Austin.

In Minneapolis, an oversight agency found the use of ketamine during police calls rose dramatically from 2012 through 2017 and body-camera video showed instances of officers appearing to pressure paramedics to use ketamine and joking about its power. The department told officers they could never “suggest or demand” the use of sedation. Facing criticism, Hennepin Healthcare halted a study examining the effectiveness of ketamine on agitated patients. The Food and Drug Administration later found the research failed to protect vulnerable, intoxicated people who had not given consent. By 2021, the American College of Emergency Physicians warned ketamine impacted breathing and the heart more than previously believed.

But the AP’s findings show risks of sedation go beyond ketamine, which was used in at least 19 cases. Roughly half of the 94 deaths documented by the AP came after the use of midazolam, which has long been known to heighten the risk of respiratory depression. Many came during police encounters in California, where ketamine is not widely used. Midazolam, a common pre-surgery drug known by the brand name Versed, is also part of a three-drug cocktail used in some states to execute prisoners. Other cases involved a range of other drugs, including the antipsychotic medications haloperidol and ziprasidone, which can cause irregular heartbeats.

Yet, over time, prominent medical groups and some experts pointed to overuse of sedation during police encounters and a disproportionate impact on Black people. Even supporters of the practice have acknowledged that the wrong patients at times have been injected. The deaths of Black men in police custody, including the 2020 killing of George Floyd, put pressure on the medical community to re-examine excited delirium. The ER doctors group in 2023 withdrew approval of the 2009 paper and said excited delirium shouldn’t be used in court testimony. Some doctors called that decision political and note the group still recognizes a similar condition — hyperactive delirium with severe agitation — that can be treated with sedation. But today no major medical association legitimizes excited delirium.

In more than a dozen cases reviewed by AP, police asked for or suggested the use of sedatives, calling into question whether medics were working for law enforcement or in patients’ interests. Officers often suggested their detainees had excited delirium.

This is basically a what-if Stephen and Tony knew each other since they were kids, but they kinda drifted apart cuz shit happened.

This idea is still within the MCU verse but not Endgame compliant. All the stuff in the movies still happened, but the beginning is different. Maria went on a trip with Tony and the Jarvises while Howard was busy doing SI stuff. Maria just wanted Tony to have fun and isn’t constantly grilled about what he knows by Howard.

Let’s somehow make Beverly, Stephen’s mom, be friends with Maria, so they want Stephen and Tony to meet. Howard has a winter home in the Rockies or whatever, so Maria invited the Stranges to the winter home. Tony and Stephen immediately click, having so much fun because Tony isn’t punished for doing childish things for the first time ever. Stephen has someone to play with who isn’t his sister; Donna is still a baby.

Tony and Stephen play in the treehouse, where it’s warm inside; Jarvis and Ana are in the little sunroom next to the treehouse to keep an eye on them. Tony and Stephen have so much fun playing make-believe. Like the whole week, Stephen and Tony can be found playing in the snow and the treehouse.

A time skip to like the high school times, and Tony got early admission to college, so (some mathing is happening) Stephen as a senior who just graduated, Tony in his third year of college. Tony and Stephen kind of drifted apart between the time skip. Let’s just imagine Obadiah convincing Howard to change his mind when Maria wants to relax at their winter home and take Tony with her to have fun in the snow away from the grilling from Howard. It’s summer, and Stephen just graduated and he’s on a summer trip with his parents, but they’re letting him explore by himself. They’re in New York, and Stephen is wandering around Central Park when he sees a familiar face. Tony recognizes him too but is hesitant because what if it isn’t Stephen? Anyways, Rhodey pushes Tony into calling out for Stephen because he can tell that Tony might have feelings for him. Rhodey walks a few paces away from the two because that’s his brother with someone he doesn’t know, even though Tony knows him. Rhodey is a little overprotective because he’s witnessed many people just using Tony to get some kind of 15 minutes of fame or money. Stephen and Tony end up watching the fireworks that go off at night. That’s also the same night that Rhodey knows the two are meant to be, but the timing isn’t fitting, like it’s not time for them to be a couple yet.

Another time skip, and again isn’t time yet for Tony and Stephen to be a couple, and they know it. It’s been a few years since the last time they met. Stephen has graduated pre-med and is now in med school. Tony has graduated and is taking the reins of Stark Industries a few years after the death of his parents. The two just happened to see each other as they walked the sidewalks in downtown new york. They also end up spending a few hours together. It’s nighttime and theyre at central park and under a lamp, they kiss. They know that they love each other, but it isn’t time yet. They kiss as a promise to find each other in the future.

Bonus Time Skip:

Many times skip later, and it’s post Endgame, and Tony is still alive. During Infinity War, when Pepper and Tony were at Central Park, they were just sharing their wedding dreams. Pepper thinking about her future wedding plans for her, Happy and May, and Tony thinking about Stephen and what their wedding might look like. Again, Peter Quill and Rocket remembered how the Guardians dealt with the Power Stone and got everyone to hold hands with Tony, so the energy from the Infinity Stones isn’t all following into Tony. Tony wakes up in a hospital bed and Stephen is asleep in a chair next to his bed. Stephen wakes up when Tony places his hand on top of Stephen’s head. Stephen abruptly stands and passionately kisses Tony right on the lips. After they kiss, Tony all of a sudden proposes on the spot. Stephen says yes. Tony convinces Stephen to get on the hospital bed so they can cuddle. Rhodey who also happens to be in the room is like “Oof this is deja vu with the rooftop scene all over again.”

Right, so...I have a lot of OC's. Holy crap, did this get long. I'll go by fandom to keep them organized, and listed here are just the main player types, not background characters. And if you want to know more about any of them, they can all be found here.

Fallout 4

Nora Howard (Junkyard 'Verse series): My first SoSu. Nora is the default name and I struggled for a long time to come up with a last name for her. At the time, I thought it would be funny for her to share a name with Todd Howard, and then it stuck.

Valara Thorsgaard (Set to Repeat, Subject to Change): Lamb the Younger gave me the first name and I liked it. Val, for short. The Scandinavian last name was just...I dunno, it felt right?

Honoria Wilcox (No One Knows): 'Honoria' is a version of Nora. Her maiden name was Beaufort, because it was slightly pretentious and so was Honoria's mother. Wilcox was her late husband's name and she was glad to take it.

Eleanor (Nights series): Another Nora variant, no last name.

Joan Whitfield (The Bargain): I wanted something different for this OC since she ends up with Kellogg. (All my Nora variants end up with Hancock.) The first name comes from my extended family, and the last name sounds lawyerish. 😆

Tien Xu (Unexpected): Ahh, the SoSu from my first real AU. She's a Chinese prisoner of war who ended up in the Vault. No real reason for her given name, but 'Tien' was my favorite chemistry professor's last name back when I was in college.

Alice Monroe (Amends to the Dead): My most recent SoSu. From the get go I wanted her to be a badass, because let's face it, you get pretty OP'd with some of those skills in-game. 'Alice' is a nod to Resident Evil. 'Monroe' is just because it sounded good.

Mass Effect Trilogy

Jayne Shepard (Soldier, Spectre, Savior series): It's the default FemShep name, but I changed the spelling. That's really it.

Jehanne Shepard (Some Kind of Resolution): Henna, for short. Jehanne is a phonetic variant of Jane.

The Wayhaven Chronicles

Aya Batra (Little Things): Batra is one of the surnames you can choose when making your Detective, but Aya was my own invention. It's a variation of an old D&D character (Aeo, who in turn is a variation on Io). Someday I want to write more for her.

Dragon Age

(oh boy, here we go)

Da'Fen Carlisle Mayers Lavellan (Until It Squeaks series): Carly, to her friends. My first MGIT. When I created her I wanted her to be a 'just some person' kind of character, so she needed a name that didn't stand out much. Tbh, I don't even like it. I think I was halfway through writing Twist when I decided it was short for Carlisle, which eased my meh a little. Then as time went on in the story, she earned the rest. Abelas was the first to call her 'Da'Fen' because she was the Consort of Fen'Harel, and she was formally adopted into Clan Lavellan after the events of the main game.

Imogen McLean (Wicked Things series): My ex wouldn't let me name Lamb the Younger Imogen when she was born, so I decided I would save it for a character someday. And so I did. 'McLean' because she's of Irish descent, and I knew a girl by that family name when I was a kid.

Eliana Hawke (Wicked Things series): I tend to give my F!Hawkes unique names, I guess. But this one was for the purpose of Imogen getting to call her Elly and Elly getting to call her Genny. It was a deliberate 'the names you use denote intimacy level' kind of thing.

Terisin Mahariel (Wicked Things series): It means 'Flint-like'. I wanted something hefty for the HoF, something that would give the impression of gravity and determination. And then everyone in the fic shortens it to 'Ter'. 🤣

Mira Foret (Driftwood series): This is actually a nickname, her full name is Almira. Her family name on Earth was 'Wood', and upon being transported to Thedas, she changed it to 'Foret', which is the Orlesian version of the word. There is actually a reason she has these names in particular, but that gets into level 40 IRL stuff, so I shan't say.

Carmilla Hawke (Maker Damned Fools): Cara, for short, and only if you have her permission. Back when I first wrote MDF, I had a notion that Leandra wanted to give all her children names beginning with the same letter. "How'd Bethany happen?" Varric asked. Because they didn't know they were having twins and had to come up with a name on the fly and Malcolm had a twisted sense of humor. It makes more sense in the fic. Anyway, she hates the name, and thus goes mostly by Hawke.

Hera Trevelyan (No More My Heart Beats Without You): I just liked it. Didn't even know it was the default name of F!Adaar. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ellisora Lavellan (Flowers For Fen'Harel series): Everyone uses Ellana. It's the default. I don't like defaults (usually) and will twist them around any which way until I find something I do like.

Sa'vir Lavellan (No Strings): It means 'the First Path' or, more precisely for her character, 'the Only Way'. It was both to give some backstory to her and was a nod to her being inspired by The Unending Wake's Vir.

Lahalaan Lavellan (My Blood On Your Hands, Your Teeth In My Skin): Ahh, my poor Laani. She kicked around as an OC for a long time before I finally was able to write something for her. She was always meant to have a longfic, but it never happened. It means 'Like the Foxes', and it suits her as a redhead and a rogue class.

La'Vise Lavellan (Just Like Fire): The title of the fic is the definition of the name. She is my one canon story. I am utterly unsurprised at myself for not finishing it.

Lark Cadash (All the Earth and Air series): Again, default is bleh. Malika > Lika > Lark. Then I leaned into the bird symbolism.

Shae Cadash (Destiny Is Just In the Timing): This is apparently a popular name for a Cadash, lol. In order to set her apart (both in fandom and in my head), it's actually a nickname. Her full name is Shaelgat, meaning 'Unto Shale', and it has Lore(tm). A daughter of every generation is named this, and will be until they find the golem they're named after.

Banal'ras Nydha, the Twice-Born (Hope Is a Fragile Thing): She's actually a MGIT, who was given the name 'the Shadow of Night' by Solas in the Fade before she became corporeal in Thedas. She has a shtick that goes with it, the ability to use Fade cloak even though she isn't a mage otherwise. Ya know, like Cole. Her story and name are part and parcel with each other and mostly because I wanted to make an OC who was Deeply Mysterious(tm) without ever explaining it. The legend-mark comes from the Avvar, among whom she lives at the start of her fic.

Virlas Lavellan (I'll tell you my sins (and you can sharpen your knife)): Default, bleh. Symbolically fitting name, yay. It means 'the Way That is Given' or something like that. This was a giftfic turned treat for the Solavellan Hell Exchange, and I didn't think too hard about the name other than something that would fit for a post-canon Lavellan.

Rinna Cadash (What Lies Beneath): Another giftfic OC. Dwarven names tend towards being short and this one just felt right.

Eshali'nan Lavellan (A Wolf Named Vengeance): This fic is a modern AU collab with my beloved Angel, and someday we'll finish it, lol. Esha, for short, was another OC that kicked around for a long time like Laani. She has quite a backstory that will likely never get told because frankly, I'm tired of writing DA retellings. Originally she was a Sentinel in Arlathan, who spent most of the intervening years in uthenera like Solas, but woke a generation ago. She lived with the Lavellan clan and was chosen to go to the Conclave. The name means 'Daughter of Vengeance' and was chosen for her at her elevation to Sentinel status.

labyrinth for the wip game!!!

"Labyrinth" is the name of my 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' AU — named for the Taylor Swift song of the same name bc it's literally the fic in a nutshell lmao. I've already written the summary:

Devastated by his breakup with Patrick, David gives up Rose Apothecary and moves back to New York in an attempt to move on with his life. There, he’s introduced to Dr. Howard Mierzwaik, who claims to have the solution to his heartache: simply erase his fraught relationship from his memories. Convinced it’s the only way he can move forward, David agrees. However, once the process begins and he’s immersed in his memories of Patrick, David realizes that forgetting their relationship is the last thing he wants.

Here is a snippet:

"You’re in a car with a beautiful boy.”

David opens his eyes and he’s in Patrick’s car on the night of his birthday. He remembers so vividly how the moonlight streaming through the windshield caught Patrick’s warm, brown eyes and turned them into caramel.

“You’re in a car with a beautiful boy,” Dream Patrick recites, “and you’re trying not to tell him that you love him, and you’re trying to choke down the feeling, and you’re trembling…”

This isn’t how the memory goes. In reality, Patrick had needled him gently, like always, until David kissed him; he hadn't recited a Richard Siken poem. Still, this is the verse David thought about for days after that first kiss. It touches him far more now than it had when he’d first read Crush in college. Hearing it in Patrick’s voice now, even though it’s just his ghost — a fading memory — is cruel torture.

“But he reaches over and he touches you,” Patrick continues anyway, “like a prayer for which no words exist…”

David blinks tears from his eyes. “And you feel your heart taking root in your body,” he finishes, “like you’ve discovered something you didn’t even have a name for.”

Patrick just smiles that gentle smile of his. “This is the part where you kiss me.”

So, David does. He leans into the memory, placing his hand on the back of Patrick’s neck and kissing him for the first (last) time. It’s not their most passionate kiss, those come later — he’s already re-lived those — but it still might be the best kiss David’s ever experienced. Patrick kisses him softly, like a prayer for which no words exist, like no one before him ever had. It feels like a beginning, and David feels his chest crack open knowing that, tonight, it’s actually the end.

When he pulls away, Patrick smiles like David just changed his life, and, fuck, David wishes he didn’t have to forget this smile. He reaches out and traces his thumb below Patrick’s lips. “Let me keep this,” he whispers — to himself, to the people standing around his bed, to God, he has no idea — “Let me keep this one.”

“Wake up, David,” Patrick whispers back.

He shakes his head. “Will you be there when I do?”

“Only one way to find out.”

“I don’t want this,” he admits. “I don’t want to forget you.”

Dream Patrick kisses his forehead. “Then wake up.”

Dr. Jerome R. Riley (March 17, 1844 - December 31, 1929) From the age of ten he was able to recite long passages in Latin from Virgil’s Aeneid and then translate the sense of the verses. In 1856 he was among the first four graduates of the Buxton Mission School, where he gained a classical education in an integrated setting. He attended the University of Toronto, Ontario’s Knox College, graduating with honors. By 1861, he received his license to practice medicine in Canada West.

He left his practice in Chatham, Ontario, and joined the Union Army as a contract surgeon. He remained in the US after the War, becoming one of the five founders of the Freedmen’s Hospital, the forerunner of Howard University Hospital.

He attended the Chicago Medical College for a year in 1869. He transferred to Howard University in 1870, from which he an MD in Allopathic Medicine in 1873.

He moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, quickly rising to the post of Jefferson County Physician and Acting Coroner. He became an active Democrat and participated in the 1874 Constitutional Convention in Arkansas.

He returned to DC. He married the former Agnes N. Nalle of Virginia (1977-1910). He was hired as a Watchman for the Senate in the Forty-fifth Congress.

In 1891 the DC Democrats elected him as their president. He served two terms as head of the William J. Bryan Colored Democratic Club. In 1899, he formed the National Negro Anti-Expansion, Anti-Imperialist, Anti-Trust, and Anti-Lynching League.

He published The Philosophy of Negro Suffrage (1895). He wrote Evolution or Racial Development (1901) by Reach the Reached Negro (1903).

He and his wife lived in Seattle, Hartford. When his wife died in 1910 he moved to Brooklyn, where he would remain politically active and continue to write and accept speaking engagements until his death. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

A little headcanon/au idea below:

A time skip to like the high school times, and Tony got early admission to college, so (some mathing is happening) Stephen as a senior who just graduated, Tony in his third year of college. Tony and Stephen kind of drifted apart between the time skip. Let’s just imagine Obadiah convincing Howard to change his mind when Maria wants to relax at their winter home and take Tony with her to have fun in the snow away from the grilling from Howard. It’s summer, and Stephen just graduated and he’s on a summer trip with his parents, but they’re letting him explore by himself. They're in New York, and Stephen is wandering around Central Park when he sees a familiar face. Tony recognizes him too but is hesitant because what if it isn’t Stephen? Anyways, Rhodey pushes Tony into calling out for Stephen because he can tell that Tony might have feelings for him. Rhodey walks a few paces away from the two because that’s his brother with someone he doesn’t know, even though Tony knows him. Rhodey is a little overprotective because he’s witnessed many people just using Tony to get some kind of 15 minutes of fame or money. Stephen and Tony end up watching the fireworks that go off at night. That’s also the same night that Rhodey knows the two are meant to be, but the timing isn’t fitting, like it’s not time for them to be a couple yet.

Whether it’s his status, or ruthless arrogance, he’s managed to stay out of handcuffs despite his revolt (as for pleasure, he’s usually the one to slap the cuffs on someone’s wrists).

He isn’t picky but he is experienced, and one would expect his partners would be somewhere on that range too, given the number of names he’s added to the slut walk list in the Arcadia house—but what’s the point of having so much knowledge of you don’t teach it?

Tony grew up feeling very alone. His father spent all his free time chasing after Captain America. When he wasn’t looking for the super soldier, he was talking about him or shooing Tony away for other reasons, and it gave Tony a bit of a complex. He was given his first drink, by Howard, when he was nine. His mother was always cold and distant, and he couldn’t say he knew anything about her until he was a teenager. Aunt Peggy came around sometimes, but Edwin and Ana were the only people he ever really thought of as a parents. The endless boarding schools that took him out of contact with his family didn’t help any of this.

His father gave him the birds and bees talk when he was 12, but he didn’t really get it and Jarvis didn’t explain the ‘mysterious urges’ any better. By the time he hit college, he’d decided that it was better to just pretend—to do what everyone else was doing. And he may have overdone it. A lot. He started dating his childhood friend, Tyberius Stone, when he was about 19, and it took him three years to get out of it. Ty was abusive and petty and isolated him from everyone else. During those three years, he was repeatedly raped and emotionally abused. Rhodey got Ty thrown in jail, but it didn’t last as long as anyone could’ve hoped, and Tony lives in semi-constant fear of him.

When Tony finally found out about asexuality, he came out really quickly and it blew up the news. Articles, supportive and not, were across all the papers and news sites and many people still believe it was some kind of publicity stunt. Tony spends a lot of time hanging out on ace blogs, offering advice and just spreading positivity.

Relationships

Tony likes dating people who can take charge. Knowing that the person he’s with could run the world if the responsibility fell into their laps makes him feel a lot safer and more comfortable. He needs someone who can help manage his shit and keep him in the shape of a functional human being. Anyone he dates also needs to be okay with no sex. Although Tony does have sex, he usually only does it when he’s drunk and craving human contact and can’t see another way to get it. He does not like orgasms and generally finds it easier to avoid sex entirely than to explain that.

He’s definitely okay with BDSM or dom/sub relationships, but after Ty, he doesn’t have the best experience with it, so he needs a lot of aftercare.

Tony also doesn’t have casual friends. He has acquaintances and people he works with and then he has people he’s decided to never let go of. It’s a lot of work being one of the people he clings to and the transition into becoming one of them often involves a lot of testing from Tony, which isn’t pleasant. He will push people away quite a lot before he ever lets them get close. However, if Tony trusts a person, that trust is almost absolute.

SCENE 1 : Repetition Hall's - Will and the Cast

Ringtone - Will hanging a poster to recruit in the Glee Club.

Finn and Quinn followed in chorus by the Cast- Song : Don't Stop Belivin'

In the repetition hall's, Will rehearsed the cast with couple lighthouse Quinn and Finn.

Suddenly, Quinn nausea and leaves.

Will : Quinn, you OK?

Quinn ran out.

Finn : I think she just had a bad breakfast burrito.

Kurt : Can we please talk about the giant elephant in the room?

Santana : Your sexuality?

Kurt : Rachel. We can't do it without her.

Will : That's not true. We may have to layer Santana Mercedes over Quinn's solo, but...we'll be fine.

Artie : Maybe for the invitationals, but not for the sectionals and certainly not the regionals.

Puck : The wheelchair kid's right. That Rachel chick wants me wanna light myself on fire, but she can sing.

Will : Rachel left, guys. She's gone. If we want to make this thing work, we can't look back. Alright, take five minutes.

Will goes to the piano while the Glee Club gathers. Finn, he goes to Will.

Finn : Mr Shue? I don’t want to tell you how to do your job, but with all the dancing around that Quinn's doing, I’m kind of worried about the baby.

Will : Yeah. Yeah, I get it. Um... how about I give Tina a few of her verses, okay?

Finn : Okay.

Will : You think you might want to tell your mom about what's going on?

Finn : I think I'd rather handle it myself right now. My mom's got enough to worry about.

Will is helpless in the situation.

SCENE 2 : Restaurant - Will, Terri and the server

Will and Terri moved to a table, while Terri swallows tons of cakes.

Will : How come you haven’t had any morning sickness? Quinn Fabray has been upchucking every 15 minutes.

Terri : Really? That’s a really good sign. That means the baby's not a Mongoloid.

Will : Well, is it bad that you haven't been sick then?

Terri : Oh, no, honey, no, no. You should ask Howard Bamboo about my Linda Blair impersonations every half hour at work.

Terri smiled at Will worried.

Will : I don't know what I'm gonna do about this whole Rachel thing.

Server approach.

Server : Hey. Would you like anything else?

Terri : Another piece of grasshopper pie.

Server : What, are you going for the record?

Terri : I'm with child.

The server notes the command embarrassed.

Will : Hey, did you go to McKinley High? I think I had you in my Spanish class.

Server : Yeah, like, five years ago. I go to Carmel now.

Will : How is that possible? You must be 22.

Server : (Laughs) ... Twenty-four. I'm a sixth-year senior. They keep failing me so I can stay in Vocal Adrenaline.

Will : They fail you on purpose?

Server : Yeah.

Will : Is that legal?

Server : I'm the only one who can do the triple flip.

Terri : Yeah. Hey, how about that other piece of pie?

Server : How about it.

The server goes in front of shocked Will. Then, Will uses a piece of pie on the plate Terri always thoughtful.

Terri : Honey, are you all right?

Will : ... Yeah. Fine.

Will smiles.

SCENE 3 : Emma office's - Finn, Emma and Will

Finn sat facing Emma tense.

Finn : So... have I done something wrong... or...?

Emma : Oh, no. No, no. Absolutely not. No, um, actually, I've just, um, taken a special interest in you. Look, I know sometimes that life can come at you pretty fast, and, uh, you reach a point where you might just need a little, um, special guidance.

Finn : Has someone told you something about my personal life?

Emma : No. Mm-mm.

[Flash Back]

Moments earlier, Will in the office talking to Emma.

Will : Can you keep a secret?

[Back to reality]

Emma : But, you know, there are very few students that ever get athletic scholarships. Okay? But there are a lot of schools that give full rides to students who excel in music. Students like yourself. And I don't know, maybe if you were able to go to college, you wouldn't, say, end up stuck in this town in a dead-end job living hand- to-mouth with a wife and a kid you never intended to have, you know? For example. That's just something off the top of my head.

Finn : So you think if I stuck with Glee that I could get a scholarship?

Emma : It’s definitely a possibility. You know? And if you did well at regionals, maybe you could, um, generate some interest.

Finn : But we lost Rachel. Do you think we can do it without her?

Emma : Sure.

[Flash Back]

Moments before, Emma and Will talking in the corridors.

Will : Do you think we can win regionals without Rachel?

Emma : Well, remember the Jamaican bobsled team? Big long shots.

Emma went away.

[Back to reality]

Emma smiling face Finn worried.

Emma : ... Definitely. But if you're concerned about your future and, um, those who may be a part of your future soon, um, maybe you could just give Rachel a talk. You know, see if you can get her to come back.

Finn nodding while the school bell rang.

SCENE 4 : Repetition Hall's - Jacob, Rachel, Sandy and Finn

Rachel interview by Jacob for the Gazette's high school at the microphone.

Jacob : How does it feel to be just a sophomore and get the lead in the school musical?

Rachel : It's an honor. Frankly, one I feel I've earned. If there's anything I've learned in my 16 years on the stage, it's that stars are rare, and when they're found, you have to let them shine.

Jacob stop recording.

Jacob : ... Mm. Show me your bra.

Rachel : You mean the one I'm wearing?

Jacob : Quid pro quo, Rachel. If you want a good review, show me your over the shoulder boulder holder.

Rachel : No way. You can't do that. My performance will stand on its own. Besides, no one reads the school paper, anyway.

Jacob : Oh, but I'll post my scathing review online. You'll be finished on the high school stage. Now, get those sweater puppies out of their cashmere cage.

At this time, Sandy enters the room running.

Rachel : It's times like this where I know I've chosen the right path. I'm never going back to Glee. It's clear my talent is too big for an ensemble.

Finn approached her.

Finn : No. You're, like, the most talented person I know. Even more than that guy at the mall who can juggle chain saws. I just wanted to let you know that if you need someone to run lines with, I'm available.

Rachel : Th ....There is a lot of dialogue.

Finn goes off leaving Rachel with a smile.

SCENE 5 : Will office's - Will and Emma

Emma sits opposite to Will with a folder in his hand.

Emma : I could get fired for this.

Will : She was a student 15 years ago. No one is gonna care.

Emma : Okay.

Emma, hesitant, he reluctantly gives the folder. Then, Will, impatient, browse the folder with a smile.

Will : I....I knew it. She never graduated. She....she quit with, like, three credits to go.

Emma : Will. Yeah, I, um, I saw her picture in the folder. Pretty.

Will : Pretty? Mm. April Rhodes was a goddess. The most talented performer in McKinley Glee Club history. When she sang, it was mesmerizing. She was my first crush.I was a freshman,...

Emma : Wait...

Will : ... she was a senior.

Emma : Wait, hold on, 'cause I thought you said your wife was your first crush.

Will : Look, April, I've been, uh, talking to the glee kids, and, um, I think they're still not so sure about having you around. You draw a lot of attention to yourself. And they're embarrassed enough as it is. So do you think you could maybe take some time and try to win them over?

SCENE 9 : Repetition Hall's - April and Kurt

April drinking Kurt .

April : Yeah.

Kurt : Mm, smells like my Aunt Mildred.

April : Just drink it.

April, the boys in the locker room, taking a shower with Puck.

Moments later, in the corridors, she jokes with the whole football team with Puck.

Will she passes, stunned by this change in behavior of Glee Club.

SCENE 14 : Repetition Hall's - Sandy and Rachel

Rachel singing a song to Sandy dissatisfied.

Sandy : This is terrible..... This is a disaster..... I'm gonna barf. ...Boring!.... No, no, no, no, no!

Rachel stops singing.

Rachel : I don't know what you want.

Sandy : Well, I know what I don't want. And it is all of this. When I gave you this part, I thought you could handle it, but clearly you can't. What this show needs is a star with a little bit more maturity.

Rachel : I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to get me to quit, so you can be the star. Well, it won't work. I'm not going anywhere.

Rachel goes to Sandy, stunned.

Sandy : .... I'll say.

SCENE 15 : Repetition Hall's - Finn, Rachel, April and Will

Finn and Rachel repeating the musical by Rachel.

Rachel : I'm sleeping with him.

Finn : So am I... (Surprised, he drops the text.) This play's weird.

Rachel : That's Mr. Ryerson's favorite line. You're a really good actor, Finn. Maybe you should consider joining the musical.

Finn : I'm pretty devoted to Glee. I don't think I could just walk away from it. I know how hard it was for you. But I could justify doing both if you came back. But we both know that's not gonna happen.

Finn approaching her.
