im reading your pieces on the girls in austins life and even though I think everyone can be problematic in a way,in public or privately,, v and a were very much liked by the GP and internet fandoms despite the questionable things she couldve said or done.

oh for sure. i was thinking more so current day/current fandom size now in 2023/2024. and i do think even (online) people outside of our gripe bubble as austin fans have been a little more critical of her the past couple years- though that disney kid nostalgia ‘insurance’ goes hard! and. i do think during that post priscilla movie phase where he was reallyyyy getting bombarded with ridiculous amounts of hate that people probably would have lumped “and aha! problematic gf!!” into their shit if he was still with her. i for one am glad we got to avoid that 🙏🏼

So, genuinely and respectfully, I have a question. Your previous anons about Vanessa and why people don't like Kaia got me thinking. It seems like the more hard-core fandom is split into people who like Kaia and vocally support the relationship, and people who don't like her and are vocal about thinking it's PR or that they'll break up. I have seen people who don't like her say it's PR, they're not soulmates, she's a nepo baby, etc. I've also seen people who do like her say they'll get married and have kids, and handwave away anything about her that comes across as problematic. Both sides are also very vocal about thinking the other side is delusional, from what I can tell. My question is: if they were to break up and he dated someone else, do you think Kaia's supporters would dislike the new girlfriend in the same way her detractors dislike her? I'm not suggesting that you (or anyone else) necessarily would, but your anon about Vanessa in particular made me wonder. If he dated someone else, it would be easy for people to nitpick the new person simply because she was *not* Kaia, or insist that the new relationship wouldn't last. Or call her *insert negative personal attack here* in comparison. I'm not saying that's what would happen, or accusing you or anyone else of anything. I'm just curious to know your thoughts on whether, if Austin and Kaia did break up, Kaia's supporters/fans specifically would dislike the new girlfriend by default. This is more of a psychological 'let's put on our how women treat women in the social media sphere goggles' type of question than anything else, but I just wondered if you had thoughts.

me personally, while i'd be bummed if they split bc i really like them together- anyone austin was with that wasn't like, genuinely problematic i'd "accept" him with. i want him to be happy more than i want him to be/not be with any one specific person. whatever that looks like- so long as it doesn't appear to be genuinely harmful or something, i'll trust his judgement calls on his own life.

whether i would make those calls myself or not. like for example, i joke a little sometimes about how the ppl who hate kaia would be throwing even bigger fits if he ended up with alana champion (a model he followed that 2021 summer he was single. no proof they were ever ~involved~, hence my being jokey about this). not bc she's a bad person- i don't dislike her personally! but bc just objectively ppl who wanted to nitpick would imo find more to nitpick. she's good friends with dasha of red scare pod fame and i just...can you imagine if austin was in that circle and we were doing red scare pod discourse on here as opposed to "kaia can't act" discourse lmfao. we got lucky! but i say that to say even so, if it was alana he found his happiness with i would've been ~fine~.

if they broke up i wouldn't endorse others being nitpicky about this hypothetical new girl if wasn't actually problematic or a "bad person". though i mean, i'm human and not without my own biases. so i think it'd take me a hot minute to "adjust" since at this point i am genuinely a fan of kaia on her own! but idk if i'd blast any of those hypothetical feelings all over in public posts as opposed to just dming my friends about it. (a self control skill i think more people could use lol!)

You are free to think whatever you want, but you should know that a lot of us hate K, regardless of who she is going to be dating. We hate her for her, not for being with Austin.

It is just especially unfortunate and frustrating that K, the talentless, privileged, spoiled, entitled nepo, is with someone as incredible and wonderful as Austin. But she deserves the hate all on her own. No Austin relationship required for that. And we will also continue to hate K after Austin finally breaks up with her.

Will you post this? Probably not. But you should at least know the reality of a number of Austin fans who sincerely hate K.

yeah i am gonna post this bc dislike, okay. i can live with that. not everyone is gonna like everyone! but hate? hating someone you don’t know, who has not done anything genuinely bigoted or high level problematic is not healthy. i very very strongly dislike vanessa/will say that she makes me *irate* at times. but i wouldn’t say i hate her because imo that’s too strong an emotion to let myself feel about someone i don’t truly know. i hate bigots. i hate people who idk, hurt kids. i don’t hate celebrities i don’t know who i feel annoyed by/only ‘know’ via assumptions and/or gossip.

i used to, way back when i ran a broadway gossip blog that was more snark blog than fan space. but it was so so unhealthy. and i wish i listened to the anons who’d call me out on it because they were right. a few months ago a guy who used to follow that blog of mine actually found me on tiktok and said he’d been wondering how i was doing bc he remembered how angry and presumptuous i was all the time on there and didn’t think it was healthy. and i told him he was right/that i shared his opinion in my own regrets about that time!

please find your peace. a celebrity you don’t know who has no effect on your life should not make you feel this way. you don’t have to give them that power over your life. i say that with love. ❤️

this is a question that's always interested me, so forgive me if you've already been asked this. but in another universe*hypothetically* if v and aus were still together do you think everyone would actually like, like them together? even with knowing that she probably didn't treat him all that nicely. how do you think our fandom would look??

speaking about the public at large and not just *my* personal opinion...i think it would've been not great for public perception. like i joke about how he was probably relieved he was #free during the whole "wellll people are gonna dieeee buttt" covid thing but. i think it is gen for the better he is still tied to someone who is like problematic-lite, and like, problematic publicly lol. though granted if they kept up the pda to the extent that it was amped up in older pap photos then maybe ppl would be willing to forgot about that haha. one thing stan twitter loves is pda pap photos of cute actors!

if she *wasn't* problematic in the ways she is i don't think i'd mind her. she's a pretty gal, and i can't knock her being WooWoo or anything like that bc i too am a woowoo girlie. i actually caught shit on here before the whole 'crying' comment debacle/the talk about her not being nice to him bc i was so neutral on her that i bordered into defending her a smidge. i know how it can "look" for fandoms of ppl of the male gender to really go to the mat against a woman in their life. but at this point, i think disliking her and disliking her *publicly* is just fine and not like, misogynist.

in terms of our fandom specifically? i think at large, if she was the same problematic girl is now that we'd mostly ignore her and that there'd be a lot of "well austin isn't her, she's her own person" talk whenever she did something dumb. with some more intense discourse if the stuff about her not being nice to him came out while they were still together.

but if this was in an AU where she's without any issues, i think the same people that are really gung ho about hating kaia would hate her too. ive said this before but while *some* of the shit k gets is directed at her individually re: her parents/her being a nepo baby...anyone he was with would have ppl who want him single up in arms for one reason or another. off topic from vanessa, but it always makes me giggle when (moreso on twitter, not here) ppl who i know are anti-kaia go on and on about missing auslivia/fantasize about them getting back together. likeeeeee. babe be fr. you would be in line to burn olivia at the damn stake if those roles were really all swip swapped. i love olivia to death, but she's objectively somewhat of a messy figure in austin land. i can vividly see all the hypothetical "austin is pushover for letting her get away with blah blah blah, she's clearly manipulating him, poor austin! boo privileged australian rich girl!" posts from the anti-girlfriends if they had worked out or gotten back together lololol. I would just assume Austin is filming. It’s mid April now, he’s gotta film is stuff sometime when they are done early May. I’m sure he’s filming and also busy preparing for everything else in life with his other movies he’s filming plus Bikeriders press coming up. He was at Palm Royale a few weeks ago for Kaia so I doubt anything is wrong. And again with the “following” stuff. Kaia likely asks him to come along if he can when he is with her places. And visa versa.

the jonah hill movie she got cast in has *been* filming in la but as far as i know she hasn’t gone back from nyc yet? at least we don’t have photos showing she has. im p sure she’s done with filming snl 1975 (and was filming in georgia in that recent photo dump) so i think she just went to nyc for funsies. side quests, if you will. i feel like i got so used to austin following her every which way when she was gone for more than a few days (and that’s not a knock! i always thought it was sweet!) that i was a little surprised his ass didn’t pop in nyc too. esp assuming he was on some sort of break from filming eddington or maybe hadn’t even gone to new mexico yet re: those pap photos in los feliz. i second whoever told deuxmoi yesterday that they want proof of life of them together lol! maybe i wouldn’t use thatttt serious of a term, but it has been a hot minute since we got even a spotting…y’all show yourselves. in the same room.
