WIP WEDNESDAY

my dearest little eggs, today I have a small snippet of Sweater Weather, which is my @aroyallybigbangrwrb fic this year!!

Childhood friends to long distance fake but not really lovers over letters ;)) just what we need (oh and it’s a college sports au too)

He has spent a great deal of time recently doing just that. Sometimes, like now, when the dying grass waves golden in the August afternoon, and the cicadas hum the soft melody that only comes around every seventeen years, Alex can’t ignore the flip-flop of his stomach and the way the sunshine seems to sit atop Henry’s head like a halo.

“Shut up, man” is all Alex can eek out. It doesn’t matter though, because Henry smiles, shaking his head, walking forward to drag Alex into a hug.

He knows it isn’t a permanent goodbye, but just one for now. He is reminded of Winnie the Pooh and the emotional turmoil of the line “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” He knows Henry would appreciate the sentiment as a sap, but he isn’t about to slice the heart on his sleeve clean off to present it on a platter for intimate dissection.

“No. Do not. I realise this is partially my fault for bringing it up, but I regretted it immediately—do not fucking filibuster me about the porn industry again, Alejandro, I don’t want to hear it.”

25. If you could go back in time to when you first had the idea for this WIP, what would you tell yourself about it?

MJ sweetie baby you are WAY more confident in your ability to smash this out quickly than you deserve. Just write the damn porn.

FIVE THOUSAND ANGUISHED TEXTS AND BIG BROTHER AU PLS OMFG VAL this list is so entirely scrumptious I am screaming

Five Thousand Anguished Texts is seriously one of my favorite WIPs that I have right now. I gave @kiwiana-writes the synopsis to this one here and I fully intend on working on it in the coming days!

I'm immensely excited to work with a new fic format aside from the standard plus the chance to explore more of Pez's voice and his relationship with Henry in this one!

And Big Brother AU has got me SO excited. We're going to have alternating POVs, competition recaps, diary room moments, wild twists, showmances, and so much more! If you ever loved Big Brother and you love FirstPrince, I just feel like this is going to be such a great combo of the two, and I can't wait to write something with @thinkof-england that hopefully all the reality TV fans in this fandom will enjoy.

And thank you, love!! There's so much on the horizon for 2024, for so many of us, and I am THRILLED at what's to come, as both a writer and a reader in the fandom!!

hello, my love 💕 unfortunately i do not have any more to say on the trans!alex smut, so i hope these crumbs are enough for now

the heartstopper speed dating au is actually the first fic i ever wrote. it's called a perfect match, and it's a multichap about nick and charlie's respective best friends signing them up for a speed dating event due to their uneventful love lives. they both reluctantly agree to go, but end up getting paired with less than favorable people (including a crypto bro lol). eventually they get paired together and decide to leave the event together to go get tea at a café, and the rest is history ✨

3/5 chapters are already posted on ao3, but i have not updated since october 2022 due to chronic illness things and burnout. so technically it's been abandoned but i'm holding onto the hope that i'll magically be motivated to write the last 2 chapters sometime in the future, whether that be relatively soon or several years in the future🤞

Alex's eyes are hot as he blinks back tears, Henry's profile blurring and distorting. “Tu me manques, remember? You kept saying that and I kept going ‘Oh, he's so hot when he's speaking French’ like the idiot I am. But I looked it up and it's not just ‘I miss you’, is it? It’s fucking ‘you are absent from me’, like a piece of me belongs to you, a part of you that’s mine. Why would you—why the fuck would you whisper this to me so earnestly every time you think I can’t hear you, and then turn around and pull this shit? Are you embarrassed by us, by me? Is the piece of me you have not enough?” Henry stands in front of him, eyes a little distant and haunted, fingers flexing at his sides. His silence cuts Alex to the fucking core, lances through him and gets him square in his traitorous little heart. A fickle thing, love is. Will he ever be enough for someone? Alex steels himself to say the words he’s been holding back, the words that have been pushing up behind his teeth for months, making his gums ache and jaw tingle.  “I don’t want to be your dirty little secret, Henry. I deserve better. And I think you do, too. You just won’t allow yourself to see that, and it’s killing me.”

Henry’s mouth tightens, pinching in at the corner. “That’s… not why I refused to work with you, Alex.” “Oh yeah? Enlighten me, then.” Henry is silent for a long while, staring at their linked hands. “That mission was one of my first solo operations,” he says when he speaks again, “and I was under an immense amount of pressure from my— from MI6 high command. And I saw you there, a young, brilliant CIA officer at the top of his game, and I thought”—his voice breaks, and he clears his throat, squeezing his eyes shut—“I thought, this is a man who could utterly ruin me. I knew that I had to do whatever was necessary to keep you as far away as possible.” Alex opens his mouth and closes it again, frowning. “What the fuck does that mean? We’re supposed to be allies. Why would I ruin you?” Alex isn’t expecting him to laugh, low and humorless. “Don’t you get it, Alex?” Henry asks, a flicker of fire in his eyes for the first time in hours. “This life we lead… everything is in service to our agencies, our countries. We change identities like clothes, shoving ourselves and our hopes and desires so deep down they’re almost lost entirely. We don’t get to have things for ourselves, don’t even get to want, but I— I wanted.” He closes his eyes and exhales heavily. “Lord help me, I wanted you.”

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! ♥ My last year in my twenties... Pray for me that I won't spotaneously get wrinkles now that 30 is so close?

Anyway, for my birthday, I decided you get cowboy Alex and Henry!

They’re not the only ones who chose an early morning ride, and their group stops frequently when their tour guide points out views and spots they otherwise would have missed by concentrating on keeping their horses in line. It’s clear that Alex has some experience in riding horses as well, because he steers his horse to the side easily and waits until Henry catches up with him, before he turns to send him a boyish grin. “This was a really good idea,” he says, bending forward to pet his horse’s neck. “I haven’t ridden in so long, I forgot how much I love it.” Henry laughs softly, watching Alex squirm happily in his saddle. “How come?” Alex shrugs. “Not much opportunity for it in New York,” he explains. “I grew up in Austin, though. My grandfather used to own a ranch and June and I would go every weekend to help him clean out the stables and lunge the horses.” It isn’t hard to picture a young Alex working himself into a sweat in the stables and out in the fields. Henry hopes they’ll have enough time for Alex to share more childhood memories with him, before he has to leave. He wants to know everything about the man; wants to be able to play out his stories behind closed eyelids when all he has left is the memory of Alex, forever engraved in his mind. “Tell me more?” Henry suggests when their group starts moving again, and Alex does. By the end of the ride, all Henry can do is kiss him, their cowboy hats knocking together.

today i will be sharing the first bit of my (currently untitled) spanish tutor!alex fic because i love my bilingual king!!

“Hey,” Alex approaches him, breathless from the flights of stairs he mounted. “Henry, right?”

Henry turns his head to look up at Alex, slightly startled from his reverie. “Yes, and you’re Alex, I presume?” The roundness of Henry’s vowels immediately rivet Alex’s attention, along with his sharp blue eyes that seem to be looking everywhere else but him.

“Yeah, shit sorry I’m late. Time blindness, am I right?”

“No worries,” he rubs his palms over his jeans and Alex settles down into the seat next to him, setting his bag on the table with an obnoxious thud.

“So,” Alex begins, taking a notebook and a pen from his backpack and then shifting his attention back to Henry, “your application said you're taking spanish101, is that right?” Henry nods his head reticently. “Okay then, let’s start off with what you know and then we can work our way up from there.” Alex gives Henry a lopsided smile.

“Well, my spanish is very… limited, to put it quite frankly.” Henry scratches the back of his neck nervously, a light shade of pink spreading across his cheeks as he looks down at the Spanish textbook in front of him.

“That’s alright.” Alex smiles warmly. “We’ll start off simple, yeah?” He opens up to a random page of his notebook and begins to write down formal greetings in Spanish, along with the translations. Alex can feel Henry’s attentive gaze on him as he does.

“What about the textbook?”

“Oh— screw that thing.”

been seeing a lot of age gap fics lately (which I love) but not many with older alex, sooooooooooo here is that? enjoy!

“Can I, uh, help you with something?” Alex coughs awkwardly into his fist, tapping his fingers on the wood of the bar from the adjacent row of seats. 

Alex has never in his life seen someone so blatant in their appraisal, even after years of being in the media circus. The guy tilts his head thoughtfully, running his eyes from the brim of Alex’s hat down to where his torso disappears behind the bartop.  

“Maybe,” he decides. “What’s your name?” 

A splintered laugh catches in the back of Alex’s throat. “You don’t know who I am?” 

“Should I?” 

Pursing his lips to hide the burgeoning smile, Alex ducks his head down to stare at his half-empty drink as he works out his options here. 

“I’m Alex.” 

“Nice to meet you, Alex,” he says, closing his journal and leaning forward onto it with an elbow. He nods toward his own drink, still mostly full, and back to Alex. “Would you mind ordering me a refill? I’m fresh out.” 

Alex chuckles. “Smooth.” 

“Neat, actually.” 

Hiding his grin in his chest, Alex shakes his head, the barely-there curl of the guy’s lips imprinted behind his eyelids. He really shouldn’t. 

“Should I—?” he gestures to the open seat beside him. 

“Be my guest.” 

He slides off of his own stool and relocates to his spot a bit further down, a knit-covered elbow brushing his own when Alex settles in next to him. The scent of something clean, maybe laundry detergent, floods his senses, and he curls his fingernails into the skin on his palm to keep from reaching out to see if the man’s cheek is as soft as it looks. 

“Do I get to know your name?” 

“Would it be too presumptuous of me to say you could call me whatever you like?” A blonde brow quirks up, his mouth following the same trajectory when Alex huffs a laugh. “It’s Henry.” 

“A pleasure, Henry,” Alex says, offering a hand. 

His fingers are warm, calloused where the pencil had sat moments ago, when he shakes Alex’s hand slowly, holding his eye. “I’m hoping so.”

WIP Wednesday (and Last Line Tag)

Hi! Since the last time I posted I got an awful cold, traveled to visit friends, and toured a law school while I was there. So basically, that's why I haven't participated in the last few games and things BUT THAT CHANGES TODAY. Thanks for the tags below!

Needed a brain break from Daddy Issues, so finally wrote the Leo Chapter from my fic that's Outsiders POV of RWRB (Shades of Bougainvillea if you remember). This is also my last line, so it fulfills that tag too:

With June turning down the campaign job, and Alex still working through his penultimate semester of undergrad, not much changes in the Claremont White House over the course of autumn months. Mostly, everything’s as busy and bustling as it ever is, and Leo does his best to support everyone as best he can. He does, however, take note of a specific trend as he observes his step-children across the breakfast table. Alex has always had his phone attached to his hand, but recently it’s led to fewer impassioned rants about right-wing tweets, and more grins followed by rapid typing. He doesn’t think it’s Nora, either—more than once he’s witnessed this phenomenon occur while Nora’s sitting at Alex’s side, mid-conversation with June. Which means that Alex is talking to someone else other than June and Nora. Leo can’t help but grin into his coffee mug. He likes that someone besides the two of them can draw that smile from Alex; he hopes that maybe he can meet whoever it is one day.

16. What are you most excited about with finishing this WIP?

For it to take a while for people to realise the title got ‘it’s a small world after all’ stuck in their head and then yell at me 😂

WIP Wednesday

This is the final snippet that I'll be sharing from the truth or dare fic because I'm posting it TOMORROW so get excited friends

“Truth or dare, H?” “We’re still playing?” Henry says a bit incredulously. “Answer the question. Please.” Alex’s voice cracks on the last word, and something in Henry’s expression does, too. And then— “Dare.” Yes. “I dare you,” Alex whispers, leaning forward to press his palm to Henry’s cheek, letting the other one fall to his shoulder. Henry’s breath hitches, and he slightly leans into Alex’s touch, eyes going wide before fluttering shut for a moment. “To let me kiss you.” Henry’s eyes open, but only halfway. They flit between the hand on his shoulder and Alex’s face, which he’s certain has gone all syrupy and soft around the edges. Alex hopes that Henry can see the earnestness etched across it. Hopes that Henry can tell that this is real to him and not just a part of some dumb game. And then, Henry jokes, “That seems like cheating, love. Usually, the dare is something that the recipient is meant to do, not the other way around,” and Alex knows that they’re going to be just fine. More than fine, even.

OK-so it's Wednesday and WIPs and all that

ok so i meant to get back to hockey and books 'cuz that's where i wanna be right now but my brain was in a not so creative place until someone broke me out of it last night

so for wirp wednesday i got bits of a new thing that is gonna be part of a series NOT-SO-MUCH ONE NIGHT STANDS (cuz well they don't necessarily stay that way) that i've already got 2 fics going for - one firstprince and one liam/pez cuz well that's apparently really becoming a thing for me

Now, it’s moments like right now, where he’s biting his way across Alex’s thighs, thighs sprinkled with just the right amount of hair, hairy in the way that Henry likes, not just a dusting but actual hair that catches on his tongue as he lavishes the spots he’s sucked bruises into. These moments are the ones that make him so glad he got away from everything else. He can have this anonymous moment with someone so hot he doesn’t want to kick him out the way he has the others eventually. It’s halfway through the morning after, and they’ve yet to get out of bed for more than bathroom trips – one of those with some spectacular moments in the shower – and some quick trips to the kitchen for drinks and some quick snacks when Alex lures him into turning on the tv and watching a movie after round three. They barely make it through the movie when Henry is orgasming for the fourth time that night. Henry is no stranger to multiple orgasms; he’s in his low 20s and knows that brings with it a quicker refractory period. But Alex, the stranger who’s fast working on filling Henry in on every aspect of his life so it no longer feels that way, is doing things for that quick refractory period he’s never experienced before.  Henry doesn’t know how he got so lucky last night when he accompanied Pez and Liam to the club, but he is beyond happy that Liam decided to bring his friend, and that said friend was agreeable to finding his way into Henry’s bed.

here's a snip from a new actor au i have affectionately named chris nolan!alex and cillian murphy!henry fuck around and find out. i spoke about it first here during the wip game. collaborators to friends to lovers to exes to enemies to grudging partners to friends to lovers:

“And the Oscar goes to…Alex Claremont-Diaz for [movie name]!” Alex can’t hear the applause over the heartbeat absolutely pounding in his ears, drowning out the praise. He gets up from his seat in a trance, his eyes finding the only person at this table who matters in this moment.  Henry is looking at him with adoration overflowing in his bottomless blue eyes—Alex can’t get enough of those fucking eyes. They’re Henry’s moneymaker, that’s for certain. Now, they’re Alex’s everything.  He wordlessly gives Henry a hug, feels strong arms wrap around his shoulder and waist. He presses his cheek into the curve of Henry’s neck, scrunching his eyes shut briefly, knowing the cameras are zoomed in on his every expression. He wishes he could tuck this moment safely away from prying eyes, press it in between the pages of the script that brought them together; he wishes he could keep something for himself in this business, keep something sacred. He wishes he was allowed to want things he can’t have without fear of them slipping away. He wishes and he wants.
