I just thought about something. There was the whole thing with moving Thor's hammer in Age of Ultron... but remember that Widow refused to even try, saying it wasn't something that she wanted to try... do you think, assuming that Steve could have lifted Thor's hammer at the time and simply backed down because he didn't really see a reason to wield it, since it could cause trouble with Thor, that Widow would have been considered worthy or not? I'm guessing the answer is 'no she's not worthy' but I'm still curious~
I think Nat rightfully assumed it was a pissing contest and didn't want to join in.
I also think that Nat wouldn't have thought herself worthy and didn't need Mjolnir to tell her that (or to affirm the assumptions she was sure most of the others would have with regards to her worthiness - whether those assumptions were founded or not).
Beyond that, we'd have to look at the characters we know Mjolnir did qualify as worthy for commonalities between them (Thor, Vision, Steve (I'm not taking Jane into account here because although she WAS worthy, TLAT went a weird way of "she's worthy because Thor told Mjolnir to take care of her" and also she's much more complicated and also we're talking about characters defined worthy at the period of time in AOU (as opposed to potential worthiness later))) - and the main commonalities I see between those three is their innocence in doing good and their belief in the goodness of people.
Hope and faith and love, mainly, towards the normal person and a desire to protect that, which is roughly how Thor regains his worthiness in his first movie - he sacrificed himself for the common man, who he had grown to love and had faith and hope in their being good, etc. (It's been a while since I've seen the movie, don't judge me.) You can also see all of these in Steve and Vision VERY LOUDLY.
I think by Endgame, Nat's sacrifice very clearly demonstrates all of the above - or at least those as given to her fellow Avengers - and at that point, yeah, I would say she was worthy.
And I certainly think she has those in abundance towards her fellow Avengers in AOU (and I think Civil War semi-supports this - she sides with Steve because she trusts her Avengers family over the government, and she turns on Tony because she trusts in Steve and the validity of what he says about Bucky).
But I think, as a spy, Nat has a level of distrust and suspicion towards average people that you're not going to find in either Steve or Vision. Not that she believes everyone she runs into is bad, but that she's used to seeing everyone else as a potential antagonist or spy or something else in disguise. And she's definitely using Hulk instead of Banner, quite against what Banner specifically wants (we see this later on in AOU in the Battle of Sokovia), which is a clear decision of what she thinks they need to win over trusting in her fellow Avenger to know what is best for him.
So I would say that no, in AOU, I don't think Mjolnir would consider her worthy. (But that's character arcs! Progression! I think it's possible she's worthy in CW, but there's still that learning to trust the other Avengers to know what they need - which is the Steve choice - and then trusting them fully in Endgame - there's the progression of worthiness there!)
...which isn't getting into everything else, etc.

hey hi how does travis parallel common feminine tropes? i need to hear from the travis expert
Okay, so the "Problem" is that there's a preface and conclusion that's, like, way longer than just my bit about Travis's funny little parodies and then genuine relationship with femininity. While answering this ask, I realized just how big it is and I don't want to unload all of it here because I am just. Too tired all of the time to have all of it done in one swipe, and my attempt to do so ended up frustrating me more than anything LMAO
I write this with the promise that I'll expand on it and actually get to the meat of your question. I have a lot of it written, already!
The preface is easy: what's up with Travis and his relationship with gender?
Tumblr media
Travis is trying to present as a very masculine, powerful character. It's an easy defense mechanism when he's alone in a crowded room. The thing many people fail to consider is that he doesn't know any of these people, and he probably dislikes most (if not all) of them on principal. The girls have a bond that existed in the before times, and Travis doesn't. He's an outsider. He's trying to grasp for some semblance of control by playing a sort of parody of the stoic, macho man... and it doesn't work.
Because of how he does this, a lot of people into the show are not into Travis. He's one of the only characters that are overtly and loudly misogynistic. It makes sense that people don't want to look past that when he acts so nasty. This means many write him off as exactly what Travis wants people to think he is.
Kevin Alves says it best in his Boys by Girls interview. I suggest reading the whole thing, it says a lot of what I'm saying and more.
So, even though he's pushing this masculine agenda when he's in the wreck with all the girls, my assumption in him has always been that he's never been the most big or the most masculine of guys at school. This is him really trying to pretend to be someone that he is not, this is not him.
This dramatized, fictional version of him is how he thinks he'll find a place within the group. The alternative is getting Coach Ben-ed and slowly being ousted from the group. Sitting in the back room and rotting in complete solitude just seems like a downer.
Tumblr media
(Here he is looking sad for emphasis)
Travis was never the top dog. The girls do not take him seriously when he acts like this, and he probably wasn't taken very seriously in school. His insecurities lead to a lot of failures in his relationship with Javi and Nat, and no relationship with anyone else. If it continued any further than it did, he would've died for this. Like with Jackie, he'd be frozen out.
What Travis learns, and we learn as well, is that to be part of the in-group, you must also be a part of the dominant culture in the cabin and Wilderness itself. For Travis to be a part of the Yellowjackets, Travis must also be one of the girls.
Travis's story, the link between season 1 and season 2, is one of transition.
Some interpret this as a social transition, but I believe it to be literal.
The surviving group is not "the Yellowjackets and also Travis." By the end of season 2, (actually by the end of Qui,) Travis is indistinguishable from the rest. He's eaten Jackie with them, he's given blood to Shauna, he's taken blood from Lottie, he has led the group in their second act of cannibalism. Travis is a Yellowjacket.

Credit where credit is due:
@monstrousgourmandizingcats really helped me grind out these ideas and has a lot of cool YJ takes in general, and most of the screenies were given to me by @nicothecowboy.
Now, for YJ Fic Writer's Weekend I should hopefully have the part of this that you asked about ready. Until then, I have some interviews, and I cannot recommend the PaleyFest panel more. It has a lot about Travis in S2 and his relationship with Nat and Lottie.

Series Masterlist
“I wish that you went to Tony’s party. Everybody was there. Bucky was looking for you.” Nat tells you about the party you didn’t go to yesterday as she sinks into your huge bean bag chairs in your room. “Wow, he still doesn’t want to believe that I’m gay, does he?” You laugh a little responding to Nat as you are busy typing on your laptop finishing your homework.
“Well, apparently. Oh, Valkyrie was looking for you too. You know how much she likes you.” Nat adds as she throws your softball up and catches it casually. “Valkyrie? You meant Val? Valkyrie is her full first name?” You turn your head to look at Nat as you ask. She nods as an answer to you. “Sharon was there too. That plastic girl. Everything about her is fake. Oh my God, she throws herself to Steve all..night..long. She’s not good enough for him.” Grimace shows in Nat’s face as she speaks.
“I don’t like her either but you are too overprotective of him.” You comment with your laptop’s keyboard tapping sounds in the background.
“He’s like a brother to me, of course I will be overprotective as much as he is to me. Anyway, I still don’t get why you didn’t go to the party. You could’ve gone but you literally chose homework over a party with me and others.” Her soft raspy voice wraps in disappointment as it reaches your ears.
“It’s not just any homework, Natty. It’s Ms. Maximoff’s homework. She doubled my essay homework.” You retort. “Well, thanks to your know-it-all side. Also, you still have time to submit it and go to the party. Why are you so determined to finish it so fast?" Nat demands your reasoning.
"Because I want to show and prove to her that even though she doubled my homework, I still can finish it even earlier than others can." You gave her a very confident wink as you told her your motive. Well, you actually didn’t tell her the motive BEHIND your motive.
“It seems like you are trying hard to impress her so hard.” The red haired Russian patches a smirk. “Pffft. Me? Of course not.” You declined full heartedly her theory.
“You can tell me, y/n. I actually think that she is your type. Well, I don’t know what you think about older women. But she is smart plus she looks very attractive and last but not least, her accent. You always say that smart is the new sexy.” Nat adds as she does your impression saying the last sentence.
“Ha ha ha. Very funny, Nat. I just want to see her face when I submit the homework tomorrow.”
You can see Nat shakes her head as she rolls her eyes while she jokingly says, “God, you are such a nerd. Sometimes I don’t know how we can even be best friends for so long.”
“I hope she already graded our mini pop quiz from last class and will return it tomorrow because I’m dying to know how I do.” said Nat as she got up. “It was easy, I’m sure we did great. Trust me.” You answer with your eyes glued to the screen as you are busy typing.
“I hope so. Well, I’m gonna go to bed. Good night, nerd.” Nat yawns as she speaks and walks out of the room. “Good night, dork.” You casually reply as you playfully throw crumpled paper to her but she quickly closes your door.
_____
You knock on Nat’s bathroom door but no answer from her. You can hear her singing mixed with the shower noise. You knock once more and you get the same. You decided to slowly open the door and peak your head in a little, hoping that she will hear you that way. “Nat, sorry, I gotta go now. I’ll see you in class, okay?”
You finally get her attention and she peaks her head out of the shower curtain, all puzzled with what you just said. “Wait, what? Why in a rush? Everything okay? I’m almost done and I can be ready fast if you want.”
“No. No. It’s okay. My printer is broken. So I gotta go print my homework at the library. I gotta go, see you in class. Bye!” You explain in a rush and quickly close the door so Nat won’t get any chance to ask more details.
“Y/n?! Y/n?!” She tries to call you behind her shower curtain but silence is all she gets. Her mind keeps thinking that you are acting weird and there is something behind all that. She is right. There’s nothing wrong with your printer. Little does she know, you were just trying to find an excuse to go to the class early, alone. Yes, alone. So you can leave another note for Wanda before class.
Just like you did before, you carefully and quietly sneak into the empty class. You didn’t forget to check your surroundings before you proceed with your actions. Your heart beats nervously making your body feel cold as you slowly feel edgy. You cautiously grab the note and put it on the same visible spot of her desk. You rapidly walk out of the classroom, you feel relieved that nobody saw you. Your steps no longer feel heavy. You look at the time and you go to the bathroom nearby to calm yourself down despite the relief feelings you have right now then reply to Nat's text, telling her where you are at.
After you are done and leave the bathroom, you casually (well, at least you try to) walk back to the class. You see through the small window on the door that some students are already inside
All of a sudden you feel a slap to the back of your head as you pull the door. It wasn’t too hard but enough to startle you pretty bad. You instantly turn your head back in surprised annoyance. “Jesus! Nat. Why the hell did you do that? You scared the shit out of me.” You slip in a complaint tone in your question.
“Geez, why are you so jumpy? You are jumpy when you lie or do something bad. What did you do?” She asks in surprise as she follows you walking into the class. “I didn’t do anything and I-I’m not jumpy. You startled me with your unnecessary hard slap on my head. Who wouldn’t be jumpy when they got slapped like that?” You retort.
“Well you deserve that, you left me this morning. Why didn’t you wait? I told you I was almost done and would be ready soon.” Nat answers as both of you sit at the same exact desk on the back row.
“I already told you why I have to leave. I had to print my homework, that’s all.” You avoid eye contact with her and as your best friend she easily notices that. “I don’t know. Something is up.” She raises a brow.
“What did you mean, Nat? What’s up?” Vision’s voice came out of nowhere just right on time when you were going to respond to Nat’s suspicion. “Yeah, y/n? What’s up?” Tony asks. Both of them look at both of you as they are comfortably sitting next to the both of you. “Nothing, nothing is up. Oh by the way, guess who finished the double homework last night? Me!” You are internally so relieved after finding a way to distract your three friends away from asking you more questions as you pull out your printed homework out of your bag.
“Wow! That was fast. Let me see?” Tony grabs it from your hand but not for so long. You quickly pull it away from him but Vision sneakily steals it from you. “Give me that!” You try to take it back and both Tony and Vision laugh.
“Okay. Okay. Guys, stop it. Look who’s here.” Nat alerts the three of you and Vision voluntarily gives you back your homework. The class turns silent respectfully the second Wanda walks into the class.
“Hello again, class.” Wanda greets then the class returns her with overlaps greetings. You have no idea why your heart feels like it bursts out insanely inside your chest as soon as you see Wanda. Your eyes refuse to leave the view of her doing her thing as she is getting ready for today’s lecture.
The anticipation is killing you. You try to keep a cool calm face but internally, you are a mess. You wish you could fast forward the time so Wanda sees the note. You don’t know if it’s just you but it seems like she moves in slow motion. Yes, that’s how much you want her to notice the note so she can read it already. Everything and everybody seems to move so slow.
Wanda secretly feels like being watched and weirdly her eyes subconsciously search for you right away as if they know that it was you who stared at her. Her instinct was right. She caught you staring at her but the bad impressions she has been getting from you only make her not a fan of yours even more. Without a doubt she averts her gaze away from your own.
Her indignation is soon enough soothed when she sees the same looking piece of note from the last one. Honestly, it excites her. She tries to be as discreet as she can, stopping everything she was doing to sit down and read it.
“Your warm smile is as hypnotizing as a love spell. Like magnets, your soft green eyes pull me into euphoria as if I'm completely under your trance.”
Wanda can’t hold back her own smile to show up. She almost forgot for a few seconds that she was in front of her students. If she is alone, she would sit longer adoring the sweetness from the note. She doesn’t even know who wrote this but she has butterflies in her stomach reading it. She feels giddy, joy dances through her heart.
Meanwhile, you could’ve sworn that you saw a blush slowly show up on her cheeks and you can’t describe how happy you feel. All the rush feelings were worth it after you caught that smile on her.
You come back from your daze when Wanda’s voice dances through your ear and flows straight to your heart as she starts today’s lecture.
Wanda starts the lecture like usual, teaches the subject passionately. The more you pay attention to her, the more the butterflies in your stomach go crazy. You even wonder how she is in a class as a student or how it is to be her friend.
Every now and then Wanda glances at you and when that happens sometimes you forget what you were about to write in your notebook. She never looks at you for more than five seconds unless you ask her questions or if it’s necessary.
As the time slowly betrayed you and reminded you that today's class is almost over, you notice that she takes a seat and pulls out a small stack of papers. “Okay, before this class is over today, I have good news. Next meeting, it’s gonna be at LAB 616, we will study some fish, its anatomy. Trust me, we are gonna have fun..” the class cheers as soon as Wanda announces her next class’s plan with excitement followed by a little laugh. Just like that, her little laugh easily traps you in adoration of her. You never knew that someone’s laugh can be so attractive to you until you hear hers.
“Also, I have your pop quiz graded so I’ll call your name, come pick it up and you are good to go for today.” She continues her last announcement before she starts to call her students one by one to hand their quiz back.
There are only a few students left, even Tony and Vision already got theirs but they stay near the door to wait for you and Nat. You don’t know why you get nervous more and more the longer you wait. Questions start to pop all over your mind randomly. Why hasn’t she called you yet? Are you gonna be the last one? If yeah, did she do it on purpose? Why does it seem that she doesn't like me that much? Thoughts and questions roaming around in your mind.
"Natasha." Wanda calls as she looks right away to your and Nat’s direction. She sure remembers exactly where you and your friends sit. You see Nat walking away from you and quickly swift her steps to take her pop quiz result. Then finally, your name slips out of her lips and you just love to hear it. Your name wrapped with her accent is the new combination you never knew you needed to hear. Your lips suppress the smile that is fighting to come out and it ends up coming out as an awkward smile.
As you get closer to her desk, Nat comes back and says “Uh, I’m sorry Ms. Maximoff, this isn’t mine. It’s the other Natasha’s in this class. My last name is Romanoff.” She hands back the paper to Wanda. You halt your steps and watch what is going on.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Let me find yours and make sure that I put your grade correctly in my file.” Wanda takes the paper back and does what she needs to do. As Nat is waiting, her eyes accidentally catch something that’s laid on the table. YOUR LOVE NOTE. Yes, Nat sees it and Wanda doesn’t even realize that.
Surprised, she quickly turned her head away a little bit but of course it’s not for that long. She lays her eyes back on the note. Nat easily recognizes that it’s your handwriting. Taking the same classes with you pretty much almost every semester has its own perks. Both of you have been sharing notes with each other therefore she knows your handwriting very well.
“Okay, here you go. Good job. Keep up the good work.” Wanda’s voice alerts Nat to stop looking at the note and she takes the paper. “Thank you, Ms. Maximoff.” with that she walks away as she checks out her paper.
You take a few steps closer in front of Wanda’s desk. “Y/n, here’s yours. Nice work.” Your heart skittered taking the compliment from her. She looks up to you for a few seconds then looks back down to what she was doing. She notices that you are still standing in front of her. “Uh-excuse me, Ms. Maximoff.” You said as soon as you noticed something.
Wanda takes a deep breath and answers. “Yes, y/n? Is there a problem?”
“Yes. Something wrong on number five.” You answer her as you show her your paper and point at number 5 question. Wanda looks at it and then looks at you as she says "The only thing that's wrong in it is your answer." Cold and flat was her tone, let alone her gaze at you was so intimidating. It makes you want to run from it but stay at the same time to adore her striking green eyes but of course, all you can and want to do right now is to disagree with her.
"Wait, what? Are you serious?" You ask in disbelief.
"Do I look like I'm joking? The question is why orcas hunt great white sharks and your answer is wrong." Her words and her tone gives a chill on your spine but somehow you like it. Okay..okay. You have to focus on the question and your answer on number 5.
"Wrong? Ms. Maximoff, with all due respect, my answer is not wrong. Everybody who are in this study knows that orcas hunt great white sharks for fun." You quickly tackle her words.
"Yes, at some point but it was years ago. Then after that, it was proven that they hunt great white sharks for their liver. Perhaps you forgot about that? Or maybe you don't know about it?" Wanda explains and asks you at the same time with a tone that makes you realize that you are actually wrong.
Shit. Yes, shit. That's what's on your mind now. You are embarrassed that you can't form any words.
"Did I ring any bells? Orcas target their liver because it has a lot of nutrients. Their liver provides oil and fat and it's a very valuable source for orcas. It's written in Mr. Fury's book as well." Wanda adds, followed by a victorious smile. Seeing your facial expression, she knows she got you this time.
And you, you are a mess inside. You hate it when you are wrong in front of her. That smile, it makes you feel more embarrassed yet flustered at the same time. The wave of her dirty blonde hair, the sharp jade eyes that feels like dagger stabs right to your heart and then you are soothed by her smile.
Seeing her explains things about your favorite subject right in front of you really makes her so much more attractive. She is definitely the definition of smart is the new sexy.
"I-uh- my apology, Ms Maximoff. You were right, I totally forgot about it." You stuttered from your embarrassment and her beauty.
Wanda stops what she was doing as she looks up to you for a few seconds. She is surprised that you admit that she is right, even apologized. There’s a pinch of thought in her that thinks that you are probably not as bad as the first impression you gave her. Of course she won’t show that thought like in an open book. She looks at you, clearing her throat and says “Well, okay then. I have to call the rest of the students so they can go home. See you in the next class.” She keeps her professionalism on point then gives the slightest smile to you.
You heard everything she said but boy oh boy, all those embarrassment and awkwardness of you stupidly complaint are worth it just to see her small smile right in front of you. Your brain has a little short circuit that you just stand there until she calls your name again. “Y/n?”
“Uh-y-yeah?” You stuttered. Wanda looks confused and you look stupidly frozen. Then Natasha came to the rescue. “Y/n, aren’t you gonna submit it today?” Nat gives you a sign through her question to you as she raises up her eyebrows. Wanda’s eyes flick between you and Nat then back to you. “Submit what, y/n?” The Sokovian professor asks.
“Oh. Oh. Y-yeah, right. Uh. I have it right..here.” As soon as you realize, you grab into your bag and pull out your printed essay shortly before you present it to Wanda with a proud smile. “Y/n, what’s this?”
“It’s the essay homework. 2510 words and I got it done early and want to submit it to you today.” Your proud tone was definitely heard by her.
Internally, Wanda is actually impressed but her ego is unamused because of your proud and confident smirk. “I don’t accept that. Take it with you, please.”
“What? Why?” Your eyes are rounded in surprise, so do Natasha’s.
“It’s crumpled. I don’t like it. It’s very unprofessional. So re-print it or don’t submit it at all.” She stares dagger at you as she answers you. Wanda is perfectionist so to be presented with a crumpled printed homework, it really annoys her.
The last sentence she said feels like a sledgehammer hit straight to your abdomen. As much as you are disappointed that she rejected your homework but you understand her reasoning after you look at how your homework looks. Thanks to Tony and Vision.
“Uh y-yes Ms. Maximoff. I understand. I’ll reprint it. Have a good day.” You agree in defeat. Disappointment written all over your face, you proceed your walk of shame and it softens Wanda’s ego a little.
“You too, y/n. See you in the next class.” She sincerely answers. With that, you walk out with Natasha and your heart smiles from Wanda’s sincere last words. Tony and Vision bombard you with questions in no time. Of course you didn’t forget to thank them in sarcasm for making your homework so crumpled and telling them what happened.
Weirdly, Nat remained mostly silent yet she looks at you with an analytical look and it concerns you. You wonder what she is thinking right now? Were you too obvious that you are having a crush on Wanda?
“Are you okay, Nat?” You ask. “Uh huh. I’m okay.” That was all the answer you got.
_____
You have been trying to find more reasons to tell Nat so you can go to class by yourself once more so you can leave Wanda another love note. This time you can’t come up with any excuse in mind.
At the end of the day, it feels like you finally found a light in this searching tunnel of excuses because Nat told you that she has to leave early to see the professor of the other class she takes to ask some homework related questions and she will see you in class after that. You feel so relieved that you don’t have to look for an excuse anymore and everything will go as you plan. You write another love note for her before you go to bed.
The next morning, you feel so good because you know you don’t have to lie to your best friend so you can go to class separately. Joy dances through your heart. You are excited to see Wanda again and can’t wait to see her smile again while reading your love note. This time you have to sneak into Lab 616.
Despite the excitement and relief feelings that Nat won’t catch you this time because she is busy with her other class stuff, you still watch your surroundings cautiously just in case Tony and Vision are around even though you know they most likely will come at the last minute before the class starts.
As soon as you found the lab, you peaked in quickly to make sure nobody is in there even though you can’t see the whole lab through the small window.
You are too focused on going to her desk to put the note on it. As you walk closer to it, you hear “I KNEW IT!!!”
It startled you and you recognized who it was. You turn around quickly. “Natty! Uh wh-what what are you doing here? I thought you had to see your other class’s professor?” You stammer.
“Oh zip it, y/n. Where is it? Let me see.” She asks as she opens her palms waiting for you to give it to her. “Where is what? What did you mean?” Your heart is still beating fast and you can feel your cheeks are warm from blushing too much because of getting caught but of course you try your luck and play dumb about it.
“The note you write for her. You were gonna leave it on her desk, weren’t you? I can’t believe you didn’t tell me anything about this. I thought we were best friends?” She demands and you can see that she is proud from figuring it out yet disappointed from you not telling her about this.
“I’m sorry Nat. I was going to tell you but I was just embarrassed, I guess?” You nervously explain and take out the note out of your pocket then let her read it. It didn’t even take two seconds for the note to migrate to Nat’s hand and she read it. Her lips move slowly and silently reading your love note then curves up a smile. Nat looks at you with sparkling eyes. “Aaaw! This is a sweet love note. Okay, I won’t be mad at you just because you wrote this so cute and romantic.”
“Really? You think so? Do you think she would like it?” You rambling nervously yet with excitement. “Of course! now go..go..go.. Put it on her desk before someone comes in here.” Nat encourages you to quickly leave the note. She smiles so widely and as if the love note was written for her.
_____
Both of you walk back into the class after waiting outside so it won’t be too obvious. Nat notices you look all nervous. Waiting for Wanda to come in drives you a little crazy. “Would you relax? Geez, you are a nervous wreck right now.” Nat yells in a whisper.
“Uh maybe because I am NERVOUS.” You retort.
“What are you nervous about? The note is cute, she will like it and she won’t find out that it’s from you. If you are like this and stare at her when she reads it like you did last time, then she might find out.” Nat adds with gritted teeth at the last sentence.
“Okay. Okay. I won’t.” You agree with the redhead just so she can stop telling you to relax. Just like what you thought, Vision and Tony come last minute.
A few minutes later, you see Wanda gracefully walk into the lab. “Hello, class.” This time she wears short sleeves, you think it probably has something to do with today's lab activity.
Your eyes clearly refuse to leave the view of her arms flexing when she puts her briefcase-like handbag. You swear you thought that you could feel the smoothness of her skin when you saw her arms and went down to her perfect slender hands, and of course her pretty fingers.
As if Wanda has been excited to come to the class only to find your note for today, her eyes instantly find where the note is and there it is, her smile shows up. Nat’s leg nudges your own as soon as she sees Wanda sits down and grabs the note.
Your heart skips a beat when you see another smile of hers appear. You lay your chin on your palm as you look at her dearly. Your heart is doubled in speed and your hope kindles. You take a deep breath, a joyful deep breath.
Just like yours, Wanda’s heart beats fast, she really hopes that her students don’t hear the sound of it. She is multitasking between reading your note and trying hard not to blush or smile like a fool but she miserably fails.
“Your presence has so much effect on me like a sedative. My legs feel weak everytime I see you and I am one simple touch away from crumbling under your beauty.”
Wanda’s thumb subconsciously and gently rubs the words that you wrote. Her mind starts to day dream and imagines that the person who writes this note was all smiling when she wrote this lovely note and if the person really did, Wanda’s heart longing to see the smile.
She soon focuses back to the class. She stands up and walks up in front of the class as she brushes her palms together excitedly. “Okay, are you guys ready for some fun?” The class cheers and it draws a laugh from her. Her heart subconsciously leads her gaze to you for a few seconds then she averts her eyes to the rest of the class. You feel like a rocket ship that shot up to the sky after hearing her laugh and her gaze pays you a visit. All Nat can do is giggle at you.
“Okay, before we start the fun for today, let’s talk about some more of the beautiful sea life. Let’s start with octopus, shall we?” Wanda starts her lectures as she dim the light and turns on the projector before she proceeds with more explanations. The lectures go really well so far and it’s a fun class today. You are too busy looking at Wanda with hearts in your eyes.
“Before I continue further, is there any question?” Wanda asks with care as she looks around the class making sure if any of her students have questions for her. Once again her eyes uncontrollably look at you briefly until a student raises her hand to ask a question.
“Yes, Kate? Do you have a question?” Wanda asks.
“Yes, Ms. Maximoff. Earlier you said that octopus has multiple brains. How many do they have actually?” The brunette asks and looks ready to take notes from Wanda’s answer.
“Good question! I have the answer here and I can show you.” Wanda answers as she is looking for the projector’s slide picture. Her focus was broken when she heard your voice and when she turned her head she saw you raise your hand. Wanda lets out an annoyed “not again” exhale.
“Yes, y/n?” Wanda answers in sarcasm as her effort not to show you that it is obvious that she is not looking forward to any argument in front of class with you.
“The answer is eight brains.” You confidently answered Kate’s question. Wanda is so baffled with what you just did. She is very unamused with it. No, she is pissed off. You might have thought you were just trying to help since it takes a little longer for Wanda to answer but you just pushed her button. She stares at you furiously, she feels that you disrespected her in front of the class. Nat is as bewildered as Wanda is.
As much as Wanda feels that you have insulted her but she knows she has the card in this game. On her mind, two can play this game. She knows that you have confidently answered with the wrong answer.
Tension builds up and fills the room. The students can see it and they are all waiting what Wanda will say next. Nat’s lips pressed and she literally covered her face with one of her palms briefly once again from the secondhand embarrassment. SHe wants to slap the back of your head, pull you by the collar and yell “what the hell is wrong with you?” but the silence is already too uncomfortable to bear until Wanda decides to answer you with the coldest tone.
“Oh? eight brains, huh? Are you sure, y/n?” Wanda responds.
“Yes,I'm sure. I love octopus. They have eight brains to control each tentacle it has. It’s obvious.” You casually answered but deep down you get nervous as you see Wanda walks closer and closer to your desk in the back row.
“I can see that you love octopus from how confidently you interrupt me on answering Kate’s question but it’s obvious that you don’t know much about octopus for someone who loves them. Because.. your..answer..is..wrong.” She speaks so slowly following the rhythm of her steps but clearly as she finally stands in front of your desk, looking down at you with a killing gaze.
You swallow hard. You look at her furious eyes only for a few seconds then you look at the surroundings that the whole class is actually looking at you. You embarrassed her and she is doing the same thing to you. As soon as you open your mouth to say something, Wanda interrupts you.
“You don’t want to argue with me right now, y/n, because the answer is in fact nine brains. One is the central brain and the other eight are to control each arm. It’s on the textbook page 32, on the last two sentences of the third paragraph. It was quoted from Mr. Fury’s second book.” Her accent becomes thicker and thicker as she finishes the sentences. You can see that Nat and some of the students quickly search the page and paragraphs that were mentioned.
You know you are screwed right now. You lost words. All you want is for the lecture to be done so you can walk out and hide from all of this.
“Now, I’m sure you ‘know’ a lot of facts about octopus since you love them. How many hearts do they have?” Wanda starts her sentence with such sarcasm, totally opposite from her calm yet cold tone and professional mannerism she showed earlier.
The intimidation you got from her makes you barely speak, you even stutter to answer. “Uh-two h–he..” Wanda didn’t let you finish another wrong answer from you. Your brain can’t think and it seems like you have a short term memory loss. “Wrong. They have three hearts.” She corrects you.
“Tell me the functions of the hearts they have.” Wanda demands. Tony and Vision are as frozen as you are. You don’t even blink but you clear your throat to answer. Surprisingly, you can’t find the answer. Just like you did, seeing it takes a little longer for you to answer, she interrupts you with an answer. “Two of the hearts pump blood to the gills and one heart pumps blood through the rest of the body.” Wanda explains once more to show you her position as the class’ professor.
As if it is not enough for her to corner you with this game you started, she asks you one more time. “With all the confidence you have and showed since the very first class, I’m sure you know why octopus has blue blood?” Wanda pauses for a few seconds to let you answer.
“I–uh- I don’t know, Ms. Maximoff. I’m sorry.” And there it is, Wanda finally gets what she wants, you apologize willingly in defeat in front of the class.
“They have blue blood because they have to adapt with cold water with little oxygen using a copper rich protein that’s called Hemocyanin. This protein is responsible for transporting oxygen to blood plasma.” As soon as she is done talking about it, she looks down at you who now lower your head down, you don’t even dare to look at her because you know you just did the same mistake. She then looks between Vision, Nat and Tony shortly before she turns around and walks back to her desk.
For a few seconds, Wanda’s mind ponders if she was too harsh on you. She knows that her ego and anger gets the best of her but right now all she can do is to continue the lecture.
Soon the tension slowly fades. Wanda leads the class to check on some fish, dissect some starfish and even show them bone structures of particular fish. It was a bit of a mess but the class had fun despite what happened earlier.
As the time of the lecture is almost out, Wanda assigns some homework and dismisses the class. “Y/n, I want you to stay to clean the lab.” Wanda orders as soon as she sees you and three of your best friends stand up to leave the class.
As much as you don’t want to do it, you know better not to complain and agree. “Yes, Ms. Maximoff.” Tony, Vision and Nat leave after you told them you will see them later.
With a heavy heart and lots of guilt, you start cleaning up the lab. Silence came back once more and easily filled the lab back. To your surprise, Wanda stays in the lab and does some work at her desk. Awkward silence definitely roams around between you and her.
Pt. 3

Been a hot minute since I’ve been on here, but I scribbled these down and figured I’d share! This is my first fully-formed clone squad known as Shatter Squad. The Shatter Squad is within the 501st, if that wasn't clear by the color. Some of those in the squad are transfers, such as Bonesaw and the twins (Tripwire and Deadbeat), while the others were put into the squad from the get-go. Some of these designs aren't exactly all in the same timeframe during their story. For example, Trip's design is actually a future version of him, while the others are mostly when the squad was freshly put together. Confusing? Yeah. I'm just a tad lazy and didn't want to change it lol I have some basic info down below of some of the members, if you want to have a read. If not, I hope you liked the doodles!
Coil is the leader of the squad, but I haven't decided on a rank for him yet. He's a pretty serious guy most of the time. On the rare occasion that they have extended downtime or go to 79's, he's much more loose and open to jokes. He got his name when someone from his batch complained about him being "tightly wound like a coil". It stuck. Bonesaw is a medic, and a damn good one at that. He is actually pretty snarky, sarcastic, and so, so very smug. When he's actually peeved at someone though he has a great resting bitch face. He enjoys verbally tearing into someone if they've done something stupid and got injured for it. A nat-born medic called him Bonesaw once because of his very good ability to verbally maul someone. Kept the name because he thought it was badass. Tripwire is the team's trap-setter and infiltration-leader. Very efficient in his work- super thorough and good at shifting plans on the fly. His name was originally Livewire, but it ended up shifting to Tripwire because he is prone to being "tripped" when someone hits a nerve. He's Deadbeat's twin (they were made in the same decanting chamber). (Bit of a note here regarding his future stuff. His eye is made out of recycled assassin droid parts and both of his forearms have been replaced with prostheses. I won't get into spoiler lore because...that'd be no fun. I'll write it out eventually but until then, my lips are sealed.) Deadbeat is the team's heavy weapons guy, with the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon being his firearm of choice. The poor guy can't stand shinies: they ask him too many questions, and he hates how arrogant most of them end up being. His name was given to him as a joke, and he was too indifferent towards it to look for a replacement.
Flint is the team's electronics expert. Absolutely a prodigy when it comes to tech and loves to tinker whenever he can. His name comes from his ability to go from kind and soft to prickly and sharp. Most of the time he's pretty passive and complacent, but if he's worn down enough he'll make jabs at pretty much anyone. He can only take so much shit from people before he'll throw self restraint out the window and fire back. Oh, and he's also an ARC trooper- so there's that.
Bombshell is the final member of the team, and is the explosives expert (note, he does already have a post of his own, so you can go and check that out if you want). Anyway, he's blue-yellow colorblind and this has led to a few funny moments during his time as a shiny. He got his name when Bonesaw made a comment that he was practically a factory with the amount of bombshells he kept dropping on the team. He liked the word, so he took it and kept it as his name.

Germany's anti-Semitism expert insists that saying Israel is adopting Apartheid policies is "inherently anti-Semitic." But South African Jews who have immigrated to Israel find themselves in agreement: these policies match what we recall. Benjamin Pogrund: I’ve lived through it before: grabbing power, fascism and racism, destroying democracy. Israel is going where South Africa was 75 years ago. It’s like watching the replay of a horror movie. In 1948, as a teenager in Cape Town, I followed the results of the May 26 election on a giant board on a newspaper building. The winner-takes-all electoral system produced distorted results: the Afrikaner Nationalist party, with its smaller partner, won 79 parliamentary seats against 74 for the United Party and its smaller partner. But the Nats, as they were called, in fact won only 37.7 percent of the vote against the opposition’s 49.18 percent. Although the opposition got more than 11 percent more votes, the Nats said they had a majority and could do what they wanted.
In the Israel of 2023, I'm reliving some of these same experiences. Our proportional election system can distort results as well: last November, Likud, with its smaller partners, won 64 seats against 56 for the opposition. In fact, the right-wing bloc won by only 0.6 percent of the vote. The 0.6 percent government says that it represents the will of the majority and can do whatever it wants. It goes on saying this even though a poll from the Israel Democracy Institute shows that less than one-third of Israelis back its law to end the so-called reasonableness standard, which allowed the High Court to overturn government decisions it deemed unreasonable.

"Alright, say night to Dad" Natalia told Evie, after she had finished telling him about her day.
"Night Dad, I love and miss you." The eight year old said into the radio.
"Night, sweetheart, I'm gonna see ya soon, alright, promise." His voice came through. "I love ya."
A year and a half had passed since the fall of the Saviours, all the communities had been rebuilt.
Rick had asked Daryl to be the new leader of the Sanctuary, telling him that he was the best person for the job, he had even said about Natalia and Evie moving there as well, when Natalia had a few choice words for him, still pissed at the man, and then to have the audacity to even request what he did.
Daryl had accepted, even though she knew he didn't want to go back there, to leave his family, who he had said were to stay in Alexandria, he wasn't gonna have Evie nowhere near the place.
Of course Natalia had to stay with her, though she hated the idea of him leaving without her, they had got long range radios, to stay in touch every night
Eugene and Rosita had gone with him, much to Tara's disappointment, who had formed a relationship with the latter, and a budding friendship with the former. Natalia would be lying if she said she hadn't been sensing something brewing between the two women, she was happy for them.
Natalia visited the Sanctuary when she could, though it was sparsely that she could find the time, when she did stay at the Sanctuary, the married couple only had one thing on their mind, and It wasn't sleeping.
Daryl had become an expert in taking care of Natalia's body, he was a fast learner, even though she claimed that his first time was the best she'd had with anybody.
"You still there, baby?" Daryl asked, when Natalia made her way to her own room.
"Yeah, was just closing Eves door." She said. "I miss you."
"Miss you, too. But we're gonna see each other tomorrow, you still coming to DC?"
"Hell yeah, babe, it's a fucking museum, you know how cool that is? Me and my mom went for my sixteenth, they have this well cool floor that's completely made of glass, you can stand right above it and look down at the cool shit."
"God, you're such a nerd." He sighed as she got into bed.
"Hey, says the person who's probably flicking through a manual about bike parts, right as we speak."
"Ain't doing that." She could hear the pages folding shut and the sound of him tossing it."
"Mhm yeah, I'm sure." She rolled her eyes. "I think I'm gonna see Siddiq before I head off though."
"You still not feeling alright?" He asked. "You sure you should come?"
"Yeah, I don't know, just wanna make sure I get it checked out, it's nothing major, Evie hasn't caught it so it's not like contagious or anything."
Natalia had been feeling rough for a few weeks now, she didn't know what it was, but she'd start to feel nauseous, and wondered if it was because of her lack of appetite recently, she didn't know what kind of cold was developing, or maybe it was a new allergy.
"I think I'm gonna talk to Rick about coming home, maybe let Rosita take over, I wanna be with you and Eves, I'm missing too much."
"I agree, I hate going to sleep and waking up without you, and Evie's growing up too fast, I can't believe she's going to be nine in a few months."
"I know, I hate it too, I needa be with my girls."
"I love you." She said, clicking the radio as she got settled under the covers,
"I love you so much, baby." He responded, she could hear the raspiness in his voice. "Get some sleep, I'll see ya tomorrow, pretty girl."
She laughed at the nickname, making a mwah sound into the radio before setting it on the bedside table beside her, hugging the pillow tightly as she thought about her husband.
"Hey, Nat. You alright?" Siddiq asked, when she walked into the infirmary, Evie was at Rick and Michonne's having breakfast with Judith.
"Yeah, was wondering if I could have a quick check up before we head out." She told him.
"Yeah, of course, is there any reason in particular you think you may need one?" He asked as he washed his hands.
"Uh, not really, I think I'm developing a new allergy or something, I don't know what to, it's like not as severe as the nut one, though." She said, sitting on a bed to be examined.
"Can you tell me a few of the symptoms? Any rashes, uncomfortableness?" Siddiq picked up a clipboard and a pen, so he could write it all down.
"Uh, no physical stuff, nah, but like, shortness of breath, nausea, been told I've been acting like a bitch a lot more." She laughed. "Uhm, stomach cramps, swelling... or bloating?"
"Stomach cramps, swelling and nausea?" Siddiq looked up at her. "Natalia, are you-"
"Pregnant, hell no" She shook her head. "Trust me, I'm not, no chance I could be." Natalia assured. "Me and Daryl haven't exactly had a lot of time together, we haven't... been intimate for a while." She admitted, feeling awkward talking about her sex life with her husband, even though Siddiq was a doctor, and probably knew full well that they most likely slept together, when given the chance. "Trust me, we do not want any babies as it is, Evie is enough, and it's not exactly like we can coparent a new born between here and the Sanctuary."
"Well, if you're 100% certain." He wasn't. "I'll do a check up, but if you think it's allergies, I wanna do a blood test, see if it's anything else, anything that could cause the swelling, could be endometriosis, cysts, y'know. if something's up, it'll come up in that."
"Ugh, I hate blood tests." Natalia groaned, laying out her arm.
When he had done the test, Siddiq had given her a lollypop, which she accepted.
"I'll radio when I get the results."
"Alright, thank you, I'll be on channel 6, use that one." Natalia said, changing the channel as he taped up her vein with a cotton swab. "It's nothing, right?"
"Yeah, shouldn't be anything life threating, but if it is, I'll let you know as soon as I do, hey, be safe out there."
"I will, I always do."
When Daryl had turned his bike off, Natalia was running for him, embracing the man as she jumped into his arms.
"Hey, baby!" She squealed into his shoulder.
"Missed ya" He told her, holding the woman tightly.
They were in the middle of DC, Rick and Michonne had already taken care of any walkers that were around as everyone got ready to head into the museum or reuniting with their loved ones.
"Did ya see Siddiq?" He asked, sliding a finger into her belt loop, holding her to him.
"Yeah, did a blood test, though he thinks it's all fine, but he's gonna let me know what's up." She answered, waving her radio before tucking it back onto her belt.
Rick opened the door of the large building, and Michonne dealt with the walker that came out.
"We're good for now." She whispered to the group of people, checking through the gap between the door. "Sweep protocol when we get in."
Rick opened the door wider, letting Michonne enter as the others followed.
They silently took out any walkers that they might find.
It looked like they had set up camp before they turned.
"Y'all got your lists." Rick said, lowly, "Circle back here when you're done. Be safe."
They had got to the place Natalia was talking about on the radio the night before.
"This is gonna work." Maggie smiled, her, Michonne, Cyndi, Carol, Ezekiel, Natalia and Daryl stood around the glass, looking around the old building.
"Ain't as cool as you made out." Daryl said to Natalia, looking down at the herd of walkers below them.
"Used to be." She muttered, heading for the stairs.
"Heads up!" Cyndi called, as Maggie and Michonne walked across, heading for the stairs, bits of the banister from above crumbled, falling below as they raced for the stone steps.
A walker had fallen down as well, being impaled by a large metal rod.
The glass hadn't shattered but the walker was still alive, until Daryl shot at it with his crossbow.
"Onward." Ezekiel said. "We'll figure it out."
They continued up the steps.
They got to the second floor, instead of doing what she was meant to, like the rest, Natalia gazed upon the exhibits, reminding herself of her childhood with her mom.
She looked up, a wide grin on her face as she met Daryl's eyes from across the place, who was helping Cyndi with a boat.
A small smile tugged on his lips as he looked at her, reminding himself to talk to Rick later about going back to Alexandria.
"Hey, Nat, you gonna help us out or prepare yourself for a pop quiz?" Michonne called.
"But-" She let out a groan, pulling herself away from a pirate exhibit and following after Michonne, Maggie and Carol, "Fine." Natalia let out a grumble.
"So, he called for a election?" Michonne asked Maggie, when she had explained what was going on at The Hilltop.
"The one great idea Gregory's had." Maggie said.
"So he could just watch himself lose, again?" Natalia raised a brow. "Can't believe he'd actually think people was gonna vote for him."
"He still sore about the results?" Carol wondered.
"I don't know. He's being friendly. It's weird, honestly." She answered.
"The rebirth of democracy... by that guy." Michonne teased. "Who'd have thought?"
"Meanwhile, I live with a King." Carol joked, Michonne and Natalia laughed at her.
"But it works, right?" Maggie asked.
"People seem to like it."
"That make you Queen Carol?" Natalia wiggled her brows.
"Don't" She pointed at her, though she had a smirk on her face.
Michonne had stopped, staring up at a large poster.
A MORE PERFECT UNION was in large red letters.
"My mom had to drag me away from reading the whole thing." Natalia sighed, standing with her. "Maybe we should take it."
"How the hell would we get that off the wall and all the way home?"
"Here we go." Maggie said when they had reached what they were looking for. "Our blacksmith can use those as a model to make more. And we can send one to the Sanctuary, try to fix things there."
"I'm glad you won your election." Michonne commented as they looked at the old plow.
"I'm glad I grew up on a farm."
It had taken everyone's help to attempt to get a large wagon down the steps of the Museum, and over the glass floor.
"Last step. Easy." Rick called as they tightened their grip on the rope.
A metal thing on the bottom was dragging, hitting the glass.
"All right, hold, hold, hold." He said.
"What do you think we're doing?" Natalia groaned, straining in order to not fall down the steps.
"So far so good, we're almost there." He said.
Rick took the first step onto the glass, a rope tied around his waist as he tested his weight, it was stable enough. He walked along the metal frames, just in case.
"Let's go." He said, when he was sure it was stable.
They inched down the steps carefully, making sure not to let go of the rope.
"Woah."
"Easy, woah woah woah." Rick called as it started to wobble.
"Woah, woah, woah." Carol repeated.
"Okay. All right."
"Watch your fingers." Michonne reminded.
"Last step." Rick said.
"One more."
"Hold. Hold." He said, as the wagon thudded to the ground.
The glass was starting to crack under the weight as they turned the wagon towards the exit.
They managed to get it over though.
Maggie tied the rope around her as she prepared to join them, picking up the metal frame with Cyndi, carrying it across.
Daryl whistled for Rick to make his way back over with him and Natalia, to help carry the canoe, he joined and they carried it backwards whilst she waited on the steps.
"Be careful." She said, her heart felt like it was beating a hundred miles a minute.
"No sudden moves. Just keep going nice and slow." Rick instructed.
Carol and Ezekiel managed to grab the last thing, bringing it over.
"Alright, Nat, it's just you now, you got this." Rick said, gesturing for her to walk over the glass.
"This definitely isn't as cool as the first time I was here." She muttered, tightening the rope around her waist a she took slow steps across the glass, which was a lot more fragile and cracked after all the weight transported over it.
"You got it, baby, just look at me, you got it." Daryl clapped his hands together.
Natalia took deep breathes as she walked, as though it were a tight rope.
"Woah, woah hold on." Rick called, as it started to crack around her.
She froze, staring down.
"Nat." The radio on her hip crackled, the voice of Siddiq came through.
"Not a good time." She whispered in a high pitch voice.
"You gotta keep coming, quick." Michonne told her. "Come on, not that far."
"Natalia. You're pregnant." Siddiq's voice came through again.
The glass broke, sending her falling through.
She screamed as she fell through the air, walkers reaching up, trying to grab her as she swung, still attached by the rope.
"Nat!" Daryl shouted, going to dive for her, but Rick stopped him as they attempted to pull her up as she kicked and flung away from the hungry walkers.
The walkers grabbed a hold of her, trying to yank the woman down, but wasn't able, as the others tugged on the rope, trying to pull her out.
An arrow flew into the head of the walker that had a hold of her leg, about to chomp into her skin.
They had managed to get her out, she clung to the glass as she pulled herself up, falling on a soft cushion.
Daryl yanked her up and away, checking her over.
"Fuck." She let out a shaky breath. "That was a close one."
"You okay?" Daryl asked, his eyes full of worry as he held her.
She didn't answer, instead leaned away from him, doubling over as she emptied her stomach, the smell was unbearable and seemed to be stuck in her nose.
Daryl held her ponytail, rubbing her back as she gagged.
When Natalia stood up again, he wiped her mouth with his rag, his thumb wiping away the tears.
"Natalia." Enid breathed, the others had been staring at her since they knew she was safe.
"Did I just hear Siddiq say you were pregnant?" Carol asked, before Enid got the chance to say it.
"What?!" Her eyes bulged, she had missed that when she fell to her near fatal death.
"You're- You're... pre-"
Natalia pulled away from Daryl, grabbing her walkie talkie
"Siddiq?!" She called through it, as Daryl stared after her, his jaw dropped.
Michonne and Maggie followed her after she marched outside.
"Siddiq, fucking answer." She cursed.
"Nat." Michonne called.
"Hey, you had me worried when you didn't answer." Siddiq's voice came through the rectangle box.
"Sorry, was a little busy falling to my death." She replied, crouching down against the side of the building.
Rick had ordered everyone to get sorted so they could leave, whilst he and Carol attempted to snap Daryl out of his freeze.
Michonne and Maggie had sat on either side of Natalia, ready in case she broke down or something, this definitely was not on the cards for her.
"You what?" Siddiq asked after a moment.
"Don't worry about it, what did you say?" She was urgent.
"Nat." He sighed, he knew she wasn't going to be happy. "You're pregnant.... with twins."
She felt sick again.
Natalia dropped the radio as she heaved once more, this time, Maggie rubbed her back as she gathered her hair.
"Huh?" Michonne said, speaking into the radio as she caught it before it could hit the floor. "How do you know?"
"It came up in her blood, you can tell how many there are. How is she?"
"Not taking it well." Michonne replied.
"I'm gonna die, it's gonna kill me." Natalia muttered. "I'm dead."
"You're not gonna die." Maggie told her. "Hey, I had Hershel, and he's perfectly healthy, we got good doctors, we're better than we were before."
"Yeah, it's gonna be okay." Michonne joined in.
"You only had one baby, Maggie, he said... he said.... two, no, I- my life is over, he's gonna hate me, we didn't want this, this is, gimme the radio."
She snatched it out of Michonne's hands.
"Are you hundred percent sure?" She asked into the radio.
"Natalia, yes." He answered.
"Get ready to do another blood test, for when I get back." She told him.
"There's no point, it'll come up with the same result."
"I don't care, you're gonna do another."
"Nat. It's going to be okay." Michonne forced, taking the walkie back.
"No, we didn't want this, he didn't want this, I've ruined my life as well as his, it's over, I don't have time for a baby, let alone two!"
"Who? Daryl? He's not gonna hate you." Michonne told her.
"Not even possible." Maggie agreed. "I don't think he's actually able to, even if he did want to."
"It's a setback, but you guys are gonna be okay, everything's gonna be fine."
"How, Michonne, we don't even have time to be together!" Natalia said.
Carol had given Daryl advise on how to be supportive for Natalia, when she came back to the front, he was freaking out himself, but knew she was gonna be way worse, she had to get through nine months before he even had to deal with a baby.
They had briefly spoke about it only a few times, they were both happily together, and on the same page that Judith and Hershel were enough kids around, as well as their own daughter, Evie even if she had only been in their care for nearly two years.
"Hey, I'm sorry, okay." He was sorry for getting her knocked up.
"Uhm..." She swallowed, feeling uncomfortable with the much larger group of people that had gathered around, Jesus and Tara included, and the word had spread quickly. "Its not your fault, I didn't think It was still capable, I'm sorry, actually."
"It's gonna be alright." He assured her. "We can take care of a baby, you done it before, we can handle it."
"Daryl" She leaned up on her tip toes, whispering in his ear as her hands shook. "It's twins."
She was scared he was going to pass out when all the colour drained from his face.
He gulped.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Twuh- twins? Are you sure?"
She nodded, a frown on her face.
"I'm sorry." She told him.
"Nah, no. Uh, we're, we're gonna talk about this later, alright, we gotta get you back, safe." He held her, kissing her head as a million thoughts raced through his own head.
"A congratulations is in order." Ezekiel came bounding towards them, patting Daryl on the back, even though Carol had tried pulling her boyfriend away. "To the young Dixon!"
The couple stared at him, neither one looked happy about the recent news.
Eventually they had made their way back, Natalia hadn't said a word as she sat beside Maggie, lost in thought, thinking about how they shouldn't of helped her out of the broken glass.
Daryl had rode ahead, finding Rosita, and they had both come back, her riding on her quad bike.
"Two other herds merged in "Silvia", so now it's even bigger. One of them came through here and the back end took down the bridge." She explained, as they all looked at the damage. "Took the walkie repeater with it."
"What about Route A?" Daryl asked. "Is that clear yet?"
"It's still too close to the herd."
"We can get to Alexandria from this side, stay there till it passes." Michonne suggested.
"No." Maggie answered. "Route A has taken days to clear before. I need to get home to Hershel."
"We could take Route D. It's early enough in the day." Carol said.
"Keep an eye on the trade road." Rick instructed. "In case anyone tries to move through. Gabriel, y'all can head back to Alexandria from here. The rest of us, we can go to the Sanctuary or Hilltop, stay the night, and head off from there. Take care. Get home safe."
"You should go with him." Daryl told Natalia.
"No." She shook her head. "Evie will be fine for the night, I'm staying with you."
"But-" He was looking at her stomach.
"Don't, I'm not arguing about it, I'm staying with you, so we can sort this mess out."
They had continued on.
"Rick, the horses can't pull the wagon out of the mud." Michonne said.
"Maggie, I think they need a break." Ken told his leader, the horses were getting anxious, jumpy.
"Maybe we should leave the supplies, send a group back in a day or two." Maggie suggested.
"It's risky." Michonne replied. "We've seen herds run through bigger things than this."
"We can swap out the horses, split up, take 'em out in the clear, give 'em a rest while we see what we can do about the trailers." Rick said.
"One, two, three."
They were attempting the pull the wagon out of the mud, they had also suggested Natalia should sit out, they'd only known for less than half a day and already treating her like she was fine china.
"Nothing is gonna change in a few hours, was doing this earlier." She had told them, before grabbing the rope.
"Rick." Michonne called.
Walkers were headed for them.
"We're almost there." Ezekiel said, he was the one pushing the wagon.
"One more time. One, two, three." Rick counted down.
They had managed to do it.
"Phew, I shoulda taken the opportunity." Natalia sighed, wiping her brow.
"You okay?" Daryl was quick to assess her.
"Yeah, fine." She looked at him, couldn't even joke around anymore, apparently.
"Good. Let's get out of here." Rick said, as the walkers were drawing nearer.
He ran ahead to help Ezekiel load up the wagon.
"Daryl, Michonne." He nodded at the few walkers reaching them
"On it." She answered, drawing her sword as Daryl flipped his knife, walking towards the closest ones.
Natalia pulled out her knife to help as well.
Walkers were approaching from the tree's as well, heading for the horses, Marco and Ken were occupied setting them free, when one was, he ran away.
"We gotta go." Rick told them. "Leave the wagon!" He said to Ken, who was still helping a horse get free.
Daryl pulled him away.
"No!" He turned back. "I gotta free her!"
"Ken, wait!" Rick called after him.
He cut the ties of the horse, setting her free, but before he could run back, a walker had grabbed a hold of him, chomping into the boys arm, then the horse kicked him down.
Natalia ran ahead, stabbing her knife into the walkers head, pulling it away from the unconscious Ken.
"Come on!" Rick said, they had got him with the others, Siddiq meeting up with them.
"They're gonna fix it. You're gonna be all alright." Marco told Ken as he started waking up.
Siddiq had amputated his arm and it was bleeding profusely.
"We'll keep the walkers away." Rick told the doctor.
"Okay. Enid, get the quick clot and a and a tourniquet." He instructed as the others got up to take out the gathering walkers.
It was no use, he hadn't made it, Maggie looked up as she cried for one of her people.
Ken was dead, and Maggie put him down.
Maggie had returned back to the Hilltop with Ken's body and her people, whilst the others left for the Sanctuary.
"Rick Grimes is here!" Mel called, as they entered, all the people of the Sanctuary stood at their stations, candles were lit along the place.
"That's the man that ended the war. Is Negan suffering? I hope he damn well is." Another asked Rick.
"Hello." Eugene greeted Daryl, Natalia was walking beside him. "All was well in your absence, other than a certain cabal of Saviours slingin' me some serious stink-eye, but I've compiled a list of items that need your semi-immediate attention."
"Not now, man." Daryl told him.
"I checked out the supplies." Laura joined them, since the fall of Negan, she had tried hard to get on the good side of her leaders wife, Natalia still didn't like her, but had noticed how she looked up to the both of them, she'd grown a lot kinder as well, not just in her personality, but in her looks as well. "It's a pretty good haul. You should let everybody know."
"I ain't getting up on a stage and giving a damn speech like him." He told her "It's bad timing. We just lost someone out there. I got other stuff I gotta figure out as well."
"Daryl." Michonne called, noticing something. "Does this happen often?"
Someone had graffitied the wall.
SAVIOURS SAVE US! WE ARE STILL NEGAN Was wrote on it.
"More an' more since the crops been dying." He told her. "Eugene, Jerry! You know who did that?"
"Don't know, man." Jerry answered.
"That would be a negative."
"Justin, clean that up." He told one of the Saviours, who had been a pain in the ass for the man, he was an idiot and he was obnoxious, Natalia strongly hated him.
"How?" He asked.
"How do you think, dumbass? Get some soap and water, scrub it., Paint over it, if you have to" Natalia told him, she was having an extremely bad day.
"We just used up all the paint." He shrugged.
"Figure it out." Daryl chimed in.
He sighed, putting down the book as he got up from his seat, walking away, his posture was lazy.
Rick had started a meet and greet with the people, shaking their hands.
"You see our crops, Rick?" The same man from earlier, asked.
"I did." He answered.
"The spring storms will be here in a few weeks, help us out, but we need a boost in the meantime."
"And you'll have it." He turned to speak to everyone. "We came back with farming tools, heirloom seeds. We're looking to the past to help us with the present. We're all gonna pitch in and make sure that Sanctuary has what it needs so you all can get back on your feet."
"Bless you, Rick Grimes. Thank you."
They applauded him.
"Guys such a martyr, why don't he take over the place" Natalia scowled, muttering to Daryl, away from everyone else.
He looked over to them, heading over.
"I'm gonna talk to him." He kissed her temple. "Then we're gonna talk."
"Guessing it ain't about my normal visits." She scoffed.
"Your visits is the reason we gotta talk." He told her, walking away
Natalia had waited for him outside, staring at the spot where Fat Joey had been killed all that time ago, she really did hate being here, and she knew he felt the same.
Eventually he came out, sitting down beside her and she instantly leaned her head on his arm.
"What he say?"
"That if I wanna come home, someone's gotta take my place, Eugene an' Rosita going Oceanside, so they're out."
"But, what about..." She looked down.
"Told him that, don't make a difference."
"I really am sorry, Daryl, I know we didn't want this, I didn't exactly mean to."
"Don't be stupid, it was a group effort, how'd you know there's two in there anyway?" He still had not wrapped his head around the word twins, neither of them had, and they were both feeling glum about it, compared to everyone else, who reminded them of how happy they were for the couple, any chance they had that day, acting like it was a rainbow on a stormy day.
"Siddiq said you can tell by the blood or whatever, I don't know, I thought I was just eating good. When was the last time we even had sex?"
Daryl thought for a moment.
"...A while." He looked at her as they swallowed thickly.
"I'd say over two months." She stared ahead, dropping her head into her hands.
Daryl rifled through his pocket, pulling out a cigarette, placing it between his lips as he lit it, he had no intention of sharing with Natalia, even though she needed it just as much as he did.
"It'll be alright, we'll figure it all out, we have to."
"Easy for you to say, Daryl, two babies, inside me, growing, then eventually, they're gonna come out." She groaned, though it was muffled.
Carol had joined them outside.
Daryl offered her the cigarette, which she took, before dropping it to the floor and stomping on it.
"The babies." She said, as Natalia still had her face in her hands. "Those things'll kill all of you."
She then sat down beside him.
"Why aren't you in bed?" He asked her.
"Wanted to see how the both of you were doing, by the looks of it, not great. " She looked at the woman.
Natalia let out another muffled groan of frustration.
"I'm happy for the both of you, even if you're not, this is a gift."
"Easy for you to say" Natalia looked up. "I'll trade with you, you and Ezekiel will do great, have them."
"Nah, I can't wait to be their favourite aunt, they can be little princes or princesses in the Kingdom, how's Evie going to take this?"
"I don't know, why?" Daryl asked her.
"She might feel left out." Carol said. "She's getting older, and, maybe the idea of you having your own kids might scare her, make her feel like she's being kicked out."
"Then we'll have to remind her that these were accidents and that we were perfectly happy with just her." Natalia dropped her face back into her hands, falling to lay on her back, the thing that had caused her current dilemma.
"Daryl." Carol said.
"Hmm?"
"I want to take over here for awhile, for you, and don't argue."
Natalia used her elbows to prop herself up.
"So you and Natalia can figure things out, for the babies, god knows I wanted Ed around when were having Sophia, a little help would've been nice."
"You gonna bring Henry and the King with you?" Daryl asked her.
"I haven't told him yet." She answered. "He asked me to marry him." Carol sighed
"What?" Natalia gasped, fully invested in her statement.
"Yeah. And part of me wanted to just say "yes" right then."
"Why didn't you?" Daryl asked.
"I don't know. I want to help out, take my time, you know?"
"You want me to stay here with you?" Daryl offered.
"No. The both of you need to be together, for these two. You showing yet?"
"Carol, I found out the same time you did." She lifted her shirt, still propped up by her elbows, "I thought I was just bloated, allergies or something."
There was no bump, just yet, but it was starting to form, if she hadn't done some investigation she sure would've found out soon enough.
"Oh God, I am pregnant." She whined, dropping all the way back, her arms covering her face.
"You're already glowing." Carol teased as Daryl looked at her stomach, gulping, he was gonna be a dad, to new born's, one's he actually had to raise from birth, until Evie chose him, he'd never even thought about having kids, his own father scared him from that idea a very long time ago.

Some questions if you’re willing:
1) besides Sereshaw/Hangster what pairings are your favorite in the TG universe?
2) have you considered writing your own version of what you would like the plot of Top Gun 3 to be?
3) pretending you had all the time in the world to write what’s the top five universes you would explore?
4) Ex Coach Rogers From IWBWY, any chance he ever gets his comeuppance? I know he was fired but is there ever a full on Bradshaw family mama bear style beat down on that jerk for trying to hurt Jake?
5) Vegas lol?
Thanks for all your contributions to this fandom. I don’t think I need to tell you how much I adore your stories!!! And for your kindness when I spam your messages with all my nonsense lol
Friend!! I'm always willing <3
1000% my fave other couple is Carole/Goose. I love some old school icemav, some Javy/Nat, some Bob/Nat. I can get behind a lot of them actually.
I have a super angsty, beautiful, heart wrecking redemption type post canon story in my head that one day I'll tackle, but it's not anything I think they'd actually make or even that I'd want them to make lmao. So probably not- I like my little AU worlds too much (but I do have a plot in mind I'd love to see. Give us the daggers in a squad OR give us Hangman and Rooster who are now on a squad together as wingmen and they have to call in Mav for 'one last ride' before he retires for good for some insane mission. Ideally though I want all the daggers back sigh.)
I WISH. Someone fund me so I don't have to work lmao I'll write all day happily. Okay so 1) the offer/mob universe which is coming soon 2) boxerina universe also coming soon 3) a world where they're rivals at a research station in antarctica feat. survival expert bradley and scientist jake 4) i'd actually love to write a straight up horror movie plot 5) a bonnie and clyde style world very loosely inspired by hit man that would be really fun
Rogers gets his in the form of Karma a la TSwift, but you know who we might see again? Maybe not how you'd imagine? Donny :)
IT'S STILL A MAYBE. I'm trying so hard to convince myself to be good and stay in KC and go to the watch party downtown, but I'm also like.....I could see Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera and go to the Super Bowl Experience Saturday and also Chiefs/T Swift/the Tellers and and- ugh hahaha maybe.
You're so sweet <3 I'm always happy to get your messages. Thank you for always being so supportive and wonderful.

I saw your "tell me about your dnd characters" post and didn't want to spam comments BUT one of my favorites of my characters is my half-elf arcane trickster rogue. Her backstory is she's a jewel thief that was hired out to do a heist with her partner-in-crime/lover, but the people who hired them knew that whoever touched the jewel would get imprisoned in it so her lover was trapped and eventually smashed, RIP (-- we love a good revenge motivator though) She took the Crossbow Expert feat (can wield two hand crossbows, ignore loading, some other stuff you can Google -- I HIGHLY recommend it for ranged chars) and had sneak attack so she did hella damage at a high level. I rolled a nat 20 during the final boss fight of a YEARS LONG campaign and everyone at the table had to help me count the 20-something d6s. She delivered the killing blow on the BBEG with that roll -- very "and everyone clapped" of me, but that's exactly what happened and it was so satisfying lmao My favorite part about her though is the fact that I was new to the group and literally session 1 the DM pulled me aside for a secrets/player consent talk to tell me that my character had contracted lycanthropy after a fight. He was really apologetic and was like "we can retcon" but I thought it was hilarious, so she became a were-rat. She'd shift into rat mode and hide in the bard's pocket to pop out for shenanigans/crime, and rather than cure her lycanthropy she kept it as an asset to her thievery 🐀
first of all, love the backstory, i envy anyone who can come up with a compelling tragic past event that motivates their character going forward.
my friend is playing a rogue in our campaign atm, but i think he went for the thief archetype. but i've seen the powers of a sneak attack + a bunch of other halfling abilities.
the thing with the natural 20 delivering the final blow sounds dope as hell, i'm sure it was wild. i'm still waiting for my nat 20s to come through when it actually matters lmao.
i'm obsessed with your character contracting rat lycanthropy, i might need to mention that during my next session meeting. my dm tends to throw a lot of shit my character's way while being very apologetic about it but i also just take it with humor. a lot of the stuff my character goes through is pretty fucking funny too.
thanks for sending this ask btw!!! :)

Pottery date for nat and lamia maybe?
Thank you!! This isn't the usual pottery date, but I hope you like it (and also that you don't mind that I'm using the prompt for the OC Kiss Week day 3: nostalgia)
Short spin-off for Natalie Sewell or the modern Pygmalion (read on AO3)
Pottery date, making their own homemade gifts for the other (+AO3 link)
Spring in Wayhaven was a beautiful sight. Nat had mentioned it to Lamia a few times in the last few days, but, she, used to the blooming flowers and the joyful chatter, just said that it looked the same it always did. She was probably right, Nat thought while waiting outside of the workshop. After all, she had seen those same trees lose their leaves thirty times by then, how could it be as impressive to her as it was to Nat?
However, when she turned to the store window, she was as transfixed on the details of the ceramic work as she was the first time she was close to a ceramist for the first time, even though that happened more than 300 years ago. She still got lost in the delicate details of the lusterware and the bright colours of amateur mugs, to the point she didn’t notice Lamia approaching her until she was right by her side.
“I’ve wanted to give pottery a try since this store opened,” Lamia stated as a greeting.
“It took you long enough,” Nat replied, smiling.
“I was waiting for the right company.” Lamia leaned in to kiss Nat’s cheek and took her hand, before leading her inside. She was wearing her favourite hijab neatly pinned so it wouldn’t get in the way of their lesson, matching the blush toned scarf with a long vest and wide pants. Only she could choose a white sweater for a pottery class, thought Nat, trying to hide a chuckle.
“So,” whispered Lamia as everyone was taking their seats, “any tips for beginners?”
“Me? I know as much as you do.”
“Really? I was hoping for some help from an expert,” Lamia sighed, looking less confidently at her block of clay.
“Sorry to disappoint you, but I was more interested in sculpting back then.”
“Of course you were.” Lamia rolled her eyes fondly at her. “Is there that much of a difference?”
“Just enough, I suppose. It will be nice to be an apprentice again.”
“How long has it been since the last time you were in an atelier?”
Lamia scooted over her chair to get closer, genuinely curious about what Nat might say. She knew the vampire didn’t usually share too much of her past, so, during conversations like that one, she would gently push for any nugget of information. Nat was aware of her need to know her story, all of it, and, although it melted her heart only to think about it, there was something holding her back from saying anything that could detangle her past for her. They didn’t know each other for a long time, even if it felt like a lifetime. What was a year in eternity?
“Seven years,” Nat finally confessed. She knew Lamia was waiting for more, but she couldn’t bring herself to it. What would she think after she heard the story? Would she still see her the same way? What if she hurt Lamia by showing her what was left of her memories of Galatea?
Luckily, she didn’t need to look for an excuse. The owner of the store caught everyone’s attention with a cheerful introduction and Lamia went back to her place, not after gently squeezing Nat’s hand. She would wait until she was ready.
It turned out that the pottery lesson wasn’t extremely complicated. Nat worked with ease in creating gradually longer cylinders of clay and then piled them up until she got a decent sized bowl. She then blended them together with a tool shaped like a half moon until all sides were only slightly uneven. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but Nat was surprised her hands remembered working on clay. When she turned to Lamia, she found a very different picture.
Lamia was frowning at her clay. It kept breaking over and over again and she tried to fix it by pressing her fingers along the surface. Her white top had muddy stains around the wrists.
“It hates me,” Lamia whined, after a crack formed again from the edge and the top crumbled from its own weight.
“It doesn’t hate you,” replied Nat; she brought her chair closer to Lamia’s and grabbed a small piece of clay, “you have to touch it just the right amount. Let me show you.”
She guided Lamia’s hands to roll smoother cylinders, lightly pressing the clay to shape it, taking just a drop of water so it didn’t dry too quickly. With Nat’s help, she managed to piece together a small acceptable vase. Her face lit up with pride and she watched delighted as the teacher put her creation in the oven.
Lamia looked chippier throughout the next step. She mixed the powder, water and alcohol to get the most vibrant colours. Green, blue, orange… They were already stunning in her palette. The hour went by all too quickly for Nat, who wasn’t so sure about her own design. As much as she tried to copy Lamia’s process, she was too distracted by her focused expression. The tiniest wrinkles had appeared between her eyebrows and she could see the shadow of a smile on her pursed lips. She worked efficiently, with no time to spare for doubt. It was mesmerising. When the pieces were out of the oven and were finally cooling down for paint, she had managed to draw and cut a beautiful design imitating a fantastic mosaic. She laid her handmade stencil over the curved surface.
“I think we make a great team,” said Nat.
“Of course we do,” answered Lamia, without looking up, “how is your bowl going?”
Nat looked back at her own piece. She had placed some small flowers and birds which didn’t look too bad, but hadn’t really been thinking about it.
“Aw, it’s cute,” Lamia cooed at the shy strokes of her brush to which Nat laughed.
“I wasn’t paying too much attention to it. Yours is more interesting.”
“Do you like it?” asked Lamia, excited, “my cousins and I used to do mosaics at school, you know, with colourful paper. It was fun.”
“You look like you are having fun.”
“Absolutely. Much better than shaping clay.”
“Agree to disagree,” smiled Nat and went back to her work.
Nat was satisfied with her work when she put her brush down. She had missed getting her hands dirty and she was pretty sure Farah would be ecstatic to learn about that class.
“I expected it to be more like Ghost, but this isn't too bad,” admitted Lamia, observing her lines from a close distance.
“Ghost?”
“Yeah, the movie. You haven’t seen it?” She looked horrified when Nat shook her head. “We are watching it tonight. You need to watch Ghost.”
“If you say so,” conceded Nat, who knew when a battle was lost, “but we won’t be able to watch it if you look at your vase so closely.”
“I think I moved the stencil at some point. Look! These lines don’t make any sense.”
Nat took Lamia’s hand, which got her attention back.
“It looks beautiful. We need to let it dry now.”
“Again? Can’t we take it home now?”
“I don’t think your sweater can take more of this class,” Nat chuckled and rubbed the fabric between her fingers.
They left the store after thanking their teacher to slowly walk towards Lamia’s apartment. The night was a bit too hot for that time of year, but perfect for a calm stroll. Lamia was unusually quiet, until her home started to take form between the buildings.
“What happened seven years ago?” she hesitantly asked.
Nat took a moment to consider her next words and Lamia patiently waited for her, intertwining their fingers.
“I met a woman.”
“Ah,” Lamia sighed, “that’s how most of my stories start too.”
They both laughed, aware that the joke was just a way to tell Nat how impatient she was.
“It’s a complicated, long story.”
“I have time,” Lamia tried to reassure her with a smile.
Breathing deeply, Nat continued.
“You remind me of her.”
“How come?”
“It was just a moment, the first time we met.”
“So I look like her?”
Nat looked on her face any shadow of hurt, but there was none.
“Not anymore. You two are too different for any physical resemblance to matter.”
“So what happened?”
“She left. It was the right thing to do,” she added quickly when she saw Lamia's surprise, “I can see that now.”
“But it wasn’t easy back then.”
“It rarely is,” admitted Nat. Even after so many years, she still felt the weight of melancholy thinking about those few months.
Lamia quieted down again for a few minutes, mulling over the small blinks of her past. When she spoke again, she did it in a soft voice, calmly, as if she was prudently choosing her words.
“I know you don’t want to or you don’t like talking about your past and it’s okay if you don’t want to tell me why. But I want you to know that I understand that you had a life before me. A very long life. I won’t hold anything against you.”
Nat sighed, unable to answer like she wanted or how Lamia deserved.
“There is… a bust in the warehouse. One of the last I made of her. I’ll show you some day.”
Lamia stopped and pulled Nat’s hand to bring her closer. She cupped her face with her hands before giving her a short, tender kiss.
“Thank you. Now, let’s go. We have a movie to watch.”
The next day, after picking up her work at the workshop, they headed to the warehouse. Nat let Lamia enter first in the dark room, where most of their belongings from other missions were carefully stored. The bust was unceremoniously balanced between other small souvenirs.
“She was beautiful,” whispered Lamia. She reached to caress the cold cheek of the one who looked exactly like her, and still so different.
“She was.”
Lamia tore her eyes from the bust to look worryingly at Nat.
"Do you know anything about her?"
"Not in a long time."
Lamia nodded. After a hesitant instant, she took the bust in her hands.
"She deserves to be seen."
She held it against her chest, making sure it was safe and gestured for Nat to open the door again. Lamia walked in front of her, and took them to the library. Nat opened the door again for her and watched Lamia place the bust on the shelf in the middle of the room, right at the level of their eyes. The sunlight hit its cheeks almost bringing it to life.
"I'll buy some flowers and we'll put my vase here," said Lamia, pointing next to the statue.
Nat stood next to Lamia in silence. Looking at that face she knew so well didn't cause as much pain as she thought it would. Lamia leaned against the shelf, and lightly kissed the statue's forehead.
"I hope she is okay."
Nat stepped hesitantly towards the bust and repeated the gesture. The dried clay remained cold under her lips and she smiled against the stone.
"I'm sure she is."

i thought you might find it fun that i stumbled onto this tiktok and went "oh that's my Enby On The Men's Team!MC for College Tennis. their dance moves are their Big Guns of a weapon for flirting - Oooh Look At Me, You Know You Want Me And Nobody Can Blame You, Watch My Body, Wish Your Hands Were On It, WOOOH" like. imma multishipper so im just going. Dayum. Imagine Them And Tobin Showing Everyone Up And Their Teammates Fake-Gagging When They Dance Again On The Way Home. Imagine Them Dancing While Rayyan Watches Until Rayyan Finally Stands Up To Claim Their Partner. Imagine Them And Sam Giggling While They Dance Ridiculously. Imagine Them And G At Another Party And Then Again In Private. Just Imagine Their Team Going "OOOOOHH!!" During MC's Smug, Adrenaline-Fueled Victory Dance.. Bonus Points If They Can Get Their Doubles Partner To Do A (Far Easier) Little Coordinated Jive With Them
just. thanks for the ability to make the MC a dancer. i really like all the opportunities to show how much music means to MC (singing with their dad in the car, their mom's mix-tape, dancing at the resteraunt and the party, so on and so forth). it's a detail i really like and now have headcanons about how theyve learned and what music means to them (and, yes, their major is related haha). and, bRUH, you KNOW i am playing a Lead Singer (who got late bc of a work emergency as Nat sighes that they are a workaholic) and selecting Kareoke As The Family Tradition for Merry Crisis, and taking that Qiu Listening To MC Sing headcanon as canon. i cannot wait to see more of music playing a recurring role in both games, you know what ill be picking for my MC to be doing every time music/dancing is available, theyre both now experts forever and always haha sending you lots of love and inspiration, all the respect to you and your craft ❤️❤️❤️❤️ hope you enjoy the lil dancey tiktoks hahaaaa
OH MY GOD I forgot to actually reply to this!!
Sorry, I absolutely 100% LOVED this, because bruh, you've got a whole universe of CT:OS headcanons in the form of tiktok dances here. (How very, very '21st century modern art' of you).
I especially especially loved the idea of Tobin and MC dancing/jiving to music at Valentina's in public (or wherever, really, at a party, maybe during a random lunch stop as they drive to an away game etc.) just for fun, and just being ridiculously good at it and being cheered on by everyone watching, and then driving back from somewhere and finding some little pocket of time to dance for just themselves, with everything/everyone else melting away. Also that one with Sam dancing ridiculously with MC: I can 100% see that happening with those jokers.
I am also 1000% in love with the idea of a coordinated doubles partner victory dance, and it is absolutely canon that Tobin would do that with MC. In fact, it's so canon that I'll give you my word to write that in. Rayyan will be... far more difficult to persuade, though :P
Also - you are absolutely right (that was some high level literary analysis you did on Merry Crisis HAHA) I didn't even realise I'd jam-packed so many music-related scenes/concepts/choices into (both) IFs. Super cool how you've got so many threads linking Qiu and Nat and your family in one playthrough alone. You're going to think this is absurd but Shay is also (and this is canon) a drummer in a band? I'm SORRY I PLANNED IT ALREADY, BEFORE I READ YOUR ASK!!
I guess it just happened because for me, music has always been so intimately entwined with memories (both good and bad), and spending time with people I love (family, friends, romantic partners). I don't think there's been a big moment in my life that I don't associate with some song or music.
Thank you so much for sharing this :) Also, p.s. this is not helping my CT:OS/Merry crisis blog divorce, at all :P I don't even know how to tag this.

[this letter is dated two weeks after the first one. it is significantly heavier. there is a scribbly drawing of moth and nat holding hands on the envelope.]
dearest moth,
hey again! it's been a while since I sent my last letter and, well, you haven't replied yet but that's okay! figured I'd write this one anyway to keep you updated, I guess? assuming you aren't actually dead like everyone says haha.
first of all, remember how I said I was going to make gingersnaps? I went to the store after sending out my last letter to get some and the molasses was all sold out! pretty strange, huh? I had to buy the boxed ones instead :( they're not as good as homemade, but they still tasted wonderful.
how have you been? I guess I already asked that in the last letter... oh well, never hurts to check in on a friend. I've been missing you a lot lately, you know? I found a google doc while looking through old files the other day for what looked to be a draft for a buzzfeed unsolved musical we were trying to write? god, it would've been so cool if we had gone somewhere with that haha. I'd love to do more stuff like that with you, too, when you get back from, I'm, wherever you are
I tried messaging a couple friends of yours the other day to ask about you. all I got back was "they're dead" and "they're in Nebraska". no pressure, but please let me know how you're doing okay? after that conversation about the moths you sorta ghosted me and it's making me sort of anxious.
anyway! sorry to bring the mood down. I hope school's going alright! if you see gale again sometime soon, tell them I'm sorry for how awkward I was when we met a while ago haha. it's always so weird to meet a friend of a friend!
I'm tucking some dried flowers and a teabag into this envelope as little keepsakes for you. peppermint tea is tasty and refreshing anytime of year in my opinion :) enjoy!
lots of love, see you soon
nat★
Tumblr media
[This letter is, like the last, smudged with small stains of molasses. Doesn't seem like it can be helped. This envelope's heavy, too, with two flat-ish rocks inside- a tiger's eye and an amethyst.]
dear nat,
thank you for the keepsakes, and the drawing. you're the sweetest, nat. I have them taped up on my wall now :) besides the tea. I'll keep that one on me!!!
i'm hoping you'll have gotten the letter I sent from nebraska soon, I'm so so sorry I never meant to leave you hanging so long. things have been complicated? I'm home now though. I'm sorry I made you wait.
that's.um. odd. with the molasses. maybe it's for the better? gingersnaps are good but there are even BETTER cookies out there right!! gale might even have some recipes. did I tell you gale bakes? I know they might have seemed like more of a bug expert last time you talked haha but you guys should really share some recipes sometime. was hoping to maybe properly introduce you!!!
I almost completely forgot about that musical- I still vaguely remember one of the songs you wrote!! god we had the whole storyline planned out I think or at least mostly I remember being SO excited about it!! I still stand by it being as good as I remember hahaha. good times. we'll have plenty of time to work on that kind of stuff again soon, right? long nebraska trip, but I swear I'm not going anywhere now anytime soon. hopefully.
I'm sorry to have um. ghosted you for so long. I'm okay though, people just don't know when to let up with a joke haha!! I'm alive. I'm sorry, I swear I'll make it up to you. now that I'm home.
there's a little gift in here for you, too!! meant to give these to you a while back- some cool rocks I thought you might like :) something cool to show you until I can show you my knives, right?
hope to see you soon! sorry I worried you.

xvii: Getting Better
Cat responded to Peter's comments and questions coldly, but this time he didn't take it personally. The young hero kept walking next to her as if all was okay.
"MJ!" Peter exclaimed when they saw the young girl approaching. "Hey!"
The girl wrapped her arms around him and held onto him, the abrupt display of affection took Cat by surprise, she stumbled to a stop and stared at them with her mouth slightly open.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm okay. You okay?"
"Yeah..." MJ noticed her, she blushed but she didn't let go of Peter. "Cat."
The mutant smiled a little. "Hey, Jones. Where's Happy?"
"I— I left him back there," MJ pointed over her shoulder. "Sorry."
"It's okay, I should go check on the rest..."
"I'll go with you—"
"No," she gave him a look. "Let me, please."
The boy nodded, Cat noticed he was still shorter than both girls, but he matched MJ way better.
Tumblr media
"Well, I'm glad you're alive. I guess the coded message worked."
"Appearances can be deceiving'— Heh. I'm surprised you didn't just wink in the camera."
"It worked."
"Only because I had serious doubts about Beck from the beginning."
"Not true. He had zero doubts."
Cat snorted, Fury looked at her and then at Happy, and he frowned.
"Where's Parker?"
"With his girl," Cat replied.
"I thought you were his girl?"
"I'm just a friend." She was a shitty one, but Cat was starting to believe that maybe that had little influence on other people's reasons to love her.
"I need to speak with him."
"He'll call you," Happy replied with a serious face.
"He'll ca—?" The man cackled. "Okay. Great. Well, he better. Or it's your ass." He pointed his index finger at Happy's face. "And don't even think about ghosting me."
"Talking about ghosting..." Cat gave a step forward and stood next to Happy with her hands behind her back.
Talos, who was now an expert at mimicking Fury, quickly tilted his head in suspicion and squinted his eye.
"After this mess, I've finally realized something," she glanced at Happy, who encouraged her to finish her sentence. "It doesn't matter if you trained me to be an agent, I don't want to be one."
"What?"
"I can't follow orders from an organization I don't trust. It's a thing Peter just taught me. Actions are what really matter, and yours showed me you don't care about doing the right thing, you only care about having control."
Fury and Hill shared a look, they knew that speech wasn't directed at them, so Hill shrugged and Fury pretended to get very serious.
"You're aware this means you'll no longer have access to things? Like money."
"Oh, I'll figure that out. I've had boring, plain jobs before," she smirked. "I know people."
"Very well," Fury nodded at Happy as a goodbye. "Clear your desk before next Monday, agent."
Once he was away, she turned to Happy. "How was that? Was I too much?"
"I think you got your point across."
"You don't think they'll put me on a wanted list, right?"
"No, you're fine," he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and patted them in a fatherly way. "Tony and Pietro would be proud."
"Nat would be exasperated, though, and Steve would be thinking of a ted talk to lift my spirits and assure me he's there for me."
"We should have dinner at Pepper's place. Let's call Rhodey, I'm sure they'll want to hear the news..."
"Sure."
"You call Harley as well."
She groaned, leaning her forehead on his shoulder. "I hate having to keep my social life, well, alive."
Tumblr media
The virtual conference she held with Fury was far from pleasant. There would be no protection for her in case she screwed up, and she would have to save her own ass from whatever bad guy decided to chase after her.
It was hard to feel guilty when she knew friends and family were expecting her at the other side of the scolding, all of them with open arms and ready to help her crawl out of the hole she'd been stuck in since her brother's death.
The first person she visited, was Harley.
Cat knocked on his door not knowing if he'd be there, he could be back home spending time with his family, but then she heard his long, sort of dragged steps approaching, and then she had him right in front of her.
"You're here," he stated unfazed, Cat had shown up unannounced so many times before he was used to it. "I thought you were supposed to keep your identity a secret, but now you're out there flying around with your ex-boyfriend in a flashy blue suit—"
The mutant interrupted his rambling by giving him a hug. Harley kept his arms hovering over her, he was definitely not used to her initiating affectionate gestures out of nowhere.
"What's going on?"
"I'm no longer a S.H.I.E.L.D agent."
"WHAT?"
"I don't think I'll stand aside if someone I care about is at risk. I don't think I'm the kind of person who can follow orders no matter what."
"Yeah, no shit," Harley frowned. "Last time we hung out you crossed the street without even looking!"
She smiled. "I don't need to look, Harley. I have enhanced hearing!"
"Is your body enhanced too? Because you'll get run over one day and I won't be able to get your life insurance if you fuck up!" Cat stepped away from him, and Harley got even more alarmed when he noticed she was crying. "Holy shit, Stray, what did they do to you?"
"What, just cause I don't cry often it means I'm going through something?" She scoffed.
"Yeah?"
Cat shook her head. "I'm just letting myself feel what I didn't after I buried my friends. I'm sorry, I was scared. I thought that if I made you hate me then you wouldn't care if I didn't come back. I was wrong, I can't make you stop caring unless it's your decision."
"I think that's the wisest thing I've ever heard from you," he raised a brow. "Is this Spider-man's doing?"
She shrugged, a loving smile on her face. "I'm just... I'm starting to believe in my worth again."
Harley adopted a teasing grin. "Does this mean you're back together?"
"Oh God, no," she cringed. "I fully believe I did the right thing when I broke things off, he's dating someone else now."
"Really? Who?"
"My first best friend."
Harley whistled lowly. "And you're not upset?"
She shook her head. "I can't think of two people who deserve happiness and love more than they do."
"What about us?" He pointed back and forth. "I could use some comfort."
"Well, I can help you pack before you go to your family... We can have a movie night?"
"Is that supposed to be enough?"
"I'm hardly enough," she sighed. "But you decided to be friends with me, so you get what I can offer. Take it or leave it."
Harley put an arm around her shoulders, closing the door with his foot. "I'll take it."
Tumblr media
Cat had enough money saved but she would run out of it at some point, so she needed to find something that would allow her to patrol the city.
She was contemplating giving Matthew a call to see if his office needed a secretary, given that Karen had been promoted. Cat grabbed her phone and, as if her brain had reactivated old muscles she hadn't used in years, her first instinct was to text Peter.
'You guys have any plans for tonight?'
P.P: MJ and I have a date :)
P.P: but Ned broke up with Betty. I can give you his number if you want to hang?
Cat imagined herself texting another teenager and asking if he wanted to play video games... it didn't matter if they were still friends, her old habits felt out of place in her adult life.
'Nah, it's fine. Have fun with MJ!'
She walked around the living room for a while, cleaning up the place. Felix the white cat sneaked through her open window and bumped into her legs. It was true that she wasn't built for a domestic existence, her body was asking her to run around, to find a new adventure. Her brain, though, was only asking for some company.
"How about we go out for a while, boy?" She asked the cat.
Her phone buzzed to notify her of Peter's reply, but that wasn't the text that got her attention. She had three chats: one from Fury giving her instructions to finish her mission on the illegal auctions, the other was some funny video Happy had sent, and the last was Kurt, most likely something about an argument he'd gotten himself into with one of the nuns.
She left her apartment but Felix didn't follow her, he jumped onto the couch to have a long and cozy nap.
Tumblr media
Matthew's mother guided her to Kurt's room. The woman said he'd been grumpy the last few days and that she believed the loneliness was starting to weigh on him. She hoped Cat could get him out of his bad mood.
The young mutant stood at the entrance and knocked softly, Kurt was laying on his bed with an arm covering his eyes. "I'll go in a minute, sister, I'm having a headache."
"I didn't know devils could suffer from a heavy conscience," she joked.
Kurt sat up abruptly, his yellow eyes widened and even though they had no pupils, she imagined them growing a little at the sight. "Mimi!"
He teleported from the bed to her side and lifted her up in a bear hug. She chortled, giving him a playful punch so he would put her down.
"You sure are lively for a guy in pain," Cat teased.
"I said it to keep them away. They've been all over me as if I'm some kind of dying creature..."
"Maggie said you're grumpy."
"You would be too if you weren't allowed to take a walk around the city," he made a face.
"But they let you stand on the roof during the night! You make a pretty cool gargoyle..."
"You're in a good mood," he pointed out. "Gonna tell me why?"
"You'll stop sulking?"
"I'll be a perfect sunshine."
Cat told him all that'd happened, and Kurt was really happy to hear she was back to being an Avenger. Truth be told he sucked at cheering up people, and he feared that his company would not be enough to help her.
"That spider-dude... he really knows how to get to you, huh?"
"I mean, he's one of the few that knew me as this sweet girl, part of me likes to be treated as such even if it's no longer true."
"Yeah, and insults are good fuel, but they don't carry you through hard days, do they?"
"Is that the word of the lord?" Kurt enjoyed giving her religious lectures, and even though she didn't make fun of him for it, she couldn't help but find his change of heart amusing.
"It's common sense. Maybe if you pull your head out of your ass you'll get more acquainted with it." He trapped her with one arm and ruffled her curls. "So... Goodbye Zero, she had a short life. Now you are..?"
"No no, I'm no longer doing that," she pushed her hair back. "I'm owning up to my mistakes. Zero is me, it'll always be me. I'm also Cat Maxwell. I'll be Cat Maxwell until I die."
"Unless you find a cooler name and decide you like that one better," he replied knowingly.
"If I don't enjoy the little pleasures in life, then what's the point?" She grinned.
They laughed, but Kurt's voice turned serious. "I know you hate it when things don't work out the way you plan... but you're okay, right?"
"I'm fine."
Kurt nodded, then he frowned. "Sure-sure?"
"Smurf."
"It's just—" He shook his head. "I don't want you to start bar fights again, please don't ignore life..."
"That won't happen again. I've learned my lesson and I'm not hanging out with any particularly bad influence. Just you and Harley— and Happy... and company."
He smiled, and she knew it meant trouble. "So when am I meeting your old high school friends?"
She pretended to hear someone. "Oh, sure Maggie! I'll be right up!"
"Hey!"
"I'm sorry, Smurf, I gotta go convince them to take off your leash— that's what you want, right?"
Kurt crossed his arms and scowled. "Little shit."
"Yeah, but I'm your little shit," she smiled, it was nice to feel like she belonged somewhere again. "What was that thing you said to me all those years ago? 'I'll do whatever you want'? "
The mutant huffed, a lock of fluffy blue hair briefly lifting from his forehead only to land back in place. "Maybe I should get acquainted with common sense, too..."

Thank you @stonemags and @silver-lotus for the idea and helping me brainstorming. I also want to thank @thatpersonthatisgenderfluid for helping me with cool information of Marine Biology that they are expert with. I'm excited and I hope you enjoy this series! Happy reading!
Series Masterlist
Ah, fall semester. It’s finally here! This is your second year in college. You are really glad to be back at your dorm and to see your room mate again but mostly, you are thrilled for this semester because of one particular class you are taking. You are as excited as a kid who finally goes to Disneyland. Well, that’s what your roommate a.k.a best friend, Natasha, said. Maybe, she is right.
You have been dreaming to be a marine biologist since you were a kid, hence the major you are taking. This semester, you are finally able to take Mr. Fury’s class. He is one of the famous marine biologists there is. You love his books. So when you know that he will teach a class here, you feel like you just won a jackpot and of course you register to his class as soon as you can.
“Nat, are you almost ready?” You ask impatiently as you sit on her bed, looking at your red-haired best friend getting ready. “Oh my god. Yes I am, y/n. Geez. I know you have been waiting for this class but be patient with me, will ya?” Nat rolls her eyes playfully as she answers you and puts some books into her bag.
“Well, can you blame me? It’s Mr. Furry’s class. Don’t you know that he is—” You reply but Nat quickly finishes your sentence “--one of the best marine biologists and his books are masterpieces? Yes, y/n, I know.. Because you haven’t stopped talking about him and this class in the last few months. So trust me, I know.” She teases as she finally lays the strap of her backpack on her shoulder and signs you that she’s ready to go. “Let’s go.”
You get up and walk with her. “You will be glad that you take his class this semester.” You excitedly give her assurance. “I actually don’t have to take this class yet and I was going to take Mrs. Harkness’ class. You made me take this class.” She complains but you know she was just joking. You and Nat quicken your steps to where both of you should be.
“Well, isn’t that the best idea? We always try to take the same classes together. I will always help you with homeworks. You know that I didn’t tell you not to take Mrs. Harkness’ class, right?” You winked confidently right after you answered her. Both of you swift your steps into the building.
“Yeah but I already have two other classes. I can’t juggle four classes at once. I’m not as smart as you are.” She quickly pitched back a response to your statement as both of you finally walked into the class and picked the back row seats. “Aw, you are so humble. You are smart too, Nat.” You nudge her arms and she rolls her eyes once more.
You love the front row seats but Nat doesn’t, neither do your other friends so majority rules. Some more students walk into the class and slowly fill the class, you quickly raise your hand as soon as you see Tony and Vision walk in. “Guys, over here!”
Both of them quickly walk towards you and Nat and take the seats shortly after both of you remove your bags off the chairs you saved for them.
“I can’t believe y/n also made you boys take this class too.” The redhead teases with a smirk. “Well, I always love competing with Y/n.” Tony answers nonchalantly. “Even though I always beat your grades?” You try to poke fun out of Tony’s competitive traits.
“Shussh you two. We all know who is smarter.” The Russian interrupts as she moves both of her hands as if she is a referee for the competition between you and Tony. “Me!” Both you and Tony answer right away at the same time, making Nat and Vision laugh. “Well, to be honest the subject of this class intrigued me, so why not? Plus, I'm a big fan of Mr. Fury’s books.” The tall British exchange student lets out his thoughts as he shrugs his shoulders followed with a smile.
“And to watch me beat Tony’s grades.” You tease Tony one more time. “That too.” Vision plays along with your joke.
The class is filled with the sounds of students talking to each other for a little while more until the door is opened followed by sounds of steps from what seems like a pair of high heels. The class went full on silent as soon as a fairly tall dirty blonde haired woman walked in carrying a briefcase-like handbag, then without hesitation, she took her seat in front of the class. “Good morning everybody.” Her broad accent and words echo in the room and the students answer.
You are in deep confusion, so is almost the rest of the class. You look at your friends with furrowed eyebrows then bring your sight back to the woman who is busy taking out some papers and a book. From what you see, she is preparing herself to start a lecture.
“Hmmm.” The only thing the class could hear from her since the greetings. She clicks her tongue a few times as she is reading what it seems the list of the students’ name list.
Your brain is still trying to process what is going on. You even think that the young professor is in the wrong class and doesn’t realize it. The sunlight that penetrates the window from her right hand side brings up the color of her flawless wavy hair. Her nude makeup colors perfectly shows her angelic face’s features.
You lock your gaze on her and plan on not looking somewhere else until you find out what on earth is she doing here. Your eyes follow her movement as she stands up, walks to the front of her desk and lean her lower body on it. Natasha and Tony notice that you are looking at her from head to toe, as if you are studying what she is wearing.
The navy blue blazer jacket and pants with white swallow bird prints all over them pair nicely with her white shirt under it and her black and white high heels. To say that you are astonished with her beauty and perfect figure is somewhat of an understatement.
You would wish that she is your professor if it’s another class she is teaching, not in this class. Despite how attractive she is, you hope she is not here to teach Mr. Fury’s class. Your stomach starts to churn, your face probably turns pale. Nat nudges your arm to bring your back from your daze. “You okay?” She whispers.
As you turn your head to your best friend to answer her question, your head quickly follow back to the next voice that you hear. “Hello everybody. My name is Wanda Maximoff. I’m here to cover Mr. Fury’s class for a month or a month and a half. Some voices of disappointment quickly made their way to be heard. Wanda waits for a few seconds until the students realize and focus back on her. As soon as the class is back in silence, Wanda continues her words. “I know, I know most of you were excited for Mr. Fury’s class but he has an emergency but before you know it, he will be standing here teaching all of you.”
"So, let's start with the names, shall we?" Her thick accent and her raspy voice tickle your ears and perhaps wake up the butterflies in your stomach without you realizing it. Your mind is far too occupied with your disappointment that it is not the professor you expected yet you want to know how much experience she has in this field. Your guess is she is not that much older than you. That's another thing, you are being skeptical.
While Wanda calls the students' names one by one and tries to remember it at the same time, Nat whispers to you. "Stop staring, y/n. Already have a crush on your professor?" Nat teases you, of course.
"What? No!" You deny as quickly as you can. "How old is she, do you think?" You whisper but this you didn't turn your head too much, with your eyes focused on Wanda.
"She is definitely older than you but not that much." Tony jumps into the conversation. "Ouh I never knew that you are into older women." Nat smirks and Tony tries hard not to laugh.
"I just want to know how good she is at this subject." You defend yourself. "She looks very smart. It seems like it's not her first time teaching a class and knows what she's doing." Vision expresses his opinion.
"Why don't you ask her?" Tony casually challenges you. "What? No! No student asks that of their professor!" Nat yells in whispers, trying to stop you because she knows that you would do that. "Oh she will." Tony comments, a laugh almost slips out of his lips.
Nat glares at Tony and before she tells you not to do it, you raise your hand. "Uh-excuse me? I have a question." Some students turn their head to you in the back.
"Yes? And, your name?" Wanda answers you with another question and one raising eyebrow.
"Oh, my name is Y/N Y/L/N." You answered. "Yes, miss y/l/n, what's your question?" Wanda lays her hands on her thighs while still holding the name list.
"Do you know Prof. Fury? If you do, how do you know him?" You pitch your question.
Wanda nods softly before she answers you. "Yes, I know him. I'm actually his assistant and also his student from his other class in another university."
"Oh, so a student teaches students." You arrogantly replied. Gasping from some students sounds clear in the air, including from Nat who pinches the bridge of her nose having the second embarrassment from what you just said.
Wanda didn't expect your harsh comment, her lips pressed into a smile. "Well, I'm doing my master in marine biology and I'm almost done with my final paper. So I'm sure I know a LOT more than you do. I assume you know that it's not easy to be hired as his assistant. Plus, despite all of that, so far I can remember in this class I'm your professor and you are my student." the blonde woman tilted her head as she finished her answer followed by a victorious smile.
"Oooohhhh" some students react to Wanda's answer that feels like a right jab to your jaw and it catches your tongue. Few seconds of silence and Wanda takes it as the conversation with you is done. She turns her face away and looks around the class. "Okay, so let's continue the name list and we'll start the class. We'll learn The Study of Characteristics of Species." Wanda tells the class and proceeds.
The whole time of the class with Wanda, regardless of what happened earlier, you still pay attention to everything she teaches. How she walks around the front of the class or how her hands swing a bit while she explains things are so mesmerizing to you for some reason.
Maybe Vision was right? She looks like she knows what she's doing. Also, she looks smart and it intrigues you to see how much she knows her field. You love to compete or call out when someone makes a mistake. Yes, you admit that calling out people’s mistakes is your worst trait and you are working on it. Your best friend keeps reminding you about that.
Her voice and her accent when she teaches, sounds passionate in the same major you are very interested in. Your mind starts to think it must be nice to discuss some of your Marine Biology related topics with her.
Uh oh wait, there's no way you have a crush on your professor. Not in the very first class. Your eyes blink as you come back from your daze when Tony secretly kicks your legs under the table. He waggled his eyebrows up and down with a knowing smirk. "You like her, y/n?
"What? No, Tony." You quickly tackle his assumption yet a shade of red blush slowly shows on your cheeks.
"Okay, that's it for today's class. We'll talk about this more in the next class. Don't forget to read page 10 to 15 for our next meeting. Have a good day everyone." said the blonde professor as she realized that her class is over for today.
All the students stand up and leave the class. You and your friends are slowly walking away from the back of the class. As four of you get closer to pass Wanda's desk, you hear your name beautifully wrapped in her voice. "Y/n, can I talk with you for a second, please?" With that, the three of your friends walk out and wait for you outside.
"Yes, Mrs. Maximoff?" You ask as soon as you stand in front of her desk. Wanda puts the pen down and she looks up at you as she entwines her own hand with her others, a few inches away from her face. “That was quite a way of introducing yourself to me, Y/n.” Her unamused piercing green eyes look straight to yours. To Wanda’s surprise, you patch a smile on your face for her prior to answering her. “I always aim to make an impression.”
Her eyebrows rose. She is bewildered with how confident you are, too confident in a bad way. It exasperates her. “Oh? So you always aim to make a bad impression?” she asks in sarcasm as she collects her things, getting ready to leave.
“Of course not. Not at all.” You answer casually. She took a deep breath. “Well, too bad, y/n, because it wasn’t a good impression at all.” Her answer quickly ripped your smile off your face. Your forehead puckered in surprise and confusion. The unexpected answer from Wanda froze your tongue for a good few seconds. Wanda gives you a quick glance and pulls back her focus on getting ready to leave. “But… I didn’t–” The slightly older woman didn’t even let you finish your sentence as she stood up and says “I think we are done here, y/n. See you in the next class.”
With that, she leaves her desk and walks towards the door, leaving you perplexed. You turn around and you walk out the class to find your friends, still with your brain trying to comprehend Wanda’s words.
“Y/n, what happened?” Nat asks as soon as she sees you. “Yeah, what did she say?” Tony added another question.
“She just told me that I gave her a bad impression. She looked upset too.” Your eyes blink a few times. “Well, d’uh? Of course, you dumbass.” Your Russian classmate raises one of her open palms, giving you a dirty look.
“I couldn’t agree more with Nat here, y/n.” Vision adds in his agreement. “Come on, y/n. For someone who keep bragging that you beat my grades, you can’t be this dumb.” The Stark company’s only heir comments.
“Y/n, you pretty much insulted her in front of the class. Of course she got upset. I’m surprised that she didn’t kick you out after what you said about her being a student and teaching us.” Nat expresses her thoughts as four of you walk.
“Well, I was right, weren’t I?” Your stubbornness makes you disagree with Nat even though deep down your heart telling you that Nat was right. “Yes but it wasn’t really wise that you said it out loud.” Vision adds. “Yeah, y/n. Nobody says that to their professor in front of the class.” Tony backs up both Vision and Nat as he playfully punches your arm.
“Okay okay. What day is it today? Ganging up on Y/n day, or something?” You joke in sarcasm. “Aw such a cry baby.” Tony baby-talk at you with a fake pout. You roll your eyes at him and the four of you move on with your day.
_____
You toss and turn a lot. It’s hard for you to fall asleep. All you can see when you close your eyes is Wanda. How her hair sways following the rhythm of her movement when we teach. How she looks from behind when she writes on the board, the blazer wraps the curve of her body perfectly. The way her friendly smile showed up when a student or two asked questions to her before she gladly answered them. The difference in her voice can turn when she was teaching and when she was talking to you. Why was she even mad at you? Oh well, that’s right. You upset her.
Now your brain switches lanes from adoring her subconsciously to feeling bad for her for what you said. You think and think hard, debating on what you should do. Part of you thinks you didn't do anything wrong but the other part encourages you to do something to redeem yourself. Then a thought popped in.
_____
“Seriously, y/n? You are joking, right?” The redhead’s annoyed surprise tone. “Oh my god, you rush me and the boys to come early just to hang out here at the library before Mrs. Maximoff class and now you gotta leave?” Nat continues her protest. “Sorry, Nat. I forgot to bring my book. I gotta grab it. I’ll be fast.” You lied and you walked away in a rush.
As you are gone, Nat's mind is going, sensing that something is unusual. "Hey, did you guys notice that?" Nat curiously asks Vision and Tony.
“You meant, y/n forgot her book? It’s a bit odd, yes.” Vision’s examining tones sound clear as he thinks about it more after she mentions it. Meanwhile for Tony, he thinks there’s always a first time for everything. “Eh, I meant, yeah it never happened to her before but I don’t think it’s something big or anything. Unless she gets nervous with Mrs. Maximoff class and then forget to bring her book.” Tony shrugs his shoulders after he lays out his theory.
“Something fishy.” Nat says under her breath that the two men didn’t hear it.
_____
You rush your step and check your surroundings to make sure that Nat is not following you. Both of you have been best friends for years now and you know well that she knows you like the back of her hands. One of your hands holds a note tightly inside the pocket of your jacket. Your eyes are anchored on the classroom door as soon as you get closer and closer. You look around once more before you open the door and sneak in. Your heart races. Your eyes rapidly jump back and forth from the door to the desk and back to the door again. You carefully put the note on the desk then rush yourself out of the class and definitely need to hurry back to your friends before they notice anything.
“Hey. Sorry, I tried to get back here as soon as I could.” You take your seat back with your friends. “It’s okay. You okay y/n?” Nat asks you as if she is a detective who is trying to find a clue. “Yeah, why?” You try hard to keep your cool. “Nothing, just making sure.” Nat replies.
“Uh, I think we better go now so we won’t be late.” Vision suggests and the four of you walk together to the class.
_____
Once the four of you got to the class, you were quiet. You are restless and can’t focus on the conversations with your friends. Everything sounds as if you are under water. Subconsciously, you can’t wait for Wanda to come yet anxious at the same time. You are too occupied to notice that Nat is examining your body language and what is going on.
As she was going to ask you, Wanda walked into the class. “Hello, everybody.” She glances a little bit at her class and her eyes make a brief stop at you then she puts her bag on her desk.
You notice that her eyebrows furrow as she finds a little note on her desk. She takes a seat and grabs the note to check it secretly enough that nobody notices it.
“The second you walked into this room, I lost control over myself. My eyes voluntarily anchored on your beauty and your voice is the most addictive melody to my ears.” the simple sweet note fluttered her and she tried to suppress her smile as she put the note down.
You caught how a smile almost formed on her beautiful face and you know that she likes the note you put earlier. It makes you feel better after how you were to her in the first class. You lower your head and try to hide your own smile. You feel bad that you didn’t tell your bestfriend about this. As much as you know that she won’t stop poking fun out of this for a while but you are planning on telling her about this, just not right now.
You were almost lost in our deep thought about her until you heard her clear her throat to get the class’ attention as she starts her lecture today.
The lecture goes well, the more you pay attention to Wanda’s lecture and how she teaches, the more you subconsciously can’t take your eyes off of her. You take notes on anything important that she said in her lecture. You try your best not to let your “know-it-all” side take the best of you. Deep down you get nervous sometimes when you catch her gaze glance at you every now and then. Her gaze sometimes feels sharp even if it was only for a few seconds.
Wanda walks around a bit close to the front row seats of the class. “This is mantis shrimp. They look cute, don't they? Their colors are interesting.” Wanda pauses her lecture as she shows some pictures through the projector. She raises her arms pointing at the pictures. You think she looks adorable as excitement shows on her face as she talks about one of the little sea creatures.
Unfortunately, it starts to bother you when Wanda is talking more about the mantis shrimp. The wrong fact, to be precise. “Another interesting fact about them is that they punch, you know, like the karate punch.” She explains as both her fists demonstrate a punching move playfully and some students laugh a little. “Yes, they do. Unfortunately, due to their size and they don’t have springs, levers and latches like humans do, their punch isn’t that powerful and they don’t have a regular way of punching.” She adds as she smiles.
As she is going to proceed with her lecture, you raise your hand and surely it halts her lecture. She quickly turns her head to you. Her smile slowly curves down to almost a frown. “Yes, y/n?” her tone clearly swift to a serious tone or perhaps, unimpressed tone from your interruption.
She lifts her chin up a little and her shoulders tensed up as her way to remind you of her dominance in this class shortly after her mind instantly remembers how you were to her on the first day of class.
“Uh, actually, what you just said was incorrect.” You criticized her. Natasha’s heart jumps up to her throat as she hears what you just said. She clears her throat nervously that it caught Wanda’s attention. Her gaze jumps to Nat and bounces back to you. If her gaze could cut, it would cut your desk right now easily like butter. “Excuse me?” Her broad accent suddenly sounds way more clearer than before as if it’s cooperating with her irritated tone.
“Yes, mantis shrimps are small but unlike humans they actually have biological springs, levers and latches that in fact, help power their punches and make them the fastest punch in the animal kingdom. Their punches can go as fast as a 22-caliber bullet and can produce an underwater shockwave.” You explain the fact you know about the ocean version of mantis confidently.
Wanda’s annoyance flares and is visible on her face. “And what’s this “fact” based on?” The Sokovian professor does the air quote gesture on the word fact as she responds to you. “It’s based on the books I read including Mr. Fury’s book. I’m sure you have read it too.” You smile. In your defense, you didn’t want to be a pain in the butt for her. It’s just you being yourself. You can’t help yourself to correct her because you know and you are sure that what she said was not the right one.
As soon as you mention Fury’s book, it hits her. Internally, Wanda realizes that she is wrong and she hates it that you are right and not just that, she hates it that you call out her mistake. She knows better to keep it professional and play along with what you want at this moment, by feeding your ego with her way.
“Good job, Y/n. I was wondering how fast you would notice the mistake because you sound like you know it all since the first time we talked in this class.” Wanda “compliments” you in sarcasm followed by a fake smile as she tilts her head.. You know what she meant from the way she looks at you and says the know-it-all word, even your friends know.
“Well, it was pretty easy–” Your words are interrupted by a vague nudge from Nat’s elbow. You smile once more but it’s an awkward smile this time. Wanda takes your smile differently especially after the words that just slipped out of your lips. She clenches her jaws and fists secretly. “Oh, really?” She asks in such suppressed irritation and covered in another fake smile.
Vision notices what is really going on and he quickly raises his hand to pitch a question before the tension grows. “Uh pardon me, Ms. Maximoff. What is the average size of Mantis Shrimps? I think I missed it.”
Wanda seems to finally loosen up as she answers Vision’s questions and just like that she jumps back into her lecture. Everytime Wanda glances at you, she feels irritation but as someone who has experience in teaching she actually sees that you have a lot of potential.
After Wanda gives essay homework to her students, she dismisses the class right on time. You and your friends walk past Wanda’s desk and as if you are having a deja vu, The blonde woman calls your name and tells you that she needs a minute with you. Just like last time, your friends wait for you outside.
You took a soft deep breath as you asked “Yes, Ms. Maximoff?”
“Special for you, instead of 1500 words,I want you to do 2500 words for the essay homework.” Wanda instructs in a stern tone yet calm as her piercing green eyes look at you.
Surprised, you instantly ask and complain at the same time. “Wait, what?” Your eyebrows snapped together and you squeeze your backpack’s strap that comfortably lays on on of your shoulders.
“You heard me. 2500 words for the essay with the same deadline date. Do you have a problem with it?” Wanda responds without even looking at you as she casually checks some papers, her tone was flat and cold.
“Well, it’s almost double the work with the same amount of time.” You fuss.
“Well, don’t you know it all? I’m sure you can get it done easily in no time.” She answers without leaving any space for you to bargain. You are upset but you don’t know what else to say. Silence rises up quickly and it makes Wanda avert her eyes from the papers she was reading then look at you. “Is there anything else you want to say, y/n?”
“No, Ma’am.” You answer in defeat.
“That’s what I thought. See you in the next class.” Wanda doesn’t even show any interest in giving you eye contact as she ends the conversation with you then back to focus on some papers to sign.
A few minutes after you left and a few paperwork later, Wanda gathers her things but she stops when the little lovely note on her desk calls for her attention. She reads the notes once again and this time a smile appears on her face. Her mind starts to wonder who wrote it and her heart skitters from the lovely words.
Pt. 2

hi lets say I am speaking in the perspective of Hypno and he is currently stressing over how to kill a god that has more power than he ever will, how would you go about that? this god also has three heads and too many hands. Hypno doesn't like that
(ive got no specific oc I want an answer from!)
thank you for the ask!! :D sorry for the. length. of this reply. whoops. resident god-killer Nat Rentalcar had a lot to share and was VERY excited to do so gfhjhf
"Oh! Holy shit, yeah! I got this one! I know this one! Certified vampire-hivemind-god-killer Nat Finch at your service. I've got some hot tips for you, Hypno, okay, and trust me, these are going to make all the difference. Or, like, some of the difference. At least a little bit of the difference. Probably. I think. Stop laughing at me, Quinn, I'm the closest thing to an expert anyone's gonna get 'round here, okay?
Uh... first up is... Jesus Christ, don't do it alone if you can avoid it. Get yourself some friends. Get yourself some angry, riled-up friends. Not a team of hyper-logical specially-trained-to-kill-gods strangers you barely know, no matter how competent they might be. Friends! People you trust! People you like! People you can bounce off of! It's about the vibes, yeah? Vibes are powerful business.
That being said, I thoroughly recommend getting yourself acquainted with a Zeke Cunningham-Warwick-Lâm, though. That will make your job much easier. But, uh, you can't borrow our one because she already had to participate in killing a god once and she's very tired about it so you'll just have to go find another one. There are probably other people with that name who are just as cool.
What was I talking about?
Oh, if there's any chance at all for you to bribe or threaten or trick or goad the god into playing fair, or abiding by a specific set of rules that work in your favour... TAKE IT. Then you yourself... play dirty as fuck. No rules. No honour. Set the god up then screw 'em over. This thing is more powerful than you? You're not gonna win by playing nice. Lie through your teeth if you gotta. Manipulate them. Trap them. Gaslight, gatorade, girlboss or whatever it is. Be tricky and sneaky. Then if push comes to shove, fight like a cornered feral animal.
Is... it possible for you to somehow steal a little tiny bit of the god to eat beforehand? Just a nibble. That worked pretty good for me. Though someone else did the stealing. And I was unconscious for the eating. And, I mean, it was only helpful for me because it made me, like, some cool special weird kind of vampire who can absorb stuff through his skin and explode into a gory monster on command. But I think either way eating some god can't hurt. Eat some god for luck. Eat some god for placebo effect. Eat some god to get a taste for it. Remind your gods they're edible. Do it just 'cause it's hardcore and metal as hell. Do it. Do it.
Also, you should play some of that old roguelike Quantumfish! For practice! You know, that one only like six people have actually ever beat? My friend Yvonne swears by it. Says, um - well, if you can beat the washing machine warehouse stage in Quantumfish, that's a pretty good approximation of how hard it is to beat at least the outer layers of a god. But just to be safe, make sure you can regularly get past the drive-in cinema boss fight and make sure you're REALLY good at the cyberspace dragon mini-game.
Lastly, uh... don't burn yourself out before you even get to the fight! Some folks are always going on about training, training, training, blah, blah, blah, "Why are you launching chocolate chips at Alex through a straw while it works on the computer instead of focusing on fighting the Garble, Nat?" and "How dare you take a nap when you should be strategising, Nat?" and like... sure, I get it. And maybe it's just because we all assumed we were about to die regardless and our enthusiasm for training and strategising was, like, ocean floor low. But remember to look after yourself! Self-care, baby! Eat a nice meal! Go to the beach with your friends! Murder some rich bastards for fun! Loosen up, relax, treat yourself well. My point is, if you work too hard, you're just gonna make yourself easier to kill.
Okay, that's it, go, have fun, good luck! I believe in you!"

i think kate is maybe on a kind of spectrum of puppy space/pet play if shes not a full on puppy sub. cus i dont see her like, with a tail or no clothes on her knees like 'normal' pet play. more like... a slightly more intense version of what shes got going on now, once she allows herself to give in to it. i think toys energy would encourage kate to give in to her own head space too. idk if wandanat would want to help her with that or decide its best for her to figure out alone but ye just my thoughts cus i dont see her like hardcore puppy play but i think its a headspace she would enjoy exploring.
also. i feel like when kate is over excited and talking so fast shes tripping over words and is basically babbling, wandanat are like 🤨 but toy is like 'uh huh!! omg !!! woah!' bc toys a fluent expert in the art babble and probably understands everything kates saying lol
Oh totally! I'm not 100% sure how far on the spectrum Kate would get in TGU. I could see her on her knees for sure though!
I think it would depend on the puppy sub that Kate and Toy meet.
Toy's energy mixed with Kate's for sure would drive kate's headspace especially in the beginning. I honestly dont think Nat would even try to begin puppyspace without Toy involved in some way. WandaNat would 100% help kate, she is their sub.
Kate babbles and rambles ALL the time--no matter the headspace. WandaNat never can truly understand babbling, even Toy's. But Toy is over here like :O woah tell me more! NO WAY THAT HAPPENED!!
