Alrighty! @number-one-shadisper-shipper and I binged the Knuckles series today, so time for thoughts! SPOILER ALERT.
I'll admit the show wasn't perfect. I've seen the negative reviews, and I kinda get where they come from. BUT! I did enjoy this show greatly! And I'm not here to complain. Time for some happy thoughts, y'all! 💙🤩
I think you need to have a love, not just tolerance, for the SCU in order to properly enjoy this show. I do have such, so I had a lot of fun with it.
There were definitely scenes from every episode that had me either squealing, laughing, crying, or flipping out. But my favorite was likely the first episode, because come on, we saw the Wachowski family! Most of them, anyway! While I missed Tom's presence, I was grateful for that comment from Maddie about him being "out of town," so he wasn't just gone for no reason.
The SECOND it showed our three space babies hanging out together in their room?! I SCREAMED. THE BOYS!!!!
Tumblr media
Tails sitting on his bed tinkering with one of his gizmos, Sonic rocking out to music with an air guitar, and Knuckles exercising from one of the ceiling planks. IT'S THEM!!! They're just hanging out, doing their thing, looking oh so much like brothers. And Sonic's narration at the beginning was GOLD. 🤣💙
Even though we didn't get enough of Maddie being a parent, we definitely got a nice chunk for it only lasting part of an episode. Maddie called Knuckles "one of our kids" (that had me SCREECHING). The angry mama vibes were GOLDEN. 🤣 The way she made breakfast for them, the "Boys, breakfast is ready!" I love the normalcy of it! Can't wait to see more in the future! (Her calling to them with "boys" is somehow just the sweetest thing and I'm melting.)
The poor mailman being like "I just wanna go home, man" 🤣
We were right, fellas, Knuckles had no idea what being grounded meant. 🤣 Although the way Sonic piped up with "Oh, I definitely know what it means," has me suspecting that Sonic himself has gotten grounded a decent amount before. 😂
Knuckles trying to talk back, and Maddie going, "ExCUSE ME?!" then just making those tiny, terrifying noises and Sonic being like "Bro don't mess with Mom when she's mad" (okay, he didn't say "mom" and that made me sad, but the mom vibes were 110% there so I'm here for it). 😂 And since Knuckles snuck out and later Wade said, several times, "Aren't you grounded?" seems to confirm that this entire show is basically what Knuckles does when he's grounded. 🤣 Although ... his comment about not being able to be grounded because he had no home made me very sad. 😭
I did not have an issue with so much Wade screentime! Sure, he isn't my favorite SCU character, but I love what this show did with him! I'd already seen his moments in the movies (like nearly shooting Robotnik in the face with an actual handgun). I like how they gave him actual family issues; a dad who abandoned him and his family, a realistic sister, a mom. Bad family memories. Awkward reunions. They could've made it a joke, but they didn't, and I greatly appreciate that. Especially since I've witnessed firsthand how painful family separations can be. 😔
All the emotional talks Wade and Knuckles had caught me off guard in the best way! The way they talked about their different family issues, the way they talked of betrayal from friends, and being left alone, hit way harder than I was prepared for. Especially that talk they had at the burger place in the middle of the night? Oof. Good talk right there.
Also, even though they took a "show don't tell" take with it, I loved how Knuckles relaxed more and more throughout the show. In the beginning, he couldn't rest, he couldn't sit back and have a genuine good time. But the more he hung out with Wade and his family, the more he learned. He learned about music and found "his jam" (that was literally amazing btw). He watched movies with Mrs. Whipple and ate snacks in the hotel room in Reno and watched more movies. He had his teenager moments of rolling his eyes and rebelling, but he was so well portrayed here, I loved it. I felt for him.
Despite the bizarre nature of the episode "Flames of Disaster," (we were cracking up so hard) I'm trying to glean bits of the truth of Knuckles's story from the crazy musical play that Pachacamac put on in Wade's dream. I mean, "Longclaw" and her tribe were there, and ... what the heck was that giant demon thing?! Iblis?! Does our Knuckles Wachowski have an actual history with freaking Iblis?!?! 😱🔥
I was deeply intrigued by the two main antagonists, especially at the implication that G.U.N. did seem to exist before the events of the first movie?! Did it exist, get disbanded after the Maria incident, then get reformed?! My brain is exploding. 🤯 I was even more shocked that they apparently died? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, the Wachowski kids don't seem to have much qualms about getting rid of the baddies for good as the game versions do. That was a terrifying phenomenon, what happened with the two rings. 🫣
And then the Buyer getting crushed by the giant glass ball 👀
Although in those last two episodes, I admit I was freaking out and legitimately near tears at Wade's seemingly having to "betray" Knuckles. Before the reveal that all was in good communication, all I could think was how relaxed Knuckles finally seemed, chilling in the hotel room, being excited about whatever Wade wanted to "show" him, questioning whether it was a song, him declaring that he was going to bring his favorite hat, 🥹 all I could think was of their previous discussions about betrayal from friends and family, and when Knuckles called Wade "my friend" right before the elevator doors closed, I just about sobbed. I was like "please, don't let him be betrayed, don't let him have come all this way and relaxed so much only to get 'betrayed' once again by someone he's come to consider a friend." 😭 We heaved a HUGE sigh of relief when it revealed he was aware of the trap the whole time. 😪
Maternal instincts went nuts when he got so badly hurt in that final battle 😭 I literally reached for the screen several times and was right back to almost weeping 🥲 And someone tell me I wasn't the only one noticing the parallel in that scene with Wade standing in front of his unconscious body the way Tom did with Sonic in the first movie. That, PLUS Knuckles's epic comeback, and his retrieval of his own power?!?! EPIC!!!!
The ending was abrupt, sure, but the pure joy on Knuckles's face after everything as he jumped up to high five Wade was just too sweet. 🥹
Tumblr media
So yes, even though I would have loved just a little more, a return to Green Hills, a reunion with Maddie, Sonic, and Tails, I adored this show. It was a wild ride, full of laughs, tears, excited screeching, etc. 💙💛❤️ I don't care what anyone says, nothing will make me hate it.

No but seriously, I'm fully aware that beating the shit out of an abuser without their victim explicit consent is not going to help said victim in any way and I'm also aware that in the context of The Godfather it's also yet another example of a profundly patriarcal society/culture in which women are seen as extention of their family and where slights against them are therefore considered a slight against their male relatives but like…That scene were Sonny beat the absolute shit out of Connie's piece of trash husband is honestly one of my absolute favorite moment in cinema history, I'm cheering and clapping everytime like fuck yeah Sonny, bite this motherfucker!

Okay. Let's talk Jamie and Roy getting beers and being idiots.
I know we are all still processing that whirlwind of a finale. I'm understanding that a lot of people hate the Roy & Jamie scene because it is 1) backslide-y (true) 2) they treat Keeley like a prize to be won (true) and 3) it's OOC (I actually disagree with this one, but I can understand why it's complicated). I want to start off by saying I completely see where this opinion is coming from and I respect everyone who just hates the scene because it shows normally kind characters being very unkind to each other etc. This is less me arguing against that as it is me trying to articulate (at great length, sorry) why it not only worked for me, but I genuinely liked it.
I like to think I strike a balance between loving everything the show has done and hating overwhelmingly on a show I claim to enjoy, but sure, you could definitely argue that I'm just giving my favorite characters the benefit of the doubt, or making excuses for them, because they're my favorite characters. I'll admit I'm historically very forgiving of all the main characters' many fuck-ups on Ted Lasso, but that's because I think the show works best when it emphasizes how kindness, forgiveness, friendship and love can still operate between imperfect, flawed people. I like seeing them make realistic mistakes much more than I like everyone handling everything perfectly, I'll bite.
So, back to Jamie and Roy. I enjoyed their finale plot because despite them making a world of mistakes, the regression felt very, very human. I don't agree at all with the take that this somehow erased all the progress they've made this season or the friendship the show has lovingly crafted between them. In fact, I think this actively reiterated it! (Note: I am operating with my ot3 goggles on at all times, so I'm going to write this with that at least partially in mind, but I think the gist of it works even if you ignore the bits that get a little shippy.)
For both Jamie and Roy, Keeley and their love for her is a major beacon guiding them. I think that is the crisp, clear thing in both of their heads this episode: Keeley is the love of my life. And they both believe that wholeheartedly, and they both want to be with her. (and it's goofy to pretend this came out of nowhere for Jamie/since when is Jamie still in love with her/etc. because he literally told her and us this last season and nothing that has happened since has indicated otherwise, btw.) But there's also something else now, which is their relationship with each other, battling with their Keeley thoughts. It's like, in Roy's head, for instance, I imagine there are two wolves: on the one hand he loves Keeley, and wants to be with her, and plans to win back her heart. On the other hand, there's his love and care for Jamie Tartt, which is much less defined and inarticulate and maybe still a little repressed, but just as overpowering. His love for Keeley feels so simple and clear in comparison, while his love for Jamie is something complicated and unsure, and in this episode, he's leaning hard into the first to avoid unpacking the second.
So Roy starts off strong. He sees Jamie with Keeley in the hallway and he doesn't flip out!! Instead, he approaches Jamie calmly, and invites him out for beers. Think about how different this is from his reaction to Jamie's love confession to Keeley in season 2. This is Roy's growth in action, and it's a resounding sign of just how important Jamie is to Roy now. Even when he is feeling jealous of the woman he loves potentially leaving him behind for a man he loves (a completely natural reaction, let's be so real, if not a "good" one), he also knows that for as much as he wants to be with Keeley, he doesn't want to lose his friendship with Jamie.
As for Jamie, I know some people took his reaction and subsequent response to Nate's question as like, shock at the realization that he and Roy are actually friends now, which I agree is something that had to have come earlier in the timeline (what was Mom City if not that) and would seem very out of place at this point. What I saw it as instead was Jamie's brain more just. sort of short-circuiting? Because: holy shit isn't this the best day ever? First Keeley agreed to go to Brazil with me and now Roy is asking me on a date for beers? this is so sound. This invite is out of place behavior from Roy even within the parameters of their friendship, because they still have a match to win and Roy has banned Jamie from beers as part of his training and despite them being close now I find it hard to believe that Roy often comes up to him right there in dressing room to ask him to grab a beer with no pretense.
Therefore, they're already walking into that bar in completely different head-spaces. Jamie isn't planning to discuss Keeley, and for Roy that is his major intention behind the evening. Jamie is nervous and downing his beer, and Roy is internally panicking, I'm imagining, over when and how to bring Keeley up. I think Roy is thinking: Well, I don't intend to stop pursuing Keeley, I genuinely don't want Jamie's feelings to be hurt when I get back together with her (and yes, it is a huge presumption for him to assume Keeley's going to eventually take him back. But I think it's also an understandable one), so I've got to tell Jamie I care about him, and that I'm going to keep going after Keeley, and he needs to be okay with that so that this won't get in the way of our friendship, which I also desperately need and am unwilling to give up. In his mind, Jamie is of course going to accept all of this, because Roy and Keeley are soulmates, which Jamie will clearly recognize deep down because it is so obvious and right and anyway, Jamie always does what Roy tells him to do (again, this is all misguided thinking. But we can see how Roy's anxious little brain that's bad at processing feelings and holding space for emotions could get himself here, can't we?).
So again, we start off strong with Roy saying he's proud of Jamie and them both thanking one another. But then Roy's blurting out nonsense about how Jamie just needs to pull himself out of the running and just let Roy be with Keeley. Which is obviously not on. And Jamie responds, simply, with No. I'd argue this is also a huge step for Jamie. Jamie really doesn't tell Roy no anymore, he doesn't tell anyone no. Jamie has spent so much of his time since coming back to Richmond working to be the person everyone around him wants and expects him to be. This is him fighting for something he wants for once, doing what is best for him. It was a fabulous progression to see. In the moment, boy does it work Roy up, because why is Jamie not agreeing with me, Jamie always agrees with me? but obviously at this point, Jamie is in the right. His relationship with Keeley was no less meaningful than Roy's just because Roy says it was, Roy doesn't have any claim on her, and there's no real reason Jamie should not try and shoot his shot with Keeley if Roy is going to do the same.
Here's where things start to spiral. Established flaws we know about Roy: he's competitive. He's bad at voicing his feelings productively. And he is territorial about the people he loves, a category that safely includes both Jamie and Keeley at this point in time, for better and sometimes worse. Yes, his next actions are grossly possessive over Keeley, yes Roy has made a lot of effort over the past year to do and be better than that, to break free of that cycle. But look, it's not a linear process. He's going to still mess up, and he does here. In fact he's downright mean, weaponizing Keeley against Jamie and throwing having sex with Keeley a month ago into Jamie's face, bragging about it, boasting. Same old cycle, same old patterns of ego-driven, prideful mistakes.
Which promptly prompts Jamie to also fuck up by bringing up the leak. It's a concentrated response intended to get a suitable rise out of Roy, because Roy has really, genuinely hurt him here, and Jamie knows bringing up that video is the one thing that will hurt Roy just as much in turn. It's not the right thing to do, obviously, but again, it's such a human thing to do. Hurt the person who's hurt you right back, even if you're hurting someone else (Keeley) by extension. Mind you, Jamie came here expecting a hangout (/date) with Roy over a rare beer, and instead he got Roy being a complete asshole and lecturing nonsense at him out of seemingly nowhere. He reacts to this change-up, well, not greatly. There is something so messy and emotionally complicated happening here and it hinges on how very much Jamie and Roy care about each other, not negates it.
Keeley, queen that she is, rejects them both out of hand and kicks them out not the curb immediately because they're both being complete idiots, acting like they're so gracious in giving her the honor and privilege of choosing between them. Not to mention they've clearly got something going on between them they haven't worked through and that sure as shit isn't her problem, is it? Keeley (presumably, and I wish we had seen this) calls them out their shit and tosses them right back out the door.
Which leaves Jamie and Roy to lament how they've let their egos get away from them, they've been idiots (which they acknowledge immediately) and decide that now they should go for kebabs, presumably to actually hangout this time, not to interrupt themselves with inflated talk about who "deserves" Keeley more. They both screwed up, they acknowledge it, and all they can do is try again tomorrow, and in the meantime, go on that kebab date.
I guess....I can just see where both of them are coming from? it's not mature behavior, obviously, it's maybe not what we would have liked to have seen from them in the finale episode of the show. But it was regression that I didn't feel impeded their overall progress. Roy in particular was being a complete dick about it, but that's why the very next morning he's finally knocking on the Diamond Dogs' door. And honestly, that conversation was heartbreaking. When Roy admitted he'd expected, after a year of putting in the work, to be a whole new person...god. This is a man who still completely hates himself, to the point where he can't quite grasp that he can be better where he's at now, that he doesn't have to transform magically into someone new in order to do right by himself and others. And so he has to consciously determine, once again, to do better, be better.
The message is: change isn't linear, you're going to fuck-up, and fall back into old patterns. What matters is trying every day to do better together, and be better for one another, than you were the day before. That is the meeting point all three sides of the royjamiekeeley triangle were heading towards by the end of the episode.
So yes, it was rushed, because no one gets much screen time in a finale (and the overarching issue with this season anyway is god awful pacing. The last three episodes could've easily been the second half of the season, while the first half of the season was stretched out and largely extraneous). And yes, I would've liked a more thoughtful follow-up conversation between Roy and Keeley or all three of them. My biggest issue was that we didn't get to hear Keeley's voice hardly at all. I would at the very least have liked to have seen her setting them straight at her kitchen table, because turning both of them down signifies very important growth in her, too, and I would've liked exploring that more explicitly. So it wasn't perfect. But I still liked it, I really did.

Can I have an post about NCT Mark's reputation in the industry or his ideal type? P.S You're legit look like a 90s superstar💌💖💖 don't be shy and drop your skincare routine please 🙏
WHY ARE NCTZENS BEING SO NICE TO MEEEE, THIS IS LIKE THE 2ND COMPLIMENT I'VE GOTTEN THANK YOUUU 😭💚 Ofc since we did TY Track I don't see why I can't do one for Mark 🦁
Mark from NCT's ideal type:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Qualities
I channeled: "Hmm... What do I like in a partner?" I think Mark hasn't really thought about what important qualities a partner should have and more so has thoughts about appearance or personality.
Mark would be interested in someone similar to him or someone with similar values, habits, or behavior as him, but with a more elevated mindset.
He could want to do date someone who is also a musician or a writer. I feel like Mark is curious about the twin flame dynamic? He could want to feel a connection with someone on a deeper level. Telepathy? Mark is wanting a partner who could read his mind and emotions so that way he doesn't always have to explain himself. Someone who is very aware and observant. A partner that eases his anxiety or relieves him of his everyday stress. He could also like if his partner was more optimistic and looked on the bright side of things because Mark can have a more "realistic" outlook on life.
Tumblr media
Personality
I'm ngl... Mark has a toxic taste in partners LMAO 💀 I just feel that he wants someone who keeps him on his toes and he hates predictability. Like if his partner was too "normal" or too "stable", he's gonna hate that, he's gonna feel like he's the partner with the issues, so he wants someone that can be as imperfect as him. "It's more fun that way, no?"
I'm laughing pls 😭- "I'm not saying I want my heart broken, but if she's bad then she can take it [his heart]."
Mark really does not give a fuck 😂 (btw this is the first reading I've done for a celebrity where I cannot stop giggling??? He's so funny). He also wants someone who would like call him out on his bullshit. Mark doesn't want someone who's submissive or a pushover, "😁Feistyyy." It's giving: "I love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me"
Intuitively, I feel like Mark also has a lot of insecurity in his relationships as well. The partners who are healthier for him, he feels like he's not good enough for them, so instead he dates partners who are often unstable. It's okay to date someone who's more outspoken and dominant, but it seems like he's constantly attracted to partners who are too controlling towards him.
Tumblr media
Physical traits
"Honestly I have a type. I'm not the tallest so I don't wanna date anyone who's like too tall but I don't mind the height too much. I like hair, the people I've dated their hair is pretty long and if they have short hair, it's gotta be like fluffy (voluminous is the word he was looking for)." Channeled songs: Trap Queen, 679, & Again by Fetty Wap
"I'm like "Hey, what's up? Hello" (Ayy)
Seen yo pretty ass soon as you came in the door
I just wanna chill, got a sack for us to roll
Married to the money, introduced her to my stove
Showed her how to whip it, now she remixin' for low
She my trap queen, let her hit the bando
We be countin' up, watch how far them bands go"
"Baby girl, you're so damn fine, though
I'm tryna know if I could hit it from behind, though
I'm sipping on you like some fine wine, though
And when it's over, I press rewind though, ayy
You talking bands, girl, I got it
Benjamins all in my pocket
I traded in my Trues for some Robins
He playing Batman, Fetty's gon' rob him, ayy
I got a Glock in my 'Rari, ayy
17 shots, no .38"
"I want you to be mine again, baby, ayy
I know my lifestyle is driving you crazy, ayy
But I cannot see myself without you
We call them fans, though, girl, you know how we do
I go out of my way to please you
I go out of the way to see you
I ain't playing no games, I need you"
Oh he's a giverrr 😝. Mark wants for his partner to look good, so he'd go out of his way to pamper them and spoil them. Like "oh baby you want your nails done? I got youuu 😌". He likes to show off his partner. I heard "I want that Beyoncé and Jay Z love." (😭💀 Mark go sit tf down please). I love the energy tho fr.
He's mentioned girls a lot + all 4 cards are women, so he has a obvious preference towards the female gender.
Long hair
Thick, voluminous hair
All hair textures (straight, wavy, curly, etc).
Varies from pale, medium, deep, or brown skin tones.
Girls with a "mean" expression or resting bitch face (🤨😠😒)
Feline beauty
Arched eyebrows
Horizontally wider eyes
Prominent features (big nose and big lips)
Likes lipstick or lip gloss ("Juicy lips")
Someone who plays hard to get (as in a tsundere, basically acts like they don't want him but secretly does)
Shoulders and collarbones
Pretty hands
Nice ass
Likes jewelry? Rings and earrings to be specific.
Something about fabrics is coming up, so Mark could like when women wear flowy dresses or like those sheer beach cover ups.
Instagram baddie style is very apparent here.
Soft glam makeup (U.K? Black London baddie makeup. Latina makeup coming up as well.)
Mixes luxury with casual
Long acrylic nails
High heels
Painted toes
I am being reminded of that song that goes "Ion want no barbie, I want me a bratz doll "
Bratz doll type of beauty
Celebrities/influencers who are similar to his ideal type:
Juliana Nalu, Ashley Nicole King, Kali Uchís, Camo, Jordyn Woods, Yarastargal, Mia Owens, lisajn37, amandaa_solis, Cindy Kimberly, asiaeros, bbv_g6rl, 200120_01, & bybrokelle

vigilant for mammon please! love ur writing btw!! ^w^
Hi there, anon! I'm so glad you're enjoying my writing!
Okay, this one got away from me a little. As always, I'm concerned about how I write Mammon. I love him, of course, but I think I tend to make him too sweet? Anyway...
It's my own fault for putting a vague prompt like vigilant on the list lol. So this ended up being kind of canon divergent, since I was trying to incorporate my own prompt effectively.
Hopefully it's not too terrible for all that!
Thanks for the request!
Tumblr media
GN!MC x Mammon with prompt Vigilant
Warnings: none!
Tumblr media
Mammon knew that everybody thought he was a slacker. And yeah, he didn't like to work, but if it was something he was doing for a good reason, he gave it everything he had.
And you were by far the most important reason he had.
You probably thought he didn't pay any extra attention to you. You likely just went through your days, too busy with his brothers and everybody else to realize. That was okay. He wasn't doing it so you would take notice. He was doing it because he cared too much not to.
Ever since that first day you had shown up in the Devildom, Mammon had been watching out for you. Yeah, he complained about it. He made it sound like he wasn't interested, that he didn't really care about what happened to a human like you.
But none of that was true. It was all a front. He tried to convince himself it wasn't, back then. But now that you had been in the Devildom for a while, he didn't even bother trying to pretend things were any different.
You were his human. He wanted to make sure he was always there to protect you, to be vigilant, to be your guardian demon.
So he did his best to be by your side whenever he could, no matter what anybody else had to say about it. He couldn't resist the tempting pull of the casino on some nights and other times he was out doing his part time modeling gig, but he knew it wasn't realistic to think he could be with you all the time.
He made up for it by always knowing what was going on with you. If you were sad, he knew about it. If you were happy or nervous or even just hungry, he could tell. Because he had been paying attention to you for so long that he knew by your expression or the way you tapped your fingers or by the look in your eyes.
Mammon knew all of this, so how did he miss something so important?
Just when he thought he knew you so well he could always tell what you were feeling, you went and surprised him, completely out of nowhere.
It happened one day when the two of you had gone out shopping after school. He needed a few things and you wanted to tag along. It started as it always did, both of you chatting and laughing, comfortable and casual in each other's company.
The two of you had stopped for a moment on the street where there was a balcony overlooking the Devildom. In the distance, the lights of the city twinkled. You leaned against the railing, looking out at the view.
Even though things were easy, Mammon was still paying close attention, watching you as he always did.
And he noticed the second you started acting a little shy. You wouldn't look directly at him, your eyes very deliberately on anything else. He noticed, but he didn't know what it meant. He felt himself start to panic, but managed to fight it down.
He leaned casually on the railing beside you, trying to seem as though he wasn't working hard to figure out what you were thinking. "Thanks for comin' with me today, MC."
You looked at him then and the bright smile you had across your face nearly made him fall over the railing. He saw the blush that sprang up on your cheeks as you moved a little closer to him. "I love spending time with you."
The momentum of this statement caused the heat to flood his own face and he closed his eyes, unable to look at you directly. "M-me too…"
When you kissed him, everything else seemed to fall away. His insecurities, his uncertainty, his concern over your well being, all put on hold while he turned into you, his hands reaching out for you, pulling you closer.
You pulled away just long enough to say against his lips, "I love you, Mammon."
Time stopped for Mammon. Here you were, pressed against him, telling him you loved him, and he hadn't even seen it coming. All that time he spent focused on your feelings and he hadn't even suspected this. He knew you liked him or whatever, but this?
Mammon pulled you even closer, needing to feel you there in his arms, where he knew you were his. "I love you too, MC," he said against your ear.
This changed nothing, of course. Mammon still remained your guardian demon and he would always be on the lookout for anything that might disturb his human. His vigilance would never waver. But now he knew what to expect when you got that little gleam in your eye, when you acted a little shy and started looking around at anything but him. When that happened, he found, the best thing to do was to kiss you.

HEY IM BACK
Haven't posted here for a while cause l kind of forgot this account but l have been thinking about Medea and Jason and their play again and U G H I love them so l drew Medea because she's a more complex and realistic character than all the feminist retelling characters COMBINED
Speaking of feminist retellings, here's a rant:
I think the thing that ticks me off the most is that they always make the women good, they're not allowed to be bad at all.
Circe has a lot of potential to be good with Madeline's unique ideas but it goes down the drain when you need to make women always good to be 'feminist'
Circe does a lot of bad things but in the end feels bad and eventually wants a punishment for it and HEY DONT
Let Scylla be a monster, don't confess the power you discovered and just... Idk? PURSUE A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH GLAUCUS NOW THAT HES SINGLE????
What was even the point if she wasn't even going to even be with him? I'm not just saying this cause l ship them or anything (l don't) but you just make Circe make Scylla a monster for no reason
I know damn well that Madeline could have come up with a better reason for her 'exile' (she doesn't even get exiled to the island, she just goes there BTW) you could have been like "Oh no one wants to marry me cause I'm ugly or whateva l guess l want a passion other than a man so l will live in this island from now on and pursue my interest in sorcery"
Is what l just made up good? No, l don't think so, but do you know what it is? FEMINIST. ITS FEMINIST BECAUSE ITS CIRCES CHOICE. SHE NEEDS A HOBBY AND SOMETHING OTHER THAN HER FEELING BAD FOR HERSELF AND ALWAYS BEING DOIBTFULL OF HERSELF. I THOUGHT FEMINISM WAS EMPOWIRNG
Let a woman be bad, not all of them have to be saints. If you make them have flaws and toxic traits you make them realistic and relatable which makes them likable

Why I think April and Leo shouldn't become an actual couple in MM
WARNING! Spoilers for Mutant Mayhem
(also btw wanted to make it clear I'm not like dissing on people that ship it and stuff, I'm just saying how I personally want to see their dynamic and relationship play out)
I wanted to discuss Leo's crush on April in the movie. With the rise (haha funny) of the follow-up show (and sequel) for Mutant Mayhem I've heard a few people talk about Leo and April potentially getting together.
Welcome to my TedTalk on why they shouldn't, but PLEASE let Leo have a normal teenage crush for the love of god-
I've really liked how they've shown their dynamic so far, and I'm so glad that Leo hasn't gotten all... 2012 Donnie-like. We're all traumatized after 2012 Apriltello, and I think we can all agree we do not need a repeat of that disaster.
What I really want to see is Leo being a kid with a crush, he's gonna be head over heels, irrational, etc. He doesn't know how to act, for christ's sake he crushed on the first human girl he ever saw! He's not exactly mature, it's his first crush. It's such a good chance for character development! He's a teenager, he has hormones.
April doesn't currently (from what we've seen) and shouldn't have to like him. I think it would be a sweet moment to show Leo that he can't make someone like him, and really nice message for younger viewers. It could be 2012 Apriltello done right! I also don't want to see April feeling "bad" for not liking him back or something, or if they do end up doing have it be made clear that she doesn't have to. In the movie, Leo makes his crush pretty obvious and April doesn't "seem" to notice really. You could also explore this as a way of her trying to not hurt his feelings, even though she only sees him as a friend.
The whole situation would be a good message for young kids, and a more relatable situation for teens. I know MM is really trying to show more "realistic" teenagers, I think this would be a great step! (not then teenagers can't get into relationships, but most people's first crush/relationship is at least a little rocky)
Leo is a kid, have some funny and cute episodes where he learns to get over his crush. Maybe have him realize he doesn't have to have a romantic relationship with April to enjoy her company? I honestly find that idea really sweet as we don't really see this type of thing done well a lot.
Of course, they could just end up having them get together in the end, yada, yada, yada... But personally I would love to see more nuance in their relationship
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Oh yeah this isn't proof read either oops

i'm sorry if this is weird to ask, but i just watched tristamp and for the time being i don't intend on watching the old one or reading the manga (busy with uni :/) so i have some gaps in my understanding of the story still, and since i like some of your "meta" type of posts i thought i'd ask you - i know about vash and wolfwood's sense of guilt and all, and i understand where vash's comes from but i'm a bit confused about what has wolfwood done "wrong" to make him feel so guilty. i don't know if i'm just stupid *cried* but i just can't figure it out please help!
Ah, you are not stupid buddy and it's not weird to ask ! >:]
Trigun, no matter the medium, is quite the complex story. There's many layers to each characters, especially those like Wolfwood.
I would say, in Stampede, the core of Wolfwood guilt is mainly linked to:
1. He's a murderer.
2. He couldn't stop Livio from sharing his fate.
3. 'Betraying' Vash
None of these things are quite his fault nor his choice. It's the Eye of Michael's. Ultimately, Wolfwood is a protector and will do anything to protect his loved ones.
Legato calls him out on it and say his attachement to people is a weakness. He even tried to harm them to 'free' Wolfwood from his attachement to make him a better weapon.
But the reality is, the only reason Wolfwood is 'picking the gun' at all is for the Orphanage. If he didn't have anything to protect, I even doubt he would have made it past the experiments/training. His attachements are both his strength and his shackles.
Because to protect them, he has to follow a really bloody and cruel path on which the Eye put him. His role there is to punish traitors and deserters. (both of which he will become btw). It's to kill.
And kill he has and he will. A lot. This is a bit spoilerly and mostly based off Trimax (for now) but he will have so much blood on his hands he won't even be able to face the orphanage again until he's forced to.
But what else could he have done? It's not like he had a choice from the start, if he wants to live, if he wants the orphanage to be safe, he has to dirty his hands. That's how the world works and he is just a man doing what he can.
Then he meets Vash. The antithesis of everything he lived by and for. Vash who also wants to protect too much, but refuse to kill. He shows Wolfwood another way is possible and it pisses him off. Because if Vash is right, What does that make him? And that's where he's at in season one. At that cross road where he is left wondering if it's like Vash said, is he a good guy? Or is it what Zazie and Roberto said, just a murderer ?
And even if it's not realistic for a mortal like Wolfwood to never kill, even if he will argue and call Vash foolish or naive, it gets to him. It really does. At his core Wolfwood is follower of Vash and the hope he represents. But not the same way Legato is a follower of Knives. Vash and Wolfwood are equals, they inspire each others and they argue, but they never coerce the other's to take the same path. However, because he's a protector, he has to be Judas. He has to lead Vash to slaughter, no matter what.
As for Livio, the guilt stem from his bond with him being the sole reason his brother got doomed to become a weapon like him. If it wasn't for Wolfwood befriending Livio, he wouldn't have followed him to EoM.
So yeah, too much blood on his hands, having to betray Vash and feeling responsable for Livio's fate. That's what makes him feel all catholic guilt in the universe.

Today's translation #526
Yuri!!! on Life official guidebook, Toshiharu Mizutani (Art Director) interview
Part 3.
-- For sure, there is a lot of small things in the designs.
M: When I look at just the line arts, I always think that they are drawn in a very loose way, and a lot of those small things are skillfully drawn in a simplified way/omitted. It's something that only somebody with a lot of practice can do. Even newcomers can draw precisely, if they look at a drawing and try to copy it, but the most important thing is not to draw something that is not necessary. If you have to later erase something that you drew, then you give yourself twice the amount of work, but only people with a lot of skill can simply not draw too much to begin with.
-- Then it must have been a good opportunity to learn for the younger staff members, I'd guess?
M: They were all very desperate [to get the job done] and working while on the brink of death.
-- The ice in the skating scenes is very realistic, too. Was it a request from the Director?
M: Yeah. Since the first PV. Even I have watched some figure skating on DVD, so it was something that was on my mind, too. In case of ice shows, the lights are very elaborate, and your eyes are really drawn to the ice, cut with blades of skaters' shoes. Because of how it sparkles. I was wondering if it would be possible to try to achieve this effect, but I thought that if I touched this subject, we all were going to suffer, so I kept quiet. But then I decided that I want to have those cuts in the ice, after all. All were drawn on the same layer, but then split into multiple layers. We put at least three such layers on the surface of the ice.
[Notes: Long time no rant, so...
((Just in case, newer readers may not be aware, that I'm a "fujo-hater" 😂 But fret not, I'm not against seeing relationship between Yuuri and Victor as romantic or against people reading BL, but I'm very much against fujos, who as it was in the case of YoI, try to "teach"/press the creators/other staff members to make the canon bend to their doujinshi tropes.))
The talk about staff members on the brink of death reminded me about that huge controversy about MAPPA that happened last year 💀 It's not a secret that Sayo was overworking animators during YoI and there are still screenshots of animators calling her names on twitter and say condolences to each other, bc of being involved with YoI. So, YoI fandom now hating MAPPA, bc "bad MAPPA, bad working conditions, poor animators...", while demanding that they should stop producing shonens, bc they should make YoI instead is well... an example of how spending time in an echo chamber and just following the crowd can make you a huge hypocrite.
It should also be said that it's not that those shonens are "just for boys" or anything like that if we talk about this topic, btw. GoYuu from JJK (Gojo x Yuuji) is so popular with fujos that it has now more views in total on pixiv than VicYuu, and gets more views in 10-30 min than VicYuu gets in 24 hours (a huge credit for that should ofc go to YoI's IP holders, as they've been trying to starve the fandom to death since 2018, basically...) It's really ironic that it's YoI fans who are so much against MAPPA making those popular shonens, bc so many Jp VicYuu fujos moved to GoYuu (it's basically the same trope "the most awesome, strong and cool man in the world the seme" x "fujoshi avatar the main character in the center of the universe the uke") - one of the reasons, why Jp fans don't attack MAPPA - they very much enjoy those shonens. (Another is that they can read and it's very easy to check who owns the IP.)
To sum up, as always, it's very unfair for YoI fans to call Otsuka CEO the greedy homophobic liar, while absolutely refusing to see the bigger picture.]

Nico di Angelo in Ceaseless Eve: Let's Discuss
Tumblr media
⚠️ The following contains spoilers for any & all of Ceaseless Eve ⚠️
How do you even begin to write a character like Nico?
He's a character who feels like a distant childhood friend (funnily enough, being a pjo fan since I was nine or so, all of the characters feel that way to me). There are so many interpretations of him that are close, yet slightly different. There is, of course, the new canon content being released about him--and that brings up an entirely new wave of opinions that I will not get into (lol).
I wrote as many chapters in his perspective as I did Leo's. Where Leo opened the story, Nico closed it, two sides of the same coin. And yet, I feel as though I have only scratched the surface of who he is.
To begin, I made Nico out to be a guide character--Leo's protector, his introduction to the world of mythology. I think this is a good place to start him off after the events of The Last Olympian, because it shows that he finds camp more stable, and he is less flighty. He found a friend in Piper, which I think Nico really needed--having a friend made outside of a quest shows that he really has opened up a little. I believe that despite not being the best at communication or hospitality, he wants to provide the incoming demigods with a safe home and good experience, ensuring no demigod feels abandoned by camp the way he did.
Another reason why I established Nico and Piper's friendship prior to the events of CE is due to my personal opinions on Blood of Olympus and the Heroes of Olympus series as a whole. I won't get too much into my opinions on canon and ships, because i know many CE readers are multishippers and quite like canon. However, I will say I was not a fan of how...quickly Will was introduced in the end, and how he is introduced as a friend, only to quickly be established as a boyfriend not long after. I would have liked to see their friendship grow and develop into a relationship over the course of several books like percabeth. I also think the friendships amoungst the seven & others were not developed much outside of the couples. That was why I had Piper and Nico be friends first--so Nico could have a friend before meeting Leo and developing a relationship with him. I mean, we all need a friend to talk about our crush with, right? ("But, Rose, you silly goofy genius, what about Nico's friendship with Jason in canon?" they are in love in canon, next question).
I believe that by the time they start the quest, Nico and Leo are on around even footing. Of course, they have been exchanging quips from chapter one, and Nico is always going to be more in-tune to the mythological aspect than Leo, but this is their first quest. As independant as they both are, Nico feels somewhat comfortable allowing Leo to help in times of trouble, and that feeling reaches a precipice at the Doors of Death when Leo comes up with their escape.
As for the romantic element of their relationship, I think that Nico secretly thought that Leo was cute from their first meeting (oh, wait, I wrote it--that's canon lol). It's not until just...all of chapter seven (which I'm still Normal about, btw) that Nico begins to question how he feels about Leo. The nature of the timeline of the fic makes this all develop a lot quicker than I thought would be realistic for the both of them, so I wanted to leave the end to be picked up in the next book. I think there I can delve more into their feelings for each other and how they really are opposite sides of the same coin.
A favorite thing that goes along with Nico's character: Bianca's Star
I love Bianca's star so much, I hope it's not too obvious that I came up with it on the spot while writing chapter 16 lol. It really does seem like something that should have been in canon. I thought it'd be a small way to honor Nico's relationship with his late sister while building up his future relationship with Hazel. And speaking of...
Bonus character!
Hazel Levesque: Let's Discuss
In writing the parts before the trio's decent into the Underworld, I wrote in their retrieval of Hazel as a "they might as well while they're down there" (lol, that sounds so mean :') )--but I was quick to realize that Hazel's character was way too important to be sidelined.
She is a particularly selfless character, which I think can be contributed to the circumstances of her revival. She wants to do what she can to help her new friends and the gods--even if she has a lot of mixed feelings about her situation and who she can consider a friend. Although she is a side character in this book, she will be taking up the main character mantle in the sequel. Hazel will definitely have more time in the spotlight to discover her abilities as a demigod as well as who she wants to be in her second life.

For the headcanon thing, I'm specifically asking you for a Celeste headcanon on behalf of that person who didn't get Celeste headcanon. Checkmate, Lee - rotate Taeko Yasuhiro in your mind until the headcanons manifest. 😎👉👉
UR KIDDINNGGGGG oh god. ok concentrating concentrating
headcanon a (realistic): do not bring her to board game night if you were planning on winning or having fun. she takes every single game so seriously and kicks ass every single time. she becomes a millionare in monopoly and nobody was aware that was even possible. shes even good at quiplash because she memorises the stupid jokes that her classmates keep repeating day after day and puts that into the text box each time. of COURSE her classmates are going to pick the answer that says "freeby fazber" why WOULDN'T they
headcanon b (may not be realistic but it is hilarious): see the thing about celeste is it is truly impossible to tell what parts of her story are real and what are complete lies .. i think she lives an extremely average life outside of being "celestia ludenburg" and that is why she created this false persona in the first place. born to a working class family definitely went through it a bit when she was younger but was able to garner quite a bit of notoriety and wealth from gambling to get her own place-- but definitely not enough to live in luxury. enough to get her out of poverty but not enough to avoid living paycheck to paycheck yknow. the REAL headcanon i have is that every single time she brings one of her classmates back to her home she rents out a different spot each time just to keep them on their toes. eventually she lets one of them (idk sayaka maybe) finally enter her actual house and its this one bedroom apartment with no air conditioner and a bunch of gothic lolita posters everywhere and sayaka genuinely thinks shes being pranked until celeste is like "no im being serious. youve signed a non disclosure agreement btw this information will not be leaving this room"
headcanon c (heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends): i dont think even celeste is aware of what her true personality is anymore. i really do like to believe that there are parts of it that are still left over, most of which is fuelling this deeply rooted imposter syndrome she certainly tries not to dwell on, but by all means her desire to seperate herself from taeko yasuhiro has caused her to practically forget who she once was. telling celeste to "stop lying" is much easier said than done, and i think it'll take years before she could ever reach the point where she is truly authentic and "herself". and even then celestia ludenburg will certainly still remain in a lot of her actions and speech patterns. she wont just wake up one day and suddenly be vulnerable and fragile and guilty, it's gonna take her a loooooooong while to adjust
headcanon d (unrealistic, but i will disregard canon about it): i think she's a bit geekier than she lets on GHFDKG its that small bit of taeko thats still there......... she would never admit it in a million years but sometimes, SOMETIMES, shes able to listen in on hifumis ramblings and go "oh i remember that show. his opinion about this character is totally wrong. oh well time to add that to the list of things i do not like about that man." oooooooo also fun fact whenever i write celestia in my "danganronpa is a reality tv show thats been going on for ages" aus i always always write her as a character that adapts with the changing trends. same with ibuki!! her aesthetic adapts over the years towards what is more recognisable with the target audience at the time, and while it definitely isn't as noticeable as ibuki's style swap there are certainly a LOT of wild changes team dr tries to throw at her before quickly reverting her style back and pretending it never happened ghfjdksgk
headcanon ask game!! :)

One more ask about the East Blue Asylum AU! I saw you mentioned Germa 66 and that was something I thought about a lot as well! Whole Cake Island is my favorite arc, so please do talk about those Vinsmokes we all love and hate ^u^
Okay, well in my mind the Sora Warrior Of The Sea are fiction. They're like Batman or Superman but ig maybe more of a magical girl version of the power rangers???
I wanna say that WCI has to be one of my fav arcs as well I live it to bits! And that's one of the reasons I honestly don't know how to do it lol
I have a little post in my drafts about Zou but WCI I haven't really made up my mind. The two posts are kinda intertwined so I'll tey to post it right after this answer.
I did try to shower-think it and I came up with a few ideas but idk if I like them enough':)
At some point, Judge had started getting bad press for having a son he abandoned and is now in a mental hospital. He didn't know how the word got out, but it did and he decided that he'd get him out and treat him in some private place but it was very obvious that he didn't want to go and since he was a legal adult, he could decide for himself. (Even if he wanted to leave, the doctors were the only ones who could dismiss him after he signed himself in.)
About his brothers - They look a lot like the heroes from the Germa comics and act just as uptight and heartless as them. Subconsciously, Luffy must have mistaken them for "The Warriors Of The Sea". But in reality they're just brats who used to bully their brother - mean little kids who grew up to be even worse adults. Sanji's sister, however, I imagine has visited before, only this time she wasn't dressed like she was in hiding. The Vinsmoke family (in my head) is a bit like the Rockefellers - everyone knows who they are and it's hard to drop their name in a casual conversation and not get some kind of reaction.
In regards to his past - Sanji still got abused and beaten up by both his father and brothers. But instead of being a failed experiment, he was just a nice little boy who didn't like sports and competing in things, he just liked stereotypically girly things like butterflies flowers, cooking, and pretty things. His father didn't like that, as he believed that all his dons should be manly men who won chess tournaments, so soccer games, basketball matches or martial arts competitions. If they weren't the strongest, smartest, most handsome men in their circle, then they were no sons of his. And Sanji didn't meet that criteria. He didn't care for sports or competing, he just wanted to have fun and to have friends. Don't get me wrong, he was still smart. But wanting to be a cook is not exactly a good look if all of your family is just CEOs and multimillionaire company holders. Or at least in Judge's eyes. So when Sanji ran away at 12 (I'm making him older to make it more realistic), Judge just closed his eyes and reported him missing in the wrong region so he couldn't be found and so the investigation could declare him dead after the appropriate amount of years.
The golden bracelets were real, but they weren't exploding, Judge just used them to yank Sanji when he got mad at him and threaten him. "I'll cut them off till wherever they reach!" he'd say, so Sanji would wish to be skinnier so if they slip off, then maybe he wouldn't cut his hands off? That was his child logic at least. That's how his questionable relationship with food started, but later on he'd just starve himself to feel like he still has control over something in his life. Anything. That or as a punishment to himself, more than often he wouldn't believe he deserved food or he'd think that there are people with bigger needs than him. So he'd lose appetite and maybe feel sick enough to throw up. (Him having bulimia is one of the many reasons why hates himself and thinks he doesn't deserve food, because why eat if he'd just throw it up?(Zoro hates that he thinks that way btw and he tries feeding him every once in a while because he'd notice that Sanji could scarcely say no to him. Plus he likes taking care of him))

Idk about you, but I believe in the “Problem Sleuth, The Felt, and The Midnight Crew co-Exist in the same universe” supremacy even though it may not be true. It’s real in my heart 😞💖
I believe this with all my heart too!!! It would be wasted potential otherwise 😩
Personally I like when the Felt are included in the mix! Its either MC and Team Sleuth, or MC and Felt, but rarely all three. Like the idea of the Crew and Team Sleuth potentially working together against a common enemy is too good. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't, right?
This is where I start rambling and its really long, you don't have to read it! I just felt inspired (I even talk about this post)
I also like to imagine the historical innacuracies in the Problem Sleuth universe are due to the Felt messing with the timelines. Tho it's not like their universe was entirely accurate and realistic in the first place (it doesn't have to be), as stuff like innocuous doubles and the imagination realm are a thing that exist and make sense to them.
I should clarify two things:
As a noir artist (aesthetic, NOT values) who's really keen on history I've done plenty of research on the time period that PS is based on for my own stories, and I'm in no way saying that it should be accurate! I just think it's funny to imagine a gang who messes with time and space were the reason why a noir detective knows the existence of Snoop Dog.
I should also say that I apologize if my ideas have already been said or done before. I got no way of knowing what people in the 2010s came up with already (I was 8 when Homestuck was peak in popularity, have mercy). Tho I do have to thank a specific fanfic that triggered my monkey brain into developing a similar concept to what the author did with the Crew (Y'all have made me start reading fanfics again, I hope you're happy). it's Mr Suit and Tie btw.
All being said, I proceed to talk about my silly little universe half inspired by TWAU game.
Before the events of Problem Sleuth it was just Team Sleuth, the gals and Kingpin as n°1 public enemy. All living in a film noir world forever stuck in the prohibition era, and althought the years go by they essentially stay the same. Not until one day stuff not yet invented started to appear out of nowhere, time anomalies that affected sometimes even structures began to happen (Spiderman into the spider-verse type of anomalies), same time as two new criminal organizations began causing trouble.
Again, this was all before the events of Problem Sleuth. So they had time to accept these new changes over the years and grew accustomed to the new stuff around them, using them to their advantage even.
Also similar to GPI creating the universe thanks to time shenanigans, Slick created the city even if he "didn't exist yet" in this universe
As I explained in a previous post, Team Sleuth and other characters from the webcomic are all human in my interpretation (with a few exceptions). While the Midnight Crew and The Felt are just disguised as such. I don't have an explanation why or where they come from, nor do I want an explanation. As @/problemsleuth said "a little bit of supernatural & eldritchness goes a long way in making noir very very fun." and it's SO very true.
But why I find this particularly interesting is because I think it gives a great excuse why Team Sleuth is after the MC and the Felt. We're talking about a new set of characters who all weirdly possess strange abilities that could endanger the public (the MC with their shadow based magic and the Felt with their time shenanigans), and not just common mobsters. I don't think it's unfair for Team Sleuth as they got equally powerful friends and are not entirely incompetent at times. If they could beat DMK, they can beat anything tbh.
I got a lot more to say about the whole "human disguises" stuff, but this post is already too long and it's off topic (my whole rambling is off topic) so I'll leave it up to here.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, if you've read this far.

It's that lurking anon again, please forgive me for this long ass thing I'm probably about to ramble on about, in advance. TW for unaliving and SA.
I loveeee your new drabbles especially the rockstar one, he's so precious. I loved pm Dazai and ADA reader as well. To be honest though, if he asked me on a date I'd fold immediately 🙃 no need to beg, buy expensive wine etc. I know technically he's supposed to be the complete opposite company of reader but I'm all for opposing sides of something falling in love, like an angel and a demon. I feel like even though Dazai is technically a good person now or at least on the good side doing good things, if it came to the person he loved to get hurt or almost die(because I refuse to even entertain the thought of this man having his heart broken again) he'd sacrifice the world for them. "A hero will sacrifice you for the world but a villain will sacrifice the world for you," and I think Dazai when it comes to his love will do the latter.
I especially love Persephone and Hades love story....minus the kidnapping. But I mean Hades loves his wife even though he's supposed to be this horrific devil because he's a God but people demonize him all the time, I see Dazai this way. I love to say he has the luck of the devil but the mind of a God. I have the biggest soft spot for people who I feel a desperate need to take care of and he's definitely one of those characters. Dazai reminds me of myself in sometimes, I've never seen value in living and have tried to not be here any longer twice, but I'm here still and I'm learning to not just exist but actually live. We aren't exactly the same but I genuinely wish I could reach the parts of his heart that he hides behind the shadows of his past. I know this is a lot for just an anime character but I can't deny he's incredibly realistic and I feel deeply for everything.
I know a lot of people don't ship him and Oda(I don't either btw) but I feel like he definitely was in love with him. I've read the manga and as much about this show as I can(I hyperfixate) and whenever it comes to them, I just see the definition of first love and "love of my life." Everything I've read with Dazai on Oda (Oda being older than him and considered him a friend, definitely not brotherly nor fatherly, I don't think Oda knew)and all the things he's done with Oda on his mind and his name in every beat of his heart, I can't deny I see true love there. I know a lot of people ship him and Chuuya(don't attack me fans of this ship please) but I'm not sure I can see him loving someone as much as Oda, after all, look at how much he's changed and done because of Oda(I don't mean he can't love anyone else, he definitely can and I hope he will but it's that eternal love he'll never forget). I know a lot of people think he's incapable of being loyal/would cheat but I think quite the opposite(because this isn't Author Osamu Dazai, this is Dazai who was inspired by two book characters, they're not the same, they have some similarity but only a few things in common), seeing how much love Dazai is capable of makes me feel like, even though he's seen as a womanizer, he has SO much love to give and he'd be so incredibly loyal to whoever captures and secures his heart. That man won't ever betray the one he loves because he's still Dazai and that person will most definitely be his lifeline, the reason he's living, his heart beats for them.
Also reading the characters he's based on makes me sad because he's based on a character that's been through so much sexual assault(both men and women took advantage of him). I feel like it could explain why Dazai is such a womanizer as well. He's not a coward for being traumatized by people in his past and yes I know we don't know if the author will bring anything up about this part of his past that relates to the characters he's based on but I can't help but wonder, you know? And as someone who has been assaulted like he has as well, I understand why he's like that, he's not purposely playing with anyone's heart(I mean the women he's with), he's protecting himself from what he's felt in his past.
Anyway I'm ending this before it gets too long even though I probably went past too long a few paragraphs ago. So sorry if this was too much or weird.
Anyway stay safe love🥺💖 I hope I didn't dump all this on you unexpectedly. I'm so sorry if you hate this or hate anything I said 😭😭
tw: mentions of sh
hope ur doing alright anon ❤️ i agree w a lot of this in terms of dazai's backstory and such ! i have to say tho i can still totally see dz cheating almost for the same reason you say you can't... like, he loves his s/o so much that he wants to drive them away so he doesn't hurt them/get them caught up w his shit, so that they don't die in his arms and he loses another person he loves, etc - what better way of getting them to leave than shattering their trust? (which is still not an excuse ofc)
i also have a hc that dazai is actually some form of asexual and doesn't actually enjoy the meaningless sex he typically has and uses it as a form of sh - like on a rough night he gets horrifically drunk and goes home with a random just because he doesn't view himself as human and wants to make himself uncomfortable. esp w how he was brought up in the pm, using his body to achieve his end goals (shown w kouyka when he says to atsushi that she'll seduce those bodyguards and then take them out, and she's 14; same w when dazai slept w that nurse to get his phone back during the cannibal arc i believe) like it's clear mori expects some pretty horrific things from his subordinates, so he's definitely used to viewing himself as less-than and viewing his body as a tool...
it's all food for thought, idk. hope you're in a better place and taking care of yourself, anon ❤️

Would you say I was wrong for being naive or should I block him for what he did?
I've been seeing this guy for while and i'm pretty inexperienced with guys, he was patient with me over the past few months but definitely showed that he wanted to go further than making out. I know it was stupid of me but eventually he convinced me to just let him put the tip in to start things off slow. I was a virgin at that point and I was really nervous to go all the way and this seemed like a good way to start. It wasn't supposed to be any more than that but once he got there he kept going even though it wasn't what I wanted. I guess it's obvious that it would lead to sex but i had made it clear that I didn't want to do that much and he betrayed my trust. I don't know where to go from here, he's acting like nothing happened and I feel conflicted about everything myself. Everything was fine until this point, my roomates are kind of taking my side saying that he was wrong but he says that it would have been unrealistic for him to stop when I wanted him to. He was honestly a great guy before this and maybe with a new perspective I can see things his way and we can just go back to normal. Maybe I shouldn't have led him on
Sorry for the long note I just really need some advice
Love your writing btw thx 💗
Please drop him like a bad habit. Your friends are right. What he did was wrong. Even though I am of the belief "just the tip" never means just the tip, you're not at fault for trusting him and taking him at his word. He had other intentions from the moment he proposed that and what's realistic is you expecting him to keep that word. He doesn't respect boundaries and he lies. That's a bad combination and you really need to forget about him
