You've said from your lick.comic that Lucifer becomes attracted to Adam not long after and Adam is basically dealing with gay panic.
How long after that do they sleep together and how does it happen??

It wouldn't take too long after it. Hmmm, in fact, I have a comic planned down the line that fits very nicely as a continuation, I might tweak the script a bit to fit it better, so we'll see.
However that comic is gonna be kinda dub-cony and with some coercion so I'll propose an alternative if that's not your thing lol
After the events of that comic, Adam is effectively UNEASY around Lucifer. He can't even look him in the eye, he's actively avoiding him. He's apologized (begrudgingly) to Charlie and he's actually behaving well with the hotel gang.... Except when Lucifer is around. He gets pissy, short-fused, snappy, etc.
Lucifer meanwhile has the spark of attraction ignited inside of him, he looks at Adam with... Not uninterested eyes, but he has a much better hold of himself, he doesn't really act differently or is trying to seduce him further, it's just kind of in the back of his mind for now.
However he IS getting pissed off at Adam's attitude and how he's CLEARLY avoiding him. He briefly wonders if it's because he's just being a fucking brat.
This goes on for AT LEAST two weeks until Adam says something stupid and tries to flee from Lucifer's presence again and Lucifer is like "okay that's it".
Lucifer pulls Adam to a room with just the two of them alone and they have this discussion:
"okay, this is getting ridiculous. Fucking spill it."
"I don't know what the fuck you're talking about! Let me go already!"
"Not until you tell me what's got your panties in a twist. Come on it's been weeks."
"NOTHING! Goddammit-! This is fucking stupid!"
"Adam I'm not an idiot, please just-"
Lucifer tries to grab his arm but Adam flinches away from it.
"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME! YOU-!" he yells, loudly, and there's a very obvious blush on his face.
Lucifer looks at him, really looks at him, and then it all clicks for him.
"Holy shit, are you telling me-"
"IM NOT SAYING SHIT. LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE."
"No fucking way," Lucifer's face starts breaking into a smile. "For real? That little teasing got to you this bad?"
"I DON'T-! NO! SHUT UP!"
"Ohoho, this is so rich! Who would've thought!" Lucifer smirks, getting closer to Adam and adopting a much more flirty demeanor. "That the so called Dickmaster would want a piece of lil ol me?"
"SHUT UP FREAK, OF COURSE I DO NOT!"
"Hey, no judgement here, you should've just told me you needed to get laid that badly instead of piss and moan for days. Really buddy, it would've made things so much easier."
"LIKE HELL IT WOULD! I don't want you near me! Get away from me!"
Lucifer cocks an eyebrow but doesn't flinch, he starts circling Adam, as if he was prey. Adam just follows his shadow, still trying to hold on to his little secret. When Lucifer speaks again, it seems to come from everywhere at once.
"If you insist, I'll leave you alone for now. But really Adam, you just say the word and I'll make you reach Heaven again. I'll make you see more stars than you ever knew existed. See more colors than there are in the rainbow."
Adam gulps, and he panics internally when he realizes that he's starting to get hard. However, Lucifer doesn't seem to notice because then he feels Lucifer squeezing his ass, eliciting a yelp from him, and then next thing he knows Lucifer is back at the door frame, all the tension in the room dissipating.
"My door's always open! Well then, pal! Hope ya get your shit together! Don't make daddy mad~" he adds that last part with a velvety tone, and then disappears.
"Fuck..."
Not a full 24 hrs pass before Adam is knocking quietly in Lucifer's door (his new temporary room in the hotel) and Lucifer greets him with a smirk. They close and lock the door behind them. The end.

Would absolutely compliment Buddy’s choice in clothing. Out of the entire outfit, Swerve’s more drawn to the random streaks of color that he sees on Buddy’s outfits.
“Hey Buddy!”--Swerve

“What streaks do we have today? Purple? Navy blue? Or are we doing traditional Charcoal black today?”--Swerve
“Oh, I tried some cherry red this time. Your paintjob gave me some inspiration, so I used the darker color of your red.”--Buddy

“Of course! Sure the red was a bit bold at first but with a bit of tweaking I got it dark enough to compliment the outfit!”--Buddy

Tailgate
Tailgate finds the outfit to resemble a lot like Cyclonus.
It’s dark, meant to be intimidating, and edgy. But just like his taste in aesthetics, Tailgate finds Buddy’s outfits adorable!
He has definitely taken Buddy to see Cyclonus so he can see Buddy be a ‘mini Cyclonus’.
Tailgate nearly tore the medbay doors seeing the alarming blush covering Buddy’s face. He thought Buddy might have been sick.
He is a fan of the cute fishnets Buddy has.
“Let’s try on theses ones next!”--Tailgate
“How about we take a break Tailgate? We’ve been trying on different fishnets for the last half hour.”--Buddy
“But we need to find the cutest one for your outfit! I mean how can you say no to these ones?”--Tailgate
“… give me the nets.”--Buddy
“Yeah!”--Tailgate
Rewind
Rewind has seen enough Earth movies at Swerve’s movie nights to be familiar with the style.
Not his style of preference, but its still a nice style.
Buddy gave him the rundown of the basics on the goth style while showing him some of their other articles of clothing and accessories.
For research purposes, Rewind asks Buddy to try on several outfits and accessories so he could document them. This is totally not because he has suddenly gotten invested in the different types of clothing that go under the goth category. Nope not at all.
Buddy knows this, but this also gives them an excuse to try some new clothing combinations.
Win-win situation.
He likes the different corsets Buddy has.
“Oh, I like that one!”--Rewind
“Really? This one get kind of itchy after a while.”--Buddy
“How about the one with silver studs in the middle with the silver chainmail?”--Rewind
“Hmm. Haven’t tried that combination yet. Well, I’ll try it on for the video.”—Buddy

Cyclonus
Cyclonus is introduced to the style after Tailgate showed him Buddy’s new style.
He had to admit that part of the style did seem to copy him in a weird way.
He likes the style and aesthetics of the goth style. Cyclonus has been one of Buddy’s supporters in trying and mixing different sub styles of goth together.
Do some of them end up going together? Yes.
Do some look like dumpster fire? Also, yes.
Secretly like the shiny silver jewelry Buddy has adorned on their body.
“Cyclonus! Cyclonus!”--Buddy
“Buddy?”--Cyclonus
“You won’t believe what I found in my jewelry box while cleaning out the silver studs!”--Buddy
“Hmm?”--Cyclonus
Pulls out a silver necklace with a skull that is shaped similar to Cyclonus’s faceplate.
“That’s…”--Cyclonus
“It’s cool right! I mean it’s like I’ll always have a part of you with me!”--Buddy
Trying to process cuteness because he was going to say uncanny--Cyclonus
Drift
Drift is familiar with the style.
He had seen plenty of humans using the style while he was on Earth.
The only problem he had with it was that a lot of the humans he encountered wearing the style gave off a bad aura. Not all, but a good portion.
He is glad Buddy isn’t giving off the bad aura.
Drift likes seeing Buddy experiment with the article of clothing especially ones with different textures. So many unique feelings under one’s digit at once.
He is a huge face of the makeup, specifically the makeup around the eyes. He is surprisingly good at doing them too.
“Drift, have you seen—”--Ratchet

Request: could you do a fic where reader gets hurt from matt’s work and he keeps blaming himself and reader comforts him?

Summary: Matt is in serious need of comfort when he blames himself for your injuries. (Someone pls hug this man he NEEEEEDS it)
(Warnings: angst (what’s new lmfao), some mentions of violence, matt leans heavy into self-hatred in this one, fluffy matt, matt makes pancakes at the end lol) 
The drip from the leaky faucet in the corner of your cell was beginning to grate on your nerves. You’d already tried everything to get it to stop – slamming your shoe on it repeatedly, twisting the handles all the way around, trying to pull the entire thing from the wall. It was no use. The water kept coming, and you kept waiting for it to stop. 
It had been two days since you’d last seen Matt – two days since you’d interfered with his mission and gotten yourself kidnapped by some low-level cartel members. Your stomach hadn’t stopped rumbling, and the little sleep you had been able to get was restless.  
The guys who kidnapped you weren’t particularly interested in you. They had thrown you in the windowless cell and mostly ignored you since then, but you could hear them moving around on the floor above you at all hours of the day. You had to give them credit – they might be idiots, but they were observant enough to recognize that Daredevil cared about you. That’s why they grabbed you, and that’s why you were kicking yourself for getting involved in Matt’s business.
You hadn’t really been trying to get involved. Truly. Matt may be a hot mess, but he was always on time, and when he never showed up for your dinner date, you got worried. A gnawing concern ate at your stomach as you walked around Hell’s Kitchen searching for any sign of him. The next thing you knew, a knife was being held to your throat and Matt was being beaten into the concrete in front of you.  
You had distracted him, and it had gotten both of you hurt. Or killed. You didn’t know where Matt was. You tried not to think about it – the idea that your life partner could be dead because of your mistake. Instead, you focused on the pattern the goons in the room upstairs were making on the ceiling.  
Three steps to the left, two forward, three to the right. Maybe they were dancing? You hadn’t been able to figure it out, but the pattern had grown to be a soothing white noise in the background of this living hell.  
A thud on the ceiling startled you out of your lightheaded haze, followed shortly by the unmistakable scream of one of the men upstairs. The sounds that followed were as terrifying as they were relieving. He was here. You crawled to your feet, leaning on the wall for support and listening to the screams as they got closer and closer to you. 
Your knees buckled as Matt’s broad frame kicked through the door. He was a sight to behold in his full Daredevil gear, crimson colored and scary as hell. You whimpered as he fell to his knees in front of you, one hand resting on your cheek while the other held your body weight up.  
“Tell me you’re okay. Tell me they didn’t hurt you, sweetheart.” Matt’s voice cracked as he looked you over for injuries. 
The lower half of Matt’s face, the part that was visible with the mask on, was covered in scruff. You could tell he hadn’t shaved since the last time he saw you. Probably hadn’t eaten or slept either. Tears finally began to stream down your cheeks. He was here, and he was breathing, and he was okay.  
“Matty.” Your throat was dry and scratchy from the hours you had spent screaming at your captors, begging them to free you. 
Matt lifted you in his arms, cradling you against his chest and walking out of the cell and towards the back of the building. The unconscious bodies in the hallway were enough to remind you how dangerous Matt could be when he let the devil out, but you weren’t afraid. You would never be afraid of Matt. 
When Matt exited the building, you were expecting the sunlight to temporarily blind you, but it was almost as dark outside as it was in your dingy cell. You were about to ask Matt how far away from home you were when you realized he was headed directly towards a parked car around the corner. 
Foggy jumped out of the driver’s seat, hurrying to open the back door so Matt could climb in with you. 
“Is she okay?” he asked, swallowing thickly. 
“She’s-” Matt’s voice was gruff, “She’s alive,” he finally said, leaning forward to climb into the car. He didn’t let go of you, even when he sat down and Foggy had pulled away from the curb. He just tightened his grip on you, pulling you even closer to his body. The ache to touch him grew in you tenfold when you realized how exhausted you both were. You lightly began tracing the bottom of the mask, tugging the material over Matt’s head. 
He was always beautiful, but you could see the strain of the last few days in the way he hung his head low. His eyes, usually so pretty and full, were muted in color and half-lidded.  
“Did you sleep at all while I was gone, my love?” You mumbled, scratching the scruff on his cheeks and chin. 
“I had to find you. It wasn’t an option.” He bit out, trying to hide the groan crawling up his throat at your touch.  
“I’m sorry I-” You started, tears welling up in your eyes. 
“Don’t apologize,” Matt sounded distraught, “Why are you apologizing? It’s me who should be begging on my knees for your forgiveness.” A tear made its way down his cheek, falling onto your shoulder.  
You furrowed your brow, glancing at Foggy, who was doing his very best to look like he wasn’t overhearing a very intimate conversation between his best friends. 
“I don’t understand, Matty,” You finally responded, wiping under his eyes with your thumbs. 
“I’m meant to protect you. That’s my job, and I failed. You got hurt, and it’s my fault, and I wouldn’t blame you if you left me the minute we get home. I am undeserving of anyone’s love, but most of all yours.” 
Stunned silence filled the car. Matt’s eyes were squeezed shut, trying and failing to stop the overflow of tears falling down his face. Foggy’s expression was one of pure concentration as he navigated New York City traffic, but his frequent glances in the mirror read as a deep concern for his friend. 
“Matty, hey, don’t do that. I’m the one that messed up. I followed you when I should’ve trusted that you would be okay. It was my fault, not yours.” 
“Stop.” He gritted out, resting his head on the headrest behind him.  
You fell silent, resting your head on his chest. He couldn’t be rational when he was this worked up, and you were so exhausted that you didn’t want to argue with him.  
Foggy pulled around the back of Matt’s apartment building and you reached for Matt’s mask. Even though the clock on the dashboard said it was 3:42 in the morning, you couldn’t risk Matt being seen by anyone without his mask on. You pulled it onto his face, planting a soft kiss on his cheek when you were finished.  
When Foggy opened the door, you moved to climb out yourself, but Matt wouldn’t let you budge. He climbed out, still holding you against his body.  
“I’m not made of glass, ya know,” you said, scoffing at Matt’s unwillingness to let you go and then turning to Foggy, “Thank you, Foggy. We can talk...later?” 
“Yeah, yep. Mhmm.” Foggy was looking between you and Matt, scrunching his eyebrows together in what you could only describe as a mix of confusion and concern. You smiled, nodding at him reassuringly even though dread was beginning to build in your gut.  
Matt swiftly carried you through the apartment building, refusing to set you down until he had locked the door behind him with the deadbolt, and even then, he would only set you down on the couch.  
As soon as he let you go, you jumped to your feet, immediately swaying with exhaustion. Matt sighed, pulling his mask off and shaking his head. 
“How long has it been since you slept, sweetheart?” He asked, unbuttoning his suit and pulling the different pieces of it off one at a time. 
“I don’t...” you started, trying to blink the exhaustion from your eyes, “I don’t know.” 
He tugged on your hand, leading you to the bedroom, where you collapsed onto the bed with a sigh.  
“Matty, the sheets.” You tried to push yourself off, not wanting to stain his sheets with the scent of that awful place, but he lightly pushed you back down.  
“Don’t worry about them. Sleep, sweetheart.” He pressed a kiss onto your forehead, resting his lips there for a few seconds longer than normal. You realized when he stood and didn’t move towards the door that he would continue standing there until you fell asleep.  
Luckily for him, your eyes were on their way to closing whether you liked it or not, so you let the exhaustion wash over your body and drifted off to sleep almost immediately.

When you woke, you couldn’t figure out what day it was, or how much time had passed since you’d fallen asleep. The sheets had been changed, and you were wearing one of Matt’s big T-shirts. Matt was sitting on the other side of the bed, back pressed against the headboard. He was clean shaven and wearing new clothes, but he still looked exhausted.  
“Did you sleep at all?” You asked, pushing your body into a sitting position. The soreness in your muscles startled you. You hadn’t noticed the stiffness earlier, but the adrenaline pumping through your veins was probably the only thing that kept you going for as long as you did. That, or you had been asleep for much longer than you realized. 
“Some.” He responded, finally looking in your direction. 
You crawled forward, swinging your leg over his hips so you could straddle him. It wasn’t a sexual movement, and Matt knew that. You had spent many mornings in this exact position, holding each other and talking about everything and nothing all at the same time. Matt’s hands brushed over your exposed thighs, settling on your waist.  
“You shaved.” You pointed out, eyeing his expression. You hadn’t forgotten the conversation from the car, and you weren’t planning on moving until you and Matt had finished talking.  
“You don’t remember?” he asked, tilting his head. 
“I guess not.” 
“A few hours after you fell asleep, you got up begging to take a shower. I changed the sheets and shaved while you did that.” 
“Oh.” You mumbled. Your hands toyed with the hair at the nape of Matt’s neck.  
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart.” Matt’s face had fallen so quickly that it broke your heart. He buried his head in your shoulder, wrapping you in a hug in the same motion. “I’m so, so sorry. Could you ever forgive me?”  
“Matty,” you sighed, hugging him tightly, “There’s nothing to forgive. You saved me before anything really bad could happen.” 
“What if I couldn’t find you? What if you died in that cell because I couldn’t make it in time?” He pressed his forehead against yours and let out a shuttering breath. He was seconds away from breaking completely. 
“Baby, you did find me, and I’m okay. I only have a few bumps and bruises. You saved me, Matt.” 
Matt’s face contorted into a mask of rage – not at you, but at himself.
“I promised I would protect you. That’s the most important promise I’ve ever made, even more than any promises I’ve ever made to God, and I broke it.” His voice cracked and he tightened his hold around you. 
“Matty, you saved me. And you wouldn’t have had to protect me if I hadn’t gone looking for you. I knew you were working a dangerous case and I went anyways. This isn’t your fault, baby.” 
Matt’s body shook as he cried into your shoulder. He was hugging you so tightly that not even God himself could’ve pried his fingers away from you. You couldn’t tell how much time was passing, but you didn’t mind. You kissed Matt’s hair, ran your hands up and down his back, and hugged him back just as tightly. You would do this forever if you had to.  
When Matt finally righted himself and sat back, his eyes were swollen and red. You couldn’t help the kisses you placed on his eyelids. He just looked so pretty, and he always relaxed under your touch, so you leaned in, planting a kiss on his lips.  
“I love you.” Matt whispered, squeezing your waist for emphasis.  
“I love you, Matty.” You smiled, kissing him again. Your stomach loudly growled, and Matt gave you a small smile.  
“You’re hungry, sweetheart.” 
“I guess I am.” You giggled. 
“Want some pancakes?” he asked, bringing his lips to yours again.  
You suddenly looked around, trying to figure out what time of day it was.  
“How long did I sleep for?” You finally asked after not being able to figure out if it was dawn or dusk.  
“You slept most of the day away. It’s probably around 6 or 7 now.” Your stomach growled again.  
“Then hell yes, I want some pancakes.” You jumped off Matt, tugging him out of bed with you. You pulled him in for another kiss. “But only if I get to see your pretty smile first.” 
Matt’s grin melted your heart. It always did, but after what you both went through over the last few days, seeing him smile again was like rain after a drought.  
“There it is.” You mumbled, matching his grin.  
You could’ve sworn a blush crept up Matt’s neck, but you didn’t want to make him so embarrassed that he couldn’t make your pancakes, so instead of mentioning it, you pulled him towards the kitchen, squeezing his hand the entire way. He didn’t let go, even when you sat down to eat. Later, when his exhaustion finally caught up to him, you snuggled next to him in bed, refusing to let go of him for the rest of the night.

SloMo WriNo: Getting Into The Writing Zone

A week into the challenge, and how are you doing?
From talking to people in the discord I’ve been hearing a similar sentiment phrased in different ways. That it’s hard to muster the self discipline to sit down and write day after day, that it’s hard to get the first words out, or to even hard to open the laptop.
If you’re not used to writing daily, after the first excitement wears off it starts to feel quite hard. And as one person said: sometimes it doesn’t feel worth it to go through the effort of starting if you’re only going to write 200 words anyway.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that it will get easier if you stick with it. The bad news? Establishing a new habit takes work.
But here are some tips that I find helpful. (And if they look awfully similar to how to get past executive dysfunction? That’s because it’s more or less the same thing.) You don't have to implement all of them, and you won't find any secret shortcuts here. But if you're struggling, try a few things.
To start with it’s a good idea to create some small rituals and a ‘writing space’ that cue your mind and body that this is writing time. Now I’ve talked previously about being adaptable and writing at times and in places that you might not consider ideal. So how does that work for creating a writing space?
No matter where you are you can create a writing environment. Make the background color of your writing document a different color from what you use for work or play. (one you find soothing and pleasant). Make a playlist that you only listen to while writing. (Or alternatively choose something specific from an ambient sounds mixer). If you can, change your body position and location. If you normally work or do homework sitting at a desk, try standing to write, or sitting on the floor, couch, bed. Relocate to a different room, or even (and this is lux level) a different place.
If at all possible, write offline. If you can’t do that, mute or close any tabs that will ding or flash with notifications.
I’ve been told that the hands down best way to do this is having a separate laptop or tablet that you only use for writing. I’ve never done that (that pesky money thing) but if you have the finances for that it might be worth trying.
Once you’re all set up to write, set a timer, for a relatively short period of time. Somewhere in the 15-30 minutes zone, and promise yourself that all you have to do is write for that time period. If it’s not working after that you don’t have to continue. In fact, if you’re really tired/not feeling it you don’t have to write at all! Simply read over your writing from the previous session (with full permission to tweak as you wish) and then make some notes for what ideas you have about what comes next.
The trick here is obvious, usually if you get as far as looking at your words, then you end up writing a bit. But if you’re really not feeling it, do not break that promise to yourself, either by forcing yourself to write, or by feeling guilty about not writing. It makes it all the more harder to convince yourself next time if you know deep down that you’re making false promises.
What’s the point of going through all that and then not writing? Or even what is the point of it all to only write 2-300 words?
Habit.
Right now you're building a habit. Once the habit is established, it will get easier and easier to slip into the writing zone with a few cues, and easier still to write those 2-300 words without a lot of painful decision-making, stern self-discipline, or ugh, willpower. But it will take time to get there. Weeks, or maybe even longer. Do your best to find a way to stick with it.
It can help a lot if you have a buddy or group to report to. (Obligatory WIP discord mention.) Sometimes I just need to message a friend and say ‘tell me to write’ to get me past the initial inertia. (If they can write at the same time as you that’s a huge bonus!)
As I said at the beginning, nothing about any of this is new or unique advice. You’ve no doubt seen most, if not all of it before. And you can feel a little silly trying to trick your subconscious with playlists and screen colors. But it works for a lot of people. (including me!) So what have you got to lose?
(and it should go without saying, if what you’re feeling is bigger than trouble with writing, seek professional help. Your mental health is more important than any writing project.)

happy belated halloween! i took adderall for the first time in weeks and instead of working on my projects i drew my interpretation/slight redesign of greavard and my overhauled redesign of houndstone!

Greavard
i decided to not spend too much energy trying to keep the "pokemon art style" so i could focus my energy on making him look good
i wanted to keep the core features and make him still recognizable as greavard
i also wanted to stay consistent with the trend of puppy pokemon evolving into a dog pokemon, with the puppy still being passable as a full grown itself (eg: yamper, lillipup, houndour)
my biggest problems lied with how cartoony he looked, so i fixed this by giving him more realistic proportions but still keeping them "puppy-like" by giving him big paws and ears, which are the defining features that puppies have that indicate how big they will be when they grow up
the candle looked stupid and clumsily done, so i made it feel a bit more natural by having it look more realistically like a candle and have the melting wax turn into fur. originally i wanted to have his bangs also be melting wax and make that more of a part of his design, with his fur also looking like dripping wax, but that felt like it would stray too far from the core design
more ghost-like features! i gave him a big long translucent tongue and made his fur turn wispy at the ends of his ears and tail. considered doing this to his "cape" of fur too but it cluttered the design too much
i also considered giving him some kind of chains and shackles like i did with my church grim fakemon i made years ago, but it didn't feel fitting for greavard since his evolution is supposed to be the spirit of a dearly loved pokemon. it made sense for a church grim because theyre supposed to guard graveyards, and their spirits are bound to the graveyard that they're buried at
Houndstone
So I did originally just try and tweak houndstone's design, but every attempt I made just kept getting shafted by the stupid tombstone that looked like a stupid little hat. So he needed an overhaul
Houndstone's dex entry says "A lovingly mourned Pokémon was reborn as Houndstone." Maybe this one evolved after nobody loved him as a greavard (since they sap your life force) and his loneliness caused him to take on a malevolent evolution?
I wanted to keep the mound he had because bulbapedia says it might be referencing a type of burial mound. But in his canon design it makes him look like he has a camel hump. So I transferred it to his shoulders to give him a hyena-like body type, to make it more pronounced, make his silhouette more dynamic, and to make his draped mane look cooler
Gave him more realistic proportions, just like with greavard. No more stupid giant head
Gave him pointy teeth instead of the silly nubbins to make the "malevolent" part more appearant
Replaced his stupid headstone with a candle with a bigger flame. Maybe it's bigger from stealing the life force from so many possible trainers? Also gave him a row of candles down his back to help him look more like an "upgraded" evolution of greavard
Longer bone tail because it's cool
The sprites with the flat colors and his in-game sprites showed his fur as completely white with purple spots on his back and head. I thought the official art was cooler with the color variance so I used that instead
Just realized I forgot to add wisps to the ends of his ear like greavard's but I don't care anymore

Update Time, Update Time
Welcome back, everyone. Hope you all had a very happy New Years! I come bearing a late present for you all: A Versotale update!
Game Progress
As I anticipated, I needed to take a break around the middle of November so I could focus on schoolwork. Now that we've been on break for a little while again and will continue to be for the better part of January, I've already gotten a sizable chunk of stuff done. Still not as much as I would've LIKED to have completed - There are still like only three fully-completed rooms at the moment, and even then they have a ton of WIP assets and first-pass dialogue and all - but, that is the way of coding a game solo, mostly from scratch, and with the occasional glances at Undertale's code, isn't it?
Unfortunately, while I really want to share stuff with you guys, it's all in some way a spoiler that I don't want to spoil for the people who'd rather experience everything fresh for themselves.
...
So, if you DO wanna experience everything fresh for yourself, feel free to bow out of this post here. If you're sticking around, enjoy some mild spoiler-y content, some character designs, and some fun vague allusions to things I still really wanna talk about! I need to give you guys SOMETHING after this long wait, right?
Game Progress: Slightly Spoiler-y Edition
The OPENING CUTSCENE you saw a while back has been tweaked slightly to make Hercine more likable, and so the dialogue can flow a bit more naturally.
Two new cutscenes have been added to the beginning, albeit with some rough visuals. These three all flow into each other, and if you're speaking through each line of dialogue, they only take up about six minutes total. Still, it is a TAD bit too long for my liking without any gameplay behind it, so there's a chance I might cut a cutscene or switch the order of things around so there's a brief gameplay section before the last one. Who knows.
Undyne has been redesigned. Undyne now sports some less bulky armor that combines aspects of her canon casual and armored forms. If she's gonna be there the entire game, she may as well have a visually-interesting design rather than the blob of bluish-grey her armor used to be. I'm sure some people will consider this a downgrade, which is always the risk you run when you redesign a character you've already shown off... but I personally just can't stand working with that old design any longer. The colors barely pop, it looks messy, the armor's boring and flat-colored and almost even blends into her scales, etc.

You didn't get to see the outdated Frisk design I had for this iteration of the project, and I'm glad you didn't, because upon writing more of their scenes and reconfiguring their personality, I HAD to redesign them again. I don't anticipate this one changing ANY time soon, but, as with Undyne, no promises.

Next up, some important human characters in the first area that AREN'T Frisk! You'll meet them later on, and I really hope you all end up liking them and the story behind them! In the meantime, here, have their designs. Again, they might change, but I'm comfortable with these for now.

That's all I feel comfortable showing off for the first area at the moment! I'm hoping to record everything up until the first save point and post it on YouTube at some point before the end of January (Again, as I must reiterate, in its very unfinished form), but no promises!
While that's all for the first area, I have been poking around with redesigning some of the later characters you guys have not even seen yet. Particularly, the primary antagonist of the new Cold West. I have to admit, I was a little worried that, if I didn't switch up his design, people would start comparing him to Clover since Undertale Yellow is still fresh in a lot of our memories right now, but... I think you guys will really like "The long scarf of the law." He's a fun character.

Hi there! I've belatedly seen your question about coloring, and I'm someone who likes to tweak color, so in case it helps, I thought I'd write up some things I might do. I don't know if you have the same tools I have, but I saw you use Color Balance, so I've used that for an example below. I usually start by adjusting lighting levels so that the lightest and darkest points are where I hope them to end up. Then I'd adjust color hues which in your case was using the Color Balance tool. I might also adjust the saturation or vibrance because too much can cause colors to get extreme quickly. Here are some quick settings I did in Photoshop.
Levels: dark point=19, mid point=1.37, light point=249, output levels=18 to 255
Color Balance: shadows red+13, green+5, blue-4; midtones red-8, green-9, blue+3; highlights red-60, green-28, blue-25
Saturation: reds-8, master-4

WOW, your results are incredible! Thank you so much for taking the time to play with this and to offer some tips! Adjusting lighting before trying to adjust colors hadn't occurred to me at all.
I'm using Adobe Premiere for the video editing, so same software company at least, but I couldn't find any lighting level settings like what you described. Through Googling, it looks like a setting called "Lumetri Color" is typically used for lighting corrections and it's broken out differently.
I have to go to work pretty soon, so I haven't had sufficient time to really dig into it and play with it, but I did mess around with it a tiny bit. I'll play more this weekend and see if I can get closer to what you were able to accomplish.
For reference, my original adjusted version (which I can see now looks soooo horribly orangey compared to yours!):

As a starting point, I just clicked the friendly "Auto" button on the Lumetri Color tab to see what it would do. A little better, still pretty orangey.

Then I tried to make some of the color adjustments that worked for you. It looked like your adjustments had been based on my adjusted version, so I'm not sure if my attempt at making it a direct mathematical adjustment was the right way to go, but I tried to add your adjustment #'s on top of my adjustments. So for example, I'd had Shadow Red set to -10 and since you said you added 13, I changed it to 3. When I changed all 9 settings it didn't improve too much, definitely nothing like yours:

But while applying those changes, I noticed that before I applied the last two (highlight green and blue), it looked closer to what you had. Still not there yet, but closer.

Once I have time, I'll play with some of the Lumetri sliders and stuff a bit more. It may also help just to have your beautiful image as a reference point. Thanks so much!
Addendum: Additional Efforts
I spent some more time playing with this. I present two versions for your judgment.
The first version isn't exactly like yours, but it looked pretty close to my eyes. So I was happy for a minute or two. Then when I started watching the video instead of just staring at the still frame, I felt like it looked a little too green. Maybe that's because I've spent so many hours staring at my previous orangey version that my idea of what looks normal is skewed.
So in version two I adjusted the Tint setting. I feel like this looks a little better, especially when I watch the video, but I don't trust my judgment at all. My color judgment was bad before, and now I think my eyes are permanently warped from staring at different shades for so long.
I'm including both versions below. For each version I'm including a side-by-side comparison with your example vs mine. I wanted to include a video clip for both, but it looks like tumblr limits it to 1 video, so I only included the video for version 2.
Please don't be afraid to tell me they both look horrible! I feel sort of like the proverbial monkey hitting a bunch of random keys and hoping I might hit upon Shakespeare by pure random chance. 😅

Remoraid is named after a remora, as emphasized by the name and its connection with Mantine... though oddly enough, it lacks the remora's iconic sucker fins. This is particularly strange considering that such fins would tie it into Octillery more (as octopuseseses also have suckers).
Regardless, Remoraid is fine, albeit a bit bland. The color is pleasant and there's nothing wrong with it objectively (though the "humped" back is a little strange), but there's not that much to make it stand out. This is likely because this is what the beta looked like:

That's right: Pokemon Gun(TM) edition was once real. The gun thing is still kind of in the final design—the stripes are the barrel grooves, the bottom fins are the trigger, etc.—but it's very subtle, to the point where you might not pick up on it at all unless its specifically pointed out.
There are elements of the final design that I think are better than the beta: the back fins look considerably more natural and make more sense for a living creature, for example. But at the end of the day, the theme isn't strong enough to make it stand out. Even just making it grey, keeping the mouth open, and giving it one bottom fin would've helped it read better without being as obvious with it. I get that they didn't want to have a gun in a children's game, but then why keep it in at all?

A lot of people think that Octillery is too "random" to work as an evolution, which is once again a side effect of the beta theming being lost. The original line was supposed to go gun -> tank:

And just like Remoraid, I feel like the loss of the theme leaves a fairly bland Pokemon behind. There's really not much that makes Octillery stand out compared to other cartoon Japanese octopuseseses; even Remoraid at least had a few small elements going for it.
I've heard some say that Remoraid to Octillery "doesn't make sense", which personally, I don't get; Pokemon is a series wherein a chick becomes a Man at the end of its line. There is a bit of a disconnect here, but that's just because of the lost theme and the two not having many visual connections to each other. If they were the same color, Remoraid had a rounder mouth shape to matter match Octillery's, and Octillery had stripes like Remoraid, they would fit together just fine. As is, the only real connection is the line on the face (though side note: I do like how it curls up into the eyelid a lot).
What I think this line could really use is a regional. While giving Remoraid a different regional evo is the obvious pick, even just giving the line a new theme and tweaking the designs in the process could help with coherency and memorability a lot. The final 'mons are so plain that you can take them in basically any direction and have it work perfectly. Give me like, a parasitic Remoraid that attaches to Mantine and then evolves into Octillery to wrap its tentacles around it for an easy meal or something.
Overall, neither Remoraid or Octillery have bad designs, but they both feel underwhelming due to the original themes from the beta being removed. There's a ton of potential with these two, so I hope GameFreak takes some time to revisit them in the future.

So today I decided to redraw my versions of the North and South Dragons as Cookies, whom I call Choco Creme and Milk Creme respectively
Yeah I basically completely redesigned them, but to be honest I quite like these new designs. I also like the old ones too, but I think I’m gonna more retool them for their normal Cookie disguises. Also I may or may not have stolen the diamonds in the eye thing from @deadshadowcreature ‘s designs of the dragons, which I found recently and really like
With the hair, I was planning on giving them the same hair, but I had two different ideas and I wasn’t sure which one I liked more, so I just gave them each different ones. They’re supposed to just be me trying to interpret their hair/scales/whatever as actual hair
I wanted to draw these guys again because of the Might of the Ancients thing in the recent update mentioning them again, and giving us a bit of lore surrounding them and Dark Cacao, as well as confirming their powers. From what I can gather, their powers are black lightning and the snow/cold, though it’s not entirely clear which controls what. I assume though it’s the North Dragon with lightning and the South Dragon with the snow, just given the corresponding colors. Funny enough, I actually headcanoned that one of them had power over snow, so I was surprised to have actually gotten that right. I said the other one controlled ice since I thought they’d both have a “cold” motif, but eh, I still got one of them, so that’s something
If you want to hear my personal headcanons for these guys, I’ll just tell you here, since I’ve thought about it a bit more since I last talked about them
So Choco Creme and Milk Creme are twins dragons, both being born from the same egg. Their parent was whom I call the Cookie Creme Dragon, a gargantuan dragon who laid to rest on the northeastern part of Crispia, and their body eventually became the Giant Icing Ridge (this was mostly due to me misinterpreting something about Dark Cacao splitting the two apart as being literal and they were once one dragon, then me just working with that idea). Thankfully they are nowhere near the Cookie Creme’s size (at least not yet). Originally I said that Choco Creme was older, but given they hatched from the same egg, I’m pretty sure they’re the exact same age. But Choco Creme still acts like the older one. Also, Choco Creme is a girl while Milk Creme is a boy
I said before that I headcanon the two dragons as being Dark Cacao’s older siblings. Now granted, nothing in the new Might of the Ancients implies that Dark Cacao knew the dragons prior to the story (I feel like it’s supposed to be when he stopped their fighting and founded the Dark Cacao Kingdom, but at the same time I’m pretty sure he had the Grapejam Chocoblade at that point, and as we see in the flashback, Dark Cacao doesn’t have that yet, so I’m not entirely sure when it’s supposed to take place). However, technically there’s nothing that disproves it, so screw it I’m still sticking with it. Basically at some point when the two were young, they were exploring the wilds of the land during a blizzard, when they found this thing lying in the snow, which was a very young Dark Cacao Cookie, unconscious. They were curious about it, so they picked it up and took it back with them. Eventually it woke up and after that point, as it didn’t seem to want to leave, they decided to keep it, eventually becoming their youngest brother, as well as their smallest (when taking on Cookie form, they intentionally make themselves at least slightly taller than Dark Cacao, just to be petty)
Edit: about the whole Might of the Ancients, I watched a collection of the cutscenes, and okay no it seems to all be just before they did the thing that ended up founding their kingdoms, and watching Dark Cacao’s cutscene, yeah I’m pretty sure he’s never seen them before this. So what I say here is kind of invalid by canon standards, but eh. Maybe this is an au or something. Or I’ll tweak the backstory to fit canon better. Or I’ll just stretch things and keep it how I have them
As for whether or not Dark Cacao is a dragon or just a normal Cookie, I’m still not sure, and no one here really knows, all they know is that he and his siblings aren’t syrup related
As for the dragons themselves, Choco Creme is a rather cold individual, known for never smiling. She’s kind of the one Dark Cacao inherited the grumpy attitude from. In contrast to her brothers she is not one for violence, preferring to settle things with words (mostly because she just doesn’t see the point in all that effort). However that’s not to say there isn’t an end to her patience, and when she reaches that, all hell breaks loose. As for Milk Creme, he’s probably the most upbeat of the three, but that isn’t really saying much as the bar for that is that he actually smiles semi-regularly (young Dark Choco had them all beat). But he also can be pretty friendly and looks for excitement. He’s also one of the quickest to violence, whether it’s out of anger or he just wants to. He probably taught Dark Cacao about the usefulness of violence, something he toned down but still definitely finds use in.
I’m thinking now that the two do from time to time take on normal Cookie forms, just to see how things are going in the kingdom. They don’t have that much interest in the prosperity of the kingdom itself, but they like to see how their brother’s running it. Unfortunately recently they haven’t felt much want to. I’ll draw those normal forms at a later date, but I’m thinking they either choose to closer resemble Dark Cacao or they choose to look more like regular citizens of the kingdom, being chocolate and milk based respectively. I’ll try it out and see what works
But yeah, I think that’s it. Hope you like them!

So I've decided I might try posting more Reality shifting related stuff on here. I don't post often but I'll try to more often though we'll see how that goes knowing me 🤣
I wanted to explain my current dr (desired reality for those who are new) because it makes me excited talking about it!
Right now I am shifting to Demon slayer or Kimetsu no Yaiba.
On this dr I am a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.

My breathing style of Rage Breathing which I found online but tweaked it a little bit to fit more myself. I haven't worked out the forms yet but the gist of them is they make me stronger and faster than normal and if I get angry it gets even stronger. I also have a form that speeds up my body's natural healing. My own regeneration ability lol. But because it just speeds up the natural healing process it can make me tired or fatigued.

This is my hair and eye color but tinted more red than pink because Reds my favorite color.
My hair is a gradient from a light red/magenta color and gets darker or black the closer toy get to the ends. I also have some streak of white that are also black at the ends.
My eyes are a darker red/magenta color but while fighting they'll either glow their natural color or turn red.
My possible s/os are Rengoku, Sanemi, Tengen, and maybe Akaza as well? They're might be a few others but these are my current favorites.

Lemon and Cinna but make em ~magical~
Inspired by Cinna's post here: Click Me! This isn't a trick - Cinna requested that I (Bee) draw her as a magical girl! I decided to also draw Lemon as a magical boy, because...Siblins B) No anthro pony today, this is more along the lines of equestria girls, since i wanted this to look more anime and less MLP

🐝 Art rant, Design tips, and my thought process bc Cinna mentioned that Mocha struggles with outfit design:
Anime magical girls amiright? So, the design Mocha came up with was cute, I like the bright colors, an it gives off a lot of Star vs the forces of evil vibes. Im gonna be real clear here; this is not a diss on Mocha's magical girl design.
That being said, when I was drawing my version of magical girl Cinna I wanted her to look more anime magical girl, rather than SVTFOE. here were some things i kept in mind
Magical girls usually have one main color, with a few accent colors. Not always, but from what i've seen it's a really common design element that helps differentiate the characters and make them stand out within their show. This is especially the case with Magical girl shows that have a team of girls, and not just one girl. Things like Madoka Magica, Sailor moon, Most precure generations i've seen images of, Yuki yuna is a hero, etc.
Repeated patterns like polka dots or floral patterns, aren't common, but stripes (like along the edge of the skirt, or lining the bodice), and small accent designs ARE common.
Typically, magical girl outfits are very frilly and cutesy. Some would be more impractical in battle than others irl, but either way femininity and looking beautiful while still being super powerful is a big magical girl thing
I personally like looking at, drawing, and designing magical girls with more structured bodices, mock-corsets, or sort of armor(?) with short, flowy skirts. The illusion of practicality, if you will.
I didnt want to completely lose the stars and hearts that Mocha used in Cinna's original magical girl design, so I used those in her little accessories. I mostly kept the hair the same, it's very on-brand for magical girls. HOWEVER, I tweaked the purpley pinkish colors on the design to a darker reddish pink/magenta, since I felt that fit Cinna's coat color a little better. The colors in Mocha's design also heavily influenced what colors i picked for the final drawing.
Since Cinna's hair was made pink for this drawing, I decided to make her whole magical girl outfit be mostly pink. I used the blue and yellow from the pattern on her dress to determine what her accent colors would be. I struggled a little bit at first with color placement, but in the end I think it looks okay (if not a bit...easter-egg-y). If i were to redo this, i might ditch the yellow and just do pink and blue (excluding neutral tones).
Now for Lemon!
I wanted their outfit to contrast Cinna's. Since cinna has a lot of bright colors, I decided that Lemon was going to be restricted to red and yellow, with black making up most of the outfit. Also because Cinna has a very innocent outfit, that for the most part covers her pretty well, I gave Lemon a very revealing outfit.
Playing off of the structured bodices mentioned before, with mock-corsets n all that, i gave lemon a corset-inspired top that laces in the front instead of the back (Possibly both, since its not actually doing anything to compress). This allowed them to have an exposed chest and midriff. Since i wasnt giving Lemon their wings or feathers for this magical boy design, I decided to give them shoulder pads that resemble wings, and wing accessories on their corset and wand thing. The rest of the design was to mostly just to support the main aspects of the design and add visual flavor.
For the magical wand things, I just wanted something that went with the main outfits. Cinna's wand was inspired by the big ol staff she's holding in Mocha's drawing. Lemon's has a moon design to go with the black-heavy outfit, and wings for...obvious reasons. I imagine these could be used as wands for magical attacks, or the handles can be extended for swinging it around and whacking people.

Oh oh OH! I have been obsessed over my silly little guys and I need to get them OUT of my freaking System!!!!! Waaaaaaa!!!!
Okay okay so I'm making a little story and it's all about loss and war and change and the want to go back to some sort of "Normality". Like, how you can make your own normal, even through the chaos. Make a new better normal as long as you try and put the work into it..!
Oh it's so personal to me and it's been such a good outlet for my brain and AHH!! All of those good things and now I just want to show off the too many works of art I've made
Okay okay okay so first I need to go RAHHH about my main gay- I mean guy. (I should probably say now that none of the characters have names yet!! I want to wait a bit so I can give them names with meanings even though there's a chance I miiight not haha!) ANYWAY my deer boy oh how I love him so and his silly little egg shaped head I mean just!! Look at him!!! Ahh!!!

He's got tons of baggage and trauma up his sleeve it's almost funny. Dead dad, dead mom, and he's searching for his lost sister who ends up dead anyway? Poor boy. But it's okay because all of that was caused by a war his soon to be boyfriends dad started wahaha!!
And here's a quick glance at his sister for a moment.. her design is very much subject to change! I think I might change her outfit a bit and tweak a few facial features :]

She's still in a bunch of development (as is much of the rest of this world and story!) And at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep her! I'm still not sure.. a little worried she'll be in the way. But I imagine her as a sort of comedic relief character.. one that's silly but helps in the story in her own weird way!
Enough about her though.. We MUST talk about the Prince! Another gay who also has trauma! A dead mom, and unfortunately an alive dad who is NOT very supportive or kind in any sense of the word.

His mother was part of the royal DragonKin line (better name still in progress). A family history that arose from two ancient God like creatures, a Dragon and a Demoness, who gave birth to a child adorned with the twos features. As a gift to their kid, they made a whole new race based on his image. EXCEPT none shared his purple hue, for he was the only one allowed to adorn the color. As did his kin and their after. The more purple you are, the higher class you are basically.
MY that was alot and not even on the Prince theirself! He's very talented and well trained in many ways due to his father being a prick. He fights, plays piano, reads all sorts of books for his studies. A very jack of all trades character. Knows alot about what's going on, about war strategies, about why there's a war in the first place. He's a great foil for our main deer boy protagonist who knows NONE of that stuff.
And for a good little end point here's concept sketches for the Princes dad.. Though not true royalty, he's higher class since he was born into a noble knight family. One with high enough statis that once he became head of the gaurd, he was given the opportunity to marry the princess at the time :]

I started with a thumbnail I did in my sketchbook a few weeks ago. I did a page of six smaller thumbnails, then a larger take of my two faves, and this is the one that stuck! I redrew it from scratch on my actual paper, then masked off the edges so I'd have a nice clean picture.

The most important step one to working with oil pastels is to lay down the base colors for any scratch board technique you're gonna wanna do at the end! You can see the faint color of the transparent pastel I layered down absolutely everywhere I thought I might want to be able see white underneath- practically the whole paper on this one, with the stars I was planning! Then I put the bright colors over top that. If you put the color directly onto the paper, that's all that will ever show through!
I like working with bright colors in all mediums, but in oil pastel I like them underneath darker colors for richness and color variety-its also cool when they show through in scratch board, though with transparent underneath I largely planned for this to be more subtle
Kept the green only on Marc's side to subtly visually separate him from Khonshu

Filling in colors! I decided to change the stroke direction of the sky and ground to separate them more

Went over the entire sky with purple and blue, and filled in the ground with a tan. This begins to mute and mix the different colors, and creates a solid layer I can smudge to get rid of any clunky white gaps. At this point I had to leave it alone for an hour or two so the pastel could solidify and wouldn't smudge wildly if I tried to add anything on top of it!

Went over the entire sky with two shades of dark blue! ...Pthalo and Prussian, apparently. This let me continue to emphasize contrast and outlines, while still keeping some richness and depth. Having good sillouhettes of the figures was important here, and you can see where I started getting rid of the clouds so they wouldn't distract from the rest of the picture

Raised the arm, not for the figure itself, but so the shadows would be more interesting to look at! Did some shading in the figures, and tested out the scratch board for the stars and the temple- it worked great, thank goodness!
For scratch board, I literally use the same mechanical pencil I use for the sketch, just without lead! I also used a bit of sponge I had lying around to brush away the oil pastel bits that got scraped up, so they didn't gunk up the rest of the picture.

Fleshed out the foreground! At this stage, I took pictures of the drawing and put them into grayscale to make sure I was maintaining good contrast. The left side was a bit boring, so I made it darker- this works thematically for Khonshu, while also upping his visibility.
There were definitely more subtle ways I could have done Khonshu, and I struggled a bit to render without overworking, but I like where I ended up.
I also smudged out and re-scratched the temple so it would sit better!

Scratch board fun!!! Because I got rid of the clouds I needed some visual interest in the sky, so I added a star for each of the three of them- they're color coded to match the shadows I detailed as well! Is the 'multiple shadows' visual inspired directly by yugioh? Yes and with no shame, someone please give me this crossover!!!
And after some tweaking, detailing, and removing the tape- tadah!!!

Hi, I love your blog. (You were actually my inspiration to get into creating gifs.) I was wondering if you'd be willing to do some kind of tutorial for your coloring (backgrounds), especially with regards to your blended gifs. Your blues always look so bright and full but also soft? If that makes sense. I've tried a few blended/colored sets and either the color doesn't come through or it looks too harsh. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Firstly, I'm so glad that you've started making gifs!! Secondly, this process is a lot so I'm putting it under a read more so I can go over everything cause I am king of little tweaks to make things look just right. As long as you know basic gif making in photoshop you should be good to follow it!

So first things first, start off with your base gif. Just keep in mind this is a very much trust the process kind of work.
So start off and color your gif like you normally would. I'm using the right half of the first gif as an example. So, after normal coloring I have this.

The next thing you're going to do is add a selective colors layer
You want to play around with the black until you get a shade of the color you want. For this gif set I wanted to have blues so I played around and got these settings

This does objectively look awful, but it's got the shade of blue I'm looking for. Next thing is you want to set the layer to Color and play around with the opacity until it looks better.

I ended up going with 48% opacity and it now looks like this

So the the now it's got a bit of a blue tint to work with which I find makes the rest of the process blend together better.
At this point, I put the two gifs together on the same canvas and blend them together. (If you need a tutorial on that, just let me know! The only thing about that process which might be important to this is I set the gif that's on top to Screen and I have background which is set to black.)
So now that they're blended this is what I'm working with

What I'm going to do now is add a gradient map on top of both of these gifs. Mine looked like this:

You want black on the left hand side and the blue you're aiming for to be on the right. I now set this layer to Color and go into layer mask and erase the parts of the gif where I don't want the blue (so in this case, just roughly around his face because I'm not trying to make bucky look like he just stepped off the set of the new avatar movie.

This is what mine ended up looking like. Pretty subtle change, but it helps things blend! The best way I've found to do this is to use a soft round eraser and lower the opacity. Mine's at 50% right now. I think this helps to create a smoother gradient so the color doesn't have a harsh cut off to it.

Now, I'm going to create a new layer on top of the gradient map and use the blue that I used in the gradient map. I then set this layer to Color as well.

Since I don't want his face blue, I mostly only colored in towards the bottom of the gif. I find a large 300px+ soft brush is the best way to do this. If there ends up being any blue where I don't want it, I go in and erase the same way that I did for the gradient map. And now we're here. For this, it does help the more still your subject is but sometime you just have to work with what you got. This is probably the step that's the most vital to this, it's where you get the big color pay off.

From here, I added a hue and saturation layer because I thought his face was too red in contrast with the blue. I just decreased the saturation of the reds until I felt it looked better.

From here, I added another selective colors layer and played around with the blacks more. This one is also set to Color, but I left the opacity where it was.

This helped the color on his mask blend a little bit better so the cut off between the black and where I colored in the blue looks less sharp.
It's a lot of developing an eye for blending colors together but this gif took literally every trick I had up my sleeve to get it to work out so I feel like it's the best example I have to work with. If you have any more questions just shoot me another ask, I hope this helped!

Rating More AEG Redesigns
Did one last year, might as well do another this year.

Initially, I wasn’t into how big they were compared to Thomas, but it’s kinda grown on me. It reminds me of how the narrow gauge coaches were taller than the engines. And I like how they both have slightly different face designs. Don’t know if you can see it too well, but Annie has brown eyes, while Clarabel has gray eyes and freckles. Solid 8/10.

That sure is a grandpa right there, I’ll tell you what. I I feel like whenever Hiro visits the island, all of the little engines gather around to hear his stories. I would too, ngl. I feel like if the engines could eat, Hiro would totally slip them some extra candy when no one is looking. 10/10

Edward, honey, what happened to you? Why is he so big? Why does he have extra wheels? Edward’s wheel config was my favorite part of his design, why change it?
All that aside, he exudes just as much grandad enerdy as Hiro. He looks like the kind of grandpa who’ll listen to whatever his grandkids have to say, even if it’s something silly like a cool rock Kana found. 5/10.

Ashima was a bit of a surprise. I figured she would be another kid if she was introduced, but no? She’s apparently a teenager? That’s what I heard on Twitter at least. Maybe a young adult? Either way, I get why she isn’t a kid. Trying to squeeze all those colors on an engine Thomas’ size sounds like a nightmare.
If Hiro and Edward are the grandpas, Ashima is the cool older sister. The kids probably look up to her and have probably tried to act older around her at least once, but she 100% joins in on their little games and shows them the silly things she did when she was their age. 9/10

She’s so big. Why? Like, imagine if you had a model train layout and you asked your friend if they wanted to put their engines on it. But instead of bringing an HO/OO engine like you expected, they bring a massive G scale Stirling Single. That’s Emily. And that coach of hers is even bigger.
Emily doesn’t speak much in AEG (Like, I’m pretty sure the end of the second movie is the most she’s spoken throughout the series so far) and I’m gonna pretend that it’s because she keeps to herself a lot. She can talk to the kids or hold a conversation just fine, but she isn’t usually the one to initiate it. 7/10

Ooh, this one feels weird. Okay, so Henry’s character model is clearly just Gordon’s with a little tweaking, but I don’t hate it? He’s like if Henry wasn’t completely rebuilt into a black five. And the brass dome is kind of a look? It kind of reminds me of the copper chimney cap he had in Tank Engine Thomas Again. 5/10

That is not a character who should be smiling /hj. I guess since the show already had Cranky, they couldn’t have another grumpy character? I don’t know. I feel like this Bulstrode hasn’t gone through whatever made the original one the bad tempered barge we all know and love. This guy is just out there enjoying his days out at sea. 8/10
