I'm so down bad for Maddox and Ashlyn that my three favourite scenes are:
3. The Redlyn breakup - the chillest break up, Red supporting Ashlyn going after Maddox and the most insane storyline of Red realising he's bi because he kisses Seb
2. Just the entirety of Maddox during opening night - having an existential breakdown over your love life that you break the sound controls and then just give up on your stage manager duties and disappear (probably to help quinn)
1. The confession - a scene I want on repeat: the explanations of how afraid they are of how much they like the other then the "should we just stay friends?" Before having such a love induced make out their just completely ignore Carlos being there. (Also Maddison giving up and telling Maddox to stop coming back to her when she clearly likes Ashlyn... my baby just needed that push)
I love all my queer children but these two are the wlw so I love them just slightly more.
i think its cute here that dean's trying to convince himself (sam also, but mostly himself) that sam isn't capable of murder and is good and won't turn evil when in approximately nine episodes dean fully covers up a grisly murder that, to his knowledge, sam committed. no hesitation, no thoughts of 'shit sam's evil, gonna have to stop him', nothing. just fully throws away whatever moral line he's trying to set here bc its sam and there is no core belief that surpasses him
You get to have a picnic with Thirteen 😖😖 you might not notice but this segment has cute music, almost feel like a scene from a romantic old VN, even the efectos when you open her trap, agh!!!!!!
She gives you a matching bracelet in the end 🫣🫣 I love her so much, I actually loved the whole scene...
WWDITS writers, please, I am on my hands and knees BEGGING YOU to take cues from OFMD in actually having the fortitude to follow through on plot points and actions from previous seasons and episodes. Emotionally repressed characters can in fact communicate about past events to a degree that is satisfying to the audience, continues story threads left hanging, and also manages to stay in character and make sense for the narrative. Traumatic events can in fact continue to affect characters for more than the duration of a single episode. Actions can have real, lasting consequences.
Shocking, I know, but. It's possible. It can be done.
IT'S NOT DIFFICULT AND CAN STILL FIT INTO A SERIES FOCUSED ON COMEDY. EVEN, DARE I SAY, HORROR SHENANIGAN-BASED COMEDY.
WITH JUST A BIT OF DEDICATION AND EFFORT, YOU TOO CAN CRAFT A SUCCINCT STORYLINE THAT WRAPS ITSELF UP IN MORE THAN JUST A THROWAWAY SENTENCE THAT'S NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. YOU CAN WRITE CHOICES AND ACTIONS FOR CHARACTERS THAT MAKE SENSE.
okay so now that i’ve officially finished watching leverage i just want to say that maybe i’m obsessed with this show on multiple levels and something about how it hits so many itches in that it’s about found family and it’s about fucking over bad, rich guys (no billionaire bootlicking in this show! and i fucking love it) and it’s also about how sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get and it’s also about how we are all stronger together it’s about how at the start of this show, we have all of these characters who are largely used to working alone and being alone and yet the show concludes that ultimately, we are better when we are together and by being together, we might be able to leave something behind that is bigger and brighter for the next people in our generation and no man is an island and no person is meant to beat goliath on their own or whatever
you still resent nancy and jonathan for getting together???? for “hurting steve’s feelings”??? despite the fact that he verbally supported their relationship like 2 hours after seeing them together. this from a season that released 6 fucking years ago. a season prior to him saying that he was NOT in love with nancy anymore. do you want me to call shawn levy and tell him of your dilemma. bestie do you need to rewatch the source material
Stephen makes my heart ache and my stomach hurt istg and I mean that just because I love him to death but I wish they would touch on him more.
In season two when he’s standing in the middle of the road and pacing, they never really touch on it. He’s relapsed and they know it- but it’s back to normal. That scene was supposed to mean ‘if he doesn’t stop using, it’s going to kill him.’
He’s back in that car with her, smoking cigarettes as if he’s not giving up on everything he ever belived in. Gil, his sobriety- shit, even his vegetarian bull shit (even when we all know he never really followed it carefully enough anyways). The look on his face when Sarah asks if he’s eating meat again. The look of ‘it doesn’t really matter anymore, does it?’ How quick he was to give it up.
‘Is that what you think I need?’ He yells, even when hours later he’d be shaking and pacing in oncoming traffic on weary feet as Alice hurriedly called Linden to help him- to save him, almost as if she could tell what she had ment to him, even if they had only been together a tiny amount of time. Around ten days.
Please, let him be vulnerable. Let him be shaky and paranoid and sad.
Might be showing my age a little bit here, but did any of you guys also play Super Princess Peach on the DS when you were kids? It was one of my favorite DS games when I was younger, and the impending release of Princess Peach Showtime has gotten me thinking about it again. I still have my cartridge for it, and I also still have the original case and instruction booklet that came with it.
Even after all these years it still works too! Can’t believe that this game is almost twenty years old!
