Okay, so I see a lot of posts going around comparing these two frames:

Which, yeah, the Father and the Son do look similar, but when I first saw the statues in the finale, I was struck by the remains of the Daughter's sculpture. Because that:

does not look like this:

so I was like, well, maybe the mural is stylized enough that the silhouettes don't match, it's been a long time since I watched the Mortis arc in Clone Wars, maybe the character of the Daughter matches the silhouette better.

Nope. Look at those sleeves! They're way bigger than the ones on the statue! So wait, who does match the silhouette of the statue?

Ahsoka! Especially her live-action redesign!

Combined with the fact that Morai showed up in this episode, I think it's telling that the Father and the Son statues match their animated designs so well while the Daughter statue is so off-base. I mean, c'mon. Look at this.

So what does it all mean?

I have no idea. Maybe it's a callback to the Daughter giving Ahsoka her life force. Maybe Filoni just wants to redesign the Daughter. Maybe it's just Not That Deep™ and the statue design is just sloppy. Or maybe some freaky-deaky Mortis mumbo jumbo is going to happen in season 2. Your guess is as good as mine.

What if justice knew who solas really was from before?

Honestly, it would be very interesting because when you really think of it, Justice and Solas start off in similar places-

Here me out:

They're both strangers to the world of Thedas, both had everything familiar to them had been ripped away, and neither of them truly belong there. But while Justice learns to accept this new reality and the people in it, Solas decides to reject it.

And I think Justice represents something Solas can't accept: change.

Spirits are meant to be immutable, unchanging. But Justice (and Cole) proves that isn't the case.

Justice learned what it was like to be human while he occupied Kristoff's body, he spent time with the Warden Commander and saw the world, he merged with Anders and now sees the world through his eyes--and no matter how much Anders thinks he corrupted him, we meet Justice in the fade and he's perfectly fine. He's not a demon, he's simply adopted another world view. Is he angry? Sure. But why wouldn't he be? Thedas is garbage and Kirkwall is cursed.

Solas, however, would see this change as a negative thing; he would go on and on about how Justice had been twisted against his purpose probably try to draw him out to speak with him directly.

...and Justice would expose him. Justice won't even let Anders lie, there's no way he won't be calling him Fen'Harel when they talk. Plus, Justice would not appreciate the way he's just lying to everyone around him. Justice is blunt, he'd probably just straight up ask:

'Why are you withholding the truth from your companions?' right out loud, right in the middle of the party and everyone else stops to look at them.

Even if he doesn't know his plans, I 100% believe he can sense general vibes. There is no way Solas's vibes aren't weird, so Justice would be suspicious of him.

But I think Justice might challenge Solas' world view more than anyone else because Justice is a spirit who changed, who accepted the world enough to want to fight for it. He has friends, he's felt Kristoff's love for Aura, Anders' love for Karl (and maybe even his love for Hawke.) Justice knows the people around him are real and would hate to see them vanish.

Justice is 100% down for doing whatever it takes to achieve peace, but what about pressing the reset button equates to Justice? There are good people who deserve to live their lives in peace and comfort in Thedas and Solas plans to uproot that for what? Because he personally refuses to see them as 'real people?' That sounds like Templar logic to me!

In the end, Solas could have what Justice has, it's possible for him to find purpose in the world if he would just accept what's right infront of him. But even after making friends and maybe even falling in love, Solas is Solas and is intent on having his way.

Basically...I think they would box.

7. Do they have any unusual fears?

She has an irrational fear that Zacharias will become displeased with her to the extent that after her test is over he'll cut ties with her. This is of course despite the fact that he has announced his intention to keep her by his side afterward, and his almost endless patience with her this far.

She also has a fear of ghosts but at this point it's extremely irrational and there's no such thing as them anyway so why should she have to worry about that-

It's not a big collection at all so far, but ever since she was a kid she wanted to collect postcards from places she went. She's only got a few from places in Reno and some of the parks in Portland, but she hopes to one day fill an album with them from places she's visited.

Nobody tell her how fast postcards are going out of style.

17. How easily would they be convinced to do something that goes against their morals?

Her morality has been changing slowly ever since she came to Portland, and she's come to understand that she has to do things she doesn't fully agree with. On her own she wouldn't but for someone she cares about or for a reason she cares about she's willing to go further than she would regularly.

34. How well do they deal with grief?

In short, she doesn't do well. The period of mourning she was afforded for her own life was rather short, and she never outwardly got to mourn when she learned her only known relative passed on. She did have Zacharias' support when Screech died defending her, but her sire is not known for his compassion so it wasn't much help. Eventually she settled into a routine of just distracting herself from thinking about it, and to everyone else but her's knowledge it works fine. It's only when she's alone that it hurts all over again.

41. Do they learn from their mistakes?

Tammy would like to argue that she does learn from her mistakes, and for the most part she does. However it's very easy for her to fall back into the same kinds of situations that cause those mistakes in the first place, a detail her sire isn't much a fan of. She's certainly grown a lot since coming to Portland, but she's still got a lot of learning to do, and a lot of mistakes to make.

43. Can they handle stressful situations?

Tammy can handle stress up to a certain point. Since becoming a kindred she's had to adjust to constant situations that are outside of her comfort zone, and she's gotten better at handling them. However when it all becomes too much she starts to fall apart as seen with Virgil the night she was attacked by Lucifer. There's only so much this little Ventrue can take before she collapses.

50. What is your favorite thing about them?

My favorite thing about Tammy is her determination. She's absolutely an underdog, a childe who has a mountain of obstacles to overcome because she's far from a traditional Ventrue embrace. Even still she does everything she can to fight against those odds. She doesn't have ambitions, she has dreams instead. Shes not all that smart or independent, instead she uses her connections to others to her advantage. She's stubborn and headstrong to a fault, but is very earnest about everything she does. It's very fun to write for and play such an atypical Ventrue sired by an extremely typical Ventrue.

My unpopular opinion about k is that chitose will have a relationship with dewa cause dewa is the only person who stayed by his side all the way through his break up journey and also despite being close like really close and always together chitose doesn't get bored of their constante company and dewa didn't leave him even when he saw at his lowest and how he became a heartbreaker. So i couldn't imagine chitose fallen for someone else only if he did go to therapy Which i am sure he didn't cause he couldn't t really see that he was in the wrong

Another one is Fujishima and Eric never end up together for one reason is that Eric must been so broken after his traumatic past that if in any case he fall in love it would be not that good for him if something happens in the futur the not near one it will be after a lot of work have been done on him and so i see Fujishima more as his care taker.

so in regards to your chidewa opinion: i don’t think it’s unpopular? like they might not be popular characters, but among the fans who do like or care about them, their ship is pretty popular. I also do agree with you! I think that chitose needs someone like dewa; someone who doesnt take his shit and will call him out, but is still very loyal and sticks with him during the bad times. i do think that this couple will have a hard time getting together at first. i dont think dewa will have a hard time with accepting his sexuality, but i have a strong feeling that chitose will be in denial for the longest because 1. he’s not ready to get involved in another committed relationship after what happened with his ex and 2. he would deny the possibility of being into men for the longest. I can see chitose cutting off dewa for a while and probably give him the cold shoulder as a result of internalized homophobia.

fujieric: also agree! eric had a traumatic past, so its very unrealistic for him to heal overnight. His journey will take weeks, months, and maybe even years. as sweet and soft fuji is, eric is a lot of work (not his fault at all). so as patient as fuji can be, i can see him getting frustrated with eric’s hot and cold behavior; how eric is so closed off even after all their time together. i like to think that eric slightly improves with the help of fuji (and some of the others like totsuka), but once totsuka passes away, eric finds himself withdrawing back into his shell and getting back into his old (bad) habits like when they first met. and that unfortunately dampens his relationship with fuji. i also hc that because of his past, eric becomes hyper sexual. with his body constantly being abused, he finds sex meaningless, and even uses it as a coping mechanism. so much to fuji’s dismay, eric is casually sleeping around with the most random (and wrong) people, even offering to sleep with some of the other members. so it’d be really hard for fuji to get into a relationship with eric, unless he’s willing to have an open relationship (which he’s not). And honestly, even the most patient person has their limits, so i cant blame fuji for cutting it off with eric (or maybe never even initiating a relationship at the first place), just to preserve his own mental health

We’re comin up on two years on testosterone and top surgery number two (a revision) here this month, so of course, I have some reflection. The thing is, my reflection typically comes out in art form, so I wanted to say something about the glitched self portraits I’ve been taking over the past couple of years.

It’s become some sort of weirdly cathartic practice in dealing with the weird process of Puberty 2.0 when you’re in your 30s. Instead of taking “progress” or “before and after” photos, I’ve been more into these warped reality images. That’s not to say I don’t have the photos that everyone says to take so that you can reflect back during those especially dysphoric days and see how much change has actually occurred. And I also have the doctor-mandated top surgery virtual follow-up photos that I loathe. Seriously hated having to take those every time a visit was scheduled. They’re in the hidden folder on my phone.

I just don’t feel like those things capture the experience well. That’s not to claim that my glitchy edits do, but they feel closer to the reality/unreality of moving into an existence that is highly controversial and polarizing. I don’t want my gender to be political, but it is. It’s both personal and public. It’s a very bizarre experience, and all my work over the past year has revolved around turning over this prism of experience and asking how I can convey it to others. The glitch photos are a small view of the bigger work.

I’ve done so much research. Academic, physical, emotional research into this subject. I do have a Patreon that houses the more formal archiving of this work. It’s there so that I can apply for grants and report my findings and get support from other artists and patrons. If you feel led and able to, I very much welcome the support over there. The money from Patreon pays for things like hiring a composer so that I have the rights to my own music, renting filming and training space, hiring costumers, choreographers, filmographers, all sorts of other artists! Art isn’t created in a vacuum or on an island, but damn if it don’t also cost money. The US is, well…y’all know. “Hostile to queer artists” is an understatement.

If you’ll indulge me, here’s an excerpt from my big project proposal that is slowly chugging along. (We have a composer on board and can pay him!) This hasn’t even been shared on Patreon yet! I don’t like the idea of Patreon being a pay-wall gate that queer people can’t access, so I will always make an effort within my ability to share things as publicly as possible.

Put simply, QUIET is two parts photography and one part performance, using my own trans body and chains to reflect on my queer lived experience and construction of identity.

The work that I propose here is a three-pronged project revolving around the multitudes I find to be true within my own body: “the conditioned body, the spiritual body, and the body I am destined to be.” (Jose Richard Aviles) I’m ultimately seeking to capture the essence of being all of these things at once, in one body, while also showcasing the nuance of the perceived body imposed upon mine. In this investigation, I hope to achieve the comparison of a fractured experience in its distinct parts with the wholeness of being greater than the sum of my parts.

I want to highlight the importance of noticing this juxtaposition for marginalized bodies and how the pieces that were not selected by us still inform the position we take in places in society, while also being present in a stream of collective pieces coming and going and becoming greater than our, or anyone else’s, present understanding. I want to create imagery that not only acknowledges the powerful self-analysis challenges that multiply-marginalized folks are faced with when those positional identities are held against the spirituality of our whole selves, but also imagery that is rich with a sense of wholeness and love for ourselves.

This piece is informed by my ongoing examination of the concept of the fallacy of stability: that change is the only constant in our lives, despite the capitalistic prescription for being frozen in time at the height of our efficiency. I hope to present viewers a more nuanced sense of understanding of where queer marginalized bodies exist in both a larger context of Western late-stage capitalism and heteronormative patriarchy, and also for my viewers who share my intersections of marginalization: some sense of hope and joy in seeing themselves and their lived experience represented.

Overall, viewers from any background should be held by a sense of yearning and longing, and most of all, quiet.
