Please Don’t Go
Part 1
Pairing: Hope Mikaelson x Reader
Tumblr media
Just when you felt like you were on top of the world, you slowly started to feel yourself sinking towards the ground. Your knees gave out beneath you seconds after Hope and MG left the basement. Thankfully Lizzie was there to slow your fall and she guided you back to your original sitting spot from earlier.
With the infection worsening, you thought to yourself that you’d give anything to have Hope back here by your side. That way your mind wouldn’t be completely focused on the pain.
The poison from the bullet began to travel all over your back, across your arms, around your neck, and it was quickly starting to blur your vision as well. You didn’t need a mirror to know that you probably looked as grey and sickly as Josie did.
From your spot against the wall, you could see that the witches must’ve gotten their powers back given that Lizzie could siphon now. You watched her desperately try to pull the magic out of the bullets that were poisoning you and her sister, but there wasn’t any progress made. Josie still looked like death and you were catching up.
Nothing they were saying could reach you from across the cell. Just like your vision, your hearing was feeling fuzzy, making anything the twins were saying to each other sound like a muffled mess of words.
A little later on, you saw the two of them stand and leave the cell for a few minutes. You figured it was because they wanted to help the school.
As much as you wanted to join them, you couldn’t move any of your limbs without them feeling like they were on fire and your head was pounding, making it more difficult to even focus on trying to move.
Now it was getting harder to catch your breath. You were struggling to keep your eyelids open because it felt like they were being weighed down by a ton of bricks. 95% of the saliva in your mouth had dried up, making your lips more chapped than you were used to and your throat drier than the Sahara Desert, and you were sweating worse than you do on full moons.
The bullets couldn’t be siphoned out of you, the poison couldn’t be removed, and you were quickly coming to the realization that neither you or Josie had any chances of surviving through the night.
“I’m sorry, Hope,” you manage to sputter out, “I don’t think I can win this one.” You squeeze your hand into a fist, wishing that Hope’s was there to squeeze it back and give you her assurance that you were going to be okay.
“Now I know that the Y/n L/n isn’t giving up just like that.” A familiar voice echoes through your head.
You didn’t have to think twice to know that it was Hope’s voice you were hearing. Even though your perception of time has been feeling off, you knew that there was no way she was back at the school already.
You open your eyes just to be sure, but to your surprise a blurry figure of what looked to be Hope was sitting right by your side just as she was before leaving to save Landon.
“Well, I doubt hearing voices and seeing people who aren’t really here is a good sign for me.”
“Says who?” She shrugs at you exactly as you would to her.
“Says every movie where a person is on the brink of death. They always see delusions before they...” you didn’t want to say it, “you know.”
“So you’re finally admitting that you’re delusional? It’s about time.”
You let out a weak chuckle, “They’re usually just figures of their subconscious as well, so the unusual sense of humor makes sense.”
She scoffs, “See, now that’s just rude. How do you know your sense of humor didn’t just rub off on me, huh?”
“No offense, but Hope wouldn’t normally be so comedic before my time of death.”
“So you’d prefer me to be a little more emotional then?”
You shake your head, “No, this Hope is fine actually. It’s comforting considering you’re just a figment of my imagination.”
She gives you a soft smile and though you know she isn’t really here, it sets your mind at ease, “Good because I wasn’t going to be able to burst into tears anyways.”
You smile back and avert your gaze to the stone floor, seeing her hand placed so close to yours. You were wanting more than anything to reach over and really feel her here with you.
“I’m tired, Hope,” you say softly, feeling your eyes burn the longer you kept them open.
“Just fight for a little while longer,” she moves her face to where it’s inches away from yours, “You know I’ll be back any minute.”
You scan the blurred features on her face, taking them all in like it would be the last time you’d ever get to see them, “I’ll just close my eyes for a little while. Wake me up when you get here.”
“Y/n...” you could hear her voice drifting away as you began to nod off.
You weren’t sure how much time passed before Kaleb and MG came running back down to help you up. It felt like you had dozed off for five minutes, but who knows how long you were really knocked out for. You were surprised to open your eyes and find that you were still breathing.
“Come on, we need to move you to your room.” MG took you by one arm while Kaleb grabbed another.
“Where’s Hope?” You muttered weakly, letting your head roll forward since it felt like a bowling ball to keep up, “Is everyone okay?”
“She’s not back yet, but the school is safe now. We also have something that will make you feel better. Just a little farther.”
The boys carefully and urgently used their vampire speed to guide you into your dorm before setting you down on your bed. When the air conditioner began hitting you directly, you felt even colder than you did in the basement where there was little to no AC. Chills ran throughout your whole body and you tried your best to keep yourself from shivering, but failed to do so.
“Here, Y/n. Drink this. Slowly.” MG uncaps a vial of blood and before you could question it, you felt the metallic liquid coax the inside of your mouth. You let small drops of it fall down your throat so that you wouldn’t choke and within seconds you felt yourself start to feel better.
“Why did I just drink blood?” You ask, feeling your energy slowly begin to return, “And whose was it?” You knew that vampire blood could heal those who are injured, but from what the Triad agents said, the bullet would tear you up from the inside out. Nothing should’ve healed you or Josie.
“It’s Hope’s. She told Dr. Saltzman that it would help heal you and Jo,” MG explains, “He gave her a vial not too long ago and she’s almost fully healed already.”
Though you still had many questions as to how that was possible, your only concern now was Hope coming back home.
You wished that you had the strength to go with her when she left, but doubted that she would’ve let you because of A; the unstable condition you were in, and B; there was no way she was going to let you get hurt again by taking you to the Malivore pit.
After another thirty minutes passed you were back to your normal and healthy self. Then later that evening, Dr. Saltzman called a meeting and confessed that the artifact that drained the witches’ powers was brought in by him.
The parents were the only other people who were made aware of it. That was how MG’s mom knew about it and used it against the students. He explained that it was only supposed to be used if things at the school were bad, but instead it put all the students in danger and nearly killed two of you.
The honor council would now be deciding what your headmaster’s fate was going to be and if you were honest, you hoped they weren’t going to let him stay. Yeah, Josie represents the witches and that’s her father, but what happened was caused by him and you believed that deserved some sort of consequence.
You weren’t in the honor council and there wasn’t much to do at the school except wait for Hope to get back to cast her vote. You imagined that she got to the Malivore pit a little while after the school assembly and that she just finished kicking whatever monster’s ass that was in her way and destroyed the pit for good.
Her and Landon would be driving back to Mystic Falls any minute now and you could see her beautiful tribrid face again. You couldn’t wait to see the look on her face when she sees that you’re okay or for the tight and possibly bone crushing hug that would follow.
A smile crept across your face at the thought of your first kiss and the fact that you’d be alive to do it again. Out of all the crazy beautiful and handsome students at this school, the tribrid liked you. Something about that felt so unbelievably bizarre but also super incredible.
As you lay with your back against your bed, thinking about how chaotic this day has been, you were about to realize that things were going to get even worse.
Your phone began to ring on the nightstand, causing you to sit up and crawl over to see that the caller ID was Hope’s.
She must be calling to let me know they’re on their way back, you thought.
“Let me guess, you had to fight off a horde of gremlins, you ‘incendiad’ the hell out of them and saved the day once again.” You smile confidently as you answer the phone.
“Not exactly,” Hope laughs nervously and you could hear a hint of pain in her voice, “I take it by your upbeat wittiness that you’re feeling better?”
“Yeah, your blood worked absolute wonders, Mikaelson. How did you know it would heal us?”
“I didn’t realize it at first, but I was shot by one of the Malivore bullets, too. Only, I healed when you two didn’t.”
Your smile begins to fade, “How is that possible?”
“Because Malivore was created by the blood of a werewolf, a witch, and a vampire. Which means one more thing… and I don’t think you’re going to like it.”
The other end of the call was silent, but you could hear Hope’s breathing begin to shake. “Hope, is everything okay?” You felt your heart slowly making its way up your throat.
“Y/n, Clarke found the final artifact and threw it into the pit. Malivore is going to rise at any minute unless I stop him.”
“And how do you plan on doing that, Hope? Where’s Landon? Is he there to help you?” You stood up, preparing yourself to ask MG to run you all the way to Fort Valley right now.
“I kind of snapped his neck, but he’ll be back. I couldn’t let him stop me from doing what I’m about to do.” You slowly felt yourself begin to panic.
“What are you about to do?” Her silence was the only answer you needed.
If Malivore was created by a witch, a vampire, and a werewolf, that could only mean one thing.
You let out a shaky sigh, “Hope, you’re not jumping into that pit.”
“Don’t you get it, Y/n? This is what I was meant to do. This is the whole reason why I was born, why my father sacrificed himself for me. I’m not some cosmic mistake without a purpose. I know that now and I know what I have to do.” Your throat knotted up tightly and an ugly feeling filled your stomach.
“No, Hope. Your father sacrificed himself so that he could live your life, so that you could be happy, not for you to jump into a mudpit where your family and friends will forget who you are forever.” You wished that she wasn’t so damn far away. You wanted to go help her, but you felt so useless.
“I have to do this. We don’t have time to come up with another solution.”
“Just come back!” you say desperately, “We’ll rally up the students, we can help fight Malivore or something. We can think of something, anything, just please don’t leave.”
You hardly ever begged for anything in your life, but you did not want to lose Hope.
“You… you said you’d be back, Hope. So just please, please come back.” Your voice softened as your throat tightened even more and tears built up in your eyes.
“In a few minutes you won’t even remember who I am.” That’s what broke you.
You didn’t want to forget Hope. You didn’t want to forget the sound of her laugh after one of your jokes, or her victorious smile after beating you in a spar session, or the way her eyes rolled when you’d say something sarcastic, or the proud look on her face after finishing another amazing painting.
“I already told Dr. Saltzman to get rid of all of my things. I’m sorry, Y/n,” you could tell that Hope was holding herself back from crying by the wavering tone in her voice, “I wish things were different and that we had more time. I have to go.”
“Hope,” you try calling out to her, but you were only met with a dial tone. You throw your phone onto your bed, frustrated and broken-hearted.
In mere moments from now, you would have no memories of the tribrid you had fallen in love with. She would cease to exist in your mind and there was nothing you could do to stop it... or was there?
~

Ginny Weasley and Landon Kirby!!
So this is nearly like a month late! And I am so sorry for that!! I got very distracted, wrote half of this, then left it for like two weeks, so you have my sincerest apologies! But I hope you enjoy this!! ❤️
Ginny Weasley:
• Headcanon for their sexuality — Oh, she has the biggest bi energy out here. She probably figured it out really casually as well, like, she realized she had a bit of a crush on Tonks and was like, "Oh.”
• Have they come out? If so, how — She came out to Bill first, because she remembers him telling her about the boy he fancied when he was in fourth year, and she trusts he’ll be kind, so she waits until he’s visiting and slips it into conversation when they’re alone in the garden. Then she casually tells Luna while they’re reading a book that mentions this queer witch from centuries ago. Then comes the rest of her family, little by little. When it came to the media finding out after the war had settled however, now, that was a far more dramatic and hilarious story; the rumours flew around faster than her supposed secret lovers from her team! She definitely played them up and let people speculate for months, finding the whole thing downright ridiculous but at least entertaining.
• How their friends/family took their coming out:
Bill is as supportive as she expected. He smiles this knowing smile and hugs her, then they’re back to de-gnoming. “I’m happy you trust me.”
Ron is the second sibling she tells, because even though he can be a bit dense, she listened to him gush for hours about Krum, Harry, and his favourite Chudley Cannons player. He stares for a minute like he doesn’t quite know what she means, then he’s making her promise not to date any of the Gryffindor girls in his year because “Dean was one thing, alright, but if you and Lavender—“
George blinked for one second of surprise when she casually mentioned that she was thinking of asking Katie on a date to Hogsmeade, and if he thought she’d say yes, then he shrugged and told her she has a good chance. When she caught his eye, he shot her a soft smile. “If any of my other teammates catch your eye, let me know and I’ll see if they’re interested.”
Arthur was so understanding and supportive that she cried. They were talking, and she couldn’t keep it in anymore, and she just told him. He nodded, shifted closer in his chair as she rambled a bit to try and explain what she meant. When she wouldn’t look at him, he gently took her hand, and she lifted her eyes to meet his and he was smiling. She just started crying and he hugged her until she calmed down. “Thank you for telling me. I’m happy that you’re being who you are, and I will always love you for that.”
Fred grinned like it’s the best thing he’s heard all year when she told him about her date with Katie. He congratulated her, hooking an arm around her shoulders, and proceeded to ask many questions — mostly about her date. “Mum’s gonna accuse the two of us trying to end our lineage.”
She gave Fred and George full permission to tell Percy, because she honestly wasn’t sure about doing it herself. They do it in some really obvious but attempting to be subtle way, when Ginny isn’t there. He doesn’t react then, but he comes to find her later in her room, and he sits down with her. He tells her that it doesn’t matter to him, and he’s sorry that she didn’t think she could tell him. She assures him she was just nervous and he understands. “I will always protect you. Even when you don’t need me.”
Charlie was delighted. She told him in a letter because she wasn’t sure when she’d see him but what he wrote back was nothing but love and support, and he actually came out to her at the same time, and promised to talk properly in person next time he visits. “If you need someone to talk to in the mean time, I’d recommend Tonks, she’s brilliant.”
Molly was the one she was most scared to tell. That’s why she waited so long before finally telling her while they were getting dinner ready. She stared at her back, waiting for her to respond while she dried a plate to set it on the table. When her mum turned to face her, she was wearing a small smile, and said, “Okay,” then handed her another plate and continued with the dishes. Ginny didn’t know what to make of it. Dinner was quiet. It wasn’t mentioned again, and Ginny decided that her mum tolerating her future relationships like she tolerates Bill’s marriage and Charlie’s lack of one was probably the best she was going to get.
As for her friends; she told Luna over a discussion about a queer witch from centuries ago, and Luna had smiled, chin in her hand, and said she was happy to have a friend who shared how she felt. Harry had sat in silence for a moment long enough for her to worry, then quietly asked, “If you’re allowed to feel like that in the wizarding world, does that mean... guys are allowed to feel that way about about other guys?” And she had indeed gone to Tonks once or twice, who was as delighted as Charlie, practically bouncing, and promised to be like a big sister if she needed her for anything.
• Do they go to pride? If so, with whom? — Ginny discovers that Pride is a thing through Tonks, who excitedly tells her everything about it at an Order meeting. She asks if Tonks will take her, which is the height of honour to her. Ginny casually mentions it to Fred and George in the passing, and they ask to tag-along. Bill trusts Tonks, but he still comes along. Just in case; those four out in the Muggle world is a recipe for disaster. She manages to convince Harry to join, too, so of course Ron’s there, and Luna was already planning to go with her dad anyway so they meet up.
• Do they show their colours? (Flag-wise) — After coming out to everyone she cares about, Ginny is happily confident in letting everyone else know. She wears the bi colours to Pride, and she got a few badges there courtesy of George that she has pinned somewhere on her outfits nearly all of the time around Hogwarts.
And now Landon Kirby!
• Headcanon for their sexuality — I just get very strong ace vibes? And possibly bi. It just makes Sense to me.
• Have they come out? If so, how — He told Rafael before anyone else. Just sorta blurted it out to him in their room after many, many days of overthinking how he’d say it. Telling Hope and Josie was then easier, as they were preparing one of their movie nights.
• How their friends/family took their coming out:
Rafael was the most supportive person in Landon’s life about everything, so this was no different. He picked up on Landon’s anxiety while telling him and approached his response with great comfort, assuring him that it changed nothing, he loves him unconditionally, and he would be right there by his side to stand up to anyone who said one word about it. His response actually made it easier for Landon to be more confident in accepting who he is.
Hope reacted in a similar way. She saw how nervous he was and told him that it didn’t make her feel any differently about him. He was a little more worried about telling her he was ace, but she smiled and hugged him, promised that they would never do anything he didn’t want to and she was okay with that.
Telling Josie didn’t feel as daunting; after all, he knew how open she was about her own sexuality, so easing it into a conversation made him less anxious about how she’d react. Sure enough, she gave him a soft, knowing smile behind the wide eyes, and they were joking about it within two minutes.
Lizzie was downright delighted. She claimed that she picked up on the “vibes” from him right from the beginning but couldn’t be sure, so she was just waiting to see if he ever said anything. He of course rolled his eyes at that, but he was grinning as she plunged into a seemingly endless well of questions — mostly about if they had the same taste in people, because they have Hope in common, so she wanted to see if it stretched to her two-week crush on Jed, or her infatuation with Sebastian. They got into a whole debate over Star Wars characters.
Kaleb honestly thought that Landon was already out, so that was more of a surprise to him. He swears hands-down that they had flirted a couple times, so he just assumed! It was a funny moment.
MG was bright smiles and literally just a ball of supportive sunshine. But actually, while talking about it, Landon kinda helped MG realize that he may not be too straight either. It was a nice, very insightful conversation that helped both of them.
Wade could not be happier. He had already come out to Landon a few months before during a D&D game— something that had given Landon a little push — and he’s so glad that Landon trusts him and sees him as someone important enough to share this part of him with. He, of course, also told him while they were playing D&D; he slipped it into his character’s story.
• Do they go to Pride? If so, with whom — Landon doesn’t really know what Pride actually is until he joins the Salvatore School, and after he comes out, Josie gives him a better idea. Mystic Falls hosts Pride every year (it’s a new tradition, really, but the town’s trying to pretend it’s always been so progressive), and so she invites him along. He’s unsure since crowds aren’t really his thing, but Lizzie is insistent (she admits she just wants to see if she can find the love of her life and maybe someone for him if he’s willing), and Hope says she’s going too, and after Wade, Kaleb, and MG invite him as well, it’s hard to say no.
He goes with them all and actually… it’s pretty cool. It’s the most colourful he’s ever seen the town, that’s for sure. And it’s fun!
• Do they show their colours? (Flag-wise) — He’s proud to be himself, obviously, but at the same time, he’s still more comfortable with keeping it quiet from anyone outside of his close friends, so he doesn’t tend to display either of his flags colours too often. He does make an exception for the second time he goes to Pride, though.
So, this was long. I don’t know whether to apologize for that for or not but again, I hope you enjoy some of these headcanons! I had the most fun with the reactions from the rest of the Weasley’s!

A Smile You Could Get Used To
Tumblr media
Summary: Spencer sees yet another doctor for help with his headaches and meets someone there that changes his life for good.
Words: 1,181
Warnings: Talk of schizophrenia.
A/N: My next entry for @cmbingo 2020! This fulfills my season 6 square.
“You really aren’t making it subtle?” Rosie said as you shuffled around the files.
Your eyes snapped between her and the files for a moment before you realized she was talking to you. “Wait, what?”
She motioned toward the man in the waiting room with her head. “The lanky brown haired guy in the corner. You keep looking at him. You think he’s cute.”
“I do not,” you laughed. “Now, if you’ll excuse me I have to go put these files in their respective rooms.”
Rosie coughed and spoke, “And of course you’ll make sure that you’re the nurse for cute boy over there.”
“Shut up.”
You strode down the hall and placed patients’ files into the bins near their rooms, leaving the last one, whose name was apparently Spencer Reid, for your and Dr. Bucholz’s room. Okay, so maybe Rosie had a point.
“You did it, didn’t you?” She asked when you came back.
“I plead the fifth.” Out of the corner of your eye, you could see his leg bouncing up and down, his hands clutching the sides of his head. He looked to be in a lot of pain.
Rosie motioned back toward the clock. “It’s time for his appointment. And I say go for it. He is pretty cute.”
---
Grabbing the sign-in sheet to quickly cross off his name, you called for him. “Spencer Reid?”
He gently waved his hand and stood up to accompany you into the room. Even with sunglasses, he still looked uncomfortable so you flipped the lights off. “Thanks,” he said softly.
“Please, have a seat.” You gestured toward the chair and introduced yourself. “My name is Y/N Y/L/N. I work with Dr. Bucholz. I just need to ask you a couple of questions.”
Spencer started to tell you about his headaches; they were blinding and starting to get in the way of his everyday life. “I’ve been to numerous other doctors and they all keep saying that nothing is wrong with me, but these headaches won’t stop no matter what I do.”
“And you think Dr. Bucholz will be able to help you?”
“I don’t know. But he’s one of the only specialists in the area I haven’t seen, so I’m exhausting all options.”
When he winced at the light streaming through the window, you shut the blinds. “I’m really sorry about what’s happening, oh, Dr. Reid. You’re a doctor yourself?”
“Triple Ph.D. Not an MD.”
“Still impressive.” Cute and smart? There had to be something wrong with him. He was too good to be true. “I’m planning on pursuing an MD myself.”
For the first time since he’d walked in the door, he cracked a smile. “Really? What do you want to specialize in if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Neuroscience actually. I’m enrolled in Georgetown now. Hoping to conduct research in schizophrenia. It, um- my uncle suffers from it.” Why you were divulging your family history to a man you hadn’t even met no less seen more than 30 minutes ago, you weren’t sure.
“My mother does, too,” he replied, barely above a whisper. “I was actually thinking about studying schizophrenia at one point too, but then I got involved with the Bureau.”
“FBI, you don’t cease to impress, Dr. Reid.” Why did that come out of your mouth? You blushed and looked away, feeling every inch the love-struck schoolgirl. The cute, sexy and intelligent FBI doctor for was intriguing, but the Bucholz would be ready momentarily, so you bid Spencer adieu and wished him luck in finding the root of his health problems.
“Thank you, Y/N. I really appreciate it.”
---
Apparently, Dr. Reid didn’t get the answer he was looking for because he stormed out of the office and for some reason you felt the need to run after him. “Dr. Reid? Can I ask you a question?”
“Of course.”
“What treatments have you had so far? What tests?”
“Umm, I’ve been prescribed various Triptans, but they haven’t made a dent, dihydroergotamines, Lasmiditan, calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies. I’ve had MRIs and CT scans, but nothing shows up.” He was desperate for an answer.
You felt for him. Technically, you were still a nurse and not supposed to suggest any kind of medical treatment. “Listen, I’m not supposed to suggest treatments, but has anyone tested your vitamin levels?”
“Yes. Some levels deviate a bit from the normal but nothing to suggest it’s the reason for my headaches.”
“Well, I can’t suggest medical treatments, but I could mention that 500 mg of magnesium, 400 of vitamin B-2 and 150 of coenzyme Q10 have been shown to help treat migraines. Dr. Bucholz is a great physician, but he can get tunnel vision sometimes. I’m surprised none of the doctors you’ve been to haven’t suggested a simple vitamin regiment.”
Despite the sunglasses covering his eyes, he looked as if a light bulb went off in his head. “Thank you, Y/N. I’ll try that.”
“I hope it helps,” you said before turning to return to the office.
Clearing his throat, he sputtered. “Y/N, w-would you like to get a coffee sometime?”
“Like a date, Dr. Reid?”
“Y-yea,” he stuttered. “Yea, like a date.”
“I’d like that. But one thing?”
He raised a brow, confused.
“Only after you figure out what’s causing your headaches. If you’re still having them, we should go out to dinner, not coffee. The caffeine will exacerbate it…obviously,” you said on a laugh. You reached into your jacket pocket and pulled out a card. “My number is at the bottom.” You could get used to his smile.
---
Spencer, as he insisted you call him, texted you just a few days later, but it took weeks to finally get together. As you walked into the restaurant, you pulled your pea coat tighter around you, the chill in the air creeping up your neck. He was already inside and seated at your table, looking much more alive and a hell of a lot happier than he was the last time you’d seen him. “Spencer, hi!”
Standing up from the table, he wrapped his arms around you. “Sorry, I just- We’ve been talking for a while now so I feel like I know you, you know?”
“I get it,” you laughed. “I’m a hugger anyway. How’s your head?”
“Great! Amazing! The headaches are completely gone. I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation. I was about to start reading migraine studies just to get some ideas, but this is better. Now, my headaches are gone and I got to meet you.” Smiling, he placed his hand over yours. “I was afraid I inherited my mother’s illness to be honest.”
You inhaled sharply. “I know the fear.” Talking nonstop for six weeks made you feel close despite the fact that this was the first time you were seeing him since his office visit. “But you’re okay. That’s what matters, right?”
“Definitely. Now, how about we push all the sad shit aside and actually have our first date,” he replied with a smile.
It was definitely one you could get used to.

Auxiliary AU: Return to the Sun
(I wrote this last night. Late night always means lots of feelings. In this case, they were soft feelings.)
The sun was already starting to disappear behind the buildings of Santa Monica in the distance when Justus, Peter, Bob and Jelena stepped out of the abandoned warehouse. All over the formerly empty driveway stood police cars and officers were walking around left and right. This was a familiar sight for all of them, but, at least to Jelena, it was still so sudden every time. Especially today. She knew it had been coming. After all, it was her who had informed the police of the boys’s whereabouts. But this was just overwhelming somehow.
The four friends sat down on a broken-down wall next to each other and sighed almost simultaneously. “Say, Jelena, how did you know where we were?”, Justus asked. “It was easy”, she lied. Her usual aggressive tone was nowhere to be found. Instead, it had been swallowed up by exhaustion. Honestly, she had just assumed and then called Inspector Cotta once her assumption had proven to be true. “Based on the things you told me during our last phone call, I deduced you would be trying to interfere with the criminal’s plan. Then I figured out where and when the thing was supposed to be done and decided to come here. Simple as that.” “How did you get here anyway?”, Peter asked. Happiness shone in his eyes. “Last time we heard from you, you were in Yekaterinburg.” “Ekaterinburg has an airport. I stole my father’s credit card, booked a flight online, all that stuff, and then I ended up in LA about an hour ago. Took a taxi, paid the driver well so he wouldn’t say a word to anyone and let myself be brought here. And then, when I saw your MG in the sidestreet, I knew I’d been right.” All four of them smiled in silence. “I’m glad you’re back”, Bob finally said, accompanied by affirmations from his colleagues.
However, before Jelena could answer, Inspector Cotta interrupted her. He came walking at the group of four quickly, a phone in his hands. “Jelena! It’s your father.” “Oh god”, Jelena sighed painfully. As if covered in a coat of dried-out clay, she got up slowly and trotted over to Inspector Cotta. She took the phone from him and walked off a little further from the chaos. Justus, Peter and Bob tried their best to listen in on the conversation, but failed. None of them could understand Russian, so they gave up. But it still caught their attention that Jelena’s temper became more and more heated throughout the conversation until she finally switched to English: “I’ve had it! Why can’t you just leave me be with whoever?! … No, I will not talk Russian anymore! I’m in California and I will speak the language that Californians speak. That’s English, not Russian and you better live with it. Also, no, I will not be quiet. If people hear this, good for them. They should be hearing this. Because people here understand me way more than you do. … Fine! That’s completely fine! I don’t care if you don’t want to talk anymore. Because I don’t either. Just leave me here. I’m done.” With those words, she hung up and gave the phone back to Cotta. The look in her eyes was one that could kill. Luckily, Cotta didn’t ask any questions.
So, Jelena let herself drop back into the spot she had been in before. Peter was on her right, Justus on her left. Then, the wall made a right angle turn. Bob sat right next to this corner, watching Jelena with a smirk. “How long have you been awake, Jelena?”, he asked rhetorically. He knew this sort of behaviour, though it had never been this bad. “Over 53 hours”, Jelena murmured softly. Justus smiled. “That was to be expected, considering the flight probably already took over twenty hours and you were awake when we phoned you at 2am Yekaterinburg Time. I expected you to be extremely sleep deprived judging by your behaviour, which indicated said state. Extreme sleep deprivation usually happens after 48 hours of staying awake, a timespan that you have passed by a few hours now. Symptoms include drowsiness, anger, increased irritability, increased risk of stress, fatigue, puffy eyes, overall behavioural changes, anxiety-” “Justus”, Bob interrupted his monologue quietly. He nodded over in the direction of Peter and Jelena. Peter smiled at him. “She’s sleeping.” Justus chuckled quietly and watched Jelena for a moment. “... and extreme fatigue, obviously”, he added for himself. She looked so peaceful, leaned against Peter’s shoulder with her eyes closed and her full vulnerability on display. No matter how many fights they had had, he was glad to have her back. If he had known what she dreamt about, he would have known she felt the same way. It had not been an impulsive decision to come back. It had been planned. To her, the three boys were the sun and she was the planets spinning around them. Wherever they went, she would go with them and she would keep circling around them for all eternity.

Testosterone Update: 4 Months and 1 day (7/25/20)
4 months babey!!! I upped my dose to 50 mg of generic testosterone gel at around 3 months and a half. (More under the cut)
Healthcare related stuff:
Originally, my next appointment was supposed to be on the 17th of June, but, I had called the Planned Parenthood of Greater New York number asking if I could make my appointment virtually because of the pandemic and the person on the phone told me that they don't do it virtually and if I really couldn't make it, instead I could cancel and call to make a new appointment at a later date. HOWEVER, I found this to be very strange because my boyfriend who also started T at the same time I did at Planned Parenthood had his T appointment virtually? I figured *shrug* whatever since the lady told me I can still get my refills even though I canceled and haven't scheduled an appointment.
The next time I called, I decided to call Javier (the patient navigator for trans individuals at PP) asking him to check if they had the right pharmacy on file for a refill (I had recently switched my pharmacy since now I'm back home from university) and he told me that I needed to schedule an appointment to keep getting refills and could do it VIRTUALLY. BOY I SURE DO LOVE ✨CONTRADICTING INFORMATION✨. I told him what the lady told me and he said for trans related stuff it's better to talk to him since the other people don't know as much. So heads up for anyone getting testosterone at PPGNY, call Javier for any trans related healthcare questions or requests!
Anyways, my next appointment that I was originally supposed to have in June is now scheduled for next Wednesday virtually. I will keep updated how that appointment goes. Luckily, I was able to get my next refill when I requested it. Additionally, Even though my prescription is for 25 mg of the generic for Androgel, when I went to pick it up, the pharmacy gave me 50 mg packets of the generic for Testim.
(Side note on my thoughts on the difference between Androgel and Testim: Testim is SO much stickier!!! With Androgel, I would apply it and it would dry within 10 minutes but with Testim, I apply it and it dries so sticky. It's always sticking to my sleeve and I have to sit shirtless for about 15 minutes before putting my shirt on and even then I feel like it still isn't dry.)
Now for the physical T changes:
- Voice dropped a bit! Since increasing my dose to 50 mg I've felt like my voice is at a deeper range than it was before. Not by a lot but enough for it to be noticeable to me. Before when I talked, I would feel the vibration in my throat, however, now I feel it more in my chest. I get occasional strange sore throats but they come and go.
- My face is slowly but surely changing shape.
- (TW: Menstruation) My cycle still hasn't stopped but I feel like shark week is definitely shorter than usual. I'm guessing from here on out it'll continue to decrease until it stops.
- My emotions are all over the place! Since increasing my dose my mental health has taken a turn for the worse. I feel like my depression has worsened as well as my anxiety and depersonalization/derealization. I get upset and frustrated a lot easier and I'm crying more often too.
- The skin on my arms are pretty fucked up from the T gel. I've been experiencing itchiness, redness, burning, and peeling skin from it as well as occasionally bleeding from scratching it. I try to moisturize daily but I guess when I continuously apply T to the damaged skin every day it's having a tough time healing.
- Slightly more chin hair. I have like three tiny chin hairs and when I shave them they grow back pretty quickly. In general, the peach fuzz on my face is growing back a lot faster after I shave.
- Oh my god I SWEAT SO FUCKING MUCH ITS UNBELIEVABLE. I understand that it's hot outside but DAMN I get SO sweaty. >:(
Bonus: Oh and also here’s a meme I made when I was frustrated about PP:

Do you think TharnType is as popular as it is more-so because of the series itself or MewGulf? As someone who hates shipping people they make it hard not to ship them and I wonder that if they weren't so obviously "close" would the series have a different impact on people. I think they have some of the best chemistry in all of the bl series and I'm actually worried for my sanity for what we will see in the next one. I'm asking several people this for different perspectives.
I do think Mew and Gulf’s chemistry has a lot to do with it, but it’s also a market in Thailand. It’s a brand. The whole shipping in real life thing. I like how Mel @graveformydarling once said it. Schrodingers Gays. It’s that whole is the cat in the box or not? Or the classic will they won’t they? I can’t say is never a possibility because hello gay people are invested in these shows and I ain’t ever gonna say all these boys are straight (pssh). That’s to say it’s not our business or job to police who these boys should be dating. That’s up to them. All I want to do is say thank you for the acting because we know both of them worked hard to make Tharn and Type come to life. Do I think this show could’ve been a catalyst for change ? Yes, I do. If we could’ve handled Type’s trauma correctly and also negate the idea that all gay men are pushy and predatory then there’d be much more praise rather than backlash. What makes authors, producers etc think we want non-consent bullshit or that gay men/people won’t take no for answer, (so if the story is that Type doesn’t fall for Tharn then what we have a whole show of Tharn being a non-consent prick?) The author’s question should be how does Type “I hate gays” fall for him? I’ve said it before, Tharn’s character seemed a byproduct, if not equivalent to the one who molested Type and just because your character (Type) thinks like so does not make your gay character the same predatory man. That’s entirely different and if we could’ve had the show questioning that a little more then I think it’d be popular outside of shipping MewGulf. Questioning or working through a trauma like Type’s, and sure he grew out of some violent tendencies, his brain managed to stop thinking all gay men are like the man who molested him but I don’t think he’d still be without triggering moments. Type never figured out a sexuality (don’t ever think he will label himself at all), but through a learned intimacy he did come to terms with how much he loves Tharn. It also turns out that Tharn needed Type more than the other way around, if you think about it. How drawn out would everything be if Llhong kept doing his bullshit? Tharn learned from Type that maybe you can’t always wear your heart on your sleeve. Type is a defender, if he’s latched onto to you/cares so deeply, he will defend you to the death tbh. And truthfully, it’s all partly for Tar because Type knows how he feels. By exposing Lhong, Type rescued two people, if not partly himself in the process.
I digress because I love these characters, but I do think the show never established itself as anything but two college roomies, enemies to (extremely jealous) lovers trope. One a raging homophobic character but wait! He has a past repressed trauma that fuels his anger...and then a gay roommate enters his life what now? He’s gonna be a dick but the gay character is so pushy (ep 1-3) that eventually he falls for him because that’s how you get a straight raging homophobe to like you. Or that’s how you get anyone to like you if you’re gay, be pushy they’ll eventually give in with a little force.
Let’s redo the show (first 3 eps) to put everything Type’s head. He imagines it all and we get his inner monologue to explain how he’s parsing through his feelings. Or at first the sexual attraction. I mean the water bottle scene could very well be in his imagination and it partly is...who stares like that at someone’s throat if you’re not attracted/turned on? He’s caught staring so Tharn flirts. Duh. Tharn if anything is a confident flirt. Type tells himself (in his head) it’s because he hasn’t got laid in awhile that’s why he finds it hot or basically wants his dick sucked...well, he learns after (ep 4 onward) three times he can’t seem to stop, something else is happening...
Anon, this show could be a solid 5 seasons of well planned characterization to stress that Type is a character worthy of change, growth and sympathy. Tharn is a gay character who is not equivalent to a pedophile but he too might have trauma because I am still on the fence about his first time (at 14 😬) with P’San. I might be crazy and perhaps the author never thought this but by the actions given to Tharn in ep 1-3 it seems pretty clear that he kept trying in a forcible way to make Type like him back becoming even more so the very thing Type hates. Should’ve seen reciprocated attraction from Type that takes place over time and at his pace, after all the pushiness triggers him.
I need to stop but I do still love this show. Love how much Mew and Gulf love their characters too which also makes it awesome. Recenly, I saw they had such professional answers to some questions that simply explain (and I paraphrase) we (MG) have to make you believe these characters are in love for 7 years (s2) and that’s what they’ll do no doubt.
Ooh..wait one more thing. I do think none of these BL series could be executed properly if the main couple or side couples didn’t have chemistry. If the boys absolutely hated each other for some reason and couldn’t get along then I don’t know how you could even act intimate scenes. If you find someone repulsive even acting is out of the question. Look at how a couple years ago Hollywood was being called out for rampant sexual harassment (still is) against actresses and even actors came forward too. The experiences are basically sexual assault and then threaten the job when they refuse; why do I have to be topless in this scene? No reason says the director. Oh well, then I’m going to keep my top on. Are you sure about that I can ruin your career if you don’t...
None of that has came forward in real life circumstances as far as I know for the actors of Thai BL series, (well there was Saint’s issues from LBC set...) but other than that it’s just a problem within the source material/entertaining they’re creating. It’s spreading lessons that it’s okay for non-consent, we’re all straight but gay for one guy, we absolutely think it is okay to be possessive and take what we want because they’re the wifey (😡grr), says the hubby. There is a YouTube channel that has a few videos to talk about Thai culture aspects that may be disconcerting but truthfully not all that unsurprising to see since it’s also in mainstream American television/film.

-`, Au Nammin ˎˊ˗
where Jimin becomes a ghost with his hello kitty pajama in a strange messy otaku apartment. Looking around he finds (hentai porn) a new flatmate but, when he wakes up the first thing sees and listen is poor Minnie crying and sobbing.
“ hyung! I don't know where's my kitty. Could you pwease find her? ” 🥺
but Nam can only think protecting the lil angel in front of his eyes. 🥰
ㅤ♡﹗
actually, I don't have any idea of English but HERE WE GOING.
- Trying to be “short”
- reblog / mg if you like it
Thank you so much ♡
ㅤ♡﹗
------------------
Jimin shouldn't feel, literally, but he felt the pain in his back when he got up from the ground. Actually, how could he even walk on it? His body seemed transparent, and he could see the dishes left for days on the living room table... At least he had his Hello Kitty pajamas on, adorable even dead. Not that he had known that since he woke up (if that was the correct term), having to assume he could walk through the doors without opening them. At first he thought he was like Harry Potter and, excited, started to run to get into EVERY room. At the end, even dead he was lazy and accepted his fate quite easily. Although he wasn't feeling like a ghost should, he believed.
Having no idea of anything, he decided the best way of not thinking about it was to explore the apartment. Totally unknown, it was neither his or any of his drunk friends. At least, they were unable to show on all the minimum shelves an anime figure. It was no surprise to find a collection of manga, next to many magazines of anime girls without clothing and sex toys. He laughed, fascinated with the idea that someone could be so basic and rich at the same time, making money and being extremely otaku. The fun ended when the lump of bed began to move. He thought he was alone, covering his mouth with the hands, surprised (actually, it was for triying not to laugh any more for how pathetic he was being).
He decided to flee back to the living room, sitting on the couch to be more comfortable while rethought what should do. Feeling totally devastated, with no one to come to and no memories. Alone, snuggled up on himself. What he needed was... it was a pet. Looked everywhere, thinking he heard a meow. "Crystal? My baby, where are you? ", he didn't need anymore, his whole body been paralyzed, devasted. Crystal? It was the abandoned kitten who decided to adopt not many much ago, too helpless to protect herself. How could he has been so cruel abandon(ning) her, alone with no one to pamper her, to her own fate? Tears kept coming out, too sad for not to think in a loop about how much he missed her. Too sad to notice the steps approaching and the door opening. A big figure appearing on the threshold, looking at him with horror and confusion. “ Who... who are you?”, murmured the burly man, missed by the tears of the ethereal body occupying his comfortable seat. He hated someone sitting on his favorite seat and, like reading his mind, Jiminnie got up and stepped closer. Spoke, wiping his tears as he hiccupied and tried not to kick like a little boy. “ hyung, I don't know where's my kitty -said with sharply voice-, could you pwease found her?” Instead, Namjoon could only observe a tiny light babbling, with large, watery eyes and a fleshy pout. Everything was too quick to rethink if he was a thief coming to murder him, fresh awake, nodding. If a little angel told him he had to find a kitten didn't even know if exists, he would. All because of that pretty blushed face.
He knew he'd regret it in the exactly moment the adverse stopped crying to start jumping with his wide eyes full of stars. The ghost ran back to sit down, staring at him. Namjoon didn't know what to do: five minutes ago he was dreaming about piloting one of the Star Wars ships with Commander Sebastian Michaelis and the enemies attacking them with rasengans.
Sighed. Wanting to go back to bed, rest in peace... what if it was all a dream?
Instead, it seemed that the intruder had another plan: patting beside in the sofa, he felt compelled to sit next to him. The stranger kept looking at him with that illusion, and it was impossible for his cheeks to turn into stoves. He didn't need to say anything; when the ghost made his introduction with a broad smile:
"I'm Park Jimin, I'm 24 years old. I think. Uhmn, nice to meet you? Listen, I don't really remember anything... Ah! I like to eat, but much more I like order. Hyung, do you like living as pigs do? You can dress well, but you will continue to detach the odor. Starting today, I will be your personal assistant who will help you make your stay a more... livable. For the rest of my eternal life.”

Chapter 5 of my Hosie fic is officially ready!
took a little longer than expected but I finally finished it
After talking to  Mg and Kaleb, Hope circles back around to the kitchen where she left Josie with very specific instructions. When she enters Josie is finishing pouring an entire tray full of fresh hot coffees.”Coffee’s ready just like you asked.” Josie said picking the tray up and meeting Hope at the door. They wandered down hallways and poked their heads into rooms before they found who they were looking for. They found the sheriff and her kids along with mayor Donovan sitting huddled together, at a corner table. The two girls walked up and sat down to the great surprise of all the people sitting there.
“Good morning,” Hope announced cheerfully,” we brought coffee,” Josie sat the tray on the table and pushed it toward them. Slowly hands moved forward and claimed cups but no one drank they all just stared at them in shock.
Maya and Ethan took cups first and followed by sheriff Mac then Mayor Donovan who only held the mug but never drank. “Thank you girls,” the sheriff said shakily like she was waiting for the second shoe to drop. Without an invitation, Hope and Josie sat down at the table like nothing at all had happened the night before.
They both waited with false patience for everyone to drink their coffee so they could move on with their plan,” all right level with me,” the mayor said eyeing the cup,” is this poisoned?” Hope couldn’t blame him for wondering. If she were any other member of her family it would be a real possibility but it was because of said family members that she had Josie spike the coffee with vervain this morning. She was sure that the mayor was already on vervain but as for the sheriff and her family, it was better safe than sorry.
“What on earth are you talking about uncle Matt?” Josie asked with a smile and a sip of her coffee to prove him wrong.
Every student on campus that wasn’t a vampire was already on vervain, so Hope didn’t need to worry about them and since she was now an official Original it was easy enough to compel Kaleb and Mg when she met with them this morning, and that only left the humans in attendance. After a short excruciating moment, they all took a sip of their drink. Hope smiled and was about to leave when Caroline appeared behind them.
“Well this is unexpected,” she said eyeing the occupants of the table. She was much more put together this morning then she was when Hope saw her last night, hopefully, her talk with Lizzie had gone well. Realization washed over Hope followed by a dull sense of dread. She had forgotten about Caroline, of course Caroline knew about what had happened last night how could she not.
“Good morning Caroline,” Hope says with a grin,” weird question, is there any chance you’re on vervain right now?”
“You laced the coffee with vervain?” Matt asked shocked as he stared down into his coffee.
Hope didn’t answer him, she might have been trying to save his life but that didn’t mean she was happy with him. Forgiving and forgetting was never Hope’s strong point, but that didn’t mean he deserved to die. Caroline seemed to realize why Hope was asking without saying anything and she shook her head no. “well,” Hope started turning her attention back to Caroline,” do you want coffee or compulsion?”
The twins’ mother made a face clearly unhappy with both options, Hope didn’t like it either but what other choice did they have. “ Compulsion,” she said definitively,” it’s more long term and much less painful.” Hope was no more comfortable compelling Caroline than she was her friends earlier but grudgingly she stood and met Caroline’s eyes. Compulsion was easier than Hope had expected it to be, she thought forcing her will upon others would be harder but apparently not.
She was very careful with the wording,” you will remember what you learned happened to me last night, but you will not be able to share that information with anyone that doesn’t already know it.” Caroline blinked once, then twice. Then she was back.” glad that’s done. Now there’s only one thing left.”
Hope picked up the last mug of coffee and braced herself. Before she could stop herself, she put the glass to her lips and tried to gulp down the drink. Her throat seized and started to blister as she clamped her hand over mouth forcing the poisoned drink down. While she was choking, Josie grabbed her hand and watched her with worried eyes, she knew this was part of the plan but that didn’t mean that she was prepared for it.
“Well, now that that’s done,” Hope choked out forcing herself to stand,” If you’ll excuse me I have to go pack.” she left the table alone, only feeling slightly guilty for leaving Josie to answer all the questions.
She swiftly made her way back to her room and started packing her thing, she wouldn’t need much just a few of her personal belongings and her grimoires, she had another wardrobe at home in New Orleans so she didn’t have to pack up everything every time she moved back and forth. She had just started taking her books off the shelves when there was a loud knock at her door. She opened it with a flick of her wrist to see the twins on the other side.
“Hey we just wanted to check-in, see if you need help packing or something,” Lizzie said as they walked in. Hope was surprised by the offer, it seemed very unlike Lizzie but she still accepted.
“Sure,” she answered,” will you leave the door propped open, I have a feeling I’m going to get a lot of visitors today.” and she was right, dozens of people stopped by, some she’d never really even talked to before, to check up on her or to catch a glimpse of the mythical tribrid. For some reason, Hope wasn’t upset by this, she was leaving for who knows how long and it was nice to see everyone before that. They had been doing more talking than packing when Landon and Raphael appeared at her door, timidly knocking on her open door.
Hope grinned when she saw them but it was Josie who spoke,” Hey guys,” she grinned from the other side of the room where she was flipping through one of Hope’s grimoires. Landon stood in her doorway and didn’t come any further in the room. Things had been tense between them since they broke up weeks ago, but they’d been so busy dealing with the drama of school that they just pushed it aside. The breakup was mutual, both of them had different priorities, Landon’s being discovering his new powers and Hope’s being saving the Saltzmans, and things between them just kinda fell apart. It was hard and she missed being able to talk to him but in the end, Hope was good at being alone.
“How are you holding up Hope?” Raphael asked.
“ I’m fine,” Hope repeated for the millionth time,” you know I don’t go down that easy.” the twins chuckled at her joke and Landon gave a weak smile but Raphael just seemed confused.
“Well since no one will tell me what went on last night I actually wouldn’t know,” Hope swelled with pride at how well her plan was working already and her family isn’t even on campus yet.” so I figured I would come straight to the source and ask,” he stared at her for a moment expecting her to spill everything. When she didn’t he continues,” what happened last night Hope?”
Hope wouldn’t meet his eyes, she didn’t like keeping secrets from her friends, even when it was necessary she still felt guilty. She didn’t know how to respond and things were just starting to get awkward when another voice spoke up.
“You know, I was wondering the exact same thing,” Marcel was leaning against her door frame grinning at her and Hope was running without even realizing it. She wrapped her arms around his neck with so much force that if he were anyone else he would have stumbled back. It had been so long since she’d seen him, and she hadn’t realized just how much she missed him. His strong arms pulled her closer and she was safe and loved like she was a little girl again, with her family protecting her.
“You’re early,” she said pulling away from him slightly.
“And you haven’t packed,” he said looking over her at the disaster that was her room right now. Lizzie had started packing her clothes before Hope had stopped her so now half of her closet was on the floor. Josie was surrounded by spell books on the ground all opened to different pages, and Hope was in the middle of cleaning out her desk when they’d gotten distracted.
“Well you weren’t supposed to be here till tonight,” she responded waving her hands at all her junk.
“We caught an earlier flight.” Marcel eyed the two boys in Hope’s room and thankfully they were both smart enough to quickly find their way out before he started asking questions. It’s not that she wasn’t allowed to date, it’s just that they were very protective and always enjoyed scaring off any boy who had the nerve to talk to her.
Hope purposefully ignored Landon and Raphael as they tucked tail and ran,” where are the others?” she asked getting worried.
“Well Kol and Rebekah are talking to Alaric and Caroline right now,” Hope suppressed the panic in her stomach at that thought,” and Davina is off picking up breakfast. Which means we have a minute to talk without them.” Hope’s eyebrows shoot up and her curiosity was peaked.
“Can you give us a minute?” she asked the twins apologetically.
“Of course,” Josie answered as they made thier way to the door,” just don’t leave without saying bye.” they disappeared around the corner as Hope fought to repress the grin on her face. She was already going to have to answer questions about the boys in her room later, she didn’t need to add Josie to that list too. She couldn’t risk that with her, she was one of her best friends and she couldn’t do anything to mess that up. She pushed those thoughts from her mind and turned to face Marcel who was closing the door behind them.

Landon was looking for answers, wondering why he felt like nothing in his life changed. It felt like the most important piece of his life was missing. Being immortal, it didn't take the Kirby boy long to realize that being immortal usually meant being alone, and being alone was somewhat hopeless.
Josie and Lizzie were spending the summer apart. Lizzie was with Caroline, both of the Gemini twins having questions about the merge and the Ascendant, something that they had made with their Aunt Bonnie when they were five. The twins talked very astral projection, but it wasn't the same. With MG and Kaleb gone with Kaleb's family, Penelope in Belgium, and Rafael stuck in wolf form, Josie almost felt alone in the house she called her home. She thought maybe she'd have Landon, but he had been keeping to himself.
She did have Alaric, though, who was no longer the headmaster of the Salvatore Boading School.
Landon tried to spend as much time as he could with Rafael though, try to make things normal for them. No one knew how Rafael got stuck in his wolf form even when it wasn't a full moon. Josie might've wanted to go to Europe to be with her sister and their mother, but she didn't want to leave Alaric alone.
"Any updates on who the hell Mystery Supergirl is?" Lizzie asked, sitting on Josie's bed through their astral projection.
Both twins looked the picture frame on one of their drawers, a girl with dark brown hair smiling in the middle of the two girls at a bonfire. Pictures of her were everywhere, it seemed. MG had one with her hanging on his wall in his dorm room, Landon had found polaroids of himself with her or her with Rafael in their room. There was even a bedroom left empty, everyone suspecting that it was her room. They all thought that perhaps she was the one who fell in the hole that closed it, which would make sense. Anyone and everyone who went through the Malivore pit got forgotten.
Lizzie has thus dubbed her "Mystery Supergirl," even though they knew her name. Her school files that Dorian found said that her name was Lilah Desmarais, that she was a vampire with no family. When Landon was found at the Malivore pit, he was considered a hero. When the girl's photos and belongings were found at the school, they all had decided that whoever this Lilah had been, she had jumped into the pit, which created everyone's forgotten memories of her.
"Other than her name and her bedroom, she's just gone, Lizzie. Whoever she was, she helped Landon destroy the Malivore pit, probably falling into it in the process," Josie shrugged.
"Lilah was really pretty," Lizzie said, frowning as she looked at the frame.
Josie nodded and picked it up, bringing it back to the bed as they stared at the photo of them.
"She looks happy in this picture," Josie stated. "She must've been a really good friend if she was willing to be forgotten just to protect us, Landon, and the school."
Outside of the school, Landon ran into Alaric as he held a tray of various raw meats, on his way to feed Rafael.
"Dr. Saltzman, long time no see," Landon smiled at the old headmaster.
"I see Raf is eating better than I am," Alaric joked.
"Yeah, well, you get stuck in permanent wolf form, and you, too, can hit the all-you-can-eat meat buffet," joked Landon right back.
"Yeah. Any luck finding a spell to turn him back?"
"I'm working on it. Any luck figuring out why I can't remember destroying the Malivore pit with Mystery Supergirl, or who she might've been? Maybe Roman's found anything out?"
"I'm working on it. And Caroline thought it was best Roman took a break for now, with it being summer and the change of headmasters. He's currently on vacation," he said, and Landon nodded. "Everything else good?"
"Totally," Landon lied, shaking his head as he spoke.  He held up the tray of meats and said, "Here's to success."

Penelope Park frowned down at the photo she found in her box of things that reminded her of Josie. It was a polaroid, taking selfie style of her, Josie, that boy that recruited students for the Salvatore School, and a long haired brunette she didn't remember.
Her parents didn't like it when she had contact with people back at the school, thinking it would prevent her from moving on and starting a new life. She missed Josie.
She stared at the photo, confused why she didn't remember that day. The four of them were sitting at one of the outdoor seats at the Mystic Grill, looking like they were on a double date. It made absolutely no sense that she didn't remember her or even remember hanging out with Roman Sienna.
Penelope did remember the Malivore pit drama that she had been around to see. She frowned when she realized there was a person in her life she would probably never remember, likely having gone into the pit.
She shook her head, putting the Polaroid down to look at the rest of her Josie memorabilia, wondering if the brunette Saltzman girl would ever finally be happy.

Lilah sat on the countertop of Roman's kitchen counters, sipping on the blood bag he had given her. He was standing by the archway to his kitchen, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed as he stared at her.
"You? Crazy?" he asked sarcastically, but he shook his head, stepping in closer to her. "I don't really know what to think of you, Desmarais."
"So you don't think I'm crazy?" she asked as he came in front of her, standing in between her legs, so close to her.
"Oh no," he chuckled. "I definitely think you're crazy."
He sent her his killer smile and she shoved his shoulder away, the boy backing up a bit as they both laughed. He placed his hands on the counter behind him, leaning against it instead as he stared at the girl across from him, who was kicking her legs back and forth as she drank from the blood bag. He wasn't too sure how to read her.
One minute, she was this badass girl who was on the Mikaelson's good side, stories of her fighting alongside them to protect the city were still spoken amongst the supernatural in the quarter, she's this girl who can rescue him from being held captive.
The next minute, she seems like just a teenager, wandering the world confused and somewhat broken. Roman knew a mental breakdown when he saw one, and apart from the forgetting moments and trying to jog her memory, he wondered what it was that got suppressed so far down that she's trying so hard to remember.
"So, why do you think I'm the key to why you woke up near Mystic Falls?" Roman inquired, curious about her proclamation.
She put the blood bag down on the counter after she had sucked it dry, wiping her lips.
"I keep remembering things whenever you're around," she confessed. "Like... moments that I forgot or something."
"But why would I help you remember? We just met a few weeks ago."
"I don't know," Lilah shrugged. "I just know that when I'm around you, or if I touch things you have, I have the most eerie feeling of deja vu, which I also have when I—"
She cut herself short. She had deja vu whenever she touched something that belonged to Elijah, her father.
"When what?" Roman asked, stepping closer to her again, placing his hands on her waist to get her to stop fidgeting.
"Whenever I touch something that was my father's," she muttered.
"Your dad's alive?" he asked.
She shook her head no. As she sat there, she wondered if her secret was a piece to figuring out the puzzle. What if the big forgotten mystery had something to do with the Mikaelson family. Lorelle comes back right when Lilah starts to feel like she was in some morphed version of reality, right when everyone can't recall the girl in the photos with the Mikaelsons.
"How could I not realize it before?" she whispered.
"Realize what?"
She pushed Roman away, getting off of his counter. She put her shoes back on, looking at the confused blond who was following after her.
"I don't think you're the answer. I think I'm the answer," she said.
Of course she was. She was a Mikaelson, everything always linked back to them. The first vampire family, the ones that couldn't be killed. But she was truly the one who couldn't be killed. Not white oak, not Marcel's venom, not any magic in the world. The answer had to lie within the Mikaelson family.
She opened his door, planning on rushing out to her family, but he shut the door, grabbing her wrist.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, wanting her to stop and breath for a second.
She looked at him, swallowing and clearing her throat before she was able to say, "I'm a Mikaelson. I'm the answer."
He looked at her peculiarly, a flash of fear running through his face at her statement. "W-what do you mean you're a Mikaelson?"
"You're not the only one who can lie about their identity, Roman. I have to go," she said.

DISCUSSION BOARD
· so we get a small glimpse into life at the salvatore school sans lilah! remember, when hope jumped into the pit, she asked alaric to burn any evidence that hope was ever alive. hope wouldn't have been able to guess that lilah's entire timeline/life gets uprooted back to new orleans in the absence of her, so she never asked alaric to get rid of them. much like the photos of hope everywhere in new orleans, there's going to be some of lilah at the school.
· we also see a lot of lilah's similarities to landon. in aftermath, they had been developing a friendship that was soon blotched at Miss Mystic falls for a short while, lilah and landon never actually talked about the things he had said about roman that upset her, then ofc he got kidnapped, and then ofc this all happened.
· i also made it so that Lilah's school files never got changed after she came clean about who she was two years prior, partly because, as a 1000+ old vampire, she never had real legal documents. She had fake ones made when Hayley enrolled her and Hope into the Salvatore School, in which she never went to fix.
· also the parallel between everyone in Mystic Falls dubbing Lilah "Mystery Supergirl" based on her phhotos Roman being "Mystery Blond" and Hope being the mysterious girl in the photos.
· i also loved Penelope, so showing her in Belgium was so fun! i might have her come back, who knows? i love changing julie plec's storyline BAHA

In this Essay
Firstly before I start this essay i apologize for the long post I don’t know how to add a read more link. I also would just like to share this YouTube video and quote.
youtube
The tragedy is all right there...in the very beginning when he smiles at her. When she instantly forgets. Forgets how dangerous he is.
Anne Eliot
(We come back to the quote later I promise, there’s a point. it’ll just take a bit to get there.)
Last thing before, I start this essay that these are my opinions and thoughts and are in no way the be all and end all of opinions. I also hope that I remain neutral in my discussion.
Talks of abuse both emotional and physical bellow.I also feel like I have to preface this with I know that the type of manipulative and abuse relationships are real, and complicated in real world but this is a TV Show and not actually real. A fantasy that people can explore safetly. That fantasy is the bad guy with a heart of gold or the bad guys that are only nice to a girl they fancy. Now, on to the essay!
In this essay I will discuss my complex feelings about the relationship between Lizzie x Sebastian. Sizzie is a mix of two previous relationships we’ve seen before albeit updated/slightly different. Those relationships that Sebastian and Lizzie relationship mirrors are Klaus and Caroline as well as Elena and Damon. The mirroring of these two couples is what I have complex feelings over. (I don’t like the previous sentence but I don’t know what to say).
From the very first episode we know that Lizzie is in a precarious position. From her talks with Josie we know that she’s in therapy to better herself.
My guess is that her therapist told Lizzie the best way to better herself Lizzie is trying to focus on herself and her feelings and people around her and not fall into old habits.Old habits being sleeping with boys in order to fill a void of not feeling loved or cherished.
We also know that she slips up sometimes in her journey toward personal growth. Ie foreign dude I cannot remember the name of.
On her journey toward growth we discover that this is gonna be Lizzie’s year of yes.
So MG asks her out she says yes.
And she was probably thinking it would be the year of yes, to hanging out with friends, helping them, maybe fight monsters and be a badass or take like a cooking class or something. I think wasn’t even thinking about dating or boys for that matter.
So, Lizzie knowing fully that she needs to focus on herself probably says yes because she knows that MG is a friend and even if the date goes well, he’ll respect her wishes.
She knows what she wants.
We know from a little bit later that Sebastian only prays on the weak minded, the fragile people in his ghostly state. (When he’s trapped in the box)
Going back to season one we know that the genie chose Lizzie because she was weak or broken. So, realizing that in herself or with Caroline, Lizzie goes off to Europe away from all the baggage of school in order to get help.
However, Summer only lasts like three months and her therapy sessions and personal growth have just started so, being back at the school with her classmates, a new headmaster, a dad who’s busy with other things and mom who barely comes home due to magical problems doesn’t help. Doubt and/or insecures are going to pop up.
And this my dear friends is were Sebastian and the abuse comes in, maybe both emotional and physical abuse.
From our very first meeting we know that Sebastian is handsome and charming. Lizzie is definitely interested because of these things and by the fact that he is mysterious. (I also fell for that smile) It’s just an added bonus that he knows absolutely nothing about her. So, like she told MG she basically has a chance to make a good impression.
As time moves on we know that he gives her what I can now see as definitely as warnings to stay away.
At the football game he shows up getting her away from her friends and they banter and Sebastian tells her that she reminds her of someone, but that he bewitches him.
Not realizing it for what is the the mix of Damon and Klaus, Lizzie is charmed by it. The pattern repeats with the picnic and probably would have continued if MG hadn’t come to film.
Even though Sebastian is intrigued by Lizzie because he reminds her of his lost love it’s not enough because once Sebastian is free of the box though he starts territories the town probably acting similar to Klaus when he showed up. A baddie.
And he does so until MG and rest stop him and only helps when Lizzie is in danger.
The tricks continue with Sebastian when they have car trouble. However this time the con is both emotional and with his body.
Also, in the car sex scene he gave off a bunch of tips, breaking Landon’s neck, and the, “your forgetting I’m dangerous.”
He’s toying with Lizzie another Early stage Klaus or Damon move.
Before I get to much further I’d like to explore Sebastian’s character a bit.
Sebastian clearly has he had to deal with a lot.
Being abandoned by his parents for money
Abused by his shipmates, unable to run away
Lost his love and was unable to do anything to help cause he was trapped and has not had a chance to grieve.
Lost like 400+ years of life to being in a box.
Now has to figure out how to live in the modern world and has no idea what to do and nobody to turn to.
Also my guess is that Lizzie was at first using him as distraction from her own messed up feelings of missing something until she remembered Hope, Sebastian maybe realizes this cause he’s using Lizzie as a way to not face his own problems.
However, when Lizzie remembers Hope, it helps with her journey of self confidence, growth so she sees Sebastian as something different, a romantic interest maybe, even though she doesn’t want to admit it.
Shortly before he gets sent to the prison world he probably realizes that he maybe almost has feelings for Lizzie.
So, when Lizzie shows up in Prison World, he pulls out all the fancy stops wooing her with things: the house, dress, dancing because he doesn’t want to lose her. A Klaus move.
When Lizzie rejects his offer he manipulates her, tricking her, forcing her to drink his blood.
And it’s probably this thing that makes Lizzie realize that she and Sebastian aren’t right for each other. At least right now.
As is right now, Sebastian and Lizzie relationship is toxic and bad but so was Damon and Elena’s and even Klaus and Caroline’s relationship, it changed over time. It however took a lot of work, over a number of years.
I don’t know what Plec and company have planned for the next couple episodes or even if they are planning to bring back Thomas Doherty back if they have next season i could definitely see having a repeat of the Delena and Klaroline relationship type in Lizzie and Sebastian.
If they don’t bring Sebastian back for another season I hope that Lizzie will realize she doesn’t always need the love of a guy and she is enough or at least realize that her family and friends love her. Anyway just continue that journey of personal growth is what I’m saying.
In conclusion, the main reason this is complicated for me is because i feel for both Lizzie and Sebastian separate from each other as their own people and they deserve to figure out their lives and the different options they have before being in a relationship with one another or with someone new.

Week Two
hey it's ya boi back again for a week two transition update! boring info first, then a summary of what's been going on
When: 10/26/19 - 11/1/19 (started T on 10/18/19)
Testosterone: I'm using Androderm, which is a daily patch you stick on exactly like a nicotine patch
Dosage: 2 mg per day, although you can get them in 5 mg per day patches
Changes: Increased hunger (again), new pimples, slightly darker leg hair?, orgasms easier to achieve and feels 20% better
OK so I'm putting the stuff about that last change below the cut lol, along with the bullshit bad side effects from the patches
check out my week one post if you want to know how the increased hunger started off. it's still going though, but it does feel like I'm finally evening out, where I know how hungry I get now and when. for anyone who missed the week one post, the increased hunger means I get hungry a lot sooner than I used to (1-2 hours) and feel it more intensely. this is a difference only eating half to 3/4 of a sandwich, plus some chips, to being able to eat a whole sandwich, 1/4 a bag of chips, and dessert
the redness around my most common breakout areas (as I remember from First Puberty) has developed into one big actual pimple on my chin, and a couple smaller ones around my lip. still some redness on my forehead, but no pimples up there yet. I'm not doing any skincare routine at the moment, but I'm planning on adding a facial wash to my next grocery shopping trip
my leg hair might be slightly darker? idk it's hard to compare bc it's always been so light and fine, I don't have any pictures of it bc I've never been able to SEE it. I never even bothered shaving my thighs when I was femme bc you'd never know without physically touching my leg. the difference now though is that I can see it! so I think it must be a little darker to be actually visible now. no change in how much body hair I have though
tw: this next part does talk about genitals, and I'm using clit / vagina to describe things bc that's what I'm comfortable with. I know that's not the norm for most trans guys though, so skip down to the asterisks in the middle if you need to skip this part
I'm including this bc I couldn't find any good info from an actual trans guy about "downstairs" changes that wasn't actually just porn. scrolling through a thousand trans dick pics on a nsfw reddit sub just to get an idea of what changes to expect was NOT fun
so far, no clit growth as far as I've noticed. I don't have bottom dysphoria, so I'm not especially hoping for it either. I also haven't noticed my libido increasing (getting horny more often), my sexual attraction shifting (yep still ace), becoming wet more often / not getting wet as easily, vaginal tightness / soreness, or any chafing
the only changes have been that I think it's a little easier to make an orgasm happen, regardless of how good the stimulation actually is. I was having a lazy jack off session and hadn't really bothered to get everything wet enough and worked up enough for it to feel as good as it could have, but still had a fucking fantastic orgasm even though the stimulation was just mehh?? so that's weird but cool I guess
the 20% is just a random ass number. I absolutely cannot do math and there's no way to actually measure this. I've just noticed that the handful of orgasms I've had since starting T have been better. not like holy shit a LOT better, but better enough that I sure as hell noticed
for context though, I don't use any sort of penetration and haven't used those types of toys in about two years. haven't had penetrative sex in seven. so if there's any vaginal atrophy, or extra tightness, soreness, etc going on down there, I might not notice as much or as quickly bc I just don't mess with that area
***
OK bullshit skin reaction from the patches. I understand why they get a bad rep because going into week two, I have started getting some pretty nasty reactions, especially since I figured out these are 24 hour patches and started leaving them on that long
the least bad reaction is on my upper arms, which just have very small circles of red skin that coincide exactly with, or are smaller than, the circle of T on the patch that's supposed to seep into your skin
second worst is my stomach, with one side having a slightly bigger red patch similar to the ones on my arms, but the other side that's a little higher up being a much darker red and a bit larger
absolute worst is on my upper thighs. the right thigh has a HUGE swollen red patch, with a big circle in the middle that looks and feels like it got sunburned by a concentrated laser. left side isn't that bad, but it only starts swelling up after you take the patch off, so it could just be taking a bit to get nasty. it's worse than the bad side on my stomach in terms of being even a little bigger than that, but also not as deeply red
this isn't all that bad though bc they don't hurt at all. I'm typing this with my laptop and a laptop table braced on my thighs and stomach right now and absolutely no pain. they don't even hurt to touch, unless I scratch at them
unfortunately, I very much want to scratch at them. so fucking bad. because they ITCH. that's the real concern here. they itch really badly, and it gets way worse when I go outside in the cold and my skin dries out. I've been putting lotion on them a couple of times a day, and that does help. I think part of this reaction is that my skin always gets dry, red, and itchy during the winter, and the patches are 1) making that worse for the area of skin they cover and 2) drying out the skin badly enough that it takes way longer to recover, plus it's always cold right now, so my skin literally can't catch a break
again, I'm not too freaked out by this because it doesn't hurt. if anything hurt, I would be hauling my ass to the doctor because I have a very low pain tolerance! it's just itchy and looks gross. I'm also kind of chill about it because I have an appointment with my endocrinologist in a week anyway, and as long as my skin isn't peeling off or hurting or bleeding, I might as well wait and go in for that appointment instead of dealing with all the hassle, bullshit, and possible extra expensive of trying to arrange something sooner
I've included pictures of the skin reactions, which are kind of gross looking but no worse than a sunburn. underneath the comparison selfies bc I'd rather ppl see me as a human being first and then as a gross dry skin monster lol

(better with or without glasses?)
gross skin reaction pics, didn’t get good ones of my stomach tho, sorry my thighs are so fucking pasty lol

Chapter 5
“I walk through this world, just tryna be nice
They say I'll get hurt, if I'm not like ice
I know I've got friends, I still get so lonely
If I look in your eyes, I'll want you to hold me
I'm sorry that I care, care
I'm sorry that I care, care
It's really not that fair, fair
I can't help but care”
-- Feeings, Hayley Kyioko
__________
“Yo! Penelope! Wait up!” MG yells from across the dining hall as he jogs to catch up with Penelope.
Penelope stops, letting the sea of exiting students pass by her.
After ending their impromptu spell lesson in the woods with a literal bang, Penelope hadn’t returned to classes, opting to spend the remainder of the afternoon buried deep within the comforting stacks the library instead. Book had always been a bit of a sanctuary for her. No matter the time nor the place, they were ever constant. A reliable anchor in the chaotic sea of Penelope’s life.
Once leaving the Salvatore School and becoming nomadic, books— non-magical books— were a real luxury. Sure, there was always an abundance of ancient spell books laying around and Caroline loved to surprise Hope and Penelope every so often with an obscure text on mythical rituals and covens. But anything that fell outside of those realms was rare at best.
The only book that Penelope had managed to keep amongst her few belongings-- besides her journal-- was a mangled copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It had been a one-month anniversary gift from Josie. A simple paperback version so that she didn’t have to lug around her first edition hardcover copy whenever she felt like re-reading it. It was her favorite. Not only within the series but possibly out of all the books Penelope had ever read. There was just something so oddly reassuring about the story itself. The ability to go back in time and right the wrongs of the past.
Although Penelope had had to make the gut-wrenching decision to leave the book behind-- opting to take Josie’s yellow sweater instead-- she did remember that there was a stray copy of the book hidden away deep within the school library in the section where all the modern books with pop-culture references to witchcraft lived. And after locating it, she had curled up in one of the free wingback chairs and allowed herself to get lost within its pages.
Sure, it wasn’t the most productive use of her time-- especially given the ever-present countdown ticking away in the back of her mind-- but one that still needed nonetheless. A little extra reassurance that just maybe there would be a happier ending to their story this time around.
But after an hour or two of non-stop reading, Penelope’s hunger had gotten the best of her and she decided to wander down to the dining hall for an early dinner. And to her luck, it had been almost deserted, with only a few young students sprinkled throughout the hall.
The plan had been to eat quick and then retreat back to the safety of her own dorm room in the hopes that maybe Josie would be true to her word and swing by later. In and out. Unnoticed. As if it were just another day at Salvatore.
And for the most part, it had been successful… Until now.
“Hey, I’ve been trying to track you down all day,” MG says slightly out of breath. “What’s going on?”
“What’d you mean?” Penelope responds, trying to mask the growing ball of nerves within her stomach.
“What’d I mean?? Pen, you were all set to up and peace out of here last night. You swung by my room to say goodbye and yet… You’re still here. What gives? I thought you were done with this place?”
“I changed my mind.” Penelope holds her breath and silently says a prayer that MG will accept her answer at face value rather than digging a little bit deeper.
“You mean Josie changed your mind.”
“No… Not exactly… I just…” Penelope fumbles over her words, but it doesn’t matter. MG’s eyes light up with an all-knowing spark regardless.
“Ah… I knew it! I… knew… it! You two are the freakin’ modern-day Romeo and Juliette man. Star crossed lovers. Destined to be together no matter what happens and all that shit.”
“MG…”
“No, seriously Pen. That’s you and Josie. You guys give the rest of us hope, you know?”
“Please tell me you aren’t still hung up on Lizzie.”
“A boy’s gotta dream,” MG responds with a bit of shrug.
Penelope sighs. She shouldn’t do it… Just let sleeping dogs lay. It will all work itself out in time. MG will meet another vampire-- a transfer student from Denmark-- during his senior year at Salvatore, fall head over heels in love and forget all about his unhealthy obsession with the blonde-haired siphoner. The two will end up getting married and even go on to have an adorable baby boy who shares MG’s infectious smile. She really shouldn’t. But--
“Piece of advice?”
“Always from you.”
“Pick a different dream.”
“But--”
“Trust me on this, MG.” Penelope reaches out and places her hand down on MG’s shoulder, locking eyes with him as she does. “Pick a different dream.”
It takes a moment to sink in but then slowly MG’s face transforms into a look of common understanding. He gives a nod in return.
“Good,” Penelope replies and offers up a sympathetic smile. It isn’t much but it’s all she can think of doing without further crossing the line. “I’ve got a mountain of reading to get through tonight, so maybe we can continue to catch up in the morning? Over breakfast?”
“Yeah sure.”
“Great.”
“Oh, wait! Pen, there’s something else,” MG says with a sudden urgency to his voice. “It’s Hope.”
“Hope? What about her?”
“Dunno. Think she got some bad news about Landon or something. She seemed pretty choked up last I saw her. Like she had been crying. Figured you might wanna know.”
“Shit. Malivore,” Penelope mutters under her breath.
“Maliv- What?”
“Nevermind… Thanks for the heads up.”
“Yeah, no prob--” But Penelope doesn’t wait for MG to finish his sentence before taking off out of the dining hall and diving straight back into the sea of students.
__________
“Mikaelson! Open up,” Penelope bangs against Hope’s dorm room door a few minutes later sweaty and out of breath.
“Go away, Penelope,” Hope answers back, voice trembling with tears.
“Not happening.” Penelope waits for a minute or two for any sign of a further response but is only met with silence. She lets out a frustrated sigh. “Fuck.”
Penelope takes a giant step back from the dorm room door and shuts her eyes. “Aperi ianuam.”
BANG.
The dorm room door flies open and slams against the wall causing Hope to jump out of her skin. “What the fuck?! Did you just use magic to break into my room?”
“Relax,” Penelope replies. “I do it all the time… Or I used too… You get what I mean.”
Penelope crosses the threshold into Hope’s room and then mutters an incoherent phrase under her breath. The door shuts close followed by an audible click. “See? Good as new.”
“Not the point.” Hope settles herself back onto her bed. She swipes at her eyes with the sleeve of her cardigan, in an attempt to mask all traces of her tears. But it doesn’t matter. Penelope already knows. Six years of spending every single moment side by side with the Tribrid and she doesn’t need much in regards to cues. All it takes is a slight quiver on the end of a word or a brief flash of raw emotion buried deep within those golden eyes. That’s all. And Penelope can piece the rest of the puzzle together.
Every time.
“Move,” Penelope says as she climbs onto the bed and wedges herself next to Hope.
“What are you--”
“No seriously… Move over.” Penelope gives Hope a nudge in the ribcage with her elbow and Hope obliges. “God, you’re such a bed hog.”
Hope shoots Penelope a hard eye roll. “Am not.”
“Oh, you so are, Furball. And a mad cuddler too, but we’re not gonna get into that one right now,” Penelope replies and slumps her head against Hope’s shoulder. It’s a selfish move… Especially given that this isn’t her Hope, but at the moment, she doesn’t care. It’s been beyond a day and her skin itches with the need for just a little bit of familiarity. “Right now we’re gonna talk about why you are hiding out in here and crying.”
“I wasn’t--”
“Let’s skip bullshit, okay? You were. And it must be about something pretty big cause you brought out Mr. Bearrington.”
Hope’s eyes instantly glance towards her nightstand where a raggedy old teddy bear sits slumped over on top of a pile of textbooks. “How did you…”
“I told you, Mikaelson,” Penelope says with a hint of a smirk. “I know you.”
“God, this is so weird.”
“You’ve got no idea.”
A momentary silence settles within the room as Hope leans over to the nightstand and scoops up the teddy bear. She rubs her fingers in methodical circles along the stuffed animal’s threadbare ear over and over again and Penelope knows that this is her cue to sit tight and wait.
Words will come. They always do. It’s just a matter of giving Hope the proper amount of time and space needed to wade through her inner tumultuous sea of thoughts and emotions first.
Another minute or two passes by and then--
“Okay,” Hope says, breaking the silence. She stops rubbing the teddy bear and sighs. “You’re right. I was crying.”
“About Landon?”
“Landon?” Hope asks with a sudden quirk of her eyebrow.
“Yeah. I thought… MG mentioned that you… Wait. This isn’t about Landon?”
Hope out a bark of a laugh. “No… God no. It’s not about him… But I guess it could be. It depends on how you look at it.”
“Alright… So… If it’s not about Landon, then who…” Penelope trails off as a wave of clarity all but blindsides her. She doesn’t need to finish her sentence because she already knows the answer.
In fact, they’ve had this same exact conversation before. Except for the first time when it happened, they had been sitting on the rooftop at 3 am in Paris and halfway through their second bottle of Jack Daniels. It had been on the night that Caroline had let it slip that Lizzie was dating someone new… A Romanian witch named Violet.
At first, Penelope didn’t think twice about it. Caroline was always providing them with tidbits of information from the world that they once called home. And that specific comment had seemingly been no different than the rest. Just another brief update intermixed within their normal dinner conversations.
After it was said, though, Penelope noticed that Hope’s entire demeanor had instantly changed. She seemed off with a look upon her face that was only reversed for those rare moments when her emotions were too strong to hide from the outside world.
So Penelope did what she always did in those situations when she needed Hope to open up. She guilty tripped the Tribrid into joining her for a nightcap at a local pub and proceed to all but pour shot after shot down Hope’s throat.
It took six shots in total. Six shots to crack through Hope’s stoic facade and finally get to the real root of the problem. Hope had indeed been thrown off by the news about Lizzie.
But it wasn’t until four hours later when they had stumbled their way back home and ontop their apartment rooftop, did Hope reveal the full truth to Penelope. She had been head-over-heels in love with Lizzie Saltzman since she first time she had laid eyes on the blonde-haired siphoner.
The conversation that followed was one of the best-- and most honest-- conversations that the two of them ever had with each other. It had, in short, be a turning point for their relationship. The moment where they transitioned from friendship into something so much more.
“I know you said you can’t reveal too much about the future, but can I ask you something?”
“Sure. Anything,” Penelope responds without missing a beat.
“Do I…” Hope pauses for a moment and lets go of a breath of air. “Do I ever end up getting together with Lizzie?”
The question cuts deep. Ripping straight through Penelope’s soul.
God, how the hell is she supposed to answer this? It’s such a simple yet complex question.
Penelope blinks away a hint of tears from her eyes and then forces a reassuring smile upon her lips. “Let’s say that if you both had had the chance to, you and Liz would’ve been together in a heartbeat.”
“She goes by Liz?” Penelope nods and Hope matches her smile. “Liz… I like that.”
“Yeah. The name fits her… At least the future her.”
Hope slinks down a bit, resting her head against the top of Penelope’s and once again exhales. “I was crying because… I think I’m in love with Lizzie Saltzman.”
“Oh, you are.” Penelope yawns and cuddles in closer, nuzzling up into Hope like she has done countless times before. “And she’s madly in love with you too, Mikaelson.”
“She is?”
“Without a doubt,” Penelope mumbles as her eyelids slowly succumb from the sheer emotional weight of the day. “Okay. My turn to ask you something.”
“Of course. What is it?”
“Would you mind if napped here for a bit? It’s been a crazy long day and just that I can barely keep my eyes open… But if it’s too weird or strange, I can always--”
“Stop,” Hope cuts Penelope off and proceeds to reach down to the foot of the bed and grabs a blanket for the two of them. “Of course you can.”
“Thanks.”
“But if you start to snore, I’m kicking your ass out,” Hope replies with a yawn as well.
“You’re the snorer, Furball. Not me,” Penelope whispers already half-sleep.
Hope shakes her head with a look of amused annoyance and then wraps her arm around Penelope as she gets comfortable. “So freakin’ weird.”

Come Home to Me:
Spoilers from Legacies 1x14 and takes places between S1 and S2. In an attempt to win back the heart of her first love, Josie Saltzman travels to Penelope Park's all-witch school in Belgium. She didn't plan on having MG, Kaleb and Landon join her, "'Cause she might need back-up." #Posie One-Shot
Disclaimer: I do not own Legacies that would be the CW, Julie Plec and usual suspects.
Hello, my lovely readers. I really miss Posie and when Penelope left I was inspired to write this one-shot. The title of the story is based on a song I wrote for the fic which appears in here; I am not a songwriter, so be gentle. On with the show…
                                           Come Home to Me:
Hurriedly packing a bag, Josie Saltzman did not put too much thought into what she might need and she slammed the suitcase closed. Little cloaking spell, she muttered to herself, internally. If anyone caught sight of Josie leaving, and without Lizzie, anywhere in sight, the rumor mill would begin to churn and Josie's hopes would crash.
Peering out the door of her room, Josie smiled when she did not see anyone. Good. This would be better. Not that she worried about her ability to prevent herself from being detected. No. She'd been doing this spell since she was a little girl. This was the easy part.
The hard part would be if she ran into a) her dad and b) Lizzie. Her dad could tell when he'd run into one of the twins during a cloaking spell, because it used to happen all the time. Lizzie would just know. Why? Josie wished she knew.
So, with a deep breath, Josie plunged forward, handle of her bag tightly clutched in her right hand. Inhaling, she slid between the witches, wolves and vampires who she came into contact with. Eventually she bumped into one of them. They seemed to think it was someone else.
A smile on her face, Josie opened the front door and stepped into the sunshine of the warm June day. She could do this. All she had to do was make it to the airport, get on the plane and from there she would be fine. Well, she hoped she would be fine. What if Penelope moved on? What if Penelope did not want to see Josie? What if Penelope was angry with Josie for chasing her down?
Doubts made Josie lose track of where she was headed as she moved along the driveway, planning on meeting up with her cab at the end of the drive when a ball hit her in the back of the head. "Ow!" Josie shouted, head falling forward, hand flying to the back of her head.
"Did you hear that?" MG cried.
"You're trippin,' man," Kaleb said.
"No! No! I heard something!" MG shouted, and Josie turned around to watch MG peering around himself, his eyes narrowed to slits. "There's something out here."
"Yeah. A monster who likes to hurt boys who can't catch a ball. And the ones who can't throw for shit, either," Kaleb set his sights on Landon Kirby who kicked some gravel and looked forlorn.
Ever since Landon came back to the school, he'd been weirder than usual. Josie felt sorry for him. He seemed lonely. And depressed, like he'd lost someone, too.
"I'm sorry, Kaleb. I'm just a human." Landon retorted with a shrug.
"Boo hoo! Come on, man! I'm trying to get you to stop moping around the freakin' school 'And there's something missing. I don't know what it is? Help me figure it out, Doctor Saltzman?' Get a life, Landon. Better yet, get a girl!" Kaleb grinned and MG picked up the ball and threw it to Kaleb, who threw it to Landon and Josie shook her head. She had other problems to deal with.
Then the ball hit her, again, and she let out a hiss of breath. This time it slammed into her arm, and this time it really hurt.
"Oh, shit!" MG breathed. Seconds later, he sat on the gravel with Josie who realized she'd sat down and had begun to rub her sore arm. "Jo! I am so sorry! If I had known it was you…" MG looked horrified.
"Good job, MG, hitting on the school master's daughter," Kaleb cried, a smile on his face as he came to join them. "Josie, you okay, honey?" He leaned over, eyeing Josie's arm with concern.
Josie rolled her eyes. "I'm fine." Kaleb offered a hand and she got to her feet, dusting off her plaid skirt.
"Where are you going?" Landon asked, his eyes on her bag. "Because if you plan on running away, I would suggest you don't. I've been out there," Landon nodded at the world beyond the gate, "not pretty." He offered Josie a tight smile, rocking on his heels.
Josie frowned. "I'm not running away! Don't tell anyone that!" she warned Landon whose brows rose.

#Legacies Season 2, Episode 1-3 Recap & Revciew
We open the second season with Hope in Malivore. Hope is stuck there with (one of) Malivore’s sons, Clark. If you remember, Hope dragged him into Malivore when she sacrificed herself at the end of season one. Clark was working with Triad to help eliminate the entire supernatural community. Hope finally figured out that she may be the key to taking down Malivore. As Malivore was created by a witch, a vampire, and a werewolf, Hope figured since she is all three, she would be the key to “his” destruction. While in Malivore, Hope discovers she was unsuccessful in destroying Malivore. Hope is now was walking around in the dark down in Malivore. A vortex of sorts seems to appear coming with other monsters who are trying to kill Hope. Although at the time, she does not understand. Hope soon finds Clark, and he knows what’s going on. After casting a truth spell on Clark, Hope discovers that Malivore does not want her there - because she is the key to his destruction…but not in her current state. Hope is currently a tribrid - but only one side of her remains untriggered her vampire nature. Once she becomes a full tribrid, she will be able to kill Malivore. Clark knows this. When a vortex comes, he keeps grabbing onto her, hoping it will take them both. The vortex takes things out of Malivore and back into the world. On the outside, Alaric has become the principal of Mystic Falls High. Landon has a deathwish and has a thing with Josie, Rafael is still in wolf form. Oh, and the Salvatore School has a new headmaster. At the end of the episode, Hope sees Landon kissing Josie, and is devastated. Soon after, she comes upon a new monster, a troll. Now, I did think that Julie Plec was going to change up the whole, monster a week thing, but S2 seems to be following that schedule. In E2, Hope is hunting this new monster. She reveals who she is to Alaric, because as we all remember, once Hope sacrificed herself to Malivore, nobody remembers who she is. She lets him know that he is the closest thing she has to a father figure (Rest In Peace, Niklaus) to which Alaric says that he will try his best to get back into the swing of things. Also, on the other side, MG is back to trying to court Lizzie. Lizzie had spent all summer in Europe with Caroline (who has still yet to show herself on screen). Lizzie tells Josie that she and Caroline were spending the summer shopping, flirting with boys. Lizzie later confessed that she is receiving treated by different specialists. This specialist is a healer who is helping her with her mental health, so for Lizzie, it was not having a fun girls summer.
Meanwhile, Josie was still putting the screws to Alaric about the Merge. So, they now they finally know what it is, and what it means. Caroline is supposedly still trying to find alternatives, which I’m guessing she will. While neither of the Saltzman twins is the MAIN characters, the series would suffer if one of them was no longer a part of the show. Back to the monster hunting, they discovered later the monster is a cyclops, and the only way to take it out is to shoot it through its eye. So, in typical fashion, Alaric pulls a crossbow out of one of the lockers at Mystic Falls High and goes on the hunt. Also, in a typical way, Hope says the day by taking the crossbow herself and taking the kill shot.
A new character appears introduced - a guy named Sebastian who catches Lizzie’s eye. Nobody knows where he is from, as he doesn’t have a lot of lines. He comes out of nowhere and is very mysterious. They introduce themselves, Lizzie feels an instant attraction, and then he leaves. MG is the first to know about this interaction and her new crush. It seems MG is forever stuck in the friend zone, which is honestly pretty upsetting. He is head over heels for Lizzie, and Lizzie knows it, yet keeps him around to do her bidding. MG, in a way, “knows” this, but is so taken with her, he believes he may one day get a chance to be the man Lizzie needs in her life. We’ll see what’s in store for MG this season, but I don’t know they will be getting together any time soon.
In E3, things start to get interesting. It’s game day again for Mystic Falls High and the Salvatore School. It seems the rules are changing when it comes to how the game is getting played. The new headmaster WANTS the kids to use their abilities to win. Everyone (at first) seems to be very much into the idea. They obviously kick Mystic Falls’ ass in the first half of the game. In the second, Kaleb mentions that he’s starting to think that they shouldn’t be using their abilities to win and that he agrees with Alaric’s original take on it. The new headmaster does not like this and wants everyone to continue using their powers. He is taking a specific liking to Josie, who, in the last episode, was encouraging the use of offensive magic and possibly dark magic.
His take is very different from Alaric’s, the complete opposite. He feels there is no reason for the kids to hide their abilities, and that the rest of the world (non-magic folk) are less than them. I’m getting a “purist” vibe from him, very much like the pure-bloods vs. half-blood war that most of us know from Harry Potter. The new headmaster is Voldemort, and the rest of the non-supernatural are cattle, while he and the supernatural community are superior. It also doesn’t mention what he is, supernaturally, but I’m guessing he’s a witch.
The monster of this week is pretty much a giant werewolf that only eats other werewolves, so this spells trouble fro Rafael, who is still stuck as a werewolf until Hope can help. To get through undetected, Hope poses as a student on Mystic Falls High’s football team, who play against the Stallions. She fakes an injury so she can go in to see the nurse, goes to Landon’s room, into Rafael’s belongings, and does a locator spell. Landon walks in during the spell and is very confused by what he sees - Hope to do magic. Remember, Landon still doesn’t remember who/what Hope is, he turns to run away, and she stops him with a spell. She tells him she’s a witch and can help Rafael - so that’s all Landon needed to hear to get on board.
In the woods, they come upon the werewolf eater after being drawn to it by hearing a man’s cry. Once they see that it isn’t someone who needs their help, Hope turns into a wolf to lure it away, which didn’t work. It seemed only interesting in Landon, most likely to use him as bait to lure Rafael out.
Meanwhile, at the game, the Stallions need a new QB after Kaleb refused to use his abilities to win - which called for the next available person….Lizzie, who was busy reading up on monsters to find out more about Sebastian…when he shows up to the game. Entranced, she quickly decides to join the game so that Sabastian can watch her in action. This plan backfires, as he eventually walks off back into the woods. She chases after him, and MG after her. She comes upon him in a tunnel in the woods, where they walk. He says they can’t go any further because he’s under the impression that she is human. He lets her know that he is a vampire, and she also lets him know that she’s a witch. He seems very surprised by this. My theory is that he is probably an ancient vampire - especially how’s dressed - that has maybe desiccated for a very long time - I’m thinking just like the vampires in the tomb from Season 1 of TVD. He seems to be unaware that supernaturals are now standard. They kiss, just as MG walks up and is very confused because…no one is there. Lizzie is just standing there making out with….no one. So….Sebastian is an invisible vampire? Does Sebastian even exist? Is this just a figment of Lizzie’s imagination? I guess we’ll find out!
Back at the game, Professor Vardemus is seemingly manipulating Josie into using her powers. They start catching up to the Stallion, and Professor Vardemus doesn’t like that. He asks why she has stopped using her powers, to which she tells him of Kaleb’s protests and Alaric’s - which he tosses aside and gives her a spell. She casts it as the opposing team is making their play and their QB’s arm breaks. I was shocked by this. Josie does not seem the type ever to hurt anyone, yet with Professor Vardemus in her ear, who knows what Josie will do. The game is over.
Back in the woods, Hope catches up with the werewolf monster, with a new human Rafael to save Landon. They execute a quick plan to kill the monster. While Rafael and Landon get to reconnect, Hope finally retreats and lets them have their moment - and disappears and reappears at the hospital to visit the QB who has a broken arm. He had a scholarship, and now it is ruined - all because of Josie. It was a dark moment, but I think Hope will have a hand in fixing this.
Landon and Josie start questioning who/what Hope is - being that Landon saw her both turn into a wolf AND using magic, some questions need answers. The very last scene of the episode ends with Professor Vardemus FEEDING on the dead werewolf eater…..my theory is that he may not be EVIL, but maybe has to feed off of other magical beings? We’ll see what happens! Tune in next week for the recap!

[Where My Twin Watches]: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Episode 6
*comment on Grief Seeds recharging Magical Girls*
Recharge? I was under the impression that using a Grief Seed increased their total amount of magic, not replaced magic that they use up fighting. That... actually changes a lot of my assumptions. If a MG only has a limited amount of power... Wow, that really turns things around. Magical Girls aren't competing for an increase to their power, but the ability to use their power in the first place! That's not trying to get a Devout Mantle to boost stats, but friggin healing potions so you don't die! No wonder MGs don't normally work together, unless they can be effective enough to get more than twice the Grief Seeds they would normally get then it's a losing prospect. ...and that's what happened to Mami, isn't it? Unlike the other girls we've seen she actively used her power to protect Madoka and Sayaka, and fought Familiars along with Witches. She used up more power than if she had been on her own, she was even showing off to Madoka before she faced the Dessert Witch... and then she ran out of power and couldn't fight back. Still hate Kyoko, though. Keep standing in the corner, you!
Back to the fight! Kyoko’s knocked Sayaka down and is going in for the kill, sudden flash of a Mysterious Transfer Student in the falling water droplets… And our original antagonist has appeared. What is going to happen next? Kyoko is not pleased that another MG just interrupted her battle (if you can call it that, Sayaka got beat up pretty badly there). Ooh, Homura’s doing the ‘move so fast I’m suddenly behind you’ anime thing. Is that her power like Sayaka has super healing, or just because she’s an experienced MG? Kyoko figures out that Homura is the “irregularity” that Kyubey told her about, asks what kind of magic she’s using. Hmm, implies that Homura’s flash-step thing is powerful even among magical girls, probably takes a lot of power. Sayaka demands that the Mysterious Transfer Student get out of the fight (loving the shadows in this scene, Sayaka looks very menacing here), she charges forward… and flash-step Homura smacks her down with a neck chop!... ok good, she’s only unconcious. Still, after she endured that fight with Kyoko, how strong is Homura to stop her with a single attack? And why did she attack her? The jerk magical girl is as confused as I am, asks which side Homura is on. “I am on the side of those who think rationally, and an enemy to those who engage in needless conflict. Which are you… Kyoko Sakura?” Kyoko ‘Sakura’? Oh boy. I’m going to have fun trying to not mix up Sayaka and Sakura, aren’t I? Also holy crap, that name drop. Kyoko picks up on it too, is not happy that the MST who she has next to no info on knows her name. Homura is very noncommittal on answering if they have met before. In any case, Kyoko backs off from the staredown, and wall jumps her way out of the alley. Madoka is coming to grips with the fact that Homura stepped in to save her and Sayaka. Maybe she isn’t so bad? (“civilian-protecting” character trait for the win!) Whoa. Whoa, ok. Sudden shadows and asking “How many times must I warn you? How foolish can you possibly be?” Super-closeup of Homura’s eye as it widens in the biggest emotional display we’ve seen. Yeah, I’m with you, Madoka, that is super intimidating. Damn, this really is Homura’s idea of helping the non-MGs, isn’t it? I can see the twisted logic; if the consequence is death, then almost any means can be used to drive the civilians away from the risks. Wait what. “If reasoning with a fool won’t work, I will turn to more drastic measures.” Wait no. Don’t do that. Please don’t do that. And now she’s walking away while Madoka can only kneel next to the unconscious body of her friend and ask “Why?” Kyubey mentions that it’s certain that she’s planning something. Time to be extra careful. Kyubey? Kyubey, what are you thinking? Do you suspect something about Homura? Care to enlighten us? ... Well that was something. So now we’ve seen Homura actually fight, even if it was against a weakened and inexperienced MG, and I have to say I was impressed. And I can remember her taking down the Dessert Witch, makes sense that instead of it simply missing she was flash-stepping out of the way. That’s a cool power! But what’s disconcerting is that Homura seems to be reaching the end of her patience. From her perspective she’s been warning our characters about the risks, but they keep ignoring her and stumbling forward. Add in that they are interfering with her plan to get what I can now understand as a Super Battery… I don’t think I want to see what she considers to be ‘drastic measures’.
We’re at Sayaka’s place now, going by the ‘Miki’ sign. Looks like she’s recovered from Homura-induced nap and is recharging her Soul Gem. Although is that really the best way to describe it? I mean, the animation is of some sort of black cloud being absorbed by the Grief Seed leaving the Soul Gem all nice and shiny. I don’t know, best explanation I can think of is that it’s supposed to be recycling the energy or whatever. Or actually, maybe it’s more like a lung? Oxygen-depleted cells leave, so oxygen-enriched cells can enter? I don’t know, someone tell me the mechanics of how these gems work, I want to know. Sayaka comments that the Grief Seed looks pitch black now. And Kyubey says that it’s dangerous, too? OH SHIT. “If it absorbs any more impurity, a witch could hatch from it.” SO I THINK I UNDERSTAND SOUL GEM MECHANICS NOW. *Deep breath* Ok, so I’m picturing a Soul Gem as a magic container, for the sake of simplicity I’ll think of ‘magic’ existing in little packets of energy (oxygen-enriched red blood cell). Soul Gem holds this magic, as the MG uses her power the packets are emptied, still existing in the Soul Gem but taking up space (oxygen-depleted red blood cell). With a Grief Seed, the MG can take their depleted magic packets and put it in the Seed, and the Soul Gem is filled with fresh magic packets. But if the packets aren’t completely drained (I assume there’s just enough magic to make the transfer happen), then the Grief Seed is gaining magic where there was previously just empty ‘space’. And if they get enough, a Witch hatches? That’s actually a pretty ingenious system, story-wise. Regardless of where Witches first came from, I actually haven’t seen that many Witches in the show, and they would have to be fairly scarce if MG’s have to compete over them as batteries. But if in the process of fighting Witches the MGs actually cause Witches to hatch again, then the cycle is much more sustainable. Although that still leaves Sayaka with a dangerously-close-to-hatching Grief Seed in her room. Can she take it out of town or something? Or Kyubey can do it for her? … Well. Don’t I feel foolish now. I get all in a fuss about ‘dur I can understand the cycle, it makes sense now’, and then Kyubey goes and eats the Seed. Ok, new theory: Kyubey’s species (are there more of him? We haven’t seen any) somehow through contrivances evolved to feed off of Witches. But come on, we’ve seen absolutely no combat skills from the Rabbit-Thing, the idea that he could fight those monsters is insane. So they recruited Magical Girls to do the hunting for them? I dunno, I know nothing about Kyubey’s species so I’m just guessing wildly. I’ll accept it as part of the story, hope that it gets explained later, and move on. Well, now that Kyubey just ate the magic battery, they should probably get another to replace it. After all, Kyoko was pretty powerful. But if they could get ahold of some extra Grief Seeds, then Sayaka could really let loose and maybe overpower the more experienced Magical Girl in a fight. Sayaka raises a good point, that Grief Seeds mean that a familiar has killed enough people to become a Witch, even if that’s Kyoko’s key to success. Huh, the characters keep describing the recharging process as “cleaning”, and Kyubey says that the more magic Sayaka uses the more polluted her Soul Gem will become. So is the process like chemical buildup in a battery, the emptied magic packets interfere with magic usage? In any case, Sayaka has been decisively shown to be weaker than Kyoko. So the name of the game is “Get more Grief Seeds for the inevitable rematch”! Something tells me that Homura isn’t going to be in favor of this plan. But Mami didn’t stockpile Grief Seeds, did she? And she could blast away all day long. Pfft! “Was she just more talented than me?” “Well, there’s certainly that.” Tact, Kyubey. Learn to use it. Sayaka may be able to fight Witches like the one that caught Madoka and Familars like Crayon Kid from last episode, but she’s feuding with a girl who apparently has both inborn talent and much more experience as a Magical Girl. But there’s someone else with no experience, who’s natural talent would be greater than Food Girl’s? Ah, Madoka. You know, it’s funny. I know that the show is named after her and all, but it’s getting harder and harder to think about Madoka as the Protagonist. Kyubey keeps building up that if she would just Contract and make a Wish (bring Mami back) then her Protagonist Powers could solve whatever problem they’re looking at. I’m starting to get worried that when she eventually does Contract (I said it’s getting harder to place her as the Protagonist, not impossible) that it won’t live up to the hype. But we’re only halfway through the show, so I guess there’s still time. Oh, wow. For all that Kyubey looks like a cute little MG show mascot, I’m starting to see that he has quite a manipulative streak in him. Early on he kept trying to get the girls to Contract, left when they got scared but apparently still stuck around for when Sayaka changed her mind, and called in an outside MG not long after Mami left. And now he’s telling the “Ally of Justice” that if she can’t beat her enemy, then she could always ask her too-kind friend to do it in her place? Huh. This show is doing an excellent job of giving characters multiple motivations. Homura seems to be trying to protect non-MGs while still growing her power, Sayaka became an “Ally of Justice” to heal Kamijo with an unfortunate intent of earning his gratitude, and now the show’s mascot is recruiting girls to both Fight the Good Fight and to get a food supply. I don’t think I expected anything this complex in terms of characterization when I started this show. Yeah, Kyubey is definitely interested in Madoka becoming another Lunch Lady, I mean Magical Girl. Sayaka refuses, says that it is her fight, she won’t let her get dragged into it. Props for spirit, Sayaka, but you kinda got trounced that last time. The next day… Food Girl! Apparently eating pocky (in defiance of the No Food sign, you rebel you) and playing a DDR arcade machine. Don’t think I didn’t notice the theme music there, show. Homura? Didn’t expect you to check out a place like this, what’s your business with Kyoko? If you’re going to fight, could you maybe move away from all the electronics? Kyoko asks what the Mysterious Transfer Student wants. Homura says- ...I’m sorry, could you repeat that? “I want to put this city in your charge.” Aw. Aw no. This is ‘drastic measures’, isn’t it? Kyoko want’s to know why the change, Homura says that it’s girls like her that are most suited to be MGs. Damn, you really don’t have much faith in Sayaka, do you? To choose the person who is on record for wanting people to die for a guaranteed Grief Seed, rather than the “Ally of Justice”. Uh, random cat in the game? That was odd. Oh! “Settled as peaceably as possible”? Ok good, you still are showing some restraint, Homura. I was getting worried you were planning a hit on the girl. She wants Kyoko to stay out of it, while she handles it herself. Um. Maybe I spoke too soon, Homura has a pretty broad definition of “peaceful”. Food Girl raises a good point: what’s in all this for Homura? I mean, if this plan to “peacefully” remove Sayaka from the territory works out then Kyoko would get the territory, and Homura would lose the ability to get new Grief Seeds. Or is she planning to take out Kyoko once all this is over? “Two weeks from now, “Walpurgisnact” will descend upon this city.” Wally-watsit? I think that might be German, but I don’t want to look up translations in case I get spoiled. Can anyone fill me in on the meaning? Huh, Kyoko’s still dancing but she’s looking a lot more serious now, asks how Homura knows that. MST refuses to say, gotta stay mysterious! But she seems to be recruiting Kyoko to defeat it, in exchange for her leaving the city to Kyoko. Defeat it? Coming in two weeks? Could it be…. Is Walpurgisnact the Giant Flying Thing from the vision? Kyoko’s saying that it would be pretty tough for Homura to beat it by herself, but if they work together they could probably win. Ok, so let me lay this out: -The thing is called ‘Walpurgisnact’ -It is coming in two weeks -Homura knows this but refuses to reveal sources -It’s too tough for a single MG to face alone -In return for aid in fighting it, Homura will leave the city to Kyoko Add it all together and what do we get? Wally-watsit is probably a Witch, notable for being the only in-show named Witch I’ve seen so far (assuming we aren’t supposed to be able to read the title card runes just yet to know the previous names). This Witch having a name indicates that MGs have faced it before, and either lost or it put up a big enough fight that it’s commonly known by experienced MGs. To paraphrase Space Batman: "When the magical girls name a Witch, you know you're in trouble. They don't think anyone is going to kill it.") If Familiars are pseudo-Witches that don’t drop Grief Seeds and Witches do drop the magic batteries, then a Super Witch like Wally is shaping up to be could have a proportionately more powerful Grief Seed. In other words, my theory was right! Homura is after a Super Battery. Guessing that she knows the exact date of the arrival because her ‘secret sources’ are just that that’s the time she will summon it, in order to try and get the Super Grief Seed. And heck, if she’s strong relative to Kyoko without it, then with the SGS she could probably win, no problem. All she has to do is keep her distracted until she can grab it. Like say, promising her the prime territory of Anime City? Or maybe she is legit, won’t need the territory when she has the SGS. Woo! Alright, good feeling to have a theory validated in this show, instead of getting wrecked once Kyubey has a snack. Kyoko finishes her game with a flourish and offers Homura some pocky. Given that she’s been shown eating practically-nonstop this entire time, I’m taking this as a sign of trust and agreement. Houston, we have plot! Homura is confirmed to be going after the Super Grief Seed, Kyoko's been promised the city but I can’t imagine she’ll just pass on the SGS when she realizes that’s what it’s all about, and Sayaka’s looking for a leg-up to face off against Food Girl after their first fight. Now I’m picturing that our two teams (Homura and Kyoko of ‘Team Antagonist’ and Sayaka and Madoka of ‘Team Protagonist’) are going to be in a race to prepare for and try for the SGS. Things are going to get interesting! Or maybe my predictions get completely jossed a few minutes later in the show. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised.
We open in the alleyway where they fought earlier, the walls have huge gashes in them and the ground is all smashed up. I wonder what whoever owns/maintains the alleyway will think caused all the damage. Madoka walks up as Kyubey reports that too much time has passed, they can’t track the Familiar that Kyoko let get away. Madoka pipes up, asks if they won’t run into Food Girl again if Sayaka keeps hunting Witches like this. Given the likelihood, maybe she could seek out Kyoko and try talking first? ...Madoka, I love you and all, but you did see the fight last night, right? I think that they’re a little past the talking stage. “‘Fighting’, you say?” Oh dear. Sayaka has to break it to our All-Loving main character that last night was a fight to the death. After the first few blows, that Kyoko intended to put Sayaka in the hospital with, they were really trying to off the other. These are still middle-school girls, right? And now the show’s reached the point that our main character’s best friend was really trying to kill another girl? “Ally of Justice”, remember Sayaka? I want to say “don’t let other Magical Girls drag you to their level. You’re better than this.” But Kyoko, the girl willing to let people become Witch Food for Grief Seeds, was really trying to kill Sayaka. You can’t really reason with that. Yeah, you’re reeeealy reaching there, Madoka. You want Friendship to happen, but you’re asking your “Ally of Justice” friend to work with someone with a different “method”. I can admire your idealism, but it’s not matching up to reality. Please stop, Madoka. You mean well, but now you’ve brought up Homura. After her association with Mami’s death and her knocking out Sayaka, she really doesn’t have the best reputation to your friend. Yeah, Sayaka’s pointing out how she didn’t show up until after Mami died. ...wait, you do know Mami tied her up first, right? You weren’t there, but didn’t Madoka tell you what happened? Madoka, please speak up. You need to tell Sayaka what happened, she’s making some bad connections right now. I mean sure, we know that they’re working together, and they both value Grief Seeds, but Homura is shaping up as a lite version of Kyoko now. Homura wouldn’t let people die just so she can get Grief Seeds… right? What the hell is happening, I’m trying to defend the girl whose first action in the show was to threaten Madoka’s family. For good reasons, but still- See?! I’m trying to justify even that now! Well done Urobuchi, you’ve made Homura my new Zuko. Aw jeez, Sayaka’s really going to a dark place here. “Mami was the one exception”? Sure, out of the very, very few Magical Girls you have met so far. You can’t just lump everyone else in with two bad apples, they could be good. Jebus, Sayaka! I understand you’re trying to make a point, but now you’re dragging Madoka’s family into it! Her Dad, Mom, little Tatsuya… “Could you forgive those who stood by and let them get killed?” Please, Sayaka, Madoka is our All-Loving character, please don’t break her. Argh, Sayaka keeps turning my words against me. She wanted the strength to protect those she loved, but now she’s seeing enemies pop up everywhere. Protecting others is a noble goal, but I’m worried that she’s going to pull a Homura, and start using sketchier and sketchier ends to reach it. I mean, protecting others is Good, right? So how could someone striving for that goal be anything but Good? But- Argh. Sayaka, please. I am begging you. Don’t lose sight of who you are. Damn it! Sayaka’s sworn to fight “humans who are worse than Witches”. This is not a good pattern, Sayaka. First it was Witches, to protect human lives. But now you’re targeting humans who you think are “worse than Witches”. Can’t you see how this contradicts itself? See what you’ve done, Sayaka? You’ve made Madoka cry. I hope you feel good about yourself. Sayaka’s walked away, Madoka pleads for Kyubey to say something, anything. All he can say is that she’s being too reckless. (“I mean, if she keeps this up then I’ll be down a Magical Lunch Lady!”) Right now she has no hope of facing either of the two Magical Girls, not that she’d ever admit it to Madoka. Later that night, Madoka’s sleeping when a door opens downstairs. Mother coming back from another work bender? Up, she’s downstairs taking a drink of something that I suspect is not water. Madoka comes down, asks if they can talk. With a glass of something that I hope is not alcoholic, she starts talking about how one of her friends is in a lot of trouble. Madoka doesn’t think what she’s doing or saying is wrong, but… yeah, ‘but’. She keeps trying to do right, to do Good, but things keep getting worse. Mother admits that that happens a lot, just because your intentions are Good doesn’t mean you get a happy ending. And you can get so sure that your way is right that you refuse to listen to anything else. All matching Sayaka for a tee so far, she’s turning into quite the paladin, isn’t she? This is a pretty big life lesson for anyone to hear, especially innocent little Madoka, but it’s one that has to happen. It’s hard to accept that not everything can be resolved with a neat and tidy end, without harming anyone. But given the alternative… I mean, we’re already planning to use the Wish to bring Mami back, I don’t know if it can bring back two. “Then you should make a mistake for her.” Huh, that’s an interesting way to think about it. “If you can see there’s no way for your friend’s problem to end in but disaster, it’s be better for her to crash and burn sooner rather than later.” Sayaka will sure as hell not appreciate it at first, but it really is for the best. Better to do this than to give up on her and watch her lose. Madoka really is a good girl, isn’t she? She’s been a good kid. But now she may need to grow up, learn how to make mistakes and keep going. Aw. I can understand it, but I really don’t want Madoka to ‘grow up’. I don’t want this show to be about her losing her ideals, to survive in the greater world. I can understand it, but I don’t like it. Heh, Mother really is a good mom, isn’t she? She doesn’t talk down to Madoka, but gives her the best explanation she can. (I mean, she doesn’t know how serious Madoka’s situation is, but it’s still good advice). And she softens the lesson about how adults are always suffering from their mistakes, but hey, they get to drink alcohol! You go, Alcoholic Protagonist Mom. Bleh, that was a heavy conversation. I am growing increasingly worried from Sayaka’s aggressive attitude toward Magical Girling, and worried that Madoka is going to start suffering some real-world character growth. Hopefully she can head off Sayaka’s path without compromising herself too much.
Sayaka’s walking up to a large door, is about to knock when a violin starts up. Oh, visiting Kamijo outside of the hospital? Probably best not to interrupt practice, so GAH sudden drum noise and Kyoko watching her, eating a churro(?) menacingly. And I mean that in all seriousness, it is terrifying to see that Kyoko was apparently tracking Sayaka. If she hadn’t promised Homura to back off... Food Girl taunts Sayaka about leaving without seeing Kamijo, after she apparently spent all day following him. Um. And oh crap she’s saying she knows Sayaka is pining after the “little rich boy who lives here”. Talk about a hot-button issue of Sayaka’s. I can see Kyoko’s excuse now: “Oh, I was just trying to talk to the new girl, and she blew up over some small comment I made and attacked. I had to defend myself!” *chomp* Now she’s insulting Sayaka for using her Wish on Kamijo. “Magic is only supposed to be used to grant wishes for yourself. If you use it for somebody else, it always ends up going bad.” Well, I get Mami’s warning about the consequences of a Wish, but we’ve only seen hers and Sayaka’s so far, no idea what Homura or Kyoko Wished for. Oh no, you don’t get to name-drop Mami, you red-headed jerk! WOW. Ok, so Kyoko just advised Sayaka that if she wants Kamijo that badly, she should just bust in and go all Annie Wilkes on his limbs, so he can’t do anything without her. Sayaka does not approve, so then Kyoko offers to bust him up for her, “as a favor”. I have to admit that that’s some pretty skillful threatening, up there with the hallway from Ep 1. Yup, that’s pushed Sayaka over the edge, she’s challenging Kyoko again. Gah, you are getting played like a violin here, Sayaka. Kyoko says they should go somewhere less visible. Madoka’s back at her house typing on what looks like a holographic keyboard (I want this future tech!) for some English homework, as she thinks about Mother’s advice. Suddenly, Kyubey! “Hey Madoka, one of my meal tickets is in trouble, you’ve got to come quick!” So apparently a lit bridge over a busy highway is what Kyoko thinks as ‘less visible’. We get to see Kyoko’s transformation sequence, and Sayaka’s getting ready to follow suit when Madoka and Kyubey come running up. Sayaka says that they should get out of the way while Madoka pleads for her to stop. Hey, how dare you call Madoka an annoying friend! WHOA WHAT THE HELL Ok, that was seriously creepy. I paused as Kyoko was calling Madoka annoying (grr), hit play and then suddenly the next frame Homura is standing right behind Sayaka, it’s paused again as she’s dissing Kyoko (probably annoyed that Kyoko tried to go behind Homura’s back to remove Sayaka), Food Girl hasn’t even noticed she’s there yet. Hah, serves you right, Kyoko. Homura reminds Kyoko that this fight wasn’t what they agreed on. Kyoko tries to claim that Sayaka isn’t backing down, Homura flash-steps behind Kyoko again and… uh oh. As amusing as it is for Homura to be using the power of flash-steps to keep Kyoko off balance, she just said that she’d take on Sayaka herself. Well crud. At least she probably won’t kill Sayaka? Kyoko says she’ll give Homura until she finishes her pocky, Homura says that’s all she needs. Sadly she’s probably right. Sayaka does not approve of this condescension and prepares to fight the Mysterious Transfer Student. Madoka’s rushing forward? Holy crap! I’m psychic! Tephi asked me for predictions, and I guessed that Madoka would steal Sayaka’s Soul Gem and give it to Homura to prevent a fight! And what just happened? Madoka stole Sayaka’s Soul Gem! Maybe it’s a mistake to give it to the MST, but it’s better than a fight. Oooor instead of giving it to Homura, she’ll throw it off the bridge… well, that works too? So is the Soul Gem going to get crushed by a car, or… nope, landed on top of a truck. I don’t think that Sayaka can transform without it, so that fixes things. Although it might make getting her back to power for the finale a bit difficult. Wow, Homura looked surprised and just flash-stepped away. The animators must have had a field day when they realized that they could represent Homura’s power by just not drawing her from one frame to another. It’s a neat effect. And now I guess she’ll go and get the Soul Gem. Cool, one of my theories are actually holding up for once! Yeah, Sayaka is pissed right now. But it’s for the best Wait Wait what Why did Sayaka just slump down? Why are her eyes blank? “No matter how mad you are, shouldn’t throw your own friend away like that.” ...’s Soul Gem? Translation error? ...what do you mean, “She’s dead”? Did...what… Homura’s flash-stepping after the truck with Sayaka’s Soul Gem… Soul Gem… WHAT “It’s because the furthest you magical girls can control your bodies would be within about a 100 meter radius.” Is this really happening. “Madoka, that isn’t Sayaka. It’s just an empty shell.” This is really happening. “Sayaka is what you just threw away a moment ago.” Kyoko is clutching her own… Soul Gem… in shock. Did… did she not know? Homura’s caught up with the truck carrying Sayaka’s… So. You’re telling me that a Soul Gem isn’t some fancifully-named piece of Magical Girl gear like a Star Power Stick or Moon Prism Tiara or whatever, but a literal translation? “Did you really think you could fight witches with the same fragile bodies that humans possess?” Homura is now on the truck. “For magical girls, those so-called ‘bodies’ that you possess are really just exterior hardware.” Close up of the small ornate blue crystal as Homura picks it up. “Your real bodies are your souls, and in order to make them able to use magic more efficiently, we put them in these compact, easy-to-protect forms instead.” Homura is holding Sayaka’s Soul Gem, just looking at it. “To complete the contract to become a magical girl, what I do is rip your souls out of your bodies and turn them into Soul Gems.” I… Kyoko is royally pissed right now. She really didn’t know? Except for Homura for some reason, nobody knew? Kyubey knew he was turning these girls into...into… ...into LICHS and he didn’t even tell them?! WHAT. THE. FUCK. Homura? You can sit in the fluffy armchair. Kyoko? You can have Homura’s old seat. Kyubey? Congrats, you are officially Number One on The List. Kyoko has grabbed Kyubey by the ear and is yelling at him about turning them into zombies. Apparently she hasn’t played D&D before, they are by any definition I know of lichs. I am watching a show where the teenage girl characters are undead magic users who have their souls contained in small external objects. What the fuck. And… all Kyubey can say is “But isn’t it handy this way?” “Even if your body’s heart gets crushed, or you bleed out your very last drop of blood, you can just heal your bodies with magic and get right back up!” Wait, but… how did Mami die then? If they are… lichs… then she should have been able to recover from even a head attack! “So long as your Soul Gem remains unharmed, you’re basically invincible!” Wait… she wore her Soul Gem as a hairpin, didn’t she? Oh mother fracker. Mami didn’t know. Kyubey didn’t tell her either?! So she took no extra care to keep what she (and I) thought was just a magic channeling tool safe from harm, and then chomp, and… “Isn’t that a lot better for battle than those breakable human bodies?” ...Kyubey really isn’t human, isn’t he? Or whatever word better describes “not of our moral understanding”. He’s just listing off the advantages of being a lich, even as Madoka says that it’s too horrible for words. “You humans always react this way. Whenever I try to tell you the simple facts, you inevitably have the same reaction. I just don’t get it.” STOP SMILING. “Why are humans so touchy about the placement of their souls?” Kill him, Kyoko. Kill him, Kyoko. Wait. The Soul Gem’s back! Homura just put it in Sayaka’s… in the hand of Sayaka’s body. She’s breathing! Sayaka’s back! And she can’t remember what happened? “What is it?” *End Credits* Son. Of. A. Bitch! ...where do I begin? So Soul Gems are actually containers for the literal souls of Magical Girls. No, actually before even that. Souls are a proven thing in this setting, given how Kyubey can apparently tear them out and stuff them into jewelry. Which implies an afterlife… Magical Girls channel magic through their actual souls. Is that in any way healthy? They clean their Gems using Grief Seeds from Witches. In what setting ever has using parts of monsters in any proximity to your soul end well? Although this one does work in reverse of the normal pattern… Kyubey knew. Homura knows, but Mami, Kyoko, and Sayaka didn’t. Kyubey didn’t think it worth mentioning that the Contract would tear their souls from their bodies. Magical Girls control their former bodies like meat puppets, and they can heal any damage so long as they presumably have magic and an intact Soul Gem. Does that extend to gradual damage, like wear from lack of food or sleep or aging? Can Magical Girls change their own bodies, stay looking younger? I- HOLY SHIT It makes sense now. I actually understand Homura. You take a Magical Girl. She starts killing Witches, maybe even makes a few friends of both MGs and non-MGs. But the other MGs die from Witches, and the Magical Girl who can control her aging will outlive her non-MG friends. She starts moving from place to place to avoid connections and get fresh territory, just focusing on getting Grief Seeds to maintain her magic. She needs a cover story to explain why she travels. Class, I would like you to meet Ms. Homura Akemi the Mysterious Transfer Student. … Did this show seriously create the sort of undead character that Stephanie Myers should have written, instead of the Clan of the Sparkles? ... After Credits Scene: An illustration of the four Magical Girls we’ve seen so far. Their bodies are completely dark, the only color is their heads and their small Soul Gems. Mind and Soul… Kyubey is talking: “Before you took on this destiny of battling Witches, wasn’t there a wish you wanted granted? That wish has really come true, hasn’t it?” SHUT UP. Next Episode: “Episode 7: Can you face your true feelings?”
