Undoubtedly, April 24th has become a day to remain vigilant and stay safe. However, for 109 years now, it has been much more than that.
April 24th is Armenian Genocide remembrance day.
This year marks 109 years since it began. 109 years of denial, 109 years of hearing, "It didn't happen, but they deserved it."
The only crime of the Armenian people is existing.
Today, we honor and remember the victims of this terrorism that is still widely unrecognized and denied. Can you imagine if this is how the Holocaust was treated?
It is a day for us to also stay vigilant as the amount of hate crimes rise this day, as sickening as that is, because Turkish and Azeri hate knowns no end. Because they teach their young that we're subhuman and gleefully laugh at any harm that befalls us, especially from their own hands. Even to this day, they believe we're better off dead.
Simply look at happened to Anush Apetyan, though be wary because it was horrifying. That should make clear the difference between the Armenian people and these genocidal Turkic nations.
Even in media, on any video regarding anything about Armenia, even if it's simply sharing an Armenian recipe, Turks and Azeris invade the space, calling on Armenian suffering, death, and bragging about their successful attempts of genocide and colonizing.
Two nations full of hate, fueled by rewritten history, propaganda, and nationalism. So much so that they literally spam Armenian spaces. Everywhere. All the time.
Kind of crazy from people who "didn't do it", hm?
If you stand for and are very vocal about Palestinians, you can be just as loud for Armenians.

im against the death penalty because the state should not be allowed to execute anyone BUT i think convicted rapist or molester should be legal to murder once they get out of prison as long as its in a humane way. doesnt mean anyone is going to do it! just like nobody can know if they will reoffend, right. and if they dont want to take that risk - as society is taking a risk by granting them freedom - they can remain in prison voluntarily, forever

On May 19 Sgt. Michael Kunovich deemed him suspicious while outside the Super 8 motel parking lot. Aguilar Mendez was sitting down eating but started to walk away when the officer approached in his patrol vehicle. Kunovich began to question him, but Aguilar Mendez couldn't understand him or communicate well and repeated that he was sorry. That's when Kunovich decided to search him, and Aguilar Mendez resisted. Two other deputies arrived to assist in taking the 5-foot-4, 115-pound teen to the ground as Kunovich repeatedly stunned him with his taser, all seen on body-worn camera video. Aguilar Mendez can be heard screaming for his family and is seen trying to gain control of the taser as the officers note in the video. Toward the end of the 6-minute scuffle, the deputies saw that their handcuffed suspect had a small folding knife and disarmed him. Kunovich collapsed a short time later in medical distress and died at the hospital, the Sheriff's Office said. Aguilar Mendez, who came here from Guatemala, was staying with other farmworkers at the hotel. He is being detained without bail, which is the subject of another hearing as yet to be decided. (source)
I'm going to need you all to start spreading awareness about this case and sign the petition. I'm a 5'4 woman and I weigh more than him. He's only 18, indigenous and doesn't understand English nor Spanish really. I can't imagine how confused and scared he was. Tased 6 times and apologizing repeatedly and calling out for his family... he is not responsible for the police officer's death. The fact he's been held for 8 months without bail is disgusting.
Virgilio looks so small, sad and defeated in all of the images I've seen of him.

Ok but like actually DNI if you support the death penalty. Yes there are people who deserve to die for their crimes. No there isn’t a court in existence that should be given the power to decide who those people are

Rather proud of the post I made for JVP Boston for Holocaust Remembrance Day!
Antizionist Jewish Shoah survivors have always been some of my heroes.
And every one of them has been attacked and discredited by Zionists.

A reminder about Palestine:
Tumblr media
Firstly, the existence of the country of Palestine was never in question. And secondly, as per the UK's own words in the oft-referred to "foundational" "Balfour Declaration":
"NOTHING SHALL BE DONE WHICH MAY PREJUDICE THE CIVIL AND RELIGIOUS RIGHTS OF EXISTING NON-JEWISH COMMUNITIES IN PALESTINE."
Plain as day.

Okay Tumblr, I've had enough.
I was just scrolling the Nex Benedict tag when I stumbled upon a porn bot. In a tag that really means a lot to a very vulnerable community. Shamelessly. Tagged with not just their name, but a variety of LGBTQ+ tags as well.
Tumblr, we don't want you to remove trans folks for showing the progress of thier bodies.
Tumblr, we don't want you to ban accounts for speaking up about fair treatment.
Tumblr, we don't want you to flag posts on topics that are important to us.
What we want, Tumblr, nay, what we need is for you to stop this from happening. This right here triggers a lot of people and seems very disrespectful to the situation at hand. We need you to start looking into the accounts that unhealthily fetishize our sexualities. We need you to ban the blogs that target trans people just to body shame them. We need you to remove the (bot) posts that invade LGBTQ safe spaces because those tags are trending. We need you to stop destroying the community, and start protecting it.
Tumblr, wake up!
