Pokémon Horizons - The Sudden Turn (Part 6)
Characters: Amethio, Liko, Friede, Roy, Molly, Orla, Murdock, Spinel, Gibeon, Zir, Conia
Pokémon: Sprigatito, Hattena, Cap, Charizard, Ceruledge, Corviknight, Umbreon, Skarmory
The Brave Asagi now headed north of Paldea, exactly where Friede and Cap had previously sighted the Explorers' base. After they had finally crossed a wall of dense clouds, it was now clearly visible. About 20 meters in front of them was a large building, which stood elevated on a mossy mountain.
In terms of appearance, it almost looked like a knight's castle, but without the typical towers. Nevertheless, you could immediately tell, that it definitely belonged to a large organization of villains, because at the very top of the roof there was a huge blue, white and black logo, that looked like an 'E' and was illuminated on the outer edge.
After the airship was parked in a safe location, Friede, Liko, Amethio and Roy buried themselves off board, while the others remained there.
"Please promise, that you guys will be careful." Orla said. "And also let us know, if you get into trouble." Molly then added as well.
"We will, you can count on it." Friede assured the two and now looked at the three children. Well, realistically speaking, Amethio was no longer a real 'child', but the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers still felt responsible for him too, aside from Liko and Roy. "Are you all ready?" he asked one last time.
All three looked at each other briefly before Liko finally spoke up: "Yes, we are ready." she said firmly. Sprigatito agreed with its Trainer. "Nyaohja."
Friede nodded one last time. "Okay, then let's get started now. Just remember to stay together." he said and now led the way, as a leader should, while Amethio, Liko and Roy simply just followed him.
~~~
After a few meters of walking, the 4 of them arrived at the bottom of the mountain, at the top of which was the Explorers' base.
"So... what happens next? I don't see a really ideal way, to get up there without support." Liko said, scratching her chin thoughtfully.
Now Amethio intervened. Logical, because after all he knew best about the Explorers. Well, at least almost. "I have an idea. Why don't we just use Corviknight and Charizard? At least that way Friede and I have an option, while one of us then just simply carries Liko and the other Roy. In theory, this is the best way we can get there." he then made a suggestion.
"He's not entirely wrong. That would at least be an uncomplicated method." Liko said, following the 16-year-old's suggestion.
Friede seemed to think about this for a moment, but then finally agreed. "Okay. Then we'll do it like that." he replied and took Charizard's Pokéball out of his jacket pocket, whereupon Amethio did the same with Corviknights ball and both of them called out their Pokémon at the same time.
Both of them directly climbed up their backs and Amethio took Liko in front of him again on Corviknight, while Friede took a seat on Charizard and then instructed his partner, to carefully take Roy between its claws.
"Good, then let's go." Friede said and already took off. Amethio did the same after making sure, that Liko was sitting safely in front of him and that she couldn't fall down. After about 5 minutes they reached the top of the mountain and the Pokémon were called straight back into their balls, while the quartet hid behind some small rocks, so that they wouldn't be noticed hopefully.
"Alright, then we've managed that. Now the only question left is, how we're supposed to get in there unnoticed. All entrances are strictly guarded." Roy said, as he briefly inspected the situation.
"Not all of them." Amethio spoke up, once again. "In fact, there are two secret entrances, that only the most experienced Admins know about. If we have any really top secret meetings, every member has to go through one of these entrances, to really make sure, that no one unauthorized can gain access." he explained now.
"In the name of Arceus, Amethio!! You are a genius!!! I could give you a cuddle right now!" Friede said in an almost childish voice and grinned broadly at the black and silver-haired, whereupon he grimaced slightly in disgust. "Not necessary, thank you very much."
"Could we perhaps postpone that to later and just concentrate, on getting into this building?" Liko was slowly losing patience. "Show us these secret entrances, Amethio." she said now, turning to the teen.
The black and silver-haired just nodded and briefly peeked out from behind the rock, to make sure, that really none of the guards was watching them.
"Very good, the coast is clear. Just follow me." With these words, the teenager walked forward, always in a crouched position, followed by Friede, Liko and of course Roy simply mimicking his movements, while meandering between some trees and rocks, to avoid, getting noticed by the guards.
~~~
So the quartet crept unseen past the countless guards, until they had all made an almost complete circle around the building and finally arrived at the back, where they could see a place, that initially seemed quite inconspicuous at first sight.
"Okay... And where is this secret entrance supposed to be now?" "You'll see that in a moment." Amethio answered Liko's question and took a step forward. Then he pushed aside a few low-hanging branches and some moss, so that a door appeared behind it, which was almost barely visible hidden inside the wall. "It's right here." the teen said afterwards and then pushed the stone in the middle a little inwards, which triggered a mechanism, so that the door slowly opened.
Roy, Friede and Liko all widened their eyes. "Impressive..." was all Friede brought out of his mouth.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. We can rave about it later, now let's finally go in there." Liko said, who was becoming more and more impatient with every second.
Amethio nodded, but still had a serious face on. "Okay, then let's do it. But I have to remind you, that Spinel is not to be trifled with. In any case, always stay close behind me, do you understand?" he said and looked at everyone intently again.
"Understood. And if something does happen, I'll be there as well." Friede said, positioning himself briefly next to Amethio.
With that, all three finally slowly went inside the building. The two children actually felt a bit uneasy, while wandering trough the dark hallway. "Well I have to get one thing off my chest, everything here is a bit scary to me." Liko uttered and even Hattena trembled slightly in her hood as well.
"Don't worry, we're with you." Friede said and briefly gave his two protégés a reassuring look.
Liko took a quick deep breath, but she still called Sprigatito back into its Pokéball just in case. After a while, all 4 finally arrived in another hallway. Roy was about to continue walking, when he was suddenly stopped by Amethio's hand on his shoulder. "Wait! Don't go any further! Someone is coming." he hissed in a whisper and looked around the corner for a moment. Then he suddenly saw a face, that was all too familiar to him. Because Spinel was standing at the other end of the corridor and seemed to be talking to Zir and Conia. 'Shit... What is he planning this time now?'
He observed the situation for a while before turning back to the other three. "Ok, let's go over the plan one more time. Liko and I will try to distract Spinel for as long, as possible. In the meantime, you, Friede and Roy, will go down the aisle to the right, then left again and then straight ahead. This way you should be able, to sneak up on Spinel without him noticing." he explained, how to proceed and quickly had Friede save his contact in his Rotom Phone.
"Got it, understood. Let's go then, Roy." the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers said and walked with the boy in the corresponding direction.
~~~
After they both were out of sight, the teenager now turned his attention back to Liko again. "Give me your pendant." he demanded her in a calm tone. "Excuse me, I should do what?" Amethio hissed quietly. "Don't ask, just do it. Trust me, this is all part of my plan." he assured her. "And you do trust me now, don't you?"
"Yes, of course I do, I never said, I wouldn't! It's just..." Liko kinda had her doubts, but... Amethio was actually right. After all, she had said something similar to him before. If he could trust her, then she simply should just trust him as well.
After a short while of hesitation, the girl finally gave in. "Okay, fine." she said and now took off her pendant, which Liko then placed right in Amethio's open hand. "I just hope, you know, what you're doing." she added anyway, because she still wasn't completely convinced. However, it was always worth a try, even if it shouldn't work out in the end.
The black and silver-haired just nodded slightly and let the pendant disappear into his pocket for now. Then he put his arm around Liko, so that it would look like, he had captured her and slowly walked with her in Spinel's direction.
When he turned around, shortly after he heard someone's footsteps, he was indeed very surprised, when he suddenly saw Amethio coming towards him with the girl in tow. "Well look, who do we have here? Looks like, you're not completely useless after all." he said and still had his mischievous smile on.
However, Amethio wasn't very impressed by this, so instead put on his monotone, natural face again. "Apparently, I'm more capable of carrying out a mission more flawlessly, than you first thought." he said with pretending triumph and then carefully pushed Liko forward a little, so that she still hit the ground unharmed.
She made a pretend sound of pain. "Try what you want, but I will never hand over my pendant to you, so it's best, to forget about it right away again, you idiots!!" she growled. "Plus, I don't have it with me right now anyway, so no matter, how much you would try, to get something out of me, it's not gonna work, so you have no use for me either way." she added, while briefly glancing sideways at Amethio, who just threw her an encouraging look, wich Spinel luckily didn't seem to notice.
"Well, looks like, you found your way here after all. I'm really impressed by that." he said in a slightly diabolical tone and knelt in front of her. "One thing has to be said thow, you're not exactly that kind of a person, who's extremely easy to crack. I noticed that two days ago, when you so strictly refused, to hand over your pendant." he said and turned his face even more towards her, whereupon she backed away slightly in fear, but she still remained steadfast.
"But it looks like, you're not as strong, as I had originally expected." the green-haired said with a slight grin and then, to Amethio's relief, walked away from Liko again. "Be that as it may, it was clear to me from the start, that you wouldn't cooperate so easily." Spinel then added with an undertone, that was extremely strange, even for Amethio's liking, which made the teenager and the girl feel a little uneasy in their stomachs.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, the black and silver-haired noticed Roy and Friede slowly trying, to sneak up on Spinel from behind. However, he seemed to have just been waiting for it, because he suddenly snapped his finger and the two Rising Volt Tacklers suddenly fell unconscious, whereupon both Liko and Amethio widened their eyes in shock.
"Roy, Friede!" Liko called out and instinctively wanted to run over to her two friends, but then Spinel grabbed the unsuspecting girl tightly in his arms. "Oh no, you won't do that!" he said, smiling triumphantly.
Amethio gritted his teeth, while now stepping forward as well and throwing a death glare at his rival. "Let her go, you bastard!!" he growled, Ceruledge's Pokéball already firmly in his hand.
However, Spinel didn't seem to be particularly care about this in the slightest. "I'd rather not do that, if I were you." he said as he snapped his fingers once again and before Amethio could react any further, he was surrounded by dozens of guards. "I know, you have the pendant with you, Amethio!! Hand it over or I'll do even worse to your sweet and precious little girlfriend here, than I already have." Spinel now said in a more serious tone and it really seemed like, he now wasn't messing around anymore at all.
This only made the black and silver-haired even angrier, than he already was. There was even a slight frown line on his forehead now. "Tch... You little... You wouldn't dare, to even lay a finger on her! And just, that we understand each other correctly, she's not my girlfriend!" Amethio hissed angrily, while looking forth and back between Liko and his rival.
Spinel just shrugged. "But I'm afraid, I've already done that. And apart from that... Why are you suddenly concerned about her well-being? Could it be, that you taken a liking to the little one?" he asked teasingly and it was immediately clear, that he was trying, to provoke the teen again.
However, this time this attempt clearly failed, as the 16-year-old didn't make a single change of his facial expression once. "I know what you're trying to do, but unfortunately it won't work on me anymore! I won't repeat myself a second time... Let. Liko. Go. Now!!"
"I'm really extremely sorry, but that won't happen anymore, you've already lost your chance!" his counterpart replied and suddenly took Liko in a headlock, causing her to gasp in shock. "The pendant, immediately!! It's entirely up to you, Amethio!! So you better decide quickly, otherwise..." he said threatening and demonstratively increased the pressure on Liko's neck, which increasingly made it even more difficult for her to breathe.
~~~
After a few minutes had already passed, Liko's eyelids gradually became heavier from second to second, she wouldn't last much longer, Amethio also noticed that. 'Damn it, what am I supposed to do?! I can't let him do anything worse to her!! Think, Amethio, think!!' he heard his mind talking to him after quite a while again, while keeping his focus still on the fearfull Liko, who was still being held tightly in his rivals grasp.
"Sorry to say this, but your time is almost up. So tick-tock, Amethio! You better want to decide right now!" Spinel said again with a provocative tone.
He then increased the pressure on Liko's neck once more, whereupon the teenager finally gave in. The risk, that Liko would suffer even more damage from his rival, just because of him, was simply far too high. "Wait!! You won... I... You'll get the pendant. Just please... let Liko go." he said resignedly, but still begging and briefly slipped his hand into the pocket of his trousers, from which the 16-year-old took out the object in question shortly afterwards and held it up demonstratively for his counterpart clearly to see. "Look, that's what you want, isn't it?"
Spinel then grinned triumphantly, but still slyly. "I see, we understand each other after all. Why not like that from the start? Throw it over." he demanded and tapped his left foot up and down waiting.
Amethio still hesitated one last time, but then did what his rival asked of him and threw the pendant over, whereupon the green-haired caught it with ease. "There you go, you should just always do exactly, what is asked of you, then there won't be any problems." he said and gave a short, spiteful laugh.
Then he finally let go of Liko, who collapsed weakly to the ground and shortly afterwards instinctively grabbed her neck while coughing. Of course, Amethio immediately rushed to her side and directly pulled the young girl away from his rival, wrapping his arms tightly around her. "Are you alright, Liko, he didn't hurt you further, did he?!" he asked worriedly and let his eyes scan over her briefly, looking for further possible injuries. Fortunately, no others seemed to be visible at first glance.
Liko was a bit surprised by his reaction, but didn't say anything against it at first. Instead, she only gave a weak nod in response to his question about whether his rival had hurt her even more. "Luckily not, thanks to you. But it still hurts a little." she replied, while rubbing her neck a bit, which was a little red, probably caused by the enormous pressure, that Spinel had put on it earlier.
This statement made the black and silver- haired teen breathe a sigh of relief. "Thank God... I'm really glad, you're okay." he said and pulled away from her again.
"I really don't want to bother you two lovebirds, but unfortunately I don't have much time forever. Lock them up!" Spinel now gave the order and a few guards took the troop through a door and then down into a large room, which was obviously some kind of dungeon. There were spider webs everywhere and it generally made a very uncomfortable impression around it to express carefully.
So everyone was more or less 'thrown' into a cell and the door was immediately locked. After the guards had left, Amethio's rival came into view again. "You'll stay down here for a while, but don't make yourself too comfortable." he said coldly and turned to Amethio again for now.
"And as for you, Amethio... I'm very curious to hear, what Master Gibeon will think of your betrayal or should I say... your dear father?" he laughed spitefully again and then turned on his heel. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have important things to do. See you!” With that the green-haired man also disappeared, leaving all 4 behind.
~~~
After everyone was alone, there was pure silence at first, in which none of them spoke a single word.
"It's over... We failed... This is all my fault." Liko slumped her shoulders and leaned desperately against a wall. Amethio, who was sitting right next to her, sighed briefly and carefully stroked her shoulder in a reassuring manner, which the young Trainer allowed much to his surprise.
"It's not your fault, Liko. We simply couldn't predict, that the plan would actually go this wrong." he tried his best, to calm her down a little.
But the girl just shook her head rapidly. "That's not true! It was my idea from the beginning, mine alone!! I insisted so desperately, on getting you out of this organization and now look, where this has led us!!" she replied, sobbing and completely exhausted. "Now Spinel finally has my pendant, there's nothing we can do against him anymore, absolutely nothing!! Do you understand Amethio?!! We've lost, completely lost!!" she whimpered, burying her face deep in her hands, while she really started to cry now.
Then the 13-year-old was suddenly wrapped into two slender arms, while held timidly against a warm chest. "Shhh... There's no need to cry, Liko. Everything's fine!" Amethio said in a whisper and gently ran his hand, which by the way was not hidden in a glove, over her back extremely slowly, while the other ran through her hair and scratched her scalp a little. Apparently he wanted to calm her down with this method. At least, that's what Amethio was hoping for.
However the girl just sobbed even more now and instinctively clutched the back of his shirt, as she let her tears flow freely. It was sad, but true, she actually blamed herself for everything, after all Liko had made this whole suggestion in the first place.
"What have I done? It shouldn't work like that! I... I'm such a good-for-nothing, completely useless! I... I don't deserve it, to be a member of the Rising Volt Tacklers at all!" she continued, to sob and know even got a flow of small hiccups coming from time to time as well.
"No, you shouldn't even think that far! You're completely wrong about everything, are you even listening to, what exactly you're saying to yourself?!" Amethio now asked the question and couldn't actually believe, that the black-haired, the girl he fell in love with, was really questioning herself at this current moment.
The teenager now carefully grabbed her by both shoulders and turned her slightly towards him, so that he could look straight into her face. "Now listen to me very closely! What you're saying, is complete nonsense, so it's best, to get it out of your head straight away, Liko!" he said in a firm voice and looked deep into her eyes.
"What happened earlier, is definitely not your fault, do you hear me? Spinel must have expected, that we were trying, to trick him. I know him well, he always knows exactly, which leash he has to pull, to achieve his goals. But you aren't responsible for that in any way! So again, get that out of your head quickly!" he demanded and initially maintained eye contact.
"But Amethio, why..." Liko couldn't get a sensible sentence out at the moment. At the moment she didn't understand in the slightest, what the teenager was trying to tell her.
"Shhh, just don't say anything now." the 16-year-old said in a whisper and cut her off, by putting a finger onto her lips. "You're such a smart girl, Liko. You care about your friends, your Pokémon, everyone around you. You have a very special ability, you can understand other people's feelings, something like that isn't natural. And that's exactly, what makes you so special as a Pokémon Trainer. So please... Don't always try, to put obstacles in your way by doubting yourself. Because you won’t be able, to achieve your goals that way." he finally finished and then wiped away the girl's remaining tears with his thumb.
Liko let him finish in patiently and then took a deep breath, before exhaling again. "You're right. But what should we do now? Spinel has the key to the cell and he certainly won't give us back my pendant that easily." she said now and scratched her chin thoughtfully, after the teenager had pulled away from her again.
"I already thought that, that's why, I have an idea." he said and now leaned over to her ear, to whisper everything to her. Meanwhile Friede and Roy were now conscious again and were also listening to the conversation with half an ear at.
~~~
After the teen had pulled away from her ear, once again, Liko looked at him still with a slight unconvincing expression. "OK and you really think, that's gonna work?" she asked again, to make sure.
"Trust me, the plan is literally foolproof. Just try, to play along for as long as you can." the black and silver-haired said, to which Liko just gave a nod. "All right, then let's do it!" she said and suddenly fell to the ground, wincing. "Ohhh, it hurts so much!! Please, I need a doctor immediately, oh please quickly!" she whimpered, which of course was just an act, but that was exactly part of Amethio's plan.
And the bait seemed to have actually been taken, because as expected, two guards came into the dungeon and straight to the bars. "What kind of riot is this?" one of them asked, visibly annoyed.
"I'm really sorry, to have disturbed you, but my friend here isn't feeling well, you see." Amethio said with mock concern and pointed down at Liko, who was rolling around on the ground, still whimpering.
"She probably got a bladder infection from the very cold ground. That's why, we would be very grateful, if you guys could let us out for a moment so that she could quickly go to the toilet, would you?"
The guards looked at each other suspiciously for a moment. "If that's the case. But first we have to let our boss know." he said and was about, to take out his Rotom Phone to make a call when suddenly a yellow tail appeared behind him.
Shortly after, a quiet command was heard for "Thunderpunch!" and both guards collapsed to the ground unconscious, after they felt a brief pain in their necks and Cap appeared shortly afterwards grinning triumphantly. "Pika."
"Excellent work, Cap." it suddenly came from Friede, who was standing proudly next to Liko and Amethio. However, they initially gave the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers a confused expression. "Friede?! But how did you?..."
"I regained my consciousness just a few minutes ago and overheard with Roy, what you were up to with Amethio. So I thought, I'd just join in." he said, still smiling proudly, crossing his arms in front his chest.
"Whatever, we don't have much time, before they wake up again." Amethio said with a quick gesture to the two unconscious guards. Then he called Ceruledge out of its Pokéball. "Ceruledge, use Psycho Cut on the bars!" he gave his partner the command, which the Pokémon immediately carried out. In less than two seconds, the bars of the cell were divided into two and the path to escape was clear.
"Wow, that was really quick..." Roy remarked with fascination, which Amethio, however, skillfully ignored. "Yeah, we can rave about it later. Let's just get out of here!" he said and returned his Pokémon straight back into its Pokéball. So now all 4 of them carefully stepped over the still unconscious guards and slowly made their way up the dark stairwell all the way back to the top of the large Main Hall, where their previous plan had failed miserably.
"Good, now we just have to find Spinel and get my pendant back." Liko said and looked around a bit.
"Good idea, but unfortunately we have no idea, where he could be. The building is huge, it would probably take us hours, to find him in this labyrinth." Roy was indeed a little unconvinced.
"We'll never find out, as long as we don't try." Liko said now and took Sprigatito's Pokéball out of her bag. "Sprigatito, it's your turn." With a pop, the Grass Cat Pokémon materialized in front of everyone. "Nyaohja!"
"Listen, Sprigatito. It all depends on you now. You have to help us, find Spinel. Do you think, you can do it?" the 13 year-old asked her Pokémon and gave it a quick scratch. Sprigatito then nodded with a short meow and began to sniff around with its delicate nose. At some point, it seemed, to have found a track, because it now headed purposefully in the right direction, wich lead into another hallway.
"Looks like, it picked up a scent." Roy said and so he quietly followed the little Pokémon together with Liko, Friede and Amethio. After a while, everyone finally came to a halt in front of a large double door, as Sprigatito pointed its nose purposefully at it. "Nya!"
"And you're really sure, that Spinel is in there?" Friede asked, still looking a little unconvinced. "If one of us has a good nose, then it's definitely Sprigatito. We should just trust it." Liko said and scratched her Pokémon proudly behind its ears, before recalling it back into its ball. "Good work, Sprigatito. You've earned some rest now." With that, she put the Pokéball back in her yellow bag.
Now Amethio stepped a little closer to the door, before something occurred to him. "I know this door. Behind it is the meeting room, where the mission reports are always held." he explained, carefully pressing an ear against the door, when he thought, he heard a few voices behind it.
At first, the others looked at each other a little uncomprehendingly, but then they simply copied the teenager's movements in order to listen to, what was actually being discussed behind the door at that moment.
~~~
"Good work, Spinel. Apparently, I completely misjudged you. You're actually much better, than my incompetent son could ever be. From now on, you will always carry out the important missions and Amethio is welcome, to look for a new job." That was clearly Gibeon's voice.
All four of them continued to listen, their eyes wide, after what they had just heard. Liko and Friede in particular were completely flabbergasted. "Wait, does that mean, that your boss is actually your father?!" the black-haired asked, looking at the 16-year-old in disbelief.
However, the teen didn't react to this at first, but simply ignored the question for the time being. "Later. For now, let's concentrate on getting your pendant back." he said instead.
"Good idea, but you do realise, that we can't just barge in like that, don't you?" Friede asked, crossing his arms slightly in front of his chest.
"I'm sorry, but I'll do it my way." With these words, Amethio suddenly lashed out with his foot and kicked the door in with full force, causing it to literally burst off its hinges. As expected, this loud noise did not go unnoticed. In a few seconds, several guards had moved back into position.
Friede and the two children blinked perplexedly for a moment, but then quickly regained their composure, before taking up their positions to the left and right of the black and silver-haired.
"What's all this about?" Now Gibeon appeared in his true form for the first time. And it really had to be said, that he was one of the reasons, why Amethio had never fully spoken about his past.
He was a tall man, even taller than Friede, with an extremely frightening expression on his face. He had extremely dark and thick eyebrows and otherwise, he looked anything but friendly. He wore black clothes, almost identical to Amethio's, with the difference that he also wore a long, black cloak with a high collar. He also wore high, black boots with pointed studs on the ankle and black gloves, also studded. His hair was also cut extremely short and almost looked, as if it consisted of black and white stripes, that had only been shaved into the surface. The overall look was rounded off with a dark and thick full beard around Gibeon's mouth.
"Spinel, I demand an explanation!" he said, not sounding particularly enthusiastic.
Spinel, however, waved his hands nervously, at least as surprised. "I... I have no idea how this could have happened, Master Gibeon, my guards were downstairs watching them the whole time, I swear!" he said awkwardly, pointing his finger at the quartet. "How on earth did you manage to escape?"
Liko and Amethio grinned slightly triumphantly. "Well, let's put it this way, with a little ingenuity and excellent acting." Amethio replied, before his face became serious again. "The game is over, Spinel. Hand the pendant back over right now!" he said, only to receive a spiteful laugh from his rival.
"Oh no, I'm already shaking with fear. You haven't the slightest chance against me, my dear." he said, obviously trying, to provoke the teenager again, but he was no longer impressed by this at all. "I'm very sorry, but your little tricks no longer work on me." he hissed and took a Pokéball out of his right trouser pocket. "Ceruledge!" he exclaimed and shortly afterwards, the Fire Swordsman Pokémon materialised in front of its Trainer immediately in a fighting stance.
"Well, son, I really didn't think you could actually be serious. I'm surprised, because you were never like this, when you were a child back then." Gibeon remarked, but this only made Amethio even angrier.
"You have nothing more to say to me, 'Father'! You've never really been a father to me anyway! Shortly after Malu died, you changed completely for the worse. You simply left. Then mum died too and I had nowhere to turn! Until one day I met Hamber and joined the Explorers. I finally had recognition, could prove myself, but you never recognised it!!! You only ever used and manipulated me!!! I always tried, to prove to you, that I was capable of carrying out missions flawlessly, but you just never realised it!!! I'm so sick of all this!!!" he growled and now Friede, Roy and Liko could see the real, angry side of Amethio for the first time. Even Zir and Conia, who were also present, were very surprised by the teenager's sudden behaviour. "Amethio, sir..."
"Do you even know, what you're saying right now, Amethio? How dare you, go against me, your own father?! Without me, you're nothing, nobody! You'll never make it out there on your own!"
"Oh, and I think, that you're incredibly wrong with that. Because I am simply appreciated by Liko and the others! I am treated like a real person, as a human being, someone with feelings and needs and not like a piece of dirt or a puppet, that you can do, whatever you want with, whenever it suits you! I've finally found real friends, Liko has opened my eyes! I finally have the chance of a real, better life than I could ever have with you!!!" he replied, snarling.
"If that's really the case... You are no longer worthy, of being treated as my son! Spinel, put an end to him and his so-called 'friends'!" he said, taking a step back.
The spoken one grinned diabolically and stepped directly opposite Amethio and Ceruledge, his Umbreon already summoned from its Pokéball.
When Liko realised, what was about to happen, she now stepped into the 'battlefield' as well with Sprigatito next to Amethio. "Sprigatito and I are going to help you, aren't we, Sprigatito?" she asked, her gaze briefly fixed on her partner. "Nyaohja!" it meowed in reply.
"Oh, now your sweet little girlfriend has to help you too? How cute." Spinel just grinned mischievously.
"For the last time, you lightning bolt, she's not my girlfriend! And now you'd better concentrate!" Amethio hissed, visibly annoyed, and stretched out his hand. "Ceruledge, use Bitter Blade!" he commanded his partner, whereupon the Pokémon sprinted forward with both blade-like arms lashed out, to hit Spinel's Umbreon, but the Moonlight Pokémon dodged the attack with ease.
"Pah, is that all you've got?! How pathetic. Umbreon, Dark Pulse!" Spinel now gave the order. Umbreon, of course, did not resist in the slightest and fired circular beams from its forehead, aiming directly at Amethio.
"Amethio, watch out! Sprigatito, Leafage, quickly!!!" Liko called out. Sprigatito jumped straight into the air and fired dozens of small leaves from its fur collar, which shot like several bullets in all directions towards Spinel and Umbreon. And it succeeded, as the storm of leaves caused the Dark Pulse to dissipate, before it could actually land a direct hit on Amethio and Ceruledge.
"Tch, he's strong, very strong!!!" Amethio muttered quietly before ordering Ceruledge again, to use Psycho Cut, which was actually a good strategy. As the attack hit the ground with a somewhat loud thud, Spinel was thrown off balance by the force, causing the pendant to fall from the pocket of his cloak, in which he kept it.
"My pendant! I guess, it's now or never... Sprigatito, now use Quick Attack!" Liko shouted to her Pokémon, whereupon Sprigatito sprinted off at lightning speed and managed, to catch the pendant with its teeth and throw it in the direction of its Trainer, who quickly caught it with her hand.
"Good work, Sprigatito!" the black-haired said and gave her Pokémon a quick scratch under the chin, before immediately putting her pendant back around her neck.
"Tch, don't think, I'm just going to let you get away with it that easily! Umbreon, use Snarl!!!" Spinel finally had enough. His Pokémon immediately launched an attack, firing a red-ringed stream of smoke from its mouth, directly targeting Liko and Sprigatito.
Amethio watched the scene unfolding directly in front of his eyes in horror, before immediately rushing straight towards Liko and Sprigatito. "Liko, look out!!!" As soon as he reached them, he yanked the girl down with both arms mid jumping, pressing her protectively tightly against his body, and squeezed his eyes shut, probably waiting for the attack, to hit him instead.
~~~
But before that could happen, Liko's pendant suddenly began to glow brightly, causing the teenager to quickly pulling himself away from her. "What the...?" he asked himself, but now the pendant began to glow even more brightly, before a green, hexagonal shaped protective barrier formed around him, the girl and Sprigatito shortly afterwards, which in turn ensured, that Umbreon's attack bounced off it and couldn't score a hit anymore.
Friede and Roy, who in the meantime had managed, to overpower Gibeon and Spinel and keep them at bay with the help of Charizard, now also became aware of what was happening. Liko's pendant, which was still glowing, and a green hexagonal shield, which had erected itself protectively around her, Amethio and Sprigatito. Even Zir and Conia, who had just been standing there motionless, couldn't believe their eyes.
After about 5 minutes, the protective shield slowly dissolved again and the pendant also stopped glowing. Liko's hand instinctively reached for it, holding it tightly. Slowly, the girl looked at Amethio, who was still looking at her, completely dumbfounded, before the teen regained his composure after a few seconds. The 16-year-old slowly stood up again and offered her a hand. "Are you alright, Liko? Nothing happened to you?" he asked in a voice full of concern.
The young Trainer nodded slightly and finally took Amethio's hand, whereupon the black and silver-haired immediately pulled her to her feet and then let his eyes wander over her for a moment, to really make sure, she wasn't hurt in any way.
"No, I'm fine. But that was really reckless of you, you know? Just imagine, if the attack had really hit you..." she murmured quietly, sounding worried now as well.
"There's no need, to worry about me. I've been in far worse situations, than this one. What really matters, is that you're okay." the teenager replied. Then he took a step closer to the girl and suddenly hugged her tightly, while burying his face into the crook of her neck, deeply inhaling her scent. This sudden action caused her eyes to widen slightly in shock. After standing there perplexed like that for a few seconds, Liko finally simply returned Amethios embrace and hugged him back, just as tightly.
After they both separated from each other after a short while, Amethio couldn't take his eyes off Liko and instead looked deep into her beautiful blue eyes. Then his gaze lingered on her lips, which seemed to him, as if they were just waiting for what the black and silver-haired had in mind. Slowly, he closed the distance between himself and Liko, getting closer and closer to her rosy lips, and when the girl made no effort to stop him, Amethio finally placed his lips gently on hers and kissed her carefully and slowly.
Contrary to all expectations, she returned his gentle kiss and carefully intertwined her hands with his, which made Amethio smile a little into the kiss. At some point, he pulled away from her again, his lips still tingling from the incredible feeling, so that he didn't make a single sound at first.
"You wouldn't believe, how much I've wanted to do this all along..." Amethio admitted in a breathy voice, having gradually regained his speech.
Liko smiled a little sheepishly and had indeed turned a little red around the nose. "And you don't know, how long I've been waiting for this." she replied and then looked at him with a dreamy smile.
The teenager continued to smile with relief and gently placed a hand on the girl's cheek. "Listen, Liko... There's something I need to tell you..." he spoke a little uncertainly, but before he could continue, the pleasant moment was interrupted by a clearing of the throat, causing both of them to jump apart, slightly startled.
They both looked towards Friede, who had a slightly mischievous grin on his face. "I really don't want to interrupt you two, but I think we should get out of here, don't you think so too? " the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers said.
"Yeah, but what's happening to them over there?" Roy asked, pointing his finger at Spinel and Gibeon, who were now sitting on the floor tied together.
"Oh, don't worry about those. Officer Jenny will take care of that. Now let's go." he said and called Charizard back into his Pokéball, before he set off. But then Zir and Conia joined in. "Just wait a moment longer. If it's all right for Amethio sir... We would also like to leave the organisation. We want to change our lives too." they both said somewhat uncertainly.
Amethio just nodded with a smile at their request. "If that's what you want, I won't stop you. It's entirely up to you." he said, as he put an arm around Liko's shoulders, whereupon she just simply leaned against him.
Both nodded shortly afterwards and bowed briefly in gratitude. Then everyone finally marched out of the building, while Friede quickly informed Officer Jenny about the situation. As soon as everyone was finally back outside, they all called out their Pokémon almost simultaneously, with Zir and Conia of course calling out their Skarmory. Liko naturally took her place on Amethio's Corviknight again and shortly afterwards, the entire team took off to the skies, as quickly and swiftly as possible, far away from this place.
~~~
After everyone had landed safely on the Brave Asagi again, they were all welcomed by Mollie, Orla, Murdock and Dot and pulled into a big hug.
"In the name of Arceus, you're all well!!! We thought you weren't coming back at all!" Murdock sobbed with relief and actually cried a few tears of joy.
Friede simply had to smile in response. He knew his comrade all too well. "Don't worry, we'll explain everything calmly. But now let's go inside." the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers said and, with Cap on his shoulder, went straight down into the interior of the airship and directly into the meeting room, where the others arrived a little later too and took their seats at the table.
"Well, now you really have to tell us everything down to the smallest detail." Orla finally spoke up and leant her elbows on the tabletop.
Everyone just giggled and Friede put on his big grin again. "Don't worry, you'll find out everything as soon as possible." he assured them and turned his attention to Liko for now, who was sitting on Amethio's lap and leaning relaxed against his chest. "But first, I think these two have a lot to explain to us as well." he said, giving Amethio a casual thumbs up and even a little wink.
Liko and Amethio both turned bright red, as everyone turned their eyes on them, looking extremely knowingly at the pair shortly after Friede's statement.
"Well... You know, the thing is..." the black and silver-haired began and it was clear to see, that he seemed a little uncomfortable talking about the current situation. "It's not that easy, to explain really..." he started and scratched his neck a little.
"That's right, there was something important you wanted to tell me, earlier, wasn't it?" Liko now spoke up, also expecting an answer from the teenager.
Finally, the 16-year-old had to sigh deeply, after realizing, that he no longer had a chance, to deny his feelings for the young Trainer. "Ok, ok! You've won, you're already getting an explanation." he said and ran his hand trough his hair for a brief moment. Amethio already knew... This was definitely going to be a very long night for him...
To be continued...
Sidenotes: And here we are again already at the end of the 6th Part of this Story. This time, it took me a little longer, to write it, as I had announced at the end of the last Part, that there would be another Pokémon battle in this one, including further events.
I really tried, to make it as realistic as possible, so I really hope, you found that and the rest of this Part exciting enough.
But all of this aside now, what did you think of Part 6? I'd also like to know, what you guys thought of my portrayal of Gibeon and also wich 'dramatic' moment you liked the most, as I've included quite a few. As always, feel free to write that in the tags down below, so gladly have them coming.
So far there's nothing more for me to say, except that I would be really happy, if you guys could give this Part a like, as well as gladly reblogging it in addition to your opinions in the tags. Also please let me know, what you'll think, is gonna happen in the next Part.
Thank you so much, for following me this far and I really hope, that you'll be also back again soon for Part 7 of:
'Pokémon Horizons - The Sudden Turn'
Roleplaying/Writing
My favorite muse(s) of theirs and why: I don't really know the other muses. I've heard a bit on Charis but really I know more about Ray. Plus he's the only one I've interacted with, so pretty sure he wins out here.
My favorite interaction/thread of theirs: Riley's mun already knows too, I love Ray and Riley interacting honestly. Monkey brain is just like ":O Aussie Aussie Aussie :DDD"
My thoughts on their unique characterization/interpretation of their muse(s): "I just think they're neat!" Okay but the tracking bit to Ray's powers is real cool. Also his relationship with "Charis" is also quite brilliant imo.
My thoughts on their writing style as a whole: Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming, the amount of information in their writing. But that also probably comes from starting things with them more than writing further along the line and all.
Situation(s)/Plot(s) I’d love to see their muse(s) in: I don't think I follow closely enough to have something specific to their muses but in general, I think it's time to read growth. I see a lot on muses struggling and their grief is great as someone that loves some good angst. But now that we're all reaching rock bottom, it's time to see them get better before they fall again. I wanna see Ray be a badass. Go into the field be successful. At least think he's successful. Then it can blow up and we can see him come to terms with that. And that's when he really grows. When he comes out of that.
Someone else I love seeing them interact with: Well I've already mentioned Riley. I think JJ interactions with Ray are good too. I haven't followed closely on that but what I remember seeing, I remember being "Aww" or "Ooo".
Anything else I want to say about their roleplaying: Just that I look forward to seeing more. Especially with Riley. Sorry it just brings me so much joy.
If We Know Each Other
What I Think Are Their Best Qualities: Hm. I don't think I know them well enough for this one
What I Think Are Their Strengths: The same here. I will say though that all our interactions IC and OOC have all been pleasant. Also as I said before, I think they've got some cool ideas.
A Memorable OOC Interaction Of Ours: Plotting our most recent thread was fun!
Why Others Should RP With Them: They're nice and I think they're neat. What more do you need?
How Others Should Approach Them: I imagine memes or inbox starters are a great place to shart
Other Roleplayers I’d Recommend To Them: Connor ( @detectiveconnor ) for Ray for detective / PI things, Joe ( @heartxshaped-bruises ) and Charis for “taking care of business” aka contract killer / mafia type stuff, Swift ( @diicktective ) and Ray once again for detective / PI things chaotic stylez
Anything else I want to say about them: Uhh I dunno. I mean I'd totally recommend writing with them too
If We Have/Plan To Interact Together
A plot I’d like to write with them: Something with Max definitely. We've been meaning to do that. Maybe they meet through Riley and they start using so much slang he's just ??? Oh oh! Max making desserts and things for them too! Lamingtons was it? Not a serious plot but still something!
A muse I want to introduce to them: Since I already talked about Max, Oliver is another one. Or!! Darius on my other multi when if I ever get him finished up for Charis for crime things
A ship/broship I’d like to propose to them: Hmm I mean I think we might've talked about Eira and Ray?
A thread with them I’m excited about: Definitely really excited to get that U.mbrella A.cademy thread going. I've been dying to use that verse and I think the plot is really cool too and especially how Eira and Ray will be do similar but different and that'll just be interesting to explore
Anything else I want to say: I totally want to talk to you more so hopefully we get to! :)
Healing Ties - Chapter 18 - Part 1
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
It took Yore far longer than he would have liked to lure the rock golem into the swamp, dodging hands that reached up from the mud as they went.
He'd hoped to get it bogged down in the mud but it just kept ploughing through it.
At least there were no boulders for it to throw out here and the mud slowed it down enough that it had no chance of getting close enough to slam its rocky arms into him.
When he trusted the wrong ground and sunk belly deep into the mud himself, he decided he was done.
The dead grabbed for him and tried to pull him under but he managed to struggle and squirm his way back onto firmer ground.
It looked like they'd distracted the rock golem as well.
Yore took the opportunity to dash back the way he'd come.
He hated that he'd left Fanner alone for so long but he had needed to get the rock golem clear of the path.
It was too dangerous.
Members of his own pack used this route regularly.
Chances were, a group had been sent out looking for him and would be coming back this way once they stopped in at the inn and were told that he was fine and had already headed home.
Hopefully Cookie was with Fanner.
She's stayed with Yore long enough to ensure he had the situation under control and then she'd dashed off.
He didn't know that she was capable of much in the way of fighting, if it came to that but she was smart and she seemed particularly protective of Fanner.
He doubled back to where the fight had been started, left the bag for now and began to track Fanner.
Cookie seemed to have come this way as well but the path she took was meandering.
However she had tracked him seemed quite different from Yore's method.
Yore heard the distant sound of Fanner's voice and ran in its direction.
Fanner fell abruptly silent as Yore got close but he could smell him now.
Cookie chittered, loud and friendly, from the bottom of a dried up creek bed.
Fanner poked his head up as Yore climbed down the bank.
"Yore," Fanner exclaimed, throwing his arms around Yore's furry body.
"I thought you were dead."
Yore waited until Fanner let go and then shifted back into his human form.
"I'm sorry I left you along for so long. I had to get the rock golem away from the path."
Fanner hugged him again and this time Yore had arms to hug him back with.
Fanner was shaking, his breathing coming fast and uneven.
Yore rubbed his back.
"It's okay. Everything's fine now. You're safe and so am I."
"I really thought you died."
"I'm sorry, Fanner. Really. I wanted to come and find you sooner but I was worried someone would get hurt if I didn't deal with it right away."
Fanner pulled back and looked Yore over.
"You're hurt."
"A little and very muddy. Sorry. I had to go all the way out into the swamp to get it far enough away."
Fanner started brushing his hands over Yore, not quite touching him as he dissipated the mix of blood and dried mud on his skin.
He paused to pick a shard of rock out of a cut on Yore's shoulder.
He was still breathing unevenly and his eyes were red and damp.
"Hey, are you okay?" Yore asked.
Fanner gave a shaky nod of his head, but it wasn't very convincing.
"I'm sorry I scared you."
"You saved my life. You and Cookie."
Yore offered him a gentle smile.
"She was good, wasn't she? Somehow she knew that thing was there and she was determined to protect you."
"I saw it when it still just looked like a pile of rocks and... and I was going to go and sit on it and have a drink of water."
"She stayed long enough for me to get the situation under my control and then she ran off after you. I'm glad she found you."
"Do you think they'll let her stay at the settlement you're taking me to? If she wants to, I mean."
"I don't see why not. I'll talk to them about it for you."
"Thank you. I wish I could go with you but if I at least have Cookie maybe... maybe things will be okay."
"Things will be fine. You're starting to trust me and that's good but we've only known one another for a few days. We've gotten a bit closer a bit faster than we otherwise might have because of the circumstances but if you can get to know me this quickly I'm sure you'll have lots of friends within a week."
Fanner nodded as he lifted Yore's arm and cleaned under his armpit.
He still looked so distressed, so vulnerable.
"What if I don't? What if things really aren't okay?"
"If things really aren't okay you can come and visit me and I'll help you figure things out. But only if you really need to, okay? I'm not saying that I don't want to see you but I have a lot of things going on in my life and there are a bunch of things I need to jump right into when I get back."
Fanner nodded.
"Thank you. I promise I won't bother you just because I miss you."
That made Yore's heart clench.
He wanted to reassure Fanner that he wouldn't be bothering him, that he'd actually like to see him, he just couldn't afford to take on the extra responsibility.
He wasn't sure that would help, though.
Fanner was a person, a friend, not a responsibility but he did need help and that would take a great deal of time, patience and careful thought.
"I'll come and visit you as soon as I can," Yore promised.
He smiled as Fanner circled around him, checking for any remaining mud.
Yore would have settled for a quick rinse in the river but Fanner had done thorough work.
"Am I sufficiently de-mudded yet?"
Fanner made a sound of dismay in the back of his throat.
"You're covered in tiny cuts."
"Don't worry about it, Fanner. I'm a man who's had tiny cuts all throughout my internal organs. I can handle having them on the surface of my skin."
Fanner took a deep breath in and let it out as a sigh.
Yore did his best to turn his reflex to laugh into a kind smile.
Fanner just sounded so serious.
"It's just some minor cuts. Like I said, I've had worse. Hell, you've had worse. Why is this upsetting you so much?"
Fanner shrugged.
He wouldn't look Yore in the eye.
Of all the things that had happened to him on this journey and a lot of shit had happened to him in just a few short days, this one seemed to have shaken him the most.
Yore looked around.
"Hey, where's Cookie? She's surprisingly stealthy for... I don't even know how to describe the shape that she is."
Fanner let out a slightly broken but genuine laugh.
"She went away and caught me a fish before. She probably hasn't gone far. Or maybe she has. I don't really know what goes on in her head or what motivates her but it's worked out in my favour so far."
need to yell about health somewhere so its gonna be here
I think I've hit rock bottom with my hypermobility. I have always felt like strengthening didn't work for me and often made me worse. I think I just haven't found the right program, so I basically gave up. After I hurt my ankle last fall, I've barely walked at all all winter (the cold is what caused the injury to begin with, so walking in the cold was not an option). I stopped going to PT after the holidays bc I knew covid would spike again. SO I've just deteriorated even further. Nothing involved with my SI joint or pelvis will hold together now. I am in constant pain. Corrections aren't working. My upper back is also a mess, likely because of the former.
I reached out to other hypermobile folks and was told to try the muldowney protocol, so we got the book and I'm going to do my best to follow it religiously by myself. It highly recommends working with a PT, and OH how I wish I could, but I don't know if anyone in town even knows the muldowney method, and even if so, I only trust one place to require masks anymore. I'm going in on Thursday as i still have leftover credits from spraining my ankle, just to see if they can help me with corrections so I can get some relief, but I will ask about the protocol too.
The trouble is I'm losing my medicaid sometime soon (april at the soonest) bc the government is cutting off millions of us now that the pandemic is """over""". The ins plan I'm supposed to be on after that doesn't cover my preferred PT. Of course. Going anywhere else will mean risking what's left of my life with every visit and I'm not willing to do that. So my options are get a really expensive mktplace ins so PT is "only" $30/visit, or go with deers work ins and only go to PT on an emergency basis and pay out of pocket, working at home on my own to try to fix myself. Not looking forward to any of this.
Meanwhile we've ordered a basic PT table, body pillow, and some PT tools so I can get started on my own. I'm afraid I'm going to experience more pain and inflammation for awhile, leaving me potentially unable to work, exacerbating financial issues after I already owed a couple thou more in taxes than I expected. But I don't really have a choice! In addition to the protocol, I'm going to start doing qi gong every morning and trying to walk down the street and back and slowly build up my walking time again now that it's warming up. I have to stop bending for now. Just a real mess and a lot of work ahead but I am really hoping I can handle this myself because I kind of have to.
It's all a bit traumatic. I grew up not having proper healthcare and really didn't have consistent care til the medicaid expansion, and now we're too far over the poverty line (which is a joke.. making like 24k a year, which the govt takes like 13% of, doesn't mean i can magically afford medical bills). Where is the M4A?? I am so tired of crying both from pain and the stress of my healthcare situation.
tom holland x actress!reader
warnings: somewhat smut? swearing and fluff
summary: during an interview for your new film, tom exposes your odd routine during intimate scenes and your favourite flower.
a/n: i got carried away. there's a lot going on in here. enjoy?
wc: 2.6k
Tumblr media
"Hello! I'm Adrien Fox with Pop Sugar and we are here with stars of the new film 'Week Off', Tom Holland and Y/N Y/L/N!" Adrien introduced you and Tom to the cameras.
You and Tom gave little waves, "Hello!"
"Now, let's get right into it."
Adrien began asking generic questions while you tried your best to prevent any spoilers from leaving Tom's lips.
"Can you explain the movie a bit to anyone who is unfamiliar with the book or hasn't watched the trailer?"
Tom opened his mouth to speak before closing it, "I think I'll let Y/N do that."
Adrien laughed before you spoke, "Yeah, um. It's basically a comedy with a little rated R content. Some romance, but mostly raunchy and hilarious stuff. It follows the employees in this law firm and their vacation away from work. Lots ensues during said trip including relationships, arguments and too much drinking."
"And you guys worked with many famous actors and actresses in this film. Like, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Kevin Hart, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and The Rock. How was working with that many iconic people in the industry? You guys are obviously incredibly well known as well, but I imagine some of these people were your idols growing up." Adrien asked and you and Tom nodded.
"Yeah, uh, yeah. It was an honour. Absolutely amazing. Like, I never imagined I'd be making films, let alone films with stars like Kevin Hart and Emma Stone, you know? I'm just really proud of this one and I love everyone who we worked on it with." Tom gave his answer making you nod.
You cleared your throat, "Yeah, Zendaya is my best friend and she has been for years, long before this movie came along, but I still got so excited about working with her. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing, so hilarious. You put her and Chris into a room together and it's just comedy central." you laughed with Tom at the memory.
"We've seen in the trailer that you two share many intimate and – may I say – risqué scenes in this film. Was it hard to keep that level of professionalism and friendship while shooting those scenes?"
You let out a little chuckle at the question before Tom rubbed his chin and spoke, "Since Y/N and I are already good friends off screen, I thought it would be awkward filming those scenes, but Y/N does this weird handshake after every take and it wasn't awkward 'cause it just made me laugh."
Adrien laughed a little before speaking, "What handshake?"
You shook your head with a smile as you recalled the first time you ever did the handshake with Tom.
"Ready, Holland?" you had your pyjamas on and were making your way to your mark in the set of your character's hotel room.
Tom nodded before following you in, cameras and crew hot on his heels, "Ready as I'll ever be."
He was shirtless. A pair of loose fitting grey shorts hung low on his waist. His costume for this scene as Niko Sai.
A black silk slip hung carelessly off of your frame. Ending at the middle of your thighs, v-neck dipping low on your chest. Your costume for Kora Patel.
"We're going to take it from Tom's line; 'You want me just as much as I want you'. Okay?" you and Tom gave a thumbs up, "Action!"
"You want me just as much as I want you. Everytime you sneak a glance at me and you think I don't see, but I do because I'm already looking at you, Patel." Tom walked behind you, looking at you through the mirror in front of you. "I don't blame you, I am incredibly good looking." he smirked to himself.
"I'm guessing you couldn't fit your shirt over your ginormous head?" you rolled your eyes.
Tom's smirk only grew, "Is that a little bit of drool on your mouth, Patel? Who knew the Kora Patel had a thing for Niko Sai? Oh, the Lord is good."
You rested your hands on the sink and leaned forward, "This is a useless conversation, Sai." you turned to face him, "I feel nothing for you. Don't you get that?"
He stepped closer to you and cupped your face in his palm, "Yes you do, you just don't want to." his face showed pain, all humour drained from his character.
You shook your head with a dry laugh, "You're only trying with me because it's convenient. The company's quiet little Kora Patel, right?"
He took another step towards you, holding your hip in a tight grip, "That's a lie. Nothing about us is convenient."
You chuckled before your hand flew to grasp his hair, tangling your fingers in his curls. Your other hand pressed against his pec. Nails tracing patterns on his skin. Tom's breath hitched along with yours as his body automatically drew closer to you.
You tightened your grip on his hair, "It is convenient because you know I keep to myself. You know that I won't go running my mouth about how long you last or if size really does matter. You know that I'm an easy one to fuck," you pulled him closer, "And toss aside, right, Sai?"
"No." Tom swallowed, "You're wrong, Patel."
You shrugged, "I can give you what you want," you ran your thumb across his bottom lip, "Physically." your eyes met his with heavy lids, "Not emotionally. That's why you need Remedy. Not me." your lips brushed his as you spoke, your voice just loud enough for the mics to pick up.
He leaned in and nearly kissed you before you pushed him away slightly by his chest, foreheads still touching, "Let me kiss you." he whispered, sounding so desperate that you nearly abandoned the script and pulled him into you.
You rolled your lips between your teeth, "And if I don't?" you raised an eyebrow, challenging him.
"I'll leave you alone. If that's what you want, I'll go and have a useless one night stand with a girl who could never measure up to you." he pulled your hips flesh against his, "But if you let me kiss you. I promise to show you how much I mean it when I say that I'll spend all night showering every inch of your body with the love it deserves." he brushed his lips against yours again before bringing his mouth to your ear, "Just say the word, darling, and I'm yours."
Your heavy breaths were the only things that could be heard besides the small sound of shuffling behind the cameras. Your eyes flickered from his eyes to his lips before you closed the distance and pushed your lips to his.
Fighting for dominancy, teeth clashing, hands roaming. Unscripted groans falling from Tom's lips as you tugged on his hair, running your fingers along his scalp. His hands gripped the bottom of your thighs before you jumped and wrapped your legs around his waist.
"I still hate you." you breathed against his lips as he kissed the corner of your mouth.
You felt him smirk, "You sure have a funny way of showing it."
He carried you to the bedroom, gently laying you down and climbing on top of you, never breaking the kiss. His hands running down your sides, squeezing and rubbing. Your lips moving in sync until he pulled away only to attach his lips to your jawline, leaving slow but hard kisses down your neck, leading to your collarbone.
"Still hate me?" Tom mumbled against your skin.
You let out a breathy moan, "More than ever."
"What do you hate about me, Patel?" he lifted up the bottom of your black slip.
"E-everything." you fake gasped as he rolled his hips into yours.
He laughed dryly, "Everything, huh? The noises you're making say otherwise."
"You're such a dick." you moaned.
He smirked against your breast, "You're about to take my—"
"—Don't finish that fucking sentence, Sai."
Soft moans fell from your lips as you wrapped your legs around his waist again and pulled him closer to you. He groaned against your skin as the cameras picked up every noise, every movement, every kiss. You ran your nails down his back, surely leaving marks in its wake. His grip on your hips was almost punishing, as if he wanted there to be bruises the next day.
"And cut! Great work, guys. Ten minute break and we'll shoot it again."
Tom immediately got off of you and sat to the side of the bed before looking at you with concern, "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
You let out a laugh before shaking your head, "No, you didn't hurt me. Dap me up." you held out your hand and he stared confused.
"What you up?" he chuckled.
You smiled before lifting his hand and doing the movements for him, "Just like that." he finally got it down and smiled.
"You Americans are definitely odd." he teased.
You tossed him a wink as an assistant handed you a robe, "See you in ten, Holland."
"And that's the handshake. It's not really a handshake, more of a greeting. I just did it after our first intimate scene because Tom was acting weird and I didn't want things to be awkward." you explained with a shrug as Adrien and Tom laughed.
Tom nodded, "I thought I hurt her! So I asked if I did and all she said was 'dap me up', like, what?" he laughed with you.
"You guys have really great chemistry on and off screen." Adrien complimented making your cheeks heat up.
You nodded, "Thank you. It took a lot of work to break through his industrial ego." you joked with an exhausted sigh as Adrien laughed.
Tom gasped beside you, "I do not have an industrial ego!"
"Mhm, sure." you joked before reaching over and giving Tom's thigh a gentle squeeze, "I meant indestructible."
Tom huffed and crossed his arms, "This is bullying."
Adrien laughed again, "We have to talk about something," he started and you already knew what was coming, "Lots of fans have speculated that the romance on screen carries on off screen." he smirked.
You and Tom laughed nervously. Almost awkwardly.
The situations that you went through with Tom while filming definitely built your relationship with him and strengthened it. In all honesty, you didn't know if the feelings you had for him were reciprocated.
In Tom's head, he was adamant that you had no feelings for him beyond the big screen. Both of you were too timid to confess first. His feelings for you developed a few weeks into filming and since then have only gotten stronger as your friendship grew and you spent more time together.
The amount of times that this topic had been brought up today was tiring. Every answer was the same: "No, no. We're just really good friends."
You decided to joke around, "Honestly, I've asked Tom out at least twenty times and he keeps rejecting me." you pouted and sniffled.
Adrien let out a joyous laugh as Tom gasped and choked on air at your words.
"That is not true! She has never asked me out!" he defended himself.
You shook your head with a deep frown, "He's broken my heart too many times. This is probably my last time acting with him." you continued on with the joke.
Tom shook his head furiously, "That is one hundred percent false. If she had asked me out, we would already be dating." he let the words fall from his lips without a second thought.
You fought the instinct to snap your head towards him. His confession catching you off guard. You played it off with another pout and shrug. Unsure if he was joining in on the prank or not.
Adrien raised a suggestive eyebrow, "What I'm hearing is that Y/N just needs to ask you out and we have our new couple."
You fake gasped, "Why do I have to ask him out? He should be asking me out with a million roses and a horse drawn carriage." you flipped your hair over your shoulder.
"You don't even like roses." Tom laughed, "You like dandelions because they turn into those fluffy things that you can make a wish with." he remembered the information off of the top of his head, "And because it sounds like you're saying 'dandy lions' when you say their name."
You nodded with a smile, "A million dandelions then. And maybe I'll think about it." you joked with a yawn making the two men laugh.
"You heard it here first. We have a new couple on the rise. Tom just needs to find a million dandelions and a horse drawn carriage." Adrien laughed again.
Tom scoffed dramatically, "Find? I already have them in my garage, ready to go."
Adrien cheered as you felt a heat creep up your neck, "Did I say dandelions? I meant daisies."
"Got those, too." Tom smirked making you roll your eyes.
"Okay, we need to end this interview before Tom buys all the flowers in Berlin." you joked.
After the interview ended, you said your goodbyes to Adrien and the crew before you and Tom made your way back to your temporary hotel suite for the week of press junkets.
Tom walked you to your room, stopping at the door, "That was an odd interview." he chuckled.
You nodded, "Indeed. It was fun, though." you smiled and he returned the expression.
There was an awkward beat of silence before he spoke again, "T-that whole asking me out thing. You were kidding, right? Like, just a show for the cameras?" he laughed nervously.
You swallowed air before replying with a timid smile, "Y-yeah. Totally. Just for the fans." you nodded again, "Um, I should head to bed. More interviews tomorrow. See you in the morning." you gave him a little wave before turning to your door and pulling out your key.
He nodded with the smallest of pouts before turning on his heel and starting the walk back to his suite.
Just as your hand was turning the knob, Tom's voice called out to you again.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" he spoke in one breath.
You bit your lip to conceal your smile, but it was no use. His question sparked a flame in your stomach that wasn't dying out anytime soon.
You turned with a bright grin, "I'd love to."
His features went from pure fright to relief in a matter of seconds, "G-great. I'll- uh, I'll text you the details. Goodnight." he gave you a little salute making you laugh.
"Sounds good. Night, Holland." you nodded your head before entering your hotel room.
You leaned against the door as soon as it shut. A euphoric glow radiating off of you. You were going on a date with Tom Holland.
Tom happily punched the air. Skipping down the hallway, a new found joy in his step. Chris Hemsworth walked out of his room and examined the gleeful boy.
"What's got you all smiley?" he chuckled.
Tom stopped and smiled, staring at the ceiling, "I just got myself a date."
Chris raised an impressed eyebrow before laughing, "You really are Peter Parker. Night, kid."
"Goodnight, Chris." Tom's smile never faded as he made his way back to his suite.
Not even ten minutes had gone by since he last spoke to you and he already missed you. He pulled out his phone and pressed on your contact.
Tom: sorry i didn't have any dandelions. hope you can make an exception x
Y/N: i suppose but the horse drawn carriage is a must x
1.3.11 SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1st, ‪11:46 AM
‬Haddonfield, Illinois
The man walked into the foyer of the large house, squeezing passed the very large security guard who answered the door. A large grandiose staircase arose before him and split half-way up to the second floor, veering off right and left directing toward the two wings of the giant mansion. To his left was a luxiorious dining room with seating for up to twenty. Large renassiance style portraits hung on the walls: picturesque scenes of Italian countrysides and vineyards, the kind of paintings you'd see reproduced on the walls inside of an Olive Garden, only these were no doubt original. To the man's right was a large parlor, with more vibrant paintings, sculptures, antique sofas, and a grand piano in the far corner.
An elderly woman sat on one of these. She was cross-stitching silently. She looked up at him, her eyebrows furrowed, and then she looked back at what she was doing. The man sighed, ignoring her. In front of him, to the left of the stairs was a sliding door that opened into the actual living space of the home. From there he heard the voice call to him, “Come in son, come on in.”
The man entered the room and saw his boss sitting on a large leather sofa, a persian cat on his lap. He was watching the large flatscreen television mounted above the stone-hearthed fireplace before him. More aerial shots of the burning hospital. The man was frail, liver spots speckled his olive skin. His hair, once brown, was gray and thinning at the top, his eyes once black as night has turned to the color of charcoal smoke. He wore a plush royal blue robe and an old fashioned sleeping cap that reminded the visitor of Ebeneezer Scrooge.
The man bent to one knee before the old man. The cat hissed and jumped off the elderly man's lap and ran off toward the adjacent kitchen. The old man extended his hand, “Thank you for coming so soon.”
The man kissed the old man's hand, “Sure thing Mr. Vizzini.”
“I hope I did not trouble you too much last night Andre,” Mr. Vizzini said as Andre took a seat on the couch beside him.
Andre smiled, “Hey boss...a little romp through the woods never hurt no one.”
Mr. Vizzini laughed. “Good. I didn't get to apologize to you before when we spoke. We were...” he chose his words carefully, “too busy speaking of the grave matter at hand.”
Andre nodded.
“I trust you delivered my message to Mr. Tarasenko and our beloved mayor?” Mr. Vizzini asked, turning back toward the television.
Andre turned toward the screen as well, the national news had gotten a hold of Holly West's interview with Rosalita and were now playing it to the nation.
“Yes boss,” Andre sighed, “And I would have called you sooner but I was getting some much needed sleep.”
Mr. Vizzini nodded, “Your insomnia again?”
“Yes sir, it's been a really bitch, pardon my french.”
Mr. Vizzini smiled, “Well we all need our rest. When one is tired, one cannot think.”
“Yes sir.”
“And I need everyone at the top of their mental capacities.”
“I agree.” Andre remarked.
The old man held up a small square device that he had in his lap. It was a gray box with a single solitary red button on the top. He held it up now and pushed it. Somewhere in the far reaches of the house a chime was heard, soft and tonal. After a few seconds, there was a small crackle of static, and a woman's voice could be heard on an un-seen speaker.
“Yes Mr. Vizzini?”
The old man cleared his throat, “Caterina, would you be a dear and bring my guest and I a scotch on the rocks please?”
“Certainly Mr. Vizzini.”
There was a click indicating the speaker went dead.
“So what did our friends have to say for themselves?” Mr. Vizzini cocked his head to one side inquisitively.
“Tarasenko looks shaken up.” Andre said.
Vizzini grunted and nodded.
“And Dodge wants another front, just like you said he would,” Andre smiled.
“And you told him that that would not be possible?” The old man cocked an eyebrow.
“Yes sir,” Andre said, “he asked me to ask you to reconsider, again, just as you said.”
The old man sighed and nodded. He closed his eyes as if wrapped in meditation.
There were footsteps and into the kitchen appeared a young, tall, beautiful red headed woman that Andre had seen before. It was the waitress from Lou Martini's club.
Tina Tomcat, Andre remembered.
She looked tired in the face, but smiled at the two men cheerfully, holding a small glass in each hand of the brown scotch. Little crushed ice floated in each glass. Her corset had been replaced by a very cliché french maid outfit, which covered her private parts and some more of her body, but not much else.
Mr. Vizzini smiled as he took his glass, “Andre, I'd like you to meet Caterina. Caterina this is my dear friend Mr. Andre.”
Tina smiled at Andre and held out his glass. He took it with a smile of his own.
“We've met before,” Andre replied.
The old man waved a wrinkled hand, “Ah I suppose so, at the Rabbit-in-Red!” Mr. Vizzini took a sip of his drink and then said, “Caterina came in late this morning after no doubt a night of considerable carousing. Mr. Andre and I were just discussing how important sleep is to the body.”
Tina turned and waved a hand back at him, “I'll sleep when I'm dead,” she said with a wink, “besides, I make a hell of a lot more at the Rabbit than I do at this place.”
Andre's eyes went wide. He stared at Mr. Vizzini nervously and took a sip of his drink. He winced. It was very strong.
Mr. Vizzini broke into laughter, which then turned into racked coughing. When he was done coughing, he wiped his eyes and said, “That's what I love about her.” He choked another gulp of his drink down. “I appreciate honesty in a woman.” He raised his glass to Tina.
Tina gave a little curtsy, and disappeared around the corner.
The two men looked back at the television. A picture of the Chumway brothers now dominated the screen. The big bold tag line at the bottom read: MANHUNT ENDS IN MAYHEM.
After a moment, Andre cleared his throat, “Sir, may I offer an opinion.”
Mr. Vizzini sipped and nodded, “Certainly. My appreciation for frankness is not specific to the female gender.”
“I worry that this may not be a good time to send a message to Dodge.” Andre looked down at his glass. The old man had a reputation, he didn't want to discover the fine line only after crossing it.
“You think I should give Mayor Dodge the money.” Vizzini said, very frank himself.
“I think it would be wise to, I think we can both agree the situation has changed.” Andre said, gesturing toward the television.
“I think for the better perhaps.” Vizzini replied. “To my knowledge, the shipment has yet to be...spoiled shall we say. There may be time and an opportunity here to...salvage it, and for that I'll need friends in high places, and for that I'll need leverage.”
“I haven't considered that,” Andre admitted, “But there is always the flip side. This place is now crawling with law enforcement at all levels, and no matter how good we are, there is always a trail, and eventually that trail leads to Tarasenko, which in turns leads to Dodge, which in turns leads to you.”
“I have considered it,” Vizzini said. He sucked the rest of the scotch down in the glass with a loud slurp.
“What was done with the van, if I may ask?”
Vizzini waved, “Oh that was easy. The First Congregational Church of Holiness and Power was just bequeathed a brand new cargo van for their congregation. Complete with title in the envelope signed off to the church from a Mr. Juan Pagan of Winchester Indiana and cash to obtain a new tag.”
Andre smiled and nodded approvingly.
“Mr. Pagan even called me this morning and told me the Pastor of the church called him and thanked him personally.”
“Praise God,” Andre lifted his glass.
“Indeed.” Vizzini took some ice in his mouth and chewed it.
“However.” Andre frowned, “If the cops do get the shipment and nab Tarasenko, do you think he'll talk?”
“Doubtful,” Vizzini responded.
“What about Dodge?” Andre asked. “I see the honorable mayor putting a finger on you at the first hint of trouble.”
“Oh please,” Vizzini laughed, “I have the ability to be on flight to the United Arab Emirates like that,” he snapped his gnarled fingers, “Robert Dodge would love to fantasize but as yet he possessed no such ability. He will go down, he will go down hard and he will go down alone.”
“Is that what you want?” Andre asked.
“Of course not. I'm going to give him the money Andre. This is an opportunity with two heads.”
“How so?”
“On one hand, this is a great opportunity to get more out of our arrangement with Dodge. The spotlight is on him now,” Vizzini gestured at the TV which was now in a commercial. Ramon Aguilar of the newly crowned World Champion Chicago Cubs was singing the praises of a Liberty Burger extra-value meal.
“He'll be desperate. Like an ant under a magnifying glass directing the light of the sun, he will have no where to go and he will be like puddy in my hands.”
Vizzini's eyes went dark. I'm beginning to see the reputation, Andre thought.
“From the other angle,” Vizzini continued, “this is a good time to teach a lesson. The mayor has to learn that he is becoming a liability for me. A liability that I can no longer stomach.”
Andre drained the last of his scotch. “I just worry the cops are going to nab the shipment before we can inact damage control.”
Vizzini smiled and patted the large man next to him on the knee. “Worry solves nothing. We will just have to wait and see what happens.”
Andre sighed, “I just wish I knew.”
I press my lips to Duff's cheek, then his jaw, then his neck, his chest, his abdomen…
He groans, his eyes tightening a moment as he stretches, his hand in my hair as my lips press just below his navel and he looks at me.
"Good morning." I say to him, giving one last kiss to his skin before he's pulling me up to peck at his lips.
"Good morning." He replies as I lay beside him, my leg swung over his waist, my cheek against his left bicep.
"Did you sleep good?" I ask him next and he nods.
"Did you?"
"Yeah." I reply, kissing his cheek again, and he grins.
"Okay, if you're gonna be all lovey, I'm gonna go brush my teeth." He goes to sit up but I stop him.
"No." I whine, keeping him to the bed with my leg.
"Viv, I probably taste like vodka and cigarettes." He complains with a chuckle.
"I don't care." I insist and he looks at me. "What? It doesn't bother me."
He shakes his head a little, brushing my hair out of my face before he kisses me again, and I push my tongue past his lips, sighing when he wraps his arm tighter around my waist.
When we pull away, I notice an abnormality in his right bicep, a wedge shaped scar, and furrow my brows a little.
He notices and looks at his arm.
"It was a water skiing accident at this lake when I was like 13. I was pulled under and the muscle was stripped from here," his fingers grazing from his elbow to his shoulder, "all the way up here. I almost drowned." He informs me, and I look at him, the thought of him drowning at age twelve is hard to think about. "I saw the light and just felt the warmth of people that had passed on that I knew...it was weird, but, like, it wasn't scary. It happened really fast." He adds.
"Are you scared to die, now?" I ask him out of curiosity and he shakes his head a little, his fingers brushing against my cheek.
"No. I'm not. After that experience I decided it's gonna be a good place I go when I die." He states and I smile.
"I can't imagine you going anywhere but some place good, Duff. You're too kind to go anywhere else." I assure him and he chuckles a little, before kissing at my hand.
"What about you?" He asks and I let out a breath.
"I'm not scared of death in the sense of where I'm going afterwards, I know where I'm going and it's no place to be scared of...it's just how I'm going to die, when I'm going to die, and the effect it will have on my loved ones. That's what scares me." I explain. "But at the same time I wouldn't want to know how I'm going to die, or when, or what happens to everybody after I go."
"Well, no, because that would be a bummer looming over you constantly." He points out.
"Exactly." I agree. "I'll go whenever God's decided my work here is done, but if he can just let me pass peacefully in my sleep, I won't mind."
"No strokes, no getting shot, no weed brownie…" he trails off starting to laugh and I try not to laugh. "...overdoses." he manages to get out through his laughter.
"It's not funny." I tell him, biting my cheek to keep from chuckling.
"Or crab infestations." He adds.
"You are so funny. Wow." I cut my eyes at him.
"Hey, look, I coulda told ya not to eat brownies from Stevie and Slash's room and not to sleep in the same bed as Stevie after a night of him hooking up with several different girls, but I thought that was common sense, Viv." He attempts to speak with a straight face, failing miserably.
"It took me years to grow hair down there, Duff, and now I look like a thirteen year old all over again, and I had to be fumigated. It's not funny." I finally laugh with him and he rubs his face that's turning red with how funny he finds it that the same night I got stoned shitless off edibles, I slept in the same bed as Steven and woke up with pubic lice.
"Vivian, c'mon, it'll grow back." He tries to make me feel better. "There wasn't that much down there to begin with, so it's not like--"
"--Shh! I didn't say that so we could have an in depth conversation about my situation down there." I tell him, my face turning red.
"Viv, baby, I've had my face down there, okay? I've been all up in your situation."
"Duff--"
"--You've been all up in my situation, too, it's nothin--"
"--Ahh!" I squeal a little, covering my ears and burying my face in my pillow.
"Hey, you came in the other night talking all types of dirty, and then last night when you were tripping on those brownies you had me blushing pretty freaking bad, and now you get all embarrassed when I'm just stating a fact: we've both had our faces all up in each others'--"
"--Okay, okay, I get it, I get it." I'm blushing so badly I feel the heat of my blood in my face.
"Alright, alright, I'll stop." He tells me.
"Thank you." I uncover my face and take a breath, snuggling closer against him.
"...I never noticed you have, like, three cute little freckles down there, though, until there was no hair covering them up." He says next.
"Duff, hush!" I put my hands over his mouth and he bursts into laughter again.
"So, what? You have freckles everywhere. It's cute, Viv." He tells me when he gets away from me and catches his breath.
"Yes, a higher risk of developing melanoma is cute." I reply sarcastically as he sits up and swings his legs over the side of the bed, about to get up. "Where are you going?" I ask him as he stands up and stretches.
"I've got rehearsal in an hour." He tells me. "Remember?"
"Oh...right." I mumble.
"C'mon, Viv, don't sound so enthused." He steps to the bathroom and turns on the shower.
"C'mere really quick." I tell him, and he sticks his head out of the bathroom.
"What is it?" He asks me as I go to the foot of the bed.
"Just come here for a second." I repeat and he does, raising his brows. "Do you have to go?" I ask him blinking up at him.
"Yes, I do, and you do too because if neither of us goes that's gonna get people to thinking." He pokes the tip of my nose.
"Okay." I roll my eyes.
He kisses me for a split second before going to take his shower.
I didn't want to go to the bands' rehearsals, I didn't want Duff to go anywhere, I just wanted the both of us to stay locked in that room together and the rest of the world to go the hell away.
He comes out in light wash, lace-up jeans, his Billy Idol tshirt, and his chain that he has around his neck with the small lock hung on it the way Sid Vicious used to wear.
He's sitting on the edge of the bed, pulling one black cowboy boot on, looking around for the other one that I stole so he can't leave.
"Viv, have you seen my other boot?" He asks me while I've got it hid under the covers, glancing at the nightstand to remind myself my crucifix is still there.
I stand up on the bed and slip it on my right foot before walking as best I can to him on the mattress before slipping my leg over his shoulder, my foot adorned by his boot resting on the top of his thigh.
He looks down at it and then up at me, speechless when he sees I'm not completely naked, wearing nothing but his boot and his cream colored cowboy hat.
I look down at him innocently, knowing exactly what I'm doing and he knows it, but he doesn't call me out on it.
He just looks at his boot, slowly pulling it off my foot before pressing his lips to my knee before he turns to completely face me, kissing at my inner, lower thigh, and inching higher.
Right before he can reach his target I'm plopping to my knees on the mattress, his hat nearly falling off of me, making me giggle as my hand flies up to keep it in place for a second, before he's leaning down to kiss me again, his hand grabbing at my bare ass, using that as leverage to pull me completely against him.
I feel him through his jeans and have to rub my thighs together, eager for him to be in me, before I'm pushing at his chest, causing him to fall back on his back with a little laugh as I crawl over him, the junction of my thighs resting on the tent in his jeans, making him curse under his breath when I lean forward and kiss him, rocking my hips, delicious friction causing a hunger to snake up through my core.
"I, uh, see the use of the hat now." He gets out through little breaths as I grind against him again, my teeth teasingly pulling at his bottom lip.
"Mhm." I grin, my fingers beginning to untie the string of his pants.
"Before you do that," he starts and I raise my brows, resisting the urge to moan when his finger tips run up and down my spine before giving my thighs a nice squeeze. "I was wondering if you could ride something else first…" he suggests and I'm confused for a millisecond before he slyly runs his tongue along his bottom lip. "...you know, just to get good and broken in, first." He adds and I bite my lip, leaning down and kissing him, again, my tongue dancing with his.
"I will ride anything you want me to." I reply, my lips brushing against his.
Duff was slowly becoming accustom to the fact that I wasn't sweet innocent vanilla Vivian he had suspected I was...although I'm not sure how the hell he thought Nikki survived sex with me all those years if I didn't adapt to or like the same stuff he did, and Nikki was (and still is) into some weird, nasty, debauched shit, so learning to get into what Duff was in to was a lot easier to do than Duff trying to get in to what I was in to.
"Ah!" I giggle out with a moan laced around it, my thighs tensing as Duff's tongue continues to lap against my clit, holding me to his mouth with his hands at my hips as I can't help but grind in rhythm with his tongue, my hands palming at my chest, adding to the heat spreading in my core. "Duff, tha--oh fuck." I gasp out when he softly nips at the sensitive bud, and I can feel his smile at the sound of my pleasure. "That feels so good." I assure him, my head leaned back, my hands bracing on his chest that's beginning to have a thin sheen of sweat over it and I can't help but to lean down, my tongue running across his skin for a moment before I'm reaching for his cock, nearly drooling at the beading precum.
I run my tongue across the slit of his tip and he jumps in his skin, not expecting it, making me chuckle to myself before he's sliding two fingers into me, my eyes rolling back at the combination of him finger fucking me while eating me out and I bite my tongue to keep from calling him "daddy" because I remember it freaking him out the other night when I was stoned and called him that.
I moan when I wrap my lips around him and slowly bob my head up and down, enjoying the feeling of him tensing up and trying to keep concentrated in pleasuring me.
My tongue snakes against his length with each thrust, my tongue savoring every bit of his taste because he sure as fuck is savoring every bit of mine.
He nearly jumps again when my hand gently massages his balls, making him moan into me.
I take him out of my mouth, keeping my other hand at his base, jacking him off while I catch my breath before I'm spitting on him, taking him back into my mouth, picking up my pace.
His grip on my hips tightens when I deep throat him, trying to relax to keep from gagging, but I end up doing it anyway, and I hear him curse under his breath.
I try one more time and manage to get his entire shaft down my throat to the hilt without gagging, and his hand comes down onto my ass cheek, hard, making me cry out around him as he starts hammering his fingers into me, the wet, sloppy sounds of my sex being played with filling the room and I catch my breath when I pull him out of my mouth, moving my hand up and down his cock at the same speed he's moving his fingers into me.
My pussy tightens around his fingers while his tongue swipes across my clit a few more times before my cum is wetting at his mouth as "Duff" cracks through my lips while I'm gasping for breath.
He lets out a hum as he drinks it all in, swiping his tongue from my cunt to my clit, making sure none of it goes to waste.
When he's done, he's pushing at my waist, moving me off of him.
I roll onto my back, coming down from my high, my chest heaving with heavy breaths as he moves to hover above me, his pure, genuine smile nearly melting my heart.
I grin at him, leaning up and kissing him as he runs his hand down my side and reaches between us to align himself with my entrance.
We watch each other as he slowly pushes into me, the feeling of him filling me as much as he can causing my toes to curl, and my legs to wrap around his hips.
"Are...Are you okay?" He asks me, his forehead against mine and I lick my lips and nod.
"Yeah." I tell him. "Are you?"
"Yeah." He replies.
"Are you gonna move or…?" I ask next and he takes a nervous breath.
"Duff, I'm fine, I promise." I assure him.
"I know you are but--" I cut him off, pulling his lips to mine, my tongue moving with his as I tighten my legs around him, causing him to move against my cervix, making the both of us let out moans.
He pulls out of me before pushing back in, slowly, taking a few more thrusts before he picks up his pace, taking my moans and whimpers as cues that he's doing good.
"Harder." I say in his ear, and he looks at me for a second. "You're not gonna hurt me, baby."
He nervously licks his lips before pushing into me more frantically, his prick being forced into me to the hilt, which sends a deliciously painful shock through me, causing me to arch underneath him, my nails clawing down his back, making him groan out, only resulting in him going harder into me.
"It feels so good." I say, whimpering, my fingers in his blonde hair as his tongue and lips are on the skin of my neck.
"You feel so good." He tells me and I bite my lip.
"Can you do something for me?" I ask him, trying to concentrate on my words as he fucks me, the eagerness on his face to please me making me confident that he'll play into my suggestion.
"Yeah?" He slows down some, purposefully rooting himself balls deep in me, and I have to keep my eyes from fucking crossing.
I take his hand and put it around my neck, my hand closing over his fingers to manually tighten them around my throat.
"You're not gonna hurt me." I assure him, seeing his hesitant facial expression. "Even though I wouldn't be mad if you did." I add, moving my hand from his, and he slowly squeezes at my throat little by little, until it's a comfortable pressure, not as extreme as Nikki's, but enough to make me feel like I'm being completely dominated.
"So wet." He says, and I can already feel a puddle forming under me.
I hum, taking my index and middle fingers and reaching down, gathering some of my slick juices, holding them to his lips and he doesn't slow his movements as he sucks my fingers into his mouth, cleaning them off, before he leans down and kisses me, allowing me to taste myself on his tongue.
"Duff." I say, my stomach knotting up, his hand around my throat, his pounding into me, his eyes watching every moment of my oncoming orgasm, welcoming the the pressure building up before it's releasing, my walls contracting around him.
"Oh, jesus, Viv." He groans out, and I smile, kissing him, the taste of vodka and cigarettes on his tongue, but I don't care.
I can feel that he's about to finish, too, and when he's about to pull out, I'm mustering up the energy to flip us over.
"Just come in me." I say, pressing a small kiss to his lips, moving my hips down so he goes to the hilt in me.
He lets out a moan when I lick up his neck as he unloads into me, a soft hum slipping past my lips at the feeling.
I take deep breaths and roll off of him when he's finished, pulling the covers up to my chest as he glances at me, trying to catch his breath.
"We really gotta start using condoms or something, Viv." He tells me, his knuckle brushing against my cheek before he turns on his side to face me.
"Won't make a difference." I let out before I can think about it, and he furrows his brows.
"If you get knocked up, it will." He replies.
I don't answer, sitting up and going to the bathroom to shower off.
He follows right behind me, and when we're done, we're coming back into the room to the sound of the phone ringing off the hook.
"Hello?" I answer it without a thought, realizing this isn't my room.
If it would have been anyone other than one of the members of Guns, or Fred, I would have been screwed.
"Hey, um, not to be rude or anything, Viv, but um, where the fuck is Duff at?" Slash asks me and I remember their fucking rehearsal.
I look at the clock and see we're an hour and a half late for it.
"Holy shit." I say.
"And Doc's running around trying to find you, too…" he adds as Duff quickly gets his clothes back on.
"Just stall, okay? We're coming--and don't mention that me and him are with each other right now." I plead.
"I won't, but Duff's gonna get his ass chewed: Axl's fucking pissed." He informs me.
"It wasn't Duff's fault, tell Axl he can get on to me all he wants, but leave Duff out of it. We'll be there in a few minutes. Bye."
"Bye."
We hang up and I rush to put clothes on, Duff and I not saying a word to each other as we finish getting ready--but I can tell he's pissed. At me or himself is to be determined.
One of the most admirable traits Duff possesses is the fact that music is so important to him, he made it a standard that he'd never allow anything to interfere with his effort put forth towards his responsibility in bands he's a part of.
He was never late to a rehearsal unless there was a good reason, and if he was going to be late he called ahead, he was never too drunk or high to play at a show...he never put anything else he had going on before his band.
Guns N' Roses, even back when he was drinking and drugging heavily, was no exception. He might not have remembered a bit of the shows played at the peak of his addiction, but he played them well enough that nobody could hear him and say, 'he's really out of it'. The closest he ever got to playing messy on stage was during the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley, when he was so messed up that when artists gathered to sing "We Are the Champions", he couldn't walk, so Elton John had to practically drag him up on stage to the 50 person chorus line and he took full advantage of the shoulders on either side of him to keep himself upright while Liza Minnelli sung lead.
That was possibly the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of deciding maybe Monroe didn't need to witness his father spiraling as much as he had been.
He had plenty of his own issues that were at risk of getting before the band, but women getting in the way of his duty to his band? Never happened.
Except on the tour with Mötley Crüe, and that was what caused Axl and the guys to realize we weren't just hooking up if Duff was willing to let me get in the way of his commitment to the band.
"Where the fuck have you been?" Axl snaps at Duff as he steps to the stage and I take a seat in one of the audience chairs, Sparkie glancing between Duff and I from where he's at standing up, his eyes cut slightly, while Tansy's asleep in the chair closest to him.
"Axl, I know, man, okay?" Duff replies, knowing he's fucked up.
"We're talking about this later, don't fucking think this is over." He warns him before glaring at me.
Fred makes a beeline for me, his brows raised.
"What the hell, Viv?" He asks me under his breath.
"Are the gu--" he cuts me short.
"--Nikki's so fucked he doesn't even realize we're running behind and Tommy and Vince are screwing around with some chicks they picked up on the way over here, Mick's drinking…" he trails off, disappointment all over his features.
"I know, Fred, I know I messed up."
"You can't possibly be serious about carrying on with him on this tour without telling anybody." He refers to Duff and I let out a breath.
"I can't tell Nikki or he'll be pissed and might kick the guys off the tour." I say.
"So you're just gonna screw someone else without thinking to tell him?"
"He did it to me." I point out.
"If he finds out from anyone else--"
"--Which he won't."
"But if he does, Vivian, I don't want him to take that out on you." He explains.
"He won't find out, okay?" I promise him. "We'll be more careful, Fred."
He lets out a breath and relents.
"Fine, Viv. Fine."
The moment Guns finishes up and let's Mötley Crüe take over, I see what Fred means about Nikki.
His eyes are completely void, his shell being taken over by heroin, only able to play through muscle memory.
He's so fucked up.
Apparently I'm not being subtle, and he catches me looking at him, completely stopping his playing altogether in the middle of "All In The Name Of…"
"The fuck are you staring at?" he snaps at me.
"Nothing." I mumble, standing up to walk backstage.
I don't have the energy to argue with him and if he spends what's left of his energy arguing with me, he'll pass out.
When I get backstage, I hear Axl's muffled voice in what's set to be their dressing room...and I realize he and Duff and the guys are in there.
I press my ear to the door out of curiosity, but I end up regretting it as I hear Axl bark out:
"She's a fucking problem!"
"I know I held everybody up but it's not her fault, it's on me." Duff explains.
"If anybody was paying enough attention to realize you two had to have been off together, they can tell somebody and we're fucked, Duff, do you fucking realize that? And if they kick us off this tour and talk shit to the press it's gonna take us longer to get to our goal and you're gonna be responsible for letting a piece of ass get in the band's way." Axl states.
"I know." Duff replies, not arguing. He sounds too embarrassed and disappointed to argue.
"And if this happens again, I'll tell Doc so he'll keep a tighter leash on her so she won't get herself or you into anymore fucking trouble on this tour." It's his final promise, and I hear him stepping to the door, making me scramble to hide behind the corner of the wall as he snatches the door open and stomps off in the other direction.
Duff being late for that rehearsal kickstarted Axl's personal vendetta against me that started small but grew when Steven was kicked out the band and I raised hell over it. Then got bigger when Tansy relapsed in 1990 due to the stress of Guns N' Roses beginning to implode and Axl's ego getting bigger than God--especially to her in particular--and I told him it was his fault. Then even more when he found out I was the one that suggested suing the band to Steven's mother and came to our house in the middle of the night with a fucking shot gun which didn't scare me because I'd been shot before and was perfectly fine so if that cocky bastard wanted to shoot me again, in front of my fucking kids and be an asshole, then so be it, but it really pissed Nikki off. Then our feud finally came to a head in 1993, when Slash and Duff were Shanghaied into signing a contract relieving the name "Guns N' Roses" to Axl, and solely to Axl, if something were to happen to either of them--quitting, fired, or "death" (although the contract said nothing about death, their manager just used it as a cover up when confronted by Duff over it.)
Their share of the band remained the same, meaning what Duff was leaving to me and Monroe upon his death in terms of equities and royalties wouldn't be touched, but I was beginning to realize it wouldn't have been much longer before Axl tried to take that, too, just like he had fucking done to Steven. So when Duff explained what had been done, I got on a plane and flew to their next show just to kick Axl's ass once again because Duff and Slash weren't confrontational enough to do it, they just tried to keep the peace as much as they could, but Axl wasn't my fucking lead singer and my kids were too young to know what exactly was going on.
I had nothing to lose.
He sued--when I kicked him so hard the heel of my stiletto went right through his calf--and ended up with $100,000.
$100,000 didn't sting me or Nikki as hard as a couple million must've stung him when Steven won his lawsuit against the band, and the prick deserved it.
They all did in that situation.
After being sued, though, Nikki wouldn't let me be around him anymore.
If Tansy wanted to hang out, I couldn't go to their house, and I couldn't take Monroe out to see his dad unless they were off the road or there was a guarantee I would be kept separated from Axl at all times.
I guess I really ended up being a "problem" to Axl, after all.
Duff goes out that night, leaving some money for me to get room service but not saying a word to me before he leaves, resulting in me going to my room incase someone tries to come find me and isn't suspicious as to why I'm in Duff's room.
I'm getting out of my shower after washing my hair when a knock on my door sounds, making me believe it's the room service I ordered…
I put on my robe and open the door, revealing Sparkie.
My face falls and I'm about to slam the door shut, but he stops it, stepping inside, shutting the door behind him.
"What the hell do you want?" I ask, crossing my arms and he shrugs.
"Just to talk." He tells me, smirking. "Ya know, catch up on each other, I feel like we aren't as close as we need to be." He adds and I raise a brow.
"Because I don't want to be close to you." I state.
"Well, you're pretty close to Duff with no issue." He voices and my heart nearly stops. "I figured you'd be keeping his bed warm while he's out."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I tell him.
"You two are practically joined at the hip, you were both late for rehearsal, you share a room...just because none of the other guys notice it, doesn't mean I don't." He adds and I roll my jaw. "I already caught you, now we just need to talk about what you're going to do for me, to help remind me not to let it slip to Nikki…" he takes a step closer to me and I back away until my back is against the wall, and he takes advantage of it, his hand going over my mouth before I can yell, causing a line of shock to roll up my spine as he stares down at me, evilly. "I know one thing you can do." He goes on, his free hand teasing at the belt of my robe, before pulling it out of its tie, opening it.
Tears of anger swell in my eyes as I try to shake off the initial shock so I can fight back.
"Why don't you show me exactly what was so good about you, that it made Nikki want to marry you, and is making Duff put his own band aside for you?"
He opens the robe a little more, eyeing my chest, and before he can touch me, a knock on the door and "room service" sounds on the other side of the door.
I use it as an opportunity to get away from him as he lets out an angry sigh for being interrupted before I open the door.
My food is delivered and I thank the woman who brought it up, grabbing some cash that Duff had left for me for food, from my dresser, and tipping her.
"Thank you." She tells me and I make a point to motion for Sparkie to leave, in front of her, that way if he refused there was a witness.
He doesn't take any chances, giving me a sarcastic smile, stepping to the door, stopping in front of me and getting in my ear and threatening me.
I tried to sleep that night but the eminent risk of Nikki finding out about Duff and I was starting to eat at me.
With Nikki as bad off as he was, I was scared he wouldn't have been able to handle it, and our relationship was already in shambles, I didn't need him to have more reasons to scream my head off.
(CLANDESTINE CHAPTER TWO)
Tumblr media
𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒚
Rhythmically mellifluous waves of notes echoes after bouncing back from anile theatre's walls, the trill getting softer the more I firmly place my chin over the tail piece.
Eye lids slip shutting at the flurries of heart chasing the last cadences, pinky shivering as the middle and ring finger pushes the string down while the bow touches through the strings simultaneously producing the last chords.
Feels like a voyage over a baby leaf that's leading me through a pallid wind.
My chest heaving vigorously and lifting my jaw from the violin my head snapped in the direction of loud claps flowing. After a hectic performance the seats went empty and instead of going backstage I tried to play a melody for myself.
I was so lost finding my way through strings that didn't even noticed when Azi came. He's the owner of this old hideously beautiful theatre, his love for arts has this place still running without compliance knowing else it would have left baren just like the other popular theatres they shut years ago.
"Well done Harry, people seemed to love your performance last night and today." A smile quenching from my inners causing the bottom lip to tuck in between my teeth.
A feeling like no other spiralling around my ribcages, this's all I ever wanted.
"They were properly soused into your magic and we know what that means, shit loads of money." I remained quite putting my violin and bow aside while he spoke with a tobacco cigar rolled in between his lips.
I never wanted to play for money but nor do I've problem if we're getting it because half of the people in theater needs it. They deserve it.
It's not their fault they've to die in return of loving the devotedness that's gifted naturally.
Their talent and adroitness is the only thing keeping them in this world even though they've to remain veiled from the ordinary people.
Azi drags the stash of money on the table in my direction causing me to shake my head in refusal, "you know that I don't need this money. Save it for the renovation of theatre before we all get buried deep under it." He laughs lungs rumbling from his old age.
For God's sake the ceilings are about to cripple and chandelier might bonk my head one day.
"Or' maybe double pay our ballerina she was prepossesing last night." The twitch of his wrinkles at the corners of eyes smoothed down sadly and he sighed loudly piercing a hole in my stomach.
Anticipation wrapped around my head shoving me into the sea of worry where I'm finding it difficult to process, "what happened-" my words choking in my windpipes when he cuts me off revealing the horror information.
"She was abducted last night, her body was found shot near the suburb of where she lives." Everything's feeling claustrophobic around me and I keep on gawking him in astonished dread.
She was one hell of the great dancers, the only ballerina of our theatre. She didn't not deserved this; fuck it nobody does. I refuse to believe.
Fuck this government. Fuck this stupid world.
Gripping my hair from roots I looked him straight in the eyes, "Tell me if her family needs any help." Then the realization dawned upon me like a heavy dust she never had a family. This theatre, her skills were her only family.
"Harry my boy listen I know you'll take it as a hard toll but believe me we can't do anything for what has happened, go home have a rest you've a performance in the coming month." I was taken aback when he hugged me assuring me like a father would do, not utterly sure how to respond to interactions like these I raised my hands several times only to let them fall back.
Memories of her on tips dancing beautifully on the stage displaying infront of me as I stored my violin into case putting it aside.
We weren't close. But the few times we had exchange of words in the middle of lunch breaks and her full concentration on my foolish jokes was worth than any friendships I ever had; which I unfortunately never had.
Without even noticing the whispers let out of my chest, "I'll miss ya." Never thought you could yearn to have a single glimpse of people last time even though they were barely in your life.
I didn't changed into comfortable clothes letting the flashy suit stick to my skin, so the weigh of it will keep on making me realize that the world has no place for us.
A sacrifice for living praise.
The alley outside's pitch dark with the sun roguishly trying to dawn from the horizon.
Azi Theatre's situated at the most lifeless spot in the city possible, you've to walk through several hidden allies to reach there.
While, walking past the streets and avoiding to ruin my trousers by splashing my boots into puddle my brain havoced with unnecessary thoughts.
Thousand of faces with erastz beauty passing in mili seconds on these vast fulgurant billboards their mocks appearing like arrows to my already wounded guts; though it's all in my head it's still crawling under my skin.
A peek of cognisance from the day she made me ate her red velvet muffins dizzied around in my mind painting sorrow over me.
Even though I protested with my nonsical excuses she won ending up handing me one of her perfectly shaped muffin on my palm with a huge grin.
Just like that alot of people's smiles in my life petered out in the lost pocket of my mind.
In the littlest remembrance of her I made route to the small bakery situated two blocks away from the building I live in. The city's sleeping the only thing's shop's boards blinking and hazy bakeries showing through the thick fog.
It's open twenty four hours seven. The sky tweeked with ribbons of brume and the digital clock showed 5:00 sharp in the early dawn the large glass windows fogy from weather. The counter lady's wrapped into a comfy blanket trying not to fall asleep.
The bell chimed startling the cute old lady when I stepped inside passing by the wooden counter, "uhh..hi sorry to disturb. I'll look in myself." She nodded slumping back into her seat soon about to knock off.
Strolling in between the squeezy aisles my eyes roamed over empty refrigerators ceasing to the one at the far corner.
There in the transparent domed box are four cherry-red muffins attracting every dull view of bakery towards themselves. They're perfectly shaped and snow-flaked into red coconut shudders but failed to water my mouth.
I've no appetite to eat them. Her's used to be baked into undescribeable funny shapes but atleast I had a company while chomping them in one bite.
A reel of same memory binging and before it could permanently imprint in my brain I cleared my throat raising my pointy finger as a habit, "I'll have these!"
We said in a unison. Hold on. We? Am I that exhausted that I've started to hallucinate.
My head snapshoting towards the person from whom the feminine voice billowed in the dense warm air.
Resplendent. Florid and kaleidoscopic were the first words that striked my confused mind when my vision raked from the faux suede ankle boots richer in pigment than the red velvet muffins resting inside the refrigerator; then straight towards to meet their eyes.
Her gaze projecting warmth in this wimtertide and out of curiosity I met her eyes to recognize their colour.
Golden syrup. They're like the glassed honey pool that has squeezed the bee in the syrup lake as if it's greed for honey became it's trap, hazel speckles caged inside the rim of irises flickering with her slightest of eye movement.
We both keeps on looking at eachother the morning peace surrounding us too unsure how to break the spell.
She's wearing a cerise peach long trench wool coat a sweet rose enamel pin attached to where her heart is. Her nose and ears pink from the cold outside, but her lips plump from under the translucent violaceous bubble gum coloured gloss.
Burnette tresses of hair loose till her covered shoulders, the peach tealed beanie intact on her head.
The women standing infront of me is in abstract contrast to the pastels of the bakery and the luster of gray buildings out of these bakery walls.
The pastelish hues still prominent in her and crimson peaked up my neck at the fact that she caught me intriguing her by my peer.
Boldly her eyes remained fixated at my suit that's very exotic for strolling into a bakery. She might think so I'm a bellend idiot.
The cashier lady came to us yawning placing her hands on her hips done with two strangers just looking at eachother but she doesn't know that both of them are inquisitive of what the other is wearing this early where anybody's barely awake.
"We've the only box, decide it quick kiddos that who'll get it." The lady yawned for fiftieth time taking the box of muffins out of refrigerator.
"I came here first and I was the first one to ask." I frowned for an obvious reason and the lady was about to give me the box when a honeyed voice again melted in my ears.
Now I really wanna hear her talk for a long time, "but I pointed at it first!" She whines softly jutting her lower lip.
"But vocalisation matters the most." I quipped arching my brow at her and she glared me but her beatific personality radiating naturally from her is breaking the bitter demeanour she's trying to pull towards me.
"Kay. We can leave it upto the rock, paper and siscorss." She smirks mishveously raising her brows several times in a challenge.
Her tongue poking out from her glossy lips with her one leg straight and other bended perpendicular she placed her on foot over another balancing with only one leg like a flamingo.
The cute small lady groaned, "are you really gonna do this?" Our eyes widening and chuckles spiraling when we once again we said 'yep.' In unison.
She was ready to launch her hand in a paper and mine was stone so I quickly interrupted looking down at her legs, "why are you standin' like a swan?" Her eyes slitting into a squint and lips shrinking into a pout.
Tilting her chin towards me and standing in the same position as before just the difference now's that her hands are on her hips to convey the offend.
She ruched her lower lip inside her mouth to stop from giving a smile, so she's a buoyant person...
"Because maybe I am?" And she doesn't have simple answers to straight questions. Our fists still raised into air and the cashier lady hissed this time ready to throw hands.
"You kids are worse than my grandchildren!" She gasped comically at the words of short lady.
"That's very mean of you..." I'm clearly surprised that she isn't one bit influenced by lady's sharpness instead she's further engaging in a conversation that will result in the loss of time for all of us. "...and your daughter wouldn't be very happy to know."
"Kay. Back to where we left." She quickly turned her head towards me her complete concentration struck over me making my stomach go fluttery and funny.
"Uhm..yes- rock, paper, siscorss!" I never thought I'd play a game with some stranger who's looking so cozy and comfy in the early dew, for some muffins in the middle of empty bakery when I scarcely interact with people.
"Yes! I won." I punched the air when my siscorss cut her paper and her jaw went slack for a moment.
What the fuck you're doing Styles!?
Out of shyness and awkwardness I abruptly combed back my curls rubbing my hand down the nape of my neck not meeting her eyes.
The lady handed me the box with a boring expression while Hers stayed ticked to it, "anyway I don't even like red-velvet muffins." Yeah. Grapes are sour when fox can't get it.
She was about to walk away near to step out of shop. I want to call her but don't know her name; so out of sheer rampage I blurted out the only word that the department of my brain could manage at the time.
"Swan!" She halted in her tracks torso turning and with her chin atop of her shoulder she looked back at me smiling coyly.
"Yes. Sparkly?" She's probably calling me that because of my glittery black suit and I'm sure my ribcages did something at the name. Getting made fun of doesn't sound very good; but it is at the time.
Today's an odd day.
"Um..we can share if you want to?" Her grin etching to the corner of her lips and she jumped excitedly clasping her hands together,"Really!?"
A timid smile crawling over my features watching her get delighted at the littlest of fact. "Yes. There are two pair of muffins we both can have one pair if you like to?" I told her and she bobs her head while going towards the cash counter, patting the counter with a huge grin indicating me to put the box down.
"Your total's $8.25." We both payed half of the total price and I shoved my hands into my trouser's pockets scrutinizing my surrounding while the annoyed cashier lady packed two muffins separately for one of us.
And she rummaged through her wallet which has alot of ebullient key-chains hanging from it, who's this girl?
Why I've never seen her here before? and I've never seen a person this cheerful in the crowd of prosaic people of city.
The lady handed us our respective delights with a roll of eyes and I was the first one to take mine and quickly sprinted out of there, because I didn't know what else to do.
A whiff of pungent vanilla, mulberry pomegranate sprouting with cocoa made it's way in my nostrils when I passed beside her. Her fragrance's divergent.
You know a scent that addictively clouds your senses but it's so rare you never get to smell it again; but if out of nowhere you get to it brings back nostalgia for no reason, she smelled like that.
When I glanced back the two women were still watching my weirdness in amusement through the glass windows of bakery.
It appeared like her rose enamel pin winked at me from far.
Mick was tangled up into cassette tapes when I stepped inside my flat, the tiny bugger he is jumped atop me straddling me to the floor.
"You're lookin' like a disco ball. No need to be so proud." Instead he gave a long slicky lick to my cheek woofing at me.
He's being too cheeky but it wouldn't last long when I'll take him for a checkup. He fucking envy his doc. I'm already sensing sympathy seeking whining from him, happens every year.
Shaking my head I grunted skiding from underneath him but he's fast and climbed up in my lap while I struggled to open the box.
The minute red hilly muffins were infront of me it reminded me of honey the ooze of golden, treacle eyes. Her eyes.
Shit. It's getting hard to get rid of her delicate image that's playing like an aesthetic reel in the back of my mind.
I was jerked into reality when Mick lurched greedily eating the delcious muffin from my hand in one bite, leaving his slickness at the tip of my fingers. Before he could attack my muffin too I quickly grabbed it.
"Mick you wouldn't believe what happened today!?" I spoke in an animated voice scratching his sweet spot under his ear my mouth full of red coconut and he looked up at me with his sick puppy eyes.
"We wouldn't have been able to eat these if I wouldn't have won from...." I stuttered pondering over the fact that the nameless peachy coat girl's too stubborn and wouldn't leave my fuzzy thoughts alone, "...from swan."
Mick just barked at me going to his sleeping pillow and I practically rubbed my eyes with the heels of my palms to bring myself to some consciousness from that bloody bakery fantasy.
_
When the proper morning hit I made myself breakfast and the longer I stared it the more it impeded my appetite.
With one hand offering Mick treats to deceive him into the idea that I'll take him to the park for a walk which instead will end up in a clinic's room and other hand diligent in searching word puzzles over the newspaper my jaw worked to chew the sandwich.
Throwing a sweater over my head and slipping into white washed jeans quickly I got ready to take Mick with me.
I had to scoop Mick up in my arms when he sprawled onto footpath of veterinary clinic the second he realized what was about to happen.
The kid leaning against the wall giggled loudly watching me practically drag my dog across the floor because he's too socially akward, fucking wow.
The waiting area's already full of pupils alongside their pets, someone stood up from the last bench and taking the advantage of opportunity I strided towards it sitting at it's edge.
Fifteen minutes passed since I've been caressing and comforting my scared bud, tucking his crown under my chin to make him at rest.
There's loud raucous noise when the elevator doors to the floor we're at opened wide gaining everyone's attention and when the person in tizzy strided inside the corridor I had to look at her twice.
What the fuck she's doing here? She never owned a pet and the one for whom she'll get this worried about.
Lyida's exactly same, her eyes bright as always and she has become more striking from when she was with me.
But she's not mine now, she never was.
She lurched over the receptionist with the box in her hand and distress of having to meet her eyes creeped inside me. The girl beside me threw daggers at me when I stood up hastily causing the whole bench to shake. I apologised for the disturbance.
My hands fumbled with the knob of nearest door right beside me and I had to shush Mick sternly when he kept on whining.
Heavy puff of breaths escaping my lungs when I stumbled inside some empty doctor's room shutting the door behind me, back meeting against the wooden plank of door, cold sweat breaking under the nape of my neck and I blinked several times taking in my surrounding.
I'm a weak son of a bitch.
It's fuckin' gruelling to be in her presence. It's hellish to meet her sympathetic gaze for me and I'm a bastard who's pathetic as hell.
I have to be away, I've to go right now. Trotting towards the large window panes I uncliped them stepping outside the shared balcony of room.
There's a drain pipe so I can climb it down to the ground and get the hell away from here.
Maybe, Mick was right it was a bad day and idea to come here.
Adjusting Mick inside my armpit I threw my one leg over the rail and then the second, my breath wavering as I gripped the rail tighter taking baby steps towards the plastic pipe.
The smack of air stinging my eyes while the cars are being parked infront of me at the parking lot.
A delucet voice clamoured from inside startling me to death and Mick barked lowly in reaction, "Whoops! Sorry to interrupt your suicidal mission." I turned my head steadily to see who's it even though I can comprehend the sherbet similarity.
Her voice has melted like a hot maroon stamp into my ears since the dawn hour and with the corner of my eyes I watched her leaning against the stretcher.
"But let me tell you Sparkly this height would cause you nothing but two broken ribs, one fractured thigh and you might loose your brain memory. No more than that." I gawked her appalled while she remained peacific arms folded infront of her chest, into different cardinal clothes now.
Again a replete splitness to what every other person's wearing outside.
Even though my intentions are nothing like that but saying this to someone who's about to take their life doesn't seem very pleasing.
I was about to speak something into my defence that she misinterpreted things but she cut me off popping her chewing gum and capturing the ropes of sticked bubble around her lips with her teeth.
Fuck.
Lost in a Dream World
Part 8: past the kingdom walls
You quickly found that this Shoji was exactly like your world's Shoji, kind but extremely quiet. You gave up on small talk about 10 minutes into your long walk and there was an uncomfortable silence ever since. The Edgelands was composed entirely of jagged lava rocks, the ground was always rumbling, and it was terribly hot. Shoji was right, it was hell. Every once and awhile there was a huge gust of wind from nowhere and Shoji would order you to hid under him. He'd wrap his arms around you like a protective shield and get close to the ground. The ground was so hot it burned your exposed skin, but Shoji held you down until the wind subsided.
"This is land of dragons" he explained after the third time "We're trespassing and they know we're here"
'Dragons?' You felt scared and giddy at the same time. This world was unbelievable, no one at home would take you seriously when you told then there were dragons here. You frowned thinking about home. Shoji decided it was time to take a rest and you passively agreed, grabbing one of the heavier packs Todoroki had given Shoji and opening it. You blinked as you looked down at the pile of gold inside the bag, lifting a piece to inspect more closely. "This is what we've been carrying? What the hell?"
One of Shoji's hands slapped over his mouth and he shushed you harshly. "Too loud (Y/n)! Put that away it's dangerous!"
The wind started up again stronger than before and you yelped as Shoji threw you into his back and started running. You turned and saw a huge silver dragon flying after you. A scream escaped your lips and a hand was slapped over your mouth again. "This isn't the time!" Shoji hissed, lunging to the side as blue flames scorched the land you had just been standing on. 'I'm gonna die' you thought, looking back at the dragon with wide terrified eyes. "Throw something at it!" Shoji commanded and you threw the gold bar that was still in your hand.
Surprisingly the dragon hesitated at the sight of the shiny metal. You let out a cautious breath and Shoji slowed his pace to a jog. You continued in silence and Shoji set you down after a while. The two of you walked side by side when the path was wide enough. The heat was making you dizzy and your body was drenched in sweat. Was it getting hotter? You glanced up and see a shadow scaling the rock face above you, too small to be a dragon. It looks like a person. You nudge Shoji "I think there's a person."
Shoji tenses and uses his extra arms to scan the jagged rock face. Your daggers are pushed in your hands and you both slow your pace. "Don't be fooled" he hisses at you "Some dragons can shape shift."
You swallow loudly and push forward with caution, trying your best not to hyperventilate. It was so hot, you felt like you were melting. The sun was going down in the sky, but the air didn't get any cooler. Shoji notices you struggling and slows down so you can rest.
"We're almost at the edge" Shoji stated taking your bag from you and handing you a canteen. You stare at your feet, chewing your bottom lip uncomfortably. You missed Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida. You wished they were here to talk to you. It wouldn't be so awkward if Shoji would just talk to you.
"Can you tell me about this world?" You said after a long drink of warm water.
Shoji paused for so long you thought he was going to ignore your question. "I guess I'll start from the beginning..."
Shoji explained how in the beginnging both kingdoms were united as one. Then suddenly the dragons appeared and brought magic with them. The magic attracted dangerous creatures like the goblins and society started to crumble. Some humans were able to harness the power of the magic, other were transformed into different creatures when they came into contact with a vein of magic (like Shoji had, you wondered what he looked like before). There was a great war between magic users and non magic users and the Edgelands was the battle field. The war stretched on for years until the dragons stepped in, making the Edgelands their home and not allowing the warring sides to cross over.
"There's been peace after that" Shoji finished he leaned against a large boulder and sighed. " the merchant's path is the only place magic and non magic users can mix, but they don't let you cross. There's a barrier. Here's the only weak spot."
He used three hands to gesture ahead. There was a huge ravine with floating boulders in between. You got as close to the edge as you dared and looked over the side, you couldn't see the bottom. Your stomach churned. You glanced back at Shoji and saw he was starting to head back the way you came. "Whoa, wait a minute!" You rushed after him and grabbed his shirt. "I thought you were supposed to take me to the other kingdom!"
"This is as far as I go" he responded, patting your head and making you blush. "The Kingdom of magic is on the other side of the ravine."
You felt sick to your stomach. Shoji pull away from you and disappeared into the edgelands. You looked over the edge of the ravine again and then at the rocks floating above. There were several layers of boulders, if you fell off one you might get lucky and land on another. You weren't sure what to do. You opened your pack to grab some food and groaned, face palming as you looked at the mound of gold. You couldn't eat gold and without Shoji you couldn't find your way back to the Todoroki kingdom.
"Heeeeeyyyy!" A voice called from the other side of the ravine.
You looked up surprised searching for the source of the voice.
"Over here! What are you doing over there?" A pink skinned girl yelled, waving her arms over her head.
"I'm stuck!" You call back "Can you help me?"
The girl laughs and makes her way over to you, jumping effortlessly from boulder to boulder. It takes her only a few minutes to reach you. "Come on!" Mina smiles "I have someone waiting for me so we have to hurry! Plus it's not safe outside the barrier."
She holds your hand as she leads you over the dangerous ravine. The floating boulders are much more stable than you thought they would be and closer together. Mina chartered the whole way across, a nice change of pace from the awkward silences you experienced before. You try to explain your situation to her, but she just laughs. Your phone had been dead for hours, so you didn't have any proof this time. It didn't seem to matter much to Mina, she seemed glad to help out anyway. Even when you made it to the other side of the ravine Mine held your hand tightly. She lead you towards the towering walls of the kingdom chatting away.
Once inside the walls you audibly gasped. The city was full of people and overlooked the ocean, completely different from the forest you had been in days before. Mina pulled you through the crowd, weaving through people at a fast pace. She lead you through the market square where booths were selling all sorts of strange objects, animals, and... People. You made eye contact with a young boy and guilt bubbled up in your throat. The pink skinned girl didn't stop, she pulled you into a back street and knocked on a wall. You jumped when a hand reach through and pulled you through.
"Mina you can't keep doing this! You're going to get caught!"
"Kaminari?" You ask reaching you hands out in the dark.
A candle was lit and revealed blonde boy with a black lighting bolt marked in his hair. His eyes were wide with surprise and Mina giggled. "They says they're from a different world with copies of us in it!" She squealed, running around the room to light more candles "I wasn't going to bring anymore non magic users but this one is different!"
"No kidding..." Kaminari mumbled, looking you up and down "they're wearing other kingdom clothes, they're gonna get caught!"
"It's fiiiine! I'll take them shopping!" Mina was so happy running around the small room.
You reached over to touch Kaminari's arm and yelped when you got shocked. Kaminari blushed and put his hands up "Sorry! I got hit with lightning near a magic vein and now I shock everything I touch."
Your eyes were wide with surprise and you had an idea. Digging around the bag Midoriya had bought you, you fished out your phone and a charging cable. You plug one end into your crack phone and thrust the other end towards the confused boy. "Put this in your mouth."
Kaminari's mouth drops open and Mina starts laughing again. "What?? No! Why?" He takes a step away from you.
"I need to charge my phone! Please, Kaminari! You do this all the time where I'm from!" You have him backed against a wall and he puts his hands over his mouth, shaking his head no.
"What is that?" Mina points at your phone "it looks busted"
"It's a... It's a tiny magic mirror, but it'll only work if it's charged. Kaminari, please!"
"You're gonna suck the magic out of me with that?" Kaminari clasps his chest dramatically and looks at you with a horrified expression.
"What? No! Ugh, just come on!"
"I wanna see it work!" Mina exclaimed grabbing the end of the charging cord and forcing it into Kaminari's mouth.
He gags at the metallic taste and glares at Mina right before the charging notifications goes off with a little "ping". The two gasp and look at your phone mesmerized at the little noise it made. As soon as it had enough power you switched it on. Smiling at the two amazed expressions before you. You pulled up the pictures you had with Mina and Kaminari. "Tiny magic mirror" Mina breathed one hand over her mouth, other outstretched towards your phone.
You snorted and laughed, handing the phone to them so they could scroll through your pictures.
You find a chair to sit in and your legs basically give out, you didn't realize how tired you were. Leaning you head against the wall you close your eyes and drift off to sleep, comforted my the familiar sounds of you friends laughing and joking with one another.
i think we've all come a long way from last year, i think we've changed because we all hit rock bottom and realized it wasn't where we were meant to be. and we won't ever go back to feeling or doing those things.
See, you're wrong though. My rock bottom was two first clenched around my throat, and then trusting the person who cared so little for my own well being, and used me to no extent. Rayden will hit his rock bottom when he's forced to answer for what he did to me. Shae-Lynn's will be when she realizes that her boyfriend is in jail for beating another woman, that he will have a record, he will not be able to get a job at a movie theatre, let alone support a family, and that she gave up a friend that would've put her ahead of anyone, for a boy that has already been unfaithful. For a boy that threatens to kill, and hit dogs. The funny thing about all of this is that it doesn't feel like Rayden is my ex boyfriend. I don't ever miss him, I don't ever miss what we had; I feel nothing looking back at that situation; I fucking miss Shae though. And I think that's what hurts worse than anything. Missing someone that you know never actually gave a fuck about you in the first place. I bet you didn't know this, but any time I'm reached out to, I have to text Makayla, or Raquel, or Parker, or anyone, to remind me why I never want to go back to her. They each list the things that she did, and the reasons I'm so much better off without that part of my life. I miss the laughing.. fuck, I miss the laughing. Shae and I would laugh all night long. I mean I actually answered this girls texts, and everyone knows what that means. But I have to keep in mind what I don't miss. I don't miss the lying, I don't miss her telling me that I was the reason that Rayden hit me, I don't miss her telling people that the abuse was mutual, when she sat in the back of my car and watched him hit me, I don't miss her using me, or manipulating me. I know that you're happy, Shae. I know that Rayden is your knight in shining armour, I know that you're so infatuated with the idea of loving him, and him loving you, and the two of you being exactly what is right for each other. And the truth is, when I talk to my therapist, or the woman from victim services who updates me on the charges, I tell everyone that I want nothing more than the two of you to get healthy, get your lives figured out, and to eventually maybe even start a family, get married, whatever makes you both happy. What you need to understand is that before any of those things can happen, he must accept responsibility for what he's done. I want nothing more than for everyone to just be able to live their own lives. I don't like dealing with you, or him, or the RCMP. I don't enjoy any of this, but it's happening. You and I both know that what he did to me, is horribly wrong. You and I both know that what you did to me, is horribly wrong. Mellissa has told you that there's no chance for a friendship between you and I, I've told you, and I know that you figured out that Mac could message you, even though he was blocked. That doesn't by any means translate to me wanting to hear from you. Shae-Lynn, you made a choice, and that choice was the boy that abused me for over a year. You had a friend that would've laid down their life for you, would've done anything in the world for you, loved you so whole heartedly, and you gave it all up for an abuser, who will forget your name the second he sees a vagina with a larger pair of tits. No one but Rayden matters to Rayden. You mattered to me. Please don't try to contact me again, it's done. I don't want any anonymous messages, I've blocked you on everything, please just let the court system do its job, and leave me the hell alone.
