YOI meta: How the beach scene solves the conflict in episode 12
Ever since I first watched Yuri!!! On Ice, its ending has been bugging me because the conflict between Yuuri and Viktor never felt truly resolved. It was during yet another rewatch when I finally discovered that Yuuri and Viktor indeed make up in a way that doesn’t require any further elaboration between the two of them. And it happens right before Yuuri's free skating.
But let's first make a short trip back to episode 4 when Viktor drags Yuuri to the beach after avoiding him. Their conversation reveals that Yuuri hates it when people pressure him and treat him as if he’s weak. Viktor then asks what kind of persona Yuuri wants him to take on, indicating that he's used to that kind of thing. Yuuri strongly rejects the idea of Viktor taking on any role for him at all because he wants Viktor to be himself.
Tumblr media
“I want you to stay who you are, Viktor. I’ve always looked up to you. I ignored you because I didn’t want you to see my shortcomings. I’ll make it up to you with my skating!”
While Yuuri is unaware of his feelings for Viktor at this point in the story, these words are nothing but his love language. For half his life, he admired Viktor from afar and wanted to get to know the man behind the dazzling façade. There are recurrent hints throughout the series that Viktor was lonely and depressed before Yuuri and that Yuuri is the first person showing an interest in the human Viktor Nikiforov. Thus, Yuuri telling Viktor to be himself is big because he gives Viktor the space to be himself.
From the conversation on the beach, Viktor can infer two things that will become important later:
Yuuri deeply cares for Viktor's well-being.
Anxiety and self-esteem issues prompt Yuuri to act in ways that defy common sense and might result in Yuuri denying himself what he desires most (at least at first glance).
Viktor's insight boils down to the following line, which represents his love language:
“I won’t let you off easily, then. That’s my way of showing my love.”
Tumblr media
The beach scene defines their relationship and their unique love language. Technically, it's the pivotal point of their love. The promise they give each other enables them to thrive as human beings: Viktor needs a space where he can be himself and Yuuri needs someone who stops him from denying himself his dreams, and both find this in one another.
Now fast-forward to episode 12!
In his misery, Viktor is blind to Yuuri’s true intentions (I explore certain aspects of Viktor’s reaction to Yuuri's declaration to retire in greater detail here). Whether he doesn’t want to return to competition because he found a new purpose in coaching or only wants to come back if Yuuri continues skating, or his reasons are a convoluted mess that includes these aspects is of little relevance in the face of the anguish Yuuri’s decisions unleash. Viktor is hurting because the idea of returning to a sport that caused burnout and depression while never seeing Yuuri skate / never coaching Yuuri again kills him from the inside.
However, Yuuri is gloriously unaware of Viktor’s struggles. In addition, his core issue “never being enough” caused by his short programme scores distorts the conclusions he draws from Viktor’s behaviour, which cements his decision to retire. He’s well aware he stole Viktor from the sport, as numerous people pointed it out to him throughout the series. He knows Viktor dodged all questions about comeback and retirement. He saw Viktor watching the other skaters with interest. He feels (or believes to feel) that a part of Viktor wants to return to the ice. And no matter how strongly his mental issues influence him, he isn’t entirely wrong.
“I don’t want to end it here, Viktor. I want to be in figure skating with you forever. But your staying on as my coach means slowly killing you as a competitive skater.”
Viktor once had a love for the ice, it only needs to be reignited. No one knows this better than Yuuri who months ago, was close to retiring himself - a sentiment that stuck with him for a long time because he thought he isn’t good enough for the sport. He only kept going because, through Viktor’s help, he started trusting in himself. Yuuri doesn’t want Viktor to neglect his own passion any longer because of him. Even though Viktor can’t see it right now, Yuuri’s decision to sacrifice his career for his love issues from his agape. However, by choosing retirement, Yuuri acts against his own desire.
Tumblr media
Before his final skate, Yuuri reaches out to Viktor, resorting to their conversation on that day on the beach. (Note that in ep. 4 Viktor reached out when Yuuri was in distress—oh how I love the symmetry!) On a surface level, his words refer to Viktor’s pep talk, but like so often in Yuri!!!, there are layered meanings. As Yuuri reminds Viktor of the promise they gave each other that day on the beach, Viktor finally understands that Yuuri made his decision out of love.
However, eight months with his nervous katsudon have taught Viktor to recognise when Yuuri is self-sabotaging and he has gained a basic understanding of how Yuuri’s mental issues impact him. He knows Yuuri loves the ice and so he doesn’t let Yuuri take the easy way out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is an appeal to Yuuri's competitiveness and I will die on this hill. With that free skating Yuuri just delivered, he threw down the gauntlet and Viktor accepts the challenge, appealing to Yuuri's ambition and competitiveness as competing against Viktor has always been Yuuri's dream. Ingenious bastard!
Here, Viktor ignites the spark in Yuuri to stay in competition. I don't buy that he used Yurio for this. He's not manipulative. Yurio only infers from Viktor's distress that his greatest rival plans to retire and gets mad. Yurio beating Yuuri by a hair's breadth is the last straw to make Yuuri change his mind.
Tumblr media
It's the promise from the beach scene that ends Yuuri and Viktor's conflict and elevates their relationship to an even higher level where Viktor can thrive as his true self as coach and competitor while Yuuri doesn't need to forgo his greatest dream of competing against Viktor. It's a perfect ending for each character arc as well as their arc as a couple and all it required was a reminder of the pivotal point of their love for each other.
Episode 12 portrays both the inner struggles of Yuuri and Viktor as well as their love with painful acuteness. Even though they know each other well, even though they share life and love, their situation at the end of episode 11 ignites a conflict that brings both their issues to the front. Given the circumstances, they handle the entire situation with amazing maturity whereas other adult couples would have split up. And they solve it beautifully by using their unique love language, thus giving each other what they need. "I want you to stay who you are" and "I won't let you off easily", indeed.
This discovery totally reshaped my conflicted feelings about the ending into a sense of satisfaction and closure, knowing that Yuuri and Viktor will continue growing and thriving together and that they have the means to solve every crisis that might occur. As a fan, I couldn't wish for a better ending and I have the greatest respect for the creators that they solved the conflict so swiftly given the limited time frame.
Every time I think it's impossible to love this show even more, I discover something that proves me wrong.

! DOMESTIC BTD HEADCANNONS !
Ren
Ren is a massive clean freak so if he accidentally draws blood while nipping at your neck or shoulders he'll quickly lap up the blood seeping from the wound before cleaning it off properly
He does most of the cooking and cleaning often not trusting you to do things the way he likes them to be done but if you offer to help him with it instead if just doing it he'll explain how he needs help and how to continue on
Ren still often thinks about strade even accidentally calling you by his name instead of your own
Ren loves to snuggle between you thighs and rest his cheek against your stomach wrapping his arms tightly around you to keep you close especially when he knows you've had a rough day
Everytime a thunderstorm comes by ren becomes extra clingy due to the sensitivity of his hearing wanting to listen to your voice instead of the raring storm outside
Ren still struggles to let you leave the house by yourself often believing that one day once you've gained his trust you'll leave and never return
Ren is a very hazardly kisser he's not used to taking things slow and always tries to keep it messy and unsorted his sharp fangs often grazing against your lip leaving some small marks
Rens nails and teeth have left some slight accidental scarring on your skin but ren always comments about how he thinks they suit you
Ren would force you to watch and re-watch old 12 episode romance anime that end of a cliff hanger with no season two because he wants you to suffer with him
You had to convince him to throw out all of strades old tapes which wasn't a easy feat
You would often find your clothing that was about to he thrown into the wash going missing but then you'd find ren had stolen them to remember your scents
Ren would be really awkward at family gathers that you brought him too considering his own family
Ren has a soft spot for when you help him comb through his tail or help him clean out his ears sometimes letting a small pur slip from his lips
Lawrence
You and Lawrence made a small in home garden together after you moved into his apartment he already had alot of plants but he wanted ones that reminded him strictly of you
He would often take you out on small walks through the park late at night clinging tightly to your hand the entire way
Lawrence's body temp is naturally quite low so he loves to cuddle up close to you like you're his personal heater sometimes slipping his hands underneath your shirt to give you a little spook
Lawrence would never confess the all the things he's done to other people to you even if you too were together for a long time you'd never know everything about him
Lawrence would never try pick up a argument he'd try leave it off because he thinks it's pointless to drag it on
Lawrence wouldn't be very emotionally available even if he tried to be
He's not one for leaving you alone trying to control your sleep schedule around his
Lawrence likes to help you style and wash your hair, reminding him of his time with his sisters growing up
Lawrence tried to start improving his hygiene after you and him started dating but that moment of trying quickly ended

January Drama Wrap Up
January was a month of ups and downs (and some very big let downs) but over all I enjoyed what I watched. I tried out a new country's dramas and discovered some classics at the same time and I've built myself a pretty solid Currently Watching List to take me into February.
📊 The Stats
Total Dramas: 12
Currently Watching: 3
Completed: 4
Dropped: 2
On Hold: 3
My To Watch List: 60
🎭 The Dramas
Tumblr media
🤼💰 Like Flowers in the Sand - Currently Watching
Like Flowers in the Sand is going to be another one of those k-dramas I am never going to be able to explain to my non k-drama watching friends without sounding like I've lost the plot a little.
"It's a small town drama about a minor league ssireum team and a wrestler who's been in a years long slump. There's also an investigation into a murder linked to match-fixing but that's kind of a side plot and it's linked to the wrestler's childhood friend who's reappeared incognito after disappearing mysteriously many years ago ... I promise it's good!"
It's probably not the drama for everyone but as someone who has historically loved sports centered k-dramas and who loved When Camilla Blooms this drama ticks so many of my boxes. I'm very excited to watch the complex relationships and politics of small town life be put under a microscope and dissected and I can already tell I'm going to love how morally grey all the characters are.
It also doesn't hurt that the ML is the biggest himbo to ever ever himbo and I love him and his empty brain to bits.
Prediction: I become a ssireum fan.
🕹️💌 Love For Love's Sake - Currently Watching
I've been staying away from K-BL these past few months because I've been struggling with their short run time but Love for Love' Sake lured me back in like a moth to the flame and I have no regrets.
Is Love For Love's Sake Perfect? No, there are definitely some pacing issues that are leaving me feeling very temporally confused about how quickly or slowly events are unfolding and the lower than average k-drama budget does show at certain points but, do you what?
I don't care.
I wholeheartedly love this drama and it's going to have to mess up its last 2 episodes Last Twilight style to change that.
The relationship between the main couple? Adorable. The openly gay leader of the school delinquents? We stan. The oddball friendship group forming because they're all slightly crushing on the ML? Sign me up! The addition of a glitch in the game that's starting to mess everything up? Horrifying and I love it.
Prediction: A new favourite K-BL is born and it's all thanks to this mf
🩺😭 Doctor Slump - Currently Watching
I'm watching this because it's on my Plan To Watch list and Netflix started playing the trailer after I'd finished watching an episode of The Way of the Househusband.
I won't lie, this is definitely the drama, out of all the dramas I'm currently watching, that I'm least certain I'll finish but, at the same time, I was pleasantly surprised by the first two episodes. Yes, it does do that typical comedy k-drama thing of mixing ridiculous over the top laughs with some incredibly difficult topics (because who doesn't want to be laughing hysterically one minute and then doing some deep self-reflection the next?) but so far the balance and the boundaries between the two moods has been relatively well struck and only time will tell if it manages to stay that way.
I appreciate tackling the topic of burn out and depression in a country that still champions overwork and mental fortitude above all else and I'm interested to see where it goes with that part of its arc. The "being framed for murder" I am a little less certain about, but it has definitely added a layer of intrigue to a story that would otherwise be relatively mundane and by the books.
As I said, time will tell if I continue to enjoy Doctor Slump but I'd say my only quibble with the drama so far is that I'm not sure "accused of (and potentially framed for) murder" and "suffering from depression due to burn out and work place abuse" quite fit what is normally meant by the word slump.
Prediction: Maybe I won't drop this half way through like I thought I would.

👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨🎥 BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita - Completed
My first Japanese BL ever and it was a good one. Yes, it was 3 episodes long, but it used its runtime perfectly. All of the main characters felt properly fleshed out (and the side characters were caricature enough that you only really needed one scene to know who they were and what they stood for), the pacing was great (it couldn't afford to drag but it didn't speed through scenes either), and it found the right balance between BL shenanigans and forrays into deeper messages. This was exactly what I needed at the time and, for someone who doesn't normally like mini-dramas that much, I enjoyed myself immensely.
Verdict: 8/10, I also want a life-size cardboard cutout of Aoyanagi to cuddle and hide behind when I open the door.
✒️💕 Cherry Magic, Japan - Completed
I'm planning to buy the manga.
I plan to watch the film next month (I never watch films).
I may have even checked out the fanfic scene in a bout of withdrawal.
Anyway, what I mean to say is that I get the hype, I really really do. This drama is fantastic.
Cherry Magic is one of those classics that you watch as a newbie and go "oh yeah I get why everyone is obsessed with this". The premise is novel and well executed, the characters are oh so easy to love, the main romance is so incredibly shippable, and the friendships are just as endearing.
I personally love the role Adachi's mind reading plays in shaping his relationship with Kurosawa and how the way it's handled means the audience feels what Adachi is feeling right alongside him. How can you not be charmed by the inner monologue of someone so sweetly and respectfully head over heels for you? But at the same time just because you're charmed, does that mean you like them back or is it just because you can see them at their most vulnerable? And what about once you're in the relationship? Do you give up the thing you know made it possible? Or do you pull back so you can't mess up once the crutch you rely on is gone?
There was so much quiet nuance to Adachi's and Kurosawa's relationship to each other and those around them and, when I one day sit down for a rewatch, I'm looking forward to unpicking them all.
Verdict: 8.5/10, Adachi and Kurosawa are going to be one of those couples that's impossible to leave behind. This is going to stick with me for a while, and once it's unstuck I'll just watch it again.
📸🌦️ Welcome to Samdal-Ri - Completed
I know some people thought the premise of Welcome to Sandal-Ri was unrealistic but, personally, I found it hard not to draw parallels between what happened to Cho Sam Dal in the drama and what happened to Kim Seon Ho in real life. Yes, the situations may differ somewhat (Sam Dal faces false accusations of work-place bullying by an employee while Seon Ho was accused of coercing his girlfriend into getting an abortion) but there were enough similarities (the media frenzy and the sheer intensity of the backlash, the scandals happening just as their careers peaked, the gradual revelation of what actually transpired) that I would be very surprised if there was no link at all.
For that alone, Welcome To Samdal-Ri had my attention from the get go. If this story were from a Western perspective, I would certainly have been much more wary of a story tackling false accusations (looking at you Euphoria) but from a Korean perspective, where celebrity culture is far more intense and volatile and in which false accusations have happened before and cancel culture can indeed end a career for even minor infractions (like dating), I wanted to see how it would be handled.
Ultimately I was satisfied, not wowed, not disappointed, satisfied. The show didn't dig that deep into the subject (personally I would have appreciated Sam Dal's case juxtaposed against another case in which the accusations turned out to be true) but it handled it deftly enough and felt "case-by-case" enough that I didn't feel as though it inadvertently gave off the message of "not believe anyone bringing accusations against celebrities".
Other than my own personal interest in the premise, Welcome to Sandal-Ri did a good job of holding my interest. In terms of overall vibe, it felt like a mix between (perhaps unsurprisingly) Hometown Cha Cha Cha (the idyllic small-town community filled with friends and loveable elders) and Our Beloved Summer (childhood lovers unfairly broken up but still pining for each other after years apart). The pacing was good, the characters loveable (I am now in love with Cho Hae In), and each episode felt like sinking into a warm bath for an hour.
Verdict: 8/10, it tackled an interesting topic while providing its audience with plenty of comfort and heart. It could have done without the love triangle though, just saying.
📃👩‍❤️‍👩 Out of Breath - Completed
I don't have too much to say about Out of Breath given it was 3 episodes long and less than an hour run time in total but I'm glad I watched it. Firstly, because it was nice to watch a (rare) Korean GL and secondly, because it managed to fit a lot into its short run time. Two break ups, a love triangle/unrequited love, cute dates, commentary on living queer in Korea, commentary on being out in Korea.... This show really had it all.
It was short, it was sweet, and it had a lot to say. I can't say I'd watch it again in a hurry, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a realistic portrayal of queer (and specifically) lesbian life in Korea.
Verdict: 7.5/10, it unpacked a lot in a short amount of time, the couple was extra cute too.
Tumblr media
🫂💕 Cherry Magic Thailand - On Hold
I realised very early on into watching Cherry Magic Thailand that I'd probably get a lot more out of it if I watched the original first. I'm not normally someone who says watching the OG is necessary to watch the adaptation (in fact I normally rebel against that idea with a whole lot of passion) but in this case it became very clear that without watching Cherry Magic Japan first, I was missing important reference points and comparisons that were pretty key to understanding and appreciating that plot fully.
Anyway, I've now watched and loved Cherry Magic Japan so Cherry Magic Thailand is back on the menu, I just want to give myself enough time away that when I go back to it, it's with completely new eyes (and I'm excited for when that moment comes).
Verdict: On Hold until I can give it a proper fresh start.
🩺🍲 Cooking Crush - On Hold
I watched this at completely the wrong time. I struggle with rom-com dramas at the best of times but by now I should know that I absolutely should not try to watch one when I am going through a period of high stress.
I am not kind to rom-coms when I am stressed, even the ones I might otherwise enjoyed.
As it is, I initially dropped Cooking Crush because I was struggling to stay focussed enough to finish an episode and the characters were grating on me. Looking back, part of me thinks that my lack of focus and general irritability may have had less to do with the drama itself and much more to do with the fact I could barely focus on anything during that time period and that I had barely any spoons left to give people in my actual life, let alone fictional ones.
So...
Anyway, Cooking Crush has continued to come across my dash in gif, meme, and analysis form and I've realised that I actually really like what I'm seeing, enough so that I've moved it out of the "dropped" pile and into my "on hold" list so as to give it a second shot in the not so distant future (something that doesn't normally happen).
I genuinely think I might like this drama, I just need to make sure I'm in the right mindset for it first to give it a fair shot 💪
Verdict: On Hold until my next holiday.
🐍🦅 The Sign - On Hold
On paper The Sign sounds like it's right up my street, after all what's not to love about star-crossed lovers doomed by the threads of fate and history to lose each other?
But that's the thing, "on paper". In real life The Sign is well, messy and a bit too cop-heavy for my liking. Sure there are some great moments, Billy and Babe's chemistry is on fire, and it may have one of the best and most artistic sex scenes ever to grace the BL screens of the world but sexy times does not a good show make and I've found myself torn about whether or not I should keep going or just give up at this point.
To help me decide I've taken the "on paper" part of The Sign very literally and bought the book to read. If I like the book (the translation is a bit choppy but I can overlook that if the story is good) then I'll finish the show, if I don't then into the land of the dropped it goes.
Verdict: On Hold until I've actually experienced it on paper.
Tumblr media
🌄🖕 Last Twilight - Dropped (episode 10)
I won't lie, this is the second time (the first time being Only Friends) that I've ended up being grateful my busy schedule got in the way of my drama watching because wow this show really took a tumble at the last hurdle. There was so much Last Twilight could have done, so many societal boundaries it could have crossed and reshaped and re-imagined but instead it went with... well a literal "fix it fic" ending that fixed nothing but instead broke all it had built up beyond repair.
I'm not going to go into detail about how Last Twilight let nearly every single one of its principal characters down, about how Mhok was never allowed screen time to process his own emotional trauma, about how the show briefly touched upon and then completely glossed over the very different social and financial circumstances of the both couples and the effects this would have on their experience of the world, of how there was so much ableist messaging around both the treatment of Dad's character which was always lurking under the surface but which only really came to light alongside the ending..... All I'm going to say is that, up until episode 9, Last Twilight had a choice about what messages it wanted it's audiences to come away with at the end, and it picked the wrong fucking ones.
It could have been a challenge to the ableist and classist mainstream norm so often portrayed in the media, instead it perpetuated harmful and hurtful rhetoric and stereotypes against the very people it claimed to champion.
Maybe one day I'll watch it again, but only because I want to properly break down what went so wrong.
Recommended reads by people who expressed it better than me:

Verdict: Dropped for betraying it's audience and those it claimed to champion.
👨‍⚕️⏳ Triage - Dropped (episode 10)
This one hurts me.
This one well and truly hurts me.
Because, the thing is, I loved so much about this show. It does so much right and up until episode 10 I was preparing to rank it among my favourite BLs of all time; the plot was fast moving and carried you from episode to episode in a whirlwind of anticipation, the romance (although minor compared to most other BLs) was highly shippable, the characters had depth and flaws and strengths that made you root for them, and the time loop plot device was doing things that were genuinely new and innovative.
I was hooked.
And then everything I loved just disappeared.
I don't know what possessed the creators of this show to completely change the universe of the drama for the last 2 episodes, maybe they thought the old one was getting stale (it wasn't).
All I can say is I absolutely hated the new turn of events.
Familiar characters with entirely new personalities and character arcs who I was apparently expected to root for (I don't know who they are anymore), time travel rules thrown out of the window because the plot demanded it be so (I'm sorry but the notebook time travels now? And a kiss will bring back memories?), the entire premise of the show just dropped and never even properly answered (why did Tin need to save Tol????? What about his heart murmur????)....
No.
Just no.
I'm out.
Verdict: Dropped for becoming a completely different drama in the last 2 episodes
⭐ The Awards
I fell in love with a lot of people and things this month so let's talk about them
☺️ Smile That Could Launch A Thousand Ships
Tumblr media
Yuuichi Kurosawa (and his actor Keita Machida) is, quite frankly, a ridiculously gorgeous man in the most normal of circumstances but his smile takes it to a whole new level.
Truly a sight that could light up a room (and the whole building the room was in), this smile is filled with such genuine happiness and love that it's hard not to smile right back just as brightly, whether you be a hapless audience member beaming at your computer screen or a flustered Adachi trying desperately to hold on to your heart.
What I also love about this smile is that it only comes out when Kurosawa is properly, over the moon happy. He's got other smiles for other occasions and they're all very pretty but this one? This one sits above them all and makes them pale in comparison.
🩷 Biggest Crush
Tumblr media
I have a type and that type is Cho Mina (and quite possibly Kang Mi Na, I clearly need to work through her filmography for... science). But seriously, this woman is STUNNING and is made all the more so by her dedication to her daughter and her refusal to let society pressure her into being ashamed of being a young single mum. She's strong, she's kind, she's independent, she's beautiful both inside and out. I don't care if she got the least screen time out of all the sisters, she stole the whole show for me and I am smitten.
📃 Line That Hit Me Like A Freight Train
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'm used to pretending to be normal"
"pretending to be normal"
I'm going to be forever grateful to Cherry Magic for giving me positive and thoughtful Ace rep in Fujisaki, for showing her happy and confident and unbothered by society's expectations that she should one day couple up and settle down, for giving voice to the Ace experience of "pretending to be normal" in simple line that holds so much meaning and so many layers.
I know it's not canon, but in my head Fujisaki does tell Adachi out loud one day, and she gets her response of "is that so".
🛌 Plot Device That Made Me Sit Up and Go "Yes"
Tumblr media
I may have ended up dropping Triage but credit where credit is due, it did do a lot of things right and one of those things was its ideas around time loops/ time travel. The idea that where you fall asleep at the end of the time loop directly affects how far back you travel back in time for the start of the loop?
Genius.
Why haven't I seen this done before??? It's such a clever way to provide the loop-character with the agency they need to actually make changes without breaking the established rules of the time loop and it allows for each iteration of the loop to be significantly different depending on how early or how late the changes to the timeline are made.
It literally solves almost all of my usual issues with time loop narratives.
It was genuinely intriguing watching Tin try to work out where he needed to fall asleep in order to go back as far as he needed and it was such a shame that, as the show neared its end, that aspect of the time loop experience just sort of fell away.
I want more time loop ideas like this and I want them now.
🌄 Scene That Took My Breath Away
Tumblr media
Last Twilight may have ended by taking this scene and its significance and flushing it down the toilet but you know what, the author is dead and I killed him. I'm taking this scene back.
Day wanting his last experience with his quickly disappearing sight to be a homage to the book that helped him come to terms with his disability and see the world anew, his description of the sunset he could see in his mind's eye that is far more brilliant and beautiful than reality could ever dream to be, his clear moment of realisation that yes, he could live without his sight and not only could he live without it, he could well and truly thrive, the last thing he sees being Mhok's face as the ultimate declaration of love....
The last twilight in episode 9 could have been a truly special moment and, taken in isolation, it still is. It's just such a shame that such a beautiful depiction of growth and healing and self-love and self-acceptance was ultimately papered over with an ending that didn't fit it at all, one that erased the positive and affirming messages this scene held.

I'm about to get into hot water, so before we begin, I do not support ableism. I don't believe that mental problems such as memory issues and disorders don't exist; they do, I have ADHD. I don't believe that physically disabled people are weaker than people who have basic functions. If you need physical sources to do things like remember or walk around, I get why. Two of my main fandoms have issues with ableism (Warrior Cats has a ton of it, from renaming someone to Halftail to being forced into medicine cat hood for being born blind) but I'm not talking about them.
I like Cabby. She is a good player, and despite being physically flawed, she won Season 3 after redeeming herself and recognizing that she doesn't need to say sorry to be forgiven.
That being said, there is one thing that I absolutely hate about her arc- that being her memory loss and how it was just used as a reason behind her files.
In 'Home Is Where The Heart Is', it is implied that Cabby has short term memory loss, and therefore uses her files to remember. Yes, this was later shown in 'Blue Buried', but it always bothered me- a person with great memory and possibly photogenic memory- how this was shown in one episode and then pretty much never brought up again.
Ever since the beginning of III, Cabby uses her files. And in those first seven episodes, I really liked her character as a strong competitor. Have they shown any signs of memory loss in the first ten episodes? No, not really. What about 'Pesty Besties'? Not really. How about 'Friend or Froze', the episode after the reveal of her memory? Ehhhhh- But what about 'The Great Bluish Bake-Off'? 'The Show Must Go On'? 'You Can't Do This Forever'? Nope.
HOW COME 15 OUT OF THE 19 EPISODES OF INVITATIONAL HAVE NO SIGNS OF CABBY'S MEMORY LOSS? Before, I get, they weren't drafting Episode 12 when 2 released, let alone 7. But after 15, the only sign of memory loss is in 18, where she's reading off of a written script.
I'd accept if she was doing this for fun, or because she was into Anthropology, or because she wanted to make a strategy. I can say that I do like the idea of her memory loss, but it's written SO BADLY and barely brought up that I can't wrap my head around the actual reason behind Cabby's files. They just said "Hey, here's a fun fact about Cabby!" and only bring it up a few more times in the season. Maybe a few more scenes of her struggling with the disability would make me love it.
That's one of my problems with III. They don't really focus on her too much after rejoining that the idea of her having files because of memory loss is fleshed out enough for me to enjoy it. I wished they handled this idea better so that I can appreciate it.
TL;DR: They didn't focus on Cabby's short term memory loss long enough for me to appreciate the purpose of her files and that makes me sad.

"Loki" season 2 finale reaction
Currently reassembling my mind after having it blown by the Loki season finale.
I thought most of Season 2 was decent, but this finale was one of the best things I've seen from the entire Marvel franchise. It also turned out to be one of the most beautiful combinations of science fiction and mythology I've ever seen.
And that character arc ... I'm struggling to find words adequate for how amazing and transcendent it was. It wrapped up the journey of a character whose story has been unfolding onscreen for 12 years, and brought him to an unexpected but satisfying place.
There was one line in particular that, combined with his actions in that moment, made him a Christ-figure. "I know what kind of god I have to be ... for you. For all of us." He realizes that he has to be the kind of god that sacrifices himself for the survival of the world. He has to be reborn through death, like the T.S. Eliot line he quoted earlier in the episode.
After all the time he spent trying to make himself a god to be feared by all, he becomes a god who works unseen, without credit for all that he does.
Loki finally understands what "burden" and "glory" and "purpose" mean, and has found his own through love--for Sylvie, for Mobius, for all his friends and colleagues in the TVA, and for the innumerable timelines and all their inhabitants.
If that is the last we see of Loki, I'll be content. But apparently he's now the god of stories, so I guess he'll always be (or maybe always has been) in the Marvel multiverse.

I'm not sure if this is true or not it's just hearsay from what I've been told and from what I've seen a few people talk about but it was mentioned that one of the original plans for RWBY was to have 14 volumes not 12 like me and so many others have thought and if we actually managed to get this that would be so amazing do I think we would get this anytime soon no because I think it would be nice if
💙
we did get 14 volumes I've always said that because RWBY has so many characters we would need at least 14 or 15 volumes and if it's true that that's what crwby has planned for the future if we could possibly get it there are so many things that I would just love to see if that was possible because we do know at some point even though we found out today from the volume 9 epilogue that was
💚
made we found out that Salem went to jail which is a theory I've had and I'm glad to know that we at least know where Salem is where cinder is who knows she could come the vacuo or just stay there with Salem for all we know Salem got knocked out by cinder and sent to the ever after and we're never going to see her again till they do a spin-off book or a movie or something later on and cinder the final boss we got to fight
🧡
But that's just wishful thinking I don't think that'll happen I think at the end we are going to have to see other heroes face Salem I know that they're struggling trying to get volume 10
💜
But after seeing this epilogue and how positive the fandom reacted to it after not really having any content for so long like literally a year and I know we had those crossover movies with the Justice League but now that we see that Warner Bros is selling the IP to Rwby off to someone else those
❤️
movies still really irrelevant and aren't even really Canon or even Canon adjacent anymore if you think about it they're just a fun little crossover movie you can just look at if you feel like you don't know him now I guess
If 14 volumes is what the people working on arwby want and something I think even the fans will want I really hope that's something we could maybe get like I said there are so many possibilities because we're still in vacuole we don't know who the maiden is we haven't met Theodore we still have to go through everyone's arts we could take volume 10
💚
and 11 to figure that out 12 could be like a shorter volume where maybe it's eight episodes or 10 like volume nine was and they use that to travel and have the characters all understand and learn to work together and we get feelings and everything sorted out in that volume and then 12-14
💛
They go back to Vail they try to search for The relic maybe they have to go to another world similar to the ever after to look for The relic cuz that's how ozpin hide it and that could be another volume
I don't know I've always thought that 14 or 15 volumes will be good I'm really hoping we do get to finish this show at best I think we will honestly just need 13 we could spend volume 10 and 11 and vacuole 12 we go to beacon and then 13 we just used that for the rest of the character development and the wrap everything up or set up the spin-off series they're probably going to make I mean I'm joking about this now but wouldn't be shocked if it did so well at the end they tried to do a spinoff show XD

6, 10, 12, 18, 23, 28, 29
6. Favorite title you used Solace. Coming up with titles is the worst and I hate it. This was one of the few times I didn’t struggle with it and I just feel like this one word encapsulates the fic so well.
10. What work was the quickest to write? Never in the history of writing have I written anything quickly 😂. But I guess probably this one, given that I somehow managed to publish it just 2 days after the episode aired.
12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? Oh gosh. If we’re counting every half-baked idea for a fic even though I’ve only written a few lines then… like 25? If we’re talking fics that might reasonably see the light of day then probably about half that.
18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? Tim. Which is weird for me, because he’s also the character I relate to the most (although Lucy is a close second in that regard). The complexity of his trauma and his emotions is my favorite thing about him, but it can also be difficult to untangle. Also, the fact that he’s not the most vocal person in the world sometimes makes it difficult to write dialogue while keeping him in character.
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year? I did not, although I’m hoping @queseraone is still interested in the collab we’ve briefly talked about doing because I think it would be so much fun!
28. Favorite work you wrote this year? Not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun writing this one.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? I think it’s a tie between these two (which are from the same fic just a few paragraphs apart): Their eyes meet and her breath catches in her throat, because she’s never seen him so vulnerable. The mask he’s been wearing since this afternoon has slipped away completely and the only thing left is pain, raw and visceral and tearing him apart from the inside out. -and- He sinks into her and she tightens her grip, holding him together as he finally allows himself to fall apart.

Journal having possible BPD; an analysis
you read the title, im going to write on why i think Journal from PPT2 has traits of borderline personality disorder bc im very normal about this character and i like to study him like an ant (also i have bpd myself)
NOTES:
i already wrote down a thread on twitter so this is like a repost here
pwBPD stands for people with Borderline Personality Disorder, im typing this since im going to use the short version of said phrase
----------------------------
1) impulsive actions
knowing that Journal had an important task to stop Mr. Hand from escaping, it's no doubt that he would commit risks (even unplanned) to do his work, including;
- forcing himself to stay up to the point he barely had any sleep
- getting himself wet in the rain (since paper-based objects shouldnt be out on the water for too long)
- breaking relationships with others
there are other actions that i might have missed but these are the ones i could remember. in case you do not know, impulsivity is very common within pwBPD.
while things like consuming drugs and unsafe sexual intercourse arent included in the above list (i mean, ofc, this show doesn't contain adult themes especially when majority of its fanbase are minors), damaging positive relationships is part of this impulsivness.
2) unstable realtionships / splitting
as said before, Journal had seen breaking his positive relationships with others, notably with Treasure Chest and Post-It Note, over something they had said or did once.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that being TC with his immunity token and Post-It wanting to take a break from work, in which causes him to lash out on them for those reasons above. he was also seen acting negatively towards Ukulele and Bubble Wrap.
Tumblr media
Journal's actions above can be similar to splitting (a BPD-exclusive term in which pwBPD tend to characterize themselves, other people, and situations in black and white), and it may contribute to relationships not being stable. it is possible for splitting episodes to be triggered from minor events or inconveniences (as said about TC and Post-It above)
3) intense emotions
Journal was seen to be more irritable as episodes went by, as his recent behavior include being bitter towards someone and having to easily lash out. he was also seen having fights and arguments with others characters, especially with Treasure Chest ever since episode 9 until 12.
Tumblr media
One of the symptoms of BPD is that a person rapidly changes their emotions and even often.
he does not only have intense anger, but as well as intense fear or paranoia, and because of his stress-related paranoia, he feels more intensely than the others do.
4) psychosis
Journal is canonically psychotic as he had hallucinations shown on-screen twice. his hallucinations caused him to become more paranoid or, as in the recent episode, have a panic attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some pwBPD may likely have psychotic symptoms, although not common, it can still be possible.
5) favorite person
Journal likely has Post-It Note as his favorite person (fp for short). He seems to have a alot of trust with Post-It since he was the only one who tried to understand his struggles and is wiling to help Journal out on his work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
although, since episode 11, after Post-It Note said that he wanted to relax fron work for a bit and calmly told him to calm down, Journal got devistated and got angry at him for it, so he distanced himself from Post-It Note and continues to work by himself without his help.
"how would this tie to him having an fp?"
in some cases, pwBPD tend to put high (mostly unachievable) standards for their fp(s), and if those standards arent met, they will start splitting and push their fp(s) away for it.
even Journal's standard put on Post-It Note isnt as ridiculously high, Journal did lash out on him for not meeting it and this did end up hurting both parties at the end.
----------------------------
conclusion:
because of how his behavior connect to BPD symptoms listed above (there might be more that i might have missed), he is likely (if not heavily) implied to have borderline personality disorder

finished ep 12 of osnf. much sleepy. oughh.
Okay not nearly as many thoughts as last time (I blame the fact that I stayed up late then woke up early to watch this episode, am eepy) but I still got a few!
Alright first of all was Cellbit TRYING to kill them with that encounter at the beginning. SIR. WHAT WAS THAT. He really threw everything at them, the creatures just kept coming and coming. For a while I thought that he was trying to set up for some dramatic entrance where another character (a new NPC maybe) would run in to join the fray and help them out because there were just SO MANY OF THOSE FUCKERS WHAT THE HELL.
Poor Ceasar being scooby-doo chased around the field by the mist trying to shoot the creatures away from his friends while repeatedly getting punched in the back of his head. Joui fighting for his life (literally) trying to get that stupid ass murderdog off of him that wouldn’t let up—even when IT WAS CUT IN HALF, IN HALF—and nearly dying to it (thank god Calango remembered the armor stats hhhhh). And the crazy contrast between Bagi(Liz) rolling several extremes while Rakin(Thiago) rolls nothing but fails because he was trapped and to escape he needed a strength test and his strength stat is s h i t.
But MAN that 2 on strength he rolled trying to save Joui. Thiago struggled the whole fight to free himself from the snake-thing but the moment he saw Joui about to die, he was able to find it in himself to rip that monster off of Joui. Not even joking, I was so relieved. I don't know what I would have done if Joui died. Cried probably. Cried a lot. Joui spent that whole fight yelling at his friends to just run, just get out of there, because he would rather die than watch his friends die again, and so soon after the Nightmare... Hhough Jouiiiii ;-; Wrapping him up in a blanket you're so good sweetheart, you're so good, your friends care about you so much, I know you can't stand to see them hurt but they don't want to see you hurt either.
Anyway uh. The Jeniffer cow lived* but Murilo/the Collector did not, rest in peace my dude. And all evidence suggests the Gatekeeper as the culprit in the murders. And Joui (Luba!!) pointing out how the Gatekeeper told them it was okay to use fire! Man that was a GOOD catch.
But... How did the Gatekeeper know that Thiago wouldn't light up immediately? Bc if he did then the mist would've descended and he would have to figure out how to sneak away during the fight to kill the Helper. And it seems kinda awkward for the group to immediately encounter the mist before even getting to know the town. In any case I'm glad Thiago didn't try to smoke right away, for those story-reasons.
*Side note: real fucking funny how Cellbit said he and Guaxi talked off-stream to discuss how Arthur would react to certain things so that Cellbit's NPC-ing of Arthur for this episode would be accurate, and Arthur proceeded to spend the whole episode fretting over the fucking cow. Like his friends come stumbling out of the woods, two of nearly dead, the other two not much better off (well Thiago was fine bc of his op shield lol), and he's more concerned about the cow. I know that was probably just to set up for him staying with the cow for most of the episode so that he could take a background role but that's so fucking funny. Arthur is just kneeling by the cow "🥺 oh Jennifer....." And of course Joui, angel that he is, puts a hand on Arthur's shoulder and reassures him that they'll find help for Jennifer while he himself is like. Actively bleeding out. 10/10 rp I'm so happy to know that this is character-accurate for Arthur lmfao.
Or perhaps Joui/Luba's theory about what the Gatekeeper told them about fire is wrong, and this is just a coincidence. iirc, the Gatekeeper never told them that it was okay to use fire, he just said it was okay to smoke. Then again, it's apparently his job to tell the new Ignaros not to use fire, period, so the fact that he didn't bring that up is suspicious. Maybe he was trying to be subtle about it, as part of an alibi? If he told them outright that fire was okay, that would put him under suspicion, but if he skirted around the details, or just failed to mention, well...that's also suspect, but it's safer, a detail that's more malleable if he has to defend himself from accusation.
That is to say, if this really is all the Gatekeeper's doing. Someone could be setting him up. If he was really trying to get away with several murders, then why leave the front door to his tower open? Why not destroy the bloody clothes, or bury them out in the woods or something? Liz pointed out the fact that no body in Santo Berco suspects each other, as they all trust each other, but come on man, it's murder 101, you destroy the evidence. Idk he might just be a real shitty murderer. Besides, what motive could he have? I guess that'll be explained, if he really is the murderer. And where did he go? It doesn't seem like he left willingly—not being around to ring the bell would attract a lot of attention to himself, and the door was wide open—or maybe he was in a rush? Questions, questions.
Poor Blacksmith. Things aren't looking too good for you, my man.
In any case, the real Door Final Boss is coming up. Thiago and Ceasar, hope your kicking legs are ready. (Tbh I completely forgot about that little black card thing, thank god Liz/Bagi didn't lmao. Such an inconspicuous little thing to carry so much plot significance...)

How do you feel about the Station 19 cancelation news? I’m shocked but not as sad as I thought I would be. Felt like they’d been flailing for a while there. I’m not sure what this means for Greys but I just started liking it again this season and would love to have 2 more seasons with the new interns before they end it. Knowing ABC they’ll try to get to 25 seasons because it’s such a money maker. I try not to compare them too much but I always thought Greys should’ve ended around season 8 but definitely by season 12. And idk if they’ve started filming already but I’m guessing that now Marina’s story will be a rush job about getting kids asap and being a family which is at least a happy if somewhat boring ending. The person I’m really excited to see get a good ending is Vic though. She deserves more than lucklastre relationships and comic relief. Also Jack. Would love for them to do something coherent with him that isn’t just about women either. What would you like to see for your favorite characters?
Hey anon, pfff where to begin?! I sure was surprised, I really didn't see it coming. Rationally speaking, I kinda get it. I mean, this is how it works; just because some shows do get many/endless seasons, it's not the norm, and 7 seasons is actually pretty decent. (One more than Private Practice, for example). Yet kinda understanding doesn't mean I don't have any thoughts or feelings about it! To start with, I feel like it's always better (to accept) when it's a creators decision, not the network's. And something else that isn't helping (at all!!) is the fact that it's all so rushed, with (suddenly) only ten more episodes. Though I do feel that ten x 40 minutes could be enough to wrap it all up (I am glad that at least they have the chance to write an actual ending), it just feels unnecessarily cruel. All in all I would lie if I'd say I'm super upset (with the chance of sounding preachy: if this year told me one thing, it's to upset about real misery and just enjoy everything else!), but it does feel like a pity - I was definitely still on board - and I do feel for everyone who's sad or upset about the news. Losing something you deeply love is never great, and though there will be other shows and ships, that's just not something most people want to hear right now, so to all of them I can only say: hang in there! (And please do enjoy season 7. It's not over till it's over!)
I personally don't think any of this will effect Grey's (PP didn't either). Who knows, it might even mean that Carina (finally) becomes a regular on there? She sure deserves it, though I'm going back and forth with actually wanting this, which has more to do with Maya or more so: Danielle. I wouldn't want her to be "stuck" on some guest appearance once in a while (or worse: them not knowing how to integrate her, like they's been struggling with Stefania/Carina on S19). So yeah, I see options, but I also have moments where I feel like I can actually be okay with.... I don't know... them moving to Italy (pregnant, for all I care, since it ends anyway and I know it would make people happy).
About the others. Well, I think they're getting full circle with Andy as captain, so at least there's that. I'm with you about Vic, I want her happy and not because of some dude. I guess the key for her will be crisis one. Same with Jack, he deserves happiness, and also a lot more acknowledgement (yes he can act like an idiot, but that doesn't mean he is one). When the show started he was actually doing fine as LT and this close to becoming Captain... so maybe he could (also) become one after all, albeit at a different station? I do like some blossoming romance though, this is that kind of show after all, so for that I'm thinking Travis - I would really like to see him find The One.
And besides all this? I just want fire. A whole lot of fire! And fun. Like... calendar and bar nights fun. Thrills and smiles... that's not too much to ask for, is it?

Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective Episode 12 Review - Accepting Spitz's Request
If you look really closely at the opening, you can see that it has updated to include the culprits from the Mad Chameleon cases; they are where Torage is. Anyways, other than the opening update announcement, the penultimate episode is the first of two parts where it revolves around the promise Ron and Toto made to Spitz back in Episode 4. I’m glad that the season is ending on fulfilling said promise by looking into where Spitz’s missing family is.
Tumblr media
Spitz has been a big asset to Ron and Toto, so it’s time to pay back the favor. However, Ron is a fan of equivalent exchange. If he were to help Spitz, he need something in return: specifically the unaltered version of the Bloody Field Training incident that was kept hidden away years ago to conceal crucial information about the truth. It’s held in a very secretive location in BLUE and Spitz is one of the few who can access it, given that he’s the tracking specialist and probably the best tracker in the story; he even bugged Toto’s phone without his knowledge! Spitz’s hesitation caused Toto to berate Ron for coming up with such a thing; he’s practically Ron’s conscience at this point—the good cop to Ron’s bad. Toto being good cop moved Spitz so much that he decides to accept the offer; I just hope he will be able to pull it off—that request is practically making Spitz Ron’s mole. What will happen if BLUE catches him stealing the files? Expulsion? Death?
Spitz’s missing family is his brother, Shepherd Feier (according to the end credits) and he was last seen in Yamanashi, a rather rural town in Japan eleven years ago. His brother was an ethnologist. Yamanashi is a rather intriguing place where the villagers believe in Yatogami, a snake god and the one Spitz’s brother was researching before his disappearance. Every villager is an devout believer and it is also the cause of the crime. Though, I do have this feeling that Mii might know where his brother is as her words towards Spitz, “Why are you here?” sounded surprised as she did gasp before realizing it was Spitz. Shepherd had vanished in this village eleven years ago. If Spitz had been coming to this village very often, she wouldn’t be that surprised to see him; meaning she probably knows where he is. Too bad it probably won’t be brought up until after the murder mystery is solved; I just hope my hunch is correct.
Onto the topic of the crime, I have narrowed down to two suspects. First is the mayor. He just seems a bit suspicious, you know? There were a lot of close ups on his face that seemed as if he was aware of the murder happening; he was also the one who arranged the social worker to stay at the guest house. He also could also have used Yatogami as an excuse for murdering the man in a way? Maybe. My second guess is Muroi, the curly haired ethnologist. He was away from the crime scene but that could make him even more suspicious. Next week is the finale and the reveal of the culprit, but it’s also Christmas, meaning it’s a Christmas present for the viewers! To be honest, this murder mystery is a bit trickier than previous cases, so I get why Toto and Spitz would struggle.
I did like the interactions between Ron, Toto and Spitz in this episode. All three of them have good chemistry. Spitz bounces off well with Ron’s antics, like wanting to try his brown sugar-dunked food and telling police officers and other villagers that Ron is his hobby friend so that he wouldn’t be seen as weird for being in the crime scene; collecting rare wrapping paper sure is a weird hobby—how did he come up with that? Toto bounces off well with Spitz too. Because they’re both detectives, they know what to do and what not to do.
I’m still amazed by the voice actor casting for this anime. Even for a side character like Spitz’s brother who had a flashback appearance, they got a high quality voice actor like Katsuyuki Konishi to voice him. Mii, the mayor’s granddaughter, is voiced by Akira Sekine; I’m most familiar with her role as Cure Sky from Hirogaru Sky Precure and her voices sounds so different here I was surprised they were the same person.
What do you think about this case? Is it a good way to conclude the season? Will there be more seasons later on; I sure hope there will be a season 2! I’m still surprised the finale will be aired on Christmas. Anyways, who do you think the culprit is?

4, 9, 12, and 26 for the writer's ask
4. What's a word that makes you go absolutely feral?
Nevertheless. It’s three words in one! The neapolitan of words!
9. Do you believe in ghosts? This isn't about writing I just wanna know?
Eh. Not so much these days, but I don't want to dismiss the existence of ghosts entirely. I do have this one memory as a kid that still haunts (ha-ha!) me to this day. I forget what age I was exactly when this happened, but it was definitely before I was 10
I remember waking up early on day that I didn't have school don't know if it was Summer or just the weekend, but I believe I was the only one up at the time. Anyway, I went downstairs to the kitchen and went over to the fridge. I don't think I ended up grabbing anything, I as just looking
Once I was done looking, I closed the fridge door and when I turned around I saw this girl standing a couple feet away from. She was pale and had long messy black hair, she was also wearing a pajama gown
She didn't say anything at all, she just looked at me and opened her mouth as a raspy moan came out. I screamed and ran back up to my bedroom and just stayed there until I heard a few other family members wake up
12. If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don't make the rules
A million good genies.
Writing wishes, eh?
1. I wish I was multilingual.
It would be nice to let characters like Fenton speak Spanish every now and then and make it sound natural. Plus it would be cool to know a language that isn’t English. (Currently I’m learning Tagalog on some language app so I hope that goes somewhere)
2. I wish I wouldn’t rush myself when I get close to finishing a WIP
Has this every happened to you? Have you ever been struggling with a WIP for a long time, just days of writing, reading, re-reading, re-writing, going over every sentence, sharing early peeks and with your beta reader(s) to get feedback on some areas, and then one day you realize that you are so close to wrapping it up but then you suddenly realize that you are SO CLOSE TO WRAPPING IT UP that you gotta finish it RIGHT NOW OR ELSE?’!

I hate it
I’m kinda the same way about reading sometimes. When I’m close to reading a story my mind reads faster at a rate where I’m not retaining the information I should be while reading. I hate it. I gotta remind myself to slow down at time
3. Built in thesaurus/dictionary in my brain
Just would be nice is all.
26. How do you get into your character's head? How do you get out? Do you ever regret going in there in the first place?
I like to rewatch clips/episodes that focus on said character or features them heavily. Besides that I will look at other roles the actor has been in as well as think about other characters that remind me of that character and look at how those characters are similar and different
And besides other fictional characters, I like to think about how I personally relate to the character. Thinking about how I feel in that situation and what my reaction would be vs. a character’s. One thing I’m always trying not to do is turn someone’s blorbo into me, because they came to see their blorbo, not me. So I love thinking about differences and stuff that I like that I think the character wouldn’t like
I admit I sometimes think about my writing too much, but eh I’m easily distracted. I just listen to music or play video game or just move on with my day
Nope. Then again I’m just getting into the heads of fun Disney characters. Not like…uh, Lisbeth Salander or someone with a messed up backstory

Life lessons lately
Hi world! It's me Khel. It's been a great opportunity to create something I never did and have been wanting to do. By the time you are reading this, you might be wondering how I am able to make a big leap from speaking to a sudden shift of me writing - in which I am not really into but as they would always say, "You will never know unless you try".
I have always been someone that is strong and people see me as a ball that bounces from all corners no matter where life takes me. Both positive and negative shifts have pinned me down lately; from deciding on things, dealing with people, cutting off bonds and to realizing my existence. If there is one thing I'd love to tell you and to ponder at all cost it's to never allow anyone to judge you by embracing the words that they used against you. Rise above it and remember your true intentions. We must know when to retreat because rising and triumphing over our struggle as quickly as possible may result in the loss of your battle. I truly believe that because a struggle is an obstacle in our lives, we ought to cherish the challenges that we confront rather than bounding through them. Now I'm learning how to correctly distort my struggles in order for them to become a solution in the not-too-distant future. My struggle represents a compass, it accurately shows the path of my life, and it serves as an inspirational figure that pushes me to take precedence over my plight.
I passed by an article about owing an apology or not and this caught me; "Particularly in today’s world, we have a busyness complex. Everyone is moving at the speed of light trying to get everything done and make everyone happy at the same time. You need a break. You need a day to sit on the couch, mold into it, and watch 12 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy in a row. Treat yo’ self". The past instance in life have taught me that If you’re not resting, you’re not healing. Plus, if you keep giving away pieces of yourself until you feel like an empty shell, consider that people don't want you half alive. They want to see you at your best. They want to feel your light. To wrap this up, “We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves, otherwise we harden.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Weaktober Day 12: Solo
“Welcome to New/SK, your hub for hot new celebrity insider information. I’m your host, Veronica Kim and on today’s extra special episode...”
Lily and Gerard adjusted their mics, fidgeting in their chairs as the interviewer started the introduction. As soon as the cameraman motioned that the camera was on them, they turned on megawatt smiles and waved to the camera, as if Lily hadn’t told Gerard she had a wedgie just a minute earlier.
“We can’t explain how excited we are to have both of you in the studio today!” Veronica started, looking genuinely thrilled to be interviewing the two. “It’s an honor.”
“I never thought I’d get to be interviewed by you, so the honor’s all mine,” Lily responded. The bright white lights of the studio were nearly blinding, but she’d grown used to seeing stars.
“Word is that you guys have known each other since middle school,” Veronica said, eyes wide.
Gerard and Lily nodded. “We shared the same biology classes,” Gerard confirmed. He scratched the area right next to his scar. “I was actually really bad at science so we used to study together.”
“I promised him I’d listened to his mixtapes if he passed the final exam,” Lily explained.
Veronica nodded thoughtfully and moved on to the next question. “Why did you two decide to do a collaboration?”
“We just thought it was funny that we were such good friends and never thought to make a song together,” Gerard shrugged. It’d been his idea, especially since he had some credit being in the band for 3 more years than Lily had been a solo artist.
Veronica leaned in conspiratorially. “How good of friends are we talking here?”
They’d been expecting that question. No one in the industry or in their fan bases simply took “close friends” at face value. Gerard had wanted to joke that they ran a harem, but Lily, who was only a year into her debut, lightly threatened to steal his kneecaps in his sleep.
“Best friends!” Lily cheered, clapping her hands together. Might as well up her aeygo while lying through her teeth. The truth was: she and Gerard had dated, but as soon as he got his record deal in highschool, the whole thing went belly-up. He was too busy and besides, going out with Slam!’s lead singer for a month was nothing compared to the gargantuan secret she was keeping on the back burner. And she certainly wasn’t about to turn around and announce on national television that Gerard had a disdain for one of his own bandmates.
The interview wrapped up and the two got up from their seats, stretching. They signed a few autographs for the crew, who expressed how much they loved the collab song. “I could feel the connection between the two exes who couldn’t resist each other,” one raved, fanning himself. “If you guys ever get together, you have my full support!” Lily and Gerard struggled not to laugh. The last thing they wanted was to respark their mutually unwanted romantic relationship.
A few minutes later, they were walking to the car from the back of the building to avoid the heavy paparazzi at the front. Not minding the complaints from their respective managers, Gerard looped his arm around Lily’s shoulders. “I told you, New/SK is no big deal.”
“Ten million people were watching that interview,” she scoffed.
“Rookie numbers,” he joked, and she grinned up at him. It was a relief to know that despite having become so famous, he was still the same guy who’d begged her to give his music a chance. He’d become confident, even more so than before.
And she wasn’t the same person who shrunk at the mere thought of performing in front of others anymore. Lily liked to think she and Gerard were partners. It was up to them to step up and show those ten million people what they were made of.
