#life is so bad lately i feel like i’ve tried absolutely everything and things never improve they just get worse somehow #it’s like i think things can’t get any worse and then somehow they do #and they do so even as i’m putting in so much effort to try and improve the already bad things #🧍‍♂️ i just ?? what do i do now ?? when i’ve tried everything ?? #like i’m being soooo genuinely when i say tht dying feels like the only thing left but like. i don’t even WANT to die. it just feels like #the only road left to take 🧍‍♂️ and ik that’s fucked up but honestly there is nothing left for me lol 🧍‍♂️ #and to make things worse i actually think that the few ppl i have in my life r becoming just as sick of me as i am of myself #which rly scares me bc the only reason i have to stay alive is the ppl in my life and my pets that is it #but i just can’t fake it like i used to like i used to be soooo good at hiding things #but now things have gotten so bad that i can’t hide them bc they are actively ruining my life and making me do things or not do things that #other ppl can see #so even though i tell ppl i’m fine they just don’t believe it and like yeah fairs bc it’s very obvious i’m not #it’s also incredibly embarrassing like i’m 25 this month and i live at home and all my irl friends have moved away and got big girl jobs and #are doing things with their lives so i haven’t even seen a single friend in months and months like i think the last time i saw a friend was #halloween… halloween!!!!! aka october last year!!!!! #and i only work one day a week bc i left my old proper job bc i thought i was going to kill myself and kept taking more and more time off #so i’m very poor and i’m very much in debt and i can’t pay it off bc i spend so much money self medicating bc i’m convinced there’s somethin #seriously seriously wrong with my body and i’m always in pain or extreme nausea but the doctors have ignored me so many times and just shut #me down or made me feel stupid or said everything looks fine when i know it isn’t #and i’m also 99% convinced i’ve got quite severe autism and the doctor basically confirmed it lol but she said that on the nhs the current #waiting list is about 4-5 years so i may as well turn to the internet and do research myself since even if u get an official diagnosis #there’s no meds or real cure for it other than learning how to cope #except im also convinced that with the autism i have a lot of strong adhd traits so like. i know it’s bad but i buy adhd meds online and i #don’t even abuse them i take them to literally help me like they’re meant to but bc it’s obvs not allowed it’s so expensive #and i already have no fuckingn money so every single month is hell bc i’m either rationing them to make them last longer #OR i’m taking them but with the knowledge that it means i’ll run out sooner and have more days with NONE #and every day is just full of immense guilt too for doing this bc it’s not technically allowed and i should be doing better things with what #i do pay my mum some money each month towards housekeeping/bills/etc but it isn’t much at all and i know she deserves more #also i either sleep 0 hours a night or 20 there’s no balance and it’s fucking ridiculous i’ve tried EVERYTHING to no avail #i

After sometime, Riki opened his mouth. “I know I already asked this earlier, but why did you come here? You know, to stargaze.” As if he wasn’t satisfied with her answer.

He was right in thinking that her answer wasn’t what she truly wanted to say, but it just felt awkward to give an exact reason. Her relationship with her mom was something she could barely tell her only 3 friends about, let alone someone she barely considered an acquaintance.

But Y/N knew Riki was a reliable guy; she had heard it often from Soul, Rei, and Giselle. And maybe for once she would let herself put faith into another person.

“I’ll only tell if you tell me why you like stargazing.”

Riki blew out a breath in thought. “Hm… I don’t know if I can give an exact reason for that. I was just bored one day and ended up coming across this place. That’s what made me stargaze, but something about it just felt so comforting to me that I wanted to do it more often.” He answered, a soft smile gracing his lips. “But that’s not exactly a good reason.”

“I think it suits you.” Y/N whispered out. “I’m sure you have your own stresses with being the son of Alice in Wonderland. It would make sense that having a hobby like this to come back to is something you enjoy.”

He pondered on it for a moment. Maybe she was right. He then chuckled at this side of her he had never seen before. “You’re a lot more poetic than you let on. Anyways I answered your question, can you answer mine?”

Y/N considered answering it, she truly did, but as much as she wanted to open up there was the side of her that wanted to keep everything inside. Her mother had always told her that vocalizing your feelings does nothing good and only makes people pity you.

One thing Y/N despised was being pitied. It only reminded her of how her mother referred to her as a ‘pitiful girl’ and how she would amount to nothing.

So she slowly shook her head. “No, I don’t think I can.”

Riki felt himself beginning to sit up to look at the girl. There was something off about her. The way she spoke to him and the way that she carried herself… she wasn’t acting as she always had. Normal Y/N would be more playful and even mischievous. But now, there was a certain sadness in her entire being that seemed to be throwing her off her rhythm. And it only made Riki more and more curious about her.

“Okay, I get it. You don’t have to tell me.” Riki smiled, before continuing. “I just hope it doesn’t take away your chaotic spirit. You know, I kind of like that about you.”

A sigh left Y/N’s lips at his words. “You don’t mean that, Wonderland.”

“I mean every word, Cheshire.”

Y/N could only roll her eyes before slowly evaporating into the night, using her invisibility and teleportation to finally go back home.

Left lingering in the air was her Cheshire’s smile, which disappeared last and left Riki staring at the wisps of where she had sat only moments prior.

Maybe it made sense that Riki enjoyed stargazing. In a way, there was something about him that was made of the stars. No matter what he did, he always seemed to shine brighter than all the others. There was something about Riki that felt that he belonged up in the sky, giving life to the night and adding a certain glimmer to the auras.

Riki had his own place amongst the sky, and she wished she could be like that too. But after speaking to him, maybe there was nowhere she could have her own place in. Y/N could only wait for the day that she could contribute to a bigger picture, and take a larger part in his story. After all, she had always wanted her own place within the stars.

But for now, all she could do was hope she would become more than just the Cheshire Cat’s daughter.

ok so i love pebbles V dearly.character i heavily sympathize w, frankly one of my only favorites who actually expresses regret over doing bad things.that being said.hes.hes a giant computer im only letting him in here bc the iterator puppets border on being robots, n i think the way theyre used is cool! its a rly neat way of making iterators able to communicate w the player n the way theyre kinda puppeteered around by that giant arm is rly cool.but again barely counts.thin ice buddy.if anything moons a bit cooler bc she lost most of the computer part yeah actually pretend shes in the title of the entry too my girl deserves it.she put up w sm.

ik ik i just bought her up i have her in my icon i kin her this is a safe blog for painfully biased ppl.but the reason cyn of all the drones wins number one spot for me is bc of how she moves n talks ! being a zombie drone she doesnt seem to function properly, shes constantly fixing her head from falling over n walking around a bit cowered n generally seems her movements dont flow naturally, she announces her actions while doing them (likely bc of some error from the zombie thing just making her naturally do that) n fully borrows her voice from the absolute solver (likely bc of some issue w her own) n generally the fact shes a robot that accidentally rebooted after being discarded n is clearly not running as intended is rly visible n i love it !!! i love robot characters whose roboticism is extremely relevant to their whole character instead of just being a quirky design thing.n ofc this all also resembles how puppets move which is such a fun double meaning thing to how shes the absolute solvers first host

they were kind of struggling in ireland as it was anyway bc their village was a rather traditional one n income was sparse bc of local prejudices n when things reached a boiling point w aoife's father her grandma stepped in to her mum n was like girl we're outta here.

aoife's two aunties migrated w them to this absolutely ramshackle old creaky farmhouse in prospect hill bc the girlies stick together that they bought fr a pittance bc it was kind of falling apart n all of the big apple trees surrounding it were semi rotten bt they all agreed it ws their fresh start. she has no contact w her father whatsoever to this day bt it's cool <3 they started making apple jam out of the rotten apples bc the bruised fruit makes the sweetest jam n this is kind of symbolic of aoife's positive mindset in life.

aoife's mama remarried a vry sweet introspective repairer of watches who ws strangely also irish n he surprisingly fit right in w the sisterhood they'd created

ANYWAY that's for family bg. as far as abilities go aoife's grandma has always had contact w the other side. it's strange too bc when they were fleeing ireland their grandma jst randomly had this pull towards marina as The Place To Go n it's almost like she cld sense the spn forces there within her. aoife's always had a very visceral attachment to her surroundings growing up bc like she'll. befriend different ghosts in different places n settings r like richly embroidered tapestries she can't help etching her fingers along to appreciate their craftsmanship. aoife believes people n their stories make the world go round <3

being a medium she hs a little oracle business of sorts in a side room of their big farmhouse n has a few sweet regulars who she regularly helps communicate w their passed loved ones. she's a bit too sweet tho n sometimes jst won't charge them bc she feels too mean charging to help them w their grief n some of them r hard for money so she doesn't feel it's right even tho it's like girl u need the income.... bt it's fine.

her grandma is vry powerful bt very controlled whereas aoife gets a bit too attached n is probably more at risk for possessions n such bc she's kind of easily manipulated if she feels for the tall tales a ghost is spinning. speaking of which there's a ghost tht kind of has a crush on her tht lingers in the farmhouse frm time to time n "accidentally" knocks a book off the shelf whenever it sniffs someone hving a crush on her in the air. aoife's like sheldon ur so silly not again!!!!

she's vry goofy. does big ungraceful giddy toothy witch cackles like bunny kicking her feet n everything then gets shy n bashful right after. loves fantasy, intricately engraved swords n the idea of having a pet baby dragon who's always sneezing n accidentally singeing the ends of her hair (bt she'd nvr get mad at them bc it's just so cute). she's constantly embroidering items or crafting a strange little something out of scrap material she finds n regularly has clumsily pinpricked fingers as a result. sometimes she collects twigs to help build birds nests bc she's like they're so little they must be so tired doing it all by themselves!!!!!

hs a HUGE albino rabbit named bo tht seems strangely immortal bt noone ever questions it. carries him around in her arms like a beloved handbag, close confidant n surrogate father all in one. he acts all sweet n soft w aoife then when her backs turned is the antichrist to anyone tht gets near her. it's true love <3

she's vry friendly n open bt romantically she's quite a closed book bc she's never rly witnessed a good demonstration of it.

OH MY GOD everyone in the zones is trans <33 i don't make the rules (yes i do)

i feel like w physically transitioning there's a lot of different options in the zones but it just depends. im sure BLi makes hrt medications w/o trans intentions so the killjoys absolutely get their hands on that as well. it can be a bit of a mess for any 'joy on hrt bc it can vary how much of a steady supply they would have, but they make do. surgeries are probably more out of the question just bc of skill needed and also the dangers of being a killjoy while recovering from a surgery, even if u can find a good surgeon. but i think it could happen feasibly, just super uncommon.

i think one of the biggest aspects of trans-ness in the zones is clothing!! it's a huge form of expression and killjoys will make their own unique clothing all the time!! it's commonplace for crewmates to make one another cool clothes and accessories including trans things.

trans dude! (he/him, but neutral pronouns are alright w his crew and anyone who doesn't know his pronouns)

he's on t intermittently, and can grow a very patchy little mustache <3 (ghoul teases him for it but that's just cause xe's jealous)

mainly dresses pretty masc, but also adores rly short dresses. bonus points if he's got a cape/cloak to go w it

will steal the others' nail polish for Gender reasons and then blame ghoul for it (you'd think party and jet would learn, but you'd be surprised how quick they are to blame ghoul)

NOW. for ghouls sibling.......

ghouls sibling is called raven and they grew up together in the more run-down part of Batt City. they r literally the sweetest person alive oh my god they would die for ghoul (foreshadowing (but not rly))

they named themself after their mom, an ex-killjoy who got caught and re-introduced back into Batt City, told them abt the incredible flocks of ravens that would gather out in the zones. she told them all sorts of stories abt her times in the desert but they latched onto the ones abt the ravens. they were said to help carry souls of dead joys, gathering at joshua trees designated as memorials and carrying off the trinkets left behind in honor of the dead. it was believed that once the ravens took something held dearly by the person who had died, then their soul would pass on. (this is also how the tradition of having brightly colored masks and beads came into play. the ravens tended to favor the brighter items, so it became an interesting sort of way of both showing your soul's bright colors and also enticing those who would carry you off to the afterlife)

so raven chose their name based on those stories, sticking with it even after their mom was taken by BLi and replaced by a droid. ghoul was basically raised by raven and, up until ghouls capture when xe was 10, they were inseparable.

ghoul tried to erase all memory of raven while he worked in BLi, just abt everything short of actually getting her memory wiped. they burnt all raven's books, changed his name, and began to loathe the family she had before. but despite all the BLi lessons telling xem otherwise, she still held onto an old knife that raven and him had both engraved the sides of together. the one last remainder of raven and of ghoul, sitting underneath the matress where angel sleeps (angel is ghouls new name btw, ik that's not super clear).

but yeah :))) im gonna pretend nothing bad ever happens to raven and end this ramble here bc. spoilers and also sad.

WAAAA TY im so sorry i been forgetting to reply to this.. umm!! i think about them Every Day and I think I'm gonna start up an askblog soon maybe BUUUT um I can talk abt all but vexx’s backstories bc they're all gonna b explained in the first like 3 posts of that anyway so it works out so!! firstly we got Terra!! yes ik the name is cliche but i made her when i was 10 and then 6 years later adapted her to who she is now so. umm yea shes a swordswoman, strong as hell, GAY as hell, cares way too much about her town and her friends. n like shes the aggressively loving type? shes like. shes like that “I LOVE YOU DOG” vine idk how to describe it but u know what i mean. shes also rly tenacious n persistant n all that which is usually a good thing but also it kinda led to umm sacrificing a bunch of guides trying to get this One thing from the WoF like we do n then realized holy fuck. what have i done. fell into a depression n stopped all progress for like almost a year early hardmode. eventually tho w the help of the other townsfolk and also vivian who ill talk abt next?! she got back to it!! and crushed it!!! next is VIVIAN shes terra’s gf, uses like knives n bows n those kinda ranged melee weapons like vampire knives. v sweet n motherly. big mom energy. mom shes the only one out of the group with any fuckign Braincells n most of her adventuring happens when she has to get them out of trouble. other than that the whole Terrarian hero adventuring life doesn’t really come to her like it does to, say, terra, so she mostly stays at home and in the town looking over the town when everyone else is out. she had her own world she was the hero of and was doing p well until early hardmode, where corruption spread a LOT n she couldnt control it and eventually it took over the town and got so bad she just had to call it quits and jump over to terra’s world where they um ym um fell in love :] next is MATTIE!!! oh he is just a littol baby he isnt here to hurt anybody he just loves everyone and everything unconditionally. ohh he just love. he’s an ex lunar cultist who was killed by the leader, revived as a terrar hero, fell in love with his guide, had an assassin sent after him after the lunatic cultist found out he was still alive and freaked TF out, the assassin went “nah fuck this im on his side now” they teamed up and killed the lunatic cultist and then had a confrontation w mr. moon god and Saved The World B) yea he’s rly sweet n just loves everyone a whole Lot but can fight too!! then theres pixie who technichally isnt a terrar hero like the last 3, he’s that assassin loony sent on mattie and then went “actually... no ❤” but he’s still important and means the world to me :) big STRONG fuckin guy from texas?? terraria equivalent of texas. cold exterior and doesn’t normally like to open himself up but theres like a few ways u can get him to start opening up. hes got dad energy, dumb ol himbo, he COOKS RLY WELL?! n basically yea he helped mattie out during hardmode n trained him to fight better n was his emotional support but mattie was also his emotional support!! n he got him to open up and Show Ppl He Loves Them Again. god i love him he gives me gender envy

Oooh okay first of all dare me as a DA… I’ve only watched the show but like yeah I see the Elements for sure.

Also yeah I can understand what you mean abt Oliver being an unreliable narrator now… Ig my view of unreliable was more like they are purposefully twisting the truth or omitting facts or just literally don’t know shit but I get how personal bias can make the narrator unreliable. I do think the assertion that Oliver thinks his friends are different than they actually are makes sense. He sees James in a very positive light and though I like James a lot and think he is better than, like, Richard, he definitely has darker moments and manipulates Oliver at times (again I’d like to think it’s not the most nefarious thing in the world but like him just being shitty bc he’s in a dark place and he one, wants to do anything he can so Oliver doesn’t figure out he fought Richard so Oliver still thinks of him the same way/bc he knows Oliver would do something stupid like get himself arrested for James; and two, is very jealous that Oliver is with Meredith after Richard dies and has sort of a somewhat positive outcome from Richard’s death versus James being riddled with guilt and anger). And yeah, the probable ending is they never meet but I refuse to acknowledge that so LGNRG. Also that line makes me go CRAZZZZZZZZZZY!!! There are so many great lines, both using Shakespeare and on their own and its like okay give me a moment im going bonkers…

Personally, I haven’t read that many dark academia novels yet (bc for some reason i can barely finish a book rn sigh) but the concept interests me. I think what’s compelling is the setting/atmosphere of like ~mysterious college vibes~, and the idea of a sort of niche, obsessive bond and pursuit of knowledge with a tight knit group of friends (and the like inherent homoeroticism in every single DA elrngenrg). Like Dead Poet’s Society (the film I haven’t read the book) isn’t Dark in the same way most other dark academia is by like, obsession and death and manipulation (though of course there are dark elements with Neil’s storyline), but I think the other building blocks of academia are present there in a more wholesome way and you can see why people are drawn to that idea. As for the more Dark aspects I think it’s interesting to analyze things like group psyche, obsession, manipulation, etc, like what went wrong for everything to take such a dark turn???

 But, like everything else, it really has to be done well or else its just like okay….… I’ve tried to read TSH twice and I may try again but from the 100+ ish pages I read I totally get what you mean. IWWV is so interesting to me bc the characters are all very compelling and multifaceted and I like that they are a close friendship, we come in after 4 years of them spending all the time together and to me that is apparent. Like you said, we can see fissures and problems especially as the novel continues but there is care there between them. That also makes the decision to let Richard die much more interesting and sinister imo, as well as how all of them interact with each other after he dies, and how the roles of the group change without their “leader” so to speak. Also, maybe it’s just bc I like Shakespeare, but I think the academia part of IWWV is so much more accessible compared to TSH. Like I don’t know every Shakespeare play or anything so I didn’t understand every nuance or was like immediately like oh this is from Cymbeline or whatever the fuck, but you could understand the gist of things and it made sense that they spoke in Shakespeare lines bc that’s all they’ve been doing for four years and also theatre kids are Like That. Their pretention also provided any Layers to the story, like the parallels between the characters they play and their own arcs, how some of the lines echoed their own thots, foreshadowed, or they were able to say things through Shakespeare (I’m thinking of like, Oliver realized he loved James during Romeo and Juliet, the foreshadowing that James was going to ruin Richard’s life and that he dislikes Meredith/Richard when he quotes Mercutio at the start “A plague o’ both your houses”, the exchange Oliver and James had onstage and had that kiss during King Lear before Oliver was arrested,etc.) (Also I think the structure of some of the dialogue being formatted like a play really helped make it feel more realistic and immersive). Versus TSH which is just so pedantic and dense and hard to follow at times im like I get they are smart but what??? And maybe that’s part of the satire aspect (or maybe im dumb) but like donna I read TGF I know you are pretentious and info dump abt random obscure shit anyways so erglknerg. Like to me there was a Point to all of the academic Shakespeare stuff in IWWV and it was the soul of the book, and M.L. Rio made it very interesting—like the way that the directors reimagined the plays and had Julius Caesar be like a modern political play, the cool mirror shit in King Lear, the Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet performances where they did them at events and interacted with their environments (which were one of my favorite parts of the books bc I just think that concept is so interesting), etc. For TSH the shit they did literally just felt like “okay look at them they’re smart see you can’t even keep up!” like okay… I felt lost a lot and only like snapped into reality whenever Henry (?) was like oh… murder….. and even then I was like idk what this dude is saying but like he’s being darksided LMAO. And I also agree that it’s just like… Richard being thrown in the middle of this group could lend itself to some cool ideas but its hard to believe that he fits into the friendship group and hes just like hell yeah I love Greek so much and lets go kill this guy other than like okay ur gay and stupid and just want to impress Henry or whatever his name was (which he was but I digress). It’s just not as impactful to me as this close friend group falling apart. Ik TSH fans might be angry if they see this (and of course I haven’t finished the book so my perception may be warped but I also kno many ppl felt that way u did) bc I’ve seen ppl say IWWV is just like TSH but “lackluster” or whatever and while I can see some parallels (mostly b/w Richard and Henry and Alexander and Francis), I really think M.L. Rio expanded upon common DA tropes and the interesting parts of TSH but made it her own and interesting and oh yeah there are actually multiple compelling female characters and LGBT characters (and no incest)!!!

ok so. im taking this idea from @mika-milano bc their post was very well written, entertaining, and just a rly good idea. so check their post out!:) and thank u for the idea!

and now. a disclaimer.

so im 19 now. i started watching fairy tail when i was 14. this show has been very near and dear to me for a long time. it was one of the first anime i ever watched, and it has my favorite all time ship (gruvia ofc). also i would kind of be lying if i said that most of the reason i still keep up with the manga and show wasnt bc of gruvia. bc it is lol. but. it DEFINITELY has its flaws. and here r some of my opinions on them.

1. so much doesnt make sense

ok listen lol. i think we can all say that its kind of obvious when mashima hasnt thought things through or just pulls things out of his ass out of nowhere. i dont wanna go too in detail about this because if im being honest, there is a lot that i just flat out don't remember. what i can remember is that as the story continued to go on, things seemed to make less and less sense.

2. the best arc is the tower of heaven arc

wow ok. i cant really tell u why i love this arc so much. but i do. im not even a jerza or erza stan (i love them both, but like not my fav pairing or character by any means). but idk. something about this arc was so intriguing, intense, emotional, and just enjoyable to watch. seeing the depths of erza's background and her relationship with her past, jellal, natsu, and the rest of the guild was just amazing. idk why this arc sticks out so much to me, but it really does.

3. lisanna shouldve stayed dead

now this one isnt even bc i hate lisanna or anything. i like lisanna! i even like nali! (not as much as nalu but still). her death had such a great impact on her siblings, natsu, and the rest of the guild and watching them all have to grow past it was incredible (especially for mira and elfman!). and then they just brought her back. not only did they bring her back, but they brought her back for NO REASON! she just became another side character! when she came back to life she had no further impact on ANYTHING! and it made the whole "natsu's childhood love/bestfriend" thing seem so much less important and way more fake.

4. more ppl jus shouldve died overall

with this one im mostly just talking about makarov. but still. waaaay too much death bating. like they died and then magically came back to life. too much of it. felt like nothing was ever really at stake. im saying this but like if juvia had actually stayed dead i would have thrown a FIT lol

5. i wanted more of cana and gildarts

thats it. all i really have to say ab this one. they r cute and i wanted to see more<3

6. juvia is underrated

ok now i am SUPER fucking biased lmao. bc juvia is the BEST character in fairy tail imo. but like come on! she's beautiful, loving, smart, sweet, powerful, funny, badass! shes perfect! and shes waaaay stronger than everyone thinks she is smh. clearly she is the best choice to stan.

7. lucy is overrated

ok look. i like lucy! kind of! idk man shes smart and nice and cute but like. not as powerful as everyone thinks. she's definitely one of the most developed in terms of her strength FOR SURE but still. not very strong. and her character just aint for me:/ sorry!

8. levy should be a lot stronger than she's portrayed

it seems like for some reason since shes small that also means shes weak, but like, that just aint it. solid script magic should be really sick and she should kick ass way more than she does especially for how smart she is but no. mashima always makes her the helpless one:/ rly sad bc i like levy a lot and ik she could be way more badass.

9. the only ship that i rly just flat out hate is gr*ylu.

like nali? i like them! nerza? fine! grayza? also dont like and are second to gr*ylu but i mean i dont have a fiery hatred! lyvia? cool! gratsu? sure! all of them i can get behind in some way ahape or form but i just HATE gr*ylu. idk why i hate them so much but i just really do lol.

10. fairy tail's old animation was way better

while i do think every character got like way more attractive with the new animation, the rest is just bad. not nearly as pretty, crisp, consistent, or colorful. its just blah. sorry sis thats the tea.

the first character i ever fell in love with:i legit cannot remember, it honestly has been way too long since i first played me1!! i think it might have been tali? at least i’m pretty sure she was the one character i didn’t swap out once for someone else in the team config during my first playthru even when it was combat inconvenient lql

a character i used to love/like, but now do not:i honestly can’t think of anyone? i used to really desperately try to make myself like ashley but lately i’ve just accepted that i have always disliked her and never ever will find anything about her redeeming enough to make up for all the things i hate lol.

a ship i used to love/like, but now do not:when i first played mass effect 2 i actually thought joker and EDI were adorable and really loved the development of their relationship over the game. i was very excited for what me3 might hold for them and uh…. the actual content left me VERY cold lol. i think it’s a shame that their relationship was reduced to “lol hot robot bod” and all the actual development of EDI as a person and sentient being was completely concentrated on shepard alone. that was such a huge missed opportunity.

my ultimate favourite character:m o r d i n!! i love him so much and i have cried so many tears over just how much i love him so many times. he has the hands down BEST arc over the course of the games to me– i adore so much how he changes from someone who’s so remote and concerned with only the macro level of things to someone who learns to actually connect to people as more than just numbers or data. his self sacrifice is the most meaningful to me and i’m the proudest of his development.

prettiest character:samara, boob armor not withstanding lol. jack’s me3 design is gorgeous as well.

my most hated character:it’d be easy to give a p expected answer to this (kai leng or another easily hateable villain) but i think if i had to concentrate solely on characters on the normandy it’d probably honestly be james vega lol. i h a t e d that he was mandatory in me3 and usually avoid interacting with him. he’s the exact stereotype of male gamer self insert character i loathe and he was so discongruent compared to the rest of the team. also his interactions with f!shep made my skin crawl. h8 how you were forced into the dichotomy of ~ooOOOoo flirty~ or “i’m gonna be a huge dick to you for no reason”. just. delete him.

my OTP:f!shep/tali is REAL and i will DIE mad about bioware cutting it from the game!!! ESPECIALLY because they left the lead-up to the romance in and just cut the actual consummation!! i’m still just always crying overa) “you deserve better.” - “i got better shepard. i got you.”b) tali looking out over rannoch and saying “it’s beautiful” and f!shep NEVER EVER LOOKING AWAY FROM HER THE ENTIRE TIME and saying “yes it is” a HATECRIME tbqh fuck you bioware

favourite game and mission: (doing this instead of fav season or ep)me3. ik, ik, people dump on it all the time, but i honestly think it’s a masterpiece and i adore it to pieces. there’s been no other video game since that has affected me emotionally to the same level and there’s so many outstanding moments in it compared to the other two installments (even tho i love those as well). i have my issues with it (who doesn’t lol) but it’s still the best mass effect game for me.

as for fav mission, gotta be citadel dlc. ik, cliche answer BUT it’s such a perfect 3 hours of content i honestly wouldn’t change in any way.

least favourite game and mission:uuuuh i love me1 a lot but it’s my least fav out of the 3 mainly for gameplay reasons (i’m a huge completionist and i HATE having to do all the planet missions in the mako). 

least fav mission is the fucking derelict reaper in me2 it’s the WORST and scares me so bad! i’m bad at survival horror type video games!!! as much as i love how much ME can swerve into a different genre so quickly i am a big baby and i can’t shoot straight

saddest death:man idk how to choose! mordin was saddest to me personally obviously because he’s my favourite character, but his death is also such a satisfying conclusion to his character arc so idk! shepard’s death is gutwrenching as well, but again, it really makes sense to me as a culmination of her story. maybe legion. partly because “does this unit have a soul?” will haunt me forever and partly because that’s the death i felt served the least narrative purpose.

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate:i don’t HATE him but i never warmed to grunt as much as everyone else seemed to. he’s fine but i don’t really emotionally connect with him as much as with the other squaddies.

my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave:aria and the illusive man lmao. they’re both terrible people and i love them so very much for it. the illusive man is for sure my fav non-reaper antagonist and such an interesting character. and aria should hmu next time i’m free B)

my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave:kaidan……… he has never done a single thing wrong in his life and it, like, actively pains me to have to put him through All That or have to hear about what he’s already been put through throughout the course of the games. let him retire to his parent’s canadian beach house in peace

my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship:the way this question is worded is really annoying me lol. i also don’t think i have any ships i actually feel are like “omg bad dirty wrong” for ME. i want everyone to be happy.

my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship:f!shep/liara and f!shep/kaidan. i like both their romances, especially liara’s, and esp later game content with them is rly good, but i will never care about the actual romances with them as much as i care about the potential of f!shep/tali lol.

hi hafsa i was wondering if u could help me with s/t i've always had a rly bad relationship with my mom (we're brown, pakistani and muslim-- shia to be exact) and a lot of the arguments and tension has been abt religion (I mean excluding all the emotional abuse or whatver) she's always telling me all these stupid things like how women cant sing in front of men and similar things that "r absolutely haram" which technically are but how do i argue that its a nonsensical rule? she always turns it 1

it into a religious thing where she’s like wow you are lecturing me about islam and u dont even pray regularly or read the qu'ran daily (i’m really trying to be better) and i just feel so helpless bc she won’t even listen to anything. like ive never even been able to have a casual conversation with her in the 20 years ive been alive. like i dont want to blame her for moving me away from islam but she is the main reason i dont want to be religious bc all she talks abt is how im going to hell for

this or that and i just dont know what to do. are there website or something that can help me be a better muslim that arent rly critical? ive tried looking for websites but they all sound like my mom and then i think abt how she is right and how i prob am going to hell and i just. dont know how to talk to her that not eveything is so black and white but maybe it is and im wrong but yeah she says im too “amreeki” which i HATE bc i literally just said maybe we should have equality like what i just

idk at this point ive accepted ill never have a relationship with my mom and it just makes me so sad bc ive never had a maternal figure so i guess my last question is what can i do 2 help come back 2 islam & learn the good things instead of all the fear and bad stuff my mom kept yelling about bc sometimes i find myself disgustingly agreeing like wow that does kind of sound barbaric but then i feel like garbage bc it cant rly be like that right?? how do i get her to see my way? or just a diff one

hi chanda, I’m sorry for the belated reply I have been waiting to get into desktop so I could see all your asks together. my advice would be to talk to your mom about lighter topics, if possible. do not approach her with the intention to change her mind, she is set in her ways and it is clearly a point of tension for you to remind her that you and her do not think alike. that’s okay. there’s always a clash of generations, cultures, etc. and over time perhaps you and your mom will be able to see each other’s perspectives. but until then, learn to gauge when you should and shouldn’t speak. I say this because I don’t want you to keep getting hurt by the responses you are getting, not because I want you to be submissive, bc I def think it’s important for you to stay firm on your own personal believes. sometimes it’s just easier to quietly listen instead of trying to dignify them with a response. 

the next thing is obviously to educate yourself so that you can think critically for yourself rather than just accepting what you are being told is ‘right’ even if it makes you uncomfortable. you’ve already shown interest in wanting to do this so that’s awesome! definitely searching online is not the best, I too always find the most abrasive answers to questions when I’ve done this.

I don’t really know many resources.. like I would recommend listening to lectures on youtube and stuff but the only person I used to listen to was nouman ali khan and even that was like… a lot for me like I have trouble listening to male lecturers for some of the reasons your were saying about lessons being based in fear lol so if anyone can rec better people pls share! also starting to read a translation of the Quran on your own is a good place to start as well. ik I have shia followers and mutuals so if anyone has any resources or advice to help anon learn more pls share them? @khatmal @vayelent @aliofbabylon ?? (ik there are more but a bitch is forgetful I’m sorry) 

I wish I could give you more resources and have been more helpful though. I sincerely hope that things get better for you sis. iA someday you and your mom are able to develop a relationship if that is what is best for you, and if it’s not then I hope you’re able to just have the strength to be who you are and just be at peace with how things are. may you find everything you’re looking for and just generally all the best wishes to you angel 💗💗💗
