being an Indian classical dancer is so beautiful. you’re an actor who enacts and narrates stories with your eyes and limbs.
but you’re also an instrument with your bells that reverberate in the tunes you wish to compose.
you’re a lover and a traitor, a god and a demon. you are stories and places and elements and kings and maids alike.
you live so many lifetimes amidst the taal of a tabla and melodies curated centuries ago to be passed down to your bells on the stage at that time.

Went to MBA Garden after lecture (more like skipping the last one because I got my attendance done before hand)
Worked on my short story collection, currently on Satyabhama. I think the writing part will take some more time. The outline is ready, but I am not satisfied with the depth, so I am being patient and exploring her more.
I am excited to go home lol after 3 days
And I have left studying a little loose, but I am getting my notes done.
And got my dance exam results. I topped with great scores.

राजराजेश्वरी "She who is the Goddess to the King of Kings"
Mahadevi Rajarajeshwari is the chief wife of Maharaja Chitra Varma and the Empress of the Empire. She is the sister of the King of Dwijawanthi. She is the mother of Rajakumari Vasanthakalyani and Rajakumari Vegavahini. Rajakumara Rama Varma is also her son. She got married to Maharaja Chitra Varma, who was the crown prince back then. Rajarajeshwari prefers to spend time by cooking delicacies that are a fusion of different regional varieties. She also is an ardent devotee of Goddess Durga.
"So, Brother you are telling me that you married me off to the King,
is not because I loved him but I was a mere pawn in your game?
Well, since it was your actions that made me the Empress,
let me show you the power that comes with it!"

AHHHH-
I wanted to post this on Shivratri but I forgot
BUT UH
This is a wonderful dance drama on the kalyanam of Parvati and Shiva!
This is, I'm pretty sure the whole thing split into two parts, although the full thing is available to listen if you just search for Girija Kalyanam!
It's a wonderful example of traditional costumes and theatre.
Its sung in Telugu and uses many charming expressions and idioms, which I will translate sooner or later if y'all want it!

Here's the version you can listen to!

Had odissi class and I am learning Sritakamala which is a dance piece from Jayadev's Gita Govinda on Krishna/Vishnu
The Krishna Kalia naag fight will be in the next class and I am kinda excited for it because come on who doesn't love being a hero
Sometimes when I dance to and about these godly pieces, I feel the distance between God and a human decreases. This might not make too much sense but with the number of items and dance performances I do and watch it feels more like being a part of it and imbibing their qualities.
Also Battu requires a mental prayer before doing it especially in front of my teacher.
