“ get outta my way y’damn extra! ”

gosh he was so mean. a- always shouting at you, there was no inside voice with him..

you tried just ignoring him, averting your gaze in the hall, but he was just so, so damn pretty you couldn’t find it in you to look away.

“ don’t worry about him, bubbles. he’s just a stick in the mud.. ” tsu said, nudging your shoulder. you took a breath as you finally pulled your gaze from bakugo. you turned to tsu, heart beating slightly faster than normal, and eyes drier than what you were used to.

“ s- sorry what? ” he made you distracted. completely derailing your train of thought with a grinding halt.

“ oh my gosh you like him, don’t you! ” you swatted ochaco’s arm, almost offended she thought such a thing.

she wasn’t wrong.. spot on in fact.

you couldn’t deny the feelings you had for your classmate, for your neighbor.

you threw your face in your hands, deep frown tugging at your lips. you squeezed your eyes shut as a warm hand landed on your back.

“ it will be okay bubbles, just don’t think about it.. okay? ” you heard ochaco’s voice say. you outwardly groaned, pushing all the air out your lungs.

the end of the day couldn’t come fast enough. you were overstimulated - the shuffling footsteps were too loud, the sliding of the classroom doors.. it was too much. you didn’t know you were shaking until you put your hands on the water fountain. you barely heard the footsteps approaching you from behind - everything seemed so dulled.. at least with the blood pounding behind your ears.

“ goddammit can’t get something to drink without- ”

“ why do you hate me so bad, hm? what could i have done when these are the first sentences i am ever speaking to you. ” your body didn’t give you a chance to process - give him a chance you process. you were already sliding open the door to your classroom when the words you said to him sank in.

he didn’t say anything to you since then. he didn’t look your way, and you didn’t look his. it was only a week since your last interaction, and yet bakugo couldn’t get you out of his head. across the lunch room, he watched you with narrowed eyes, palms sweatier than normal.

denki pulled away from conversation with their friends to look at bakugo following his gaze, a wide grin settling on his face.

“ dude, just go up to her. ” bakugo didn’t yell, to his friends’ surprise. all he did was push his chair out, the sound of which made everyone turn to face him, grab his tray and dump it before walking out. his hands were shoved into his pocket, lips fumbling with curse words as he made his way out of the cafe.

you were sound asleep, dreaming of something undeniably and utterly outlandish when you heard faint taps. you pulled yourself from sleep, you waited a while but you didn’t hear anymore. with a roll of your eyes, you laid back down, sinking back into your duvet sheets. just as you were drifting, the taps started again. they were coming from your window.

you pulled yourself out of bed, annoyance pooling at your throat. you pushed the curtains aside to see bakugo, pillow and tiny rocks in his hands.

what was he doing here?

you pushed up the window, looking down at him.

“ what? ” you whisper yelled he made his way up to your window, still holding the pillow.

“ can’t sleep. ” you pulled him in and watched him take off his shoes, when he looked back at you, his eyes were red, puffy. your eyes narrowed at the sight,

he walks over to your bed and sits on it, tossing the pillow somewhere with the rest of the ones on your bed. you followed him, questioning his puffy eyes.

“ have you been crying? ” he looked at you, glaring - no he was squinting - at you. you stood in front of him, arms crossed as you waited for a response.

“ don’t wanna talk about it. ” you frown but hold yourself back from rolling your eyes. you look for a response, eyes looking anywhere but his. you don’t feel his arms going around your waist when you find an answer.

“ then why are you here? ” your body stiffens, his head was pressed into your stomach, strong arms around your waist holding you tighter.

“ i need you.. ” you laugh instinctively, covering your mouth to not wake your parents.

“ you hate me, bakugo. ” you mumbled, you looked down at him, hoping he wouldn’t feel your bounding heart. bakugo’s arms didn’t release you when he laid down in your bed. a strangled yelp left your lips as you fell on his chest.

“ well i need you more than i hate you right now.. ”

Can i request ragbros + childe with reader that has rapenzuls magic hair and personality? Like her hair that glows and heals when she sings + bubbly and caring!

kinda missed out on the glowing part but i tried to do the rest of it :DDD

Kaeya loves how bubbly you are. It's a breath of fresh air for him whenever he's next to you. He can't always keep up with your energy especially after a long shift but that won't stop him from trying.

He definitely loves playing with your hair as well. He loves just threading them through his fingers or braiding it prettily with flowers interspersed. It's to the point where he routinely buys you flower clips whenever he sees a pretty one out.

Whenever he comes home with some scrapes from work he tries to avoid you. Not because he's upset with you, but primarily because he doesn't want you to feel used by him. He would hate for you to think that he's with you because you can take care of his wounds. That usually ends with you finding him out and scolding him for not taking better care of yourself. That means his plan fails as you end up healing him anyway, the sound of your voice soothing him as he accidentally falls asleep against you.

Diluc definitely doesn't seem like the type of person to be with someone like you, at least outwardly. A lot of people feel like it's a little out of character for him to be with someone as sweet and personable as you are but the energy you exude is absolutely infectious.

You love playing with his curly locks as much as he likes to gently touch yours. Since he's got more hair than he knows what to do with you end up being able to help him out. You see how much he likes running his fingers through your hair so of course you'd be more than willing to walk him through it! The way you sing yourself through the steps makes a soft smile appear on his face. In fact, you catch him humming his way quietly through service, one of the songs that you sang absently stuck in his head.

You see all of the injuries he comes back with and as much as he tries to get you to stop trying to heal him he knows there's no stopping you. You end up healing him in his sleep, head in your lap when he wakes up to the sweet sound of your voice.

You and Childe both seem to have a slightly infectious positive energy. Yours is definitely a little more wholesome feeling than Childe's is but you're both somewhere on the same page. The two of you do end up getting along famously because of this, and he really enjoys spending time with you.

The energy you have stays with you whereas his tends to deplete by the end of the day. When he gets home he tends to just collapse from fatigue, trying to find you first before resting. He doesn't like to be without you or the happiness that you give him so he's always chasing for you.

You always notice that he comes home worse for wear, hoping that he'd fall asleep fast enough for you to heal up his wounds. Sometimes you can convince him to let you heal some of the harsher wounds he comes with but none of the little ones unless he's asleep. He thinks it makes him a little tougher, almost increasing his pain tolerance.

Unfortunately for his pain tolerance you always end up taking care of his wounds when he's sleeping. When he wakes up and finds his skin a little less blemished he playfully scolds you for healing him. He'll give you a kiss as you sleepily complain as consolation before heading out for the day, gently pushing your hair out of your face to press another kiss to your forehead.

Why do you think Arthur and Molly are so similar ?

I am SO glad you asked!

Molly is basically the human embodiment of foreshadowing in the story. Everything that Dutch ends up doing to the gang, he does to Molly first. Most of all, this treatment ends up landing on Arthur.

Dutch preys on the vulnerable, and this is apparent simply by looking at the members of his gang. Orphans he raised, marginalised people he has taken in, young women struggling to support themselves. Initially selfless acts that grow more sinister when you realise how Dutch has truly indoctrinated most of them, having them do his dirty work for him. Molly too, though her circumstances are much different, is vulnerable. She is unable to defend herself or leave camp, since she can’t use a gun and presumably, since when she runs away she does so on foot, can’t ride a horse. She is a physically weak young woman and an Irish immigrant in a country that is outwardly unkind to both facets of her identify and one that she is unfamiliar with.

Molly is incredibly devoted to Dutch, to the point where she has nothing in her life without him. Her entire existence now revolves around him, and she cannot safely leave even if she wants to. Though Dutch starts the game returning Molly’s affection, the second she starts to become unappealing to him - voicing her own opinions, speaking out against his treatment of her, doubting anything he does - he discards her like she is nothing. He is incredibly manipulative to her, with his literal gaslighting, constant berating of her emotions which he scolds her for in an uncomfortably parental way, refusing to speak to her even when she is trying to help him and, eventually, even revoking her right to be called by her first name. She hates being called by her surname, and she tells him this. It changes nothing. Now that Molly has lost her appeal in Dutch’s eyes, he hunts for a replacement. He begins to find this in Mary-Beth, a woman even younger than Molly and much more timid towards him, who doesn’t speak out against him or complain about his behaviour.

Arthur has quite literally dedicated his entire life to Dutch. Arthur was raised by him and as he says in chapter 2, nothing means more to him than the gang. Though certainly not vulnerable how you would expect, Dutch found him when he was. His existence revolves around Dutch, and now with the high bounty on his head and the people he must protect, he cannot safely leave even if he wants to. Much like we saw with Molly, Dutch starts to disregard Arthur when he begins to show doubts in his plans and his motivations. Throughout chapter 6, we watch their bond deteriorate, with Dutch even eventually abandoning the title of son for Arthur similarly to how he refuses to call Molly by her first name. Just as he did with Mary-Beth, he finds a younger, more vulnerable option to replace Arthur in Eagle Flies. In front of Arthur, he tells Eagle Flies that he never had a son, and shortly afterwards mocks Arthur’s weakness brought on by, might I remind you, his fatal illness.

For each of them, protecting the gang are hugely important acts taken by Molly and Arthur near the end of their stories. For Molly, it takes the form of her refusal to tell the law about them. We know that she was sweated multiple times, implying at the very least intense interrogation and at most outright torture. Molly had every reason to want Dutch dead, but for reasons we never get to hear from her she decides to keep the gang safe. For Arthur, we see him do his best to save everybody in the gang he possibly can. Primarily the Marstons, dying so that they can be safe.

These connections never go directly acknowledged by Molly and Arthur, but there are two very notable moments between them. First, there is Molly’s only “mission”, though it really isn’t about her. She tries to open up to Arthur before she is interrupted, telling him her worries about Dutch and asking how he seems to Arthur, if he thinks he has changed the way Molly knows he has. Changes that Arthur has not noticed, that he will not notice until it is much too late, that the gang ignored but Molly saw. Secondly, it is Arthur who prevents Dutch from shooting Molly as she confesses. She is encouraging him, asking him to shoot her, but Arthur holds him back and talks him down. He never fully believes her, voicing subtly that he doubts Molly’s lie. It was the very most he could have done for her in that minute, and with that scene marking the start of chapter 6, the very act of protecting the supposed traitor that Dutch is ready to kill is the first of many acts of defiance Arthur will make.

Lastly, there is the similarities between two of their most tragic lines. Molly’s poem repeats the phrase “I’ve nothing left, I gave you all”, being the closing line of the final stanza of her poem, one that is undoubtedly about her relationship with Dutch. Some of Arthur’s final dialogue, spoken to Dutch, is “I gave you all I had”. Though coming from much different circumstances and backgrounds, Molly and Arthur ended very much the same. Giving everything to Dutch, and being cast aside by him.

Scrolling through your asoiaf tag and you have such good and correct opinions like how can anyone love just Dany or just Sansa or just Arya like how can anyone not see the parallels between Dany and Sansa it makes me feel so crazy like why are there so few people who love all the girlies?? I genuinely love every single female POV character and can’t imagine hating any of them. I mean sure yeah Cersei is a villain but you’re telling me her tragedy doesn’t touch your heart? Watching this woman desperately try to avoid her prophecy as it unfolds before you doesn’t have you in a death grip? Or like are you unmoved by Sansa telling an annoying snotty little boy how brave he is because she wants him to feel better? Dany comforting Missandei when her brother dies? Arya getting to the house of the black and white and immediately thinning to being a man a cup of water (or at least what she thought was water)? How about Sansa telling Joffrey she hopes Robb cuts his head off? Dany sassing the man who wants to open the fighting pits? Arya telling Jaquen to kill himself? Like please come on. All three girls are obviously different but they share so many very endearing traits. I am fiercely holding tight to my delusion that Dany and Sansa will bond over stories and songs and Arya will teach Dany about all the flowers in Westeros and then Sansa will show them how to make flower crowns and embroider little emblems on Arya’s clothes

The whole arya vs sansa vs dany fandom fight frustrates me to no end, mainly because all parties involved seem to have little to no empathy to the characters whose stans they oppose. It's all maliciously extrapolating some parts of the text to make them see worse than what they are (ex: daenerys' "if i look back i am lost" getting twisted from "dany knows that dwelling on what ifs and turning your back after you have taken a commitment will only damage you in the long term" in "dany doesn't want to reflect on her past mistakes and will go mad and get stabbed to death" or sansa getting frustrated at sweetrobin being a sign of her being ableist and classist while it's. Just a normal reaction of a stressed and traumatized 13 yo who is otherwise very sweet to her cousin)

For loving the female characters same! Even those who commit outwardly villainous acts do get lots of humanizing moments, Cersei, as awful as she is, is simply a product of the hyper misogynistic society she lives in plus years of parental and spousal abuse (and the doomed by prophecy vibes) and. I genuinely don't get how people can look at the walk of shame and say it's a fitting punishment to her crimes

Overall all the hate for female characters that are more complex or more driven or more morally ambiguous than what most female characters are presented as in other media in a fandom who (supposedly) prides itself in liking morally ambiguous characters is.. frustrating, really. I blame both fandom misogyny but also the GoT series, as it's outright changes in female character's actions and stories to make them look better or worse than what they originally were skewered the visions of almost everyone in the fandom (arya is an egregious victim of this. Scenes such as her caring for Weasel or her befriending sex workers in braavos don't exist and they added that "all girls are idiot" scene that i hate and they removed all her plan to free the northmen from harrenal and she got turned from traumatized child to hashtag no one super cool assassin and her character got straight up murdered in the tv series.)

Oh and also for kickstarting the whole jonsa vs jonerys thing which i'm pretty sure is the origin of the stupid dany vs sansa wars

And yes!! Dany Sansa and Arya should get to meet and reunite! While i do think that there will be some slight tensions between Sansa and Arya because they left on Not So Well terms, they have also matured a lot, so i do think they would have an heartfelt reunion. Meanwhile Dany and Arya could bond because of both their connection to Braavos and Arya's admiration for those who free slaves, and Dany would empathize (and feel a common ground) with Sansa for her being a child who had all her family die and got married extremely young while beeing creeped on by older men, while Sansa, who is shown to admire women like Margaery or Myranda, who are shown to be very keen regarding politics or social issues, something that Dany is

In the end, i genuinely hope that all three of these traumatized little girls get their happy ending and none of them dies, they all are interesting and complex characters that share parallels with each other, and it sucks that because of stupid ship wars or discussions on who would get the throne they get pitted against each other. THEY WOULD BE FRIENDS Y'ALL

the vacker legacy and their golden boy: fitz vacker

welcome to my new psychoanalyzing kotlc characters series! i thought i’d start with fitz because this particular reread of the series has brought up some interesting facets in his character i had previously overlooked. i’ll try to keep this objective (focusing on canon and what shannon has written) but i’ll also include some of my personal opinions about him in a separate section at the end, to keep my bias out of it.

(apologies for how long these are going to get, i’m having a little too much fun with them!)

fitzroy avery vacker.

it’s no secret that sophie is infatuated with him from the moment she meets him. but that’s sophie. this is about fitz (and while i do mention the love triangle situation and how it develops, it’s not really about the ships - that deserves it’s own moment to shine.) it’s also important to remember that the series is from sophie’s perspective. this is an unreliable narrator, and it shows us fitz through sophie’s eyes, but also through the other character’s eyes. 

from the start, we’re told that fitz is the golden boy, the youngest telepath to manifest in the elven world and an incredibly powerful one at that. he grows up as a part of the vacker family, which is quite possibly the most powerful family in the lost cities, regardless of who the councillors are. all the elves grow up with money, but fitz grows up with status. what sets him apart from biana is how this status evolves between the two of them as the vacker legacy itself unravels.

in the first book, fitz is, from a writer’s standpoint, boring. he’s too perfect, never making mistakes, and busy being handsome and smart. obviously, given that the series is from sophie’s point of view, it makes sense that her gateway to the world remain untainted, regardless of her feelings for him. where we really start to get to know fitz is in exile. we get to see that perfection shatter entirely, and as a writer, it’s beautiful. fitz is ugly when he’s mad, shouting and screaming and blaming everyone but himself - outwardly. it’s no secret that he thinks highly of himself as the golden boy of the vacker family, and it’s hard to imagine that he doesn’t place some of the blame on himself for not being his dad’s first choice - or being able to fix alden. 

still, his anger is a remarkable facet of his personality - and just what makes him a great foil to keefe. we’ve all seen his temper flare up in exile, blaming sophie for the memory break going wrong.

fitz isn’t used to things going wrong - as i’ve mentioned in other posts, he’s a creature of perfection of habit. he’s used to being the best, and while he admires sophie’s powers and her strength, that doesn’t mean he necessarily knows how to accept it with grace. in other words, he’s never been second best. 

despite all the kids being young, fitz is the oldest of sophie’s group at the time. and his reaction shows his age, but not his maturity. he’s quick to blame and reacts without thinking - his anger brings out parts of him that he normally doesn’t reach for. fitz is always the one who prefers plans and thinking things out, and rarely do we see him like this. as a reader, it’s easy to hate him for this reaction - because we know that it’s not sophie’s fault. and the rational fitz is supposed to know that too - and he does.

kind of.

fitz’s greatest weakness as a character is that he doesn’t grow from this outburst. it’s not the first, and it’s not the last either. he’s a prideful guy - and with reason, he has a lot to be proud of. he’s not the best at apologizing either - it’s a cycle, where he gets mad, has an outburst, and apologizes with gifts to fix things. 

this wouldn’t be such a big deal, i mean all of us have different love languages, right? but there’s a constant in the people he gets mad at (neverseen and related villains regardless. that’s justified anger, even at alvar, although that’s a little more complicated) and it’s:

1. sophie 2. keefe 3. dex

starting from the last, but not the least, dex. even after it’s revealed in (i believe) lodestar, that dex used to eat alone in his alchemy sessions and the vackers weren’t necessarily the nicest to him, snobby over their status in the elven world etc., we see him get mad at dex for hesitating over the situation with alvar. it’s particularly interesting, considering we never really see fitz bond with dex, just dex tell sophie that he’s going to be nicer to the vackers now that he understands them better. this is apparent to be a little more one sided in their interactions, and it gets worse with the reveal that alvar has “forgotten” his memories. fitz is ready to condemn him, but when dex isn’t, it upsets him. 

remember, alvar was a part of the group that kidnapped and tortured sophie and dex. his supposed crush and his friend. and yet, both of the victims are feeling a little more kind hearted than fitz, who is alvar’s brother, yes, but it’s also been made clear that he isn’t as close to alvar as biana is. and yet.

as for keefe, his reasons for hating keefe make sense. and they don’t. if anything, he should be able to understand where keefe is coming from, especially since he *does* seem to be aware of keefe’s feelings for sophie. and despite the fact that they’re supposed to be best friends, he’s the least sympathetic to keefe’s situation. he’s betrayed, of course, they all are, and he’s angry about it, because of course he is. that’s normal - and it all adds up. where things get weird is when we realize that fitz doesn’t know that much about keefe. sophie’s the first one up to his house and keefe even says he doesn’t bring friends home, but it’s clear that he’s never talked about it with fitz.

fitz also has a tendency to not take keefe seriously, which the other characters all do an extent, but they know when to take him seriously and when to not. but fitz misses a lot of keefe’s growth and he still sees keefe as this weird kid that skipped a grade and likes to play pranks. keefe’s a shell of the person fitz knows at this point, and this is something they both need to come to terms with.

fitz’s pride comes into the picture here, manifesting as willful ignorance. he doesn’t know about keefe’s situation because, quite frankly? he didn’t want to sympathize with dex either. he’s a proud guy and this is GOOD characterization but. he kind of looks like a jerk.

in regards to sophie, these scenes sum up both how he feels about her and why i think they’re not good together:

i’ve talked a little about fitz and perfection and why he sees sophie as perfect even though it feels like he shouldn’t - and i don’t want to rehash all that so i’ll leave a little link to some thoughts i had regarding a scene in stellarlune, so you can check it out here. warning: stellarlune spoilers. the non spoiler version here: fitz craves perfection. his world was always perfect, and so was he. he’s the golden boy, after all, isn’t he?

what makes it so hard to have sympathy for him, after all i am an eldest daughter in an indian family with gifted kid burnout and a queer identity crisis - i know pressure lol it’s all i’ve ever known - is that he simply can not let go. he expects that painful level of perfection from himself, and it’s sad that they can’t have a little fun with the chandelier incident. he thinks that sophie would expect that kind of perfection from him, and for that reason, he thinks the problem is his levitating.

obviously lol, it’s not, but the boy  but he also expects that kind of perfection from others, and thinks that others ALSO want that perfection, as seen in how he handles the news that sophie has found out who her genetic mother is. 

more on THAT later. i doubt i’ll be able to stay objective on that scene so i’m saving it for the end of this little piece. (which is not as little as i was hoping, but if the people are interested, i could do a part two where i answer questions instead of just winging it!)

the second scene’s literally from the next page, but his pride and focus on perfection converge in on telepathy. sophie’s better than him, and there’s this undertone that this bothers him. he’s losing - and perfection always wins. here it is again - sophie’s ridiculously strong mental barriers. the point of trust. 

part of the reason the sophitz relationship was doomed to fail from the start is the emphasis fitz places on their abilities. but we’re cognates is a cry for the little boy who wants his place back as the best, and sophie is his return to greatness. it’s not a bad thing when done right, but fitz can’t see past that. his sense of trust is misconstrued and believes it means sharing everything, never mind the fact that sophie’s a part of a rebel organization with thoughts planted in her head that could change the world. literally. the black swan planted them there.

(is the humor helping? i feel like we’ve been bashing fitz a bit for his lack of growth and i would apologize because i do think he’s a valuable character and a well written one at that, but a bit unlikeable when it comes down to it.)

he’s had his trust broken and people have hidden things from him, but in the grand scheme of things, alvar’s betrayal is the one that cuts him the most deeply. keefe’s hurts, sure, but i could argue it’s for love triangle related reasons, more than their supposed friendship instead. (i will, actually. that’s a part of the love triangle analysis - and if you think this is long...) but nothing is really earth shattering in the sense that it deeply warps his sense of identity. he’s been hurt a lot, and he’s a traumatized kid, but he reacts with less maturity than his younger sister - and a lot of the other (younger) characters at times, which can be frustrating to see when the solution is right there.

and here we are. the most painful scene for me to read - and i haven’t even gotten around to rereading legacy yet. so. legacy spoilers ahead.

this is my warning - i’m not cutting fitz as much slack for these scenes even if i understand where he’s coming from. he’s wrong. it’s as simple as that, and i *will* explain why, but if you still believe sophie and fitz should have ended up together and plan on reminding me of that, i respect you, but please just stop reading here. 

for context, this is right after sophie finds out that oralie is her genetic mom and fitz is waiting at havenfield and tries to guess why she’s so upset. or that she’s figured out who her parents are. it becomes apparent shortly that even he doesn’t know which he’s doing.

“I get why you’re not ready to talk about it YET.”

this is supposed to be a small sentence to show how understanding he is, and it would be, if it wasn’t for the glaring YET at the end. he still expects sophie to talk about the subject sometime, and with him. but it’s weird that he’d be so relieved about it - considering how UPSET sophie is at the moment.

i tried, you guys, i really did. did i mention i was a hardcore sophitz shipper when i first started the series? only the first three books were out and i was in middle school minding my own business and even got through exile mad at fitz but hopeful. 

it was my second readthrough before neverseen dropped that had me, you know, rethinking things. and now, at 19 (yeah okay that makes me sound old but you know the books have been out for a while now so), it’s easy to see why. sophitz is every little kid’s dream come true. your crush likes you back and it’s all as magical as you thought it would be. except it isn’t, because we tend to only see the good in people we like. sokeefe is the slow burn because it takes time to build up to a relationship and it’s not going to how you think it will. 

I DIGRESS. this next excerpt is where i get really upset because fitz just does not listen. he pushes and he pushes and he pushes and god, you would think he’d get it. 

things he gets points for: not lashing out at her immediately and holding back on his anger

things he does not get points for: well, you’ve read the scene too, right?

sophie says it best: he. just. wasn’t. listening. 

and he also takes it upon himself to decide for her, who it is, even though sophie is clearly so very painfully obviously distressed. i mean, for anyone in his position, this is a major jerk move, but you know, it’s fitz, so he’s going to keep it perfect. 

and just when we think he’s finally understood, just as i was thinking he’s getting better at reading situations, he brings up the matchmaking thing. 

y’all, he acts like her not being matchmakable is a problem for both of them, even though it technically doesn’t affect her the way it affects him. she’s said it herself, that she has reservations about the whole thing, and it’s not even something she considers her future to be. 

“you don’t want it either - you know you don’t.”

they might both be telepaths, but fitz projects himself onto sophie a lot because of that. it gets worse after they become cognates because it’s an even greater honor and they’re doing it together. 

but they’re not the same. nowhere near it. it’s this scene that made me realize that fitz hasn’t been seeing sophie - he’s been seeing her potential and everything she could be, and that’s why he’s so fixated on the matchmaking lists. of course, matching with the most powerful elf the lost cities has ever known would restore his family name. it would be perfect, really, the most powerful elf and the second most powerful telepath the lost cities have ever known, matched together. 

i could say more about him claiming that sophie’s privacy is less important than her future, as if the two aren’t one in the same, but i’d like to overlook that and pretend it’s just his entitlement and his view of matchmaking as the be all end all creeping in and nothing more.

so.

that was a lie.

“I… don’t think you’ve thought this through. But of course you haven’t. It’s late. You’ve had a long day with lots of huge stuff. So… can we just agree to not make any decisions right now?”

the way he’s so sure she hasn’t thought this through is a double edged sword. not only does it show a kind of possessive edge over her, where he’s constantly speaking for her and OVER her, it also shows us how he’s convinced it’s still about him.

fitz. my buddy. my man. listen to the girl.

he doesn’t bother giving her reasoning a chance and steamrolls ahead with his own, which we know sophie hates anyone doing. i mean, look at her argument with keefe in nightfall - she’s not going to stand for people speaking over her or for her. she doesn’t want their protection.

what’s wrong with this scene is that fitz writes off everything sophie is feeling and saying, and the key word here is ruin.

ruin.

instead of being understanding to sophie’s upbringing and her unique situation, he can’t look past his own return of the king (a lotr reference, shannon would you be proud even if i’m slandering your character?) to elven society. in fact, it says a lot that he sees her as the vacker redemption arc even when sophie herself has mentioned - to us and to HIM - that she doesn’t feel like she fits in with elven society but only if she plays by his rules. 

(feels a little like objectification, ngl, and that doesn’t sit right with me.)

he’s blinded by his status, his pride, and perfection, and that, right there, is his biggest downfall.

not the conclusion gif i was looking for but y’all this is long enough let me keep this brief.

(HAHA YOU THOUGHT i am incapable of being brief)

fitz is an incredibly consistent character when we get down to it, and he’s not as complex-ified as the other characters are. well, not the way the other characters are. biana’s arc is about improving as a person and getting stronger, dex’s is about overcoming internalized prejudice, keefe’s is about chosen family and trauma, etc. fitz’s character arc is almost backwards - from a writing standpoint, this would be a really cool villain origin story. not that fitz is a villain, but over time, rather than his character becoming a better person, he starts out perfect until that perfection crumbles and we get to see the perfectionist that so desperately craves a return to his old normal, with everyone in this new normal. he’s trying so hard to fit into old clothes, outgrown shoes, and slip back into his old memories. 

as a love interest, no. i could go further about his “interest” in linh being driven by her same power, but i have no doubt that matchmaking would still be of great interest to him, so i’ll leave it at that.

I DONT HATE FITZ. not as a person, nor as a character. i don’t see him as the most likable, but you guys, he’s not a villain. he’s a teenage boy who needs to work through his issues before he gets anywhere near sophie, but he’s been through a lot so i’m trying to cut him some slack. he’s an incredible asset to the kotlc team and his need for a plan tends to keep them from getting themselves in more trouble. he’s helped sophie improve her abilities vastly, and indirectly, pushed her to become better. quite literally, the story would not exist without him. we need fitz as a character because he makes the story what it is, but as an individual i just think we wouldn’t get along.

I really, REALLY, dislike Graham.

I can't wait for the glorious moment in which he'll know that Lily fancy James Potter. I can't fucking wait for it, the realization splatted on his face.

Lily, this beautiful muggleborn, fancies James Potter, a pureblood who has no judgment and prejudice.

I mean, Flor is a nice girl, but Graham... I really want to punch him every time, especially I don't like the way he treats and speaks about Sirius and James

Please, Lily let him realize or tell him directly (even better) that you have fallen for a young man, who is a leader, who has strong principles, who is a good person, whose name is James Potter.

When I read the Graham likes her, my thought was "my dear, she fancy James, I can't wait for you to know it"

I want to add that your James is one of my favourite, I really like how you write him ❤️

hmmmm ok I have a rule where I don’t tell anyone how to feel about a character! So I’m not gonna do that!

But…….this is extremely self-indulgent on my part, but I just want to offer some space to consider how characters like Sirius and James are perceived by other students at school, particularly the more marginalized students (like Graham).

So, forgive me:

Facts about Sirius and James as perceived by the general student body:

Sirius Black came from one of the most prominent Muggle-hating families in wizarding society. Prior to 1976 it was not common knowledge that he did not get along with his family. (Canon; TLE2-16)

Sirius Black called Cecil Stebbins the M-word in first year. (TLE2-36)

Sirius Black made a splash in third year by stealing a muggle-born girl’s diary, reading it aloud, and proceeding to torment her about it and her crush [on a pure-blood boy] for years. (TLE1-7)

Sirius Black was at least semi-frequently photographed with prominent members of wizarding society who publicly spouted anti-Muggle sentiment (such as the Malfoys), and these photos were glowingly printed in the Daily Prophet’s Society pages for all to read. (TLE1-28; TLE1-35)

Sirius Black often made a show of spending his family’s money extravagantly, such as buying drinks for entire tables of random students in the Three Broomsticks as a joke. (TLE1-25)

Sirius Black had a reputation for dueling and getting into fights. (TLE1-44, and like…every other chapter lmao)

James Potter publicly declared that he wouldn’t date a muggle-born girl if she were the last girl in school, then proceeded to tease her about it for years (TLE1-7)

James Potter had a reputation for being jinx happy, frequently hexing other students. (Canon, TLE1-7, TLE1-40, TLE1-50, TLE1-52, TLE2-40, etc etc etc etc)

In his fifth year, James Potter once hexed a younger Muggle-born student so badly it took 2 weeks for his skin to turn back to normal. (TLE1-50, TLE2-40)

James Potter publicly humiliated his enemies. (TLE1-52)

James Potter mocked another student for essentially being poor (TLE2-31)

James Potter was the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, which did not have a single Muggle-born member. (TLE2-45)

Etc etc etc

Of course, WE have context for all these incidents. We know their thoughts, intentions, etc. But how would someone like Graham have that insight? Why would he ever give them the benefit of the doubt?

And yet despite all this, the way Graham has treated them has been to be inwardly disdainful and outwardly polite, even being gracious in welcoming James when he crashed the MBSC without an express invite. (Sure, internally he may have been thinking “you privileged wanker”, but did he say it? No! lmao)

Anyway!! Just another perspective on this dude! I love hearing all the different takes on him. He has not QUITE surpassed Florence as Most Controversial TLE Character but he’s at least won a shiny medal. 🥈😂

"[You] Should Know Better Than That" (2).

Chapter 2

Jane’s nephew had always been a weird one. Temperamental and moody were labels put on him by his parents - her brother and sister-in-law - but there had always been more to it than that. 

Sure, Mike’s temper tantrums were a sight to behold. Her eardrums still haven't recovered from the one he threw when he was five. And her nephew’s moods change on a dime (thankfully, less outwardly destructive now that he’s older). But to say he’s temperamental is missing a fundamental piece of what makes Mike, well, Mike. 

She hates that she knows this. Hates that she understands him more than he does himself. And Jane refuses to understand anyone at all. 

Not anymore. 

“And his mood swings,” she warbles, pretending to wipe her eyes. 

Abby’s teacher - what’s-her-face - tilts her head. A look of blatant disbelief on her face. Jane isn’t bothered though. It’s not about making the teacher believe it, she just needs her words to end up on the record. And someday, when her nephew inevitably ends up going off the deep end, the court can look over her words, and find that Mike - as she has always proclaimed - is not a suitable guardian. 

Mike rolls his eyes. This, too, she ignores. It’s not the first time he can’t contain himself in a professional setting. Speaking of which….

She sniffs. “And that poor man.”

Another head tilt. Another eye roll. 

Her nephew doesn’t speak up to defend himself. Not that he ever does, because what could he possibly say? 

‘I didn’t mean it?’ ‘It was an accident?’ 

Oh, please. 

She motions to her lawyer - some guy she hired off of craigslist, Doug, if she remembers correctly - to hand her the necessary papers. The real reason she came here this morning. 

Eyes glazed over and with the tremor of a baby deer taking its first few steps, Doug hands her the adoption papers.

“I want custody of Abby,” she says. Partly for the money, partly because I can’t trust my nephew to keep her safe. Jane leaves that part unsaid, but she’s sure her nephew can fill in the gaps. 

Mike shifts in the seat, sitting up a little. His frown deepens. “And if I say no?” There’s something in his tone, like he’s secretly begging Jane not to take his little sister away. A small child asking their caregiver not to turn the lights out because they’re scared of what’s lurking in the dark. 

But she’s not that nice. 

“Then, I’ll have to escalate it further, and if the court decides to remove her from your custody, you’ll never see her again.” And that’s not a threat. A threat is petty and unproven. Jane doesn’t make threats. It’s a promise. 

Mike deflates. Without her wanting to, in his place is a younger version of Mike. Cuter, with big brown eyes, and dark (almost black) curls to match. (“When are mommy and daddy coming back?”) 

She shakes her head. The past version of her nephew disappears. The current one stares at her with concern, or maybe that’s fear for her mental state. At least now he knows how she feels. 

The school bell rings. 

“Well, until next week,” the teacher says.

“So,” Mike starts, picking at the bowl of cereal he originally poured for Abby, but since she decided at the last second she didn’t want it, it’s his now. His sister colors at their dining room table. A rare sight, as she usually prefers hiding away in her room. “How was school?”

Nothing. The sounds of crayon on paper continue.

He purses his lips. “Your teacher told me, you guys are learning about animals. What’s that about?”

Nothing.

Mike sighs. “Okay.” He knew it was useless trying to reach her. Her teacher was clearly wrong. Center of Abby’s pictures or not, she doesn’t care if he’s here with her or not. “You can go if you want.”

Instantly, his sister is rushing to her room, art supplies clutched in her arms. A moment later she emerges, arms free, and heads straight for their television.

That’s right, he remembers. It’s Thursday, which means a new episode of Ab’s favorite show. 

Mike quietly laughs to himself. He used to rush to the TV on Friday nights to see reruns of Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless, though back then he had to fight against two parents who wanted the living room to themselves, and a….

He swallows, looking sideways into the kitchen. The calendar on the wall is a couple months off. He’ll have to change that….eventually. 

As soon as he hears the telltale jingle of My Little Pony, Mike digs into his pocket. The card he shoved in there earlier is creased but thankfully not ripped. 

He stares at the number for a solid minute, before building up the courage to call Mr. Raglan up. He taps his teeth together, twisting in his seat from side to side. The phone rings, once, twice. Mike thinks of hanging up, but the thought of not paying rent for a second month in a row stops him. It’s halfway through the third ring when the phone’s finally picked up. 

“Hello? Hello, hello?”

“Hi, it’s Mike Schmidt.”

Steve Raglan laughs, the sound crackly due to the poor connection. He wonders how many other poor souls had to grit their teeth and bear the humiliation of asking for help from someone so callous and unconcerned. Or maybe everyone else is smart enough to just take the job offer right off the bat. Smarter than Mike at least, not that that’s anything new. 

“Mister I’m too good for anything,” Mr. Raglan jokes. 

Against his will, Mike’s eye twitches. He forces a laugh. “Yeah, um…I was actually wondering if that job was still open?”

“Yes, of course. When can you start?”

“As soon as possible would be good.”

Another laugh. Mike somehow manages to not groan.

“That’s what I like to hear. Now, get a piece of paper and a pen. I’ll give you directions to the restaurant.”

Mike meets Max at the front door. Her hair and clothes are slightly damp from the rain. “Hey, Max.” He hands her a towel to dry off with. 

“Hi, Mike,” she murmurs. A messenger bag slung over her shoulder. Likely her college textbooks. “Have fun.” The smile she sends him is downright mischievous. 

“Oh, so much fun.” He pulls his jacket on. “Uh…we don’t have a lot in the cupboards, but you can help yourself. I should be home by 6:30, but if I’m not here by then or you have any concerns-”

“Call you,” Max finishes. “I know, I know. Now, go. Otherwise you’ll be late. I heard the east bound is starting to flood a little, and we both know your car can barely handle an unflooded road.”

Mike nods. “Right. Thanks again, Max. I couldn’t do it without you.” And he really couldn’t. The only other person that he trusts to watch Abby is his aunt, and she’d use every second he’s gone to interrogate his sister or go through their (read: his) belongings. And even then, she’d expect to be paid. 

He winces sympathetically. “Max, I can’t pay you tonight.”

Max, who has settled on her usual spot on the couch, dismisses him with a wave. “I’ll put it on your tab.”

Mike smiles at the ground. “Right.”

Vanessa watches the restaurant from across the street. The unemployment office is ironically a perfect cover for her. Enough drug deals have been made in this parking lot to warrant a police officer being stationed here. 

The rain makes it a little difficult to see out her windshield, especially because she turned her car off to blend in more. 

Her phone vibrates with texts every so often. She knows who they belong to, and she doesn’t want to look. 

A car eventually pulls into the parking lot. It’s rundown, which is to be expected. The people he goes after aren’t usually part of a higher tax bracket. 

Vanessa waits for a little while. Let the new guy settle in for the night. Otherwise it might look like she was waiting for him, and wouldn’t that be crazy?

She pulls into Freddy’s parking lot a few minutes after midnight. A wave of nostalgia crashes over her as she looks at the building. So many memories here….

Her phone vibrates again, so she opts to leave it in the car. It’s not like he ever says anything important. 

Vanessa rings the doorbell. Most of the time, the new security hire answers the door immediately upon seeing that she’s a police officer. Apparently, the new guy is not like most people, because it takes him, not one, not two, but five rings of the buzzer for him to open the door. 

He cracks the door open a little, eyes narrow. “Can I help you…officer?” His voice is groggy, like he just woke up from a nap. But that’s impossible. He just got here twenty minutes ago. 

“Mhm. You must be the new security hire.”

The guy continues to stare at her, seemingly unable to find words. Maybe he’s on drugs? It wouldn’t be the first hire to be on something. 

Vanessa catches a glimpse of something dripping from the new hire’s arm. Red. “You’re bleeding,” she says. 

“Oh, It’s nothing. I’m sure I can patch it up.”

Definitely drugs. He seems shaky, but that could be because of the blood loss. The wound doesn’t look deep, but it wouldn’t hurt to patch it up.

Seeing an opening, Vanessa slides into the restaurant. “I know where they keep the first-aid kit. C’mon.”

It never gets easier, being here. It feels like every time she’s forced to do this, dust gathers another layer and the place falls apart just a little bit more. 

Still, this is Freddy’s. So, she can’t help but feel the tiniest bit excited.

She hands the kit off to him. “Bloodshot eyes, racing heart,” she observes, looking over him. The new hire seems to tuck into himself, as if hiding from her analytic stare. “Could only be Freddy’s.”

“Wh-what?”

“This place tends to get to people,” she explains, taking over bandaging his arm. “Which is exactly why you won’t last.” Vanessa extends a hand, done with fixing his arm up. “Vanessa Shelly.”

The new hire looks between her outstretched hand and her face. He takes her hand. His grip is sweaty and loose. “Mike Schmidt.” 

She notes the bags under his big brown eyes, the sickly pale tint to his skin, and his worn clothes. He looks - and she feels bad thinking it - pathetic. Pathetic and sad and very, very lost. 

“So, Mike. How about a tour?”

Without waiting for him, Vanessa heads out the door. If he’s smart, he’ll follow. Which isn’t saying much, because he took this job.

He probably didn’t have a choice. A voice whispers in her head. None of them do. 

She argues back. They have more of a choice than the children did. 

The voice says nothing to that.

Mike follows Vanessa into the main lobby. She stops in front of the stage. The one he passed on his way into the office. A thick curtain hangs in front, blocking their view of what sits behind it. 

“What is this?” He asks, crossing his arms. Something about this - a police officer showing him around - doesn’t sit right with Mike. He knows that she’s likely just trying to be nice. Maybe it’s even procedure. There is a lot of dangerous machinery here. But still… 

“I want to introduce you to the band.” She hits a large button on the wall. The curtain slides open dramatically. “Freddy,” Vanessa gestures to a bear-esque animatronic in front. “Chica.” A chicken off to the side of Freddy; she holds a cupcake on a platter. “And Bonnie.” A bunny standing on the other side of Freddy, a guitar in his paws. 

Music starts playing. The song is familiar. Really, really familiar. Mike furrows his eyebrows. He glances at Vanessa who is watching the performance with stars in her eyes. She leans closer to him, still focused on the show in front of them. 

When she speaks, there’s a note of childish excitement in her voice. “Wanna dance?” The question catches Mike off guard. He looks at her, head cocked to the side. Did she really, actually want to dance with him of all people? They just met. 

Thankfully, he’s saved from the humiliation of answering. The music abruptly cuts off, and there’s a very obvious spark of electricity. 

“Whoa,” he mutters under his breath, jolting. This building must be older than he thought. 

Vanessa frowns, seemingly disappointed. “Maybe next time.”

Next time?

He watches her head back to the office.

I’ve been seeing so many people say how they’re happy Leon in RE4R now isn’t a “simp” chasing after Ada anymore compared to OGRE4. I’m so confused ?? Because from what I remember Leon literally never chases Ada at all in OGR4, Ashley was always his priority, not even when she said he needed to get the parasite out of his body, he maintains that he needs to save Ashley first. I’m guessing they’re just mad that OG4 wasn’t as outwardly/verbally pissed at Ada to their liking. I mean OG Leon at least “attempted” to question and run after her when she took the sample and the end but RE4R just let her take it no questions asked lol

i generally think that people lack a lot of media literacy, and a lot of people (primarily new leon simps)(who also have never played the games) have taken fanfiction as canon. the whole "Ada cheats on Leon" thing? no idea where that came from.

re4 Leon was actually a lot more aloof and campy. i'd even argue that people could say he was an asshole at times lol. og re4 always had ada simping for leon in separate ways so i don't know where this narrative came from. ada really do be blowing up a ship for leon and also stopping his assassination but sure..

I hate the over implied "leon puts ashley above everything else," and interprets it as romantic. saving ashley was his JOB, first and foremost. he needed to get ashley out and safely back home, and then onto the next mission.

i'd argue that leon is actually more tender with ada at times in re4r. he has a pivotal conversation with ada in the boat, and they're much more vulnerable as opposed to the virtually silent boat scene in ogre4. leon is also much more tender with the bear charm keys in the remake, perhaps feeling a bit of regret with his he let his anger cloud is emotions. the realization that ada had planned an escape route for leon is much more clear and endeared as opposed to re4 where he just kinda goes like "very cute :| "and then moves on to immediately hit on hunnigan lmao.

the other change they made was that ada DID "threaten" leon with a gun for the sample at the end of re4, but in re4r, Leon let her go without any fight. ada also doesn't point her gun at him at all. not only that she never had her finger on the trigger when they first have their initial reunion. ada never meant to threaten leon with any real means of harm.

to be honest re4 and re4r have never been the most aeon centric games. they're an in between of the relationship and always had been. it's a turning point for them, a conflict that they both have and as we know from grade school story telling (lol), we need some sort of conflict before we can get to that resolve.

Empires Magical Girl Au: The side characters or as I like to call them; Cleo, Stress & The Boys

I should say that this story is focused on the girls so I'm going to be keeping the boys pretty minimal in this story. Or at least I they aren't becoming magical girls. I know sad but I want to focus on the lady's they deserve to have a super hero story focused on them.

Cleo: I'm thinking she knows of the girls secret, or at least some of them, and hates it. She is quite protective of her friends. So when one of her best friends are roped into the quiet dangerous occupation of heroism, let's just say she isn't the happiest. Especially when more started joining.

Stress: She might be around the girls just as much as Cleo, but in her case she is completely clueless to there after school activities. Though she is very supportive and even though she doesn't know what's happening she trusts her friends.

The Boys -

Scott: Our resident "friend" of everyone. He's kind to everyone but only the people he truly cares about he considers a true friend. I also took slight inspiration from reality and made him a big fan of the girls, to emulate his love of DND. In fact I would consider him their #1 fan.

Oli: Our resident bard is quite eccentric and our show runner of our b plot! The director of the school play, a job no one knows how he got, drags his assistant director around as much as he can. Who might his assistant director be, well Shelby of course... Yeah Shelby doesn't know why either. Though Oli says he couldn't think of anyone else to be his assistant director.

Jimmy: Lizzy's little half brother! Im thinking he is quite a worry wart over his sister. Especially when he's the one covering for the girls during school hours as the schools hall monitor. Due to their relationship though he doesn't feel it's his place to ask her about it, but that doesn't mean he's not going to try to not find out what's going on.

Fwhip: Gems twin brother, and Sausage's best friend. He too is another worry wart. He's the resident fixer, doesn't matter what it is if its broken he could fix it. So it's a little worrying that he's had to fix up one or two of the girls a few times. It's expressly worrying when it seems they like to go to him first before an adult or the hospital.

Sausage: Pearl's cousin and Fwhip's best friend. Sausage is another resident worry wart though he is more outwardly spoken about his concern. Though he is quick to put a smile on and pretend everythings okay whenever they ask him to stop pressing the matter. So he throws his stressed energy into one other responsibilities. Wether it's taking care of bubbles or one of his many art projects.

Joel: The trusting worried wart. He's Lizzy's best friend, though we know that will change in the future. Joel just wants what's best for her and if she wants to keep secrets he's not going to press her about it. So he focuses on his art projects as well and waits to be a shoulder of support when she needs.

Joey: Look I love Joey and all but I can't see him ever falling for a chick, so I'm deciding right here right now that Katherine was his girlfriend before he knew he was gay. So now their just best friends and happy to help each other out when the other one asks. He is not a worry wart like most of the other boys because he knows Katherine and knows she can take care of herself. So he keeps going as if nothing's wrong.

Pix: The resident lore man! Pix is an aspirin journalist so when a group of super heroes just appeared one day he's not going to let this opportunity go to waist. He starts a blog about them and it quickly becomes most peoples main source of information on the girls and the villains. He is also the one who named each of the girls... That sounds weird, he's the one who gave them their super heroe names.

And that's Zombie, Stress and The Boys! I have a few more things about them but they would be more for a deep dive like post. Anyway next is the villains! Or possibly where the girls get their powers from... Hmm well see.

Mythical au probably doesn’t have dream world (because their living world is already a nightmare) sunny mind will explode if I added that ,and all the magical and crazy stuff already happened in their real life, basil dying and the castle basically serves as black space etc.

Also I sometimes add other head canons element in it, basil outfits is one of them, someone wrote me a fanfic about sunny and basil, basically said vampires can’t dream so I probably adding to sunny setting.

The story is around the four kid getting together, while hero and Mari are in their own area, mostly stuff happened in hero’s workplace. Which is a facility for the government (idk supervisors of nations safety for mystical creatures not invaded to human civilization) so it’s a mix of scientists and soldiers, hero and other side characters.However, hero is reviving Mari in secret and for his own goal, other people in his workplace doesn’t know .

Also, I think besides the obvious sunflower in this au, the romance in this highly based on their background history and why they like the other person, the setting is very very intended for sunny and basil. In my eyes everything is in-between platonic to very good friends.

kel in love w basil- kel mother die before meeting the others,( I haven’t plan he met sunny or Aubrey first) , His father was a half werewolf and was very affected by their mother(human, dead from old age , happily )death and carried their mother body disappear in the deep woods and never been seen again. Kel with his form which cannot mix into society live a very solitary life, he is kind to every friend he met, and very touched about how heart broken of his father, promised himself he will never be with another being that could outlive him, he doesn’t want his love to live through that pain. So meeting basil (human) who is not afraid of him, he basically think basil is the one (ps wolf are loyal, yes, one partner one lifetime)

Sunny weird crushing on everyone: vampires like pretty stuff, there isn’t much vampires left in this world to really document but same as mari, apparently vampires besides hunger, there isn’t much desire, so actually if sunny wasn’t depressed he might be like mari, very flirty(at least not outwardly flirty . They can not have children to reproduce, instead a tendency of loving a lot of humans at once, turning your lovers into a vampire( the people you like actually but a lot of them probably is deems as romantic idk). So sunny has strong attraction towards his three friends , where he can’t even turn them into a vampire.

Aubrey: in this story I have a lot of own settings for her, but one of them is, even she looks like a powerful witch, she is still a human, a human who use a lot of magic to stay alive. She might have hints of liking someone but she will quickly prioritize her work than her feelings. She doesn’t have the time. Also not really important but her childhood fantasy is a handsome vampire saving her etc(she worships Mari which also means she’s fascinate by how powerful they are. but when she met sunny , sunny is skin and bones, not like what she imagined but at least he’s cute(tiny cough cough she still respects him a lott!)

Add note-Aubrey theoretically is the only one can be turned into vampire, but there’s a lot of risk doing so, the greatest enemy for them is sun and blood, unlike sunny and mari and their father, the sun is really deathly to vampire’s, the problem of how bad her current he’s is and also the ability to use magic may be effected if doing so

Basil: likes everyone ( or maybe he cannot understand to hate someone ) his values of life and death, romantic or not is broken. Probably lack some human morality sometimes… for example he kills animals “hunting” a lot, will not hesitate to broke a bunny neck for sunny. He is attached to sunny because they are together the longest .

Tbh idk

I’m not sure how to write him, currently is, his brain is foggy/ or overwhelmed , being with sunny felt safe and for him but also when he realizes he is with sunny he will get scared and try to destroy it(I don’t want to explain but just saying he doesn’t make sense and being better with sunny probably makes him feel worse but losing sunny also panic him, from the story he is trying to be better though, just a weird way

this setting of basil actually felt blurry of everything, but very focus on sunny(hey idk too

Add note- alter ending is he left before mari awakened because he lost the feeling of sunny being important anymore, which is if they didn’t get along he would just travel again, and result ending of sunny dying alone

I apologize for taking a while to respond, but do not be fooled... this never left my mind (I also combined the two asks so they wouldn't be separate :>)—more so because the second season of jujutsu made me wonder just how involved Hinata would've been when everything went down!!

But going back to this video—yes!! I think Hinata and Satoru would've done, even with their differences, everything together at one point, and excel at it too.

Knowing how everything comes easy to him Hinata would've made it work, mostly because out of spite haha. She couldn't allow Satoru to be that good, she had to be in his level or near him (She wanted to save herself the incessant teasing from his part) while Satoru would come up with the craziest ideas to find a "weakness" for him to exploit/humiliate, only for him to be rightfully contested when she wouldn't relent.

However, the more they spent time together, the more they realized they genuinely liked being with one another, at one point Satoru offered to teach her whatever she needed—with Hinata willingly accepting to be his student.

I do feel they were attracted to one another, if not started to be attracted, during this time. I mean, they were teenagers, very hormonal, and have been in each other's life since forever 😂 it just started to happen, so... why not?

Hinata would be the first to find the other attractive, however, Satoru would be the first one to conclude that "maybe spending the rest of my life with her isn't as bad"

Of course these sentiments were nothing but a step they needed to take in order to know themselves and what they wanted in life, (like their first time together lol idk if writing it would be morbid but let's be real after all the shit I've done.... do I have any excuse? 😂) eventually coming to the realization that what they wanted the most out of the other was friendship—The reassurance that no matter what happened they would still be there for one another.

Presumably around the time where Satoru met Suguru. They just had a whole new level of chemistry, and Hinata was all in for it.

After Hinata called off the engagement I could totally see Satoru telling her something like:

"If we're still single at 30 we could marry each other and have some kids or something" to which she would only roll her eyes and dismiss as him being his usual silly self—at least outwardly, because Hinata wouldn't deny that the idea of settling down with someone she already knows is nice.

I mean, let's not forget how her dating endeavors had been going—she hates it lol. And I can't blame her, the dating scene is... oof. So why waste her time meeting people that just don't get her, seemingly don't have any ambitions, don't share her work ethics and whatnot, when she could could just rely on Satoru?

And if the pressure from the elders towards Satoru grows too "annoying" for him to keep ignoring, or who knows, maybe he finally decides he do wants to settle down, he could rely on her as well.

It sounds awful when put that way lol, but I think these things serve to show just how intertwined Satoru and Hinata were, something that only people who have known each other for a very long time, and learned to trust one another completely, could do.

Satoru cherishes Ren, Hinata, and Y/N a lot, and so do they. There's nothing they wouldn't do for one another, and that's something I intend to show deeper into the story :>

Another wigfrid headcanon from the Wigfrid guy? [rattles cup of spare change]

Anon, for asking w/o me even reblogging my headcanon post i am going to gift to you... one of my most favoritest of all my horribly self indulgent hcs. regarding the wacky relationship between Wig and Throned Max

Of course, back then Wigfrid could certainly claimed she hated him… But to claim that he didn't… 'help' her- even post his little 'gift' of her entry ticket to that domain- would be a bold faced lie.

Being one of the first survivors to ever enter the Constant- maybe even the first (I sure as hell like to think she was, lol)- Maxwell was a little bit more loose in his own self imposed rules regarding royalty mingling about with pawns.

He didn't really intend to make a habit of chatting much with her. But every time he made a grand entrance- every time he chided her with a little remark or two- she always had something to say… Always had some little spiel to go off on. At first it was confusing, even a little bit annoying, really. What gave her the permission to have the last laugh? He was the one who held all the strings. He was the one who was King!

But as time passed, and as his life sentence being throned continued to stretch on, and especially as he eventually brought in more survivors, he almost came to… value it, oddly enough. Interacting with someone who saw him as less of their torturer and more of their adversary. Someone who's threats at least carried poise and wit, with a thespian air that always shook things up a bit when compared to the others' (there's only so many "i'll tear you apart"s and "you're a big stupid jerk"s you can stand before they start to get… dry. At least she got creative with it).

While it's incredibly easy to genuinely rile Wigfrid up if you know what buttons to push (and of course he knows what buttons to push. He knows everything- her name, her past, her biggest insecurities. He's King), he only really stooped to those measures whenever he was feeling exceedingly bored (or just exceedingly cruel). More often than not, all of his sardonic remarks would be angled at the persona rather than the person. It was always just much more interesting that way.

Once, after a rather bullheadish death (that she perhaps could have avoided by fleeing, had her pride not gotten in the way), he made sure to comment on it as he leered overtop of her reanimated body… That perhaps she should have learned when it was best to turn tail and live to speak of it… But, of course, that would have been asking too much of such a valiant Valkyrie, wouldn't it?

… It was meant to be a jab. Another one of his little zingers. A classic Maxwell Moment, if you will. But before dusk had set, she'd adopted the title as her own- a little spit in his face. To this day, 'Valiant Valkyrie' is tacked onto the end of every introduction she gives.

As for Wigfrid herself, though the man had been much a source of strife for the entirety of her solo journey… To see another human in a place devoid of company- to speak, and to be spoken to… She'd assuredly be far worse off had she not had him to keep her mind sharp, and her goal clear.

It was a little bit of mutual theater kid enrichment, if you will. Eventually, with the more strength he lost, Maxwell grew tired of his silly little antagonist visits. But by that point it didn't really matter when he had Wilson and his progress to concern himself with.

Of course, she would never outwardly confess to it… To the fact that without his 'aid'- as unorthodox as it was- she may have wound up differently than the person the Constant molded her into. But that doesn't mean she doesn't know that it's true.

I was checking an oldish tag on here and saw some of your old asks about Stas where people told you everything she was doing, full transparency and you defended her like no other. Everything they spoke about came to light and we are now or have been seeing since Europe everything and more that people mentioned . So im curious (maybe you’ve said before but i didnt see it) what made you change your stance and open your eyes to her odd behavior especially towards Colby? The asks were pretty blunt and straight forward and you still found a way to curve every answer.

I checked the tag btw because i noticed today that not only did she promote Katrina on twitter, but made a tiktok to her song, told people shes her biggest fan, and has been liking a bunch of C4 edits and pics. I remembered seeing asks talking about her never supporting Kat only Colby so after seeing that i came back here to try and find what else those asks said and saw everything everyone has been saying is pretty legit.

i did say a while back why my feelings changed for stas, but i'll just state them again i guess lol

also holy shit this is long sorry about that lmao

so, originally, when ppl would come to me saying why they didn't like stas, to me it didn't feel like it was a legitimate reason. and i felt that way bc they would come on here, talk about her, but give no proof to their claims. just say that "oh i heard this" or "i think she did this" or "did you see she did this" and to me, none of it was enough proof to throw her off the island, so to speak. i mean, some anons talked about her liking edits as proof enough that she was shady or up to no good. ppl would use her likes on twitter as main example of "see! look how bad she is" and the tweet in question was either not there (bc she probs unliked it) when i would go looking for it or if it was about colby and her… it was harmless and not something like "colby and her should be together. they have something going on".

also, no offense to anyone that sent me asks in during that time period, but i don't exactly have the most faith in the fandom towards ppl outwardly hating on a girl bc she's close to colby. it's happen countless times. the amount of times i've been told that the reason a girl that colby's friends with or hooking up with or JUST STANDING NEAR is bad bc "she just gives me bad vibes"… let's just say, if i had a nickle, i'd be a rich woman. so when it started happening with her, i didn't think much of it. thought of it as jealousy or just over-protective fans.

but things started to change a bit, i would say, by summer. i think after one too many trips to vegas, my liking for her was dwindling. idk if she did something or what (bc at this point i don't remember), but the vibe changed around her and what she was doing. at least to me. not to mention, no matter what she did, it was drama. and that itself was exhausting.

then colby made that tiktok with her. and when he started deleting comments shipping the two of them together, that's when i knew oh, he really doesn't want to be shipped with her and i thought this was him actually laying down the law and finally putting his foot down to all the shipping that goes on between him and stas.

then europe happened. and i fucking KNEW this trip wasn't gonna end well. i felt it in my bones. or maybe i'm just really good at picking up patterns lol

what first started to gross me out, was finding out about her mom posting things. and look, i'm all for a supportive mother. and tbh idk if her mom ever responded to fans. but what concerned me was how much info she was sharing publicly. and then how many fans were searching for her mom, finding her page, and basically narrowing down where they were in brussels and all that. snc have been stalked before, have had their house broken into before, what they DO NOT NEED is someone with them basically giving their every location just bc those fans are subscribers.... or random ppl on her mom's facebook.

that's when i also noticed that her roommate was at least cognizant of fandom drama that had happened not too long ago bc she liked a tweet about it while it was happening. that turned me off quite a bit as well. and i know a lot of ppl bring up stas posting the video from colby's bedroom and honestly…. ngl that flew under my radar. it just didn't feel like anything to me at the time.

and then finally: tomorrowland. the amount of fans that upticked their talks of colby and stas when they were basically forced to hang out with one another the whole time bc kat and sam wanted their own time away (which is fine, don't get me wrong. but it just really didn't help the already existing issue of colby and stas being shipped) was super fucking annoying. i basically was getting upwards of 10 asks a day, and that's a light guesstimate, about the situation. and while i don't mind talking about something…. i don't want to talk about it that much.

then, the malishka thing happened. i literally ignored it on here bc i just couldn't talk about it. at first, i was angry at colby. like why would he post this this is so stupid. but as time has gone on, i've basically come to the lovely realization that stas is the one that posted it (also, according to some whispers i've heard she basically told her subs that she did. idk tho that's alleged). realistically, colby doesn't understand russian. he probably filmed her, showed her the video, and she typed that and posted it. she also had earlier post the pic on his story of her face zoomed in. at least, that's what i personally believe. and when asked what malishka meant, she probably lied or just didn't tell him bc he probably didn't rewatch his story.

bc something to note is that they had terrible wifi in tomorrowland. so he might not have even known about this whole thing until a day later or so.

and what made all of it worst was the fans' reaction on twitter. and the fact that a lot of the fans that came out and congratulated colby and stas for "finally being together" after "all this time of us knowing" were both ppl i followed and ppl my age……….. i basically was about done with the situation. and then of course she had to like a tweet about the malishka thing. and that solidified it for me.

and if THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, they came home from the trip and colby hung out with her one more time right before moving to vegas. he literally told us on xplrclub that he was gonna be THIRDWHEELING in vegas (aka laying it on AS THICK AS HE COULD that he was single), and that fucking night stas told her subs that she was going on a date. and wouldn't you believe it, but it was her and colby hanging out ! along with others, but no one saw them on her story. just her and colby.

after that, colby mentioned multiple times about being single, being young, and wanting to have fun while in vegas. and i think that's when the tides personally turned for stas. she had fun playing house with colby in europe, she had her fun of living the fantasy of what it would be like to be colby's gf, to be Y/N. but reality set in when they came home. i think the last night they hung out, i think she confessed how she felt, and he rejected her. and look, she has every right to be upset about being rejected. i get being rejected, especially by someone you feel you have a connection to, SUCKS ASS. i'm not denying that. however, you caused your own delusions. colby was literally hooking up with six flags girl multiple times this past year, LITERALLY BROUGHT HER TO A HANG OUT SESSION WITH THE CORE FOUR, …..and you think he was into you???? the same man that deleted comments about the two of you together????????? the same man that FOR YEARS has begged the fandom to stop shipping him with every girl he's friends with??????? that man… was into you?

i mean, he went on a (assumed) date with a girl in vegas and stas tweeted like four things that night about being hurt or whatever (idk at this point i don't remember all the details) and then on top of that deleted said tweets. maybe something happened between them. i doubt it wholeheartedly tho. i think she loved the fantasy of them being an item, but he wanted no parts of it.

bc that's the thing: colby loves to tease us sometimes. like with amber. he loves making the fans freak out. but when he does shit like that, he chose to be part of the game. this is the only time he asked not to be included…. and she did it anyway. i don't think he knew the extent of breadcrumbs she was leaving for fans to speculate. i think when he saw what happened with the malishka shit (bc again he probs didn't see it until a day or two later bc of wifi and just wanting to enjoy his vacation) i think stas left a soured taste in his mouth. and then she made it worst by telling fans that her and him were going on a date…. and that was enough for him to be done with her. that's why at kat's bday party he sat as far from her as possible and seemed to not want any parts of the party. and that's why she's talking about being rejected now. bc i personally think they are done being friends as of rn.

i mean… it would make sense too. bc the moment he was hurt by what stas did, who did he run back to after all this time? shea, the original stas lmao

and as for stas all of a sudden being up kat's ass, to be as bluntly honest as i can be, i do not fucking care. i've gotten a bunch of asks about it. i can't be more frank than literally telling yall i don't care. i'm tired of talking about stas. bc even tho i don't like her, and i do think she is a bit of a snake, not everything she does is newsworthy or needs to be talked about. she liked something that implied feelings for colby? who cares. she wrote a poem about him? who cares. she wants to leave comments about how much she loves kat? omg who cares. we all know at this point she wants attention.

I’d prefer it over just a dinner date or a movie because it’s more fun. I also just think amusement parks are romantic and in a sucker for cute fluffy cliche stuff. In general though I would enjoy any date that shows that he put thought and effort into it and actually values the time I’m spending with him. (Like instead of just saying “let’s hang out. What do you want to do”, be like “hey when are you available this week? Saturday? Ok be ready at 7 on Saturday”. I like that because it shows initiative and interest). Also if we are meeting each other somewhere don’t be late I will leave. So overall any date that’s fun, shows effort, interest, and shows that he actually took the time to think about my personality and what I’d like.

Personality: INTJ 3w4. I’m introverted and calm most of the time. I can be socially awkward but if I prepare myself or plan beforehand I can be very charming. I'm really analytical and am good at finding loopholes and working around problems under pressure. But I can also overthink a lot of things and plan out too much of my interactions with people. I'm not good with emotional support and can come across a little cold because of that but I usually try my best to understand the other person and their needs. I hate small talk and I like people who are blunt and logical but also have emotional intelligence. However, I cannot deal with overly emotional people who are extremely dramatic and make a big deal of their feelings when a situation can be logically resolved much more quickly and peacefully. I'm not that expressive (outwardly at least because I'm actually really emotional I just hide it well) and have a hard time relaxing or enjoying things because I've been conditioned to always consider how it will look on mine and my family's reputation. I'm a perfectionist and hold myself to very high standards and I can sometimes be very critical of others because of my high expectations. I constantly chase perfection for myself and try to be the most idealized version of myself but these standards cause me to be extremely hard on myself when it comes to falling short of my expectations or making mistakes. I’m very understanding, fair, and extremely loyal. I’d literally take a bullet for my friends but I also expect the same kind of loyalty in return. I’m very devoted to my principles and can often have a hard time forgiving people if they do something I find to be fundamentally wrong according to my principles. I have trust issues with romance but when I fall in love I fall really hard and I’m very romantic (im a songwriter so I’ll literally write lyrics about them and draw them and stuff). A lot of people don’t realize how deeply I feel things because I don’t show it on the surface. I’ve also been told I seem intimidating until someone gets to know me. Some of my dealbreakers are: misogyny (when people especially men undermine my intelligence and experience and end up making a mistake I warned them about only to listen when another man repeats the same thing l've been saying since the beginning), big egos with nothing to back it up, people who can't keep up with me (I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone whose hand I have to hold all the time. They need to be on the same level/wavelength as me and not drag me down), being a coward and not standing up for your own beliefs/motives, people that are way too nice (whoever I end up with has to have a mean streak because it shows they are able to take action when needed. How are they going to support and protect me if they can’t even stand up for themselves when needed.), being self absorbed and not considering the consequences of your actions, people who have a moral superiority complex that think they're better for not wanting to break rules to get what they want, and people who can't take responsibility for their actions. (I would respect someone whose honest about being a bad person a lot more than I respect someone who tries to come across as kind and caring all the time no matter what. It’s like that Jack sparrow quote, “I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly stupid”. I fully agree with him. I also have a short temper when people act like the things I mentioned, or if I’m in a situation where people are being inefficient or wasting my time but if people communicate effectively I’ll be very patient and help them come up with a way to deal with their situation.

Hobbies/Likes: I love fashion and I've been a model since I was 14, I used to do pageants as a kid, I make my own music and music is probably the thing I love the most. It's really what I use to process the world so music is definitely the way to my heart. I can't play any instruments but I sing and make my own music. (Shameless self promo but here’s my newest song). I'm a good artist but I don't like doing it on a deadline I've gotten back into drawing recently tho. I've also been doing martial arts since I was 7 + fencing. I'm good at chess and poker and made money from playing/betting on games when I was younger. I also love reading.

While reading about your description, I couldn't help but think that you and Ayato could really be a power couple!

You and him have a lot in common personality wise, both of you can be charming, prefer someone blunt rather than to dance around the matter. Loyalty is also a quality that Ayato values the most in people, and maybe someone ready to risk how much as you do for those who he loves.

Something different about you two is maybe your ability to relax: for you is a bit difficult but for Ayato can be a bit easier (when he is not dying on a pile of paperwork and anything work related), with his little time on his hands, he has learned how valuable relaxing can be and so know how to help you. Mentioning the little time he has, appointments and a precise day to do everything is important to him given the tight schedule he has.

Ayato is a man of logic, rarely gives in emotions or so it seems: he knows how to wear his heart on his sleeve and is enough cool headed and rational to reflect and come to a right answer. He is observant and has learned to read the people around him, so I think he can easily sense the shift on your own emotions when you feel troubled despite not showing it: it takes a word, or simply an unusual action on your part, even the smallest, for him to understand. As a partner Ayato is a bit distant, at least in the pubblic eyes but I see him being more affectionate in private, for sure values the time he has with you like gems.

Would be for sure one to enjoy your music, probably even interested about it (and maybe give you some useless trivia or curiosities about it, but that's Ayato for you); for sure very endeared by your little bets on your younger days (but can you beat him on board games, he will tease). Also... Do you have any problems with sparring dates? Just asking, you know. For science. Ayato is a sword guy, and so some experience with new, more foreign, sword styles wouldn't hurt him. He is someone who values hard work, no matter who you are or your origins, and you strike me as someone who would for sure get his attention only for that.

Sometimes he can be a bit spoiled if we may say, being born as a rich prick, and his sadistic tendencies (save Thoma) can be a bit of a down back on this relationship, if we also consider him being slightly two-faced at the times, but he is one who sticks close with his ideals and is ready to risk something to chase them or to protect the one he loves. He for sure got your back there!
