(this might become a tradition lmao of me throwing oc lore at you while you’re probs alseep) okok so the main families in the story are the beckett’s (we know all about them), the biswar’s (janette’s family) and the rivera luzardo’s (carmela’s family)! there’s another one but their not as important to the story at the moment!

Basically janette’s family’s deal/literally janette’s life story (so sorry this is so long akdhdl) is:

-Mum continued the family cult and roped janette’s dad/her husband into it

-When janette and her sister were born, janette’s dad up and left with janette’s sister Mary (name to be changed btw) and janette didn’t have contact with them until she was in her early 30’s

-Her mum made her life shit (its a cult what did you expect tbh/silly) meaning she was very reliant on her mum for most of her teenage years/early twenties

-Janette killed her best friend Huan Lin (cult reasons)

-Then her mum (who’s name is Diana) got really sick and was given a year left to live and janette,who was 25, was like ‘oh thank god i’m out of here’ and left before she could see her mum die

-And basically spent her late twenties running around the cities, trying to catch up on everything she’d missed in her very closeted life (music, alcohol, friends, work etc)

-Then her guilt caught up to her in the form of her best friend’s ghost and her mum’s ghost and went back home to the town that she was raised in to dismantle the cult

-that is basically where the main story starts but the dismantling of the cult isn’t going well (she’s basically started it up again)

so, then, let me tell uu about the story of the half demon and the human she loved. (aka my demon Slayer ocs doomed Yuri )

this infodump is gonna require some prior knowledge to demon Slayer tbh > < I'm too lazy to explain details that are specific to the demon Slayer series Soz ... also my autocorrect might randomly capitalize Slayer so just ignore that

so let's introduce the characters !!

KAGUYA UBUYASHIKI

kaguya's name above links her playlist that i made a few yrs ago !! the playlist is quite old and i don't add new songs to it as much but i quite love it a lot > < i think the songs suit her well so there's no reason to change anything

at the start of the canon series (like lets say kaguya is in the story because thats how i wrote it lmao) Kaguya is 25 years old. as her surname "ubuyashiki" implies, she's an adopted member of the ubuyashiki clan. her mother was a pillar (a pillar of what, I'm not sure yet ahaha...) who disappeared before kaguyas birth, and left the infant Kaguya at the doorstep of the ubuyashikis. they decided to take her in and raise her alongside kagaya ubuyashiki, the head of the demon Slayer corps at the start of the series. Kaguya is 2 years older than kagaya. she is also his only surviving sibling as the rest of their siblings committed suicide years ago (canon fact i read just now lol)

she doesn't know much about her mother, and only knows her mother through the stories that others tell about her. unfortunately, due to their line of work, those who knew her mother end up dying until she's the only one carrying her mother's memory. there rumors though that her mother had an affair with a demon right before giving birth to kaguya

Kaguya hopes to find her father one day. how she will do it, what would she do (ask him why it had to be her mother, ask him about her mother, kill him, form a relationship with him, etc.); she doesn't know.

fun fact about her father: originally she was going to be the daughter of muzan kibutsuji. because this was a common trope i did before, i made ocs who were the daughters of villains. i didn't really regard the villains as parental figures because i was in love with them, but i suppose i enjoyed the family dynamic this trope would have. it was interesting to imagine the villain parent as being softer and kinder to their daughter (if they were on the same side [kaguya would not have been on the same side as muzan, obviously]), their daughter being spoiled, treated like royalty, and inheriting the same villainous traits from their parent(s)... i actually did have another oc who was muzan's daughter, although she didn't exist in the same "universe" as kaguya lolz

... looking back at my childhood and family history i can see why i was so in love with this trope

anyways. Kaguya harbors a secret that she doesn't hide well, so most people are aware of it, but out of respect no one accuses her of anything. Kaguya might just be a half demon half human (okay well take out the word "might" because she IS). she exhibits great inhuman strength and speed, she can heal quickly from any injury (it's not as fast as the regular demons' regeneration, but she can survive injuries that humans would usually die from. she recovers quickly from injuries and never gets sick. healers love her. literally. i used to ship her with shinobu.) she's also allergic to sunlight and wisteria. she gets severe rashes when she stands under the sun for too long and her body temperature rises quickly when she's outside. hence, she wears a wide brimmed hat to protect from the sun. i also think she would wear her universe's version of sunscreen. she also feels nauseous around wisteria. heaven knows what would happen if she ingested it.

she's sort of a prodigy when it comes to being a warrior/fighter. she began having rigorous training to fight demons since she was 8 and since then she has become a high profile demon Slayer. (that age might change... it used to be 6 but i thought 6 was too overkill lol. that's really young isn't it. she should be at the playground /ref)

I'm a bit undecided about what her breath style should be. it used to be breath of the Phoenix (based on the song the Phoenix by fall out boy) and i have a design of Kaguya with red robes which would fit that breath style more, but I've grown used to purple robes Kaguya! i know i could have Kaguya use breath of the Phoenix while wearing purple robes, but robes are often symbolic of a slayer's breath style, and purple robes just don't really give Phoenix vibes.

Kaguya with red robes ! i use this design in an AU of kaguya's story. i won't go into the AU in this post but all one needs to know is: it's based on moon knight. because i just so happened to have a moon knight phase around the same time i was really obsessed with kaguya's story

another breath style Kaguya could use though is wisteria breathing. i just thought of this recently so it's a wip idea, but it could be interesting bc wisteria breathing is strong against demons but it will also hurt her. wisteria and all that. it feels symbolic of her as a character as well.. somehow

anyways, Kaguya is aloof, keeps her distance from others, acts invulnerable and cold, although she has moments of warmth and can still show kindness to others. she prefers that others do not get to know her on a personal level and keeps everything professional. her brother and her 1 or 2 friends encourage her to loosen up and they've tried everything to get her to socialize with others.

she's desensitized to her pain and others'. the corps often gives her the hardest jobs simply because she's one of their best fighters, so she's used to long battles (and winning). she's not cocky when it comes to fighting, but she certainly knows that she will eventually win. she rarely shows fear. she knows that a scared warrior is not what people need.

obviously she has a dash of trauma added to her character.

i realized Kaguya is extremely similar to mizu from blue eye samurai. i didnt intend fur that—kaguya was made AGES before BES was released, but i think that's really cool lol

RISA AKAGI

kaguyas childhood friend who died at 25. she was a demon Slayer of a high rank, just like her dear friend. came from a rich family with parents that loved her; sadly they never understood her deep down. they didn't understand her dreams to pursue creative arts like writing and music. instead they wanted her to marry so they can become more wealthy.

her parents did arrange a marriage for her, but they lost their wealth anyway. and soon enough, risa lost her husband and her family.

risa was used to dealing with expectations. her peers often viewed her as a perfect unattainable standard. someone to watch and be jealous of. someone to compare themselves to.

she was a practical person who kept calm often. a lot of people liked her and thought she was easy to get along with. she always knew what to do, how to behave, to get people to like her and do what she wanted them to do. many people in her circle liked to act as if they know her well/personally/deeply but she's a guarded person who knows how to keep people away, just like kaguya. the difference between them is that risa can fool people into believing they're closer than they actually are

i actually never thought of what risa's breath style would be. kaguya was her main mentor when she was in training so maybe she developed a breath style based on kaguyas? like early on she was using a common breath style but ended up developing one similar to kaguyas. I'll think about it further though.

that's all i can say about risa.

so what's their story anyway?

their first meeting was when they were children (eight and eleven, risa is 3 yrs older). it was a short meeting, almost unremarkable, although they kept thinking of their meeting bcz they wanted to meet each other again very badly. their wishes were granted and they meet again as teenagers (14, 17). this time theyre able to form a friendship and oh, how close they become. it's like a once in a lifetime bond. and speaking of lifetimes they feel like they know each other from a past life.

^ note I'm not tryna be weird about this, they didn't develop feelings for each other until they were both adults/chronologically 20-somethings. Kaguya physically matures faster due to being half demon so physically she looks about risa's age if not older. she doesn't act like a regular young person either due to her life experiences. i made their ages like this to emphasize how she is stronger in terms of physical power despite being younger.

they are inseparable... except for complications in their life that do separate them. one, as they grow up, risa's marriage to an older man is arranged. as a result she doesn't have as much freedom to do what wanted (ie, hang out with Kaguya) like before. they find their ways though, don't worry. a bit after their marriage, risa's family loses their wealth somehow and they're forced to move to a small very rural town

two, Kaguya obviously has to hide her true life from risa. keeping such a huge secret causes fights and other troubles between them but what else is she to do? she just can't tell a regular civilian about the demon Slayer corps and demons at all . she wants to keep risa safe too so she has to tell her Absolutely Nothing

all of that becomes for nothing though when a demon attacks risa's family, killing her parents (and siblings that live with them, if i decide to give her siblings. i should give her siblings), her husband, and her husband's family too probably. but basically a lot of people are dead. Kaguya arrives and kills the demon, but at that point only risa was the survivor. Kaguya tells her about demons and demon slayers, and risa chooses to enlist in the corps.

when risa enlists, she's 20 and chronologically Kaguya is 17. of course she hasn't really properly ENLISTED yet because she has to go through the final selection ! ( i kinda find it funny that they call it the "final selection" when there's no other selection process for demon slayers other than this, but it's also kind of a final thing in the way that many people Die from it ) so risa moves to kaguya's estate and trains for three years before entering the final selection. obviously she survives and passes with flying colors because she was trained only by the best (kaguya <3). she became friends with the people she saved/helped in the final selection too

so now at 23, risa is a demon slayer! things go quite well in her career. she goes on pair missions with kaguya at first so that risa's safety is ensured and she doesn't have a hard time. risa is worried she actually isn't that good of a demon slayer and at some point she hates relying on kaguya during pair missions, thinking that her success is only because of kaguya and not because she has any skill at all.

aside from that risa also tries to deal with the trauma of losing her family and the mental and physical strain that comes with training and fighting demons. she's terrified that she too will lose her life one day but when she fights alongside kaguya she feels safe, and when she goes home to kaguya after a successful solo mission, she's determined to do her best fighting demons for the rest of her life so that she's happy when she dies

but then she thinks, does she really want to do this for the rest of her life?

kaguya thinks of the same thing too, because before this she was fine being a simple weapon for the corps. a weapon with no friends, no connection to this world, and no real passion in life. she's so strong, obviously she's meant to be a demon slayer, right? but being with risa causes her to rethink everything and what she truly wants

the two of them discuss if they want to retire when they're a bit older. get a nice house in the countryside and live together, raise livestock, and live a calm life where they never think about their missions and they never have to raise a sword against a demon again

,,, well

one day, risa goes on a solo mission and doesn't come back. kaguya knows where she went so she searches the whole place for her, and searches even farther, but none. she tells corps workers stationed in nearby locations to keep an eye out for risa, she searches every week for her, but she doesn't see her nor hear from her for months. she doesn't even find a dead body

what she does find, a few months later, is risa turned into a demon. she would find out later too that demon!risa had already killed a few humans in their time apart. demon risa has no memory of her life as a human, so her first instinct upon seeing kaguya is to attack her. risa is quite strong as a demon. it hurts kaguya to see risa fight with a variant of the same techniques she used when she was still a human

kaguya wants to save her, she wishes there was an ending to this battle that didn't involve risa's death, but she's relentless in her attack. it was either risa died or kaguya died

so she's slain by kaguya. let me just copy paste this line from my notes:

"as her head gets chopped and falls off, one moment from her human life flashes before her eyes. a blurry memory of her and kaguya sitting in kaguya's estate, drinking tea and enjoying the afternoon sun. the memory constantly changes shape and briefly morphs into other memories that she can't process, and it feels like a scene playing from far away. like a memory that isn't hers. risa doesn't think this is from her memory at all, due to the blurriness and transience of it. she dies facing the sky and a single teardrop falls from her eye."

risa was 25 when she died. kaguya was chronologically 23

as one can guess, this whole ordeal traumatized kaguya even further than she is already traumatized. poor thing. all of this would have taken place 3yrs before the main story (so kaguya would be 25 too when the main story would roll around)

okay, so what really happened to risa on the night she disappeared during the mission anyway? how did she become a demon?

i don't have a LOT of details sorted out, but basically she was wounded and super duper hurt during the fight, the demon she's fighting offers to turn her into a demon (i'm guessing she should've been fighting a demon moon then... oohh what if she thought she was fighting a regular demon but then a demon moon shows up and offers to turn her??) obviously she declines the offer but in the end she gets forcefully turned into a demon. so yeah !

i would also like to note that in this story, the demon slayers are aged up just a little bit. i'm sure it makes sense to someone that a lot of demon slayers are young—because they die before they can grow old— but a part of me was unsatisfied with that! so a lot of the pillars are in their early to mid 20s, with the exception of muichiro who is 17, tengen who is 31 (this bitch is 23 originally wtf??, and gyomei who is 44 (HE IS 27 I THOUGHT HE WAS IN HIS 40S)

I continue to be surprised about how explicit Armin and Hange have been about the fact Eren is committing geno-[GUNSHOT NOISE]

I know it was established last episode that this was still about Marco for Jean but it’s brought into sharper relief when they have a mise en scene dedicated to every single person they’ve lost, and then Marco gets his own panel. Everything always returns to unresolved trauma and transparent metaphors for bisexuality: 

“Hange. In the end, I’ll always be a Scout.” Jean said: I will prevent our friend from committing crimes against humanity, but I’m not like, happy about it 

“Compared to the sum of the carnage and misery wrought by Eldia, your island’s suffering is a joke.” I know Magath is probably trying to test their conviction in standing against Eren, but what a dick thing to say to the people whose lives and homes you have been actively destroying for ten years

Is the payoff for Armin being Babushka'd for a solid thirty minutes going to be that he’s going to convert all of these Former Titans in Purgatory (aka the Paths) to stop being Eren’s Skeleton Ghost Army? Incredible

I also appreciate that Eren’s own (skeleton ghost) father is among the people actively fighting against him. PARENTING

I would like an explanation on what the glowing-worm-spine-thing that gives people Titan powers is. An alien? A sea creature? A really vengeful spirit? Explain!!!!

Mikasa kissing Eren AFTER decapitating him is an incredibly weird way to end this battle. Why write this show? What was the point?

The way they’re cycling through Eren and Armin’s ages. It does hurt me

And so, I had no choice That day, in that moment, Bertholdt would’ve died, but he had to live, so I sent it away from him and towards mom.” So, not only are you saying that Eren was retroactively controlling Titans from the wall’s breach, but also that HE is responsible for his mum getting eaten? Why does Eren have to be responsible for everything? Can’t things be also Reiner and Bertholdt’s fault?

I was worried for a moment that Levi seeing the fallen Scouts was an indication he was dying, but it seems like it’s some kind of goodbye present from Eren

there is a good book on this anon, "adult children of emotionally immature parents", u can read it online for free if u google the PDF. it is monumentally eye opening. other than that, i can speak from my own experience w/ my parents. i'll put it under readmore cus im bout to get a lil personal;

so, basically, i have one parent, my mom, because my dad has been dead for over 15 years. my parents were alcoholics who worked full time dead end jobs and we never had a close relationship, but i was closer to my dad. when he died, my mom absolutely lost her mind, like, maybe this is dramatic but i do pretty much consider myself an orphan because in 2006 i lost both of them. my mom chose booze, despite the fact that it made her act completely volatile and disturbed, she chose the liquor over me n my sister. my sister is an extrovert and she started spending All her time at other ppl's houses so i was constantly alone with my mom. the emotional abuse she dealt me after my dad's death i think are the wounds within me that truly can never be healed. worse than having to watch him die. my mother would berate me for everything i did, my appearance, the fact i was flunking school, my friends, and most of all, she would always remind me that i am a bad daughter who doesn't love her enough. once i started w the suicide attempts her abuse and guilt trips only got worse. i made a lot of reckless decisions just trying to get away from her. i still feel immeasuable guilt that she is my only living parent but i can't be her daughter. i havent seen her in 3 years..

now that the context is out of the way, here's how i feel about forgiveness: you HAVE to forgive. you have to. for your own sake. to free yourself. for me, when im so so belligerently angry at my mom, i imagine her as a child. i think of her childhood where she was born to a 16 y/o polish ww2 orphan girl and a 17 y/o fatherless boy who had already been thru several detention camps + was forced to join the navy to avoid jail time. i think of the stories she'd tell me from her childhood where she constantly moved from trailer park to trailer park, the caretaker of her 3 younger sisters while her parents worked, her dad often disappearing for months at a time w no explanation, her mother in and out of psych wards. she's always casually bringing up how her parents would beat her if the trailer wasn't spotless when they got home. she was mercilessly bullied at school for being poor so she's never had many friends. she never got any education and has worked retail/cashier positions her whole life. she had to watch her husband slowly waste away, then go right back to work so we could just barely afford to eat. i think of all these factors and it's so so easy to forgive her, despite it all. like if i could reach into her chest and grab her heart and pour all of the forgiveness inside of me into her body just so she could feel happy and light for one single day, i would do it. we are all so broken and forgiveness is the only way we can ever put things back together.

that being said anon...i still have an immensely hard time talking to her. every time we talk on the phone she immediately just starts dumping all of her problems onto me, like how she used to do when i was a kid and she was drunk. she refuses to acknowledge she could ever possibly benefit from therapy. she can't even begin to acknowlege the ways she hurt and abused me. she is deeply, deeply emotionally immature. when i talk to her it rly feels like im talking to a severely damaged child. our conversations are short. i dont tell her anything about my life, i never have. we'll never be close, i've accepted it. sometimes i have days where i'm so angry at her that im ready to send myself to the psych ward over it. but the damage is done, it cant be taken back, only moving forward. and at the end of the day, i forgive her. and i want her to be ok.

i'm not sure what's happened to you with your parent anon, but just know, you can forgive from afar, you don't have to keep engaging with them if they continuously harm you. i really really reccomend reading adult children of emotionally immature parents. its only like 200 pages and you'll fly through it. like i said, available for free as a pdf online. i wish you the best anon and im sorry you have to go thru this but you're not alone. #<333

lately i’ve been thinking of a sorta zombie apocalypse au for the mcd / mys cast?

ITS LIKE. okay it’s hard to sorta explain because my thoughts are at a constant 400 mph so it’s hard for me to coherently put my thoughts together. it isn’t original tbh but i just rlly like zombie apocalypse stuff and mcd is living in my head rent free so.

it’s small ideas such as:

zane being the leader of a stronghold town that’s extremely closed off and refuses to take any new people usually. he’d be extremely protective of his town and is the type to go on a “my people are alive because i use any means necessary to keep them away from people like you.” kinda monologue.

the idea of aphmau and zoey travelling together with two kids (levin and malachi) trying to find a home because their previous town was either taken over by infected or a gang/organization. and they arrive at a small safe town that’s barely holding together with garroth as its new leader.

the equivalent of “phoenix drop” is a group of people who were taken in by Leader (tm). they were liked because no one usually takes anyone in due to fear that someone might be infected or not enough materials. they settled in a small abandoned town and barely scraped by. garroth was one of the first people they took in and quickly became their most trusted friend/right hand man. this is why when they suddenly die (or suddenly murdered) garroth is the one in charge out of nowhere.

my idea for laurence and shadow knights in general are ppl who’ve been experimented on by The Organization (tm) using the virus to make a cure but somehow have become superhuman who ocassionally get mini temper tantrums and the occasional cannibalism :D i think laurence might’ve been someone who escaped and stumbled into town.

OH MY GOD HEAR ME OUT. okay so what if the organization was looking for “soldiers” to help with a “Clean Up” of infected. garroth and vylad, part of the ro’meave family, were sent in bc they were the most physcally capable and bc it’s an honor to work for The Organization (tm) while zane was forced to stay and take care of the city. garroth would be given a high rank in the group while vylad would’ve been a normal soldier since garte doesn’t really think too highly of him to give him a rank nor let him control a town of people.

due to this, vylad was one of the soldiers chosen for an experiment, along with laurence etc. ofc garroth didnt know this and instead was told he disappeared. i think he did eventually find out about the whole experiment thing bc he couldn’t believe vylad was just gone (either out of grief or had his own suspicions). when he went apeshit, they tried to placate him by saying “he wanted to do this” and then decided to just drop a bomb that vylad is dead. 

i just imagine a scene of garroth standing at the lab’s “morgue” and watching them open a bag, seeing vylad’s “body” and just the look of devastation and misery on his face.

anyway, he ends up going “fuck this shit” and leaves The Organization (tm) but ofc not before committing some arson out of revenge, making him a wanted criminal by The Organization.

ofc, vylad isn’t dead, it was just a trick by the org to get garroth off their back only to completely lose him. (which i feel like isn’t something such a strong org would make such a mistake but this au’s for the shits and giggles and my own indulgence.) i think he and laurence actually planned an escape together but ended up separated

SO IMAGINE. laurence stumbling into this town, he’s growling and shit bc of the negative side effect of the experiment and garroth runs out, hearing shocked screams from people, only to see a familiar ginger hunched over looking half dead. he points a gun at the person and when they meet eyes it’s just “..laurence?” “garroth?!” LOSING IT I LOVE REUNION SCENES LIKE THIS

The afterlife on the dsmp as it has been shown in canon is good and anything too different from it would send some screwed up message.

The afterlife has to be objectively shitty for everyone. (Tho tbh schlatt didn't seem that tortured and from what we've heard of MD he actually seemed to be havin a decent time??? Wish they'd tell us a bit more about the "day to day" life of limbo)

Because. Well. It can't be neutral. Because we have so many suicidal characters and a neutral limbo would be good in comparison to their life. And while that's all well and good, it sends a really bad message of death being freeing and all of that. A message you don't wanna send to your potentially mentally ill audience.

And I mean neutral in different ways. You disappear as a person and become part of the big nothing? That'd be good for many suicidal ppl. Just. Half-conscious eternal sleep floating in nothing? Again. That's good for people having a bad life.

A good afterlife like heaven or paradise or whatever has the same problem but even worse. It makes death desirable. So a hard no for a story like this. Also I don't want people like schlatt or dream to die after being awful and then just. Get the big happy end like everyone else?

And yeah, I hear ya. "Cat, why do we not just have different afterlifes for different p-" no stfu.

Listen, I want ghostbur to have a better limbo too but what kind of fucked up message would that send? Wilbur deserved eternal suffering for his poor mental health and ghostbur deserved eternal happiness for literally not having the capacity for it? And that's also once again establishing that death is desirable with the right circumstances.

And again. And this is important. An afterlife that judges you is an awful fucking idea for especially this story. A story where everyone is morally grey and has become worse due to trauma.

And the afterlife is objectively shit. But I also wanna point out that a lot of Tommy's complains came from Wilbur apparently tormenting him and Wilburs came from being alone all the time.... Which is not gonna be a problem for eternity when the afterlife is shared (which makes a good point for the theory that the current afterlife isn't the true afterlife but messed up because... How tf was JSchlatt the first one to die yet a revivebook existed)

Like yeah. The afterlife would also have been shit for Tommy even without Wilbur because... Sensory deprivation tank. But you also gotta remember that he very much requested to STAY THERE if he were to die again.

So dying and being revived is objectively worse.

But even more so. The people there don't change. They change in small ways! Wilbur went from being dead and not wanting to be revived during the disc war finale to being dead and not wanting to be revived but also planning to make life hell if he were to being dead and wanting to be alive again.

But overall. They can't grow. They can't start or have or complete a character arc when they're dead. And that's great. Change is a privilege of the living. Life sucks but death also sucks and there you can't even change. Life sucks but at least that can change. Life sucks but it can not suck at some point. Life sucks but if you give up and die that will never end.

Life is precious because it can be good unlike death.

Tldr: the dsmp afterlife is perfect the way it is y'all are just fucking weak.

I agree with most of your points, but not with Tommy. Like, a big part of why the afterlife sucked for him was also that he felt like he was constantly being ripped apart and stretched, he explained as much when talking about it. Wilbur made it worse, but he wasn't the only thing.

Also, while Tommy initially expressed that being back was worse, that's a feeling that hasn't been expressed in a long ass time and was probably the result of the mix between the sensory overload, the alienation and feeling like he'd been replaced. Most likely now his answer would be different. We can't really take something he said when he was freshly traumatized and act like he could never change his mind on it.

Further proof on that is how fervently Wilbur wants to live. How happy he is to be back. Makes me think that revival isn't all that bad if it isn't done in literally the most traumatizing way possible. And that's a good thing honestly. It sends a stronger message about life still being better and still being worth it.

But yeah, in general that's also why I like the canon Limbo. I really don't think it would have been smart to handle it any other way honestly.

The only reason why I don't like Ghostbur being there is because it doesn't really make any sense? Like, did Ghostbur exist as an independent entity before Wilbur died? If not why does he still exist now that Wilbur is back? How separate are they as entities? Why did nothing like this happen with other characters who also died? If Wilbur got Ghostbur's memories does this mean they partially merged in some way? How does a Ghost even die? Why was Wilbur able to interact with Tommy, Schlatt and MD in Limbo but Ghostbur supposedly isn't?

Like, it just creates so many fricking plotholes it's unbelievable. Honestly the best thing he could have done was just say that Ghostbur and Wilbur merged and that was it. At least it would have made sense. Now it's just kind of there as information and we have to pretend it makes sense even if it really really doesn't.

1. we’ve all seen heaven sent. would thirteen spend 15 billion years fighting for yaz? probs not. would ten do it for rose? absolutely not. twelve loved clara more than any incarnation of the doctor loved anyone and i may be willing to die on that hill. bc i can just feel how much he loved her and we all saw how far he was willing to go to save her. they were like, unhealthy obsessed with one another

2. there’s just something about their relationship that cannot make me say that eleven loved river more than twelve loved clara. i think it’s purely because eleven doesn’t strike me as quite as intense with his love for river as twelve did with his love for clara. like. clara was pretty much all twelve knew but then with eleven, he had other things going on idk. it might be a lot to do with the fact she was never a full time companion, she just kinda popped in sometimes and then disappeared without a trace after manhattan. but with clara, we saw the build up of their relationship each episode and we really saw what that loss did to twelve in heaven sent and hell bent.

3. i love them and obviously ten loved rose so much but they do give me ‘i’m a teenager and this is my first time being in love and imma be really annoying about it vibes.’ so i think rose was very important to ten and his love for her (and her love for him) was also very intense, i just think it was less so than the other two

4. listen. i am a certified thasmin stan but thirteen’s love for yaz just has to be ranked lower than the others. i do believe she loves yaz and it is also an intense love, especially by the time we get to series 13 and eve of the daleks, but overall it just feels a bit less intense than the other three

5/6. neither are the main pairings for that companion but i do think they’re both important bc they both got the doctor out of dark places. i only put ninerose above elevenclara bc i don’t think eleven actually loved clara at any point but by the end of series one i definitely think nine loved rose

and somebody's gonna die, i feel like it's expected. if you look at honkai impact 3, literally nobody is safe from death, and that's rlly cool. a lot of games don't let ppl die like no matter what, they'll always survive whatever gets thrown their way, or some games just randomly kill off ppl with no reason whatsoever.

mondstadt and liyue was pretty lighthearted (not rlly) but inazuma i think was a turning point in the entire game. war was brought in, most people had lost their vision and thus their passion and were simply wandering around like empty shells of themselves, and the major clans had already betrayed inazuma by colluding with the fatui. like it's not rlly that dark yet, but i expect the story to get rlly dark from here on out, probably with a few major characters deaths. hopefully they give us a few death flags before killing them off first, i don't want them to just disappear on us like signora did lol

omg pls share the story abt the lecture from that girl’s dad (only if u feel like it) but seriously ppl it’s not that hard to put a mask on to help the spread of a virus. just wear it, it keeps u safe. and for the ppl who don’t care then just wait til it affects u, bcs covid isn’t a game. Ok so sit down and buckle up kiddos and grab some snacks bc this is a helluva ride

Little background info: I have been a section leader for both my junior and senior years now. When the new freshmen came in my first year of being section leader I was hyped as hell. And then this new freshman whips out a lighter and lights it WHILE WE’RE INSIDE THE SCHOOL MIGHT I ADD with a straight face looking off into the distance before we ask her to put it away. She also always has a pocket knife on her that we found on the ground during band camp. I’ll call her POS. 

I tried to like POS I really did, but then she turned out to be a bigoted racist asshole (she also drinks deer blood straight from the corpse and simps over jeffery dahmer so even more red flags). It was extremely hard for me to treat her like I did with the other people in my section, but I managed to treat her the same as the other people and avoided her for the most part (thank god she wasn’t in my subsection I would’ve actually gone insane)

Flash forward to this year. Covid was hitting full force and we had to quarantine for the first two months of our season setting us back by a lot. She was wishywashy about rejoining but as the most senior leader of my section my band director was on my ass about getting a straight answer from her and fast. So I kinda had to force her to give me an answer (which she told me she was doing it quickly which leads me to think she already knew she was doing it) so she already was going into the season hating my guts

When we finally had an in person rehearsal for the first time, she wasn’t wearing a mask so when I asked her where it was she looked at me like I was the dumbass and said in a matter-of-fact tone “it’s in my pocket” and pointed to the confederate flag bandana hanging out of her pocket. Those four words told me that this season was going to be a fuckin long one with her. I just deadpanned (she couldn’t see it tho bc mask, sunglasses, and floppy hat blocking my entire face) and said “I’d rather it be on your face. (band director and marching instructor’s names) will have my ass if they see you not wearing one.” She rolls her eyes and puts it on (at least it was over her nose)

A few months go by with me telling her constantly to put on a mask bc I am responsible for my section and I’d be damned if one of them got sick bc of one idiot being stupid that I could prevent. She is getting madder and madder with each passing rehearsal. 

Band camp rolls around and it changed from 5 13 hour days to 15 3 hour ones and I am already done with her bs. We get our dots and I mentally groan bc she’s next to me for the vast majority of the show. She is between me (an asthmatic) and my close friend (vvv immunocompromised and also hates her, I’ll call her S) so now I’m more worried about covid going around the section. It was in this time that I find out that at least 5 other people out of 20 also have pre existing conditions that make them susceptible. So now I make it even more my mission to make her wear a mask. 

It was in the middle of band camp when she is yet again not wearing a mask (we were just marching without instruments) and I turn to her and as kindly as possible (it was the second time that day) asked her to put on her mask. She once again rolls her eyes and says “ya know, (band director) walked past me 3 times and hasn’t said shit, so I think I’m gonna listen to him and not you.” S and another friend of mine looks over in shock cuz she just talked back to me. They were about to say something but I wove them off. POS wants to fuck with me? Fine. I’ll just go full force with this. She wants petty?? I’ll give her petty, I’ve been holding off all season. 

So I’m marching there for the next twenty minutes quietly seething and counting more aggressively. She’s getting annoyed, but I pull the section leader card and tell her that she needs to be counting as loud as I am bc her feet was lowkey off time. After we break off for a gush and go (very short water break), I go straight to my band director and use my limited water break to tell him what she told me. He apologizes and says that he thought she was just taking a breather. He tells her to put on a mask and she does so and glares at me the rest of the rehearsal. 

She blocks me on all social media and I obviously clown on her in private with the other section leader (he’s more of a pacifist and never really told her to wear a mask which kinda pissed me off but I understood) until she makes a passing comment to my other friend about using the knife she kept in her boot. Now he tells me cuz he’s a good friend and I’m shitting myself at that point bc holy shit I might get shanked. 

I think about telling the band director but I realize that there’s no proof of her saying this and she could easily get out of this so it’s kinda pointless to tell anyone. Plus if she did shank me, she’d get into so much trouble and I’d be laughing at her from my grave/hospital bed. 

Many rehearsals go by and she still refuses to wear a mask so after one rehearsal S and I went to the band director and reminded him about our conditions and told him about how we were worried for our safety (I also told him abotu the other vulunerable ppl in the section) and he says he’s gonna do something. Next rehearsal he gives POS a warning and she begrudgingly wears a mask for the rest of the rehearsal. The next rehearsal rolls by and she isn’t wearing a mask (again) and he sends her home. Major victory for S and I.

The next sectional tho was something I wasn’t expecting. I get there like 10 minutes before it starts like I usually do in a good mood. I get out of my car and go to grab my stuff when a massive white truck with a busted muffler pulls up into the parking space next to me with a cloud of black smoke. The window rolls down and reveals POS’s dad and POS herself in the passanger seat. 

Of course I’m thinking that this is the day I die and start mentally preparing to yell for help to my other section members 100 feet away on the field already.

Mans starts to lecture me saying things like “it’s unhealthy to wear a mask outside bc it’s like a pitri dish under there. 6th grade science!” (I am not joking or overexaggerating with this, he actually said that). I really wanted to say “well, 7th grade science says otherwise, but you wouldn’t know that bc I’m sure you didn’t pass 6th grade, but go off ig” but I didn’t bc I didn’t want to get shanked or disappear randomly. I just tell him that I am only doing what my band director told me to do and that there are tons of people (myself included) that can really get hurt from just being in contact with covid. He says that’s bullshit and tries to tell me that I’m an idiot before I cut him off by telling him once again that I am just trying to protect my section and that the sectional was going to start soon so I didn’t have the time for this. I walk away leaving him trying to keep talking to me and soon enough POS gets out of the car and follows me to the field giving me a smug smile on her unmasked face before she puts it on when she sees the other section leader stroll up. 

Lemme paint the picture for you: this guy (a 6′something burly guy in his 50′s that I know has like two felonies under his belt) pulls up next to me (a 5′2 17 year old ball of anxiety that drives a small yellow car) and starts to borderline yell at me. Traumatizing. I was shaking for the rest of the sectional and I spent the rest of the season looking over my shoulder looking for the glint of a knife swingin at me

Now I’m pretty sure she’s suspended bc she was caught with a knife on school property and she wore a confederate t-shirt to school, but I would be lying if I said I don’t still look over my shoulder or speed up when I drive past her house lmao

Omggg I was totally wondering about Ferid & Crowley too, but didn’t bring them up bc there’s so little info about what they’re up to rn. I truly get not wanting to get too deep into theories about it, especially with Rigr himself acknowledging the climax of the story, I got no clue to whether quite a few of the side characters are gonna come back into play. I’m hopeful we’ll get some more scenes with them for closure’s sake at least before everything is wrapped up.

Also, I’m super glad you brought up Yu’s personality. When I see other ppl talking about it, it’s usually just criticism of him being too happy-go-lucky, but I totally agree with addressing it from the perspective of a coping mechanism. I definitely wanna see how Yu and Mika are affected by being together again in a new way. And how Mika’s gorgeous demon sword power is gonna stack up against the 1st.

Oh and thank you for once again assuaging my fears about the well-being of the characters lmao. I love these little check-ins. Your feedback never fails to help me process the chapter better and get me more invested in the story <3

That's the whole reason I left it as a crossed-out line. I wouldn't be surprised if they were yet again left as a sort of deus ex machina and are currently doing something to help further the plan off-screen, but *shrug* who knows. Then again, Ferid was left as a head last we saw. He'll... probably(?) be whole when we see him next? Idk

What I want to know is where Narumi is. WHERE IS HE?? He went with Kimizuki and Yoichi and then dropped off the face of the planet. At least with other characters that have disappeared, we kind of saw them go their separate way. Narumi just faded out of existence. You and I both hope that everyone will get a proper wrap-up.

Yeah, I've seen that too, and I mean, it's fair to complain about, but I really do think it's a coping mechanism. If you track Yuu's character progression across the series, Yuu did genuinely become a more happy-go-lucky person after he reunited with Mika. However, it wasn't to the degree it is now. That was a very sudden change that didn't appear until after Mika died, and if you compare it to his optimistic moments prior to that death, these moments feel almost forced now. I'd have to go back and check if it's consistent, but the actual text lends itself to this idea a bit too, at least in this last chapter. The more over-the-top moments are in a different text font. It's not something I really noticed before this chapter, but I couldn't not notice how often it was used here. The only time Yuu wasn't really using it is when he was talking about family, which all that talk is just typical Yuu. I don't want to get into a full breakdown because that would be long, but here's some "quick" analysis. Yuu has developed a sort of twisted belief that everything will be okay as long as he has his family with him. Losing the (arguably) most important member of that family broke Yuu. We can see how it tore him apart. Yuu was at his absolute lowest when Mika died. He was so hurt that he was ready to die too. He only came out of that when he heard Mika could be saved, and the second he heard that, he smiled while tears streamed down his face. He hasn't stopped smiling since really. Yuu hasn't properly acknowledged what happened to Mika in a serious way since then either. You don't ping pong personality-wise like that unless you're repressing how hurt you actually are. I suppose it could just be absolutely terrible writing, but Yuu lives for other people. Mika dying showed us that. He's also shown us countless times that he doesn't think his own personal pain and suffering matters so long as his family is happy and safe. This wouldn't be the first time he brushed off his own pain and suffering to help someone else. The only difference is that this is emotional rather than physical, and that kind of pain is very hard to brush off. Emotional pain doesn't heal instantly like physical pain does in OnS. We see it with how much Guren is still suffering and agonizing over his friends' deaths. Forcing a smile and saying everything will work out just makes sense for Yuu, after all, he has to be strong for others right? There's so much else I could say, but again, I'm trying to be conscientious about length.

Anyways! I too am excited to see just how powerful Yuu is now. Probably ridiculously powerful.

Fruits Basket SE02 (ep,9). part 1

You know it’s real when kyo is given monologue right from the beginning! It rarely happens that he’s allowed any!, but when he does, it hits like a wild wave changing everything. The story is never the same after each time he’s given inner-talk. Forever changing the dynamics, the secrets & the relationships. e.g. true form ep.

Kyo’s love confession:

The sweetest, most tender love confession from the character that started the show fighting & screaming! The one that hated himself the most! now loves his name, only cuz she said it! “a special ring to it”. the guy who couldn’t look at her face, will repeat stupid things over “if it made you smile”. “Since when did I started” falling in love with you? the show goes on to show us various moment from as early as ep,4 & throughout seasons & scenes! he doesn’t know! We, the viewers, also don’t know when he started loving her!! we kinda gradually~ normally~ unknowingly~ fell in love with them together. The show opened this heavy ep filled with first-hand experience & steps on how Akito destroyed his victim... ouch! well-played, furuba! well-played.

The location: An empty room, no furniture, small, suffocating. The abuser sits far, then slowly walks towards the prey until there’s no space. But not before causing  physical pain to reassure dominance over the victim.

STEP 1: (The BET).

Kyo in his attempts to fight his destiny has met up with Akito prior to the beginning of the story, to defy him. Akito cleverly traps kyo into a bet manipulating his desire to break away from his fate. you said, YOU can fight your destiny? ok. I’ll let you. If you win against yuki, I’ll let you be free. easy, right? kyo this is your chance to prove yourself to yourself! just practice & win a stupid match. EASY! except it isn’t. The rat is superior to the cat. Your trials are in vain. you’ll NEVER rise up to anything except a failure. Try for three years! so generous of Akito! 36 months! you only need to win once! But you WON’T EVER! planting a toxic seed that eats away the victim’s self-esteem, hope & desire. Give him the chance to believe in himself then CRUSH IT. Once kyo fails, he’ll never believe in himself again. The bet is now cancelled before the third year even begins! one year & a half of failure is enough. You LOST. The Directing was phenomenal! The scene is shot in shades of sickening green, with underwater feel, like kyo is drowning deep in Akito’s abuse. Akito was shown from kyo’s perspective. Distorted, scary & demonic. like a monster..

STEP 2: (the past)

Taunting kyo with selective words that hit exactly were it hurts the most, using affirmative sentences in calm authoritative tone, alluding to facts.“cuz you’re a monster, ur mom is dead” “it was ur fault” “u killed ur mom”. Akito painted kyo’s mom in martyr light. giving birth to a monster, admirably protecting & raising him. Her reward? DEATH due to immense pressure from being WITH him. Extra step: painting kyo as the unforgivable & unappreciative son “ her son didn’t even mourn her” cuz kyo didn’t cry in front of others in her funeral. all these words carved his psyche like daggers extracting buried memories of his dad doing like Akito. YOU caused ur mom grief. the memory is now crystal clear. His mom walking slowly with open arms towards death. Giving kyo her back knowing he’s there. choosing to abandon & leave him. cuz it is HIM that is too much to bear. it is HIM that she’s escaping from.

STEP 3: (the present)

“you should’ve died”, “if you didn’t exist EVERYONE would be happy” This everyone in particular destroyed kyo way more than Akito ever planned for. Everyone includes the present. Everyone includes ppl who aren’t sohma-related. Everyone includes a happy mother & daughter. Everyone includes kyoko & tohru. It is NOW that kyo crashes, falls, loses & bends. Kyoko is the nail in his coffin. Akito lets go of kyo’s hand. Mission accomplished.

-Miscalculation in Akito’s plan: (tohru)

Akito unwittingly ruins her plan by mentioning tohru. her triumphant smile disappears & her authoritative powerful voice turns into childish screams to silence kyo, pathetically covering her ears. This drastic shift in power resulted only by mentioning tohru. Realizing that tohru was used as tool for whatever reason gave kyo strength to stand up & defend her. how dare you call her a monster? how dare you call her an angel? NO. she is but a human. A kind soul. That stayed WITH me regardless of all my ugliness inside & outside. WHY? who does that? Who gives & never takes? the foolish traveler.

The foolish traveler’s role in liberating & confiding kyo:

In momiji’s story, the foolish traveler gives the monster her life & dies. Tohru gave kyo her presence. She did NOT heal him or fade the ugliness away. NO. She didn’t treat his trauma. NO. she doesn’t even know abt his mom’s suicide!! she ONLY gave him her presence. She stayed with the monster. WHY? cuz she is a foolish person filled with kindness not wanting anything in return. But what happened to the the foolish traveler at the end of momiji’s story? she died. again DEATH surrounds kyo. If this foolish traveler stays with him death awaits her. History has proven kyo’s company lethal. the cat has cursed his most beloved ppl into death & harm. his dad, mom, kyoko. This story made kyo realize his romantic love to tohru & tragically made him understand the possible sad ending.

Akito’s Rebound:

Akito sizes the chance, strikes back & regains power. Like a hungry monster smelling fear! “ do u think u have the right to fall in love with someone?” “do u think you’re allowed?” Kyoko, reinforcing Akito’s words.”I won’t forgive you”. you, the monster knows love?? “who’s the real villain” you, the killer! “who’s the one who involved her the most” You, the most cursed! “it’s best if you are gone”.” I KNOW!” ,kyo said.

The fighter gives up:

“it was me”. every negative thought kyo has is reinforced by a past experience from someone in his life. Akito blackmails kyo into accepting his confinement in exchange of NOT harming tohru. It is becuz kyo finally loved someone enough to want to EXIST in this word that he finally stops fighting. He fought for years for himself. Now, he’ll give up for another person. Tohru’s love liberated him from hating himself enough to die or take his hatred on someone else, but, her love also imprisoned him into thinking he’ll never be worthy for her. His first thought upon seeing her is “ I want to be with u forever” but once again “ kyoko shows up reminding him” i wont forgive you” How can kyo wish to be with her? his entire trauma is against it. does he has the guts to rip tohru’s smile once he confess abt the past? What does he expect tohru to say once she knows? How would tohru react? he’ll scar her forever more than she’s already scarred. Those scars that she hides oh so well from others will become tragically apparent once he confess. So, No, kyo. Spare her the pain. who are you anyway? a mere monster that everyone will be happy if you disappeared” “why didn’t my mom kill me?” “she should’ve killed me” If she did.. then tohru would’ve been happy with her mom. “Why am I still alive?”

Kyo’s precious flower:

love is against logic. Logic says stay away from tohru & spare her ur unworthy existence. Love says look for her! love makes you run to her! love makes you want to see her first thing after getting out of the that room. love says cherish her, be around, stay with her. Love says she needs you! yes, the unworthy monster has been loved before! way before tohru!. Kazuma flashes in his mind & brings hope, Kyoko, flashes with a kind smile, teasing him, I see different hair styles, maybe repeatedly meeting kyo, love reminded kyo of the friend-kyoko! who recognized his loneliness, patted his head, reached out to him, she told him abt the tiny flower, showed him her most precious treasure. These ppl treated him as a human! NOT a monster, kazuma, kyoko & tohru, love opened his eyes to see the light amidst the darkness, the warmth of the sunset after the depth of suffocation. He won’t give up on life. NO, he wants to LIVE, to LOVE & to give back! he now knows that his existence isn’t completely worthless! he was there for tohru. he has already given her back time after time since they’ve met, he knows that! he made her smile, he saw her! the real her! tiny, foolish & oh so precious!  By the time he reached her he was able to genuinely smile from his heart! yes, he can smile cuz she’s with him now. He doesn’t care anymore abt the disgusting sohma & their curse. He only cares abt her. he won’t trample his precious flower, “ i once hoped to be always together, far away” to “ make you my own” But NO. he can’t hurt her with the painful memories, he’ll treat her with utmost respect, care & love until its time to say goodbye. quietly exiting from her life. As long as she’s not harmed. As long as her smile stays, so, he’ll stay with her together,” until we’re separated far apart”

poppy :   what comforts your muse ?

comfort is a bit of an alien concept to bradley tbh..... she rly didn’t grow up w a lot of it. her mum did her best bt a lot of the time bradley had to comfort her rather than the other way around. bradley had to adapt to her surroundings in a way bc anything else would be like surviving as a hothouse orchid in antarctica which is just <3 not gna happen. bc of this bradley can find comfort during even the most terrifying moments. it’s a bit like she goes someplace else inside her head. she’s good at detaching frm situations. she does this a lot when she needs comfort. sometimes when she lays in bed she pretends her mum’s laying w her and that bradley’s stroking the hair from her face like she used to whenever she got bad. rooftops comfort bradley. it’s like how cats seek high vantage points to feel secure bc they can oversee everything from their perch on top of the world. growing up bradley wld go to this one rooftop that overlooked the train tracks n whenever it came by she’d just like. scream as loud as she could n let the sound of the train swallow it. sometimes she pictured all the birds falling dead frm the sky when it happened or a hole tearing it open or great jagged cracks appearing in the pavement. it was nice to feel powerful for once. another thing is she likes going to deserted playgrounds in the dead of the night n jst sitting smoking on the creaky swingset like a victorian demon child from an old haunted manor in a horror movie. smashing things brings her catharsis. can’t express how angry she is all the time so letting any of that out brings a lot of relief. she’s also embarrassed to admit it n never would bt growing up she had an imaginary friend she made up a whole life for who worked for her father bt didn’t agree w the things he did n got her n her mum out to hv another life. sometimes he visits her in dreams n bradley’s so angry at him for not existing tht she attacks him w a butcher’s knife.

not rly honestly. i mean... she kind of just hasn’t been allowed to be merciful. or like. if her dad witnessed her being that way ever it would be like kill bill sirens blaring n bradley wld know she’d massively fucked up. he thinks getting upset is a childish trait n he also thinks compassion falls into this category which is completely fking absurd n unreasonable but that’s just him. so like... bradley’s kind of absorbed some of this mindset. or it’s like. a prison door she’s constantly trying to pick the lock of bt it’s very difficult not to fall into this path that tony’s made to feel so natural of just... not giving a fk about anyone even herself. that said there is like... idk. i don’t excuse any of bradley’s actions n she’s objectively bad in a lot of ways bt there’s also a tiny part of her heart that wants to be good like. she doesn’t Want to be like her dad in any way it’s kind of just the cards she’s been dealt but that doesn’t mean she isn’t constantly trying to reshuffle them as if it’ll make a new set appear. in very rare occasions bradley does let some ppl off the hook n give them a break like.... if she can tell ur actually a genuinely good person she won’t rly understand it bc that doesn’t quite compute w her experience of the world or the way she’s come to know things are in life but she’ll like. not want to completely eviscerate it if she doesn’t have a proper reason to. she’s kind of confusing honestly like. she’ll be so violent n outrageous one day n then another she’ll be walking alone n see a bee drowning in a puddle n crouch down to flick it out with a leaf. her brain’s very morally ambiguous it’s almost as if there’s a little ember of light in there that doesn’t want to die but more often than not is snuffed out to the point that u think she’s pitch black.

god............... slides on a pair of blacked out sunglasses n also a black leather jacket from the matrix so noone can see my eyes tearing up n they think i look so fking stylish they’re distracted by the look i’m serving.......... losing her mum was like. can’t even think of a sentence big enough to capture how deeply wrong it made bradley feel in her bones abt everything. it felt a bit like the world had stopped turning. her mum had this vintage jewellery box with a silky lining and a little ballerina that would turn rly slowly whenever u wound it as if it was just about to kick the bucket forever every single time n bradley like. when her mum disappeared she wld listen to the little song it made every night for months. she’d call her mum’s number n get her voicemail n leave so many. at first they were angry bt then they turned into just talking as if she was listening on the other end. sometimes she’d even pause for a small silence like she hoped a voice come. eventually the ballerina stopped twirling n her mum’s voicemail got full but bradley never felt finished no matter how many things tried to tell her she was. bradley loved her mum like. she loved her more than anything. her being gone turned out what little light she had n bradley still isn’t sure how to turn it back on. she hasn’t rly tried to b honest with u. she isn’t sure she wants to see any more. might just b easier to live in the dark if u pretend u never knew what the light was like in the first place. if u don’t expect anything different.

AU where Morgan reign of terror traumatizes Coby and he leaves with Luffy and Zoro instead of becoming a marine.

ANON I LOVE YOU YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME!!!! I don’t know how to make this a comprehensive story yet so have some headcanons about 

~~REVOLUTIONARY COBY!!!~~~

Coby is disgusted by way marines are run

He has a “THIS ISNT JUSTICE” Revelation like in Marineford, but on a smaller scale. He sees how thin Zoro is, from being starved and crucified for saving a young, and how happy the people are now that Axe Hand is gone and is like - this isn’t the justice I wanted.

“I want to catch criminals, not harm innocent people.”

Coby starts thinking about his new companions and thinks Luffy’s rough and luffs feral, but he hasn’t hurt anyone. Axe Hand Morgan and his son have.

So Coby follows Luffy and Zoro into the great unknown.

He’s not entirely sure he wants to be a pirate however. Unlike everyone else he does have a moral compass.

“I don’t think I want to be a pirate.” He says after watching Zoro keep calling Luffy Captain.

 “Then be a bounty hunter? Go after whomever you want” – Zoro, who does not give a shit about Coby’s internal crisis, but wants to support him.

⁃Coby: “Huh. Okay”

⁃Cue nights where cobys just thinking about his future as he drifts in the waves with Zoro and Luffy being dumb idiots together and just heading for their dreams

HE doesn’t know if he wants to be a bounty hunter, because how can he tell which bounties are for genuine crimes and which are for people the government wants to kill?

Potential other au lmao coby becomes a bounty hunter

⁃At orange town, he panics at Buggy and hides - he doesn’t know how to fight, but he does get the key from chouchou the dog. He’s helping, in his own way.

⁃Zoro sees this and is like “NO. You need to learn how to fight cmon we’ll teach you.” Like Luffy, he has an aversion to people who cant stand up for themselves, but he likes Coby so he’s gonna help.

⁃So Zoro and Luffy tag team each other and teach coby how to fight. He learns a weird mix of swordsman ship and punching that really don’t go together, but its better than what he had.  

⁃In the meantime, Coby keeps on seeing all the places the marines dont reach and keeps losing his faith in the system. He starts wondering why the Marines are hailed as this awesome force when really a lot of the times they just abuse their power or do nothing to help people.

⁃At Syrup, he helps get Kaya to safety with Usopp, still unwilling to fight, but starting to regain his resolve to do something – to reclaim a dream thought lost.

⁃Coby’s disgusted at the Fullbuster guy on the Baratie and punches him. 

⁃“YOUR FIRST CRIME!” Luffy says, cheerfully. The chefs applaud. Go Coby.

⁃Now, Coby isn’t advancing as fast in training, because one, luffy and zoro (and Sanji, eventually) aren’t Garp, and two, he doesn’t have that drive anymore. Why does he want to be a Marine who punishes justice?

⁃But when Arlong shows up Coby figures out his new dream. He knows what he is going to do.

⁃“I’m gonna take down the Marines - they can’t be this corrupt forever, and how many people are just innocent people? I want to give the world justice again!”

Luffy doesn’t really care about anybody else, innocent or not, unless his crew cares, but Coby cares. He’s not a pirate, but maybe if the law isn’t right, being free to do as he wish shouldn’t incriminate him?

⁃THEN the Strawhats run into Vivi and Chopper and suddenly there are more caring people like him, and more evidence that the system is corrupt which he already knows but how can he change it. He’s able to fight off some men now, and helps fight off some of Wapols men and the Whiskey Peak people, but that isn’t enough.

⁃All his friends have goals that seem impossible but they are so sure they alone are going to reach it, even without the crew there. Coby doesn’t feel like he can do the same.

⁃But hen theres alabasta - He’s stronger now, can through a punch, hes more lean with more muscle. He helps fight, and maybe it doesn’t do much, maybe the man (Luffy) who opened his eyes to the world is still there bleeding out, but he did something.

⁃And Ace and Robin have a hint for him, for his dream.

⁃(Who is this, Ace asks, referring to Coby. He has no role on the ship, but Luffy is proud to call him my friend, and say he wants to change the world for the better. To bring back what Justice really is. Ace cringes at the thoughhht of Garp but hums, and says theres a group of people who will do that – The Revolutionaries. Look for them, Ace says, and leaves. They will help you)

⁃(Robin, who knows all, tells him about Dragon unknown in the East Blue, his home, buth the most wanted man elsewhere. He has a plan, to take down the World Government, and perhaps Coby can find equal footing.)

⁃The Revolutionaries -  Dragon, Luffy’s father.

⁃Coby has a goal now.

⁃He doesn’t want to say goodbye to the Strawhats, but he does, taking a boat lent to him by Vivi, and setting off to find the Revolutionaries. Pirates don’t care about fair fights and Justice, but Coby does, and the Revolutionaries do. His dream will grow there, but he will always be an honorary crew member of the Straw Hat Pirates (the first in some stories).

⁃At sea he runs into Helmeppo, whose drifting at sea stranded due to the marines, and helps him. They bond, and Helmeppo has done a little growth in character as well, and decides to follow Coby, much like Coby decided to follow Luffy.

⁃They run into Garp who is losing faith in the new generation and believes that maybe his son is right, gives them a few fists of training after asking about his grandson, and goes on his way.

⁃They save a town or two

⁃Coby punches several people in the face.

⁃Still no sign of the revolutionaries, but they have heard things from the grape vine that a pirate ship has fallen out of the sky into a navy base. Coby assumes at least Luffy is doing fine.

⁃Finally they run into - guess who – Sabo, on a information recovery mission, which Coby helps with. He questions them at first and learns their story.

⁃And knocks himself the fuck out when Coby says “Ace” “Luffy” and “Brothers”

⁃“OH SHIT THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME” - sabo,after waking up, to a confused Coby and then profusely thanking him.

⁃Sabo agrees to let Coby and helmeppo into the Revolutionaries and trains them (wow Coby’s been trained by a lot of ppl at this point) if Coby helps him find Luffy and Ace.

⁃CUE WILD GOOSE CHASE WHICH ENTAILS COBY BECOMING THE HERO OF THE REVOLUTION just like Garp is the hero of the marines!! They just fight ppl but instead of in the name of becoming the pirate king, its for REVOLUTION and JUSTICE because Coby has a working moral compass.

⁃Coby develops new moves combining all that he’s been taught into a rather weird fighting style with a mix of weapons and martial arts. He gets a bounty, and it’s the worst day of his entire life and also the best. He can’t decide, Helmeppo Sabo and Koala (whom he met when Sabo had to explain why he wasn’t on his mission) laugh at him.

⁃Then Sabo runs into Ace, ands that reunion goes as well as you would expect, but that not the important thing, because its still not enough to not send Ace to Marineford. But they don’t know this. Yet.

⁃Sabo and Ace both get news about Ennies Lobby at the same time. Coby, when Luffy mentions knowing Coby to his visiting grandfather, receives a shudder down his spine as if he has narrowly avoided a horrible fate.

⁃But its whatever. Sabo contacts Dragon and plans to meet with him and Luffy at Sabaody, to keep an eye on the Supernovas and let Sabao and Coby see Luffy again.

⁃They never get a chance, as the Strawhat Pirates have disappeared by the time they arrive… and Ace is on the execution block.

⁃Sabo has to go save him and drags Coby along for the ride, who eagerly awaits the opportunity to THROW DOWN SOME MARINES

⁃Luffy still goes through Impel down and all that, but Sabo and Coby still arrive late to the battle.

⁃You know how Sabo saves Luffy and Ace in that one excerpt? Cue coby punching akainu in the face for trying to hurt his friends then dodging the hell outta there as sabo saves ace and luffy.

⁃He Learns his haki! Is like oh shit my crush is gonna die, better do some shit about that! The haki allows him to actually stop Akainu for a second, and stop the fighting, as he attempts to question the people – is this what justice is?

⁃Coby meets trafalagr law and also buggy again. He isn’t afraid anymore, and doesn’t hide. People are quietly proud.

⁃Luffy gets saved and ASL reunion happens.

⁃Luffy decides to train, and tries to get coby to come along with him.

⁃Coby Is just frustrated because he has a moral compass and Luffy is just here saying he’s now best friends with corrupt war lords and the pirate kings right hand man, who is a cool dude, but why luffy, coby is hurt, please stop punching people because you feel like it.

After leaving Luffy to train and after helping him due his oxbell thing, he leaves with sabo to FINALLY MEET DRAGON

He goes through his own two year training with helpmeppo who is along for the ride. Who Coby has now decided is stuck with him for life.

Training is hell, because Coby wants to find his own fighting style which means a lot of different stuff and seeing what works best and it HURTS
