I think one of the biggest differences between bangel and spuffy is that angel isn’t a partner to buffy. he’s not even someone she knows that well. he’s not someone she’s ever familiar with, and he’s not someone she can ever fully rely on.
yeah their romance was big and grand and all the things a tragic fairytale romance is. but at the end of the day their relationship is so incredibly surface level. all there is is the idea of love, and not even the real thing.

here’s my final philosophical take for the day. i hate advertisements for food and drink that get even remotely close to asmr or anything fancy like that it is my biggest squick ever i don’t want that thang anywhere in my ears. don’t whisper or otherwise speak to me in a low tone do not crinkle or chew or slurp etc etc that is downright foul-mannered i will start attacking something like a feral dog

Having Orym be the point person for the discussion with the temple is also really fun because on the one hand I do think he's got the viewpoint most favorable to deities among the party, but on the other he was also raised in a druidic nature-based society. I think the fact that he's got doubts about the situation given his background is pretty telling.
This also tangentially reminds me that on NADDPod's Short Rest which I listened to yesterday, the players all covered how they learned in the last session that one of the enemies of their current arc is a druid, and how all their knee-jerk reactions, as people whose first campaign had a beloved druid character from a beloved druid society, was not "oh shit the bad guy's a druid," but "oh he's secretly a GOOD GUY." They got past it because of his actions, but it was a very real bias!

what’s your favourite thing about your favourite driver?
i have been Thinking on how to phrase this… probably that lando is very very relatable to me 😭 lots of the things people hate about him are things i see in myself unfortunately LOL
his food icks… so real. coming across as perhaps brash or rude on accident… real. the swings from self deprecation to extreme confidence? real as hell. the random touchy moods? he’s so me. i cant remember other things but i KNOW i have drafts that are like. “unfortunately i am a lando bc i too would do the goofiest shit to get my friends to pay attention to me” or whatever

nancy starts reconnecting with parts of her childhood after all that shit went down for comfort. this prompts her to start a collection of stuffed animals, get into d&d again, pick her old lotr books up from the dusty shelves, experiment with make-up like she did as a preteen...
she even starts making friendship bracelets again but only gives them to very specific people; dustin has a green and yellow one he matches with steve, robin has a red, orange and yellow one she refuses to take off even when she showers, and jonathan has a purple one he turned into a keychain because bracelets kinda make his skin itch and he can't keep them on for longer than half an hour (of course, nancy helps him with redesigning it).
eddie has one, too. it's blue with a single pink bead in it. nobody really questions it, and if they do, eddie just shrugs and tells them that nancy ran out of blue beads and had to improvise. little do they know, nancy has a pink bracelet with one blue bead in it, matching eddie's.
it's not like nancy thinks eddie is more special than the others, or anything like that. it's just that eddie has been there, encouraging her on her journey to rediscover that part of her life she had forgotten.
when eddie caught nancy reading lotr behind school during lunch, he plopped down right beside her and talked about it with her for the remaining of their break (they now have weekly meet-ups where they discuss about the plot points nancy reached during the week). when nancy wanted to rekindle her relationship with d&d, eddie did not waste a second to organize a campaign just for her. when the two of them found themselves at the byers-hopper family's new home for movie night, nancy revealed to wanting to try out the lead actress' make-up on herself, and eddie told her he would have helped. (nancy thought he was joking; he wasn't.)
and when nancy ended up crying in eddie's arms after everything had felt like too much, when they both trusted each other enough to tell the other tiny little secrets about themselves and who they truly were, when eddie showed up at her house with cheap liquor and a box full of beads he had found at the flea market after a rough day... it was then that nancy knew she had found herself something precious.
so yes, nancy wheeler has a best friend. that's another thing she needed back from her childhood.

not to be like. Annoying about it. but what really gets me abt beatles fans of like. really Any demographic who complain that it's disrespectful to assume john & paul were anything but straight boy besties bc "men can show affection for their friends" or whatever is just like.... once again it always comes back to: if this were a man and a woman, would anyone be out here crying about their friendship or would it just be an uncontested fact about rock history? like. when you look at everything they've ever said about each other, what their friends and partners have said, the songs they've written about each other, etc it's like. pretty blatant. the only reason it's Not a "fact" is because it's two men. like whether you want to think they had a physical relationship or not (which is smth we can never know bc that's no one's business) it's just so weird to insist it's disrespectful to point this stuff out. like. again. do you guys say any of this stuff when people talk about straight relationships in history? or is this hesitance and distaste Solely reserved for gay people?
(none of this means anything to my followers who don't care abt the beatles scroll on ur fine I'm talking abt ppl deep into this but w a side of homophobia they can't shake)
