You'll look back at your childhood, early teen years or even the eras before you that you haven't lived and take inspiration from there when it comes to your creative expressions. Might revisit old films, old forms of media, music etc too.

You'll feel detached to modern life quite a bit. I believe for a long time you've been quite cynical since even the field of creativity moves too fast being heavily reliant on content generation so you had kept your hobbies aside till now or were worried about learning anything new and allowing yourself to develop in your craft.

However, you'll have this unabashed sense of confidence which comes from simply catering to that version of you that wants to find joy and awe in the arts and whatever makes you feel less doom and gloom.

You might adopt a pet or find yourself feeling closer to animals. Also, do not worry too much about your finances. They will pick up.

Some of you might rent out a place or move into a new house.

Some of you will have prospective romantic suitors or an existing relationship will bloom slowly but with assurance.

A word of advice is to invest your money properly and not mindlessly spend it at the same time the harder you hold onto it the quicker you'll find your funds decreasing. Find a middle ground.

Detachment from what you have pushed yourself to hustle for tirelessly for so long and allowing yourself to dream, explore, rest and take it slow is going to eventually bring you what you truly want without you having to lose your sanity in the process.

Life seemed to have been filled with toil and labour that may have been showing it's adverse effects on your health. That and the need to achieve perfectionism has been constant but the results have been futile.

Either you have been working towards something you're passionate about and will see the results finally come through or you'll finally find a reason to be passionate about or something that is worth the dedication and labour you put for the long haul and you'll appraise it's results by the middle or towards the end of this transit.

You may be realizing certain connections (likely romantic) however established will not be making it. But that's okay, you'll be eager to take steps towards a new direction even if the past seems to come snapping at your feet. (Literally, take care of your legs and feet.)

You'll also eventually be pushed to become your own boss and validation. Learn and break the cycles of your own deliberate ways of self sabotage. What does that bring? That success you have previously slaved away for.

When illusions and distractions fall away, true transformation occurs. A clear mind is a gift of it's own, a power you can confidently weild. You can finally move forward without the constant anxiety of looking back.

You've been impatient for your own metamorphosis, your rewards, your blessings as well as your rebirth. The previous month's felt like someone grabbed you by the head and pushed you down in an effort to make you sink at some point, you prayed that it's done with, just so the suffocation would end. That's exactly what has happened but you don't realize it yet, but will in the coming months, the old you is gone.

Some of you may be feeling drawn to dark Goddesses (learning about them or working with them however this applies to you)

You'll be pushed in the spotlight now, unknowingly, suddenly and inevitability. The metamorphosis is complete see? You haven't noticed but the people will. You've also been worried about your family, you'll see them happy and fulfilled.

There's so much to create, to achieve, to learn, to teach, to explore to give and to receive. So don't hold back.

Sometimes realizing that what you thought brought you joy because it looked exciting and good in the pictures was sucking you dry after all, can also feel like a heartbreak or an afternoon cry under the shower. You've been sick likely and devoid of true merriment. Perhaps some of you aren't as happy with the company you keep. Good thing is, that's about to change, even though at first it may not feel like it.

There's conflict internally and externally, it might bleed into your proffesional/academic life. Is everything really supposed to be competition? How much of your authenticity have you compromised so far?

I do see you managing your finances/material life/academics/work/business etc efficiently. Finally resting, recharging and looking after your well being too.

At some point you'll encounter someone unlikely who will feel like a guiding star to you and might end up being a friend, a muse, a mentor or lover and if you're lucky, all of them in one person.

You have courage but you also have Intuition and foresight, trust it, use it. So that the joy you feel and what you celebrate next, fills your soul not just your glass.

a very incomplete list of cdramas (plus a few chinese films) i've watched and my rating for hsk proficiencies for them below the cut!

i've watched some shows that aren't included on this list, but i didn't watch enough of them to get a good sense for the level of challenge they pose, so they're omitted from the list. i've also included links to the mydramalist pages, if you want to get a sense of the plot.

i had to remove the list format, since tumblr decided i had too many characters per block of text, so i apologise for that. a number of these can be watched on youtube with english fansubs, but if you can't find something, you can always dm me and i'll get you a link!

沙海/tomb of the sea: this fits into the extended daomu biji/grave robbers' chronicles/lost tomb franchise, but you don't have to have seen the other shows or read the books to watch it, and the pov character is an outsider who also doesn't understand what's going on 90% of the time. this show is contemporary, and you could probably start watching it at a fairly low hsk level because it doesn't have a ton of complicated technical or genre-specific terms. the subbing in english decent, since it came out a while ago, but there are some errors that crop up with names and nicknames. if you wanted to watch it without subtitles, i'd say you could probably get the gist of what's being said at around an hsk 4 or hsk 5 level. it has 52 episodes, each around 45 minutes long. 双镜/couple of mirrors: set in the republican era, so some of the terms used are a bit outdated in terms of colloquialism, and it also has a mystery/detective element to it, so that could pose a bit of a struggle. that said, the show isn't actually too challenging in terms of vocab—i would say you could watch it without english subtitles at an hsk 3 level with some struggle, and with a fair amount of ease at hsk 4. 12 episodes, at 46 minutes each. 云泽传/legend of yunze: wuxia/xianxia, which makes the amount of unfamiliar terms higher if you aren't used to the genre, but the episodes are all very short, and the plot itself isn't overly complicated, which makes it easy to sit down and watch in one go. on a level of difficulty, as long as you're familiar with wuxia/xianxia terms, you could probably watch this at an hsk 2 level without too much issue, and the subbing in english is very thorough. has multiple seasons, but the first season is 12 episodes, between 3-7 minutes each. 神探/detective l: this is a procedural detective show, and it's set in the 1930s republican shanghai, so there's a combination of more formal/outdated language and specialised detective/case-related phrases. the english subs are decent, though, and the actors all enunciate clearly, which helps if you need to look up words. i would say this would probably be a bit of a struggle below the hsk 5 level, but you'll pick up a lot of new, crime-related phrases. 24 episodes, 40 minutes each. 不良执念清除师/oh no! here comes trouble!: i'll be honest, this one was a struggle for me because of the taiwanese accent. i can understand what they're saying, it just sounds like the auditory equivalent of someone coming into my house and moving everything a few centimetres to the left. this is also a procedural show, but contemporary, so not quite as challenging in terms of vocab to detective l, in my opinion..........but it's also got a heavy supernatural element, which does come with specific vocab. the subbing is good, but if you're going to watch it, this one probably requires a higher hsk level to keep up—hsk 5, at a minimum, in my opinion. 12 episodes, 52 minutes each. s.c.i谜案集/sci mystery/sci: another contemporary procedural mystery show, but from the mainland, so there's no elements of supernatural. surprisingly simple vocabulary; you could watch this at an hsk 2 level and get the gist, and an hsk 3 or hsk 4 level would let you watch it just fine. has fairly good english subs, and i believe they set the show in hk, which accounts for the higher than usual amount of english usage, up to and including in dialogue. the only bit that might make it challenging is the heavy lean into the psychology, but it's all largely explained directly, since most of the characters aren't familiar with the terms either. 24 episodes, 45 minutes each. 成化十四年/sleuth of the ming dynasty: ming dynasty (mid 1400s, under the chenghua emperor) setting, but a fairly colloquial vocabulary. there are some specialised titles used, but those are fairly self-evident by the way the show is shot, and easy enough to look up. the english subs are good, and i would put this at an hsk 4 level—but even at an hsk 3 level you probably won't struggle too badly. my hangup here was, again, one of the leads being played by an actor with a taiwanese accent, though it's not too heavy. 48 episodes, 45 minutes each. 老九门/the mystic nine: dmbj prequel, set in the tail end of the republican era (1939, if i remember correctly?). has a lot of tomb- and tomb-robbing specific vocabulary, alongside the more dated modes of speech, so i would put this up at an hsk 5 or hsk 6 level, but there's decent subs, so you could watch it at lower levels, it would just be a bit of a challenge. 48 episodes, 42 minutes each. 猎罪图鉴/under the skin: contemporary procedural show; there's a lot of emotion- and motive-specific words used, and the fact that it's a procedural makes it a bit more challenging, in my opinion. i would recommend that don't start with this show, just because of the fact that it's pretty easy to get lost if you don't grasp some of the vocabulary. i'd put it at an hsk 6 level, but that said, the subs are good and you can watch it at an hsk 5 level with some effort, i think. 20 episodes, 45 minutes each. 春风沉醉的夜晚/spring fever: honestly not as challenging in terms of vocabulary as a lot of things on this list, and fairly contemporary (set in the 2000s). i would say if you're at an hsk 4 level, you will probably do alright with it. 116 minutes in total. (mdl link)

关于我和鬼变成家人的那件事/marry my dead body: another case of struggling to acclimate to the taiwanese accent; otherwise, not too complicated in terms of vocab, though there are some spirit/marriage-specific terms used. overall, though, i'd put this at an hsk 4 level as well. 130 minutes in total. (mdl link)

陈情令/the untamed: heavy on the wuxia/xianxia elements, so unless you're familiar with that, you might struggle a lot to get through it. this is a lot of peoples' entry into cdramas, though, so it's not utterly inaccessible, and has decent english subs. i would put this around an hsk 5, if you want to watch it without subs, though you'll probably still have to pause and look up some words here and there even then. 50 episodes, 45 minutes each, making it the longest on this list. 山河令/word of honour: arguably the hardest on this list, i would say, because it's so plot-heavy. i, as a native speaker, struggle to follow along with this for extended amounts of time because there's a combination of 1. a lot happening, 2. a lot of wuxia terms, and 3. a lot of references to literature/art/etc. i would put this up at an hsk 7 level, honestly. that said, the subs for this are very good. 36 official episodes with a 37th mini-episode, 45 minutes each for the regular ones. 天官赐福/heaven official's blessing: one of the easier shows on this list; i would put this at an hsk 3 or hsk 4 level; there's some words you probably won't know, but while it does fall under xianxia, it doesn't go into that as much in terms of vocabulary as cql/the untamed does. i believe both seasons have both official subbing and official dubbing into english available, but that's not how i watched it, and i've only seen the first season, which is 11 episodes and about 20 minutes per episode. 致命游戏/the spirealm: not particularly challenging in terms of actual vocab, but as of yet, only the first few episodes are subbed, since it came out literally this month, and the other subs are all auto-generated and.............very lacking. that said, it's a contemporary setting, and i would put this at an hsk 5 level, give or take; there are some references to folklore, but the characters research and explain or deduce the explanations of what is happening as it occurs, and you aren't left to struggle to figure it out yourself. 78 episodes, but each one is a bit under 20 minutes long, so it actually isn't that much content in total. The place to buy it right now is on eBay. You're looking for the "All Region" version. That’s the international version which has subtitles in English and Chinese. Lots of people accidentally buy the Japanese version of live action films, so let me teach you the ways not to make that mistake.

When buying you want to look for these two things (1) does it say All Region, Region all, or Reg All? If so, you’re good. It has English. And (2), look at the cover. The All Region version has writing in Japanese, English, and Chinese on the cover. It should say “LIVE ACTION THE MOVIE” in dramatic yellow. If it passes test 1 and 2, you’ve chosen well. Carry forth and watch these talented Revengers. The below link I included is for the All Region DVD, but it might get gobbled up by buyers eventually. In that case carry forward and eBay search “Tokyo Revengers the Movie Region All” and you’ll find one easy-peasy.

Hey everyone!

For those that don't know me, my name's Lou (she/her) and I have recently gotten back into revamping the numerous fic projects I had in my vaults and trying to get back into my writing again.

I have put out this post to say that if anyone is also in a similar situation with their own fics, I am offering my fellow fic writers to beta & alpha read fics in exchange for coming on as an alpha or beta reader for my own projects.

As a beta & alpha reader, I am willing to not only check for grammar, punctuation, spelling and formatting but also:

identify weaknesses in the plot.

identify pieces in the story where engagement was high or lacking.

identify points in the story where clarity is needed.

help develop characters (both oc & canon)

canon check pieces of information (for canonverse/compliant fics)

As a writer, I am looking for someone to help with:

Modern AUs, Human AUs, No Power AUs.

No Comfort, No Happy Ending, Major Character (Permanent) Death.

Character bashing (I do read fics that bash, but I find it hard to beta for them only because I like to discuss characters objectively - but there are exceptions, so feel free to check)

Anything that attempts to glorify or justify racism, homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, xenophobia, ableism, sexism, bigotry, abuse, r*pe or anything even remotely similar.

(feel free to check with me tho, I am open to discussion of everything except the bottom dot point)

Because I believe beta reading to be an experience that should be enjoyable and insightful for both the reader and writer, I am open to :

Discussing any ships, character arcs, or plot points that my betas personally wanted to see in the show or are very passionate about (read: this does not mean I will change my entire story but that I am open to possibilities)

Analysing and critiquing any of the above media (read: NOT BASHING, but genuine analysis of how different media were handled to apply to our own form of writing)

Okay, Let's knock something off your list!

I've been teasing this all weekend so let's have a look at Anthony deciding to teach Kate how to knead some dough. Alexa, play unchained melody

It was obscene. Kate knew it was. She knew she shouldn't get such satisfaction out of watching Anthony work but there was just something about it. There was something about the way his muscles flexed as he let the dough fall against the bench, something about the way the flour sat against his skin and his fingers threaded through the dough as he worked it. Something about the way he let out soft grunts and groans she was sure he wasn't aware of and she just couldn't keep her eyes off it.

He'd started filming his little baking videos almost accidentally. Daphne had taken a video of Anthony, grinning as he made his signature bee buns, just after the bakery had opened and it had exploded on the bakery's Instagram. And over time, once he'd realised what good publicity they were they appeared more and more. And Anthony's shirt disappeared altogether. He was there, oiled up, his hair held back by a cap he had on backwards, smiling at the camera with floured handprints over his chest as he worked the dough, smiling as he ground his hips at the same time, captions giving baking tips

The first time he'd handed his phone to Kate and said-

"Can you help me pick some music?"

She'd nearly fallen over when she'd seen it.

Her mouth had fallen open as she'd stared at it.

"What the hell is this?"

Anthony had shrugged, "I'm teaching people to bake at home, it's good for the bakery." Then he'd smirked, "Plus, I get some very thirsty DMs."

"You're disgusting."

"Hey, the ladies love me! Men too actually but those offers I politely decline."

She'd shaken her head and picked the music and tried not to feel the jealousy in her chest, even if she'd watched his videos later and let heat burn in her stomach.

But now she didn't feel any reason to hide her appreciation. Not now every one of his baking videos ended with her reaction to whatever he'd made for her, and the imprint of her lips in lipstick against his chest.

Every time he baked, whether, for a video or not, she set up residence at the kitchen counter, her chin resting on her hands as she watched him work, staring at his hands as they slipped through the dough, his muscles flexing.

She was watching him now, smiling at her as he spoke, "I'm nearly done, babe. I just need to make a quick loaf."

She watched him cover his hands in flour and turn the dough out onto the marble countertop, her throat already a little dry as she stared at him, with his gym shorts low on his hips and his hair still damp from the gym.

"Shirt off." She said, touching his arm to catch his attention.

Anthony rolled his eyes "Shameless." But he pulled his shirt over his head regardless, and almost instantly Kate felt her stomach drop, felt her mouth go dry and heat burn through her fingertips as he started working the dough.

She could feel Anthony's eyes burning into her, the smirk on his lips as he watched her stare at him, pausing to catch her attention.

"My eyes are up here, kitten."

She rolled her eyes. "I wasn't watching you, I was just thinking how that looks so easy I could do it myself."

Anthony chuckled, "Come and show me then."

"I wouldn't want to show you up."

Anthony shook, his head, reaching out for her hand, tugging her around the countertop. "Oh I insist."

"Fine." Kate said primly trying back her hair, washing her hands and sinking her hands into the dough a little awkwardly, pushing it against the countertop.

Anthony chuckled in her ear and she whirled around "That's the best you can do? Here, let me show you."

He stepped forward until his hips sandwiched hers against the front of the counter, his strong arms wrapping around her waist, his fingers intertwined with hers.

Kate couldn't breathe. Her body was engulfed by Anthony's his breathing stuttering against her ear, every noise he made vibrating through her chest as his hands guided her, the soft dough sinking between their fingers. She could feel his muscles bulging against the strip of bare skin between her sports bra and her leggings, feel them flexing against her arms. Her entire body was on fire, every inch of her was on fire as Anthony huffed in her ear and their bodies rocked together. She could feel every beat of his heart against her as the seconds ticked on and his hips ground against hers in time with their movements and-

Kate let out a frustrated growl, reaching back and knocked his cap from his head , her fingers twisting in his hair and dragging his lips down to hers.

Anthony let out a desperate moan as their lips met roughly, their teeth clashed together and his tongue slipped filthily into her mouth. Anthony hands fell to her waist, abandoning the dough completely, though his fingers left smears over her skin as he tugged her up onto the kitchen counter, his arms flexing deliciously around her.

His lips fell to her neck with a rough grunt, his teeth nipping at the skin there, bruising her gently, marking her skin for her. His hands felt sticky against her skin, still covered in dough, marking her skin as well, marking her clothes as he groped at her, her own hands pulling his closer, encouraging him, leaving traces of dough through his hair and over his chest.

"Fuck, Kate."

She loved moments like this, when he forgot to be self-conscious of his voice, which she thought was ridiculous anyway. The rough, velvet quality shuddered down her spin as Anthony's hips bucked roughly against hers, a question burning in his dark eyes.

Kate nodded, both of their hands fumbling at the same time, his on her leggings, hers on his shorts tugging them down before she tugged him onto the counter after her.

They were so in sync, just like always, his hands spinning her quickly so her back was pressed against his front, straddling his lap, and Kate's eyes rolled back in her head from the first grind of his hips. The pace was relentless already, one of Anthony's muscled arms wrapped around Kate's waist like a tight band, holding her in place, encouraging her hips against his. His other hand tilted her chin backwards to meet his lips, his tongue moving against hers in time with their hips.

Tension was thick in the air around them, the marble countertop cold underneath them making her shiver against the eat of their bodies. Anthony's desperate moans in her ear pushed her further and further forward, closer and closer to the end. His hips bucked roughly against hers as she gripped his hair tighter, a growl tearing free from his throat.

Her lungs were burning, and her shoulders were heaving and sweat clung to their bodies, and Anthony's body engulfed hers and-

"Oh Fuck, Anthony!"

His lips were pressed against her throat as she fell apart, a satisfied moan rising in Anthony's throat as he felt the vibrations of his name on her lips as she shuddered against him. His own hips stuttered twice more until he fell apart with a sharp shout and she collapsed back against him.

Knock Knock Knock

Kate startled at the sound, Anthony's watch buzzing against her skin with the notification someone was at the door. Her head shot up, disentangling herself from Anthony who groaned, his fingers still trying to grip at her.

"No. We should go again."

Kate kissed him quickly, "As lovely as that was, that's my sister and her wife and... I don't know how they'll feel about us fucking on the kitchen counter while they wait."

Anthony dragged himself off the counter, huffing as Kate tugged her leggings back into place, pettily tugging his own shorts up, grinning around a little smugly at their kitchen in an absolute mess.

Half the dough had slid to the floor, the other half smeared over the counter, flour covering both of them.

Knock knock knock

"Clean this up." Kate gestured desperately rushing towards the front door where newton was already barking loudly, trying to brush flour and dough from her skin as she pulled the door open.

"Hey. What's up?"

Edwina stared back at her with her eyebrow raised, rolling her eyes as she stepped inside. Josie bit back a smirk.

"Hey, Kate. Busy morning?"

Kate shrugged, her cheeks burning, trying not to sound too breathless. "I um- Anthony and I went to the gym earlier."

"I can see that." Edwina sighed gesturing at Anthony s they made their way into the kitchen.

His cheeks were bright red and his hair was sticking up on 40 directions dough caked into it as he scraped more off the counter.

"You better not be serving that for brunch."

Anthony grinned awkwardly, "I'm starting again."

"Great." Edwina said, "I'll take Kate away so she doesn't distract you and end up with a yeast infection, which seems likely at this point."

List of current fandoms and corresponding AUs (under the cut):

Monday Fight Rankin (possibly an ex-name) - Ghost Town

Based on the lore around spirits. The main characters are chilling in a once-abandoned village (possibly fishing-based, but I haven't decided.) now inhabited by spirits called Ghost Town (literally). Mostly hidden from the rest of the world to prevent disruption of their peace, but regularly interact with the regular human-inhabited village nearby.

Rainworld: Hearth AU

Set around/after the Saints campaign, a still living iterator managed to move on from the Triple Affirmative, now taking care of a slugcat and scavenger colony, and is trying to rally other groups under her since y'know, the world is a freezing wasteland now.

Undertale- Tingetale

A hidden monster village on the surface managed to survive due to the power of said tinged souls but ended up getting discovered after the underground monsters were freed, now they have to adapt to modern society, or rather had.

Homestuck- Aphtraldis

Trolls are a bit different now, especially the hemospectrum/caste system, part of a group of species called Cinerians and are related to Carapacians through this.

Traditional trolls mostly exist in folklore only, as the Duskhorned.

Solarballs- Rhamnousian System

Set in the far future, in a red giant system, if you check the etymology of Rhamnousia, there are extra hints for lore. Otherwise, they are just chilling as the universe slowly dies.

Flatland- 6 Pals Perspective

Over many years in the past, some flatland refugees managed to escape the 2nd dimension, eventually accumulating. This resulted in the first flatlander village in the 3rd dimension being founded. The story is from the perspective of 6 kids in this village of varying shapes, from a triangle to an octagon. The biggest difference here is the saying "once a line, always a line" no longer holds in the 3rd dimension, the once lines collapsing into simply slimmer versions of shapes (painfully if they weren't born that way), like an in-between of Flatland the Movie and the Film, and everyone is somewhat irregular due to not being built for 3rd-dimensional gravity. Clinical irregularity, (not important anymore either, unless related to something like scoliosis or developmental issues) starts around a 10° deviation but also depends on side amount, basically if it looks lopsided enough, it's lopsided.

Dayshift at Freddys - N/A

Not quite a full AU but an idea where everything stays around the same, except there's a character that can interact with and get possessed by the kiddie ghosts willingly. She has to avenge their deaths or get pestered by them for the rest of her life, which would've been cut short already had The Incident leading to the ghost-seeing been successful.

DND - Whatever the DM (my classmate) calls it

A goblin ex-cleric monk (who became a monk because of going through the grilled cheese dimension) named Ooga Booga with freakishly high stats.

And my personal favorite, a tabaxi warlock named Dog who is JUST A KID and WORSHIPS A RAT, he hasn't been used yet actually but guy is literally a poor little meow meow, I got some sad lore for the two of em (even the patron) but I'll reveal that eventually ;) ALSO IN THE GROUP HES IN THERE A GUY THAT SACRIFICES CHILDREN SO PRAY FOR HIM-

Warrior Cats - Fellowship(s) of the Ming(ming)

OH MY GOD HOW COULD I FORGET THIS MY WHOLE SHTICK IS CATS-

Cats live in groups called Fellowships, which are further divided into smaller groups called Sects. There are only two Fellowships, those who live in the west of a mountain called the Nightlongers (not the final name including the other one, it's called that because the mountain blocks any sight of the actual sun for a while), and those who live in the east part are called the Daybracers (I think you can connect the dots)

Fashion Politics

Prompt: Describe one article of clothing that interacts with your gender and one other social identity.

I picked my novelty earrings and how they signify my gender as a femme nonbinary person and my sexuality and how my whiteness determines how other people perceive me because of them (i.e. seeing me as retro, fun, and quirky instead of gaudy or "ghetto."). 1.5k words (5 pages).

Score: 100%

Viking Mythology

Prompt: Write a short assignment analyzing a piece of media that contains Medievalism (the utilization of Medieval elements or ideas in modern media) and how it abides by and differs from the original Norse myths, as seen in the Poetic and Prose Eddas and other course readings, such as Adam of Bremen and the Merseburg Charms.

I wrote about Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard and how it is surprisingly accurate to the original source material, with only a few creative liberties taken. The ending is a list of bullet points trying to convince my professor to read the books (he said he was interested). 887 words (about 3 pages).

Score: 100%

World Religions

Prompt: Write about how a course reading reflects a) the mythological dimension, and b) one other dimension described by Ninian Smart.

I chose Hadith 2 from Muslim scripture because I had to analyze it for a separate assignment and was already familiar with it. 914 words (3 pages).

Score: 94% (no comments describing why points were deducted, but I cranked it out in like 3 hours, so, yeah, I didn't go as deep into it as I could have.)

I also had a personal essay for this class that I will not share with anyone but my mutuals because it contains personal information.

Language In Culture

Prompt #1: Analyze a recorded interview with a friend for meta-communicative tools. The interview in question is supposed to be 10 minutes in length and the interviewer is meant to ask one of two questions.

I interviewed someone whose anonymity I will maintain by using the pseudonym "Perry." The question I chose to ask was, "What was a strong disagreement you had with a close friend?" Our conversation was about the sexism of one of Perry's friends, and I argued that she relied upon the two of us sharing the identities of being AFAB and being raised in countries colonized by Britain (the USA for me, India for her). 1.3k words (4 pages).

Score: 98%

Prompt #2: Examine non-human characters in an animated film for their voices and determine what the audience is supposed to understand about the characters through their accents, use of vernacular, vocal pitches, etc.

I looked at Zootopia and discussed the characters Mr. and Mrs. Hopps, Gideon Grey, Fru Fru, and Finnick. Specifically I examined how rhoticity (the pronunciation of the letter "r" anywhere but the beginning of the word) is used within the film in Gideon's southern accent, Fru Fru's New Jersey/New York accent, and Finnick's blaccent.

Score: 97% [deducted points for some valid reasons and also because I said "blaccent" instead of African-American (Vernacular) English (AAE or AAVE), even though a blaccent can exist outside of the context of AAE.]

Japanese Culture (Intro Class)

Prompt: Go crazy go stupid just write a well thought-out paper about an aspect of Japanese culture we learned about in class.

I decided to write about how religious iconography is presented in the anime Blue Exorcist because I'm lame asf. My thesis was that the use of imagery in the story is propagandist because it portrays Japan as religiously unified, which it is historically not (of course, there's a lot more nuance that I'm not going to get into and some that I frankly couldn't even discuss in the essay itself.) Including the abstract, footnotes, and bibliography, 2.5k words (7 pages of actual content).

Score: 95% (comments not provided, but I probably deserved it because there's, again, a lack of nuance.)

I wrote other papers, too, but these were the major ones. I go to a relatively prestigious state school that has a large student population, great sports and academic programs (especially for STEM, which I am not in), and a reputation for being a party school. Favorite Online Fandom Memory: I don't think I've ever been in a Fandom™ per se. It's usually just, sitting in my dark lair and enjoying a thing with a handful of other people. But, if it counts since it's the closest to interacting with Fandom I've had: these past (4?) years on tumblr in general. From the months-long (sometimes years-long) discussions about this or that piece of media and the insightful observations traded, the juicy meta, the joy and privilege of people sending you unfinished pieces of their art and writing through DMs (the trust and intimacy of it all!!!), sending each other memes and posts we think the other might enjoy, the nice messages, etc... all of it really.

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: Am baby and haven't really experienced this yet.

Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: I literally can't choose because almost everything I love is some flavour of weird-ass-obscure thing! But uhmmm, *flips through enormous tome of interests* : Here! Rule of Rose ! I was starving for psychological horror games after the Silent Hill series and this is the closest I've ever seen to them while also not being just a rip off/clone of SH, and telling its own beautifully tragic story (the combat is broken and there's other issues but everything else, maaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn).

Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: I will draw Rumata and Budach's Conversation™ from chapter 8 in full, in comic form, skill to pull it off and do it justice or not, EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!

interesting, you think she'd get backlash for releasing music? i feel like that's about the only thing she can do right now that WON'T receive backlash, but i guess i can see where you're coming from - this would be mere weeks after 1989 TV, fans might get upset if they went to tour and didn't get TS11 included or if she suddenly changes the set list (i have this unfounded paranoia about her removing the lover set because she thinks the fans hate that album, and if she doesn't want to perform it anymore because of personal reasons :/), if there were variants right after the film and 1989, people are going to be unhappy with the financial aspect (i think this is a bit silly because no one is making anyone buy them, but we know it happens), accusations of oversaturation/attention seeking will continue, but...idk. it's DM so the likelihood of it being true is low, but not impossible.

i will say i didn't expect her to release anything beyond the remaining re-recordings while on tour, but this specifically mentions it being a surprise drop, which, to me, indicates it's something she prefers to keep more low-key than a big new rollout would be (if this is true). so maybe it's a sad/reflective/more subdued record that she just wants to put out there and not dwell on as much. or maybe the clowns are correct and it actually will have something to do with 1989 and it's vaults/b-sides/collabs, because that would be really cool, a fun surprise, entirely new to us, wouldn't change eras, and wouldn't require an extended rollout or be too affected by the first week sales rules for billboard. you always have to look at how blinds are worded (for example: "two more albums in progress" could still be rep tv and debut tv, it doesn't specify "new" or anything further). just things to consider in possibility!
